On our trip home from the dealership, around halfway home, the factory aluminum battery mount holder, holding a brand new full size battery that was in a plastic box sheared off the trailer, the entire apparatus falling underneath the camper as we were towing it down a 4 lane highway, ripping off the electrical connectors as well.we thought we had lost a wheel, when the camper ran over the fallen battery, yanking our car out of it's lane, and sending the battery, box & aluminum bracket exploding into multiple pieces and strewing it into the oncoming traffic that was behind us.we saw the debris flying in our rearview mirror as we slowed to see what had just occurred. The cars & trucks behind us were veering off the road to avoid all the acid, metal & debris and we immediately put on our emergency flashers and got off the highway as soon as we safely could. Traffic behind us continued veering to avoid the debris, swerving off onto the shoulders on both sides. We did not attempt to remove the debris as it was an extremely busy highway & our lives would have definitely been in danger. We believe these battery mounts are insufficient on the single frame mount to hold the weight of a standard rv battery.
