Trailer was built with an axle (dexter #10) with a 5,000 lb. Maximum load capacity, yet the net/dry weight of the trailer is 3,600-3,800 lbs, and the trailer's gvwr is 5,390 lbs. Therefore the axle is undersized to handle even the trailer, let alone any cargo.on extended trip over rough road extreme tire damage was observed, later diagnosed to be the wheels scraping the underside of the wheel well due to the suspension not being able to absorb the shocks from irregular road surfaces.approximate gross weight of the trailer when this occurred was around 3,600-3,800 lbs. *dt
