The car unintentionally accelerates. This happened on 3 different occasions. The 1st occurrence happened approximately two weeks after purchasing the vehicle. It's a 2015 model. I purchased a vehicle in august 2020. The 2nd occurrence happened nov 12 and today nov 21. The 1st time this happened i did some research and it seemed like there was an issue with maseratis floor own floor mats. At the time and prior to knowing this, i had put brand new floor mats of my own in the vehicle completely unaware that this was an oem issue. After this happened the 1st time, i removed my personal floor mats thinking that would solve the issue. The 2nd time this happened, the issue was slight and there were no other cars around me. I thought maybe it was an operator issue using manual shifting perhaps. At any rate i was able to regain control of the 2nd occurrence rather quickly to the point where this was almost unnoticeable. This third time the vehicle completely lost control and i had to depress the break pedal %100 in traffic to regain control of the car. Meanwhile, it would still continue to do the acceleration. The car was screeching and accelerating with me depressing the brake pedal. I pulled off safely on the side of the road with the brake pedal 100% depressed. I threw the vehicle in park and the problem went away. This vehicle doesn't allow you to shift into neutral while occurring.(unsafe)i don'tthink this issue has relevance to the current recall for this model, which is floormat related. When trying to regain control of the vehicle i consciously tried to see if the pedal was stuck and it was not. Also there are no reported recalls for my particular vin so i'm reporting this now.i have since contacted maserati and have a current repair scheduled. At this time, i don't know if they will do this repair free of charge but will have follow-up details available if need be.
Purchase this car in december 2015 and only placed 2500 miles on the auto and service attendant said you must drive the car 4000 miles to keep the battery charged.i have only had the auto for 6 months.spoke to the tow truck driver and this is one of the issues of this vehicle.they are attempting to charge me for a battery in which i have only owned the car for 6 months.
The contact owns a 2015 maserati ghibli. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 mph, the vehicle independently accelerated up to 70 mph without warning. The contact was able to stop the vehicle by pulling up the accelerator pedal and depressing the brake pedal to the floorboard. The contact mentioned that after the failure occurred, the vehicle failed to start as the instrument panel flickered and the windshield wipers operated independently. The vehicle was towed to the dealer but had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 2,045.
While driving at safe speed in snow and slush, stability was lost.i was in the left lane passing a truck, between the center divider and the truck, while in a mild right turn uphill.the left tires caught some slush, and i corrected trying to remain in the lane and avoiding the divider and the truck by steering right, then countersteering left, then right again..two corrections to the right with the tail moving left activated the esc.as my hd video shows, the corrective action activated the esc and took control from me and violently drove me into the divider by activating the left front brake.i bounced off the divider into the truck's tractor rear tires, spun, and then back into the wall.i had control, even with the unstable condition, up until the esc activated.as a professional pilot and a driver who's been driving on snow and ice since age 15, i understand control, loss of control, and how to regain it.i had control until the safety system took it from me.i have had 747s moving sideways down the runway and have always regained control.never in my private or professional life have i had a computerized safety system endanger my life.but in this instance it most definitely did.had i not hit the truck's tires i most likely would have gone under the trailer and been decapitated or otherwise injured or killed.the history of esc shows it has a successful record.however, in this instance it is directly responsible for the accident.i had esc activate once before in the same vehicle on dry pavement, and it did remarkably well.but it this incident which destroyed my prized maserati, it either activated with too much force or activated along with my countersteering. Nevertheless, without a edr download, the data cannot be analyzed.only my recollection and my video can be seen.

California emissions warranty concern for high pressure fuel pump system failure. Multiple high pressure fuel pump system failures within 12 months and a few thousand miles. Maserati north america is unwilling to cover an emissions warranty component under 7 year/70,000 mile california emissions warranty. Fuel pump was previously repaired by maserati of van nuys 9/24/2018 under warranty. At that time a workmanship issue occurred during a warranty claim at an authorized maserati service center. The fuel pump bolt was damaged. Fuel pump has now failed again 8/2019 and vehicle has returned to rusnak maserati of pasadena. Dealer has confirmed active check engine light due to failed hp fuel pump. Maserati will not complete emissions repair due to damaged/stripped bolt. Maserati of van nuys has since gone out of business and changed ownership since original warranty claim repair. I have been quoted over $3,100 to complete repair due to damaged bolt that occurred during a warranty claim at an authorized maserati dealer paid by maserati north america. Maserati na have also refused to provide a claim denial letter and we are slowly approaching the 30 day time limit for emissions related repair timelines. Maserati north america customer care case # 159381 and 158878. Bar complaint # 2019082983613. Previous nhtsa ref # 219718. Have also emailed the epa and carb to file a formal complaint.
I was driving on i-10near palm springs, ca february 27 at about 12:10 am. I passed a semi-truck by moving to the left and accelerating.after passing the truck i moved back to the slow lane and noticed the car was traveling very fast. I begin braking the car to slow down and realized the car was accelerating on its own. The braking was not noticeably slowing the car ( and as your recall cites it should, the braking did not disengage the accelerator.)i then placed the transmissionin neutral. Of course this solved the immediate problem. Nonetheless the engine was still racing and i then had to wedge my shoe under the accelerator pedal and forcefully lift it off the floorboard. This is a life threatening event for some drivers as this vehicle has veryfast acceleration leaving little time to react before the car would be travelling at 175 mph etc. Of course i see the recall, but i am writing because i do not believe this was caused by a loose floor mat. This seems to be a computer input problem as i never had pressed the accelerator pedal to the floor to be stuck there in the first place. The pedal was all the way to floor when i tried to lift it. Secondly, the brake- engine disconnect did not work.i do have video of this event on my dashcam.this is a very dangerous problem due to the nature of itand is vastly compounded by the rapid acceleration of this car.
The contact owns a 2015 maserati ghibli. While driving, the contact's husband heard an abnormal noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to maserati of central florida (525 s lake destiny dr, lockhart, fl 32810, (407) 667-0273) where it was diagnosed that the rear differential needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was out of warranty. No further assistance was offered. The failure mileage was approximately 31,000. The vin was not available.

The contact leased a 2015 maserati ghibli. Hours after the dealer (rusnak maserati of pasadena, 297 w colorado blvd, pasadena, ca 91105) performed an oil change on the vehicle, the rear wheels seized, the brakes seized, and the vehicle stalled while at a red light. The contact had to coast the vehicle over to the side of the road. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake module needed replacement. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and indicated that the dealer would need to replace the part. The approximate failure mileage was 15,100.
In 2015 i leased a maserati ghibli at rusnak pasadena ca with a 39 month lease term. On may 18, 2018 - i took my car in for a oil change service at a local dealer (maserati alfa romeo of puente hills, ca), service's done around 2:56 pm(5/18/2018) , i drove the car for approximately 2-3 hours to run some errands, all the sudden the brake system locked all wheels while we were driving on the city street. Lucky, we were driving on localstreet at average speed of 30 mph, other wise this sudden stop could have get ushit by other carsand/or sustaining a serious head injury resulting from a rollover car accident due to this sudden 'auto brake lock' on city street.this sudden 'auto break lock' made a very loud squeaking sound and made a black track mark on the road. All three of us on the car were terrified. Our car's dash board did not show any warning light or service light before or after this happened (brake melt function).this car is brand new when i leased it in 2015 and the current mileage around '15196' miles. Since it still under factory warranty then the car dealer will repair for free. It's already been sit in the dealer repair shop for almost two months now, until today(7/5/2018) the dealer still hasn't provide a proper explanation of what actually happened? and i don't want to continue to drive this car, i am so concerned and worried it will happen again. It is so scary when the car stops abruptly by itself, and the part really bothers me is i don't know when this 'auto brake locking' will happen again? without any warning sign, the worst part is the even the dealer doesn't have an answer for this, they just changed the brake system and called it done.
Rear breaks pads at minimal under 13,300 miles on the car.maserati refuse to replace them under warranty. I understand itswear and tear but not when the car has 13,300 miles.no car will put you to replace break pads at low low miles.i am sure this could be manufacturing malfunction faulty and it i'm sure there is other maserati owners has the same problem.

The vehicle was manufactured with an aluminum front chassis that was to thin for the road so it cracked leaving the car unable to steer the front wheels correctly.it happens with normal driving and a recall was not issued for all cars because it would affect sales.it had to be discovered by a repair facility to be fixed otherwise it was hidden by maserati na.
The felt wheel liner on both front wheels is defective.maserati along with all dealers i've spoken to know of the issue.i spoke to the service manager at the collection/maserati in miami and he stated they are replacing them every single day (yet maserati refuses to fix the defective product under warranty).they become torn and dislodged when going through puddles/normal road conditions (when it's raining).once dislodged, it is a safety hazard. Not only can they fly up underneath the vehicle and hit objects/vehicles/people, but their dislocation can run against the wheel and cause a series of adverse events, even the possibility of losing control.maserati knows of the issue, is concealing the issue, has refused to provide a recall for the defective wheel liners, and are instead forcing the consumer to mitigate it on their own.

Gas pedal got stuck upon acceleration.the speed was 30 mph and it went to 60 in few seconds. This was not due to any obstruction. Had to turn of engine to stop the car.

The contact owns a 2015 maserati ghibli. While driving 60 mph, the floor mat became stuck under the accelerator pedal and caused the vehicle to speed out of control. The failure mileage was approximately 10,400.
I purchased the 2015 maserati ghibli sq4 nov 2015, and after 2000 miles the car had a problem with the air condition stuck in defrost mode.took the car to the local dealer for service repair and they found the issue with the air condition solenoid that was replaced. Then i started having too much front windshield defrost and it covers my front view.to reproduce the concern start the car and open up the 4 windows drive up for more than 15 minutes, then stop the car close the windows and turn of the engine. Come back after 10 minor more start the engine, roll down the windows and start driving.you'll feel the heat inside from the engine inside the car, and you'll start seeing large amount of defrost inside the windshield even the windows rolled down.i had to keep turning in front and back defrost and the air condition.turn off the air condition keep driving then the defrost will come back again and the only way to eliminate the defrost you have to keep both defrost and air condition on all the time.the service shop stated this is working as designed. Please advice!

The pirelli p zero 285/35 r20 c100yd dot xb 6f n662 right rear tire blew out totally. The sidewall separated on the street side of the tire on a smooth highway, traveling about 65 mph with only 850 miles of wear. The tires handle great but i have never had any tire blow out especially at 850 miles. Seems other makes of p zero tires have been recalled, looks like pirelli has another lemon on its hands. The car is at the dealership now, waiting to see how they handle it.
