Driver air bag inflator final repair notice - safety recall 8215f. I took my vehicle when i received the first notice and went to jim falk mazda in kahului, maui, hawaii and they told me sorry we don't have the part to replace yet but will call me when it comes in and that was about a year ago.now i received the 2nd and final notice and i called two days ago to the same place and again they told me they were going to look into it and call me back. Well no call back yet and i am getting very upset that they don't feel that this is important to call people back to fix this important problem. Being that the airbag is important you would think that they would order the part asap and call you to come in and have it replaced.

On the 2004 mazda3 after about 3000 miles the main airbag light illuminates, indicating a failure of some kind in the srs system. The testing system returns 2 or 3 error codes having to do with the front crash sensor. And the air bag will not deploy, from what i can gather from internet message boards.mazda is handling this on a case by case basis, rather than making a blanket repair. It seems the front crash sensors are tightened too much and crack, then once they get wet they are tripped and disable the system. Local dealers are saying you can not drive your vehicle like this and are holding customers cars for weeks at a time till parts come in. Which in most cases have been back ordered, some have had the sensors replaced 2 or more times. In my case a local dealer (not the purchase dealer) are telling me that an after market remote start is totally to blame., and will not diagnose the car further until the system is removed. And it could have voided my warranty. This is just not right. I am currently driving a car i am assuming has no airbags and with no option to get it looked at unless i remove a $300.00 accessory that was professionally installed by an electronics center that does all the work for the dealership i bought the car from.also on the drop downs for the vehicle types - i had to use the 6 since you do not have the 3 listed. Thank you for any help you can give all of us mazda 3 ownersi would like some one to look into this and make mazda fess up. *n,

I received a recall for airbags and mazda continues to tell me they don't have the parts and they don't have any idea when they will get parts for my car. I was told it will probably be a few more months. I have absolutely no faith that mazda will ever fix my car !!

2004 mazda 6s was involved in a single car accident.the car was speeding and went over a curb, and the driver lost control of the vehicle. The back right end, front end, and both sides had extensive damage (the vehicle was declared totaled).the car did 1 complete roll-over during the accident, landing on all 4 wheels again.none of the airbags in the vehicle deployed.i contacted the car manufacturer to find information about when the airbags should deploy, and they told me "it was not their issue", and to contact my insurance company.i have yet to find any information until this website.

I want to complain about my recall not being replaced in a reasonable amount of time.going on 11 months, still no solution, and i was told not to drive with a passenger until it gets fixed.ridiculous.airbags were recalled in december 2015. In january 2016 i called mazda to get this scheduled and went in late february once the parts came in.i was told both my driver and passenger airbag would be replaced that day.when i picked up my car i was told only the drivers side had been done and i'd be contacted about the passenger side soon.one month later i get a call saying my other airbag part was in.i called to make an appointment and then was told, no wait, it wasn't.a few months later i received a call confirming my appointment for my airbag.great but i didn't have an appointment.i called and they didn't know what i was talking about but would look in to it.3 days later i was called again and said my part was in to make an appointment.so i did.i skipped work to bring my car in, show up, and was told that there was no part and there never was.i was told the part wasn't even available and not to drive my car with a passenger until its fixed.i then received calls from mazda's chicago office and letter in the mail stating indeed, parts weren't available yet and reiterated not to drive with a passenger until its fixed.that was over 4 months ago at this point.it's absurd that a recall that can severely injure myself or my passengers has taken 11 months with no solution.and to be told "don't drive with a passenger" is even more absurd.i use my car for day to day life, that is not an option.i just want my recall fixed.i know many people that had both their sides fixed, why is mine taking 11 months an counting with multiple times being screwed around and over 4 months of silence now? if someone gets hurt, i'm suing the [xxx] out everyone.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

While driving 45 mph, the consumer crashed into the vehicle in front of him.theair bags failed todeploy and the consumer sustained minor injuries.

I was in a front-impact collision going approximately 10 mph.the damage to my mazda 6 was very minimal to the fender.the truck i hit had no damage whatsoever.both driver and passenger side airbags deployed in the vehicle.the auto body shop said they could not understand why the airbags deployed in such a minor collision.both airbags need to be replaced at a very costly price.

I bought this car for 3,000 from the owner had it for 2 months, got oil and all fluids changed. When i was leaving my house a block away it totally died on me and now it wont start at all. I am very frustrated because i dont have the money to buy abother one. Or even repair it.

Vehicle has needed 3 battery replacements within past 2 years.last incident was when vehicle had been idle for 5 days and needed jump starting.vehicle ran ok for a couple of hours but after sitting idle for about 6 hours the battery was dead again.the next day an attempt to jump start the vehicle failed.in addition, many electrical components started up.the electric windows rolled down and wipers turned on by themselves.vehicle was towed to mazda dealership.first diagnosis was bad alternator.alternator was overcharging.second diagnosis was a failed cpm / computer.dealership said overcharging alternator shorted out cpm.also fuses etc. Had been blown out.parts have been ordered but vehicle has not been repaired as of this note.

Originally, 5 months ago, i noticed a problem with my 2004 mazda 6i at when stopped at a red light. I noticed the cars idle pick up and the dashboard display flickered. The problem went away and the car was fine. A week later, i was driving on the freeway and again the dashboard started flickering and the car would not accelerate and hesistated to stay at a consistent speed. This was highly dangerous as i could not keep up with the flow of traffic and could have easily caused an accident. The problem ceased in a span of 2 minutes and the car was fine. I immediately scheduled an appointment at my local mazda service center and after two days of investigating, they could not find the problem, therefore they could not fix the problem. The problem actually never occured again until a few weeks ago. I was driving home and i noticed some hesitency in acceleration and as i pulled in my garage, the car flat out stalled. I took the car out on roads that were not busy and the problem did not happen again. Then last night as i was pulling in on, the exact problem that happened previously happened again and my car stalled after entering my garage. I am some what fearful of driving my car on the freeway with the thought it could stall out.

My battery on my 2004 mazda 6 went out and i had to jump start it to.go to work and come from work one day. The next day i took my battery to get checked to see what the issue was and they told me my battery was completely dead and it had only 6 months of usage. I put a new battery in my vehicle and as i installed the new battery i unplugged it to see if my alternator would kick in to make sure it was working correctly and as i put the battery back on a shortage happens and my wipers came on at full speed and all my lights were blinking on my dash and a smell of electrical wires burning started to happen and the entire electrical system has messed up. Turn signal lights don't work, headlights, bose stereo, hazard lights, reverse lights truck don't open windows don't go up or down and while i drive the speedometer does not track the velocity the needle goes crazy and my e-brake light is on and track control light is blinking and the air bag lights come on all the time . I do not know where to start to fix this issue but i'm really disappointed in this because i just have 8 months with my vehicle from a dealer ship and they checked out car just fine. This is going to be a super high cost to repair all the damages. Just from a change of a battery. And to top it all thank god i wasn't in the car because their was a small fire in the wires but it went away quick.

Engine will shut off without warning at any speed.i researched the issue and found that there are a large number of complaints regarding the exact same symptoms with the 2003-2005 mazda 6.mazda even released a service bulletin: 01-016/06 in 2006 regarding a bad throttle body with aa, ab, or ba markings.sure enough after removing the throttle body, mine had the aa markings.from the amount of online complaints and the fact that a service bulletin was released, this is not an isolated issue.this is a huge safety concern and should be a safety recall.to top it off, currently mazda has an issue with replacement throttle body's that will cause the car to jerk and stall at anytime.they have admitted that the current new stock of throttle bodies will not work with my vehicle.this will cause people to keep driving with a bad throttle body since there is no replacement.

"takata recall" i parked my car when i got off work. The next day i went to crank my car it would turn over but it wouldn't start, so i took it to a mechanic and he said my computer was out. The vehicle was stationary in my yard

Bought new2004 mazda6 and already had to replace the alternator also mazda informed me that starter will need to be replaced soon. Why am i replacing these parts so soon.

The contact owns a 2004 mazda 6. While driving 30 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and the battery was replaced, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the oil needed to be changed and the starter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. After the vehicle was serviced and while driving at an unknown speed, an abnormal sound emitted from under the hood and the check oil warning light illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that there was metal fragments in the oil and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 115,000.

Ignition coils keep failing on mazda 6 which could cause an accident because of loss of power. Other people we know with mazdas have the same problem.

Kept put its self ingear which is a safety mode !!! so i went to change the battery and smelled something burning and the fuse for the radio was blown and every time i went to change the fuse it would blow.so i took it to the shop to see what was wrong and they had to replace the radio some wiringalternator was putting out 17 volts and burned out the wiring!!! this is a common problem with this car and should be covered!!!

Repeated throttle body issues, car while driving will drop to a crawl with erratic revving. Did this in the middle of the express way, nearly causing an accident, had to be towed away. Will not start do to revving loop caused by throttle body. Multiple tsb have been issued for this problem, so it seems the throttle body issues plague many customers.

Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle intermittently will not start.the vehicle often starts if the key is turned to the start position and held there for over a minute.the vehicle was taken to the local dealership numerous times for inspection.the dealer replaced the fuel pump; however that did not remedy the problem. The consumer also stated the entire vehicle vibrated while driving.updated 02/07/06.

I own a 2004 mazda 6 sports sedan which still has a factory warranty.my wife & i are having electrical issues with the car which is causing a 15 amp fuse to keep blowing.this fuse controls the horn, brake lights, turn signals, & cruise control.we have taken this car to the dealership for the same problem 3 times now & all they seem to do is replace the fuse with a new one & send us on our way with no explanation of why it is blowing.they advise me that they have tested all electrical systems & can't find any problems.i have a huge problem with this occurring because my wife & i have no way of knowing this fuse is blown until we exit the vehicle & attempt to arm the alarm & hear no horn, or someone lets us know our break lights & turn signals are not working.not to mention this is a major safety hazard driving in stop & go traffic!the car gives no warning what so ever & if someone hits the vehicle in the rear due to no brake lights i do not feel obligated to file an insurance claim on the other driver.....mazda corporation should be totally liable for any accident that may occur due to this defect!

Constant overheating problems. Changed everything from hoses to radiator, thermostat and gasket but it still comes on after a while. Spent sooo much money on this and the other day smoke erupted from car when driving and got in accident. Former owner had same problem.

The v6 motor in my mazda 6s has been leaking oil for almost 10 of the 12 years i've owned it. The oil leaks out of the faulty seals on the timing chain cover in front of the passenger, and the oil drops onto the catalytic converter. This oil vaporizes and that vapor enters the cabin in slow speed driving and when stopped at intersections. I complained about a burning oil smell many times while the car was still under warranty, and the mazda service techs always pretended like they didn't find any problem. Years down the road, i am finding this is a rampant problem with all ford and mazda cars and suvs with this "duratec" 3.0 v6 which was made by ford. It is installed in many ford, mercury and mazda vehicles. I carry a fire extinguisher with me in the event i have an under hood fire, and i'm very worried about my health after all these years of breathing this vapor. The cost to repair this seal failure is daunting. I hope mhtsa can see that ford has been covering up this defect, endangering lives and the health of drivers as well as creating a tough financial burden on the owners to fix the issue. I gave a date on the form below, since it was required, but this has been going on since 2006 or so.

The contact owns a 2004 mazda 6. While driving at an unknown speed, the contact smelled a burning odor and noticed white smoke coming from the hood of the vehicle and inside the vehicle. The contact turned off the engine and the smoke disappeared. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine burned out and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vin and failure mileage were unknown.

I bought this car for 3,000 from the owner had it for 2 months, got oil and all fluids changed. When i was leaving my house a block away it totally died on me and now it wont start at all. I am very frustrated because i dont have the money to buy abother one. Or even repair it.

Engine started knocking out of no where really lost power it spun the bearing and rod in the engine its the 2.3 liter engine mazda has had several complaints about this from 2004 to 2006 i have several people that have had the same issue like i said could cause major accidents it was not low on oil and was not ready for its maintenance mazda needs to be held accountable for this.

Re: mazda 6 v6 made in the ford/mazda auto alliance factory in flat rock, mi. The miles/speed i listed are actually n/a - this is an ongoing problem that has existed for most of the 10 years i've owned this car. I complained about smelling burning oil coming into the car's cabin since the car was only 1 year old, but the mazda repair techs appeared to "never notice the smell". It was more than a year or so after my warranty ended - despite a dozen instances of complaining to mazda dealers of this smell - that i realized my problem was oil leaking from my v6 motor's timing chain cover. The oil leaks down the side & bottom of the motor & drips (only while driving, never while resting) onto the top of one of the exhaust system's catalytic converters. The intense heat of the converter vaporizes the oil, the result of which enters the car's cabin through the hvac system. I have been adding a quart of oil almost every two months for years now, breathing this carcinogenic vapor and worrying about an engine fire for the better part of a decade now. Leading up to discovering the leak, i had replaced my valve cover gaskets & oil pan & gaskets at great cost. The proper repair for this would likely require removing my car's engine & a 12 hour repair at $100 per hour, and that's just the labor. When researching this problem, it appears in online forums to be a consistent problem for hundreds (likely thousands) of owners, and variations of this ford-made v6 engine are installed in a dozen ford and mazda cars. I firmly believe that over the years ford - knowing this was a consistent problem - advised it's dealer network to keep hush-hush and pretend to not understand or notice the problem in an effort to avoid a costly recall campaign. I feel that the time has come for ford, not mazda, to pay the piper, and i would like my car repaired without a financial hardship placed upon me.

The way the catalytic converter is designed on cylinders 1, 3,and5 it gets clogged but buy than your rings and bearing have overheated destroying your engine with in athousand miles of replacing the catalytic converter you find this out. I was driving home the engine was at normal temp driving fine.. Than the car would not go over five mph. Had it towed to the local grage. 1 of the catalytic converters was clogged on cylinders 1, 3 and, 5 had it replaced plus and oil change. Car worked fine for about a week and half than a loud tick and knock started next day had it looked at my oil was gray and you could see the blow buy when the engine was running. Tore into the engine a bit and bearing where destroyed. I was told i'm not the first person this haloed to. And after researing this online i found a lot of other people that this also happens to.

Transmission problems....it wont reverse, it's making scary noises and it's jerking none stop. Mechanic said i have to get it rebuild, i had over 20 quotes for a price to get it rebuild but i cant afford it..please recall the 3.0 automatic transmission...i looked on the internet and i saw that hundreds and hundreds of people are complaining aboutthe same problem with mazda 6 2004 transmissions and we cant afford it. The lowest price was starting at 1500 not including labor. Im a single mom with two toddlers, im working and i cant even get it fixed.

The contact owns a 2004 mazda, mazda6. While the vehicle was parked, the contact smelled burnt oil. The oil light never illuminated but the next morning when he started the vehicle, the contact noticed that the engine was knocking. He added oil to the engine and had the vehicle towed to an authorized dealer. The dealer stated that the cam had slipped which caused extensive damage to the engine. The vehicle had not been repaired. The dealer was speaking with warranty personnel and the manufacturer at the time of the complaint. The current and failure mileages were approximately 85,000.

Aug 27 engine noise, aug 29 mazda diagnosed internal engine damage. 2004 19,000 miles under warranty-mazda wont repair, says the oil change of 7-23 was not performed correctly. $8000-$9000 to fix engine, nothing done at this time , trying to find an attorney.

2004, 5speed mazda6 catches fire and burns to a crisp.getting onto a highway a loud "pop" was heardthen there was smoke-popped the hood alot more smoke checked under the carfor leaks saw orange glow-10 seconds later the car was up in flames.

Constant overheating problems. Changed everything from hoses to radiator, thermostat and gasket but it still comes on after a while. Spent sooo much money on this and the other day smoke erupted from car when driving and got in accident. Former owner had same problem.

Engine is throwing a rod, needs new engine, no check engine light or other warning lights present to alert to impending failure.

2004 mazda 6 made a rattling sound in the front end. Upon inspection mechanic determined the radiator had a hole in it, and one fan blade broke off of the fan.***nar***the hole in the radiator caused steam to come from under the hood.although it was evident that the vehicle was overheating the temp gauge remained in the normal range and did not indicate overheating.

Consumer requesting information to be included inmazda owners manual.that vehicle may cut out or lose power , etc. While driving.the consumer requested to have information added to the manual regarding the consumers need to watch rpm's and let off of the gas before the engine gets to the red line and shuts itself down.when the throttle is fully depressed while passing, the engine downshifts as it is supposed to but will never upshift again until the driver consciously pats the accelerator to make it upshift or the engine hits the redline on the rpm module.*tc

Driving on a highway from chicago to wisconsin i noticed a knock in my engine that turned into 2 thrown pistons through my engine block.i work for a crash test facility.cars are a daily component in my life.the engine had 45,000 miles on it and mazda rejected my warranty claim.i ended up settling with the dealership and transferring my loan to a used car.i wanted to post this occurrence of engine failure to make sure it wasn't a common occurrence.

Pre catalytic converter failed, destroying my v6 engine. I thought it was a joke, but i heard several cases with other people with the same vehicle; 2004 mazda 6s. $3000 for 4 new catalytic converters and $4000 for a new v6 engine=$7000....i don't think so.

Dt:air conditioner will fog up the windshield. It blows through the defroster and it blows moisture on the windshield. This happens mostly in the morning and evening and when it rains. Dealer and manufacturer said there was nothing they could do. The materialon the seats was coming a apart, the door handles were inoperative.

The contact owns a 2004 mazda 6.the contact stated that the exterior lighting fails to remain illuminated on the vehicle.he has changed the bulbs at least ten times, but the failure persists.he feels that this is a safety issue because a serious crash could occur without the lights working properly.the contact has been pulled over by the police three times for driving without lights.the current and failure mileages were 118.

Headlights do not illuminate well on our 2004 mazda 6 . They have already been replaced and looked at by the dealer twice and the problem still persists. The lights are so dim that it is seriously hard to see at night, so we can only drive this car in the daylight. We are afraid to run over something or someone, or get pulled over because of this issue, and we are afraid this may cause a car crash as well. Unfortunately, there is just not anything that will fix it. The auto dealer doesn't even want to deal with this anymore and have rejected our warranty. They said that the car has been tampered with or altered and so have declined to recognize the warranty on it. However, we know there has not been any tampering nor altering! the car is the way it came. This may very well be a manufacture defect that mazda doesn't want to deal with.

Smell gasoline fumes inside car, smells stronger while ridding in back seat. Check engine light stays on all most all the time. Goes off once in a great while for 5 to 10 min then goes back on. Been happening since i bought the car in 2012. Had diagnostic test done said it was the o2 sensor. Replaced it. Lightwas off when i picked the car up. Drove 6 miles light came back on again.and hasn't went off since. Still smell fuel fumes inside car.

I have been having trouble with the headlights and fog lights on my 2004 mazda 6s.i have had to replace the bulbstwice in the last 1.5 months, by a dealership.they are burning out, but not the brights.the dealership, central mazda, in plainfield, ct, had put the vehicle through a series of electrical tests this morning and can't seem to locate the problem.the dealership has only charged me for the first replacement, but i am not sure this will continue to be a free service.i have no other complaints at all about the car.i bought it new.

The contact owns a 2004 mazda 6.the headlight bulbs failed simultaneously.the dealer replaced the bulbs four times, but the failure was not corrected.the contact replaced the bulbs with aftermarket bulbs.the replacement worked temporarily.the dealer stated that a diagnostic would cost $80 because the vehicle was out of warranty and the failure could be due to the aftermarket bulbs.the current mileage was 102,000 and failure mileage was 40,000.

Engine failed while driving because of a problem with the throttle body. There was no warning.found that mazda has known about this problem since may 2006 in fact there is a service bulletin that completely identifies this situation down to the part number code on the defective part. Bulletin number 01-016/06. This happened on a major freeway at 70 mph, it was just luck that i was able to get off of the highway without a major incident.my car was under warranty when this bulletin came out why was it not replaced or recalled..i have seen recalls for many things with less safety impact.i was charge $473 for the repair.

2004 mazda 6 wagon.during the 6 months i have owned this vehicle. I have had four occurrences when taking a highway ramp that the car either stalls or looses power when re-entering the roadway. This occurs when the fuel tank is a 1/4 full and below.

I am the original owner of the vehicle, i complained of engine surge on several visits to mazda, and they would always say they were unable to duplicate the problem.i was recently driving the vehicle when it accelerated on it's own, the rpm's would fluctuate between 2 and 4.the vehicle accelerated uncontrollably, i had difficulty stopping at stop signs and traffic lights on my way to my mechanic.when i reached his garage i left the vehicle in park to show him what it was doing and it idled at 3 rpms.the mechanic has not been able to repair the vehicle.i have researched the problem and have found that other mazda and ford vehicles have had similar issues.

You seems to have some problems from your clutch which affected the transmission. Your warranty is up, and we would have fixed the problem had we noticed it before 3,000 miles. But, no need to worry.....we'll put you in a rental car...."

Driver door will not open from inside or out, this is very dangerous because if im in an accident how will i get out?i travel with two kids so if i need to get out in case of emergency i have no time to crawl over seat to get them. Plz help with this issue.

Driver door lock and it will not open.

The driver's door on my 2004 mazda 6 will not open.this car has electric locks.all doors open except the driver's door.the dealership told me the latch was bad and it will cost $400 to repair.this creates a safety hazard.if i am in a wreck, i can't open the door to get out.there should be a way to manually disengage the locking mechanism in case of emergency.this is a manufacturing defect and engineering defect.this is a big safety issue with this car.

Driver side door would not open from outside with key or inside with latch.i've been using the key to open the doors for the past year because both remotes stopped working.all doors unlocked but the driver side.itlooked like the driver latch was not moving to the fully open position.i lowered the window and tried to move the interior latch manually but it would not move.i entered the door from the passenger side in order to drive.i checked today and there are currently no recalls on my vehicle.i called the dealership and they quoted $280 for a replacement part.nada says its the vehicle is worth about $2000, i can get about $400 as scrap.i think its time to get rid of a car when it no longer wants to let you in or out of it.

Driver door stuck.

The contact owns a 2004 mazda, mazda6. The front driver side door would not open from the outside. The contact entered the vehicle from the front passenger side door and noticed the front driver side door also would not open from the inside. Thevehicle was taken to an independent mechanic but they were unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 110,000 and the current mileage was 113,000.

The contact owns a 2004 mazda 6.the contact stated that the driver'sside front door would not unlock.shetried to unlock the door with the key, the remote, and manually, but it continued to fail.the dealer was unable to unlock the door and diagnose the failure.the current and failure mileages were 73,000.

Car is a mazda 6 sport wagon 2004 with power door locks.this is not a complaint against a dealer or the manufacturer (mazda) at this point.they are currently working on the problem and i expect a satisfactory fix.the issue here is the failure mode of the part of the car in question which part is door locks.the first day we had the car, we had the driver's side door lock not open using the key fob or the key.we could not open the door for about 10 minutes and then, suddenly, it started working again.two days later, the failure re-occured in the same way and, again, we were able to get into the car eventually with repeated trial.this is the important part.on apr 21, my wife was driving the car and stopped at her destination.the failure of the driver's side door lock occured again but this time she was inside the car.she found she could not open the driver's side door by any means at all.the door was not jammed, it was just that the door would not unlock.the fob would not unlock, the manual button would not unlock and the door lever would not unlock.she had to climb over the console (no small feat) and get out through the passenger door.i believe this represents a significant risk to health and well-being as there are times when you might need to get out of a car to save life or limb.i think the failure mode of this lock should be investigated and evaluated for safety risk.

The door locks on the vehicle failed. As a result, i am unable to enter the car from the drivers side door. Furthermore, the remote control, key, interior latch, door handle will not open the door. As a result, i have to enter the car through the passenger side door and climb over the center console. This is a problem due to back surgery in which screws were placed in my lower back to stabilize to disk. Because the door will not open, the door panel can not be removed and thus there is no access to the failed parts. No one seems to want to work on the problem. This is a definite problem in that an escape from the car would be time consuming and impossible should an accident occur.updated 07/05/11

While parking on an incline i attempted to set the caras parking brake. With my foot on the brake pedal, i pulled the brake handle fully upward without holding the button. When i released my hand from the parking brake, i found the handle to still be in my hand because it had fallen back down as a result of never engaging. I attempted to set the parking brake a minimum of 4 more times with no success. In a final attempt, i pulled the handle swiftly and much more firmly upward at which point the brake finally became set. I retested the parking brake by releasing it and setting it again with success. I recently took the car in for service 11/8/04 because the car has a history of the parking break releasing by itself but it has never been totally unable to be set. Culver city mazda states that they were unable to duplicate the parking break failure so no repairs were made. It was suggested that when pulling up the brake handle i should not push the button, which is something i always practiced prior to this complication.

Driving normally, transmission gets struck in 1st, 2nd, 3rd or fourth gear.sometimes transmission will downshift very, very hard.

While driving back home the car started to slow down the speed , when i tried to shiftedto get more speed because i was on the expressway , it just died , i took a tow truck to my mechanic and he told me that the engine transmission wiring harness burned.

The contact owns a 2004 mazda mazda6. The contact stated that there was a recurring failure with the transmission.the transmission wiring had burned out, causing the fourth gear to fail. The vehicle was repaired twice for the same failure.the vin was not available. The failure mileage was unknown, but the current mileage was 130,000.

Over time, the clutch in my manual transmission 2004 mazda 6 v6 hatchback has been getting noisy, difficult to modulate with surprising sloppy movement in a sideways motion when being depressed, and has been greatly worrying me. Upon investigation, i discovered cracks in the formed and welded steel frame that holds the clutch pedal where the whole assembly bolts to the firewall. I've adjusted my clutch linkage, bled the hydraulic line and attempted to bend the frame back to square, but eventually this frame is going to fail and i will be unable to push the clutch and change gears. If this happens while driving, i could crash and be injured or killed. In addition, the clutch pedal frame, as it bends to the left with every shift, makes contact with an electrical/cpu box mounting frame next to the clutch, which is additionally worrisome. This welded steel frame is made from surprisingly light gauge metal and should have been designed to last the life of the car. This is a grave safety concern for all mazda 6s made in the ford auto alliance factory in flat rock, michigan. This component should be recalled!

Car just unexpectedly down shifts from 4th to 3rd gear.. Transmission revs . Have to stop the car. Can not take interstate because it may cause a wreck.. Alternator light and check engine light comes on.. Have to turn the car off and restart the car to reset gears..

I purchased my car used in october 2011. My car frequently stalls on the highway and i have to either pull off to the side of the highway to restart it or put it in neutral and restart it while coasting on the highway. This also happens at slow speeds but is clearly a safety issue at highway speeds. Mazda put out a service bulletin on the throttle body in 2006. I have been trying to purchase a replacement throttle body since july 2012 and have found it impossible to find the part and have been told the part is on a national back order. Obviously mazda knows there is a problem with the part or they wouldn't have put a service bulletin out. I feel mazda is putting lives at risk by not making the replacement part available.

Vehicle design problem that could easily result in fatality.2004 mazda 6s.this is the transmission that can either be run as full automatic or as a semi manual shift.when in a passing situation with the throttle fully open, the engine jumps into action and the transmission down shifts as it should.however, if the gas pedal is kept pressed down as in a passing situation, the transmission will not up shift at any point.the result is that the engine rpms will increase to the point of hitting the red line.at that point another feature shuts down the engine until the rpms are significantly below the red line.the result is loss of power at the most critical time in the passing maneuver.i was able to brake and return to the previous place behind the vehicle being passed, but almost did not make it.had i been much further forward i would certainly have collided with the oncoming traffic.i have contacted my local dealership and took it in for service.they tested it, talked with appropriate mazda service center experts and reported that there was no malfuntion - all setting were as they were supposed to be.i corresponded with north american mazda via email (attached) and forwarded that email string to your technical information service at [email protected] continues to say that niether design defect or malfunction exists.to them it is an operator problem.if so, anyone accustomed to the automatic transmissions in all other cars will find themselves in the same position, unaware of the potential.all other transmissions that i have experience with up shift at either a certain speed or vacuum level well before the engine can get to dangerous rpms.

My 2004 mazda 6 that i loved so much when i purchased it earlier this year, has become a vehicle i hate to drive. My car has a serious transmission problem (as best as i can tell). The first symptom is a horrible whine while idling or accelerating. While driving the noise is accompanied by terrible shifting. My rpms often approach 5 and the car jerks terribly when the transmission "catches". I feel as if my body is taking a beating every time i drive. I have had the car at the dealership on three occasions for this problem. The first time, they could not find a problem. The second time they replaced the water pump, i don't know why. And this last time they found the problem...they couldn't not this time, it had gotten so bad that i warned the driver picking it up to buckle up and hold on. He later reported to me it was the roughest ride of his life. The problem was reported to me as a programming problem and fixed. The only problem with that is here i am 10 days later, and it's right back to where it was before the repair. Can anyone say "lemon law"?

Shift shock when the automatic transmission changes gears.this is an intermittent, ongoing occurrence. Mazda has issued a "technical service bulletin (tsb)" (#05-005/05) to the dealers to repair this using a "flashing" of the computer system.warranty won't cover it because it involves the computer.it should be a recall item. The tsb states that the concern is caused by driven plate deformation due to a rapid rise in temperature in the 2-4 brake driven plate when repeated shifting is done with a cold engine.in part, it also states the logic has been changed to prevent an abnormal rise in 2-4 brake driven plate temperature.i have a copy of the bulletin and can fax if needed.

My 2004 mazda 6 was demonstrating a racing engine/problematic automatic transmission and shifting issues (the tachometer was fluttering and racing) as i was braking on a major road from 40 mph to a stop at a red light. The car would not slow. I manually shifted down from 4th to 3rd, and it still exhibited the same 'bouncing' revs on above 2000 rpm. As i applied my brakes the car was definitely hesitating to downshift and wasn't slowing well; i put it back into automatic "d" shifting and pressed firmly on the brakes to try to slow the vehicle. I halted very close to the next car in the line despite having started braking well before i needed to safely come to a stop in the vehicle. In first gear at a stop, the tach was fluttering from 1000 to 1800 (well outside the normal idle range of 900-1100) until i put the car in park, engaged the parking brake, and shut the vehicle off. When i restarted it seemed to be okay but it has done this on several occasions.

Bought this car in 2010 ever since i had it nightmare, the automatic transmission would bang between 1st and 2nd gear at just normal speed, the tires would spin because of this. It also would slip out of gear in 3rd with shifting up sometimes. But just recently i found out that the intake tube for the car had a giant hole in it. So fixed that and its not really banging 1st and 2nd but slips a little bit.

Occasionally car will not come out of park, took ittodealer twice for service.the first time they replaced a switch, second time could not find a problem.dealer service center recommended to use e-brake when parking, and thiswa s normal if parking on a incline. Problemgot worse, from analyzing the problem myself, determined that the incline or e-brake had no relation. Theproblem occurred during a very hot day when leaving work.determined that if it jerkedshifted itback and forth about 10 times, when i heard a click, at that time.i couldmove the shift lever out of park.

You seems to have some problems from your clutch which affected the transmission. Your warranty is up, and we would have fixed the problem had we noticed it before 3,000 miles. But, no need to worry.....we'll put you in a rental car...."

The clutch pedal bracket that holds the assembly to the firewall snapped in two at the point where the bracket meets one of the bolts that holds the bracket to the firewall.

I have a 2004 mazda6 wagon with an automatic transmission.i have brought the car into a mazda dealership twice to fix a rough shifting transmission.the car has 30,000 miles and is under warranty.the shifts between gears are frequently very rough and have been described by others in internet mazda forums as "shift shock."the burnsville, mn mazda dealer claims the transmission was designed to shift rough.i have asked to meet with a mazda representative.

While sitting in my parked car, i was burned by the seat warmer. This is not the first time that this has happened, but this was the most severe incident. I began to smell plastic burning-- this is quite frightening and could be potentially dangerous.

The heating kicks in (mostly when driving at night) and i never turned it on...i even removed the fuse and it still heats up...wierd...

I bought this car for 3,000 from the owner had it for 2 months, got oil and all fluids changed. When i was leaving my house a block away it totally died on me and now it wont start at all. I am very frustrated because i dont have the money to buy abother one. Or even repair it.

The contact owns a 2004 mazda 6. When the emergency brake was applied, the vehicle was able to roll backwards. The failure was intermittent. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 103,001.

After exiting a freeway and decelerating and braking normally, i waited behind other traffic for the light to change, with my foot on the brake and the gear selector in drive.suddenly, the engine rpms increased sharply and my car moved forward.i was unable to hold the car in place with the brake pedal.i depressed the brake so hard that i sensed the pulsing of the abs system.this was completely unexpected, so by the time i shifted into neutral, my car had struck the rear of the one ahead.i then turned off the ignition.no damage was done, and the other driver and i agreed it was a "non-reportable" accident.after the incident, i waited about 30 seconds and restarted the car.i continued to drive home without incident.my car had operated normally under various traffic conditions for the previous two hours.i was not using the air conditioning at the time; i was running the ventilator fan system.it is highly unlikely that i had depressed both brake and accelerator together, as i had just braked normally and did not move my foot from the brake pedal.(i checked later to see if it was even possible to touch both pedals simultaneously.i could not, without putting my foot at an awkward, angled position.)i also checked for a jammed floor mat, but it was well clear of the pedals.this unexpected acceleration occurred at ca. 66,000 mi.there was one such previous incident, at ca. 14,000 mi.the mazda dealer that regularly services the vehicle inspected the car and ran various electronic, throttle, and vacuum tests, with advice from mazda's national service center.no defects were found.a senior service manager also drove the car for some seven miles under various traffic conditions, but the problem did not recur.a service advisor at the dealership suggested it might be an intermittent electronics problem; and also that my wife and i shift from drive to neutral each time we stop in traffic, and watch then for sudden rpm increases.

The contact owns a 2004 mazda 6. The metal brake lines were rubbing against the cv boots.they have worn through both sides of the boots and resulted in holes forming in the brake lines itself per the mechanic.he also stated that this was a manufacturer's defect. The manufacturer has not been notified. The vehicle is currently in the repair shop. The failure and current mileage was 70,000. The vin number and engine size are unavailable.

While pulling into a parking space, the brakes disengaged, almost causing consumer's vehicle to crash into other vehicles.the dealer inspected the vehicle, and stated that the brakes were not defective.the consumer stated that the vehicle lunged forward during the incident. *sc

Car makes a noise from brakes when turining all the way to the left and applying pressure to the brakes. It's not a normal brake squeal, it's more of a moaning noise. It is definately coming from the driver's side front brake. It does not happen when it turns to the right. It also normally occurrs when the vehicle/brakes are hot. It has been occurring for the past 10 months. Two seperate mazda dealerships say there is no problem and they "can't reproduce the sound." at pinnacle mazda (renton, wa), the service manager said there was no problem. I had a mechanic ride with me to try and make the sound. During the ride, he stated that mazda has been having a "ton of complaints about brakes, especially the rx-8, but also on the mazda 6 and mazda 3." he further stated, "it doesn't seem like mazda can find a fix either." i thought this was interesting coming from a mazda mechanic. Ultimately, my car still makes the noise. I have a co-worker who has the same car, and it too makes the same noise.

Brakes suddenly failed while driving barely avoiding a serious collision.brakes were working fine before complete failure.upon inspection by a mechanic at midas the left front brake line was rubbing against the axle boot resulting in a break in the line and tearing of the boot. This resulted in a complete loss of brake fluid. Previously the right front brake line had fallen off during pad inspection.

While driving 45 mph, the driver applied the brake pedal and the brakes lock.the driver applied the brake pedal numerous times and the brakes became inoperative. This caused the vehicle to skid and subsequently collided with another vehicle.

Front brake discs severe vibration on steering when applying brakes!

2004 mazda6 this is what i sent to mazda and their reply:"33968 miles. Second time the front rotors had to be turned down because of warping.first time no charge (22,780 miles), this time a charge of $119.99. Thedealership says they are not covered by the warranty, yet the warranty information book page 9 states "any component...48 months or 50,000miles". The mazda6 owner's web pages have many discussions on the undersized weak warping front rotors.- first are the rotors covered in the warranty?- second and most important are the engineers at mazda looking into replacing this weak component.love the car but this is my wife's transportation to work and back 90 miles round trip. I purchased this for her so i would not worry abouther car. Now i'm looking at what, $119.99 every 11,000 miles until the big day when they have to be replaced (which the dealership said would be the next time). Then replace with what, oem and start all over. Your concern in this would be greatly appreciated." their reply: "i regret to read of your recent expenditure for repairing your vehicle's brakes. As you know specific information regarding warranty coverage can be found in the warranty information booklet that mazda provides with all new vehicles.mazda's new vehicle limited warranty is for 48-months or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. This is a bumper-to-bumper warranty but does notcover maintenance for wear items such as oil changes, brake pads, tires, clutch, etc. Please keep in mind that your warranty onlycoversdefects in workmanship or materials, not items related to maintenance, normal wear and tear, or outside influences. Please refer to page 12 of your warranty information booklet."i wonder if they ever read their own warranty book, how can turningand replacing rotors be a "normal maintenance service" ?

Car has slight pull to the right ever since it was purchased new from the dealer.various repairs have not eliminated the problem.have not had any incidents, but the nature of the problem could be construed as having the potential for incident.

Constant overheating problems. Changed everything from hoses to radiator, thermostat and gasket but it still comes on after a while. Spent sooo much money on this and the other day smoke erupted from car when driving and got in accident. Former owner had same problem.

Mazda 6i hatchback developed severe pull to the right during regular city, even driving on a flat surface. A strong grip and considerable pull on the steering wheel was necessary to keep the car driving straight, and becomes exhausting to maintain on long drives. Vehicle was realigned at a tire shop and technicians noted front wheels were several degrees out of alignment. After 50 miles, the pull recurred and grew more severe. Regular realignments have not corrected the problem. Review of the wheels and associated components with an independent mechanic found premature wear due to realignment, and tires wear unevenly as a result. Mazda refuses to acknowledge this problem but research and simple google searches show the problem is endemic with the mazda6.

Dt:consumer's vehicle has a handle above the door of the back seat. Consumer's mother was holding onto handle when it broke loose. Consumer's mother is elderly and she sustained a bruise on her forehead, and pulled the muscles on her neck , back and shoulder blade. Vehicle subframe almost completely rusted out.

I have a 2004 mazda 6 when i parked and tried to exit the car the driver door would not open. It seems the door lock had something wrong with it and the door will not open from the inside out outside! i tried to unlock the door with the power locks as well as manually. Even trying to muscle the lock open it did not work! this is a safety issue as if i had to exit the car quickly i would have to climb over the center console and exit through the passenger door. I have read that this has been a problem on other mazda 6. I went to the dealer to get a price on a new door latch i spoke to a mechanic and was told he just finished changing a door latch on a mazda 6 that the door would not open! should we wait until someone to get hurt in a car they can't get out of before this issue is fixed!.

2004 mazda 6 with corrosion around the rear passenger side wheel well.reported to mazda north america operation on november 2.was referred to dealer, kerry mazda florence, ky for assessment of vehicle.photos were taken of corrosion on november 5 at the dealer auto service center.was told i will hear from mazda north america operation regarding any follow up and not from the dealer.the service center manager also told me that mazda north america operations is responsible for any repairs not the dealer.recontact with mazda north america operations on november 23 because i had not heard from dealer or manufacturer regarding status of my complaint.i was told by mazda north america operation the business manager for kerry mazda, florence, ky will contact me regarding resolution.when i was contacted later that same day i was told my vehicle was out of warranty at 60 months and they could not do anything about it.i am now stuck with a vehicle that has damage that is clearly due to a manufacturer defect.on december 8 i went to a local body shop to get an estimate and report on the damage.i was told by the body shop manager that my vehicle is not old enough for rust to be coming through the paint.i was also told that to properly repair my vehicle will cost $3,000-$5,000 depending on the damage under the vehicle that cannot be seen.only the rust effect on the paint that is visible is all we could see.he also said that he would not guarantee any repairs where paint is applied over rust because they will not hold.when i purchased my vehicle i also paid to have undercoating and overcoating to protect it from rust and corrosion.however, neither of these warranties are in effect and i purchased these through the dealership.mazda north america operation file # is 126573620.

2004 mazda 6- driver door is stuck and will not open. Dealer had to break the door to open it and charged me to replace what they broke. I will also have to pay for the defective part. I see that there are other complaints about the same thing. This is a significant safety hazard for obvious reasons.

The contact owns a 2004 mazda mazda6. The contact stated that the front driver's side door could not be opened. The contact attempted to enter the vehicle through another door but all of the doors were unable to be opened. The contact had to crawl through the trunk in order to enter the vehicle. The contact was able to open all doors after several hours with the exception of the front driver's side door. In addition, the front driver's side doors could not be unlocked. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis who was able to open the front driver's side door after two hours. The mechanic advised the contact that the door mechanisms would need to be replaced. The contact was awaiting repairs. The vin was unavailable. The failure and current mileage was 150,000.

The contact owns a 2004 mazda 6.the contact stated that the driver side door was defective and could not be opened from the interior or exterior of the vehicle or with the keyless remote.the dealer was contacted and referred the contact to a local specialist for further assistance. The manufacturer was contacted yet the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 82,126 and the current mileage was 82,132.

While traveling on interstate at 70 mph, a piece of chrome plated trim from the top of the grill (roughly 3" x 24") flew off striking the front windshield on the driver's side directly in front of my face (the dealer provided mazda part number for the trim is gk2a50710c).the piece either exploded on impact or was deflected and there was no damage to the windshield but i feel that an issue like this should never happen.i take it very seriously for the following reasons:1.) it was extremely loud and distracting and i could have easily lost control having a tractor trailer directly beside me and another in front of me at the time.2.) the possibility of this piece penetrating the windshield (and my skull) rather than being deflected.3.) the possibility of the airborne trim landing before another motorist or cyclist behind me.

On august 15, 2012 i stopped off at a gas station went to open driver side door and the door would not open from inside or outside handle. I then had to escape by climbing over the console to exit the passenger side door, good thing i'm a small girl and not a big guy trying to climb out. I have been without a door handle on my car for approximately 6 months, having to climb thru the window or passenger door.i finally take to mechanic to purchase a new handle at $100 and then charged another $150 for the labor to find out that this is a common problem with mazda and the real issue are the door latches. I now have to purchase a new door latch assembly at another $205 and another $100 in labor. This entire time i have been driving in an unsafe vehicle that if i would have been in an accident i would have sued mazda for. These are faulty latches they assembled on the driver side doors unsafely locking us inside the vehicle. Mazda needs to address this issue, correct this issue, and reimburse the owners that are paying for this faulty part. This has cost me out of pocket of $550. Uncalled for!!!

Driver door stuck.

The contact owns a 2004 mazda 6. After parking the vehicle, the front driver side door could not be opened and trapped the driver inside. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 125,000.

Driver door will not open from inside or out, this is very dangerous because if im in an accident how will i get out?i travel with two kids so if i need to get out in case of emergency i have no time to crawl over seat to get them. Plz help with this issue.

My complaint concerns the following issue:in the summer of 2006, this car began to exhibit occasional clunking and grinding from the front suspension during low speed maneuvers. I took the vehicle to montgomery mazda in charlotte, nc, and tim marburger mazda in concord, nc, for diagnosis. During this time, the car was under warranty, and had approx. 41,000 miles on the odometer. Neither dealership could duplicate the problem.?in late august 2007, this car began to exhibit continuous clunking and grinding noises emanating from the front suspension during all driving situations. In early september 2007, i took the car to montgomery mazda in charlotte, nc, for another diagnosis. I was told that the issue involved spring isolators and bushings in the front suspension, and repairs would run approx. $480.00. I inquired about whether this item was covered under recall or warranty, and was told no.?on september 26, 2007, i took the car to a local mechanic near my home, who verified the diagnosis from montgomery mazda. He called the dealership to inquire about parts, and was told that spring isolators, bushings, and other parts to correct this problem had been redesigned, and that they had been issued new parts numbers.given the fact that i brought this matter to the attention of my local dealers while the car was still under warrant, and given the fact that the redesign of these key suspension parts indicates a clear, known defect in materials and/or design, i am asking that mazda cover the cost of repairs on my car.

The vehicle did not drive straight. It constantly pulled to the right. The vehicle has been serviced5 times in which the front suspension was realigned 4 times. The fifth time some bolts werereplaced. The failure still exist.

The contact owns a 2004 mazda mazda6. The contact stated that while driving at highway speeds, a loud noise could be heard. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, where the contact was informed that the front wheel bearings failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired and the contact stated that this was the third time the front wheel bearings were repaired. The manufacturer was notified and advised the contact to inform nhtsa. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

May 25, 2010re: failure of traction control module:i have a 2004 mazda 6 wagon thati bought new in the spring of 2005 from the dealer. It is the spring of 2010, therefore it has been 5 years. The mileage is 32864.the abs (anti- lock braking system)light, the tcs (traction control system) light, the brake light, and a picture of a car skidding light, all came on together. The manual said if they come on together to drive slowly and carefully to the dealer, so i did to the same dealer that i bought it from and where it has been serviced continuously. They hooked it up to the computer and it told them that a part that sits on top of the abs system, the traction control module, had failed. It has to be ordered and will take 2 weeks to arrive and the part costs $1600. The dealer said that the car might have its brakes fail after a while.i am letting you know so that you can track complaints like this in case there needs to be a recall, at which point i would be reimbursed. I have a 20 year old car that never had an expensive problem like that occur in terms of a part failing. A little voice tells me that something is wrong with the part and that this should not happen. I paid about $20,000 for the car, and $1600 for a part plus tax makes that close to 10% of the purchase price and i have not yet driven even 35,000 miles.and if it involves other cars, that is only the financial cost. Not everyone who experiences emergency lights come on take the car to the dealer to be diagnosed and when brakes are involved, as here, that can result in loss of life.

I sold this mazda6 to an auto dealer (shortline auto group, aurora, co) in november 2015. I have since received several recall notices regarding the car from mazda north american operations. Each time, i have sent back the enclosed information change card, telling mazda that i sold the car, and giving them the name and address of the buyer. Yetmazda continues to send me the recall notices. This makes me worry that they are not updating their owner databases with the info from returned information change cards (something they obviously should be doing).

"takata recall" i parked my car when i got off work. The next day i went to crank my car it would turn over but it wouldn't start, so i took it to a mechanic and he said my computer was out. The vehicle was stationary in my yard

We no longer own this vehicle.it was sold at auction about 3 years ago.please stop sending me these real notices.vin is [xxx].information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Driving normally, transmission gets struck in 1st, 2nd, 3rd or fourth gear.sometimes transmission will downshift very, very hard.

Car just unexpectedly down shifts from 4th to 3rd gear.. Transmission revs . Have to stop the car. Can not take interstate because it may cause a wreck.. Alternator light and check engine light comes on.. Have to turn the car off and restart the car to reset gears..

While pulling into a parking space, the brakes disengaged, almost causing consumer's vehicle to crash into other vehicles.the dealer inspected the vehicle, and stated that the brakes were not defective.the consumer stated that the vehicle lunged forward during the incident. *sc

I was originally misquoted in my complaint taken over the phone so i am writing this as a clarification of the event that occurred. I own a 2004 mazda 6s. While entering a parking space at a speed no more than 10mph, the brakes disengaged for 2-3 secs while the brake was still being applied. I was certain that the car was going to jump the curb, which did not happen. The brakes re-engaged causing myself and my passenger to lunge forward violently. Upon taking the car to a mazda service department, the car was test driven, the braking system was checked, and found to work normally at the time of servicing.

Obscured rear vision on sportwagons. Replacements for original replaceable rear blade carrier do not correctly fit the original wiper arm assembly (mounted to the rear window). Both recently supplied mazda(!) and aftermarket blade carriers have a new tab that interferes with the wiper arm assembly, preventing pressure being fully applied to the tips of the rubber blade. Consequently, only a small, central portion of the rear window is wiped clear of rain, snow or mud. That is hazardous.

This creatsa visibility problem in that the vision of the windshield is reduced since this is almost in the direct line of vision when you are in the drivers seat and driving. This has been reported by many owners of this vichicle onto the internet and from many different areas of the country.after repeated trips to the dealer this problem is still occuring and there does not appear to be a fix. The dealer tried to say it was because i live in texas this occurs but i have lived in texas almost 15 years and never had any other car that does this ever!

Mazda 6i hatchback developed severe pull to the right during regular city, even driving on a flat surface. A strong grip and considerable pull on the steering wheel was necessary to keep the car driving straight, and becomes exhausting to maintain on long drives. Regular realignments have not corrected the problem. Review of the wheels and associated components with an independent mechanic found premature wear due to realignment, and tires wear unevenly as a result. Mazda refuses to acknowledge this problem but research and simple google searches show the problem is endemic with the mazda6.
