I purchased this vin less than 24 hours ago, i was told it was certified by the dealership. In looking up the vin on www.nhtsa.gov this am, it says the recall #3719f was not fixed; the dealership just sent me a screen shot from mazda north america operations warranty vehicle inquiry report, and it shows the repair done. Who do i believe? the vehicle is at my home on the drive way, stationary. I'm asking the dealership to pick the car up, and refund my $100 dollars. They want $400.00 more when i get paid 2/25.

On january 10, 2019, i slowed down in my local grocery store parking lot, going about 10 miles and hour, and was coasting into a parking space at about 5 mph. It was about 1:15 pm on a sunny, clear day. I was applying the brake to stop the car as i pulled into the spot yet i was going slow and coasting straight into the spot. Suddenly, the car sped up, the brakes had no response, and the car accelerated hitting 3 parked cars near the parking space. I did not have my foot on the accelerator, i had my foot on the brake. . . But more than anything, i had no control, it was unintended acceleration. Then the car stopped after i hit three vehicles and fortunately no humans. I was shaken, but no bags deployed. I have approximately 6950 miles on this car. I have been the only owner. I am afraid to drive this car because i am concerned it will do this again and i will be in traffic or near people and i could hurt or kill myself or someone else. There was no warning of any problem. I don't want to update my documents on the internet but will submit once i have an nhtsa employee reach out to me. My records include a filed police report, a reportwith mazda corporate (as of today) and pictures of the vehicles which are available upon request.

Intermittent airbag or seatbelt fault warning.every couple days over past 7days while driving at highway speed light comes on.display says fault in passenger airbag or seatbelt. Once car is shut off warning stops and is erased.no passengers are in the seat at the time.even if buckle seatbelt in empty seat warning can appear.will try and have dealer look at it but like i said warning disappears for a few days once car is shut off

I was driving on the highway and it was raining. I lost control of the vehicle, the steering wheel was spinning uncontrollably. I was advised i most likely hydroplaned. The vehicle finally slowed down and backed into a guardrail. Only the rim of the driver side back tire was damaged. The impact felt like the impact felt when hitting a curb too hard. This did not happen on the side of the road with a shoulder, so after the tire hit the guardrail, i moved to the car to the other side of the road to be on the shoulder. Once i arrived at the other side of the road, the airbags deployed and the brake assist light came on and the police were automatically called. The car was towed and the collision shop cannot explain why the airbags deployed. I'm terrified that the airbags can deploy at any time for any reason. I am also terrified that they will not deploy when they are supposed to since they deployed at least 10-15 seconds after the impact with the guardrail occurred.

Unintended acceleration. I entered office parking building as usual. Parking spot was on the right. Slowly approachingi started to turn right with foot on brakes. Suddenly car accelerated by itself and hit a concrete wall before i even realized what's happened. Steering wheel airbag deployed, i got secured by the safety belt. Front of my car is damaged. I'm terrified of driving the car due to this unintended acceleration issue.

I find i have to put my foot down on the gas pedal to the floor to make it literally go at times. Ive heard this cloaking noise several times like its getting ready to conk out. The brakes seems to me don't stop as they should at times i have to go in hard on the brake pedal. The air conditioner does not blow cold an see where previous owner had same issue 2 yrs straight from looking the the service invoices that was left in the truck. The sensor detection does not always work to let me know car/person is around.coleman taylor transmission informed me that this thing does have a issue, the rpm are not as they should be.when i took it back to kia gossett about the brakes the used mgr drove it made it seemsthere were no issues as well as norcross mazda. Previous owner invoice show brakes were a concern as well. Had i known there was a prior recall on the pcm i would never bought this junk!

Mazda usa - thereā€™s been over 5 failures of my ac since before the car even hit a 5,000 mile mark. Mazda north america has a d- rating w/the better business bureau & it shows! my complaints have gone one deaf ears and thereā€™s a huge lack of accountability. Https://youtu.be/83lv-29xz8s

Approximately 9:15am 5/16/21 i was driving on the road when my engine stalled and went out. Was stuck in the middle of the road for a couple of minutes while i tried to restart the car. My vehicle was recalled for this very purpose but 13 days prior i went into the dealership to fix the issue and get a software update. After said update i experienced the recall issue on my vehicle.

On two separate occasions in the last month, during key on/startup/initialization, i will get an adaptive cruise control/aeb/lane keeping system failure.this is due to a fault in the camera module.adaptive cruise control still works above 20 mph indicating that the failure is in the camera module.failure is latched for the key cycle and but will recover after a long key cycle.1st time the failure set, it was very warm out so i believed this was due to an overheat.the second time the failure set the temperature was in a normal range so my hypothesis is wrong.no unusual situation is occurring at startup except the failure.have not taken to the dealer yet.

Car burst into flames while driving on highway, unknown cause, suspect electrical or fuel system related

First noticed in a shopping center parking lot. I was distracted by something and did not put car transmission shift control in park. I touched engine start/ stop switch and engine turns off as it should. I proceeded to exit the car and noticed it rolling away. Since i was still in car,i realized what happened an corrected the oversight. Most people are used to key ignition and can not pull key unless tranny is in park. This is a safety issue and should be corrected.

The contact owns a 2018 mazda cx-5. When the engine was warmed up and the vehicle was placed in park, the accelerator pedal automatically dropped to the floorboard. The failure caused the vehicle to drive forward and the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to roger beasley mazda georgetown (7551 ih 35 south, georgetown, tx 78626, 512-591-9313) to be diagnosed, but the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 7,226.

The "sbs" system is a dangerous add to the vehicle. It is meant to warn the driver about vehicles suddenly slowing or braking in front of you. Three times this system has caused me near collisions (the system applied the brakes hard and cause the wheels too lock not allowing me to take a safe defensive actions) when the system activated when the "danger" was clearlygone or i took safe action and changed lanes to avoid a collision. The above incidents involved me driving on surface streets at posted speeds of 35-45 mph. This all happened with in a 2-3 week span of time when i had not disabled this feature manually. The road conditions were dry, daylight hours and semi clear days. All the above incidents involved vehicles turning in-front of me. The last time this incident happened was 05/08/19

2018 mazda cx-5when i check the oil it is extremely over full and strong odor of gas when the dipstick is pulled out to be wiped off. It is like 4 inches above the max mark/ oil is very thin. This is an excessive amounts of gas in there.i warm up my car before leaving and drive it regularly everyday. This is very bad i read that gas is not a lubricant and washes the oil out of where it needs to be lubricating engine. It continues to happen. Checked manual to make sure i am checking it correctly. Says to get to operating temp. Wait 5 min to let oil settle back into engine then check it. I contact mazda corps again, they have me take car to vallejo to inspect it with their regional technical specialist, then leave it there for repairs. During this inspection we discover oil leaking from the rear main seal. Their specialist confirms where it is leaking. I leave my car 5 days. Then they call me to pick it up to take it to hansel mazda in santa rosa. Before i drop it off for repairs i have the oil changed at hansel mazda. Then a few days later i check the oil, again it is extremely over full with strong odor of gas. I take it to hansel mazda to have it checked to confirm that this is happening and make app to have the oil leak that was confirmedby mazda's specialist and this problem of gas getting into the oil fixed.i check oil before dropping it off at hansel, it is way over full and very thin. Drop it off, they keep it for 5 day too then say there is no oil leak and nothing wrong with my car. They said they did anything to my car except inspect it. It is running different. I check oil next day it is very thick and very low at the minimum mark on dipstick. The oil has never read this low on the dipstick hansel mazda must have taken a lot of oil out to counter for all the excessive amounts of gas getting there and added something to try to seal the leak. 1509 miles on my new mazda cx 5 purchased at marin mazda in san rafael ca. On may 22, 2018this vehicle keeps having some kind of what feels like a wheel resistance issue. Not sure if it is something happening in the drive train or transmission. Also not sure if it has anything to do with the way the vehicle starts everyday - this car over revs itself when started first thing ticking very loudly, rattling , pinging all kinds of different noises. It is ticking so loudly because it is over revving itself and there is no oil throughout the engine yet. Even after it stops over revving after a few minutes the car continues to have excessive engine noise the service advisor at marin mazda insists that this is normal for mazda's to sound like this & is ok. I don't believe him. This kind of start up everyday is going to cause problems in this engine quickly andpremature failure of this cars engine. Mazda dealers are concealing some defectthat is causing this car to start like this. This is something that should have been disclosed to the customers before they sell this car. Because it did not sound like this when i test drove it. That is because they take you inside while the car is warmed up so you can't hear it. That is concealing this major issue from the consumer. This is mazda's standards of doing business. Concealing known defects of their vehicles then when a customer brings the vehicle in for repair they tell them it is operating as it was intended to by the manufacture. If this is correct then thesethings should have been printed on the window sticker on the car not concealedand not mentioned to the customers. This is very deceptive for mazda, it's dealers and representatives to hide and lie about the merchantability condition of this vehicle. Because nobody wants to buy a brand new car that sounds like a rattle trap ghetto sled when it is started everyday.

When taking vehicle in for recommended 45k mile service, dealer discovered warped head cylinder and leaking oil. No check engine light warning ever came on!no warning.mazda is replacing engine parts under vehicle warranty

Situation: driving uphill on hwy 120 on new priest road, big oak flat, ca, two lane mountain road. Slow car in front of me and a delivery truck tailgating.slow car eventually moves aside in a turnout and i accelerate to open up space between myself and what i thought would be the truck but somehow the slow car returned to the driving lane ahead of the truck.i continue to accelerate to attempt to open up space between myself and the car behindme when i lost power, the car behind me moves to the opposing traffic lane to avoid rear ending my car that is running in degraded mode (accelerator has no effect, basically moving on idle power)and narrowly misses an oncoming car as i move towards the right edge of the right lane.truck behind me has to brake hard to avoid rear ending me.there was no shoulder to pull over to at that location immediate location.i pull over a few hundred yards further at a safe location.grade was perhaps 4% to 6%.weather: hot 90 degreesspeed: accelerating from 35 to 50 mph (guess)diagnostic lights: smart city braking system failure warning, plus a lot of other warning lights lit including check engine light.aftermath: i pulled safely over, stopped the engine, waited a while and restarted the engine and the car returned to it's normal driving behavior and completed my trip.other information: this is the 3rd occurrence of this behavior.each time i have had mazda look at the problem.1st occurrence they replaced the cylinder coil, 2nd occurrence they replaced a spark plug for misfire. 3rd occurrence, to be determined.

Takata recall. I purchased a brand new mazda cx-5 sport from a mazda dealership on 6/4/2018. On 7/31/ 2018 the check engine light came on so i took it back to the dealership with only 2,357 on the odometer. My cx-5 was in the shop from 7/31/ 2018 until 8/10/ 2018, during the first car repair attempt, heritage mazda towson replaced the oil pump strainer, during the second repair attempt, the dealership replaced the oil pressure switch. On 10/10/2018, the check engine light came on while i was traveling to virginia beach. So, i took my car to the mazda dealership there in virginia beach to have my car serviced. The very next day, i was informed by the service consultant that my mazda cx-5 had a defective oil pressure switch and that a replacement part had been ordered.on 10/12/2018, when i returned to the mazda dealership, i was informed by the service manager, that my mazda cx-5 needed a replacement engine with only 5,796 miles on the odometer. My car has been out of service for 32 days collectively.

Engine makes loud noises after driving and acts like it's exhausted. This always happens when park the car and get out of it. There is a slight burning smell (which i was told would wear off after the first couple hundred miles), but it's still doing this. It's like the engine over heated (which no indicator) and it needs to cool off. The smell is the most concerning part.

June 4 2018my brand new 2018 mazda cx 5 that i bought from marin mazda in san rafael cadriving on freeway at approximately 68 mph my car suddenly is slowing down- like self braking on its own- i was not braking- this was happingwhile i was accelerating -it felt like i was towing a large tractor - this resistance keeps recurring causing safety concern as well as bad gas mileage- while this issue is happening i get between 15 -17 miles per gal. - took pictures of fuel monitoring system.having to make my way to the nearest exit with cars honking at me was dangerous. Car had 350 miles on it. Took car back to marin mazda a couple days later for this issue and because it is very loud with excessive engine noise when started everyday. Very concerning as to it being a new car. Dealer said that's just how mazda's sound it's ok we didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Your car is fine. The wheel resistance you are feeling is probably because they spray stuff on the car to prevent rust before they ship vehicle, that coating just needs to burn off. So you need to drive it to burn it off. Your car is operating the way it was intended to.really - this is not how any new car sounds or drives. I have apassenger with me at this time he also stated this was not a normal condition for any vehicle that is operating properly.

The contact owns a 2018 mazda cx-5. The contact stated while driving at low speeds, the vehicle stalled and was restarted. While the push-to-start was engaged, the vehicle revved up high, stalled, and restarted. Additionally, the air conditioner failed to operate as designed. The radio was also inoperable. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to gunther mazda (1800 s state rd 7, fort lauderdale, fl 33317, (954) 420-6565) where it was diagnosed that the battery, a/c motor and an unknown controller needed to be replaced.the vehicle was repaired several times however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 2,000.

The contact owns a 2018 mazda cx-5. While driving 20 mph and below, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact had to depress the accelerator pedal with force to increase the speed. The contact took the vehicle to findlay mazda (7760 eastgate road, henderson, nv 89011, (702) 955-5555) to be repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 19v497000 (engine, power train); however, the repair did not correct the failure. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer, but they were unable to locate any failure codes. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 1-2318934006. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 24,800.

2018 mazda cx-5 grand touring. Alternator/ac serpentine belt tensioner leaks oil (its hydraulic) and if fails could cause belt to come off without warning and leave you stranded. Dealership indicates this is not warranted.

The engine in my mazda cx-5 was required to be replaced recently due to a known issue in the car that causes the rear head to leak.my car has less than 12,000 miles on it so the engine should not have this issue.my dealer explained to me this is a known issue by mazda and he had seen 5-10 other cars just at his dealer.we noticed this issue when my son was driving the car and we saw fluid pouring out of the bottom.we had him stop the car immediately and not drive.i tried numerous times to get mazda to engage to provide a better warranty given it is a new car should not have a blown engine with only 12,000 miles and it is a known issue but they refused to provide any support.i asked about why no recall and they just stated there is no recall for this issue, although the dealer highlighted mazda is aware of a flaw in the car that caused the rear head to leak.i would like to seek some action with mazda to make them deal with this very concerning issue

On may 9, 2020, our mazda cx5 lost thrust, stalled and came to a complete stop while driving on a highway going 55 mph on a straight 3 lane road. This occurred despite the pcm programming was re-calibrated due to a manufacturer recall in september 2019 (nhtsa recall no. 19v497000). The car is towed to a mazda service centre and is awaiting diagnosis.

Vehicle went into limp mode while passing on two lane road.cause was determined to be wrong logic in pcm for cylinder deactivation.this worng logic caused low oil pressure in the lifter during deactivation which in turn caused the rocker arm to become dislodged rendering the associated valve inoperable.there is no indication to the driver of if or when this happens.the driver is then driving the car in a very dangerous state.the problem arises when the the rpms become elevated to around 5000 rpms and above.at this point the computer senses trouble with that cylinder due to the air fuel ratio not being correct and throws the engine into limp mode. Creating a very dangerous situation if you are trying to pass or avoid something where you need the accleration. Extremely dangerous!! when i took my vehicle into my dealership they discovered the misfire on cylinder #4 and mazda had them remove the valve cover and inspect.upon inspection they found a rocker arm had fallen off .according to mazda my car was the 19th that they had seen with this problem.my car was in the shop in oct. Of 2018. By the time my car was out of the shop that number had increased to 26.mazda said the source of the problem was the wrong pcm programing.they stated they have 2 suppliers of pcms and one of their suppliers was using the wrong program.to fix my car they replaced the engine and reflashed the pcm to the correct program.i asked the dealership if they were going to reflash all of the vehicles on their lot that have this engine and they said they did not have permission from mazda to do this.i feel they should have done that because mazda admittedly does not know which cars have the wrong program and a simple reflash of all new vehicls would fix this situation.the number of these bad vehicles is increasng and many peple could be in danger.mazda should recall asap

Attempt to stop at light. Brakes were engaged fully engine kept revving up. Car kept going forward.in motion in city street. Straight and braking. Car has 496 miles.

I am concerned that the headlight glare from my 2018 mazda cx-5 manufactured in november 2107 is excessive for oncoming vehicles. I frequently have oncoming cars flash their lights at me when driving on 2 lane roads at night.my vehicle has the tech package, which includes adaptive led headlights that are supposed to be self leveling.the iihs testing of headlights of the 2017 - 2018 mazda changed in march 2018 from acceptable to good.

Limited taillights. Small half circles on the curved surface of the body. Hardly visible from the rear. Large reflector only on lift gate.

The vehicle wants to keep going when the brakes are applied. When at a stop light, you must keep you foot firmly on the brake as the car wants to lurch forward.when you slow down while driving, the car acts like the turbo is kicking in and wants to lurch forward.very dangerous.i thought it was the engine, but someone told me it is the transmission.

The car tries to lunge forward immediately after coming to a complete stop. I always keep my foot on the brake when i come to an intersection or red light so it hasn't yet caused an accident and the force of the braking action seems to be enough to keep it from lunging for the time being but you can feel it tugging wanting to move forward. An engine light recently came on the dashboard along with a transmission light and traction control light. I took it to local dealer and they replaced a transmission sensor but the car still wants to nudge forward after coming to a stop. The mileage is only 3500.

Attempt to stop at light. Brakes were engaged fully engine kept revving up. Car kept going forward.in motion in city street. Straight and braking. Car has 496 miles.

I purchased a 2018 mazada cx5 in april. In may i noticed that the brakes were hesitant to stop and that they also make grinding noise. I immediately contacted the service department at mazada. The service advisor told me that because the car was new it would make grinding noise and that they would eventually ease up. It is now november and the issue still exist. In june my passengers seat belt began having difficultylatching causing the censor to go off. This happens daily. In october my tire pressure light came on stating that the tire pressure was low. I placed air in my tires and the censor light never went off. On october 18, 2018, i went to the mazada dealership for a scheduled maintenance, informed the service advisor of my concerns and they stated everything was fine and the censor was reset. Today is november 2, 2018 and my tire censor is back on. My brakes are still grinding and now they slide before stopping and my passenger seat belt still is not latching. This is a safety hazard to myself and passengers.

My husband (driver) and i (front passenger) were in my 2018 mazda cx-5 touring and were stopped in traffic on the interstate due to construction. While completely stopped, we were rear-ended by a car traveling at 55-60+ miles per hour (the car did not brake at all before hitting us). Both of our seat backs failed upon impact and went all the way back, with the headrests flying out of both seats. Thankfully no passengers or pets were in the back seat when this happened, but this is a serious safety concern. Attached are photos of the inside of the car in the state it was in after the crash.

While light braking, car brakes jam...causing unintended stop.dangerous.at no time was a code flagged.mentioned to girl at desk when in for service 3 times. When car when in for service. Ladt service i believe car was put on diagnostics.was told nothing found.because it happens so often, & dealership tells me cannot find any problem...i called a mechanic outside of mazda.spoke on phone with master mechanic. & described problem..he informed me problem was a sensor in the transmission.car shuts down & locks.because it happens so fast no code is generated.said is serious problem.

I just use my car around town...putting less than 10,000 mi a year on the car.this problem has happened several times.i mentioned the problem to the dealership when i bring the car in for service, & they return the car saying they didn't find a problem???problem:i'll be driving along, around town...usually going around 20-30 mph, on lamar blvd.i have to slow down because the car in front of me decides to turn into heb parking lot.what i think happens...my foot goes to the floor...no braking!no braking, & then the car jerks & seizes.i can't tell you how many times i almost got hit in the back!!! please help me figure out what the problem is...i just lost my husband & the last thing i need is an accident.the date you required below was the last time the incident happened.

Made a slow right turn into a parking place to pick up my dogs at the groomer, when i applied brakes to stop, the car accelerated lurching forward.i then took my foot off the brake and reapplied instead of slowing down the car sped up and was only stopped when i hit a brick building.i had two dash warnings "front camera sensor system malfunction" and "forward smart city bread support malfunction" i am not certain how fast the car was moving when i hit the building but the entire front of the car is significantly damaged. Further the air bags did not deploy.i have photos of both the collision damage and the warning lights.the dealership requested they run diagnostics and found nothing wrong claiming the accident was my faultas i must have put my foot on both the brake and gas at the same time.i am an experienced driver and this was not the case. The also stated the warning lights were a result of the accident not the cause. I am only grateful i was not pulling into a space closer to the door as i would have gone through a plate glass window and most likely would have cause a serious injury to anyone standing in the lobby.

Issue was a frozen caliper bracket on the rear drivers side which resulted in creating excessive heat and premature wear of the pads and rotors

The contact owns a 2018 mazda cx5. The contact stated that the brakes malfunctioned and the vehicle crashed into another parked vehicle. The front passenger side of the vehicle was damaged. The contact went to the chiropractor for treatment. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed away to towing yard awaiting inspection from the insurance company.the dealer and the manufacturer had not been contacted yet. The vehicle had a nhtsa campaign number: 19v497000 (power train, engine). The failure mileage was unknown.

The scbs (smart city brake support) system overreacts to other vehicles and forces my vehicle to stop suddenly (not slow down) when there is sufficient distance for me to stop or the vehicle in front is turning and no threat. This overreaction has nearly caused four accidents in which the scbs forced the car to brake and the vehicles behind me nearly hitting my car.rather than avoiding an accident, the system will causes them if it weren't for the quick reactions of the drivers behind me.

Rear drivers side caliper becomes stuck when electric brake when disengaged causing over heating of rotor and excess heat to the wheel resulting in premature wear of rotor and brake pads and also could lose breaking capability i have made an appt with dealership to resolve issue on july 6th

Driving in the city while a carin front is turning right and well out of the cars future path, the smart city brake feature will illuminate on the dash to brake. There is no need to brake as the car in front is turning out of the way. Very annoying and upsets my wife as a passenger. Radar needs reflashed and the beam width be smaller. Car should see that the car is leaving the radar path and should not start beep. This happens alot.

12/26/2018 vehicle has 1500 miles on it. Dry clean pavement, 39 degrees f, at night. Slow speed, 15mph, normal braking in congested highway traffic, going straight, anti lock brake system activated and vehicle automatically braked very hard, vehicle behind struck our car from behind because they did not anticipate a very hard brake, conditions did not call for a hard brake. Dash warning lights came on indicating "forward smart city brake support malfunction" and"front camera sensor system malfunction". Only damage was to rear of vehicle, no injuries. Very dangerous malfunction. Will be bringing to dealership today , 12/27/2018. State troopers at scene and report filed, not yet on hand for submission. Two photos taken minutes after the accident of dash attached.

While driving on a city street and there is a car stopped in front, i will start to brake lightly and then increase braking if needed. Three times the car has stopped itself with mazda's "smart city brake" feature. I had space to stop in time, but the car's scb takes over and violently brakes the car to a stop an increases the chance of a rear end collision from a car following me. This has happened 3 times. Every time i had control and could stop in time and the vehicle's algorithm says too close and stops the car violently, even if i am applying the brakes already. Unacceptable to have the scb feature this sensitive, and should not brake more if the driver is already applying the brakes.

Persistent issue with smart city break systems malfunctioning causing the vehicle to break without warning. So far only at low speeds but it triggers a check engine light due to me pushing the gas while the car is trying to break. When i can get to a spot to turn the engine off, then back on, the warnings go away. It's very unsettling when this happens and feels like an accident could occur at any moment as i can't control the speed of the vehicle when this happens. So far this has happened on city streets and once while driving in a curvy country road. Has occurred at least 5 times in the two weeks i've only the vehicle and the dealership has no idea what is wrong. They replaced some parts but it's still happening.

1550 miles on my mazda cx 5. After picking my car up from marin mazda from supposedly being repaired i am driving home when the same resistance problem i took it in for happens again. Feels like i am towing a very large tractor all the way home. I look under the car when i get there and notice that the ball joints, tie rod ends, some of my brake parts and many other parts are rusted. This is very concerning to me because marin mazda told me they took my brakes apart, cleaned them because there was a piece of dirt in there. Dirt should not be able to get in the brakes. Also this means that they saw the rusted parts on the brakes and suspension and said nothing to me, did nothing to fix them and sent me on my way telling me this car is safe to drive. I started doing some research on mazda's vehicles and foundout that they have previously had to recall hundreds of thousands of their vehicles due to them being unsafe to drive due to rusted suspension and other rust issues. Marin mazda knowing set me away with rusted suspension parts, brake parts and told me this car is safe to drive. Ignoring my complaints about how the car is not operating right. After seeing the rust and taking my car back to the dealer marin mazda, one more time and them repairing nothing, i contacted mazda north american operations. Informing them of the issues that i have been having my car was also damaged while it was at marin mazda for repairs this last time. There was still white grit from their stucco wall, from where only their service techs can drive the cars, embedded in my bumper/ paint. Mazda corporate has done nothing about my car not being repaired even thou my complaints were duplicated by the service tech nor about the damage to my car that was proven to have happened at their shop and confirmed by the service manager. I told mazda corps representative dave about the rust as well.

My son was driving the car with speed 20 and his dad was sitting next to him. He turned to neighborhood gate. He pressed the brake but the car accelerates on its own like crazy. In short distance from speed 20 went to a speed that flipped over at the gate. Instead of brake car accelerated so fast that was unbelievably. Hopefully no injury happened. But the car is total lost.

My car was bumped in the right rear bumper in a parking lot.the other vehicle was not traveling more than 3 mph.it left a small line of white paint on the bumper but the bumper was undamaged.the blind spot sensor malfunction light came on.i took the car to the dealership for repair.the dealership quoted $670 for the sensor plus $300 for labor.i confirmed the price of the part with mazda usa.this vehicle has a serious design defect if it can't withstand a 3 mph impart without causing $1,000 in damange.mazda usa is using its monopoly on supplying parts to gouge consumers.the wholesale cost of the part to mazda can't be more than $50.my only choice is to pay the outrageous cost or drive my vehicle without one of its safety features.

Mazda's soul crystal red paint on my cx-5 that has only 12000 miles and is garageddaily has 12 or more chips on the hood and several on the door. This color was a $700 dollar option andthe paint is inferior in quality and easily chips. Have read on line of thousands of other mazda owners complain of a similar problem with their paint.a recall should be instituted.

I am experiencing substantial chipping of the paint on my 2018 mazda cx-5. I have only had the car just under 3 months and under 7000 miles driven. It appears as though the paint is not bonded with the metal underneath the paint. Or that the layers of paint are not bonded. I have heard of many others experiencing same or very issues with the soul crystal red paint mazda is using. It needs to be classified as faulty paint and handled by mazda accordingly.

The paint easily chips despite it being a $1000 upgraded paint color.we were told by multiple mazda dealers that the 7 stage paint makes it soft and easy to chip.this is not an acceptable standard, all mazda paints should have the same performance and durability, especially if it is $1000 upgrade. I have filled dozens of these chips and appear daily, it is evident by thousands of reports online that this is a significant defect on mazdas behalf.

With less than 30,000 miles the mazda red soul paint began chipping. An issue mazda has known about and refuses to address.

I have the $595 extra red soul crystal metallic paint.there a re many chips forming, mostly on the hood.these are not from rocks, or any other debris.they started forming a couple months after i bought it in june 2018.looking at the chips in the red paint, it appears that the red paint is very, very thin.almost like it was one coat.my mazda dealership did not offer any help other than giving me the red touch-up paint pen, which actually is terrible and the red paint in the touch-up pen does not even match.faulty paint/painting job?and, it should be covered under warranty, as it was an extra $595 option!

The car has multiple paint chips on the hood and all the side panels including all four doors with less than 3500 miles on the odometer. It is the soul crystal red color. The small pebbles that hit it were smaller than the eye could see while driving. (tiny gravel at a highway construction site) the body shop that's repairing it said they've never seen that much damage on a car that new. It's costing my insurance company $4000 to repair. I can only speculate that the paint might be extremely thin and not adhering to the metal as it should.

My car is 1 year old, soul red crystal metallic paint color.it has a greater than normal amount of paint chipping on the hood and other places.in observing the chipping, the paint layer appears to be very thin.i have not traveled in areas that would merit this amount of chipping.the car is garage kept when i am not driving it.

Soul red crystal chipping on my hood several locations if i had to count 20

The paint appears to be defective. The paint chips excessively when it is being hit by road dirt/stones. Knicks and dinks from being hit by stones/dirt are all part of the driving experience. But the emphasis here is that the paint is excessively flaking off the car where the car is hit by dirt/stones. It comes off in chunks. It appears that the paint is not bonded to the metal underneath the paint.

The contact owns a 2018 mazda cx-5. While driving 35 mph, the contact noticed that the windshield was chipped. There was no other vehicle in front of the contact. The dealer was contacted (napleton's schaumburg mazda, 110 w golf rd, schaumburg, il 60195) and determined that the damage was cosmetic and not covered under the vehicle's warranty. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and offered the contact a $500.00 gift card. The failure mileage was 130.

I was entering the parking garage of my apartment building. The car was not moving as i had my foot on the brake as i was waiting for the garage door to open.the car just suddenly accelerated before the garage door was fully up.my car went straight ahead and hit a parked vehicle.the airbags did deploy.the parked car had both front and back end damage.there was also damage to the garage door.the police were called.photos do not include the parked vehicle damage to protect the person's identity.

Sun roof shattered while driving home on the highway in the pouring rain. I was not driving behind anything that could have kicked up a rock and there is no other damage to the roof of my car.

Rear drivers side caliper becomes stuck when electric brake when disengaged causing over heating of rotor and excess heat to the wheel resulting in premature wear of rotor and brake pads and also could lose breaking capability i have made an appt with dealership to resolve issue on july 6th

Sudden windshield cracking11-14-2018our 2018 cx5 has 7500 miles and driving at night with very little traffic on thefreeway in southern california the windshield just crackedfrom the center down approx. 5 inches , there is no sign that it was hit by a stone or rock . I have owned a 2015 mazda cx5 andthe same problem happenedwith that vehicle. I have been following mazda forums and finding out there are many people throughout the country experiencing this same issue .there is no bullet hole type mark to indicate a stone or rock hit windshield

On the third day after leasing this brand new car, i was driving at approximately 20 mph, on a normal city street and slowly pressed my foot on the brake as i approached a red light on a standard city street.no cars were in front of me, thankfully, because as i pressed the brake the car accelerated instead of stopping;the engine and parking warning lights (and several other random lights) illuminated and flashed; and at least three text malfunction warnings appeared in the control panel including scbs malfunction. The car was jerking and accelerating forward throughout even though my foot was on the brake.mazda's tech said that all the malfunctions i observed appeared on the computer readout, but because they could not replicate the problem after a computer reset, they told me that the car "is running as the manufacturer intended."this is terrifying.

The car color is soul red and the paint is flaking off. I drive the car short distances under 40mph and it looks like the paint is chipping more and more. It's almost like big rocks are hitting the paint but there is no debris where i drive.

My paint has been chipping on this vehicle they repainted the hood but the car is still experiencing an excessive amount of chips i have complained to no avail however there are several articles that this soul red color is defective and i was also told that by the general manager at flow mazda in fayetteville nc my car does not have 26000 miles and was stored in a garage

Sunroof exploded while driving on highway.no sign that it was hit by an object.weather clear and about 45f.sounded like a gunshot, very loud pow, and not sound of an impact.edges of remaining glass flipped upward.no marks on roof and no objects other than some glass pieces on sliding shade panel under sunroof.

2018-2019 mazda cx-5 software error may cause engine stall safety and emission recall 3719f nhtsa campaign number 19v-497. I received mail showing my vin number is part of a recall. I went online to contact closest mazda dealer which 3 hours drive one way,and tried to schedule an appointment to have them fix the recalled part free of charge. When i entered the vin number , it showed me there are no active recalls for this vin number , which is not true. I was relieved for a moment thinking i don't have to make the long trip after all, but then i checked my vin number again and my car is 100% part of the recall. Www.mazdarecallinfo.com also confirmed this vin number was part of a recall and when i clicked schedule an appointment it took me again to their application which then again stated my vin number is not part of an active recall. I went ahead and i scheduled an appointment regardless, but i do think this is both misleading and dangerous to have the online scheduling app search and state there is no recall. I took a screen shot, as this is most likely impacting a lot of folks that try to get their recalled part fixed with a mazda.

While parking at a very slow speed, the mazda suddenly and on its own accelerated and ran into a fixed object. The vehicle was off the road in a grassy parking area when it happened.. .

Nist campaign 19v497modifications were made.the vehicle now decelerates up to 6 mph on hill ingress; on egress the vehicle goes at least 3 mph over setting.when passing cars on a hill, the car slows down when relying on cruise control to resume driving, thus causing us to step on the gas to hold a safe distance from the passed car.we have lost at least 3 mpg fuel efficiency.we have returned to the dealer and they indicated that the vehicle is operating as expected.this fix is a safety concern.

The contact owns a 2018 mazda cx-5. While pulling into a parking space at 5 mph, the vehicle accelerated on its own while the brake pedal was depressed. As a result, the vehicle drove over a median and crashed into another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to schwartz mazda (585 shrewsbury ave, shrewsbury, nj 07702, (732) 945-5100) to be diagnosed, but the cause of the failure was undetermined. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing and repairs. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The failure mileage was 650.

Windows keep freezing shut. Never have owned a vehicle that has had this issue. This is not only an inconvenience trying to swipe a rfid card to get into a secure parking facility but a major safety issue should there be an emergency that requires the window to be rolled down (i.e. To escape sinking car, make contact with leo, etc). The vehicle has been brought to the dealer and they didn't find anything wrong. Its been happening since the vehicle was new.

New car with 500 miles.parked car in a parking lot and the next morning there was a chip and crack about 6 inches long on the windshield.did something hit it like a rock?maybe, but the windshield seems to crack easier than normal based on all the complaints online.
