Air bag light pass. Side came on.

There is an issue with the rear brake light assembly, the red plastic assembly melted into the break light bulbs causing both rear brake lights to burn out. Currently, both assembly have holes where the red plastic melted, this is a potential fire hazard. There is an issue with the front passenger side engine mount, it has been replaced three times and continues to fail, might an engineering defect on the engine mount. Finally, dashboard airbag indicator has turned on unexpectedly and has remained on ever since, might be defective part in the srs airbag system.

In march 2008, my vehicle had warning lights turn on for both the seat belt and abs system.the dealer cleared the code and checked the system for errors.no codes re-occurred and the car was returned to me.subsequently in december 2008, the airbag light came on again.the dealer adjusted some wiring and cleared the light/code.now in september 2011, the airbag light is on again.

Mazda dealership said i need to replace the clock spring due to the air bag light being on.

The airbag warning light came on.a certified mechanic diagnosed the problem as having to do with the steering wheel airbag system.mazda was contacted and refused to do anything about it.the airbags will not deploy in case of an accident while the warning light is on.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3.while driving 35 mph, the contact's vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle.the air bags failed to deploy.two passengers seated in the rear of the vehicle were taken to the hospital.the contact and another passenger were also injured.a police report was filed.the contact feels that the vehicle is unsafe and the manufacturer should be responsible.the current and failure mileages were 33,000.

Main airbag light on dashboard comes on. When turning a corner.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a mechanic for inspection due to two different air bag warning lights randomly illuminating. The vehicle was to be further tested and diagnosed to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

I was rear ended and my car hit another car. My air bags didn't come out.

Dynamic stability control system malfunction.drivers side air bag warning light illuminated on dash. Passenger air bag light is off.

The airbag warning light came on and stayed on (thus disabling the system).took it to a garage who tested it and said that it is due to a faulty part in the steering column.i called mazda and they said they would do nothing about it.airbags will not deploy in case of an accident until it is fixed.

I was on a local highway in western ny when i caught black ice. I was going approximately 45-55 mph/ the car went into a slide which i almost corrected out of but hit more black ice sending me into the guardrail. The front end of the car is smashed and i came to rest about 25 ft from where i impacted the guardrail. No air bags went off and i was not hurt. But at that speed the airbags should have deployed. I'm not seeking any compensation but from doing a bit of research i am finding that this has happened more than a few times. Maybe a recall is in order for the 2007 mazda 3 4 dr sedan is in order?

I have an airbag light that came on. I took it to the dealer who did an estimate and told me a module in the driver side airbag in the steering wheel was no good and that a new airbag needed to be installed. They said until then non of my airbags would be working in the car. The cost was going to be between 1, 500-2, 000 to replace the part and reprogram the vehicle restraint control module. Due to the extreme cost, we chose to forgo the defective airbag replacement and have been driving our car for several years with no airbags working. It wasn't until the takata recall when it brought the issue to the forefront.it made me think that maybe this might be an issue happening in several mazda 3's. After some research i find that yes i am definitely not the only person with this issue. It would be nice to see something done considering the high cost of replacing an extremely expensive part that should not have gone out that early.

My parents' 2007 mazda 3 5 door hatchback was rear-ended while traveling at approximately 40 mph by a ford edge suv traveling at a higher rate of speed. The mazda then hit the tall concrete divider nearly head-on, propelled forward by the initial impact. The mazda was a total loss, sustaining moderate rear end damage and heavy front end damage. Both my mother (who was driving) and my father (in the front passenger seat) were injured and taken to the hospital. Both people were wearing their seat belts. Mom sustained a facial injury to the forehead, a contusion to her arm and a probable cracked sternum. Dad sustained two fractured ribs as confirmed at the hospital and other more minor injuries. I am concerned because none of the airbags on the car went off, and i would expect at least the front ones would have, considering how hard the frontal collision was when car hit the concrete barrier. I am concerned that their injuries would have been less severe if the airbags had gone off when the car hit the barrier. I did take pictures of the inside and outside of the car showing the damage and the interior with the airbags intact and unused.....updated 07/23/14

Cruising northbound on rt. 3 just beyond exit 5. The traffic was heavy.suddenly, with zero warning signs from the state highway maintenance crews, i entered a pot hole.roughly 30-35 feet in length, 15 + feet in width and a variance in depth of 6"-12" i rode the pothole out and upon exiting the potholeto normal highway grade my vehicle lost control due to the 'bump' of the inconsistency from normal grade to a pothole in severe negligent disrepair. I slid for approx. 50-60 yards, speed remained between 60-65 mph. I struck a snowbank12ft in height andthe brunt of the first impact on my neck as my airbag did not deploy. I have spoken to the mazda corporation, asked if they intended to investigate why the airbag did not deploy. They said, i have this conversation...both of them on record, it was not mazda's responsibility to send afield agentto investigate why it did not deploy. The customer service rep. Was very quick to insist that it is my insurance company's job. I feel it was defective. Mainly i am bothered at the fact that mazda has claimed, (on the record ) that they will not be sending a field agent to investigate a possible defect. I feel it is absolutely irresponsible on their part. It is something that most certainly must be looked into as i feel 100% that my injuries would have been much less had the air bag deployed upon the initial 60-65mph impact. There is exposed styrofoam from my front bumper and my fog lights are all nilly willy and hanging off the car along with 50% of the front fender. Ican say that it is immensely negligent on mazda's part to deny an investigation. They told me that is my insurance company's job, however, it's not because they did not manufacture the defective product, mazda did. I am suffering a concussion and cervical musculoskeltal system damage, and truly feel my injuries would be lessened had the airbag deployed.

My daughter was driving on city street when she was involved in an accident back in october 2018 were she flipped into a stream. She escaped with bruises and cuts, i am very thankful that nothing worse happen to her.when the wrecker was pulling her car out, i noticed that the roof of the car was crushed in as well as the front and back of the vehicle.the mazda 3 that we purchased for our daughter was totaled but no airbags ever came out. The cop, ems worker, and i was wondering why none of the airbags deployed.i kept checking to see if there was a recall on her car but the website keeps saying 0.i really think this should be investigated promptly!

I crash my car mazda 3 model, i flip the car five times and non of the airbags open, the car has crashed in all sites very badly. I injured my head and spine and i had internal bleeding on my left eye. I want from your company to give me advise you might need pictures of the car. The accident was in europe last july 2007. Thank you.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda mazda3. The contact stated that while stopped at an intersection, another vehicle crashed into his front driver's side. The air bags did not deploy. An authorized dealer offered no assistance and the manufacturer was not notified. The vehicle was awaiting a diagnostic test. A police report was also available. The failure and current mileages were 39,000.

Fuel propulsion system cracked at coupling under the rear passenger seat spewing massive amounts of fuel into the cab soaking the rear seat pad fire risk present with electric plug there struts are unstable and noisy vvt makes noise when started, grinding in front hubs. Vehicle has some of these problems driving and parked. Airbags system non active. Other issues unknown but possible 35.

Tech scanned ecu and found the following codes: b2232 airbag circuit open- loop #2 drivers side. Light sensor is on, airbags will not deploy if involved in accident. Many online forumshave discussed issue evolving after 100k. Many people have paid out of pocket. I am and have been the only owner of this vehicle. The warning light does not go away if trying to just reset it. It will illuminate again within seconds of vehicle being turned on.

My air bag warning light is constantly on, sometimes it turns off but goes back on and stays on.this has been going on for a year now.i recieve email for mazda recalls.i notice that were two mazda recalls for air bags.recall number 2304j-a crack in the air bag crash zone sensor housing and mada recall number 2504k-a crack in the solder connection attaching the acceleration sensor in the sas unit.i called mazda all they had to say that my vin number shows no recall.im afraid if i get into an accident my air bag will not work.this recall should cover my mazda.please help, thank you.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3. For longer than a month, the air bag warning light remained illuminated. The dealer indicated that there may have been a loose wire and the vehicle would need to be scheduled for an appointment to inspect and diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000. Updated 04/29/16*ljupdated 10/05/16.

Takata recall. Inquiring if this vehicle is affected by the recall.

Red air bag light on.

I was stopped at a red light and a toyota 4 runner rear-ended me at 35 - 40 mph.none of my airbags deployed.

Airbag failed to deploy in an accident where i hit another car (my front end hit her tail end).i hit the other person's car doing approximately 40 mph and came to a dead stop on impact.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3.while driving 40 mph, the contact rear ended another vehicle.the air bags failed to deploy.the driver sustained minor injures.the insurance company stated that the vehicle was destroyed.a police report was filed.the vehicle has not been inspected by mazda.the current and failure mileages were 6,963.

I was rear ended by a city transit bus going approx. 30mph.at the point of impact my seat dislodged from it's position and flew back to the furthest position, then locking in place.i was unable to hit the brakes - therefore, pushing me into another vehicle of which i rear ended.my brand new car was considered a total loss.i did severe damage to the car i rear ended.the airbags also failed to deploy.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda mazda3. As the contact started the vehicle, the frontal air bag warning indicator was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing where the technician recommended that the vehicle be taken to the dealer for additional diagnosis. The contact secured an appointment with the dealer for diagnostic testing. The failure mileage was 75,000.

The driver's airbag failed to deploy in a 2007 mazda 3 driven by my 17-year-old daughter, following a severe front-end collision involving this vehicle and another vehicle, whose driver had run a red light.

2007 mazda3 was involved in a crash that totaled the vehicle.impact was on the driver front wheel and only air bag deployed was the driver airbag.the car was equipped with side air bags and side air curtains and they did not deploy.

Driver side curtain airbag deployment while driving aprox 55miles/hr on the freeway. No collision. After inspection, manufacturer said it was insurance issue not theirs. Conducted my own investigation and hired specialists, results were that edr (event data recovery system) downloaded codes for short circuit to the driver side curtain. Case is in court. Car has less then 25000 miles on it.

Car hit on driver's side by car traveling at approx 30 mph with no deployment of side air bags.

My brake light housing is melted on both sides. The brake light bulb is melted into the brake light sockets on both the left and right brake lights. I noticed while driving in the city and cars were flagging me to tell me my brake lights are out. I pulled into a auto shop to check and both sides were melted. I had my car since 2013 and everything was original stock.my check engine light flashes and when i had it checked they said it may be faulty fuel pump, because that's the only code that shows and i already had everything replaced. My car very frequently stalls out (highways and city streets) even after replacing the fuel pump and o2 sensor. The passenger airbag light flickers frequently, with and without passengers.

Power window control issue on driver's side only - the driver's power window button will work for awhile and then intermittently stop working for a day or so.it will randomly start working again.not sure if it happens more when it rains.i did see that gm just put a recall describing the exact same thing i'm experiencing and was wondering if it might be the same issue...they describe it as moisture entering the driver's window resulting in the power control not working intermittently.it first started happening in my car about back in may, but it might have been even longer.

When i start the car and start driving the power steering stiffens and the dash board lights go on and off and the head lights like its losing power. Then is i push the gas to go the vehicle will shut off with the steering will being hard to turn this happened while backing up and starting to drive on the redidential street

As i slowed down to turn a corner, the power steering light came on the dash, the car lost power.a few days later the same thing happened but the car stalled. So far this has happen 6 times. The dealer told me my car is not under the recall notice.

Every 3 months front headlight are replaced.

My vehicle felt shaky which caused me to swerve slightly causing my back passenger tire to run over a curb. After the scare it seemed to drive like normal. I only had about a 5 minute drive to work. When getting to work, after being inside a few minutes, a coworker pointed out that smoke was coming from the car. I went with a coworker to check, we opened the hood and flames were present in the front close to where the belts are. We quickly put out the flames with a fire extinguisher, andi have not touched the vehicle. This happened on 5/03/19.

There is an issue with the rear brake light assembly, the red plastic assembly melted into the break light bulbs causing both rear brake lights to burn out. Currently, both assembly have holes where the red plastic melted, this is a potential fire hazard. I have constantly replaced my driver window motor.the driver window switch/motor stops working for no reason.in addition the entire headunit stops working.it shuts on and off while in the middle of driving.sometimes to powers right back on and other times it can take days for it to turn back on.

Any time i proceed to make a turn, my wheel stiffens. Every light in my dashboard lights up. My radio cuts off and car stalls. This is very dangerous. There is a recall for this exact problem with this exact model of car but my vin is not covered.

Since we had this car, we've had to repair the engine oxygen sensor at least 2 times. Why this continues to malfunction we don't know, but at some point we shouldn't have to pay for a faulty engine/electrical system part.

Power steering went out, as well as the clock and radio.this happened on friday.

The brake light housing (amber lens) was heated by the bulb to such a degree that the lens itself melted onto the bulb. We are not entirely sure when this happened and may have been ongoing for quite some time. Upon inspection by an experienced automotive technician, it was confirmed that the bulbs were the correct model and had been installed correctly. Some of the plastic had melted down onto the bulb itself and could potentially become a fire hazard. This problem impacted both driver and passenger sides, with the driver side appearing more significantly melted. After a quick search on mazda forums, this appears to be an issue experienced by many owners of 2007 mazda 3 models, but only those in the hatchback configuration.

I have been having issues with this vehicle ever since i purchased it from a dealership in woodbridge, va. The car's gears does not shift correctly and the engine continuously stalls. If i'm at a traffic light and the light switches from red to green the vehicle jumps as if it's going to cut off. My at light also came on and my check engine light comes on and off. Every time the vehicle's engine light is checked, it's because of "the thermostat" which i've seen many complaints from owners of the same type of vehicle. Although, the engine code is coming up as an issue with the thermostat, there's actually never an issue. I searched my vin and its stating there are no open recalls for my vehicle, but i'm having the same issues as the open recalls for this particular make and model for 2007. I bought the vehicle october 2013 so there's no way mazda could've sent me information pertaining to the recall and the dealership did not inform me of this either.

The check engine light came on. Cause ,after running code check,p2004. Runner control vale stuck. Replace solenoid. Front struts gone.

2007 mazda 3 instrument panel gauges are very hard to read in bright daylight.the speedometer is my main problem.

The steering wheel seems to have lost all power steering capabilities, very scary!makes it extremely dangerous when attempting turns!noticed it luckily as i was pulling out of a large parking lot.trying to remedy the situation so i can use a car that isn't an accident waiting to happen.

While driving, i slowed down and when turning, my wheel locked up and i had no control over my turn. My abs light flashed, along with the traction light. The radio turned off and then came back on. The wheel unlocked and luckily i was not turning where someone was stopped.

Any time i proceed to make a turn, my wheel stiffens. Every light in my dashboard lights up. My radio cuts off and car stalls. This is very dangerous. There is a recall for this exact problem with this exact model of car but my vin is not covered.

As i placed the manual 5-door sedan model into reverse gear and slowly inched out of the parking space, the power to the radio and air conditioning died and a the power steering wheel light came on the dashboard. As i placed the car into first gear and began to move the vehicle forward, great difficulty was felt trying to get the vehicle to turn and the ac and radio kept turning off. As i attempted to enter onto the main street, the vehicle once again had great difficulty turning and almost created an accident. This inability to turn the wheel and the electrical going out, resulted in me eventually pulling to the curb and turning the vehicle off. After giving the vehicle a few minutes, i restarted it and had no issues until i was pulling into my apartment complex about 15 minutes away where the same power steering light came on and i couldn't fully turn the vehicle.the issue seems to be with the power steering pump and are exactly the same complaints that can be found with nthsa campaign number 10v374000

I had a serious accident because my steering locked up so i couldn't steer my steering wheel . I rolled my car and nearly was killed

I had just got my grandson and was traveling down i75 in ga i was going to merge into the next lane from the fast lane, i looked in my rear view mirror and side mirror and then back in front, i had plenty of time and room, as i started to merge it was like i could hardly turn the wheel and like i was breaking instead of spending up to get into the other lane, it happened so fast i had no idea what had taken place because i never should have hit the car, suv. In front of me, i hit him with my left front headlight, but if my car had been running as it should have i would have been out of the lane and passing him i was stunned, and i didn't know anything about any of the recalls on my car, and i went to the dealer where i brought it, new from time to time and had work done, maintenance and was never told but i sure knew when my transmission was going out and they said i was passed warranty on it so i ordered a new one and had them install it but never told anything about the 2 recalls and when i was in the collision i told my friend who came to get me something was wrong with my car, it didn't want to turn and it slowed down without me touching the brakes. I guess that's what saved our lives but if it had not happened i would never have had the wreck my car was totaled, i was not hurt not bad just bruised by the airbag and my grandson had seatbelt marks on his neck and waist. Of course i took pictures and i will up load them for you

Dynamic stability control system malfunction.drivers side air bag warning light illuminated on dash. Passenger air bag light is off.

I was notified by the mazda dealership that an integral hydraulic engine mount was cracking and needed replacement.i was just past my car's warranty so i drove on it since they said it was safe.on november 8th 2013 during a service i was told the integral mount was about to break and needed immediate replacement.they said if the mount had broken while driving it could cause an accident, not to mention destroy the motor.i had them replace it but had to pay out of pocket since it was past warranty and not a recall. I researched online and found numerous complaints from other owners of the same series car and within adjacent years of the same motor mount cracking and needing replacement under 50,000 miles.some complained about having to replace the replacement later after putting some more mileage on it.this is an obviously inherently defective part that should be recalled.please look into this and force mazda to recall this defect as it is a danger to public safety if one were to break while driving. Thank you so much for your time and service.

The car idles very high which prevents it from shifting into gear most of the time. The idle and rpms will also accelerate when no one is touching the gas while driving making the car speed up when you are not speeding up. When these issues are happening the car also shuts off while driving it (while it is still on and being driven down the road) or sometimes will rev up when you push on the break causing it to launch forward. My car has almost caused several accidents because it died while driving it on the freeway and the starring wheel locked and could not be turned to drive me off to the side of the road. It has also launched forward while braking causing me to almost hit cars in front of me.

My vehicle started shaking on friday.i parked it, later started it and started to move.heard a crash.my transmission and engine fell.motor mounts broken, damaged my axle.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start when the fuel tank was filled. The dealer performed a diagnostic, which located a failure code at the purge valve. The valve was replaced, but the vehicle experienced additional failures. The front end vibrated and the engine stalled while driving 65 mph. The dealer performed diagnostic testing, which indicated that the engine mount was worn, the struts leaked, and the evap system failed. However, the valves were replaced. The engine mount, struts, and evaporating system were not replaced. The rotor also wore prematurely and could not be resurfaced. The front bumper clips failed due to defective plastic. The clips were replaced several times; however, the failure was not corrected. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 07v295000 (engine and engine cooling). The failure mileage was 50,000.

Cracked engine mounts.common problem in the vehicle year and model.should be looked at for recall.

While driving my car to turn into the shopping center parking lot, the steering wheel locked upand was very stiff. At the same time the engine shut off and essentially causing my car to stop in the middle of the parking lot. All engine, power, and battery lights flashed on and off at the same time. I ended up putting the car in park turn off the car with my key and then restarting it again.after researching i saw there was a recall for my model and year, when i called the customer service department the rep not having any notice for a recall for my type of model and did not honor the recall that i had mentioned to him. I am now having to look outside of my means in order to pay for this issue.

Upon stopping at a red light my car started shaking really badly and then shut off. This has happened on numerous occasions since the initial incident. When the brakes are not applied, the engine will not shake, but obviously for safety reasons, the breaks must be applied while stopped at a traffic light. On 3 other occasions the car turned off just as i was giving it gas to start going again, resulting in me having to coast over to the shoulder (with the car being off and no power steering to assist) in order to get my car started again. This is a dangerous fault that i have seen so many people complain of. I have read it is due to a faulty purge solenoid valve along with other things, but no one at mazda seems to know or care much about it.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3. While driving 50 mph, the vehicle lost power, steering ability, and the radio shut off. Also, the power steering warning indicator illuminated. The local dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The contact stated that the failure was similar to the failure listed in nhtsa campaign number: 10v374000 (steering). The failure mileage was 210,548.

Vehicle was traveling along on 30 mph road with 'stop' sign ahead. As vehicle slowed down to about 15 mph, transmission started to shake, several warning lights came on and off, including oil and power steering, rpm fell very close to 0 (zero) and car died. Vehicle was able to stop at the 'stop' sign. Even though the vehicle was still on, any pressure on the gas pedal did not provide power or input to the transmission, now in 1st gear, to move the car. Car needed to be completely turned off and then turned on before it could move again. This issue has been ongoing for 4 years regardless of speed. The car has also decided to stop providing power while in motion while in moving traffic or on the highway, which could have resulted in multiple car crashes or worse. Mazda refuses to acknowledge that anything is wrong with the car since they "cannot replicate the problem". This issue is sporadic and occurs regardless of speed (usually around 30 mpg or less), weather, distance traveled, amount of time car has been in consistent use, etc. Mazda has even hooked this car up to their computer system and no error code has been found. This issue has been extensively documented with our local mazda dealer and paperwork is available for review. This car has been a true lemon since we bought it. It only has roughly 55k miles on it.

Was driving down the freeway and all of a sudden it sounded like i ran over a large piece of debris and the car jolted. I tried to accelerate but there was no response and safely pulled over. Turned the car off and tried to turn it back on but there was no turnover. Looked at it and there was oil mixed with metal shards and a crack in the engine. Took it to the dealership of purchase and it was determined that the engine had blown. Let the manufacturer know but they did nothing to help.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3. While driving various speeds, the transmission control module failed and the vehicle began jerking and shaking. Also, when the gears were shifted, the vehicle jerked violently. In addition, the "check engine" and "automatic transmission" indicators illuminated. Wilson automotive in orange county, california was made aware of the failure and stated that the warranty on the vehicle had expired. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,400.

While trying to accelerate form a stop my car stalled. The engine shut off but the radio and all indicator lights were onthe dash. I had to put the car into park and turn the key to the off position and restart the engine. My car is an automatic transmission and has done this multiple times all at similar speeds. Going from a complete stop or from idling speed trying to accelerate.

2007 mazda 3, whenever i come to a stop my vehicle vibrates really bad as if it want to stop. I have took the mazda back to flow mazda and they said it was nothing but everytime i stop it does the same thing. I also took it to sears and they said they see nothing wrong with the vehicle but something is calling the vehicle tovibrate whenever it isn't moving.

Then is i push the gas to go the vehicle will shut off with the steering will being hard to turn this happened while backing up and starting to drive on the redidential street

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3. The contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the engine. The contact noticed that the vehicle had excessively consumed all the oil in the engine. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 192,000.

The check engine came on. I took the car twice to a mazda trained mechanic who was not able to solve the problem. The diagnostic tool showed a p-2177 code. Many other mazda owners have had this problem. The indicator check engine came on while driving on the interstate.see http://www.mazda3forums.com/61-powertrain-2004-2009-mazda3/386097-cel-dreaded-p2177-code-no-solvable-reason.html

Since we had this car, we've had to repair the engine oxygen sensor at least 2 times. Why this continues to malfunction we don't know, but at some point we shouldn't have to pay for a faulty engine/electrical system part.

The fiberglass tunnel heat shield had deteriorated and parts of the fiberglass were falling onto the exhaust piping and catalytic converter and burning. The odor from the burning was noticeable both inside the car and when standing outside next to the engine. Burning occurred both when the car was stationary and in motion.

Car engine is making a ticking noise. Upon research, see there was a lawsuit filed against mazada for timing chains. This unbelievable. The repair cost is over 1500.00 for something they have know about for years.

The check engine light came on. Cause ,after running code check,p2004. Runner control vale stuck. Replace solenoid. Front struts gone.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda3. The contact stated that on three occasions while driving between 30-35 mph, the vehicle suddenly stopped without prior warning. The check engine light and power steering light both illuminated after the failure. The contact replaced the battery but the failure occurred again. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was told that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. The contact had not spoken with the manufacturer at the time of the complaint. The vin was unavailable. The current mileage was approximately 35,550. The failure mileage was approximately 35,510.

I am the owner of a 2007 mazda 3 .several days ago, while my 18 year old daughter was driving it, the car lost power, locking the steering (while she was on a curve), and she left the road, hitting a tree, and totaling the car.she was not hurt.

1. Got into my car. Dry warm weather.2. It has happened on numerous occasions. I start it up and begin to take off and it just shuts off. Engine dies completely. Like as if my car was a manual and i wasnt giving it enough gas at take off but that isnt the problem because it is automatic. It has also done it at low operating speeds.3. Have not found a correction.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3.on august 29, 2008, the power steering failed while making a right turn.the steering wheel became very difficult to turn and the vehicle had to be towed to the dealer.the dealer replaced the computer and the power steering pump.on march 27, 2009, the failure recurred while making a right turn.in addition, the power steering indicator illuminated.the vehicle was towed to the dealer again, where it has remained for the past two weeks.the dealer will replace the power steering parts for the second time; however, the contact does not feel comfortable driving the vehicle.he would like mazda to purchase the vehicle back.the failure mileage was 32,500.updated 05/07/09.*ljthe oxygen sensor was faulty. The dealer replaced the power steering pump and module assembly. The right front strut was replaced. Updated05/07/09.

Oxygen sensor #2 had been cross-threaded into the exhaust manifold. Damage was done at the factory. Dealer refused to replace the part do to the fact that i had found the problem and not them.

1. Start car, turn on air conditioner2. Turning on the air conditioner causes the engine to become unusually sluggish and shut off. I feel that if not replaced could cause a crash as the car is unusually sluggish and the motor randomly shuts off.3. The failure has not been corrected, mazda stated it was that i needed a new air compressor and a/c clutch, although i think that should not be needed on a 3 year old car. It is also not warranty covered and cost just over $700.00 to fix...

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3. The contact stated that the rear driver side tire deflated. The contact changed the tire with a spare tire and indicated that the jack was defective. Upon changing the tire, the metal frame fractured as well as the rocker panel without warning. A tire repair shop replaced the tire. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided no remedy. The vin and failure mileage were not available. Ma 08/10/15 updated 10/25/2017

The rear brake light housing in my 2007 mazda 3 hatchback is melting. It is the top red light on both sides. These are stock brake lights and have never been replaced. The dealership will not replace for free even though this is a design flaw and safety issue from mazda. Upon further research of this issue, there are many mazda 3 owners who also have this issue and have run into the same road blocks on getting it fixed by mazda.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda mazda3 hatchback. The contact stated that he was advised by a law enforcement officer that the tail lights were not illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis where they advised him that the tail lights were found melted and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The failure and current mileages were approximately 42,000.

We just noticed that both tail/brake lights have melted holes in the surrounding inside red plastic lens. The bulbs are the originals as are the lens. The heat is now starting to affect the outside clear cover. The outside covers are still intact, but look bubbly; the holes in the inner red lens let white light come out and it looks like we have back-up lights on continuously at night.

Every 3 months front headlight are replaced.

A few months after we bought our mazda 3 we noticed the bulbs blew out well come to find out our lenses were melting and it got so hot the socket and bulb burst so we took it to the place we bought it and they warrantied them out well guess what the tail lenses we got replaced melted again and blew out the bulbs. We took our car to mazda and the technicians found nothing wrong, no ground problem. Well we took it back to the place we bought it thinking they'd be able to warranty them out since they're less than a year well the lady wouldn't do it. Now i am stuck with my spoiler brake light and the passenger. So we decided to replace the brake switch and so far our passenger side hasn't blown out. I suggest replacing it and seeing what happens. It is a $30 part. Tonight i am buying new lenses and praying. I went through 4 bulbs in the driver and 3 bulbs in passenger. I need help figuring this out because $8 for a pack of bulbs every week is ridiculous.

Someone ran up to my car at a stop light to tell me that both of my brake lights were out. Not sure how long i have been driving around with no brake lights. I took car to shop and they said that the brake bulbs had burst and melted my tail light assemblies, presumably due to overheating. I know this is a manufacturers issue because a) i just replaced my tail light assemblies 3 months ago for the same exact issue and b) i did a quick online search and saw that many other people have had the same issue with their mazda 3 hatchbacks, tails lights melting, bulbs busting etc.this is a safety concern because people can be driving around for extended periods of time with both brake lights out and not know it, leading to rear ending accidents.i drive around multiple times a day with my baby in my car. I would be furious if i got i got rear ended while she was in the car because of something like this.

Gas tank puncture while driving to work. Puncture is pinhole size. The only event leading to this was braking hard to avoid a deer. There was no accident, no other damage to undercarriage, basically no signs of anything except a small hole in the tank.

On 8/5/16 the vehicle was bought into a mazda dealer for a gasoline odor & engine code # po455. It was determined that a split fuel pump retaining allowed the fuel pump to separate from the fuel tank causing gasoline to leak. Fortunately the vehicle did not catch on fire. Thank goodness. I may not have had a son today. The repair came to over $500.00. Mazda does not feel obligated to cover the full cost. In my opinion this is not amaintenance item but a definite safety defect.

The check engine light came on. Cause ,after running code check,p2004. Runner control vale stuck. Replace solenoid. Front struts gone.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda mazda3. The contact stated that while driving 55 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. In addition, the vehicle began stuttering and misfiring. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic for diagnosis and the contact was informed that the fuel pump would need to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle had not been replaced. The failure and current mileage was 108,000.

2007 mazda 3 parked on a moderate grade in second gear and with parking brake engaged.after 10-15 minutes car rolled backwards and hit 2 other cars.mazda was still in gear with brake engaged.

Nearly every time while driving, a yellow "at" sign will appear as the gear will jump from whatever it is to 3, causing a sudden, sharp jerk (as if one suddenly braked), before going back to whatever gear it was in. This has occured many times one instance at a time, but several times 3-8 times in rapid succession. Also, at times the gear # indicator will flicker and disappear while jumping through different numbers, also causing the traction and at warning lights to appear. During this time, the car will suddenly jerk, slow, and shift unpredictably. The car can also go into "limp mode", in which the gear gets stuck in 3rd for a period of time (usually 2 minutes to until restarting the car). All of these are extremely dangerous for the driver and drivers around them, as the car may suddenly stop or speed up with zero warning to anyone.

In march of 2014, while driving, the transmission popped out of gear and would only go from 2nd to 3rd gear (check engine and at light immediately came on).i brought it to my mechanic and they determined it was a failure of the solenoid a /transmission module...cost me $1500.then, 9 months later, the same thing happened.this time the mechanic said it was now the wire harness that was defective and had to repair shorted wires...cost me $500.then, 3 months later, the same thing happened.this time i brought car directly to local mazda dealer.i asked about recall, and they said no recall!so this time i was told solenoid b had failed and i needed a new transmission...cost me $1800.a week later, it did the same thing!!! i brought back to dealer and they said wires just needed tightening.a week later, my car wouldn't start...needed a new starter, belts, and battery...cost me $1100.this is clearly a mazda defect and i should get my money refunded!!!

Automatic 5 spd shifts harshly between 3rd and 4th gear.jerking the car when it happens.

Car randomly loses power, loss of steering and the steering wheel light blinks. It gets hard to control and the car will shut off. No matter where or what the conditions.

While driving the car will suddenly jerk as if braking quickly, the check engine light and the at (auto-transmission) light will illuminate on the dashboard. The car will then jump down to 3rd or 4th gear, disallowing it to shift properly. It will remain stuck on the lower gear with the warning lights on until the car is turned off and turned back on. A few times, in conjunction with the aforementioned problem, the car has also lost power steering. This happens on the freeway and has almost caused accidents a few different times. I have taken this to several mechanics and not a single one has been able to diagnose or resolve the issue. The output shaft speed sensor has been replaced, so this is not the issue. There is no predicting when it will happen as it seems to completely random. It has happened on the freeway while going 70 and through neighborhoods when only going 25. It's impossible to predict or give a precursor to what happened immediately prior to the car jumping gears and losing power steering. This is so dangerous.

The steering wheel seems to have lost all power steering capabilities, very scary!makes it extremely dangerous when attempting turns!noticed it luckily as i was pulling out of a large parking lot.trying to remedy the situation so i can use a car that isn't an accident waiting to happen.

The transmission began taking severe and erratic shifts when going uphill when my mazda reached 70,000 miles. These shifts are so severe that the first time it happened i thought a tire had blown out. It occurred on a high mountain pass that has no siderails and many fatalities have occurred simply from weather conditions. When we contacted mazda customer service, they admitted that a defective part was in the transmission from the original purchase of the car. The part, in fact, is no longer manufactured because it has been rendered defective. Mazda told us over the course of several months and hours of putting us on hold and several more thousand miles put on the car that the only thing we could do is replace the entire transmission because it was no longer under warranty. Why is this not a safety issue and therefore a recall? mazda customer service promised to review the case and our multiple phone calls, never got back with us, and refused to see that it is a safety issue. They will do nothing to repair the transmission because oftheir faulty manufacturing. We still continue to go over this pass, now in snowy and icy conditions with a baby in the backseat and no idea when the transmission will go out. Unfortunately until someone is seriously injured or dies mazda won't take this issue seriously. I have lost all faith in mazda's quality of assurance or concern for customer safety and will not be purchasing another mazda in the future.

Transmission failure. Service bulletin #05-010/10 issued 8/6/2010.i took it in to have the same symptoms that is stated in the bulletin and they said the fluid was a little low so they put a quart in today.when i was driving home the transmission blew up.please check the forumsthere is a lot of good information on those sites.the only problem is the the information disappears quickly.i don't know why?

I have a 2007 mazda mazda3 and had to replace the transmission at about 50,000 miles.luckily that was covered under warranty.now at 80,000 miles, i'm being told that the transmission is bad again and needs to be replaced. The first time it was busy-shifting hard from 4th to 3rd gear when going up large hills.this wore on the engine and cracked the cv boot.after replacement, this issue no longer occured.now, at 80,000 miles, second gear has totally given out, it skips second and shifts from 1st to 3rd.they say it needs to be replaced again... After just 30,000 miles.this is not normal wear and tear!my extended warranty is expired and the warranty on that transmission is apparently expired as well...please recall these transmissions... It is not fair to the customer.

Clutch pedal was depressed, shifting from 3rd to 2nd as the gear lever hit neutral there was afaint popping noise, clutch pedal froze in the down position, i sensed something wrong and allowed forward momentum to pull to the curb. I attempted to finish shifting, gears were unusable, clutch pedal frozen down. This all occurred in a half a second or less. Luckily i was in the right lane and there was surprisingly little traffic. 2 blocks further and this would have occurred in heavy rush hour traffic at 65 miles an hour.after 5 minutes of making phone calls for assistance, the clutch pedal released and i was able to slowly limp to the dealership. There were no prior signs of clutch wear except for a couple prior days in which the clutch felt a little softer then normal but so little i couldn't tell if was the new shoes or the car.the car has 38,000 miles. It is used primarily to get to work with 50/50 street and highway driving and roughly 36 miles a day. With 4 models of this brand over 20 years i have never had a clutch repair with an average life of 90-100k miles.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3. Whenever thetransmission was in 3rd gear it slips into neutral, which makes the vehicle drift backwards.also when driving up a hill the vehicle will slip intoneutral instead of third gear.he was in the process of taking the vehicle to the dealer. The failure mileage was 80,000.

I have sustained a painful ergonomic injury to my right achilles tendon from the poor design of the accelerator/brake area and the limited seat adjustment in this car (2007 mazda speed 3).i have to ice my ankle every night. When driving it is painful and can become numb, reducing my ability to do emergency braking.i am concerned that this will lead to an accident.the issue started in early january with less than 100 miles on the car - now i have 1300 on the car and experience this every day i drive the vehicle.

While driving, i slowed down and when turning, my wheel locked up and i had no control over my turn. My abs light flashed, along with the traction light. The radio turned off and then came back on. The wheel unlocked and luckily i was not turning where someone was stopped.

After a hard brake event to avoid a crash, brake pedal is soft and loses pressure. Identical to many, many ford and mitsubishi reports on models that use the same abs equipment. Abs valves probably leaking internally. Dealer refuses to remedy and insists brakes are fine - they are not, significantly worse since hard brake incident. Oem abs part no longer available (i wonder why?) so the only repair option is a used part that is probably also defective in manufacture.

The abs system is broken.

I believe this issue may be the same as investigation pe 16-017.that mentions only ford/mercury cars, but i think they share some components with mazda3's of the same years.after an incident where abs engaged while braking on a slippery city street, the brake pedal became very "mushy" and now the brakes take a worryingly large amount of travel (almost to the floor) to slow the car in regular driving.

Mazda 3 brakes and rotors were replaced at 18,000.mechanic says the pads were worn thin and the rotors warped.he had never seen any thing link this for a new low mileage car.replaced them on the spot out of fear for safety.mazda needs to own up to warped rotor issue and not blame it on driving and braking.isn't a car suppose to drive and brake when necessary?any comment from mazda on recall would help me feel better about buying this model.

Emergency/parking brake failurei parked my car in the driveway at my mother's house at the top of the driveway, which is relatively flat and only a very slight incline. There is a portion of driveway between the sidewalk and the house level which is steeper; however my car was parked above that area and on the flat portion. The car is a manual transmission and i had set the car to neutral with the emergency parking brake on. About 20 minutes after the car had been parked, it rolled backwards- down the driveway, out into the street and hitting 2-3 trash cans, and ended up jumping the curb on the opposite side of the street. The rear left tire was up on the curb and the mazda 3 collided with the rear right corner of another parked vehicle. I witnessed the incident from inside the house and there were several other witnesses.when we looked at the mazda 3 after it had come to a stop on the opposite curb, we saw from the outside that the emergency brake was indeed engaged.background information on vehicle use: i always fully engage the brakes before parking and setting the emergency brake.when parking on any obviously sloped surface, i always put the car into gear (into 1st when sloped upwards, and into reverse when sloped downwards) and set the emergency brake, as well as turn the wheels toward the curb when parallel-parked. I have kept up with normal scheduled maintenance and have read through the owner's manual which does not mention anything about when to inspect the emergency brake's effectiveness.i had the issue inspected by the mazda dealer 2/7/11 and they said they "could not duplicate my issue", also that everything was in proper working order. All they could do was adjust my parking brake (which does feel tighter now). I asked if there is anything i should do differently when i park. They answered that i have been using the correct parking procedures.

1.normal everyday driving, current mileage just under 16,700.2.occurs when driving the car above 40 mph and then applying the brakes, the car shimmys hard (steering wheel shakes and so does braking foot as it is applying brakes)3.took the car to the dealer service center for diagnosis and repair.the dealer would not repair under warranty as the car has more than 12,000 miles.dealer indicated that the front rotors are warped and need to be repaired for $189.after much research on the internet, i have discovered that this is a very common problem with the mazda with many rotors warping well under the 12,000 mile threshold on the warranty.i have owned many cars and this is the only car that i have ever experienced "warped rotors".

This car has never been in an acident, and has been very well maintained. The car, a mazda 3 hatchback grand touring has an ongoing brake defect. The front brake rotors became warped around 17,000 miles. I "paid" $300.00 to have the rotors turned and purchased new brake pads and had them installed. According to mazda it was my fault due to "heavy braking"and there is no way mazda brake rotors are faulty, and it is not a warrantied item. Three months and 7,000 miles later the front brake rotors are warped again and have become a blueish-black due to extremley high temperatures, the rear discs have the same discorloation due to extreme high temps and also need to be replaced. There were no signs of heavy breaking except the discoloration. The new pads i had installed at 17,000 miles still looked new, this illustrates i am" not" a "heavy breaker" and there is a defect. This time mazda did not put the blame on me for "heavy breaking" nor did they take responsbility. Mazda said if i were driving down the road and the brakes would just "lock up" during braking they'd consider it a faulty part and replace it. Apparently i must be put in an extremely dangerous, life threatening situation before mazda will replace any parts. After mazda told me this i've become very uncomfortable with the idea of driving this car and i'm afraid the brakes could lock up on me at anytime or just quit working. Mazda also told me "this is not a warrantied item" and if i have any problems i need to take it up with the "corporate office" and gave me the number. I havent called the corporate office yet i'm pretty sure they'll blame me and tell me alot crap i do not want to hear. I don't know how you the nhtsa deal with theese problems, please keep me informed of any progress made.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3. While the contact was driving approximately 45 mph the steering wheel began to shake. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on two separate occasions for the identical failure. The failure was contributed to warped brake rotors which were resurfaced twice at the dealers expense. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on a third occasion where the technician stated the brake rotors required replacement and could not be resurfaced. The manufacturer was notified and they advised that there was not a recall defect related to the problem and the defect was not under the service warranty. The failure mileage was 10,000. The current mileage was 30,000.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3. While turning out of a parking lot, the steering wheel seized. The contact was required to use excessive force to turn the steering wheel. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 10v374000 (steering). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000.

The steering wheel seems to have lost all power steering capabilities, very scary!makes it extremely dangerous when attempting turns!noticed it luckily as i was pulling out of a large parking lot.trying to remedy the situation so i can use a car that isn't an accident waiting to happen.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3. While driving 30 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to turn and the power steering malfunction warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The failure mileage was 42,000.

The power steering assist would reset itself within minutes and the contact was able to drive the vehicle. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic who advised her that the power steering pump would need to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 111,000.updated 06/16/11*ljthe consumer stated a recall was issued for the steering problem. However, his vehicle identification number as not included in the recall.the consumer was informed the power steering pump needed to replaced. Updated 06/27/11

I am the owner of a 2007 mazda 3 .several days ago, while my 18 year old daughter was driving it, the car lost power, locking the steering (while she was on a curve), and she left the road, hitting a tree, and totaling the car.she was not hurt.

When my vehicle is in motion the power steering assist will abruptly stop functioning. It happens randomly while driving.

Drove vehicle a short distance, parked & shut off engine.started engine a short time later and as soon as i turned the steering wheel the power steering assist malfunction lamp turned on and the wheel could not be turned with reasonable effort (car was still stopped).

As i slowed down to turn a corner, the power steering light came on the dash, the car lost power.a few days later the same thing happened but the car stalled. So far this has happen 6 times. The dealer told me my car is not under the recall notice.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3. While driving 40 mph, the steering wheel began to seize while steering in the opposite direction. The power steering light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 10v374000 (steering). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 166,000.

While driving the vehicle, the lights flash, radio cuts out, engine glitches and dash lights come on, then power steering is lost.the loss of power steering makes controlling the vehicle very difficult and unsafe.the power steering may come back to normal after a few seconds or may take several minutes to return making controlling the vehicle frightening and unsafe.episodes will occur randomly and without warning (other that flash of lights and radio cut out for brief moment).episodes occur frequently and while vehicle is driving at various speeds as well as when stopped, but typically while driving.

The power steering went out while driving down the road.apparently this is an ongoing problem with the 2007 mazda3.the dealer stated that this particular vehicle was not covered on the list of recalls.there are more than 215,000 mazda's that have or will be repaired, however i am required to pay a large repair bill to fix a problem that mazda knows is their problem.

My 2007 mazda 3 was traveling southbound in the left lane at 75mph on the freeway when it began to drift to the left; when i attempted to correct the vehicle the steering was stiff and the wheel would not turn. The car continued going left over the rumble strips and into the dirt shoulder. At this time the car then shot right nearly perpendicular to the flow of southbound traffic, where i began to go off the road to the right. The car then hit the dirt shoulder and rolled 2 times before coming to a stop on the drivers side. The car was facing north and on its side when it finally settled. Only 20 minutes before the crash i noticed a squeaking noise coming from the front passenger side.i also noticed a few days later that in the usual spot where i park, there was what looked like clean oil drips (they could have been brake fluid or power steering fluid, but the color was that of clean oil). The car has never leaked before.the car has be declared a total loss due to this accident. The mazda3 had approx 56000 miles, and was the standard sport model hatchback with automatic transmission. It was purchased in oct. 06.

Power steering goes out without warning. I was driving in stop and go traffic on a hot day when the power steering just quit. I drove for a distance without the power. When i came to a stop i shut off my car and restarted right away and the power steering came back on. It's oh happened once in three years.

While driving my 2007 mazda 3 the power steering went out.i called the 1-800 number but they said that my car was not under the recall.i think it's too big of a coincidence for this to happen to my car also and not be under the recall.

Power steering completely failed for unknown reason. Mazda has a recall out for power steering pumps for other mazda 3s but my car vin is not in the range of vins with the faulty pump. All my electrical such as battery, alternator, eletrical cables and fuse are in good condition. I've flushed the power steering and still nothing. I could not get hold of anyone tech savy who could understand what my problem was at mazda.

Power steering pump went out.had to wait over 2 weeks now for parts, 3 other mazdas at same dealership waiting for the same parts.

Power steering is not working properly. It is very difficult to turn the steering wheel when at a complete stop. Sometimes i need to slam on the brakes in order to prevent a crash due to not being able to control the direction of the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda mazda3. The contact stated their daughter was driving at 15 mph, when making a right turn the steering wheel locked up causing the driver to hit a curb and crash the vehicle into a mailbox. There were no warning lights illuminated on the vehicle, however, the driver stated there was a beeping noise coming from the vehicle once the steering wheel locked up. There was no one injured. There was no medical treatment at the scene. A police report was filed. There was damage where the front bumper of the vehicle came off and the front passenger side. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximate 101,000.

I was making a turn and my vehicle had suddenly become very difficult to steer.happened twice that day and when i parked, my vehicle shut off.i took it in to get it checked and was informed there was a safety recall for power steering issues on mazda 3 2007-2009.i called mazda customer service and was informed my vehicle vin did not fall under the recall and that they would not repair my vehicle unless it was at my own expense.mazda only recalls specific vehicles and not all.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda3. While driving at an unknown speed, a loud rattling noise emitted from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the rear stabilizer control link and ball joint fractured. The rear stabilizer brushing ring and the control link were replaced. In addition, the contact stated that the steering wheel locked while attempting to turn left. The contact was able to complete the turn but the vehicle stalled in the middle of the intersection. The contact restarted the engine and the vehicle resumed normal operation. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 10v374000 (steering). The steering failure was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 85,000.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3. While driving 40 mph, the power steering warning light illuminated and the steering wheel became extremely difficult to maneuver. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and refused to provide any assistance since the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 10v374000 (steering). Thevehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 137,000.

When i tried making a turn at a slow rate i felt the car stutter and the steering became very hard and my car stalled...turned the car back on and it was ok..few days later it happen again..went online and read there was a recall for the power steering failing. Called the dealership where i bought my car and was told my vin was not part of the recall..i'm upset because if mazda knew it was a problem why not cover all the mazda 3 that is having this problem instead of only covering mazda's that were built between a certain time frame. I hope no one has to die in a car accident due to the power steering failing for mazda to cover all effected mazda.

There were no events leading up to this failure, it just happened all of a sudden.the power steering on my 2007 mazda 3 goes off and on all by itself.this started about 2 months ago and right now we have 34000 miles on the car.sometimes the power steering light comes on and we have no power steering but it will go away a few seconds later.other times it won't ever go off and we drive the entire trip without power steering.it is very difficult to turn and drive.we haven't corrected the problem yet but will soon.sadly the car is no longer under warranty so we will have to pay out of pocket.but this is a huge safety factor because sometimes while we are turning the power steering will start working again and so the car will suddenly turn sharply when the power steering is working.i am afraid i am going to hit something one day.

When driving you loose power and power steering. Also i under stand this is under recall, but they cut the recall short of my date of manufacture of 01/07

Sudden loss of power steering while driving. Power gets lost, comes back, gets lost and so on about every second.

Driving and lost power steering indicator light went on, abs, light came onlost power on radio and dash, called dealer and found no recalls , called mazda they said vin does not show recalls . This is a major safety concern and mazda should fix this as well as others.

My husband was driving to work when he experienced a problem with the power steering, it became very hard to steer. He made it to work, and the mazda continues to have power steering issues. Today 5/11/13,a friend informed us that there is a mazda 3 2007 power steering recall. I am upset that mazda never sent me any information regarding the recall. That is unacceptable, that is a very real concern. I called the mazda dealer number, and it just states to wait for "second" letter, well, it would have been nice to have the first letter.this is a huge safety problem, and very irresponsible of mazda not to notify all owners.

Loss of power steering while driving.

While driving on the highway, i experienced a sudden loss of power steering. I felt a sudden jerk in the vehicle and got scared. I saw the power steering light on, as well as a couple of other lights which i do not recall. There was no power steering for about 10 seconds. After 10 seconds, power steering spontaneously came back and i pulled to the side of the road and turned off the car. After restarting the car, i have not experienced the issue again yet, but it has only been a couple of hours.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3. While driving 5 mph, the power steering failed on the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 51,000.

Our 2007 mazda 3 had a sudden power steering failure at only 81,000 miles, exactly the same failure as the thousands recalled by mazda for model years 2007-2009. Mazda refused to offer any help because our car was manufactured in late 2006 (vin states 2007 model year) even though it has the identical power steering system, same part numbers. I've spent hours tracking down info and trying to find parts to get the car back on the road. Unless mazda widens the recall, other mazdas, technically outside the recall lot, will remain on the road and pose a danger to the lives of the drivers and other motorists. The steering assembly is part number br5v-32-600j.

While driving my vehicle at least 3 times the power steering goes out and makes the car unable to drive and is very scary while on the road. A few light indicates flash on my dash and the radio resets. I even saw my radio reset in between the major episodes while driving 65 mph. I was traveling at the 3 times it happened roughly 25-30 mph and was turning the vehicle. I located a recall i believe # 6010h for steering: electric power assist system, but it is for vehicles manufactured after april 2, 2017. My car was assembled on november 7, 2006. It states the power steering pump and lines need to be replaced. I cannot understand why my car manufactured 5 months prior to the recall is not covered as this could cause a severe accident where i do not feel safe driving with my kid in the car.please update the range of the recall to save more lives.

My 2007 mazda 3 lost power steering while on the interstate two times within a week making it dangerously difficult to steer.the problem did not persist until recently, (4 months later) and now i have lost power steering completely. The power steering indication light stays on and it is very difficult to steer. There recently was a recall on 2007 mazda3 for power steering issues, but my vin seems to be outside the range of the recall. Mazda should accommodate all 2007 mazda3s with power steering issues because the problem is more wide spread than probably expected and is very dangerous to lose power steering while going 40+ mph. Since my vin is not in the recall range, it is costing me $1100 for a new power steering pump. My 2007 mazda3 and all other 2007 mazda3 should be include in the recall. It is not fair to accommodate only some 2007 mazda3 and not others for the same dangerous malfunction with the power steering pump.

I was driver my mazda3i when suddenly in became hard for me to steer my car and it just cut off. I call the deal in brought in my car where informed me it was the power steering and i contact mazda because of the safety recall and they told me i wasn't eligible for the fix.

This morning, i was driving my 2007 mazda3 itouring onto the off ramp from route south to exit 15 in the area of hingham, ma. As i went around the turn to merge onto derby street, my power steering temporarily failed. It resumed functioning properly within 5 seconds.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3. While driving approximately 3 mph, the steering ability seized and the steering warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. An independent mechanic diagnosed that the power steering unit failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was driven normally after the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 155,000.

I was lucky. The power steering in my 2007 mazda 3 (which had 14,710 miles on it) failed while going through a car wash. But i gather, both from the mazda service staff and a news report, that this problem is a common one on the mazda 3.the power steering pump/lines have now been replaced; will they fail again, under less favorable circumstances?please add my experience to the data base of mazda 3, power steering failures. Thanks

The contact owns 2007 mazda mazda3. The contact stated that while driving 48 mph, a popping noise emitted from the steering column and the steering wheel seized. A steering assist warning light also began to illuminate on the instrument panel. The vehicle was merged to the shoulder and shut off. The failure continued upon restart. The vehicle was then towed to a local mechanic, who inspected the vehicle and stated that there was a recall addressing the failure. An authorized dealer was notified and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in the recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number 10v374000 (steering: electric power assist system). The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was unknown. Updated 02/22/12 updated 03/01/12

Any time i proceed to make a turn, my wheel stiffens. Every light in my dashboard lights up. My radio cuts off and car stalls. This is very dangerous. There is a recall for this exact problem with this exact model of car but my vin is not covered.

In december 2007 my 2007 mazda 3 5 door lost steering control and i slid into a telephone pole. Mazda of greatneck would not take my complaint seriously.as i was making a right turn i felt that the steering wheel became extremely loose and would not respond to my turning the wheel.

Sudden loss of power steering while driving. Vehicle has 70,000 miles. There is a recall for this year and model of vehicle for this exact issue, but my vin was not on the list. The recall should be widened to include more vehicles that are having this issue.

When i was driving my steering wheel locked up, my radio turned off and turned back on and my power steering light came on. I was going around a curve so it was really unsafe and i could have wrecked. Suddenly the lightturned off and everything was fine, about 3 minutes later it happened again. Then went back to normal.

I recently purchased this vehicle used with salvage title on february 6, 2021. I took it to be inspected and i needed both belts replaced, they had to tighten back down my struts in front, my power steering was acting funny and making noise and my intermediate speed shaft sensor is going bad because the check engine light keeps coming back on for the same code. There was damage to the vehicle but they didn't tell me that it was serious damage. When driving barely turning the wheel the car makes a whining noise, the vehicle still sways a little to the left and right but the alignment was just done yesterday. Before i was able to pay for the alignment etc new tires and mount and balance my car and steering wheel were both shaking really badly and jerking all over the place.

Power steering went out, as well as the clock and radio.this happened on friday.

Power steering pump had sudden failure while driving. Local in-town driving. Restart after cooldown operates, but fails after time. This seems identical to :nhsta recall10v374000recall date08/12/2010componentsteering:electric power assist systemhowever, this recall is for mazda's produced from 04/07. Vin in this example was manufactured 02/07

The contact owns a 2007 mazda mazda3. The contact was driving 25 mph when he felt that the power steering assist failed.the power steering reset independently as the contact attempted a turn. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vin was not included in any recalls. The failure and the current mileage was 88,000.

I was driving and my power steering went out. As i was going around a turn getting it home it started working again. After that my power steering would come and go while driving until it stopped working all together after a few months of intermittent malfunction. I was in motion while it stopped working and randomly started working again. Several times.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3. The contact stated that while driving 15 mph, there was a loss of power steering. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was confirmed the power steering pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 43,000.

For nearly a year now my car has been experiencing loss of power steering while i am driving.i am aware of the 2007 mazda 3 power steering recall and have taken my car to a local mazda dealership on multiple occasions to report the issue.they have informed me that my car's vin is not included in the recall.when i took it to the dealership to have it diagnosed, they were unable to replicate the problem.it happens every couple of days while driving and i have to pull off the road slowly and come to a full stop before the light goes off and just hope that it doesn't do it again.i have been unable to drive my car on the interstate or for long distances for fear of putting my family at risk.although my car's vin is not included in the recall, why is there not an exception to this rule?it is doing the exact same thing described within the recall and i have notified the dealership on multiple occasions with no solution from them.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3. While driving 15 mph, the power steering seized and the instrument panel illuminated. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 10v374000 (steering). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 150,000. The vin was not available.

This is a totally fictitious complaint that is unsubstantiated by any fact.

I have experienced sudden loss of power steering (about once a week). Although mazda has issued a recall for 2007-2009 mazda3 with the same problem, they refuse to pay for my repair because the manufacturing date is a few days before the recall.

My 17yo daughter was driving her 2007 mazda3 when her power steering light came on and she experienced a complete loss of power steering.she was taken by surprise but was able to maneuver to safety off the road. She restarted the car and had steering for less than a minute.i found the recall for this model and year, with these exact symptoms, but for some reason it is not applicable to this vin.mazda corp acknowledged the recall but said since the nhtsa didn't include this vin there was nothing they could do.judging by the number of similar complaints i think the nhtsa should reconsider expanding the scope.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3. While driving approximately 5 mph and making a left turn, the steering wheel became difficult to turn and the power steering warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 10v374000 (steering). The failure mileage was 90,081. Updated 7/21/15

The contact owned a 2007 mazda 3. While driving 45 mph, the steering wheel veered to the left and recovered. Without warning, the failure recurred and caused the driver to crash into a cement barrier with enough force for the vehicle to ricochet into a guardrail on the opposite side of the road. The air bags deployed. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was destroyed. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 10v374000 (steering). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but no investigations were initiated. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

When i start the car and start driving the power steering stiffens and the dash board lights go on and off and the head lights like its losing power. Then is i push the gas to go the vehicle will shut off with the steering will being hard to turn this happened while backing up and starting to drive on the redidential street

My car just got to where it won't steer and seeing it won't steer it won't start now . If u tap on the steering pump the car will start but once shut off it won't start again..

While driving on a straight stretch on the highway at typical highway speeds, i experienced a sudden loss of power steering and the dash light turned on. This was preceded by the stability control and abs lights turning on. The abs and stability control lights turned off after less than a minute. The steering light stayed on.later, as i was making a second 90 degrees left turn without power assist, the light turned off and the power steering came back suddenly while still turning. The power steering fluid was at an ideal level between min & max marker when i parked.the sudden and random loss of power steering as well as the unexpected return of the functionality are extremely dangerous as the inability to turn as expected may lead to loss of control and ultimately a collision.i notified mazda usa of the failure (800-222-5500) but because the car was manufactured in dec 2006 it's not covered by the 2010 recall # 10v374000 for the steering:electric power assist system even though the problem described is the same.

Car: 2007 mazda 3power steering will fail. It can happen at anytime, but warmer climates the problem becomes more sporadic. Most notable issues occurred when driving on highway. Temperature was approx. 94 f. Power steering failed while driving at speed of around 70 mph. Car was pulled over to shoulder. Due to failed steering, car was inoperable for next 1.5 hours. After 1.5 hours, car was restarted and steering was good again. Car was repaired 2 months later. Mazda refused to fix the issue, even after numerous complaints. Tsb was issued, but mazda still refused to repair. Vehicle was then brought to another dealership where they found a faulty power steering pump. They replaced lines and pump. Old part may still be available at dealership.

Everything shuts down,,,it was stationary at time ,,turned wheel hard, seems to me power steering motor shorting out shutting down all systems

The vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road.the vehicle did restart.this failure had occurred seven times over a period of seven months.the vehicle was taken to the dealer who could not duplicate the failure.the manufacturer was notified and advised the contact that the vehicle was not included any recalls.the approximate failure mileage was not available.

207 mazda 3hatchback powersteering loss when driving. Next day powersteering worked.lost happened again 1 week later. Next day worked again. Seemed to be intermittent.

Mazda 3 power steering failure dangerous. Mazda is not taking any initiative to contact customers. They are trying to silence the issue.basically the power steering fails on the road and is impossible to steer. Dealers have no parts and are on back order.the issue is all over every car website on the internet.mazda is not taking the issue very seriously and is telling drivers that the car is safe to drive. Even though the issue is intermittent and can happen at any time.below i have listed a couple sites which came up with a quick google search which are all flooded with customers having the problem.something needs to be done about this!http://www.mazda3club.com/showthread.php?p=409729http://www.jdpower.com/autos/powersteering/2008/mazda/3http://torontomazda3.ca/forum/showthread.php?32875-power-steering-pump-went!http://mazdaforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18579http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?topic=143562.0.

I have a 2007 mazda3 and the following happens without warning: i lose power-steering assist, the headlights go off, the dashboard resets, and either a fan or motor wears down. After a short stutter it all comes back without restarting the vehicle. Once the power steering assist remained off until the vehicle was turned off while fueling.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda mazda 3. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and attempting a turn, the steering wheel became extremely difficult to maneuver. The power steering warning light was also illuminated. The vehicle was not inspected by a dealer or an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was later contacted and advised her that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign id number 10v374000 (steering:electric power assist system). The failure mileage was approximately 61,000. The current mileage was approximately 62,000.

I heard of a power steering issue recall and would like to note there is a problem with my 2007 mazda 3 manufactured in feb 2007 - which is prior to the recall dates. When the engine is off or stalled the power steering turns off. This has not yet caused a problem, but the steering should remain active until the vehicle speed reaches zero, not just when the engine is running.i fear many people will not notice this until their vehicle is old and stalls unexpectedly - which will disable power steering and could result in a loss of control.

We've had no signs of power steering problems until a sudden failure today, classic signs of the vehicles that were recalled. Our vehicle has only 81,000 miles on it, was manufactured in 09/06, vin prior to the recall batch, but, based on the failure, it appears earlier vehicles are affected as well. I've contacted mazda usa (no response yet) and the dealer who said any fix has to come from corporate. The vehicle was stationary at the time of the failure.

The car lose the power steering randomly while driving or standing still. Thus the ability to steer becomes really hard and sometimes feels impossible. Sometimes after resetting the car it would go back to normal but this would only lasted a few day before it loose the power steering again.

I have a 2007 mazda 3 i touring that was purchased in june of 2007. The car was used for highway driving and all maintenance was done at the dealer per described in the owner's manual. On february 8th of 2009, i went out to drive my vehicle only to find that the power steering warning light was on, and i had no power steering. I turned the vehicle off, waiting a few minutes, and checked the fluid level of the reservoir. Seeing that the level was fine, and having waited, i tried turning the car on again, and again no power steering. This issue never went away, and i did some research online. My vehicle was only 2000 miles out of the 36k warranty, so i was very upset. I checked online and found that many other recent mazda 3 owners were experiencing the same issue. I approached the mazda dealer with the issue, saying it was barely out of warranty and that others had the same issue. I was firm on them making this right. The car was dropped off at mazda on 02/10/09 and service was completed on 02/12/09. The part they replaced may still be faulty!the dealer agreed that the part was bad, and the only way they agreed to fix the issue is if i paid for a broken transmission mount (also many complaints online about that) to the tune of $505.99. That transmission mount was still suppose to be covered under the 60k mileage warranty, but seeing as the steering pump was $1,200, it was my best option. So i paid for a warranty covered part to fix a part that is now proven recalled.now, as of 08/12/10 mazda has recalled 2007-2010 mazda 3's and 5's for a problematic and faulty steering pump, but is only covering 2007 mazda 3 cars manufactured from 04/02/07 - 11/30/08 (recall campaign 10v374000 & nhtsa action number pe10021).my vehicle was manufactured in january of 2007. I feel that the recall issued should be expanded to include all 2007 mazda 3's, as mine obviously suffered the same issue as in the recall description.

Power steering quits working while driving .power steering light comes on the dash towhen this happens. This make steering super hard to turning while driving and could cause an accident because its unexpected.

While driving, i slowed down and when turning, my wheel locked up and i had no control over my turn. My abs light flashed, along with the traction light. The radio turned off and then came back on. The wheel unlocked and luckily i was not turning where someone was stopped.

Power steering would randomly come and go, upon cranking the (stationary) car or backing out of the driveway. Problem seemed to resolve (went away for several weeks) after i added ps fluid with "stop leak", but then problem briefly reoccurred one more time. Problem went away for months, but is it gone for good? there was never any sign of a leak, and mechanic did not find a problem. Problem began at around 67,000 miles.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda mazda3 . The contact stated that when driving at various speeds, the steering wheel would veer to the right haphazardly. The contact owns a 2007 mazda mazda 3. The contact was driving approximately 65 mph when the steering warning light while the contact was attempting to change lanes. The contact stated that the failure was an intermittent occurrence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the power steering pump, line and power steering fluid were replaced. In addition, the mechanic discovered severe corrosion around the power steering unit. The manufacturer was contacted and stated there was a recall issued under nhtsa campaign id number: 10v374000 (steering:electric power assist system) but the contacts vin was not included. After the repairs were made, the steering warning light continued to illuminate sporadically. The mechanic was unable to diagnose why the steering light continued to illuminate and there were no further repairs. The contact stated that the failure progressively became worse until the power steering became inoperable. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000. The vin was not available.

I recently purchased a 2007 mazda3.the air conditioning vent above the pedals is close enough to where one's foot will get caught on it when trying to move one's foot between the brake and gas pedals.this creates a potentially hazardous situation where the driver may be unable to apply the brakes because his foot is caught on the air vent.

Engine mount bolt failed while driving on a city street causing the engine and transmission to drop onto axel. Vehicle could not be driven until front axel was replaced and the engine mount bolt was replaced.

I have a complaint that could be very dangerous to others.i know to check my blind spot, but even when you turn to look over your shoulder (either way), the back panel between the back glass and the door is in the way.i have at least 3 times now, almost switched lanes into another vehicle because it wasn't visible.i looked in the side and rearview mirrors, as well, but i never saw the other vehicle.a friend of mine, as well as other 3 owners, also has the same problem with their mazda 3.

On feb 13, 09 i had the engine mount on my mazda 3 hatchback replaced because it was leaking.today i was informed by the mazda technician that the same engine mount was leaking again and need to be replaced.his comment was that the engine was too heavy and speed vibration causes the mount to fail.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda 3. The contact stated that the axle was rubbing against a piece metal in the engine causing it to malfunction. The failure and current mileage was 98,000.

2007 mazda323 lost control and hit a barrier wall.the police report stated the vehicle had a flat left front tire and steering mechanism damage that caused the consumer to lose control of the vehicle

I have purchased multiple sets of new tires for this car because i am having the same issue that all the complaints say about the tires wearing on the inside walls.i have had a few professionals look to find what is causing this and none of them can find anything.i now experience shaking of my car while driving over 40 mph.my tire pressure light comes on and off whenever.just in the past year i have purchased 6 new tires.i am afraid i will die in an accident if driving on the freeway.please help!!my tire pressure light comes on, the car shakes, the inside of the front tires and back driver side wear down to the threads on the inside.

Clunking noise in trunk when going over railroad tracks/bumps, etc.; took to mazda dealer.passenger side rear stabilizer/swaybar bolt loose and pin bent.known issue for a lot of 2007 mazdas.new bushings and bolts put in/tightened.clunking noise gone.

I bought a mazda 3 2007 on april 2007. The car began to make a noise on july of that year. I reported this to the after-service dealer, where we buy the car, but they couldn't found what makes the noise.the had told me that they changed the damper (shock-absorber) at least 3 times, but each time, the noise continue there, it sounds like a 'clap' each time i pass through a brim, or just driving. They said it was the suspension, the dampers, but the noise is still there.the car stayed several days and several times at the after-service of the car dealer, and they wouldn't be able to repair it, so we decided to prove a new car-dealer after-service, and we took the car there several time too. This last time, tired of their inefficiency, lack of compromise and non service customer, we decided to write o mazda mexico, and they have the car on the last car-dealer where we took the car the last time, it's going to be the third time during march, that my car is there, they couldn't fix it, and today they said that they are still reviewing it, and they don't have a clue about that could be happening.we don't know what to do, so we are trying to express this issue in all the forums that we have available.i hope you can help on this, because i read that you send the failures to several countries, when you find something.

Fuel propulsion system cracked at coupling under the rear passenger seat spewing massive amounts of fuel into the cab soaking the rear seat pad fire risk present with electric plug there struts are unstable and noisy vvt makes noise when started, grinding in front hubs. Hard knocking noise occurs when attempting to turn the vehicle.dealership has made multiple failed repair attempts to fix the vehicle (a motor mount, rear sway bar bushings, front strut bar bushings, front sway bar, stabilizer plate, control rod, upper strut bearing and mount) as drivability and handling issues have become worse.the dealership recently determined that the vehicle has a bent lower a-arm which is of no fault to external influence.as the vehicle is now out of warranty the manufacturer is refusing to fix the vehicle.the defect in the lower a-arm is as a result of a failure in material.the front end geometry is now severely out phase by 30 degrees (per the dealership) which can cause undue stress to the lower ball joint causing premature breakage.the result of the lower a-arm separating from the spindle can cause an accident. The vehicle needs a new a-arm and possibly other related components.tw*

2007 mazda 3 excessive premature tire wear. At 30,000 miles i see that the front tires are worn to the point of steelband visible and sticking out. Inspection at 25,000 miles dealer said there was wear but not critical. The tread is separating and i am replacing tires immediately. I have learned that front suspension has excessive negative camber causing this.

I have had the dealer replace front end parts 2 times. First the fronthub bearings.then they had to replace the intermediate shaft also part of the front end. The car is 2007 with 37,000 miles. I have other cars with over 100,000 miles and never had to replace any of these parts.

Found tire wear on inside of both rear tires. Took to dealer to align rear end. Service dept stated that there is no way to align rear wheels. However i could buy a kit from the internet that when installed would allow the rear wheels to be aligned. Cost to me would be $500.00. Called mazda to complain and they say it is ok. However i believe that running your car on the inside tread of your tires is a safety hazard. Tires are designed to run on the flat bottom and not on the inside edge. Mazda said the rear end was designed that way for stability. I know of no other car made today that does not have the ability to align the rear end so that the tires will run flat on the road. Having talked to mazda i am sure they will not correct the manufacture defect unless the government gets involved. And i hope you do before there is an accident from a blown tire.

My tire pressure light was on, so i pulled into a convenience store that has a combination inflation-pressure check machine.i checked one tire & had no issue.i checked/filled the next tire & didn't notice an issue immediately.i went on to the 3rd tire, and heard a pop, then a hiss.all air was leaving the tire.i then noticed the second tire was doing the same thing.according to the tire store, it was the valve stem pressure sensors.the tire store keeps the parts on hand because they are "seeing a lot" of this with the mazda 3s, that it's a "design flaw" that has since been rectified on newer models.if i had only filled one tire & hadn't noticed the deflation, and then gotten on the highway, i could've been in a serious accident with my son in the car.this angers me: if it's so common of a problem, and it could cause accidents, why is there no recall??

After putting air in the tires, i drove approximately 2 miles down the road when the tire light came on.i drove approximately 1 more mile to my house. The tire went completely flat due to a broken valve stem.

2007 mazda323 lost control and hit a barrier wall.the police report stated the vehicle had a flat left front tire and steering mechanism damage that caused the consumer to lose control of the vehicle

Low tire pressure light came on.found valve stem cracked and leaking air from its side.has happened to two different valve stems.southern car never exposed to salt.valve stems look new.tire store charges over $200 to replace each one.

Takata recall. The motor to the sunroof came down and pulled wires lose to cause the motor in the sunroof to burn up. When it happened the mazda dealer said o well.

Accelerator pedal stuck after engaging it to merge onto freeway.cruise control was not on.brakes barely slowed acceleration.threw vehicle into neutral to stop acceleration.when vehicle put back in drive, pedal and accelerator functioned normally.when taken in to mechanic, found to be functioning normally.

I have a manual transmission and my car twice now has had the accelerator pedal go all the to the floor and gets stuck all the way down while i am driving on the freeway. Two other times it has, while shifting out of one gear and into another, immediately rev up to 8 rpms (max for my vehicle) again while on the freeway forcing me to pull onto the shoulder and wait for the car to quit revving. That has occurred while merging onto the freeway in between gears making me unable to get it back into a gear.

On 2/08/2007 my newly purchased mazda 3 was running for 45 minutes at 40 miles per hour and the engine raced. On 2/16/2007, the engine raced again and the car switched from first gear to 5th gear in 1 second while the engine raced. On 2/19/2007, the brakes failed to stop, narrowly avoiding an accident while the engine raced. The car was put in park and the engine raced again. Earlier that same day, the car changed from first gear to fifth gear and then to second gear while making a clicking sound. When it was checked out by the mazda dealership, they said there was nothing wrong with the car. This car could have caused a horrific accident and still could.

When the contact disengaged the clutch, the engine rpms fluctuated between 6,800 and 7,300. The vehicle was driven to the side of the road, the engine was turned off and restarted twice before resuming normally. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 76,170.updated 03/02/11 updated 03/08/11

The resume function on the cruise control sometimes exceeds the set speed and fails to upshift.an example of the scenario is the cruise set speed is 75 mph.i approach a car going 65 mph and press the cancel button which disengages the cruise control.the car pulls over and i press the resume button.the transmission will sometimes downshift to either 3rd or 4th gear and quickly accelerate to 78 mph and stay in the lower gear.i am not touching any pedals nor the gear shift which is still in the auto position.the transmission will stay in the lower gear at the higher speed indefinitely.if i press cancel and then resume it will immediately shift to 5th gear and return to the 75 mph set speed. The problem is intermittent and has happened about 10-12 times in the last year.i do use the cruise function daily on the interstate, but don't encounter the described situation very often.i have tried to reproduce the problem a few times without success.i have taken the car to the dealer but they were also unable to reproduce the problem or find any other problems with the cruise function. They also stated there was no tech bulletin describing this problem.an email to mazda was responded to by suggesting i take the car to the dealer. I am a very experienced driver.i know with absolute certainty that i am not touching any pedals and that the gear shift is in the auto position.this is not a case of driver error.there is a clear defect in the functioning of the cruise control or transmission operation.in every other way the cruise and transmission operation has been completely normal.

I have constantly replaced my driver window motor.the driver window switch/motor stops working for no reason.in addition the entire headunit stops working.it shuts on and off while in the middle of driving.sometimes to powers right back on and other times it can take days for it to turn back on.

After putting air in the tires, i drove approximately 2 miles down the road when the tire light came on.i drove approximately 1 more mile to my house. The tire went completely flat due to a broken valve stem.

The contact owns a 2007 mazda mazda3. The contact stated that both rear tires were continuously being wearing prematurely and could not be aligned. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who advised that the vehicle was performing as manufactured. The manufacturer was notified who offered no assistance. The tires were changed at least six times to no avail. The failure mileage was 89,000.

Low tire pressure light came on.found valve stem cracked and leaking air from its side.has happened to two different valve stems.southern car never exposed to salt.valve stems look new.tire store charges over $200 to replace each one.
