Takata recallreceived airbag recall in july, warning me not to use the passenger seat, as of december 13, 2016 my vehicle has not been repaired. In october, i received a second safety recall for a potentially dangerous front suspension defect, again, no parts available to repair my car. I feel that my vehicle should be made safe now or i should be given alternate transportation until it is.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2009 mazda cx-7. The contact stated that the vehicle lacked stability when being operated at high speeds. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the lower control arms and ball joints were defective and needed to be replaced. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 17v429000 (air bags) and 16v593000 (suspension). The contact was unable to get the remedy completed due to lack of communication by the dealer (dennis dillon mazda, 9501 w fairview ave, boise, id). The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The failure mileage was 157,142. Parts distribution disconnect.
In the last 2 weeks, when the vehicle is started, the airbag light by the speedometer flashes twice, stops, flashes twice, then stops. This continues for about 20-30 seconds after the car is started and is running/idling. Once the 20-30 seconds have passed, the airbag light then remains permanently lit. It remains lit while driving. The cycle starts again once the car is restarted.
On the 8th of august 2017 a flashing signal appeared and i checked my manual and it was an alert about airbag alert. I called hiley mazda in grand prairie texas and made appointment.they wanted to charge me $99.99 and i left because the evening new said their was a recall for air bags my year and model.

Takata recall:recall for my vehicle was announced by mazda in may 2016 and as of september 14, 2016 mazda still has not provided a resolution, other than not allow passengers to ride in the front seat, i guess so only the driver would be killed during an accident.i purchased this vehicle new in 2009 and it has been located in florida the entire time which is the high risk area.it would seem that mazda should have a solution available by now to replace these airbags or provide an alternative for replacing the vehicle before more people are injured.
"takata recall" indicator airbag light having issues?
Takada recallmy car is older (2009), i live in texas, and my airbag light is on so i'm worried!

My complaint;in 3/18/2010at 2:00pm while i was driving the radio display blanked out and the radio stopped working all together.traction control system (tcs) was blinkingand the electronic stability control stayed on.gauge needles were bouncing.i stopped the vehicle and turned it on and off three timesthen everything came back on.then later in the day3/18/2010 at 7:00 pm the radio display and the radio stopped working all together.this time i just kept pressing the on and off button a couple times this did not work but then the radio just came on by itself while i was driving. I took the car to the dealer on 3/19/2010 the results as the dealer notice says:unable to duplicate. Could not find any poor connections to have caused the problem.during test drive. Normal operation observed. Pulled codes, two were found for high voltage. No freeze data available. Called tech-line and no known issues for these symptoms or codes.suggest inspection of pcm/bcm/fuse block connections and alternator.inspect alternator, normal output, at 14v. All connections good. No corrosion found. No leaks found in the driver kick panel , or loose connections. Normal operation and condition at this time.
The contact owns a 2009 mazda cx-7. The contact stated that the front driver side window and both rear windows failed to operate as intended going up and down. The tire pressure monitor light illuminated and remained despite having the tires checked for proper tire pressure and following the instructions provided to reset the tire pressure light. Additionally, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The check engine warning light was reset by an independent mechanic. The contact stated that while driving at 55 mph the vehicle decelerated to 20 mph and stalled. The vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic and was informed that the mass airflow sensor and oxygen sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 98,800.
I was driving on a highway.i heard a high pitched squealing sound then smoke started blowing out of my car.i could not see, and the other drivers behind me lost visability too.in the middle of this blinding smoke, surrounded by huge trucks, i lost aceleration.my instrumentation panel did not have any warning lights on. I was driving blind. I pulled off the highway as quickly as possible, and had my car towed to a dealership.the dealership said my turbo blew out, (which i guess sucked all the oil out of the car) i need a vvt valve and the timing chain is stretched.on a car with 57,000 miles!in checking on line, i found this has been a problem with the cx-7 for 6 years and they are no longer making this model.i see that mazda deals with these problems by stating the owner did not maintain the car properly, when in actuality, there is a serious problem with the turbo system and how the oil cools it.there is also a problem with "sludge buildup".i believe mazda has been successfully avoiding a recall.but these issues are a real safety concern. I am very lucky that there was no accident as a result of this incident.these issues can be dangerous.wheneverything blew on my car, no one could see the road.
As i pulled out of my parking lot at work i lost power so i drove the car to the dealer.they called and told me the turbo was bad due to being clogged with sludge.and, that due to that sludge the entire engine would have to be replaced at a cost of $8,900.i've only owned the car 9 months, have receipts for multiple oil changes, and had an extended warranty - however, the extended warranty company (ameriplus) states that because the problem was caused by sludge, i'm not covered.i've researched and discovered that this is a huge problem with this vehicle, please help me!
My 2009 cx-7 has a major oil leak at the oil cooler. Upon learning this i turned to my mechanic and the internet only to find out this seems to be a very common issue. This defect is something that is on every mazda forum and should be made a recall and fixed. This is a very wellmaintained vehicle that should not have this type of issue at this mileage.
Starting hearing a noise initially--not sure where it was coming from but thought it was internal to the engine. Took it to the dealer for inspection and they verified that the front of the engine would have to be removed to replace the defective part. I can not remember the part name but it was clear from the dealer repthat my car was one of many they have replaced. I spent $1244.00 in repairs on my vehicle that the mazda dealership acknowledged was a factory defect on my car and many others.just not right
The mazda has multiple issues with turbo booster functioning and malfunctioning causing air pollution issues with billowing white smoke fr tailpipe, mazda does not warranty this by ongoing issues with some repairs having to be done as early as 60000 miles,. My car is less than 100000 miles with extensive repair required to resolve issue, repairs as expensive as 3000 dollars.the smoke is so thick is impairs the vision of cars that maybe behind vehicles with this problem.this issue needs to be reviewed and resolved, car owners should be made aware when purchasing these mazda of this heavily unreliable important part of the vehicle to make the decision beforehand if they will be responsible for these expensive repairs should they occur.
The exhaust from this car is horrible. Causing breathing issues
Around the end of april 2012 i noticed that my mazda started making a loud noise - comparable to a semi or diesel truck. The noise was constant, regardless of speed, and maintained at the same level as long as the car was on. I took the car to mazda on may 12th to determine the cause of the noise. Within a few hours of dropping the car off, the dealership called me back and advised that it was the vvt system that was causing the noise and it needed to be fixed. All they needed was my oil change receipts to cover this repair under warranty. I advised them that i don't keep all of my oil change receipts; that i go to various businesses each time i get an oil change based on who has a special, coupons, nearest location etc. I was then told without the receipts i would have to pay $4000 for the repair.after doing a lot of research on the internet, i've discovered that this problem is caused by faulty parts used by mazda - and not by potential neglect from the consumer. There's case after case of people reporting similar problems in their cx7, mazda requiring oil change history, and service being denied regardless if appropriate history is provided. Upon further inspection the technicians find "oil sludge" in the vehicle and quickly determine that it's the fault of the consumer.i've now been asked to bring my car back into the dealership for futher diagnosis. I told both the representative at the warranty desk as well as my service manager at the dealership that based on my research online, i already can predict what will be found and what will be said to me.i noted that mazda recently issued a letter of january of this year extending the warranty of this very part because of the on going issues. So this isn't something they're unaware of - it's just something they are (wrongly) refusing to cover on their warranty. Something needs to be done about mazda's neglect!

Turbo leak causing lack of power. This problem said to cost 2300 dollars and still making payments. The mechanic said it can cause a fire. It is all over internet that this is a problem for most owners. Why. I recall?
While driving down the interstate, vehicle lost much of it's acceleration, and began making a loud whining noise. Pulled off the highway and investigated the noise. It was a loud whining that only occurred in neutral and park over 2500 rpm and with any acceleration while in gear. Also noted yellow foamy oil on the dipstick which was 4.5 quarts low being very close to time to get a change. Towed to the shop to discover that the vehicle is burning oil and the turbo had gone bad. Mechanic suspects that the turbo going bad is what was most likely burning oil and retaining water in the crankcase.
Apparently the design of the turbo and the engine creates hot spots in the engine, especially in the turbo.these hot spot create sludge build up which eventually effects the performance and reliability of the engine.research on the internet shows this to be a problem for a considerable amount of owners of this vehicle.mazda has refused to correct these problems under their warranty.also lacking by mazda, since it is apparently a major cause of large build-ups of sludge, is the necessity to idle the engine for three minutes prior to turning off.this was never explained to us when the vehicle was purchased.
I took my 2009 mazda cx-7 (108,000 miles) in to the dealership for an oil change and to see why the check engine light had come on. I was informed the turbo needed to be replaced and was advised that the car was unsafe to drive and that i needed to get a new car immediately. The dealership was hesitant to let me leave in the car as it could stop working at any time and because i do a significant amount of highway driving this is particularly alarming. No remedy was offered and i was told it wasn't worth repairing. This is a known issue with the cx-7 and a danger to the driver and other drivers around when the cars stop working due to the issues with the turbo. A recall needs to be issued if so many people are having this issue with serious safety concerns.
I bought this used around june 2010 with approx. 16000 mile. I had oil change at the local garage station. They told me that the oil was very thick. So i had it changed again within three month. It was running fine without any indication and all of a sudden i lost the power and engine quit. I had it towed to garage and they told me that it is better we have it checked by dealer as this has warranty. Mazda dealer looked in to this and told me that the turbo engine is ruined due to gunk in the oil. They asked me for oil change record. I only had since i had it . I could not get any previous record. Mazda and dealer told me that the warranty is void due to negligence to maintain. They will not cover under warranty. I can not believe this. This car has only 35k mile and no indication and mazda do not provide any kind of warranty assistance. Anyone else had the same issue with mazda cx-7? i think this is something to do with turbo.
We leased a 2009 mazda cx-7 (garaged and highway driven only). There was never a problem. The battery died. We changed the battery. Car started and then died. After one month, it again had been flat bedded by mazda. They did a check and told me they could not find anything wrong with the electrical system, but they found sludge in the engine compartment. They had a recall on a valve which i never received in the mail. The car only had 17,000 miles on it. After 3 years, mazda came back and said they would cover under lease or extended warranty, which i had. They said it would cost $9,500 to replace an engine with a 17,000-mile leased car and they would not stand by their product. I want to start a lawsuit on the car as i have had many leases without these problems ever and leased over 10 cars in the last couple of years with no problem.
I own a 2009 mazda cx 7 turbo. The vehicle has had it's proper oil changes by a service garage not a "quick lube" place. The oil was castrol gtx 5w-30w, with from oil filter.the longest interval between oil changes was 6000 miles and the shortest 4000 miles. The vehicle now has 45,664 miles on it and the wife complained about a high pitched noiseand lack of performance . Brought to the mazda dealer, the dealer said the turbo went and that mazda will not cover it under warranty (60,000 warranty on drive train and turbo) because of engine sludge !! are you kidding me...engine sludge, the proper oil viscosity was used atproper interval (mazda says 7500 between oil changes). No signs of over heating, high engine temps, the vehicle is driven to work and back (4 miles away) 2x's per day 6 days a week. Sounds to me like engine oil is not getting up to temp. And this is causing the sludge, mazda does not state this anywhere any time in their manual. I found this out only after researching on line....anyone else having issues with their mazda ???? i've owned turbos before and never had issues. My vehicle gets it's oil change by the same station and this nissan has 190,000 miles on it with no problems and no sludge !!!
In january 2012, i received a letter from mazda inc that the company was extending the warranty on the timing chain to 70,000 miles. In the letter, it stated that a certified mazda dealer could inspect the vehicle to determine if the timing chain has a problem. On feb 24 the vehicle was inspected by a certified mazdagarage and when my husband went to pick it up, they said"it has a slight noise but nothing big.then they asked for all the receipts from the oil changes. Now, we bought the car in march 2009, therefore we would have no receipts for the past year and a half the car was with another owner. We only had 3 receipts b/c my husband routinely change the oil . Now, the other thing was in early february, the vehiclebegan to not start all the time. It was taken to our local garage and the repair man said it could be a number of things, but since it has the timing chain issue...that could be one of the problems that causes a car not to start. It left me stranded on 3 occasions. So,from february until march 30, my husband argued with mazda and the dealership that first inspected the vehicle. The deal was mazda was not going to pay for a new timing chain b/c we couldn't produce oil change receipts and if there was sludge in the motor "this could be why". So on march 30, the mazda dealership called and said for $180 the gaskets could be pulled to see if there was sludge. Which in all the reports that i read on this website, majority of engines had sludge b/c the motor burns the oil too hot. The other repairs that vehicle had:2010 -air conditioner compressor (it was recalled) ($900), a new starter ($300), dec 2011- rt rear wheel bearing ($600), feb '12- new battery ($100) which didn't need to be replaced b/c it was part of the timing chain problem.so on april 4, we traded the vehicle and bought a 2009 honda cr-v. My husband and i will never by a mazda again.
While i was driving in town hwy the a/c system quick working , smoking coming from the hood and i totally lost the power steering on the car.. Finally after pulling over on a safe place on the side of the hwy i realized the a/c compressor locked and the clutch fell off and the serpentine belt for the steering was broken as well.. What a mess and dangerous situation.. Now de dealer says my car a/c compressor repair isn't covered under the warranty with only 39000 miles on it.. This is ridiculous and dangerous for all the mazda cx-7 owners .. Please take an action and recall the a/c system on those car before someone get hurt or die buy..
The air compressor went on my vehicle and needed to have it totally replaced. The air conditioning nver really worked all that well anyways with the car never getting very cool.
My wife and i purchased a 2007 mazda cx-7 from lithia mazda in fresno, ca.it was a brand new vehicle and within the first 26,000 miles, the air conditioning compressor went out.this was covered under the factory warranty and replaced.now my the same vehicle has 65,000 miles on it and the compressor went out again.i have been told by the dealership that they will replace the unit (for $1,800) and warranty it for 3 years or 50,000 miles.i fail to comprehend why this is not already covered under the same warranty.
I bought the 2009 mazda cx7 in march of 2009. About mid august to early september 2009 the car would begin to jolt backwards (when put in reverse) or forward (in drive) when i would be ready to leave. Soon after it would stall to go up hills or to pick up speed when getting on the interstate. Later i would fuel the car toa"full tank" and the gasoline would spill all back out. I called and filed a complaint @ 2 different times at which the dealership could not find anything. Later calling me back stating that the o2 was messed up and fixed about (early february 2010 is when it was in the shop). I was without a vehicle for 1 1/2 weeks. After being looked at & fixed, i later pumped gasoline and it repeated the same incident, spilling about a gallon of fuel! i called again and said it was bad fuel? now, in april 2010 with the weather being warm & when i turn on the vehicle the exhaust pipes begin to smoke and you can find gunk inside the exhaust pipes. I will be soon be calling gorman mccraken in longview, tx for them to look at the vehicle again as it is repeating every problem once again.

The contact owns a 2009 mazda cx 7.the contact stated that the air conditioner does not blow cold air instead the air was room temperature.mazda was contacted and stated that the air conditioner was working the way it was designed. The vehicle was not repaired.the failure mileage was approximately 15,000.
The contact owns a 2009 mazda cx7. The contact stated that the air conditioner failed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the air conditioner compressor clutch snapped off and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The failure and current mileage was 40,000.
Mazda cx7 2009 rear lens, light bulb melts internal red plastic, issueall 2007 to 2009 cx7. A safety issue rear stop light and driving light will not reflect the red color.
Both rear tail lights looked cloudy and the red color of the rear lights appeared white. I removed the light bulbs, thinking that maybe they had burned out. I noticed the light bulbs had melted through the internal red plastic lens of the tail light assembly and left a hole about the size of a quarter that allows the white light from the bulb to shine through. The melted plastic was all over the bulbs and there was a burnt plastic odor. The 7743 bulbs were both original to the car from mazda when i purchased the car new in july 2009. I notified mazda corporate and they had me take it to my dealer. They inspected the lights and said mazda was willing to offer a $500 goodwill to replace the tail light assembly. That will not cover the cost of $1226.77 without labor to have the dealer replace the tail lights. They gave me a case ref# 1-174187018. There should be a recall for this issue and the consumer should not have to pay to get the lights replaced. This is a problem when the light bulbs burn through the plastic tail light assembly. This is a design flaw.
Normal low light beam is cut off by the design of the surrounding hood area of the vehicle. This design factor cuts off the projected beam and limits the distance of clear visibility. The problem was described during dealer service and was told, that is how it was designed. No adjustment of light is possible in order to improve the night low beam visibility. The high beam is not affected & seems unobstructed.for daylight running lights it would be acceptable but for limiting night light projection by design is questionable. Is there a requirement for low beam minimum projection? if so, the issue needs studied & corrected.this presents a safety concern since distance visible on low beam is decreased& obstructed. Any explanation or help in this matter is appreciated.
Excessive condensation in front headlights. At 3:00pm afternoon condensation is still present in headlight (85 degrees f). This humidity has to go somewhere and there are electric components in the back and near the headlights with warnings. Mazda refuses to correct or change headlights (mazda bulletin 09-016/09).
I purchased a mazda cx-7 2009 vehicle used in august 2014.within 2 months of purchase noticed a fuel odor coming through the air vents.problem did not go away. Told buy dealer is would cost $900 to fix and that the vehicle was leaking gas.they told me it was a safety issue and the vehicle should not be driven.i feel i should not pay for this defect.

This mazda cx-7 has been driven by my disabled finance and used for in city driving it's whole life and one day a high pitched whining sound developed and the car was delivered to capitol mazda for an inspection. Upon getting the results we were told that the car had not had regular servicing at the dealer. I agreed as i am an engineer and do most servicing of my families vehicles. They said i had not done the oil changes, but i had done them every 5,000 miles. Every vehicle i have ever owned had more than 200,000 mile on them when i sold them. The current toyota truck i am driving has 205,000 and i have done all of the servicing myself. Mazda wants over $8,000.00 to repair it back to driving condition. This is an outrage. And it doesn't seem to fix the problem. Several forums about this particular vehicle issue show some owners have had more than one turbo installed and then the issue came back.online i have found literally hundreds of stories just like mine. The turbo in the cx family of vehicles is an issue. Since mazda doesn't want to take responsibility, the government may have to look into a fine and also a recall of all of these potentially dangerous vehicles on our roads.

I just bought a 2009 mazda cx-7 three weeks ago, while driving my car on the third week, my car stopped shifting gears. As i was driving down the highway it just stopped. I had the care towed into the same dealership i bought the car at, and come to find out the transmission went out on the car. I took the car into the dealership on friday, december 12, 2008. I was told that i would receive a call from someone on monday, i waited and finally went to the dealership my self and they had no answers about the car. I then called mazda's customer service line and made a complaint about what was going on and they told me that they would call me back with what was happening, at the time they called me back is when i found out about the transmission. I was informed that they needed more time to get more info and that they woul;d call me back. I waited until weds.. And i received a call and was told they still have no information for me and that the eta of fixing my car would be anywhere between three to four weeks. So tell me can i do, does my car fit under the lemon law, should they give me a new car? what do i do and where do i go from here?
Placed 12 cases of bottle water in rear compartment behind rear seats caused the rear seat latches to break.each case is 35 pints (17l).no accident or injury occurred, but the potential for harm is likely.we had been driving around with the kids in the back seat for a few days before we noticed that the seats weren't locked and not working.if weight alone was enough to malfunction the locks, what could happen if there are items in the back during a collision?
I purchased a new vehicle and noticed squeaking in the rear wheels when applying brakes. I took this into the dealer and was first told that this was normal. Then the dealer sanded down the rotors and brake pads and said it was okay. The squeaking persisted and i went back to the dealer. They replaced rotors and said it was fixed. The squeaking still continued. I contacted manufacturer and they didnt respond for weeks. I contacted dealer and they said they couldnt do anything further. I went back to dealer and they said they could sand down brake pads again. They took for another test drive and ignored my calls for weeks. Finally i took to another dealer per manufacturer instruction and vehicle has been in shop for a week.
