I was driving on the freeway about 65 miles per hour and the the car started to run rough and the dash lights went out.it felt like it wanted to stall so i kept my foot on the gas and brake and exited the freeway and drove the side streets home.the problem did not happen again so far.

Significant safety issue--the entire middle screen goes blank, all access to apple car play stops, including navigation, phone, text, etc.the phone goes blank.must pull over and the head unit will restart.twice at dealer for same issues. They have replaced parts, but still same problem.

It was 17 degrees out and the front windows would not roll down. They were not locked. When it got it into my warm garage and i let it warm up (not running) for 15 minutes, they rolled down. I have had the car a month and this is the coldest its been since i've had it. I was at a drive thru in park when they would not roll down.

Significant safety issue--the entire dash and middle screen goes black, all music stops playing, the apple care play doesn't work, attached iphone sometimes goes blank. Must pull over and restart the vehicle. Previously at mazda of orem (utah) for recall and this same issue. Returned today--9/1 8/19, dealer no idea why screens shutting off. Happens without notice of provocation. Significant safety issue,

All lights and gauges turn off and disable, including: apple car play, navigation, audio, air conditioning, bluetooth, sensors, and all gages in the dash--

The contact owns a 2019 mazda cx-5. The contact stated while driving at approximately 20mph the vehicle would brake suddenly. Which resulted in the contact sustaining whiplash and sought medical treatment. The contact stated brake warning message was displayed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000. The vin was not available.

The center infotainment system operates by itself when driving at a low speed. The screen will automatically enter menus, place calls, and select items without any sort of input from the driver or passenger (ghost touch). The control knob, which is used to navigate the center screen, will not be functional whenever this happens. This ghost touch issue happens periodically, sometimes it goes away and sometimes the problem returns.whenever the screen places calls or enters menus by itself, the driver is being distracted from the road and will have to focus on canceling whatever action the infotainment automatically decided to do. For example, i use apple carplay for navigation but sometimes the screen will operate other functions by itself - i will have to manually click back to the navigation screen every time.a similar issue was found in the 2014-2016 my of the mazda3, which uses the exact same infotainment and controller setup as in the cx-5 products. I have provided a link to the relevant service bulletin here: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/mc-10164268-0001.pdfthe system has not been examined by the manufacturer nor have there been any types of warning messages or lamps within the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2019 mazda cx5. The contact stated that the engine failed. The driver noticed that engine oil was leaking on the ground. The vehicle was towed to an unknown dealer whom advised that the engine needed to be replaced. The engine was replaced. However, the repair did not correct the failure. The vehicle cabin filled up with smoke when the contact drove the vehicle home and the contact found that the engine was leaking oil. The vehicle was towed back to an unknown dealer for inspection. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 7,800.

The contact owns a 2019 mazda cx5. The contact stated that he noticed an oil leak on top of the engine. The vehicle was taken to compass mazda (200 dolson ave lot a 204, middletown, ny 10940: (844) 258-3818) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the mastercycler needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.

Brought it in nov 2020 regarding smells and engine issues as well as alignment. Neither were taken care of. Then march 2021,engine was leaking fluid and smoking, and the engine needed to be replaced at 20k. Did not provide a rental until later that week. After a month, i got my car back. After leaving the engine continued to smoke, brought it back. Gave no rental. Dealer said it was left over fluid from when they replaced it. Car is still having issues with the engine and smells. Under shield fell off and needed to be replaced twice.tire pressure was going off and brought it in twice for them to say they cant find where the slow leak is or why so they wouldn't fix it even though i have the mazda insurance for tires.

The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, the vehicle inadvertently decelerated to 20 mph.additionally, while accelerating the vehicle slowed down without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where no codes had been detected. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer where they were unable to duplicate the failure.the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. When the system think there might be a collision and initiates a hard braking even when there might be enough space in front of you. Multiple times, the car behind me had to do a hard break as well not to hit me from behind. This also happens when switching lanes. As you are in the middle of switching, if sometimes thinks you are getting to close to the car in the original lane and it starts a hard break. Since iā€™m in between lanes, it causes the car on the other lane to do a hard break also, almost causing a chain accident. A google search revealed multiple people complaining of that. The system is too aggressive even at itā€™s lowest setting. Mazda informed me i can only turn it off one drive cycle at a time. This system has almost caused more accidents than it protected me from them.

The fuel low level light is not triggered until 12 miles or less of fuel remaining.the service bulletin provided by the dealership, med center mazda in pelham alabama, shows that when the fuel gauge sender voltage from the rbcm and the fuel injection amount from the pcm both agree that 2,6 gallons remain the instrument cluster powers a transistor and turns the light on. In a discussion with the service advisor, we were trying to figure out if there are 2.6 gallons remaining then why the miles to empty does not register 30-50 based on the epa ratings for the vehicle.we decided to disconnect the battery to clear any residual information in the computer and reset the average fuel economy system.while driving the mazda cx-5 less than 24 hours after getting it back from the dealer service department, the fuel low level light did not illuminate until 6 (six) miles to empty.i exited the interstate and drove the vehicle about 5 miles to my home.the miles to empty read 0 (zero) when pulling in my driveway.i parked the mazda and changed vehicles to complete my tasks for the day. Upon starting the mazda the next morning, the miles to empty still showed 0 (zero) while also showing an average fuel economy at 24+ mpg.i then drove to the gas station where 13.573 gallons were required to fill the tank.that leaves approximately 1/10th of a gallon until the car ran out of fuel, although i had only traveled 6-7 miles after the light came on. Bottom line: there was definitely less than 2.6 gallons in the tank when the fuel low light illuminated which could have caused the vehicle to quit in the middle of the interstate and which could also be damaging the fuel system.the computers, programming, and/or sensors are malfunctioning.the malfunctioning fuel system on the 2019 mazda cx-5 could potentially lead to an accident.

On monday, november 25, 2019, as i was approaching my home, i activated my garage door opener and the garage door opened as i pulled into my driveway.i stopped the car, a 2019 mazda cx-5, in the driveway, placed it in park, got out of my vehicle and entered the garage.while in the garage for approximately 2-3 minutes, i turned around to see my 2019 mazda cx-5 accelerating toward me.the car rolled until it hit the washing machine and dryer.i managed to avoid getting pinned but not before the car ran over my foot.i managed to squeeze past and enter the vehicle placing my foot on the brake and putting the car back in park.

In july 2019 (approximately 2 months after delivery) my 2019 mazda cx-5 began to drive roughly at slow speeds- specifically speeds 15 mph or below. The vehicle would not coast (even downhill) and would seem to slip out of gear (this vehicle has an automatic transmission). More specifically, the vehicle would buck and lurch on it's own without engaging the accelerator or brake. This was happening going uphill, downhill and on flat grade.i brought the vehicle to the dealer and at their request took an employee for a drive so they could feel it. The employee did feel it, told the service manager, who then told me that, "they are supposed to drive like that." he said he drove around another vehicle on the lot that is the same model and year, and that it performed the same. Please note that this is not the same person who was in the car to experience how my car was driving. I personally know two other people who have the same exact year and model cx-5. I shared my experience with both owners- they both told me that their cars do not perform in that way. Additionally, i drove one of those vehicle and that one did not perform in the same way that mine does. I am concerned that this issue is being brushed off. There is no way that mazda would purposely design a car so that it jerks, lurches, and bucks at slow speeds. I have read reviews on online message boards where others do complain of similar experiences, which is even more concerning. This poses a safety issue for the driver, passengers, and others on the road who may be driving nearby. I have an appointment and will be taking the car back this coming monday to try and further address this issue, but felt it necessary to file here in the case that further action needs to be taken at a larger scale since it appears as if others, though not all, 2019 mazda cx-5 owners are experiencing the same.

Rear passenger seat rest behind driver seat is rattling and does not lock tight. This happens when passenger is seated.

Traffic was heavy on the parkway that day so there was a lot of stopping and going.applying the brakes, the car started to slow down but suddenly there was a jerk and the car accelerate while the brakes were still being applied.there was a frontal collision which indicates that the smart brakes system was also not working.the warning 'brake system malfunction' appeared on my dashboard after the accident.my insurance company sent a written request for the edr test and have agreed to pay the fee with the expectation of being provided with a quote of the cost and the end results.mazda has not approved the request and it has been over 3 weeks.asked to speak to a supervisor and did not get a response.

Oftentimes when driving at speeds of approximately 80mph or more, a loud whining/whistling noise appears. It appears to be coming from the area of driver side front door, passenger side front door, both front doors simultaneously.the issue has an earlier onset in the presence of crosswind, or headwind. I was able to record several videos where the noise can be heard very clearly. Some of these videos have been posted online:https://vimeo.com/547826873 https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/580602909and the links have been shared both with my local mazda dealership (oak tree mazda by dgdg in san jose, ca: 4250 stevens creek blvd, san jose, ca 95129) as well as with mazda of north america. However, my complaints have been ignored as the dealership keeps stating that they are "unable to duplicate problem". There are several threads on two mazda owners forums that describe this very issue with mazda cx-5 in usa, canada, as well as in europe. This video from an owner in germany shows the very same issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zykyocisitc&t=204s https://www.mazdas247.com/forum/index.php?threads/2019-cx-5-signature-whistling-noise-on-highway-or-high-speeds.123868506/page-2#post-6727077 https://www.mazdaworld.org/threads/cx-5-2018-version-high-pitched-squeal-whistle-like-noise.337073/#post-754625according to one of the forum members, a technical service bulletin (tsb) r084/20 to address this issue has been issued by mazda in europe and russian. The root cause has to do with door trim seals. Under the "casue", this tsb reads,"when driving under following conditions, a negative pressure generated on the doors pulls them outside. The counterforce exerted by the weatherstrips mounted on the doors is lower than the sucking force, resulting in weatherstrip vibration. -the vehicle is exposed to a side wind while driving at a speed higher than 160km/h -the vehicle is exposed to a strong side wind while driving at a speed higher than 120km/h."

The driver's side mirror would vibrate excessively at high speed. The car was taken to two different dealership but they couldn't figure out how to fix that.2019 cx5 exhibits an excessive vibration from the driver-side power door mirror glass when the vehicle is driven at high speeds.this concern may be due to a lack of rigidity of the mirror base so the mirror vibrates when it receives vehicle vibration or wind pressure.with the weather warming up, stuff inside the door panels is expanding which magnifies the vibration issue. Vibration noise is getting worse coming from both door panels when the car hits a crack, bump, pothole, or when the radio is on. Mazda corporation lacks integrity and refuse to admit that they have a serious issue due to their poor quality control.this is isn't a new problem. 2013-2015 cx-5 had same issue with driver's side mirror vibration but they issued a recall and the problem was from the door panel which lacked support and was poorly made in the 1st place.

I heard a very loud bang, sounding like a gunshot that went off, when the sunroof above my head violently shattered while i driving to work. I almost lost control of the car and got covered with pieces of glass. The glass scratched me on the face, close to my eye. I am in shock and i am still finding small pieces of glass all over my body even after taking a shower.

Extreme paint chipping (down to the primer/metal) on the hood primarily. Color is soul red. The paint appears to be brittle and not properly bonded to the primer/metal. Chipping started occurring the first month after purchase and has continued to gain more chips. The car is driven mostly for city commuting. This car has the most fragile paint i have ever experienced. I have purchased a new nissan, honda and subaru in the past and none have had this problem. I have seen many people complaining about this issue with mazda online, it needs to be investigated for a possible class action law suit.

Brought it in nov 2020 regarding smells and engine issues as well as alignment. Neither were taken care of. Then march 2021,engine was leaking fluid and smoking, and the engine needed to be replaced at 20k. Did not provide a rental until later that week. After a month, i got my car back. Under shield fell off and needed to be replaced twice.tire pressure was going off and brought it in twice for them to say they cant find where the slow leak is or why so they wouldn't fix it even though i have the mazda insurance for tires.

I have owned my car for only two months and the paint is already chipping. I have never owned a car where this happened after owning it for such a short time.i use this car for commuting to work on the highway.

Vehicle display on dashboard, steering wheel, shift console, audio controls, seats adjustments are not illuminated.the letters and numbers are not lighted.unable to know which buttons to push because printing is so small and many controls are grouped too close together.mazda cx5 owner's manual is for all mazda models.there is no indication as to what feature is included on my car.this car lacks lighted display and contains small letters/numerals whileparked, moving or driving in day or night; mazda dealers in two different towns report unable to improve situation"that's how it is".

While driving on the highway with very light snow falling and less than an inch of wet on the road, the "front radar blocked" message appeared! upon later research into the mazda owner's manual it indicates the following systems were not functioning: mazda radar cruise control (mrcc)mazda radar cruise control with stop & go function (mrcc with stop & go function)distance recognition support system (drss)smart brake support (sbs)apparently the location of the front radar is behind the emblem in the center of the grill. Mazda recommends that the owner clean off the emblem of any dirt or snow to correct this problem. Driving on the highway it is not practical to pull over and clean off the emblem when it will happen again in these conditions. This is a serious design flaw that can lead to accidents. The front radar should be relocated in a location not subject to road splatter. It could be located with the other sensors behind the mirror in the middle top of the windshield.

The vehicle was parked outside, behind my house off of an alley in a private parking space where it had been unmoved for three days.it had snowed over the past two days. The temperature was in the 20's. The car is two months old (1171 miles). I raised the rear hatch to retrieve a snow brush. Rear hatch closed. I started to walk towards the passenger door when i heard a loud cracking sound.then the rear window self-destructed.it just fell to pieces.i do not want to dwell on the serious problemsthis might have caused if the self-destructing window had occurred 10 minutes later when i was going to be driving on a highway.

Unintended acceleration - i was pulling in to my garage, half way into the garage, the car accelerated, without foot on the accelerator, and ran into motorcycle and garage back wall.there are tire traction marks where it began to accelerate unattended, and tire tread from multiple rotations of the tire where the vehicle forward motion was stopped by the wall.another driver of the car stated that the night before, when foot was taken off the accelerator the car continued to accelerate.

Mrcc (mazda radar cruise control) will unexpectedly decrease vehicle speed when in a turn even if not following another vehicle.speed decrease happens regardless of vehicle speed.amount of decrease is severe depending on "sharpness" of the turn, but will happen even on gentle sweeping turns on an interstate highway.behavior is reproducible during all variety of driving conditions.

Car accelerates by it self from standing stop.pulling out of parking stall shifting to drive car accelerates till i press brake twice. Then after slowly driving over speed bump car accelerated up to 25 to 30 mph till i pressed brake twice . Car new has 1800 miles

Windscreen stress crack 12 - 15 inch upper end. No visible external damage cause, no evidence of debris damage. Appears as material defect, many similar repeating complaints on the net. Mazda refuses to replace under warranty, refuses to inspect.

I had a flat tire on the front left corner of the vehicle while driving on a high speed highway. In my effort (and that of a wisconsin state trooper) to install the temporary spare tire i (we) discovered it would not fit on the car. It seemed to be the wrong type for my vehicle.i had it towed to a nearby dealership and they too could not understand why the spare would not fit. The mechanics best guess is that the brake caliper is to big for the spare preventing it from being installed.so they moved the left rear wheel to the front and installed the spare on the rear corner. Now let's be clear, i know and the dealership knows that putting the spare on the rear axle is the safest way to travel until a replacement tire is obtained.but, when you are stuck on a patch of asphalt between an exit ramp and the main thoroughfare with cars flying by you on both sides, as i was, you just want to get the hell out of there and not take any more time than necessary like rotating tires on one side of the car.i contacted mazda about what happened and their answer was only put the spare on the rear axle citing an excerpt from the owner's manual. That statement in the manual only tells you it could be unsafe to put the spare on the front but nothing tells you it won't even fit. Because of this little "design flaw" i was forced into a prolonged dangerous situation. Quite simply i should be provided a spare that will fit every axle so i can get out of harms way as soon as possible.
