Takata recallin march of 2017 i received a letter by mail from the lincoln motor company alerting me of an important safety recall.in october of 2017 i received a legal notice by mail from tk holdings inc. Instructing me to contact my nearest dealership immediately to schedule a free repair. I looked further into the matter via www.airbagrecall.com to verify the status of this recall only to discover "recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available."the reason for this formal complaint is simple. I use this vehicle as my daily driver, more often than not, with passengers. I am simply concerned for the safety of my family, other potential passengers and myself. I registered my email address with tkrestructuring.com/ppic to hopefully be kept informed on the matter.i believe 10 months time from when the recall was released to the public is entirely too long to allow customers to operate a potentially lethal vehicle without remedy. I can only hope that i receive quick and just action to fix this issue before a life altering event could take place. Thank you for, the opportunity to express my concern, as well as your time and effort.sincerely,[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Greeting....on two previous occasions when the vehicle was under warranty it was taken in for service due to the warning indicator/light relative to driver's seat belt/air bag. On both occasions the matter was corrected. However today 12 oct. 2014the vehicle began experiencing the same problem. The first time the tech reported that persons riding behind the driver did/maybe caused the problem because the wiring harness is exposed.the second incident in which the vehicle was taken in i was informed the problem should not occur in the future.that last repair was some 10-15 months ago.however today when the problem light came on there were no one seated behind the driver. It appears there is/was a flaw in the design causing a potential danger to occupants of this vehicle. Each time the vehicle was serviced at fairway lincoln savannah ga. Also please note the dates and mileages are approximately.

Takata recall.i received safety recall notice 16s26/nhtsa recall 16v-384 in july 2016.since i haven't received notice that said repairs could be done, i called my local dealership service department.they stated they have not yet received parts for repairs.this has been 15 months.i don't consider this to be timely.
Takata recall: i am filing a complaint regarding the continued delays by lincoln/ford to resolve my passenger side airbag issue. This has been going on for appx 2 years and is absolutely ridiculous. The nhtsa needs to force them to resolve the issue soon, or have lincoln/ford replace the vehicle. They are dragging their feet. We continue to receive letters that say the solution is coming, but we see no tangible resolution and the date keeps getting pushed out.

Takata recall - i received a recall notice letter from lincoln motor company dated july, 2016.the letter stated my vehicle was identified in the takata air bag recall and that when parts are available i will be notified by letter.it has been over 7 months and still no letter notifying of parts availability or for me to schedule a repair.how much longer before the parts are available?? it is stressful waiting for this repair, especially when i have loved ones riding with me that can be injured or worse due to faulty air-bags.a 7 month wait is a bit ridiculous.also, i've inquired with my local lincoln dealer and have been informed the repair will take 4 hours.lincoln or takata should provide me with a rental while my vehicle is being repaired.i should not have to wait at the dealer 4 hours while the vehicle is repaired due to no fault of my own. Thanks for reading.i look forward to your response/update on this recall. [xxx][xxx] *dlinformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Takata recall purchased a car with open recall living in a hot humid area houston knowing this should be replaced and thinking it could be done after purchase only to find out ford has made zero effort to replace this version in over a year with no date of future repair dealership will not repair it for lack of parts on the garbage bag of death maybe a little more effort needs to made in getting the proper repairs done or the safety hazard mitigated in the time it takes to repair said garbage bag of death a higher liability risk for the company should also be applied to anyone injured while waiting for the claymore to be replaced with an airbagwith a minimum of one million injury to ten million death per occupant policy guaranteed byeach automaker until it makes the vehicle repairs

Takata recall.in the month of july 2016 i received a letter from the lincoln motor company, dated july 2016 stating "when parts become available for safety recall 16s26, the lincoln motor company will notify you via mail to schedule a service appointment with your dealer to have the passenger frontal airbag inflator replaced." two phone calls to dealer on 8/8/16 regarding this matter have not been returned as of 11/9/16.four months seems to be a long time to get this issued corrected as it puts members of my family in harms way anytime i drive the car with a passenger in the front seat.how long is this expected to take for parts to be available and then how long will it take for the dealer to handle the replacement?four months of a known safety hazard not being fixed is too long in my opinion.

"takata recall" - safety recall notice 16s26/nhtsa recall 16v-384first notice letter dated july, 2016- second notice letter dated december, 2017how long before this hazard airbag is replaced?waiting over a year for a replacement of this dangerous airbag is unacceptable.the potential of risk of death/injury is unacceptable. I called ford and was told by the customer service rep. That she "feels its safe", however, her "feeling" its safe for my family to ride in this car with this airbag under recall is not good enough for the safety and well-being of myself and my loved ones. She did not "guarantee" it was safe. Having a potentially dangerous airbag in my vehicle and what could happen should it deploy is causing me a great deal of stress every time i drive this vehicle and/or have my beloved family ride in this vehicle. And, i am growing weary and agitated withthe excessively long wait for a replacement airbag. What action is being done to expedite the replacement airbags in affected vehicles?how much longer must one wait for this to be resolved? please let me know something regarding a timeline for resolution/replacement. I want this airbag replaced asap. Thanks

Takata recall> notice 16s26 / nhtsa recall 16v-384< i was notified by mail of a recall over 5 years ago on the inflator of my passenger airbag but ford had not yet arrived at a decision on how to fix the problem. Notification would be sent when they had a resolution. I began to regularly follow up with dealerships inquiring about the availability of replacement parts for my cars recall, but was repeatedly told they were still waiting for any parts to be provided to them. Recently, july 2018, i received a notice from ford stating that "a repair is available for your vehicle" in big red letters. It goes on stating "parts are now available for your vehicle". Details of recall and instructions for me to schedule my car for service led me to call my local dealer to schedule a free repair. Unfortunately, the service dept informed me they still do not have the replacement airbag modules (as of october 2018) so once again, i am left waiting for a resolution after 5 or more years of waiting. Ford was given more than adequate time to resolve the issue. If the problem was serious enough to prompt a full product recall, and force ford to pay $299.1 million settlement in a class action lawsuit, then it is serious enough that ford shouldn't still have all of the unsafe vehicles waiting for parts.furthermore, for ford to prematurely notify owners that parts are ready for installation in their local dealership serves to prove they don't take the matter seriously (since the vehicles are 10 years old now) and respect for the safety of their customers is not a priority. Please investigate this issue and hold ford accountable by taking action, a deadline should be designated within which ford must furnish parts and begin servicing afflicted vehicles.i believe corporations should be held to a higher legal standard because of their likeliness to cause negligent injury on a massive scale.

I own a 2009 lincoln mkz with only 22,067 miles on it and the electric cooling fan module went out. I was going 10 mph when steam started coming out from right front side of hood. I had the car towed to a repair shop (on a sunday and 200 miles away from home). When car was inspected on sunday, 7/21/13, the thermostat and coolant was replaced.after testing, the car still overheated. I had to leave the car overnight. On monday, july 22, 2013 the testing resumed and it was determined that the electric cooling fan module had failed. Repair shop had to order part from a lincoln dealer (25 miles away). The part was delivered on tuesday, july 23, 2013. After replacement of this part ($1,583.73) the car was tested and available for pickup on wednesday, july 24, 2013. On thursday, july 25, 2013, my nephew drove from clovis, ca. To pismo beach, ca. And picked up my car. I am 72 years old and have purchased lincoln products for years as it has been a reliable product for me. I was 200 miles away from home (clovis, ca.) when the car failed. Since i am on dialysis 3 times a week (monday-wednesday-friday), i had no choice but the incur the cost of a rental vehicle to get me back home for my dialysis care on monday. It is very disappointing to me that a 4 year old car with only 22,067 miles on it, had this kind of failure. I would not expect that from a lincoln product.

When making a right hand turn steering was lost and the engine shut off.the car went into the opposing lane but thankfully there were no cars at the light.after starting the engine again, the steering was working again.took car into lincoln dealership and they could not find anything wrong with the steering but said the throttle body was bad and there was an issue communicating with the pcm.the throttle body and pcm were both replaced.we have not had it occur again.
While driving through an intersection the engine stopped running.my mechanic diagnosed the vehicle as it needing a new cooling fan.the odd part was my engine light never came on, the cool/hot display on the instrument panel never showed it was overheating.i'm currently waiting for the part to arrive to the mechanics shop.the incident happened at night in the middle of an intersection.this could have resulted in a major injury at best, death at worst.
The awd ptu unit needed to be replaced on my car twice in under 85,000 miles and just over 6 years.the first time was at approximately 51,000 miles and the second time was just around 85,000 miles.both times, i noticed a dark oil spot on my cement driveway. The second time, i initially thought it was an oil leak, since i had just had an oil change and didn't make an appointment right away but then realized it was too dark for oil and was actually the ptu unit again. What would have happened if i didn't notice the leaking gear oil and the unit seized while i was driving on the highway? i would have lost control of the car. What kind of serious damage would that have done to the car? to me and others on the road? it's a potential road hazard. What damage has it already done to the transmission that i have to worry about in the future? it seems to be a design flaw in the car.it is speculated that the cause of the repeated failures is due to a too small oil well(under a pint) or that it's placed too close to the catalytic converter that destroys the seal, which then requires the entire unit be replaced at a significant cost.since this has happened twice in 85,000 miles, i am concerned it will happen again.in addition, ford hasn't provided a fix to this problem.i have contacted ford multiple times about them providing a fix or to at least look into it and they've told me they haven't received many complaints about it.i find that hard to believe because if you search on-line, the ptu failing seems to be a common problem withford and lincoln awd cars. Many cars have needed to have it replaced more than once - one up to 5 times. Thank you for your review

On several occasions while owning this car, the brake pedal has gone almost to the floor after activation of the anti-lock brakes.the braking distance increases dramatically while the pedal remains very soft.it eventually (a few hours maybe) returns to normal function.while driving in this condition, it feels as if the car will not stop but it eventually does, but the brake pedal must be pushed almost all the way to the floor.

Nhtsa recall 19v-904
There was a recall issued by ford for my vehicles brakes in december 2019.(manufacturer recall number19s54;nhtsa recall number19v904). This issue has still not been remedied. My last call to their service center i was told that they did not know when the parts would be available to make the repairs but also said they could replace the brakes and charge me over a thousand dollars and ford would reimburse me eventually.
After abs activation on a snowy road, break pedal needs much longer travel to engage brakes than before the abs went off.pedal feels spongy and requires much greater distance before the brakes feel like they begin to apply.multiple abs stops, 100 mile of travel and a day of not driving it have not made the problem any better.car is 2009 mkz with 81000 miles.
We were sent a recall notice on the auto brake system january 2020. Local lincoln dealer doesn't have parts to repair as of october 2020. The abs light has came on right about the time of notification. Keep getting told that parts are not available to repair on the recall. If i wanted to pay for it then they could repair the problem. This is not satisfactory. Do i need to notify a better business bureau or what do i need to do to get the repair on breaks which could be a safety hazzard?

5/18/20 took car for inspection-failed because of brakes.garage could not fixtowed to dealership.they could not fix.tell us not drivable.been sitting there ever since.car has 30016 miles.as of this date havenot been notified of recall and cannot be told why or when parts will be available. What recourse do i have
Took my car in for recall #19v904 said could not fix because the ecu was also bad, it had just went out my problem is that ford will not fix therecall if i don't pay them 777.00 to fix the ecu first, and i thik they should because it's all tied together i.e. The very same system
Leaking brakes had to be fixed twice before recalled parts were available.when the last repair was done, dealership said they would reimburse us (since we paid full price) recalled parts labor that we had to pay for since they were on the recall.this has never happened even though we have tried multiple times to remedy.dealership says they sent in paperwork to ford twice for the reimbursement as they don't do that.ford motor company says they dont do it that it is up to the dealer.in summary, recalled brakes were finally repaired but we had to pay full price for them though it says parts and labor would be free.

The inner door handle asy doesn't open from the inside.
The door handle on the driver side door broke, which would not allow the locking mechanism to work..unable to lock the car door either manually or by using the remote fob.was able to open & close the door, just could not lock it.this happened while the vehicle was stationary.i understand this same problem exists on the ford fusion. We had the part replaced today at the cost of $113.01.
Door handles (inside) dysfunctional after normal usage. I have replaced both driver and passenger door handles after they both quit opening the doors. Now both driver side doors need replaced again. This presents danger in the event of needing to exit the vehicle due to accident or emergency. I can potentially see risk of death of me and or my passengers due to this faulty equipment.

Due to poor wheel construction, the chrome plating on the lincoln oem wheels flakes off resulting in a failure of the tire to seal properly against the wheel. This failure to seal against the wheel causes a progressively worse air leak on every wheel. If an owner of this car is not aware or observant of the constantly declining air pressure, they could drive on dangerously under inflated tires, and potentially experience catastrophic tire failure. In particular, the wheels on my mkz leak to such an extent that every morning, i have to go outside and pump them up to the proper psi. Buying new lincoln wheels would result in the same problem as they are all affected by the same manufacturing defect. Many owners have resulted to buying aftermarket wheels, which i see as unacceptable as the original wheels should function properly and remain reliable for the life of the vehicle.
