There is a recall on my airbags and i'm just wondering how many letters and warnings i'm going to get before they do something about it. I have had no less than four warnings and yet no parts and no solution. They either need to fix it or stop warning me about it. I know it's crap, they don't need to tell me it's crap every 4 months and then refuse to fix it.

I received a paper saying it was recalled
We have been receiving recall notices for over a year stating that there is no remedy for this problem.how is there still it fix for this?
The driver side airbag ruptured. I was driving down a1a in hallandale beach, fl. Three lanes of traffic had just merged to two and traffic was flowing perfect going 25 mph. The car that was two in front of me stopped dead for no reason causing the car in front of me to stop. I hit my brakes but couldn't stop in time and rear ended the other car. There was a loud explosion and the next thing i remember i was sitting in my car staring at the center of my steering console. The airbag was no where to be seen.the airbag has completely dislodged from the steering column. After searching for it i found it between the drivers door and the seat. It has caused cuts and burns on both of my arms as well as the left side of my face. The emt's told me i was lucky i had large glasses on as they probably kept me from getting hit in the eye. I also am suffering from hearing problems since the explosion of the airbag. My right hear has partial hearing with moderate ringing and pain, my left ear sounds like i'm sitting in a field of crickets. It makes horrible cracking and shrill whistling sounds. I am going to see my ear doctor tomorrow. The rest of me is sore but ok. I think this issue needs to be looked at as there was definitely too much pressure in the airbag. I have pictures of the steering column showing how the airbag was gone except a small piece of you need them. I am going to see my car later today and am hoping to get the airbag to keep in case you need it. Also, the car is registered in my husband's name [xxx] just for you fyi. Takata recallthe lack of information about getting this repaired ("no parts are available" is the only info i have) is unacceptable.on top of that, i just sat on hold for almost a half hour waiting for my call to be answered, and the rep picked up, acted like she couldn't hear me on the phone and hung up on me.i have a letter saying i shouldn't let people ride in the front seat of my car because its unsafe, but then mazda's site says oh its safe enough, never mind my driver's airbag where i sit to drive the [xxx] car is affected too.mazda has to get its act together and get these things fixed immediately.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The failure and current mileage was 94,000.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2005 mazda 6. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle independently accelerated without warning. The brake pedal was depressed to the floor, but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact mentioned that the vehicle accelerated up to 50 mph and stopped after the emergency brake was engaged and the ignition key was removed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
I was reading this complaint section and noticed that there was someone complaining about the same issues i was having.i own a 2005 mazda6 sedan sport -- it has died three times on me, for no apparent reason.once at a stop sign, again at a metering light on the freeway and then again in the middle of a busy intersection in san francisco.i have documented all three incidents and have brought to the dealership, but they never really found anything "wrong" -- but obviously something is wrong if my brand new car dies.this was back in november and it's been fine ever since (it's april now), but i still have some sort of anxiety when driving - not knowing if i will reach my destination or not.
My vehicle died while i was driving at a low speed into a parking lot. I found out the issue is the positive terminal of the car battery is loose, so the battery cuts in and out. Also, since the positive terminal is loose, the battery acid spills out and corrodes the cable.i have since replaced my battery with a new mazda car battery, and my mechanic tightened the positive terminal by inserting a metal coin (since the battery harness part has been discontinued). However, i noticed today that there is corrosion on the positive battery cable, so some battery acid is leaking out of my new battery.also, i noticed that when i start the car, most times the car will die on the first start and need to be restarted in order to stay on.i don't feel safe driving my vehicle b/c i am afraid it will die again while i'm driving it.
The car was parked for around 5 hours last driven around 10:30pm awoken to screams of a fire in condo complex car was in flames fully engulfed destroyed two condo's and 4-5 cars.. My mazda6 was the source per two different insurance investigators. One investigator stated that the car's wiring may have been the cause.. As the batter was destroyed and all electrical lines were severely burned. Another investigator positively confirmed the fire started towards the left rear of the car. The car had just came back from a day trip and was used most of the day prior to the fire. My investigation into mazda 6's and fires turned up a surprising amount... Searching *salvage mazda6* in my year range turned up a large amount of vehicle fires... With the same burn characteristics. When i awoke to my car on fire the car horn was stuck on, and the headlights were mysteriously on also... I have photos of this and the stages of the fire and the aftermath.. It even made local news... I do believe there are problems with these cars... This car was dealer serviced and was always given an inspection... Yes this was a year ago, but i do believe there was a malfunction with the car. I have plenty of photos of the car ect available. Attached is just one of the many news coverage of the scene. Car was a clean title dealer maintained vehicle showing no signs of malfunctions.http://www.kcra.com/news/local-news/news-sacramento/car-fire-spreads-to-apartment/-/12969376/15228862/-/117ugyc/-/index.html.

Had 30000 mile service done prior to a1000mile one wayvacation trip. After arriving at our destination washed car at coin car wash. Drove car for about 10 minutes andengine began surging, transmission would not move from second gear, and vehicle speed would not exceed 20 mph. Exited roadway and parked vehicle overnight. At engine startup vehicle ran fine but with engine light on. Drove 60 miles and vehicle suffered complete shutdown on freeway. Vehicle coasted to a safe stop and called mazda roadside. Vehicle would not even turn over. Vehicle towed to dealership, ignition coil and pcm were replaced. Dealerapprovedvehicle for 1000 mile return trip. After only 4 hours of driving engine light came on again. Exited interstate, parked vehicle and called mazda roadside. Vehicle currently under repair. This was two identical failures within 200 miles of use.
The contact owns a 2005 mazda 6. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to new england motors of fitchburg (located at 71 john fitch hwy, fitchburg, ma 01420) where it was diagnosed that unknown wires needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure continued. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 90,000.
I had a strange incident with my 2005 mazda 6 s 4-cylinder automobile.i am reporting this in case there might be a pattern that results in further investigation.the context is with respect to the automobile's traction control system.i was driving on a wet road where the rain had stopped about an hour earlier. There was no standing water as the rain had been light anyway.i was on a three-lane (6-lanes total) narrow divided highway going about 45 mph.from the middle lane, i was entering the left lane as a fast driver in that lane passed by me.as i was entering the lane, this driver who had been pulling ahead quickly, hit their brakes and decided to move into the middle lane (and maybe further to make the exit).at this point, i tapped my brakes and it was then that my vehicle started moving hard right and eventually turning into the oncoming traffic.i was trying to steer it in the other direction but it continued moving.in the end,it was like back-to-back u-turns but there was no crash, damage, or injuries. During the incident i felt that i had little control over the vehicle and the whole incident was baffling since i have driven almost all of the 47,000 miles on the car in all kinds of weather with no such experience or even hint of such an experience.while it could have been many things that caused this, i think that the situation may have been started and then exacerbated by the traction control system. After tapping my brakes, i think the traction control system detected the uneven speed of my front wheels and engaged to begin regulating the speed of the vehicle and continued during most of the incident an exacerbating the problem.i understand this is a complex problem with difficult to analyze causes.i am reporting this in case others have had this same issue and a pattern emerges.

I was driving home from work today. I was driving on a road not far from my home and going about 40 mph.my foot was not on the gas but the car began to suddenly accelerate.it suddenly accelerated to over 50 mph.i began to brake, but it felt like i was trying to brake at the same time someone was pressing hard on the gas pedal.i put the car in neutral and pressed the brake as hard as i could.it was a definite hard push on the brake -- as if i had lost power brakes.there were cars ahead of me stopped in the road because of an accident.i managed to stop -- but barely.i almost hit the car in front of me after finally stopping my car when it surged forward several feet while my foot was firmly on the brake.i managed to get my car on the side of the road and put it in park.the engine continued to rev up and down as if i was about to start drag racing even though i did not have my foot on the gas pedal.this continued until i turned the engine off.when i turned the engine back on, the revving had stopped.a similar, but briefer incident happened a few weeks ago.i had to put the car in neutral, brake as hard as i could and use my emergency brake to stop the car.this issue happened the first time about 3 years ago.i almost ran into the plate glass window of a store.when i was able to stop the car and put it in park, the engine revved repeatedly (very, very high that time) and did not stop until i turned off the vehicle.i took the car to the mazda dealership.they called in engineers and could never replicate the problem and said it was unlikely to ever occur again.well now it has occurred twice in the past few weeks.this is an incredibly dangerous safety issue.someone will be hurt or killed.i see that the mazda tribute has been recalled for a similar issue.people complain on the internet of this issue with the mazda 6.please help!.

Incident2005 mazda 6 broke down along side road. Engine only had 40,000 miles on it. Called mazda service manager, bob, and he told me to have it towed there and he'd take care of me. I was later told the engine blew but as his crew looked at it they verified that the engine and oil was clean. He said he'd call regional and see what he could do for me to get the engine repaired/replaced. Damage resultingafter several weeks of run around i was finally told it was going to cost $90 for the service team to have looked at the engine. I was then informed that he could put a salvaged engine in for $4000. I about freaked out. $4000 for a used engine that came with a mere 90 day warranty. I called mazda headquarters and was told i should've bought an extended warranty. I told her she was crazy that no car costing over $20,000 should blowing engines with a mere 40,000. I then asked if mazda would help out by paying for service or the engine or at least half so that i could get the car back working. She told me that bob offered me a great deal and i had refused him. I told her what he offered and $4000 for a used engine plus other parts as needed didn't sound like a good deal to me at all. I asked her if it was her car if she would not expect mazda to stand behind their product and assist? she told me that mazda stands behind their products and i should've purchased the extended warranty. After reviewing the internet i see mazda 6 engines seem to have alot of loss of oil/blow out problems. Always thought mazda was a good company...but i know i'll never purchase another and i'll make sure everyone i speak with hears first hand of my experience with the vehicle, the dealers run around and the arrogance at mazda hq in california.
The contact owns a 2005 mazda6. The contact stated that while at a traffic light, the vehicle began to hesitate as if it were going to stall. The contact had to apply pressure to the accelerator pedal in order to keep the engine running. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that two engine coils needed to be replaced; however, when that did not correct the failure, the contact was told that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The failure continued to occur and the contact was told that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact was concerned that the failure was a manufacturers defect that was never repaired under warranty. We were driving from los angeles, ca to fremont, ca on the i-5 highway.weather was hot - about 95f to 100f that day.about mid-way in our drive, the car became very jerky when i lift off, or step back on, the throttle.i pulled off to the closest exit and proceeded to a gas station.as we were rolling to the gas station, i needed to step extremely hard on the brake pedal, but was still not able to completely stop the vehicle.vehicle kept rolling at ~5 mph despite i step hard on the brake.i needed to push the transmission lever to neutral, and then pulled the hand-brake to completely stop the vehicle.after the car was stopped, the engine rpm hovered between 2k - 3k rpm, but my foot was off the gas pedal already.the check-engine-light was not on, and the car was not overheating.we opened the hood and checked the fluids, and everything was normal.we felt we were not able to stop the car because of the engine hovered at 2-3k rpm despite my foot being completely off the gas pedal.we then shut down the car.after 10 minutes, we re-started the car and everything was normal again.it has been ~500 miles since this incident but the issue has not returned yet.nonetheless, we feel that it is a dangerous safety issue because when it happened, the car cannot be safely stopped.
I think the mazda line of vehicles should be looked into.i have a 2005 mazda 6 i sedan that from the very beginning had issues.at 5000 miles i complained to the nhtsa because the car shut off on me on the highway.i took it to the dealership and the dealership could not duplicate the problem.the problem with the car shutting off has happened a few other times over the years and i've always had it investigated however the dealership could never find an issue.finally it is 2011 and the car has 96000 miles on it and is completely shut down.as it turns out despite getting every piece of maintenance done on time and in order by the manufacturer cylinder #2 and #3 misfire and ultimately need "rethreading?" .i wonder if this was a problem on the car to begin with.i have talked to a few other mazda 6 owners who have had a similar experience as i did.
In august of 2005 i purchased a mazda 6 (automatic transmission).after 2 - 3 weeks of ownership my mazda died on me one day while driving on the highway.i immediately took it to the dealership yet no problem was identified.4 - 5 months later my car stalled while sitting at a light.a couple of months after that, my mazda stalled again.a couple of days ago while backing out of the driveway my car just turned off.it's so annoying because i always take it to the dealership immediately after the stalling occurs and they can never identify a problem; they try to recreate the conditions and put miles on my car but it doesn't stall for them.when it stalls there is no warning (i.e no lights, engine noise, etc).it turns right back on immediately; i notice the lights and the fact that my engine is no longer on.i simplyput the car in park and turn the ignition and the car runs fine.this stalling occurs every 5 - 7 months.i've complained and complained to every mazda dealership i've been to and have sent multiple emails and made multiple phone calls to the corporate office about this issue.because the problem can't be identified the mazda technicians can offer no remedy.

Driving on highway and couldn't accelerate then car died out and shut down.took it to mazda dealer which had no explanation to how or why engine was blown.it was a 2005 mazda 6 3.0 l v6 that had around 69,000 miles.

2005 mazda 6 6 cylinderwith 61000 miles , needs new engine. The only sign was a screech noise a few times , took it to an auto shop, where they checked the belts ,and we could not reproduce the sound.started a minor oil leak ,and less than 4 days later engine failure, and the dealer says it needs a new engine. Just out of warranty. Mazda dealership says the oil looks black and indirectly told me that i probably did not do regular oil services, which is untrue . I just did not use the dealership. Contact the mazda corporate, and they said they will investigate thisproblem , but have not received any response. I am totally disappointed in this vehicle, who i nursed and mostly did longer distance driving. The dealership repeatedly said that the car has a lot of miles on the odometer for its two years old. Never had any vehicle who disappointed me like this! expensive lesson for me and mazda have not been helpful at all. Every communication have been really vague and every person which i talked to made sure that ithat i know that the car have not been maintained by the dealership and stressing the fact that the car does not have any warranty. Not any real help from the mazda dealership except giving me the expensive quotation for a new engine. Did not offer to take up the issue with mazda corporateeven though the car is fairly new and well taken care off. The warrant just expired a 1000 miles ago.any one with a similar experience of engine failure in a relatively new car?
I purchased what i believed to be a brand new car on december 13, 2004 the car i purchased is a 2005 mazda 6 i did not no at the time that the car i believed to be new had 1,610 miles on it, i believe he sold me a demo which is also a part of my complaint, on 2-4-05 my brand new mazda broke down, and now needs a new motor, it was towed on 2-4-05and taken to white plains mazda, white plains ny on 2-8-05 where as of this 2-17-05 it is still in the shop awaiting a new motor, to which i have every intention on taking said vehicle when it is repaired back to place of purchase, i believe that maybe they might have even turned back the odometer, i wish for this to be noted so therefore maybe mazda down on hillside avenue , in jamaica queens will not do this to anyone else. Also how does a brand new vehicle purchased in december break down the first week in february.
2006 mazda6 grand touring hesitated when accelerating and de-accelerating.the gears also became stuck.the vehicle has been taken to the dealer multiple times for air conditioning/heater problems., radio/cd and condensation on the inside of the windshield.

Purchased car used 08/02/14 first mazda purchase experience) low beam headlight was out, had it replaced 11/06/14. Now both low beams are out on 05/12/15. Began looking on internet and found there is a common complaint that mazda's "eat low beam headlights". This, in my opinion, is a dealer problem and a safety issue. We shouldn't have to continually replace headlights. We haven't even had the car a year (although used, new to us. Who knows how long the former owners had to deal with this issue), and we are having to replace the first replacement 6 months later and now the 1st time for the other one. Being that that is unusual, i began searching online. According to what i found, we'll be doing this again. Therefore, i am hoping that with your help and investigation, there will be a recall in which mazda can pick up the tab which, apparently, rightly belongs to them. Following are just a few of the complaints i found. There are many more!!!http://www.mazdaforum.com/forum/mazda6-20/headlight-problem-17454/page3/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqqperresa8http://www.mazdaforum.com/forum/mazda5-43/low-beam-headlight-bulbs-keep-blowing-21310/wouldn't it be great if mazda assigned an engineer to read the forums for problems with their cars and prepare posts with solutions? it is plainly obvious that a problem is very common when you look at the number of "views" listed for certain topics, such the headlights (many thousands of owners have headlight failure problems). Mazda should have issued a bulletin or a recall since the corroding pjb is clearly a safety problem. This looks like a design/engineering flaw. Every electrician and plumber knows to never put moisture sources above electrical boxes. Shame on them.
Headlights just stop working. I have to hit a bump in the road to turn it back on. Very disappointing.
Fog lights is burning the inner housing bezel with the possible hazard of a fire . In addition mazda replaced the bezel they also replaced my driving light bulbs and now the vehicle has extremely reduced night visibility creating also a safety hazard had the headlights bezel replaced twice under warranty. Now mazda refuses to change the bezel or bulbs again since they claim vehicle is out of warranty; even doe it was an issue replaced twice under warranty and my vehicle is now unsafe at night..proof that it was a know issue to mazda that later models the fog lights were relocated in the bumper.
The high beam switch or something went wrong and stopped working . Cant turn on high beams only low beams are working . Was in highway 49 and are a lot of potholes . Just a bumpy road and once it was dark i went to turn on brights and does nothing . Only low beams work and very hard to see when really dark out on road .
My drivers side front headlight issue first began about 50k miles (oct. 2012). The headlight went out and i went to replace the bulb but it wouldn't turn on. My mechanic fixed the brakes around the same time and took around the block, went over a bump and the bulb came back on. I've had issue ever since. Usually i can give it a little tap and it will come back on. Not this time! ive replaced the bulb twice since 2013, it's at 80,555 miles now and it won't come back on at all!there should be a recall, for i've searched the interent and found many mazda 6's in many model years that have this same issue.my drivers seat belt just began getting stuck at 80,300 miles. The day before father's daywas the first time it happened. (june 20, 2015). I went to target and i couldn't get out of my seatbelt when i turned the car off. I jiggled it and pushed on it repeatedly until i heard it click again and it finally released. This is incredibly unsafe and i have to be very careful how i put my seatbelt on until i hear the "right click" or it won't let me out. My cruise went out on my way back from ok in aug. 2013, right around 65,000 miles i believe. I was coming up on the ca border and had to stop for inspection and as i slowed down, my car began lunging forward despite the fact that i applied the brakes. I turned it off and back on and it stopped until i used the cruise again. Then it'd lunge again when i'd slow down or attempt to stop. I called my friend and he said to stop using the cruise. The problem has not continued, but i also haven't used the cruise since 2013. My car doesn't even have 100k miles and i bought it new. I've maintained it and it still had other issues. The keyless entry, bose 6 disc, alternator and thermostat have all malfunctioned!the lights on the radio display don't light properly and the headliner falls down despite my best efforts to fix it....updated 01/06/16

The clutch pedal assembly has 3 cracks in it which allowed the assembly to push through the bulkhead to the engine compartment the clutch did not work properly almost causing an accident as i was unable to change gear.this is a dangerous defect which should not have occured.i think a recall should be isssued for this part to be replaced and repaired and also other damage caused by thi defect.
It has a very rough shift from first to second gear. It doesn't grind orclunk, it's just a violent shift almost like its slipping.
2005 mazda 6 developed problems with the transmission shifting.*mrthe consumer stated the transmission fropped from 4th gear to 3rd gear on its own while driving.

2005 mazda 6s 3 liter v6 with automatic transmission (aisin warner).application of throttle to accelerate in 5th or 6th gear causes jerk, selects neutral then eventually selects an appropriate gear.very dangerous on uphill freeways due to sudden loss of any power.mazda has a service bulletin on this # 05-016/06 that proves this condition is not isolated.

: i have a 2005 mazda 6 wagon bought new off the dealer's lot. 4 years later, in sept. 2009 with 22k miles on it, i was coming off a curving exit ramp when i stepped on the gas to merge into traffic and nothing happened - no pickup -i just started coasting. This happened a few times before in the previous years (maybe 4-5 times), but those times it felt more like a belt slipping and it "caught" again very quickly, like in a split second. The ramp experience was more pronounced and lasted longer, like a full 2 seconds, which was more scary and potentially more hazardous. Turned out the tcm (transmission computer module) had to be replaced. It would have cost $1400+ but luckily i bought an extended warranty when i bought the car so it covered that cost. Its happening again, so i have to take it in to the dealer when i can to get it checked again. Not a good feeling when your trying to merge into traffic and you expect the car to move when you hit the gas, and it moves just enough to get the nose of the car into the lane of travel, then stops dead while cars are bearing down on you. Extremely scary. Hoping this is not a continual recurring event.update: took the car to the dealer the first week of april and again today, first week of may (the 3rd) 2010 for the exact same problem mentioned above- while driving car just slows down, no power.step on the gas, nothing.then it kicks in and hesitantly moves.this is the 3rd or 4th time taken to the dealer for the same problem with the transmission.gettingticked off about it now.....
Automatic transmission failure in 4th gear on 2005 mazda 6. We bought the car new and 2years later the transmission started slipping in 4th gear. I complained to the dealer and they said they found nothing. The third year it became pronounced and still they said they found nothing. I found out last year that mazda knew about the problem in the transmissions and never contacted us about a replacement transmission. I went to the dealership when i found out late last year and i was told that they could no do anything about it as the car was over the mileage. I strongly feel that mazda knew the transmissions were defective and never notified owners. We are the only registered owners of the vehicle and it is an accident waiting to happen because once the vehicle gets in the 4th gear it vibrates and shakes the whole car violently.
2006 mazda6 grand touring hesitated when accelerating and de-accelerating.the gears also became stuck.the vehicle has been taken to the dealer multiple times for air conditioning/heater problems., radio/cd and condensation on the inside of the windshield.

The mazda 6 jerks when shifting from 1st gear to second. Did this a couple times while in traffic almost causing an accident.it feels like the car is hesitant to shift and then shifts and jerks you forward when there are possibly other cars in front and you need to stop.i brought the car in multiple times to the dealer and they "could not replicate the problem".
Leased 2005 mazda 6 in july 2005.september 2005: took in for service for check engine light.dealership replaced a purge canister valve.while driving vehicle after repairs were made, i heard a high-pitched whirring noise from the engine and returned the vehicle to the dealership for service.tech determined noise was coming from transmission.trans. Was replaced two times; noise did not go away.tech then determined it was the fuel pump.that was replaced but noise remained.tech then suspected the fuel lines were vibrating, added a clip to prevent rubbing and noise disappeared.that took 28 days.day after vehicle left dealership, fuel tank leaked fuel upon starting the vehicle.dealership determined that a cap had not been tightened.cap was tightened and car was returned but smelled awful.dealership shampooed interior. June 2006: while driving, tachometer suddenly bounced and vehicle did not respond to accelerator being pressed.after turning car off and restarting it, car worked fine, but was taken to dealership.tech replaced throttle body.april 2007: vehicle stalled while waiting at traffic light.attempts to restart failed.vehicle was towed to dealership.tech determined that a fuel pump fuse had become disconnected.fuse was replaced.one week later, fuel tank leaked upon starting the vehicle.vehicle was towed to dealership again.fuel pump assembly had to be replaced.i do not have vehicle back yet.
After a modest acceleration to pull into traffic, i had to stop suddenly due to a light and the car began to rev up to 1500 and back down over and over.i had to pull over immediately where it continued to rev and die down, regardless if i was in a gear or park.it is an automatic.i turned off the car and restarted, the problem went away but the engine light remained on for two days.i plan on taking to the dealer.it is only 7 months old, i bought it new.
Dt:consumer says he is having problem with transmission. Transmission will drop gears on its own, consumer just had vehicle at dealer for transmission slippage and harsh shifting. Consumer said that dealer did a software calibration on the transmission control module. Consumer says now when he is traveling on highway and consumer tries to accelerate transmission will drop from 4th gear to 3rd gear by itself and this makes acceleration very difficult. While driving vehicle in city consumer says that transmission will drop from 4th to 2ndwhile trying to accelerate. Consumer notices which gear by the indicator light located on dash. Consumer says that slippage and harsh shifting is now corrected, but he is having problem with transmission dropping gears. Consumer says he has an email that he somehow come into position of, this email is from ford and says that there is a problem with this transmission in other vehicles as well as same type as consumer. Consumer says that this problem began yesterday morning and dropped gears like this about 30 times in 24 hours. Consumer says that the malfunction took part mostly yesterday and this morning in south field, mi. Consumer says that he drove as much in the city as he did on the highway yesterday and this morning.
The vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission.when the vehicle was parked for over 8 hours outdoors in direct sunlight, the vehicle would not shift out of park.failure occurs only on extremely hot days - temperatures over 95 degrees and only when all the windows & sunroof were completely closed.vehicle was allowed to sit with the engine running and air conditioner on high for roughly 15-20 minutes.when interior temperature of car lowered, the car was able to shift out of park.the problem replicated sporadically but on at least 10 different occasions over the course of 2 years.the vehicle was brought to dealership on numerous occasions where they were unable to replicate the problem.during one service visit a mechanic cleaned the microswitch responsible for the shift interlock.that did not remediate the problem.
The clutch on my mazda 6 no longer works correctly and i only have 33,248 miles on my car.mazda usa said there's nothing they can do about it.they said before they'd even consider any help,i should take it to a mazda dealer (17 miles from my house) and have it diagnosed ($110 for diagnostic testing).in order to get it there, i'd have to have it towed because it's so far from where i live, i'd have to pay for the tow to and from the dealership.the cost estimate for the mazda dealer to replace my clutch is $1000-$1300. They went on to state that if it is a defective item, before helping me, they'd look to see whether i was "loyal" in getting the car serviced with one of their dealers.the closest dealer is 17 miles away, am i supposed to drive that far for an oil change?i bought the car in 2005 brand new from santa monica mazda which has since closed down.the clutch went out while i was driving on the freeway and i've been driving manual cars for 20+ years.this is not fair and mazda doesn't care.they really suck...as this clutch should have lasted 100,000 miles.the consumer stated mazda replaced the clutch on september 2, 2010 under the goodwill program.the issue has been resolved. The day before father's daywas the first time it happened. (june 20, 2015). I went to target and i couldn't get out of my seatbelt when i turned the car off. I jiggled it and pushed on it repeatedly until i heard it click again and it finally released. Left driver seat became unhinged while in motion.it lunges back and does not set in place.no impacts from accidents.the switch to lower/raise the seat works perfectly.the seat rocks back and forth.
Dt*: the contact stated while stopped at a stop light; a vehicle traveling 30 mph rear ended the contact.during the accident, the driver and passenger side seats moved forward causing injuries to the driver and passenger.the dealership determined the pins which enable the driver and passenger seats to be adjusted and moved sheared off, causing the seats to come unlocked and move forward during the accident.the passenger side seat was pushed all the way back prior to the accident, but during the accident, the seat moved forward.seat belts were in use at the time of the accident and did work properly.there were no problems with the seats staying locked in position prior to the accident.a police report was taken.

I was driving with my 7 year old in my 2005 mazda 6 when i noticed the car was accelerating on its own just a little bit. I didn't think much of it at the time. About 2 minutes later the rpms went up and down 3 times( 1000 rpms each time). Immediately after that, my brakes stopped working while i was going about 35 mph. I had the brake pedal floored and it barely stopped in time. I managed to stop with my emergency brake and put on my hazard lights for a few minutes while the car was still running. I had to get out of the road so i attempted to reverse very slowly and the brakes were suddenly working. I pulled the car in a parking lot with no brake problems and got it towed to a shop. The shop is telling me they are not finding any problems but i don't feel safe in the car without an answer! im worried it may happen again and cause an accident next time.
In under 33,000 miles and only 20 months of service the brake fluid in my mazda 6 sport wagon is contaminated due to being hydroscopic.it is defective and must be flushed and re-filled.having had 25 cars (own and company provided) over the last 25 *updated 12/12/07 updated 12/12/07
At 28,000 mi i had to replace the front brakes on my mazda 6 sport wagon--right side at 4, left side at 1. I went to three different places--they all said the wear was incredibly uneven due to a fault with the brakes. My (no longer) mazda dealer sil-tehar in co said the difference was within their acceptable limits. Obviously, i didn't take the car to the dealer for service. The people who did service it found a part missing--a clip that helps the pad separate from the wheel. The only people who had actually taken the brakes apart (until the replacement) was the dealer. So either they didn't put the clip back when they took them apart or the clip was missing to start--which could explain the incredibly uneven wear.
At 42,000 miles, i started to experience incredible vibrations when applying the brakes. According to the repair shop, the rotors were warped to the point that they had to be replaced, they couldn't be resurfaced or evened up-something like that..
My car was making a clicking sound and i could fell it in the steering wheel when i was turning. I took it to a mechanic thinking it was a ball joint. He said i needed to replace the control arm it was rusted and ready to fall apart. So i did and it was expensive. The other side wasn't in bad shape at that time but was starting to deteriorate. Well now that one side is stronger than the other it has deteriorated fast and also needs to be replaced asap. I just wanted to complain because i saw the recall for the tribute and i seem to have the same problem as well.
The contact owned a 2005 mazda mazda6. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 mph, the consumer rear ended another vehicle. After the crash, the contact noticed that the b post on the frame was on fire, there was on damage to side of car. Why did it catch fire?a tow truck appeared on the scene and extinguished the fire. The vehicle was then towed to an insurance lot where it was classified as destroyed. The police and fire department also appeared on the scene to file reports. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000. Updated 09/14/2011 *ln
I noticed my vehicle was starting to drive funny. I keep up on it very well, routine maintenance, wash it often, fresh alignments, new tires when needed. So i thought something was up and took it into a garage. I was called the next day and was told i had a hole in my passenger side right subframe. I was very surprised by this because the car is very clean underneath for the year and in good condition compared to the usual new york rust. I did some research and this is a ongoing problem with these cars around my year and sadly many people have experienced this. My vehicle has no recalls and mazda doesn't want to take care of the bill so sadly i'm stuck with a car that should be recalled.

The rear suspension of this car is weird, in that it is lower on one side. In my case, the rear right side of my car is lower and the fenders hit my wheel when i hit a dip in the road or have a passenger in the back seat. This is very dangerous because it wears out the tire and could eventually rip it open putting many on the road at risk. It is not the shocks or the springs because i replaced both of those on both sides. I have read of many cases like mine online and would like mazda to take responsibility for this hazard.

My daughter and were at the top of the on-ramp for i-64 east bound, at south charleston, wv. This is a long merge lane that becomes the far-right lane on i-64. We were driving at 40 to 42 mph, as attested to by two witnesses. A t this point we felt a left "shimmy" in the rear of our 2005 mazda 6 hatchback (front wheel drive, with anti-skid brakes, and sensors to signal the other wheel if one wheel begins to slide). My daughter corrected the shift and we continued in the merge lane. Within a few seconds we experienced a violent jerk to the left in the rear of the car. It threw us into a swerve, but, my daughter regained control, and we were again headed east. Within seconds, the rear again jerked left violently. We were thrown into a clockwise spin and hurtled into the median wall, then propelled backward. The car was totaled. The drivers door opened when my daughter applied force to it, but, the passenger door wouldn't open until my daughter pulled from the outside as i shoved with my feet inside. The hood was up, smoke & steam poured out, & we heard popping sounds. I was able to exit when my daughter pulled on the outside and i pushed with my feet on the inside. Fortunately, there was no traffic in the immediate area & oncoming traffic was distant enough to stop before reaching us. There was a husband and wife whom had been driving behind us since the entrance of the on ramp and `witnessed the entire accident. They called 911, then pulled to the side of the interstate to wait for emergency and police help to arrive. The husbandhelped me sit down and asked if i was alright, then said, "i've never seen anything like that before in my life. The entire rear of your car just slid out from under you to the left". In 36 years of driving, dealing with different weather, road surfaces, day and night, have never experienced what happened with our car.our insurance sent a crash inquiry, but no accident reports came back. She suggested i file a report with this agency.
I received a paper saying it was recalled

The car unexpectedly accelerated with my foot ofthe gas pedal. I was driving around a curb at about 20 mph and all of sudden it increased to 40 mphs, and the rpm needle jumped up and down, and finally it got stuck at 3rps. I was on a flat surface and the vehicle continued to accelerate and make loud engine sounds. I tired to brake but the car continued to accelerate, i kept driving until i was able to let other cars pass, and pull over and put it in neutral.in neutral the car still accelerated, and made noises, that i then put it in parked. However in park the rpm was still stuck at 3 and the mph needle bounce between 0-40 mph. Finally after a minute the needle drop to 0 mph, and i turned the car off and restarted it. After waiting 5 minutes i restarted the car and it acted like nothing ever happen. The next day after driving 15 minutes it repeated the same activity. I have contacted my dealership and set up an appointment. Apparently this is a common problem with mazda between 03-05 with acceleration issues. However the is very dangerous, for me and my children and other drivers on the road. This could cause a accident or even death. This is something mazda needs to take seriously and needs to recall and repair to correct the problem.

Headlights just stop working. I have to hit a bump in the road to turn it back on. Very disappointing.

4/28/08 i drove to an appointment (25 miles) at which point it began to rain.i inadvertently turned on the rear wiper an immediately turned it off once i noticed it hit the bike rack on the back.there was a strong odorous burning smell.the smell was still present on the my return trip back home.4/29/08 i did not notice the burning smell to and from work (2 miles).4/30/08 on a trip downtown i was caught in rush hour traffic with my kids in the car.after about 45 minutes both the kids and i noticed a strong burning smell.i asked my son to check the rear window as it appeared smoke was now coming from the window/panel area. He yelled that it was smoke and that we need to pull over.rear wipers had been turned off since monday.we were able to get off the expressway and park to check out the damage.upon opening the hatch aburning smell was quite intense.the plastic covering of the rear hatch (near the window) extremely hot and was too hot to touch.i immediately called the local mazda dealership to ask what i should do and i was told that the service technicians had gone home for the day (4:30pm). I figured that i could pull the fuse which would remove the power source thus preventing any further damage.my son and i were able to remove the fuse and it appeared to have solved the problem for the return trip but it was difficult to tell as the car already had a strong burning smell within.i immediately called my father (a former auto worker in michigan) to discuss this with him and he said the fuse should have blown and that it should not have escalated to the point of burning and smoking.he could provide no reason why the fuse would not have blown.i am scheduled for 5/14/08 to have this incident evaluated by the dealer.
