05' navigator. Air bags didn't deploy on impact. Moments after impact, as a precaution i pulled parking brake, but vehicle rolled back and caused a 2nd impact. As a result, i was hospitalized for chest/head/ankle/knee related injuries. Manufacturer took no responsibility, when my lawyer inquired on this matter.
Air bags are very loud and they run oftenair conditioning in rear makes a popping noiseair conditioning in blows through floor vents when i acceleratei haven't been able to fix it because it is too expensive.
There wasnt a recall on my airbags per my vin number however just yesterdaymy vehicle was totaled due to brake failure which upon impact only the passenger side airbag deployed while the driver side didnt. There was no passenger...
Vehicle was involved in a crash. All the airbags in the vehicle deployed with the exception of the drivers airbag. Passenger airbag deployed with no passenger in seat. Driver suffered crushed spine and legs, along with head and facial injuries.
While traveling 50 mph in the lincoln, another driver attempted to make an illegal left turn in front of the navigator resulting in immediate severe collision. The front impact destroyed the front end of the lincoln, and also caused it to spin 180 degress resulting in a second collision with the at fault driver. The driver airbag did not deploy and resulted in severe injury to the driver.
I turned my ignition to start my car and the driver airbag deployed from the steering wheel hitting me in the head causing me to lose consciousness briefly from the impact. The airbag popped in my ear after hitting my head and started smoking. The smoking coming from the now deflated airbag did not stop for about 10 minutes.there was no reason for the airbag to deploy. I am very afraid of why this happened and since it happened for no reason i am fortunate this didn't happen while driving. I am 7 months pregnant, so due to this happening my doctor had me go to the hospital to have the baby monitored to make sure everything was ok. I use this car to drive my 4 year old and 2 year old and i am concerned for my whole family's safety. Ford needs to take action on this case of airbag deploying for no reason.
While driving on the highway full speed, the vehicle (2005 lincoln navigator) stopped and i then coasted into the emergency lane where i was able to restart the vehicle to drive to safe location.this incident occurred twice before receiving the error code in the car check electronic throttle.there was no warning before stopping luckily i was able to coast to a safe location but this could have been a catastrophic event especially with my children in the car.the car was taken to the dealer and they replaced the electronic throttle body assembly to the tune of $563.85 including labor.
Dt: the consumer stated2005 lincoln navigator was having problems with the suspension and the gear shift. The vehicle has been in the repair shop three times. The manufacturer has not been called. The consumer talked to the dealer, and they could not help him. The first timethe electrical work was done, it was fixed. Afterwards, the vehicle has been in the shop the past wee, and nothinghasbeen fixed.no date was setwhen the vehicle will be fixed. The dealership does not know when the parts will come in.
My 2005 lincoln navigator has suddenly stopped on several occasions.it only has 43k miles.the computer stated to check electronic throttle.i took the truck to the dealer and they told me to replace the electronic throttle body.they wanted $500+!!the truck has stopped working several times since.the manufacturer was contacted and they refused to pay!the first time it happened was on the freeway in the fast lane!!
I started my lincoln navigator put the car in drive as i proceeded drive 1/4 way,had to stop, but could not put the vehicle in any position after that,in the middle of the road, could not move the truck from that position.
Engine starts to knock an shake very loudly while coming to a complete stop from simply driving 45mph or it completely lloses all power as i'm driving an a loud poppig explosions coming from the exhuast an they are loud enough were people hehhave pulled up next to me to let me know an afraid the car may blow up. Air suspension dose not come on when it's cold an drives very poorly an misleading to other drivers an law enforcement since i've been pulled over for possible dui because the car is all over the place an jumpy. The radio cuts in an out as i drive, the cruise control doesn't work. I've taken it to 3 different mechanics they all say the same thing take it to the dealer because they can't seem to figure it out. So i took it to galpin lincoln in van nuys, ca on roscoe blvd an sepulveda an they just found one fuel injector needing replaced an wanted me to $2,500 for labor alone to completely open up my engine an see if it could possibly be the timing chain an realine the camshafts but they are not certain that's actually the problem with my navigator because they can completely do all that an come up to be fine an be something else but unless i pay $2,500 for labor to just see if it is an have the chance it could not be i still lose those $2,500 because it's a non refundable. Where am i going to come up with that kind of money not alone why am i having to pay that first to see if it's a maybe the reason of all my car problems. Honestly that is ridiculous an not going to pay that kind of money on a maybe answer not a 100 percent we are sure that's the problem. Something needs to give an heaven forbid my car does blow up with my son's in the car driving it just because i needed to pay that amount on a maybe answer is un called for.
2005 navigator has only 60,000 miles, spark plugs defected, dealer wants $1,500 to $2,500 to replace them, which is defect from manufacture. These spark plugs should be replaced due to defects from manufacture, and the recall only wants to pay $1,040 for the replacement of the spark plugs, why should i pay up front if they are manufacture fault and my navigator only has 60,00 miles now andi purchased it new from the dealer in 2005.
The spark plugs are recall, my lincoln has only 68,000 miles i purchased new in july 2005, now air suspension has problems too how can i receive a refund on the recalls after i paid $1,800.00 in repairs.
As i was merging on freeway, i experienced sudden loss of power and it could have resulted in fatalities since it was at rush hour.as i pulled over, the engine was bucking but regained power with sporadic bouts of loss during my drive home.there was a misfire on cylinder one and i replaced and tested all related components and then found out it was the cam phaser issue that plagues the triton engine.from reading other comments from both consumer and repair shop owners, it is simply a defective product from who else, the ford corp.of course they blame the owner for lack of maintenance.
2005 lincoln navigator has had loss of power on multiple occasions.i have had the vehicle since new and i have taken it to the ford dealers in the area 3 times to have the problem fixed.dealer has been able to duplicate the problem but does not have a solution to fix it.vehicle hesitates and does not accelerate creating a serious hazard when acceleration is needed.ford has no solution to repair the problem and i was told to continue driving the vehicle and keep a log of when the problem exists (ie; weather, time date ect).

The contact owns 2005 lincoln navigator. The contact stated that they had to replace the engine since the head gasket was defective and there was a piston that caused metal shavings to enter the engine. The vehicle was diagnosed by the dealer several times since a knocking sound was in the engine. The dealer was unable to find the source of the knocking sounds in the engine. Since the vehicle was 5000 miles over the warranty the engine failed. The dealer inspected the engine and stated that in needed to be replaced. The failure and current mileages were 55000. While driving my 2005 lincoln navigator the vehicle stopped in the middle of traffic without any warning.eventually restarted the vehicle and took it to the dealer.the problem was a faulty throttle body assembly.we had to get the throttle body assembly replaced.the old part is not available. *ln
My 2005 lincoln navigator fuel pump went bad, and when i went to buy one, there is a nation wide back order on this item, can this be because the part has been going bad on all navigators which is the cause of the major back order, now my car is sitting for 3 weeks because i cannot locate no fuel pump anywhere in the usa.
2005 navigator injector failed and ruined engine on june 17, 2008 with 53,000 miles driven.car was billowing smoke, smelled strongly of gas, andstopped functioning as i was driving it.ford took nearly a month to replace engine and replace injector.picked car up on july 23, 2008. Roughly 3 weeks later, asecond injector failed on august 22, 2008. Car was billowing smoke and failed and i had to pull over immediately. Car was towed to dealer. Picked up car today(aug 28,2008) and i know it will fail again in the next 14-30 days because early indicators are rough idol and rough start, and car displayed both as i drove away from the dealer today.called dealer-they saidnothing comes up on test and ford won't replace another injector until it fails.unable to tow boat because of safety fears.if car fails while towing boat driver could most definitely loose control and have accident with 5000 lbs. Of boat behind.what i have is a 60,000 vehicle with 53,000 miles on it that is completely undependable and not suitable to tow anything until all injectors are replaced because of safety concerns.the process of driving the car as the injector fails is harrowing because the car literally stops functioning as it is moving, billows smoke and smells strongly of gas, leaving me shaking and fearing that it may blow up or catch fire. The only way ford will replace an injector is if this exact thing occurs. It is just a matter of time before injury and damage occur. I urge you to do something about this before that happens.
A little complex for this little box.driving in town.car starter to run really rough, volumes of white smoke out of tail pipe.check engine light on.flatbedded car to dealer.next day learned 2 fuel injectors had jammed on.dealer repaired.later in day, dealer explained 2 connecting rods had been bent attempting to compress fluid (gasoline).ford supplied a short block under warranty.six months later, volumes of white smoke, rough running, check engine light on.dealer stated another injector had jammed partially open.replaced.i asked if they had replaced all eight the initial time.no, ford won't allow.will ford allow this time.no.letter to ford 6 weeks ago.asked ford to replace the remaining 5 fuel injectors. No answer.also learned that ford changed injector valve manufactures for the 2005 model year.i've also learned ford has had many, many problems with the injector valves used in 2005.i believe i am now driving a car that has a good likelihood of stranding me and my family in a minnesota winter.yes, it is still under warranty - but that won't keep us from freezing on a lonely road.can you do anything to document other cases?can you do anything to help me?
We have purchased a 2005 lincoln navigator. It is the only vehicle i have seen where there is no "door/flap" in the filler neck to prevent "splash back"of fuelin the event the cap is left off. I have checked the 2006 models, they appear to be the same. The dealer cannot advise why it is like that. I would assume it would present a fire hazard if the cap is accidentally left off. I have checked-there are no recalls as a result of this. If there is an internal splash back protection in the tank, no one seems to know about it.have put incident date as the date the car was purchased.thank you.
Has happened a few times recently twice in one week.driving and my truck shuts off, steering locks up and no power.the warning indicator tells me. "check throttle computer system,i shut off truck and after a couple times it starts back up...

My vehicle is a 2005 lincoln navigator. The vehicle came to a stall while driving on the expressway. The motor was running but the vehicle would not accelerate. This is very frightening as vehicles following closely are unable to determine when my vehicle is slowing down because the brakes are not applied. The vehicle slows rapidly and there is no way to drive the vehicle to a safe place out of traffic.
The contact owns a 2005 lincoln navigator. The contact stated the gear shift selector would not move from the park position. The dealer advised that the shifter assembly would need to be replaced. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 85,126 and the current mileage was 86,000.

2005 lincoln navigator brakes seem to grab when depressing the pedal.the consumer experienced a problem with the brakes.each tim the vehicle was taken tot he dealer the rotors were machined.in addition to the rotor problem the brakes grab when the brake pedal was pressed.the dealer has not been able to correct the problem.
Dt: the consumer stated the braking systemappeared to be inadequate for the weight of the vehicle. The brakes were vibrating. The vehicle was serviced by the dealership. The entire car and the steering wheel vibrated .they said that excessive heat caused the rotors to warp and they had to be ground down. He had this done on 9-27-05. The car only had 7,700 miles on it.updated 11/16/05.
Our 05 lincoln navigator we just purchased about 7-8 months ago.the retractable running boards broke on the driver side rear in the swiveling bushing area.the structure cracked and would not hold it up.i got told there are no parts available for this and its $3,000.00 for a new running board.i am super upset, especially because i purchased this vehicle for my wife's daycare, and while one of the children stepped up on it, it broke; therefore they fell on the ground twisting their ankle. I can't afford to spend $3k on a new running board. I think its insane that there is not replacement parts for this. I cant get the kids in and out on the driver side now.i am so upset.why hasn't someone fixed this. Sounds like it happens to all of them in this year range. No one can afford to fix them.
The contact owns a 2005 lincoln navigator. The contact stated both running boards on the left and right side of the vehicle were covered with rust and corroded. The running boards retract in and out in order to climb into the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who removed the running boards but did not repair the vehicle due to the repair cost which was over $2000. The manufacturer was contacted and stated the reason for the rust and corrosion was due to the contact living in a salt state and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 72,000.the consumer stated it looked as if the metal used was a mild steel plate on 1/8 inch thick and the running boards have rusted away completely.the metal used to make the running boards was not sufficiently strong for normal use nor had it been protected from corrosion.updated 09/27/11updated 9/19/11 updated 2/23/12
2005 lincoln navigator currently with 97000 miles.major frame rust in front end, radiator supports are almost completely rotted through.have read numerous complaints about radiators dropping due to frame rotting.main section of truck frame has a hole in it due to rust as well.frame integrity is compromised and could cause major safety issues.

Air suspension does not work in cold weather below 45 degrees you loose control and bounces have owned car since 2006 lived in fl and had no problems moved to ny and have problem every time temp drops below 45 have spent thousands for repairs that didnt workckecked internet and found out it a problem with 2003-2006 and nobody can fix including ford
Dt*:the contact stated while driving at various speeds the vehicle swerved all over the road.the vehicle was seen by the dealer for inspection of the suspension.a diagnostic test was performed, but did not detect any failure codes.the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the suspension problem.
Vehicle has problems with air ride suspension. This occurs about every two weeks, this causes the vehicle to operate erratically. The dealer tried to fix the problem but it still continues to have issues.
The air suspension system fails to work when cold.its very bouncy and hard to drive safely. I have replaced the height sensors.i've spent over $5000 on repairs in the past 6 months.it still isn't fixed. I've seen numerous complaints on the internet about the samesuspension problems.this is a faulty design.this needs to be recalled.
My 2005 lincoln navigator with only 4000 miles on it, collapsed on the driver side.the dealer towed the car.the diagnostic was that the height sensor failed.they thought it was very unusual.the car has been fixed but now i wonder what caused this to happen and if it will happen again specially on the road with my family in it?i called the dealer and lincoln customer service but they could not answer my question.

Air suspension does not work / inflate when car is cold, there sometimes no warning that the shocks are down and could make driving dangerous. Making car uncontrollable when the car will roll overbumps or uneven terrain pleaseissue a recall for all navigators since 2003 or older with air suspesion shock does not inflate when stationary / does not inflate when in motiontire rubs on fender wall making turns, there is completely no shock absorption when car is on freeway or on surface which makes cehicles very unstable and could cause major accidents if driven by inexperienced or experienced drivers
