The airbag light keeps coming on flickering periodically as i'm driving. I'm very concerned about this airbag if it's going to deploy while i'm driving or if it's going to even deploy if i do get into an accident and if it's going to work or am i going to be killed if it doesn't deploy i'm very concern it's is safety issue.
Dash board passenger side seam on dash is splitting above airbag
Passenger seat belt says passenger air bag off when hooked up. It stays off when passenger sits in it.
1) after moving the empty passenger seat back a few inches at a red light, passenger airbag deactivation lightilluminated on dash and has remained on ever since. At the same time, the airbag light on the instrument cluster began flashing a code 16. There are no visible loose wires or connections under the seat.2) condensation appearing in driver's side headlight assembly.
The vehicle was parked for 2 days then when the vehicle was started the airbag light went through it's normal procedure. After a brief pause, the airbag light flashed once then paused and then flashed six times. Then, the passenger airbag indicator on the dash came on and remained on, indicating the passenger airbag was disabled. The airbag light on the dash in front of the driver continues to flash once followed by six more flashes. This problem continues every time the car is driven. Many owners have had the same problem. Suzuki recalled this similar problem years ago.
Passenger airbag off and it's always on. The icon on the dash is indicating code 16. Nobody is seating on the passenger side.
Passenger airbag light will go on and off with nobody in the seat. This happens randomly and not consistently. Sometimes while stationary, sometimes while driving.the dashboard has come apart from the center piece on the dash with the digital display. Car was purchased in texas in 2013, drove to maine in 2015 and driven to virginia since 2018. Progressively gotten worserear view mirror has strange brown marks inside the mirror making it difficult to see. Owner does not smoke.strange clunky noise from rear suspension, not consistent very random. Smooth road, bumpy road, fast or slow, the sound just randomly happens from time to time.headlights form moisture, owner bought new headlights with mechanic install and they started to collect moisture about a year after installation.owner of vehicle since 2013 to present. Vehicle purchased at approx 60k miles, currently approx 130k miles.
Airbags: did not deploy upon impact of a streetlamp pole on the front driverside quarter. Front farring damaged and replaced. I was turning left,it was raining, the glare of the light blinded me enough to go up on the curb and impact the streetlamp pole. I replaced the farring and hadmy mazda3fully aligned. Electrical: purchased vehicle in october 2016. Replaced battery 4 times, alternator 3 times since purchase. Seat heaters haven't worked ever. Driverside seat started wiggling after contact withstreetlamp pole.
The dashboard is lifting up possibly affecting the drivers side and passengers side airbags deployment. I am very concerned i dont know when it happened
I purchased a used 2011 mazda 3 in march 2019. I didn't notice it at the time but the air bag light was flashing a code 16 on the dash. I took it to my local dealership and had to pay $100 diagnostic fee. They told me it was the passenger seat weight sensor and the two parts would need to be replaced. The cost was around $800. I understand that components on a car may go bad over time but should something as important as an air bag sensor go bad in less than 9 years? and if it does, should i have to pay $800 for my safety when it should be the company that covers that. I've read that this is a common problem and there are no recalls. If i am in an accident and i have a passenger in the front seat, their airbag will not go off and that person could be seriously hurt or killed.
"takata recall" - i received in the mail a letter about the airbag recall and i needa clear explainationas to why there is no recall for my vehicle, which by the way both airbag warning lights are on(driver side & passenger side), but yet i received a letter to participate in a class action lawsuit. Explain?
Air bag light on for passenger seat. Passenger air bag will not deploy in a crash because of defective wiring and weight sensor. This is a widespread problem that puts passengers at risk. If you look online thousands of people have the same problem.
"takata recall" my airbag light is still on time by time for unknown reason . I bring this to attention on time in my bumper to bumper guarantee in my dealer on 2011, dealer said that is not a problem at that time. I received a letter by mail on oct 2017 that a possible settlement is related to air bag , i am worried that something is wrong in my airbag ,so i advised my dealer they refused to check by free and asking me to paid for a review becausethere is not recall register in my vehicle. Well i previously advised on time on 2011about this situation, that is the ligt is on time by time that means something is wrong is not fair, that i need to paid for a review work . The vehicle is in motion when this happened again and again with unknown reason when i informed on time. Now that i know about this settlement , i just asking for a review of my vehicle due to this circumstances.
When a passenger who is 5'2" and weighs 95 pounds sits on the front passenger seat of my 2011 mazda 3, the airbag light indicates that the passenger-side airbag is not on.i've taken the car to the mazda dealer several times, but they couldn't fix it.on my other car (a honda) and on all previous mazda models i've owned (323 and protege), this same passenger has never had a problem with airbags detecting her presence as we now do with the mazda 3. Is there a national safety regulation that mazda is violating with passenger airbags that don't deploy when an adult is sitting in the seat?is there a minimum weight and height standard that mazda's passenger-side airbags should be meeting?i can't imagine that such a standard would not include an adult who is 5'2" and weighs 95 pounds. I've seen a discussion on the internet among owners who have had this same problem:http://mechanics.stackexchange.com/questions/1673/2011-mazda3-airbag-disabled-for-light-passenger.
The contact owned a 2011 mazda 3. The contact stated that while driving at 71 mph, the vehicle hit a deer causing the hood to open with force cracking the windshield. The air bags also failed to deploy.a deer hit the front driver's side of the vehicle. The contact hit her head and knee on the steering wheel. The contact also sustained a whiplash.the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 17v082000 (seats). The contact stated that after the impact smoke was seen coming from the front of the vehicle. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot and deemed a total loss. A dealer or independent mechanic was not contacted for diagnoses or repairs. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,000.
My wife was involved in a serious accident were the automobile was declared a total loss. The air bags never deploy. The car was in motion and she was severely rear ended. The approximate travel speed was 65 miles per hr on there freeway.
Sometimes turns on the light of activated airbags and even if the emergency lever is fully raised, the carraige moves as if it were down.
My 2011 mazda 3 driver seat has come off track while i was on the highway. I went to slide my seat back and the seat popped off the track, luckily i caught myself. Mazda dealership said they wouldnt cover it. Now, 3 weeks after my warranty ended, my passenger airbag sensor has lit up, on the dash and above the radio. Mazda said it was my sensor under my seat but still had to charge $105 dollar fee to find the problem??? the airbag sensor came on one morning on my way to work. Nobody was in the car except me.
The drivers seat will sometimes come out of its track, and not lock in securely.when the seat is locked, it seems to be ok, but if i should move the seat forward to accommodate for a rear passenger its like the seat will not sit squarely in the track, and it will either sink, or elevate at one corner and slide forwards or backwards.its dangerous if i were to hit my brakes, the seat would move forward inadvertently causing me to slam on my brakes. Also, there appears to be an air bag indicator light that will flash on my dashboard. This seems occur at random times, the red light will flash indicating some sort of error with the airbag. I'm not sure if its a loose connection, or an actual problem with the air bag.when i alerted the dealer they told me i was out of warranty, and they would not do anything for either of these issues.i mentioned that these were most likely safety issues, not like i wanted free tires or a new water pump or battery or something. Just address what could be a hazardous condition with my vehicle.
Takata recall - this vehicle has a takata air bag initiator on the passenger side.dealer says no recall is in effect.why is there no recall when the takata initiator is known to cause issues and fatalities?is a recall pending?if so, when will it be made public?thank you.
Takata recall:i bought my first car mazda3 in jan 2011. On the passenger side, the airbag light does not turn off even though a over 100 pounds person is sitting on the chair. I noticed it on the first year when i was back to the mazda dealer in newark california for the maintenance, but the dealer told me it is normal because the person is sitting on the passenger chair is so light.i got a car accident on 2012, but the airbag did not pop up. I did not file a complaint because i do not know this website until i receive the dashboard recall.my mazda got some recalls. The current recall is the dashboard, and i am waiting for fixing it the end of this month january 2018. I wonder why the airbag is not recall yet. It is more important than the dashboard.
Mazda oem 11-13 3 seat track-occupant sensor right bcn167sw0ais faulty . There are thousands of cases of this ! the price of this items is 350.00 ! there should be a class action lawsuit or a recall ! this causes the passenger side airbags to be disabled . If you want it to work 350.00 ! less then 3 years of owning this car
The mazda 3 hit a large truck broadside, which caused extensive damage to the front end of the car.the mazda is likely totaled.though the mazda 3 is equipped with front, side and overhead airbags, not one airbag deployed in the accident, not even the driver's-side front airbag.amazingly, no one was injured in the accident.
Airbag not inflate at the accident but inflated after 2 nf injuries . Persons hurt by steering wheel.
Takata airbag: on 12/25/16 sunday my vehicle sustained major damage in a hit and run, my airbag (driver side) did not deploy. My vehicle was hit so hard i was knock into a 360 spin. (insurance provider: progressive policy #[xxx], detroit police report #[xxx]) i was in motion entering the intersection on a city street, dry road condition. I did not go to the hospital i used work sick day since i was on my way to work (police officer) (email: [xxx].information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Approximately 60 mph the air bag light illuminated on the dash board.there was a passenger seated in the front passenger seat. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technicians inspected the vehicle and could not diagnose a failure. The technicians stated the air bag light illuminated because the passenger did not have enough body weight for the vehicle to recognize that there was someone in the seat. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage 50. Ds

When driving the steering wheel locks up . Super hard to pull over. Very dangerous. Could have been killed. The power steering light and engine light come unill i turn vehicle off and on. I have read many post on line of this happening to this vehicle and i'm shocked this is not a active recall or haven't caused any deaths.
During short drive on surface roads (under 45 mph), electrical short caused a fire under the hood and melted plastic clips; fuse that is supposed to prevent this did not work.
Transmission slips out and shift shock in first gear to second year. Over revvingand bucking on the freeway. These are bad transmissions
Evidence of fire damage around the five speed gear shifting mechanism only with radiated heat melting the adjoining drivers seat.no other indications of fire anywhere else and the fire extinguished itself due to the vehicles windows being rolled-up which caused the fire to lack oxygen which in turn, caused the fire to smolder at which point the owner approached the car as he was going to work and observed and reported the incident to fire officials.car has not been driven since that time.
The battery appears to be dead. After jump start, the car works for about 3 days. The vehicle will not start if left to sit over night without driving. The battery will not power the vehicle and will not allow fuel to exchange for a push start (manual 5 speed). The car was taken to beaverton mazda dealership in beaverton oregon. They tested for electrical leaks and found none. Did not replace battery. Dealership gave battery a slow charge overnight. The battery was tested and the dealership advised battery was in like new condition. The car dies 6 days later after not being driven for 1 day. Taken back to the dealership and more tests are done, was charged for an inspection bill that says nothing is wrong. Almost 1 year later, car not driven for 1 day and battery is dead. Seems to leak electricity somewhere that cannot be found.
While driving a loud gun like sound happens. Sound will not turn off even with the vehicle off or volume turned down. This issue is related to the bose amp failure which the dealership has refused to fix for free or diagnose for free. Contacted bose and they have confirmed this is a known issue they no longer honor and referred me to the dealership. The mazda dealership will charge $1300 just for the amp alone.
My dashboard has seperated from my control paneldue to heat in florida even though i use sun visor each day.also i notice that the electronis door locks fail to work when attempting to unlock the door, after turning the keu to the open position and returning the key back to the start possition the car re locks itself about 70% of the time

Driverside seat started wiggling after contact withstreetlamp pole.
The front lights seem to build condensation and cut down on the amount of light that is emitted from them at night, leading to a huge safety issue. It also affects the turn signals and can lead to catastrophic electronic failure that costs over $1,000 to fix that mazda claims is not covered by their factory warranty. This has become a huge problem and one quick search on the internet turns up hundreds of complaints from people with the same problem. Please, issue a recall in order to fix the affected units and force mazda's hand to lay the cost burden on them and not the customer as it is completely on their manufacturing techniques that do not provide a proper seal around the lighting that allows this to occur. Dealership salesmen are schooled to tell customers that it will "burn off" as the lights are on longer and its not anything to worry about, when really it can lead to some serious damage to the vehicle leading to dangerous safety hazards at night.
My mazda3 has, and has always had, tons of spiders building nests and webs. This occurs across my mirrors(inside and outside), seats, seatbelts, front speed and rpm gauges, windows, and under the hood. Usually occurs at night and i find them in the morning. Never of the same size or type, but it is very frustrating especially when they are inside the car. They are not only a danger to me, but to any passenger i may carry. I saw the mazda6 recall because of the spiders and i think the same thing is occurring here. Please check this out!
Anti theft system activated on me after i shut off the car. Was sitting in a parking lot waiting for my daughter to get out of work. I shut the car off and it wouldn't start. My mechanic said the anti theft system activated which shouldn't of happened.
Passenger headlamp getting excessive condenstation build up after car wash or rain storm eventually causes hid bulb and ballast failure due to short caused by water ingress. Housing has been changed and still leaks in almost exact same pattern as old housing. This is a safety defect as it affects my ability to safely, and legally drive my car in low or no light conditions and could cause an accident.
On april 8 while picking up my daughter from school on nautilus street in la jolla, pointed downhill on a steep grade, my idling vehicle lost power without warning, i lost control of steering and brakes had to stop the vehicle with the handbrake, the passenger car door was open at the time my daughter was trying to step into the vehicle as the car took off, the door hit the car in front of me breaking her tail light, it took me three tries to get the engine to turn back over.
Mazda has to do something about the tcm. Mine goes in and out and i can't pull in front of traffic when the acceleration goes down. It's an accident waiting to happen and it known the this particular part is known to go out. It's a safety issue mazda needs to address immediately before someone dies. The first picture is when the car is in manuel mode as you can see that's supposed to be a 5 for fifth gear which u can see that it's hard to tell and that is when it's working when it goes out the cars acceleration slows down and there's no digital display at all. The second picture is when it's in automatic that is supposed to be a d letter letting you know as the driver the gear is in drive. This a frequent problem and i'm not willing to risk my life and posar he lives of others for a mistake that should be corrected by mazda.

On september 3, 2011 i purchased a brand new 2011 mazda 3 from mazda of escondido. On tuesday september 13, 2011 i started my vehicle and turned on the headlights at which point the power steering light and also the traction control warning lights came on. As i was trying to park my vehicle i noticed difficulty with the power steering. Also, the dsc button would not turn on/off while the light was on. On monday september 19, 2011 the same two lights came on again. I took a picture of the lights and the odometer reading so we could show the dealer. Due to a prior wrist injury power steering is a must for me.
2011 mazda3 i touring 5 speeds 4 doors.

I stopped at a stop sign and my car started accelerating as if the accelerator was fully depressed.my foot was squarely on the brake at the time but i was being pulled slowly forward on to a busy roadway.i am an experienced driver and was able to turn the car sharply to the right along the shoulder to avoid oncoming traffic.i shifted into park, and then shut the engine off.my foot placement was no where near the accelerator, and there were no other obstructions (i.e. Carpets).when i restarted the car the engine sounded normal.as an engineer, i am fairly certain that what ever happened was electronic in nature, not a mechanical obstruction or sticking linkage (i did not touch the gas pedal when i restarted).prior to this incident i had been driving slow though a business park at 10 to 15 miles and hour for a couple of minutes, i was at a doctor appointment.i have not seen this issue before or since.mazda has examined the car and did not see anything.i like the car, but i thought it was important to get this potentially dangerous flaw on record.
Air conditioner coils are continually producing mold.change air cabin filter regularly, mold is even growing on filters.when coils are touched, black mold comes off on rag. I have severe mold allergies and have had to have the coils cleaned professionally as well as the ac vents cleaned to remove spores.i have never had this kind of problem with any car i've ever had.
The contact owns a 2011 mazda 3. While the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed water in the passenger side head lamp. As a result, the head lamp failed to illuminate. The dealer diagnosed that the head lamp needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was also included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v644000 (structure). The part needed to repair the vehicle was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 29,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
Mechanic's report 12/28/2019: "right front (passenger side) headlight assembly has major moisture contamination. Hid controller failure due to moisture; hid bulb out. Repair est. $1,500 - $2,000." my 2011 mazda 3 mileage is 36,915. I will take this to mazda service dept. On 1/2/2020 for evalutaion. Their repair est. On phone was $2,000+ - parts only. This is a known problem reported online by many owners of this make and year. Clearly this is a factory defect issue. One that has caused accidents at night. (i first noticed moisture sometime after a drive-thru car wash 3 months ago.)

The contact owns a 2011 mazda mazda3. While driving 15 mph, the rear brake stop lamps illuminated independently without warning. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that there was a possible failure due to the abs malfunction. The contact stated that the rear brake stop lamps were replaced; however, the failure recurred. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 64,000. The vin was not available.
Headlight seal failure;water condensation in the headlight (passenger side).occurs after a car wash, a drive in the rain, drizzle or downpour in highway or city.road illumination diminished from water condensation.
Vehicle headlight failed due to faulty seal allowing moisture to enter the headlight assembly.i brought the headlight into the dealer while still under warranty when i noticed moisture in the headlight but before it failed.my claim was denied stating that it was a cosmetic issue.now this is a safety issue that costs several hundred dollars to correct.research online indicates many others have experienced similar warranty claim avoidance and failed headlight assemblies.

Car was hard to start in 2014..replaced the spark plug .clean the maf sensor and air intake .used 89 grade gas .nothing was change .car was noise from the back in 2016.didnt find out the problem .then 2weeks ago sometimes car started and failed right away .do matter the engine was cold or warm .took it to dealership .replaced fuel pump .costed $988.car just go back the normal finally .so the fuel pump had problem in 2014.but just didnt die.fuel pump should last lifetime with the car .we had some older car like 11years .there is no problem with fuel pump .they should recall it .i seen a lot people have same problem online .and they didnt find out the problem
Around 3000 miles, manual transmission developed issue of not going into first gear from a stop. Dealer investigated and said that this is a quirk with the transmission and can be safely ignored by starting in a higher gear, which wears out the transmission faster. As of three weeks ago at this point, transmission developed intermittent issue where it "pops" out of second gear or grinds and damages internal parts before automatically moving to neutral. This occurs after a normal shift. Also has develop issue where is does not properly go into reverse, instead going into first gear. Dealer says that since there are no obd2 computer codes coming up, they are not allowed by the mazda head office to remove the transmission and physically look at it. Currently i am very hesitant to drive the car at all due to the fact the i drive in heavy traffic while commuting 50 miles a day. I am not confident that my transmission will properly function at highway, local traffic, or residential speeds. I have barely avoided several accidents until the reverse gear issue became consistent. I have been driving manual transmissions for about 10 years and these issues have only appeared as this current car has aged very poorly. The drive train has shredded 50,000 mile tires in less than 25,000 miles. I fear what damage will happen because this issue seems to be occurring with way too much frequency among the 2011 mazda3's with a manual transmission as per the other posts. I would appreciate any help in having mazda properly investigate and resolve this issue to prevent further tragedy from the very high potential for a loss of life or bodily function incident.
I first took my car in to the dealer when i noticed the clutch slipping after i shifted or when i accelerated at freeway speeds. Now, after 16 days, i finally have my 2011 mazda 3 back with a completely new clutch assembly. Mazda paid 50%, not including the rental car. My final bill: $700 (not including the rental car cost for this time). They replaced not only the clutch disc, but the flywheel and associated bearings and parts. Apparently they consider replacing the clutch at 2 years / 20k miles to be "normal wear and tear" and not under warranty. In my opinion, the fact that it wore out so quickly, in itself, means it was defective.i have driven a manual car for almost 10 years (previously a mazda rx-7) without any issues. I do not abuse my car, i do not ride the clutch, and i do not let anyone else drive the car. Mazda would not allow me to speak to anyone with the authority to assist me, specifically the district manager who made the decision. On top of that, the woman i spoke with when i called their customer service line at (800) 222-5500 was not only unhelpful, but flat out rude and confrontational. After this experience, i plan to trade this car due to the fact that it will need another new clutch at 40k miles of normal driving. Mazda has lost a loyal customer for life with their "guilty until proven innocent" mentality toward warranty claims.
Sudden clutch failure.
I got this car back in august not knowing about mazda's clutch issues. I got the car with about 101,000 miles, and when i got to about 112,000, my clutch failed out in the middle of nowhere while i was driving on a highway in kansas. I was shifting up from 4th gear to 5th gear and the car felt like it went into neutral, but none of my gears were working. Fortunately, i was able to pull over to the shoulder and wait for a tow truck, but my car would not drive.i do not know when the clutch was replaced by the previous owner, but after researching this issue, i became worried that this is going to continually be an issue for my car for the rest of the time that i have it. It is an expensive fix, and i cannot afford to replace my clutch approximately every 35,000 miles as many other mazda 3 drivers have. Mazda should really recall the part and warranty its replacement.

Premature clutch failure.mazda3 with manual transmission. Clutch suddenly burn out and cannot shift gear while driving. Heard something was falling down under the clutch and then smell smoky odor. Car dead in middle of local road. Only have 16,xxx miles and 2.5 years on this car. Contact the mazda experience center, but they think it is a normal worn out part and warranty would not take care of it. However, i think there is possible a design defect in their clutch.
I went on a trip and had my tires rotated and no brake work had been done to my car. The dealer that rotated tires mechanic called me to look at my car and showed me that my brakes were wearing unevenly. The one on the right side had about 10mm of brake pad on it and the left side had only about 3mm of brake pad left. The mechanic instructed me to take my car back to where i bought it and have them check it out because this type of break wearing is not normal. I took it to mazda they checked it out and stated they could not find anything wrong and that there were no other problems with this year model so hence why i am reporting my problem. Hopefully no one else has this problem with their car. Because i had a wonderful experience buying my mazda and simply love my car. But nothing that is made in bulk in a factory is perfect and sometimes their are glitches and that is what recalls are for and warranties right that is what we pay so much money for buying brand new cars. Peace of mind!

On friday my wife was driving my car (she learned how to drive on a manual and has no problems driving it) on a back country 2 lane road with our son in the back and out of cell phone coverage. She was driving along at 60 mph, in 6th gear when the rps started to bounce off the rev limiter. She checked to make sure she was still in gear. She took it out of 6th and put it into neutral then tried to go back into gear. No dice, it wouldn't shift. So she pulled over and shut it down. She tired to start again, tried to get it into first, nope, tried to get it into second, and nothing.amazingly she got some signal on the phone after a panicked 20 minutes and got roadside assistance out to tow her in.now mazda is saying that the clutch is burned up and that it is not a defect so it is our fault and it won't be covered under warranty.
2011 mazda3 i touring 5 speeds 4 doors.
The seat belt just stopped locking in place, completely stopped. It won't click into place therefore i can't wear the seat belt. Which means i shouldn't even drive my car to the dealership to have them fix it!
Passenger seat belt says passenger air bag off when hooked up. It stays off when passenger sits in it.
The contact owns a 2011 mazda3. The contact stated that the passenger's side seat belt buckle failed to hold the seat belt clip in place. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who cleaned the seat belt buckle, however failure was not corrected. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 17,000 and the current mileage was 19,000.updated 11/14/13*lj. The consumer stated the dealer declined torepair the seat belt under warrenty due to the failed area containing a sticky substance. Updated 11/25/2013
The seat height adjustment lifter link has broken and my driver seat wobbles tilting up and down during normal operation. There is a recall for this exact issue for this exact model of vehicle 2011 mazda 3.
Lifter on driver seat broke at the weld, dealership's reason is wear and tear on a non mechanical yet welded part.this problem is a safety issue while driving as the seat is not stable nor safe to drive.
My exact make and model and year was recalled in 2017 for a driver seat problem. My specific vehicle avoided recall because it was manufactured in november 2010, as the recall only included those manufactured up until september 2010. How is it that my vehicle had the same exact problem of those models but was not included? the seat lifter clamp broke-the same exact problem warned about in the recall. I can't afford the $800 repair and this is not even my fault.
Sunday night while driving and making a left-hand turn my driverside seat completely detached from the seats harness thats bolted into the body of the vehicle. As research the problem and found that that exact safety issue had a recall. Ive made multiple unsuccessful attempts at scheduling my car to be serviced by mazda. They keep telling me that they will call me back. This has yet to happen.
Air bag light on for passenger seat. Passenger air bag will not deploy in a crash because of defective wiring and weight sensor. This is a widespread problem that puts passengers at risk. If you look online thousands of people have the same problem.
Wobbly drivers seat. Clunky sound when truing. Some times moves on track by itself.persistent problem since day of purchase.
Driver seat gets really hot and burns your back. Have to turn off after 10 mins. Even on lowest setting. Keeps getting too hot.
Seat track-occupant sensor right bcn167sw0a light flashes on dashboard when car is turned on. It was previously replaced in 2012. Mazda warranty doesn't cover this any longer, but it should. I believe mazda has a legal obligation to fix this problem at no cost because this is the second time it has happened in five years.
The contact owns a 2011 mazda mazda3. The contact stated that another vehicle crashed into his from the rear. The contact stated that the driver's seat moved backward abnormally. The contact sustained injuries as a result. The vehicle was not destroyed. A police report was filed. The dealer was contacted and stated that the seat track would likely need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 4,000.
The driver seat is causing server lower back pain regardless of the position of the seat. I tried all ways i could adjust the seat but the curvature in the seat is pushing against my lower back. I have been easy on the zoom zoom effect but in acceleration and breaking, it just hurts my lower back.
While driving my 2011 mazda 3 grand touring hatchback i heard a loud snapping sound. Upon hearing that sound. I practically wound up in the back seat. It appears that either a weld broke or a bolt snapped somewhere at the bottom in the back of the seat on the right. I almost lost complete control of my car. Luckily i still had a firm hand grip on the wheel to pull myself up. This could have been an extremely dangerous situation. The manufacturer should have a recall on this problem immediately before someone gets killed.
The contact owns a 2011 mazda 3. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 17v082000 (seats); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. 'takata recall' the driver seat is uneven and definitely difficult to drive like this
My 2011 mazda 3 driver seat has come off track while i was on the highway.
The contact owns a 2011 mazda 3. The contact stated that the recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 17v082000 (seats) was received in march of 2017.

My clutch blew on 2/7/17 while i was driving on a multilane busy city street.all function of the manual transmission ceased as i was driving, and i coasted across a lane and to the side of the road.i am thankful that i did not get hurt.however, i am very concerned that my car, a 2011 mazda3, stopped working while i was driving!this directly put my life in danger!i am aware that mazda has a known clutch release assembly defect - "a significant safety risk to the driver and passengers as often, suddenly and without warning, the vehicle's engine is unable to provide power to the transmission and becomes inoperable.' The contact owns a 2011 mazda mazda3. While the contact's daughter was driving 60 mph, the steering wheel seized. The contact was unaware if any indicators were illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was towed to mazda of arlington (1400 tech centre pkwy, arlington, tx 76014, (817) 575-6000) where it was diagnosed that the power steering assist failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 120,000.
On or about april 15th , during an oil change and all fluid inspection byewing ,plano ,tx, it was discoveredthat there was a power steering leak.and was told that i should bring the car to a mazda dealership asap after i called mazda usa. After several attempts that lasted a week, to get mazda usa on the phone, i was able to speak to a [xxx] that refused to give his last name, i explained him all the details and he told me that the car 3/36 warranty had expired by few days( i purchased the car new on 3/16/2011) i only had less than 32000 miles on the car, howevergood news he said the power steering was covered under the 5/60 warranty, of course he didn'tknow what he was talking about, because everyone i spoke to told me that the car steering was not covered, after lengthy phone conversations with [xxx] at 18002225500 opt 6- 2 and then extension [xxx] complain # [xxx], i was able to secure an appointment at el dorado mazda in mckinney,tx and a loaner car for 2 days, the manager [xxx], a total run around ,[xxx] told me that there was a seepage of fluid from the power steering and was not covered under the 5/60. I called mazda headquarters infuriated but [xxx] was never available and never returned my phone calls , my young children drive the car, power steering leakage are dangerous, i found out thru internet blogging many people have the same problem.i would never buy anther mazda, and hope the agency would investigate mazda ,safety item should always be covered under warranty ( [xxx])information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Driving from wisconsin to chicago illinois the power steering failed.when i stopped at a toll booth and started on the road again, the power steering was ok as soon as the car started to move.same thing happened again on the same day driving on south on hwy i55 about 30 miles from home.when i stopped at a stop light coming into town and then left the stop light, again the power steering returned to normal.on another day, it happened one time after the car had been parked on an inclined.i backed the car up and could feel the power steering was gone but after the stop and then going forward, the power steering was ok.again another day, it happened backing out of my garage but after stopping and then going forward, it was ok once again.stopping the vehicle seems to cause the power steering to fix itself. I took it to the dealership.no codes could be retrieved.i only saw the little steering wheel light on the dash one time during these episodes although the light may have been on and i didn't notice it except for the one time. Not getting any satisfaction from my dealership, i called [xxx] , the car doctor.i was told by him, that this should be reported at this site as he felt it was a safety issue.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
While driving the vehicle on city streets and highway the power steering stopped functioning. Causing the vehicle to bemanuel steering. A less expierianced driver was opperating the vehicle at the time. Had him turn the car off wait a short time and start the car. Power steering was back. Problem persisted and the car is in for repair.i also see steering problem recalls on the 2008-2009 models.
My 2011 mazda 3 is having power steering problems. It goes on and off and creates dangerous situations for myself as the driver and others on the road. The power steering goes off and the car becomes very very difficult to handle and steer. Its almost impossible to maintain control and make turns.
I bought this mazda on june 2014 and was running great till few days ago when the power steering stopped working , i was told to change the battery because the power takes alot of electrical power but the problem was not fixed. So i decided to take the car to the dealer in arlington for diagnostic, the result was that the pump has internal failure and that's will cost about $1200 to fix it . I hope mazda will fix it for me free of charge since this issue has been reported by many and it is has to do with safety .

Last month we noticed that the dashboard of the above car is literally melting. We noticed at it had a shiny appearance and when we touched it with our hand, our hand literally stuck to the dashboard. We have not used any solvents or cleaners to wipe off the dash. Other than complain, is there anything that we can do ?

Passenger headlamp getting excessive condenstation build up after car wash or rain storm eventually causes hid bulb and ballast failure due to short caused by water ingress. Housing has been changed and still leaks in almost exact same pattern as old housing. This is a safety defect as it affects my ability to safely, and legally drive my car in low or no light conditions and could cause an accident.

Clunking noise from rear of vehicle when going over bumps or rough road.dealer found that the sway bar link nut in the left rear was loose and tightened it.previously filed complaint 10411790 for same problem on right rear.online mazda forums indicate this is a common problem.
I am writing to inform you of a known rear camber issue on the rear suspension of the mazda 3. The rear wheels on mazda 3 tilt inward at the top. Rear camber alignment matched to "factory specifications" does not correct the issue, and tilt is still present - causing uneven tire wear. Mazda recommends rotating the tires to avoid uneven wear, but this does not correct the tilt. Rotating the tires according to mazda's recommendation with rear worn tires being placed on the front causes road noise issues. I just purchased my vehicle and was told, "this is how the mazda3 was built to assist in road handling." the rear cambers of the vehicle are non-adjustable. If they were adjustable from the factory, mazda could resolve this issue. I am upset because i will have to purchase tires much more frequently now that what is considered standard - on vehicles that are able to be adjusted so that the camber is at 0.this is a known issue, and mazda is aware of it, but will not take responsibility to correct the problem. After researching this issue, i discovered hundreds of other mazda customers dealing with the exact same issue.
Clunking noise from rear of vehicle when going over bumps or rough road started at about 500 miles on the vehicle.dealer found that the sway bar link nut in the rear was loose and tightened it. Afterwards read online many complaints from other owners of the exact same problem.
Tires cupping and wearing quickly on inside of both tires in the same manner. Research and discussion with mechanics indicate the issue is likely due to camber. Camber is within manufacturer specifications, but causes extremely rapid tire wear.
Tire wear to the point of replacement @ 21k miles.
Driving south on ih-35 in san marcos, texas, a blowout occurred in right rear tire. Driving conditions were dryand sunny. The tire is a toyo a20, size p205/55r16 89h. The inner tire wall separated completely from the rest of the tire. Driver did not lose control and was able to pull over. These tires were original equipment on vehicle when purchased from dealer in 2011.

Passenger airbag light will go on and off with nobody in the seat. This happens randomly and not consistently. Sometimes while stationary, sometimes while driving.the dashboard has come apart from the center piece on the dash with the digital display. The vehicle has unintended surges in acceleration during driving or backing out the drive. Was told to service department at local dealership during routine maintenance; i was told that they could find nothing.there has been no accident from this as of yet. This has been ongoing since the date of purchase. At first, i thought i was unused to the accelerator. Also, the headlights on this vehicle are fogged from the inside (water under the headlights) this results in the light beam not being strong enough at night to be as visible as should be to others or myself.
Transmission slips out and shift shock in first gear to second year. Over revvingand bucking on the freeway. These are bad transmissions
I left the lights on and this drained the battery. I had my jumper cables in the spare-wheel compartment. There was no way to open the hatch (fifty door) from the inside, or any other way. Seems like the only way that the back door opens is electronically. This is a flaw in testing and design, this needs addressed for safety reasons, numerous to mention. Suggestion: have a manual latch to open the back door (hatch) from the inside in the event electrical power is lost.
The dashboard is lifting up possibly affecting the drivers side and passengers side airbags deployment. I am very concerned i dont know when it happened
Dashboard is separating above radio/info screen.
The dashboard is separating from the instrument panel. There is a growing gap. It occurred over time and is continuing to get worse.
We were riding down the road and all of a sudden it sounded like a machine gun was going threw my speakers and the radio control would not control the load ness of it. We had to ride over 3 miles to the exit and get out when i turned the car off it stopped. Then it would make a awful crackling noise when the key wasn't even in the ignition. That went on for a couple of weeks now the radio doesn't work at all and it still crackles from time to time. I looked online and apparently a lot of people have been having the same issue and they said that the bose amplifier is going out making that noise. I've contacted bose waiting for a response. I'm just glad i wasn't in the car alone when it happened because we were on the interstate and it scared the crap out of us!
My dashboard has seperated from my control paneldue to heat in florida even though i use sun visor each day.also i notice that the electronis door locks fail to work when attempting to unlock the door, after turning the keu to the open position and returning the key back to the start possition the car re locks itself about 70% of the time

While i was driving and approaching a stop sign my braking was normal and the vehicle decelerated until about 10-15 mph, however further application of the brake didn't continue to stop the vehicle smoothly and i noticed the engine revving and 'jerky' continued forward motion.had a vehicle been stopped at the sign in front of me i would definitely have crashed, instead i ran the sign slightly.i quickly figured out the proximity of the brake/accelerator pedal allowed my (large) foot/shoe to catch the edge of the accelerator when i was braking.i couldn't detect a change in pedal 'feel' when i was engaging the brake versus the brake plus accelerator.while not an electronic mystery and clearly my big foot that hit the pedal, i find it troubling that an experienced driver with 30 years of experience, no crashes or tickets in 25 years, whose owned about 12 vehicles in that time span can have this happen for the first time - i wonder if this vehicle's pedal geometry is off.i noticed a similar complaint for the 2012 model, although it simply said it lurched into a pole while parking.that's what i would be saying if i was trying to park rather than approaching a stop sign, luckily with no lead vehicle.
My dashboard has seperated from my control paneldue to heat in florida even though i use sun visor each day.also i notice that the electronis door locks fail to work when attempting to unlock the door, after turning the keu to the open position and returning the key back to the start possition the car re locks itself about 70% of the time
Dashboard is hold down fails through terrible designed system.dashboard is held down with cheap plastic clip on control screen.through quick online research, this is a common consistent issue with all similar mazda vehicles through many years.mazda acknowledges issue with extending their warranty; however, only for 7 years from original warranty or 2018 (whichever is the later). Advise from other customers, this "repair" does not fix the issue, and issue does occur after repairing.this issues causes an obstruction of view as well as a distraction.mazda expects customers to pay for replacing dashboard and info display!!!!
On february 5, 2015 at approximately 0525 hours the sunroof glass on my 2011 mazda 3 exploded onto me. I was very confused because i had my eyes on the road and saw no object and was not passing an overpass were someone may have dropped something. The air temperature was around 50 degrees. I was north bound on i-15 in corona, ca. I believe the sunroof just shattered on its own. I pulled the over immediately and attempted to discover the cause. I was unable to come to any other conclusion other than the sunroof just failed. This was very startling and made me jerk the wheel. Luckily i didn't strike any other vehicle.
Sunroof shattered while traveling down the highway with no obvious cause. Speed approx. 60 mph. Open road, no overpass, no debris/rocks etc. Kicked up from other cars. Temperature was low 80s, time of day was 7 pm (no direct sunlight or extreme temperatures).
My daughter was driving her mazda3 and the sunroof exploded while she was driving.her car was not hit by anything.the interior of the car and my daughter and her friend were covered in glass shards.madza refuses to take a formal complaint and says i need to prove a manufacturers defect which the auto body shop says is impossible to do with glass.my daughter said it sounded like a gunshot when the window exploded and thankfully she didn't loose control of the car from the force of the window shattering and the glass falling inside the vehicle....
