Takata recall. Got recall notice in the mail for a faulty airbag. Went to dealership where vehicle was purchased, and listed as a dealership capable of fixing the issue on the takata recall website, and they informed me they didn't nor were they going to have the replacement parts in stock any time soon. I want this issue fixed, free of charge, before an accident occurs.

Takata recall. I was notified by mail june 1 2016 that my car was involved in the takata airbag recall. To date i have still not been notified by mail that parts are available to fix my car. I have called both ford and lincoln customer service and they informed me that i am in region b and parts have not been distributed yet. Both lincoln and ford websites state it is presumed safe to drive the car. This recall inflicts deathly harm on people. I am experiencing high anxiety driving. I have contacted my local dealerships who again state they have no parts and ford has not authorized them to distribute safe rental cars until parts are available. I asked both ford and lincoln for a loaner vehicle until my car is fixed they both said no. Other car manufacturers have given drivers a safe vehicle to drive in. It should be mandatory ford/lincoln provides us with a safe car!it has been 10 months since i was notified and i still have no estimated date of parts being available. Until then i am stuck driving my dangerous potentially deadly vehicle. Please help me!

Notified of airbag safety recall nhtsa 19v-001, safety recall notice 19s01 yet, i have attempted many times to make an appointment with planet lincoln/planet ford in humble and woodlands, tx. Takata recall.i want to remove the recall airbag and was told i couldn't.i think if i was put on notice of the safety recall then i should be able to do what is necessary to make my vehicle safe.i do not feel comfortable driving this vehicle.

Takata recall, the airbag light on the passenger side suddenly illuminated without anything triggering it while i was driving to work. It shows that the passenger airbag is off due to having some kind of weight on the seat. But there is nothing on the seat at all when the light illuminated. It is still on and stayed on. I read about the recall for the takata airbags and i read the the airbag can explode during a crash and that defeats the purpose of having an airbag. It's supposed to save lives and not take them away. I would like to get this fixed and resolved before winter comes in full effect and to avoid additional problems if an accident do occur.

I purchased a lincoln mkz in 2015 and in 2016, i received a letter from ford about a recall on my lincoln passenger side frontal airbags. 2 years later and monthly phone calls about repair and i constantly get the run around that the parts are not in yet. Solution is to not put passenger up front, which is not a viable solution. I either want my car repaired or a replacement. I did not buy a 5 person premium car to only be told it is now a 4 seater.this is extremely unacceptable and i would like help with what i am legally able to do.

Takata recall - notice of "recall" received 7/29/16 to which lincoln motor company stated that there is no remedy available. In researching it was found that the company predicted that a resolution would be available through 2019 by state in which it was noted that my state, california, was not even listed.i suggested that a comparable loaner be made available or dealer authorization be expedited to disable the air bag. Lincoln response dated 8/5/16 was received 8/13/16 in which the company merely stated "at this point, the guidelines for this recall do not include a loaner vehicle".in that the company did not elaborate on "the guidelines" nor respond to whether or not the legislation to disable the bag has been legislated i am in receipt of a non-response and certainly see that this is not anything that could be considered a "recall".further does the company and nhtsa expect the owner of these vehicles to continue to drive and occupy these lethal vehicles?

We are continually receiving letters about not having the recall taken care of. However, we have been told that there is no loaner available or are under a long list of other owners waiting, or the parts will take a few days. I tried calling the nhtsa hotline and both times the call was disconnected after pickup. This is all very frustrating and scary to have to drive a car with a potential fatal defect everyday and at long distances. There should be an alternative through rental car businesses or individual insurance to ensure the safety of the drivers.

Takata recall- have been promised a replacement for years. I cannot let anyone sit in the front passenger seat. The amount they offered me for a trade in was half what i could have received from two buyers. However, when i told them about the airbag, the deal fell through.

Takata recall. Received notice july 2016. As of 3/21/2017 no movement on problem. 1. What's to stop lincoln from letting this recall go until they find it cheaper to offer me money for car vs fixing? this is a garage kept, 42,000 mile car in perfect condition. 2. Because it is garage kept and has been, are the probabilities lower for a problem if bag goes off?3. It's wrong that i can't feel comfortable driving my wife and grandkids around in the car. It's almost a worthless car, which goes back to #1.4. Know they need to sell cars to have money, but there should be a better balance and at some point they need to have new car sales shutdown.%. That thought aside, it is criminal that it took lincoln 20 months to determine they had the affected airbags in this vehicle and alert the owners of said vehicles. It has now been 5 months since i received the letter. During this time period i have contacted the company many times and never have they been able to offer any information whatsoever. It has been over 2 years since they determined the airbag in my vehicle can kill my pregnant wife if ever deployed. This is completely unacceptable. My specific vehicle is 8 years old and i live in the panhandle of florida. Considering those two factors i am in the highest risk category. How have i not been contacted to have this fixed? at the very least, why have i not been offered a loaner vehicle while they figure out how to solve the problem? it certainly feels like lincoln is considering my wife's life a financial risk they are willing to take. The way this has been handled is inconceivable. Please have lincoln look to make my vehicle a priority. I am an active duty service member who will be relocating across the country in march 2017 and am highly concerned that at any point during the drive my wife and unborn child may be killed by a known issue.

Takata recall.it has been almost two years.i can't put anyone in the front passenger seat of my lincoln.i have to drive my grandchildren and adults in this car at the same time.

"takata recall"i was notified in june 2016. Lincoln has not made repairsas yet.what's taking so long?

I am having a really hard time getting this air bag replaced with a local dealership the only dealership in radius. Mtn view lincoln ford chattanooga, tn. This is the only vehicle i drive and i advised them i would need a loaner while this repair is being done. The first time i called with a cs representative on the phone they advised me they didn't have a part but could order it. I asked about a loaner the rep told me only the service manager can approve that and i was sent to his desk where i left a message. I didn't receive a call back. (there is a google review regarding my experience). After receiving yet another recall notice last week i dreadfully attempted to schedule an appointment to get this fixed. Which was today at 7:45, last week i expressed again the need for a loaner the guy who answered the phone advised me they had 40 loaners out but he can see what he can do. Today i arrived waited 20 mins and todd comes to my vehicle i advised them what i was there for and he stated there are no loaners but he will give me a call and update me. No one has called me.

I have received two notices by mail from tk holdings. First notice said there were no replacement airbags available yet and to wait for second notice. Second notice is of them filing bankruptcy and to contact my local dealer for free repair. I contacted witt lincoln and they said they do not have replacement parts. How do i get free airbag replacement? i have not had an accident but need to get this fixed before i do.

The federal warranty for this state is 8 years or 80k miles. The car has 47k miles and the 8 year warranty ended 1 month and 20 days ago. Lincoln will not stand behind their product to even prorate an amount to help him. This is the vehicle he uses to get to dr appts. Bought this car from a lincoln dealer ship in norman, oklahoma.later moved to texas to be closer to my daughter.the car had not done this before, but one night while i was at their house, walked out and the car started by its self.several times i have been shopping and have come out and my sun-roof and all of my windows are down.this has happened several times since.i regularly take it to a lincoln dealer here in houston.i have asked them several times what the problem is, and they say that it is related to the programmed key, and their is nothing they can do about it.i am 78 years old, and having this happen in the houston area is really a safety factor.have tried to manipulate the key to try and make theses things happen, but to no avail.a gentlemen that resides where i live now recently came up to my apartment and wanted to know if i knew that my sun-roof and windows were down.every dealership that i have taken it too does not seem to know what the problem is.only that is related to the key.i need help solving this problem.i can only guess at the date when it first happened.

I was proceeding down a ramp to enter highway traffic.i put my foot to the floor to merge into traffic and the vehicle continued to accelerate even after i took my foot off the gas.i put my foot on the brake and the vehicle continued to accelerate. I was unable to slow down to any great extent as the engine was racing.the accelerator pedal seem to be off the floor ( not stuck to the floor ) at the time.i would estimate that my speed was 85 mph when i put the shifter into neutraland stopped the car in the breakdown lane.at this time the engine was revving so high, i thought for sure the engine would blow.before i had the presence of mind to shut the engine off, the engine stopped revving and went back to an idle.the brakes were smoking but there did not seem to be any other damage.i checked the floor mat and it was not near the accelerator pedal.we were on vacation at the time and about 600 miles from home so i continued the to drive but not putting the gas pedal to the floor.i took the vehicle to the lincoln dealer three days later and they found no codes and nothing that would allow the accelerator to stay stuck.the invoice indicates that they performed koeo, koer, and oasis and all systems passed...updated 06/09/14updated06/13/2014

Our vehicle is subject to nhtsa recall 19v-904. In 2020, lincoln stopped repairing vehicles subject to this recall. Unfortunately, my vehicle is suffering from this brake problem and i have lost use of my brakes on several occasions. On june 26, 2020, my brakes failed resulting in a property damage accident. After body damage repair, my brakes have again failed. The local ford dealership finally agreed to examine the vehicle and found that the brake failure was related to the recall.nevertheless, in addition to the thousands paid to repair mine and the other party's vehicle's damage, i've had to pay the local ford dealership $1093.80 to fix the car. The brake failure is dangerous and potentially deadly. Lincoln's delay in remedying the issue is the direct cause of my car accident.

Chrome wheels did not use nickel undercoat and chrome peeled off causing air leaks and differential would moan from uneven tire pressure; bought 4 new after market wheels for $775 and solved problem.front driving lights allowed water to penetrate from vent in wheel well causing to fill up with water and shorted out connectors. Covered vent holes. Rewired connector and water proofed the lighting assemblies but they are still very hazy from water damage. Dealer wanted $1,200 to replace them and said it is common. After market replacements cost $350 to $500 each; problem still not resolved and make an otherwise very pretty car look like cheep crap.very nice car; stupid ford problems.

The passenger side headlight allows water to leak into it and therefore shorts out electrical items.so far i have had issues with my battery, the starter fuse, and the tail light fuse.replacing the headlight assembly is the only way for me to have taillights again on this vehicle.i was almost rear ended on the freeway one night because my taillight fuse shorted out during the drive.the water in the head light accumulated over time, so i cannot pinpoint exactly when the seal broke, but there is no repairing the seal.i've been on many vehicle forums and have had discussions with many owners with the same problem with their passenger side headlight collecting water.

Driver side front seat heater do not work, but passenger front seat do work. Passenger side low beam light stopped working.

After repairing brakes at my cost many times now they are recalled. I had to replace the lincoln wheels at my cost after researching that many problems were reported. Upon braking my brake pedal goes to the floor and i hear the abs .the vehicle slightly slows. The pedal remains spongy. Ford does think it could be the "hcu". According to department of transport problemthat hcu may be sticking open. This happens every time a heavy application is made when road surface is wet.

Hpu has recall on it for brakes. My hpu failed once already. Lincoln dealership referred me to lincoln. Recall is sometime next quarter when they have parts. Lincoln will not repair or provide loaner for now and told me to drive at own risk.i was approaching a stop when problem manifested itself. I was barely able to stop car and miss the car in front of me. Reported problem immediately. I don't think it responsible to drive a car with a known problem. It is my only means of transportation. Dealership opened sssc( lincoln reporting mechanism) on vehicle.brake pedal went soft and to the floor but eventually did get it stopped. Vehicle wont stop in required stopping distance as per design and supply thereof. I am a very experienced driver but other drivers are unlikely to be able to respond appropriately. Had to wait for answer from office located in india! this is a deliberate unsafe act by lincoln. What can i do. I am on fixed disability and must have transportation.

Very soft brake pedal

After abs function operates i have a lower than usual pedal travel. The brake pedal goes 3/4 of the way to the floor.after several hours of not using the vehicle the pedal will be back to normal. This condition has happened to me 3 times preceding abs activation.

My brakes have excessive brake pedal travel with a lot of noise. I took my mkz to the dealer paid for all new brakes 4 months before the recall letter came. I had to return my car 3 times telling them something was not right ! after i received the safety recall notice 19s54/ntsa recall 19v-904 in jan 20 i was told i could pay for the parts and service because they didn't have the parts to do it ? what ?if i could pay they clearly could make my car safe and fix it with the recall protocol. When i called in april it was due to covid -19, they couldn't get the parts. I was told to wait on a letter, it's now aug.1, way past the late first quarter of 2020. Still driving my car with my child in it hoping the brakes do not cause me to have an accident.

Tonight when i was driving home, i came to a red light. When i hit the brakes, the brakes made a weird sound, hit almost to the floor and would not stop the car. I pressed off the brake and pressed it again and it went to the floor again, but not as much and eventually stopped the car. I pulled over and kept testing the brakes again and it was still going to the floor but the eventually stopped. Luckily i was about 5 minutes from home so i did not have to drive much farther. When i got home, i went online to look up the issue and i found other people inquiring about the same issue. Some people spent a lot of money and the issue was still not properly resolved. I think this common issue needs to be reviewed, and a recall issued since brakes play a significant role in the safety of a car. If i was not on an empty road or if i had a car right in front of me,i could have had a car accident today because i could not stop the car right away. I ended up practically in the middle of the intersection.

Abs engaged on snowy road.now, brake pedal is extremely soft/spongy...does not engage until pedal is fully depressed.county road.straight-line stop.replaced brake master cylinder and performed factory pressure/service bleed.cause is certain to be the historically faulty abs hcu/control module.

Break pedal will go to the floor this always happens when driving. Breaks will work but very scary to drive. This has happened 3 times in the last year. It was taken to the dealer each time with no resolve. All break, traction control, emg brakes lights came on dealer said its a hydrolic control unit $1500.00. Another repair station hooked it up and it came back with a b1342, occupant system module. I had just had the air bag fixed due to recall. I was told this occupant module will control/malfunction other areas of the auto.

My car is effected by the recall, it losses brakes periodically and next to impossible to stop sometimes. Is there anything i can do about this till the manufacturer is able to fix it? this is my only means of transportation...

When driving the brakes started getting softer as you pressed the break pedal but the car would stop at first. Then a week later the right front break would activate the abs and pull to the right every time you stop. Three mechanics looked at it for 45 minutes. Breaks , rotors, master cylinder, all were fine. No fluid loss, abs light, or codes. Had to replace the hydraulic control unit as some valves were stuck open. Looking online i saw many others had this same problem. So i reported this

On multipleoccasions, i have experienced intermittent issues with the brake pedal. While my foot was on the brake pedal attempting to stop on city streets the pedal would continue to drop down to the floor; i had to apply the emergency brake for the vehicle to stop. No warning lights have ever illuminated as the failure occurred. My vin confirms parts are not available & i have never been contacted by ford motor company pertaining this recall.

After an abs braking event the brake pedal is now soft and spongy and exhibits excessive travel.brakes still function effectively.brakes will "pump up" harder with an additional pedal stroke.

Car was moving hit bump in road and brake pedal went to floor.thinking problem was brake pads and calipers had front and read pads and calipers installed still low brake pedal.went to lincoln dealer had brake flush preformed by lincoln dealer, report came back it was my hydraulic control module costing $1,306 plus taxlabor is separate cost.had car appraised at lincoln dealer i brought car from apprasilcame back $ 3,300 dollars. Part is half current value of car.still paying for car . Car was priced at approximately $7800.in the first year almost starting second year of 4 year loan.feeling very helpless also dealer who preformed brake flush and diagnosis says car is unsafe to drive have the results from dealer in writing.

Our abs activated on ice/snow.now, must push the brake pedal to the floor to get the car to stop.

Excessive brake pedal travel or soft pedal which requires greater foot force to insure safe stopping.this occurs when the car is in motion.

The contact owns a 2008 lincoln mkz. The contact received a notification in the mail for a recall under nhtsa campaign number: 19v904000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The contact spoke with manufacturer where she was informed that the part was not available for the recall. The manufacturer was unable to answer her questions regarding the recall. The contact stated that on previous occasions, she had experienced intermittent issues with her brake pedal. The contact stated that while her foot was on the brake pedal, the pedal would continue to slope down to the floor; the contact had to apply the emergency brake for the vehicle to stop. No warning lights illuminated as the failure occurred. The failure mileage was unknown.vin tool confirms parts not available.

Driving down a city street my vehicle hit a pot hole in the road. This was not a very deep hole, just a normal incident you would see when driving. After hitting the pot hole the brake pedal would go almost completely to the floor. It was very dangerous to stop. The problem would gradually correct itself usually after several days of driving.

Brakes spontaneously went soft, during travel (30 mph?). Changed master cylinder which seemed to resolve issue. Couple of weeks later, happened again uwhile in motion.master cylinder changed 2nd time under warranty.happened third time within weeks traveling about 50 mph.the third time, it happened upon application of brakes (not aggressive) which caused abs activation.pulse was felt in brake pedal and immediately brakes pedal went soft (almost to floor).pumping brake pedal firmed the brakes.couple of days later, tested abs on gravel road by aggressive braking, abs activation and brakes went soft immediately during the action.pumping up brakes resulted in firming, at top of brake pedal travel without slowing vehicle then into soft travel through 3/4 travel until firmed again at bottom of travel. Concern is that in the event of emergency braking which activates abs, typical braking changes to 'soft pedal' (belief of failed brakes) and potential for panic and resulting collision.dealer tested system today (10/03/2018) and could not diagnose any problem.no dash light was ever activated in any of the events described. No brake fluid leak detected, no loss of brake fluid.

Need my recalls to be fixed in my vehicle

Driving on highway at posted speed limit of 65mph and brakes failed. Brake pedal went all the way to the floor. Pedal to the floor happened three separate times during the same trip. Vehicle was extremely difficult to stop and brakes locked up. Vehicle began sliding. Brake failure due to anti-lock braking system failure. This pertains to recall nhtsa 19v-904.i had the car towed to a lincoln dealership and service technician said the problem has to do with the recall.my car is extremely unsafe to drive and the recall parts are not available yet. Lincoln is not paying for an interm repair nor offering rental cars. I have been without my car for 13 days. Lincoln should be more concerned with this recall and be paying for interm repairs.

My 2008 lincoln mkz has a diminished braking capability after an abs event on the snow a few days ago.the abs cycle worked, then my pedal has an extra inch or 2 of travel and feels unsafe.this is the third incident like this with the car in the 5 years i have owned after buying it certified pre-owned from ford.when i research the problem on line, i see multiple cases in the 2006 to 2008 lincoln mkz/zephr, the ford fusion and the mercury milan.all of the on-line reports say the only fix is to replace the hydraulic control valve for the abs system.none of appears to be covered by ford.i am taking mine to the local ford dealer tomorrow to have them look at mine and drive it while it is acting up.i feel something as critical to the safe braking of the vehicle that appears to be a chronic model problem ought to be addressed by ford.the part is expensive to replace and should be done by qualified service.

Soft and long travel brake peddle, occasionally peddle will travel all the way to the floor. Scary stopping. Intermittent peddle travel. Sometimes corrected with heavy pumping. Never know which brake peddle will occur. Spongy peddle feel can occur on stopping and can also be felt when in park or coming to a stop. Wife crashed into garage.

Recall on brakes, no remedy available at this time. Have to replace both the front and back brakes as they are slipping and making extremely loud scratching noises. Brake pedal has gone to the floor twice with no brakes on the highway

Was driving on a non-highway road about 45mph when i was coming up to a stop light. My brakes felt like they completely just gave out! pedal went straight to the floor, there was no firmness or resistance on the brake pedal. I had to swerve and almost ended up in on coming traffic. It seems as though this is not a priority until there is a fatality!

Went to stop in winter conditions and the brake pedal went to the floor.almost rear ended the car at the stop sign, had to go to the shoulder to avoid hitting them.now the abs, traction control, and brake system light come on as soon as i reach 15 mph.i have had all the rotors, calipers, and break pads replaced.still having the same issue.

Encountered extended brake pedal range and pressure required to properly apply brakes after engaging abs while driving on slippery surface.following incident, brake fluid reservoir checked full, and condition continued.

May of 2021 will mark two years since i began having issues with my 2008 lincoln mkz abs system. Lincoln officially issued a recall about my specific vehicle in january 2020. It is unacceptable for a fix to not yet have been established for this. I cannot sell my car as no one will buy it with the issue and i cannot trade my car for another one because the dealerships cannot sell the trade to a customer due to the recall. I am being held hostage by a car i cannot drive in inclement weather due to the abs system not functioning properly.

The contact owns a 2008 lincoln mkz. While the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle experienced unintended acceleration. As a result, the vehicle was involved in a front end collision. A police report was not filed. The failure occurred without warning. The contact stated that the failure previously occurred twice. The vehicle was still operable. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. There were no injuries. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

When abs engages, the brake pedal becomes really squishy, and has to be pushed to the floor in order to stop the vehicle. Doesn't feel like it would be able to stop in emergency situation. Has been happening for years, but hasn't been an issue in dry california. Note california is wet, and it happens all the time. Abs seems overly eager to engage, and this condition takes days before brake pedal seems normal again.

I was driving on sr 441 when a vehicle in front of me struck the median. I hit the brake pedal and the brakes did not respond. The vehicle was taken to al packer ford (towed). The dealer replaced the master cylinder. On or about april 15, my son as operating the same vehicle when he needed to stop quickly. My son hit the brakes and they did not respond. No collision occurred at this time.

The brake and gas pedals on my lincoln mkz are located so close to each other and at the same height that i have twice experienced acceleration instead of braking when putting on the brakes because i did not move my foot enough to clear the gas pedal. I have inquired to my dealer about making an adjustment to the brakes pedal height or spacing but was advised that this could not be done. This design is an "accident waiting to happen" and i am lucky that in bothinstances i was able to react in time to avoid one. If this has not already been brought to the attention of the manufacturer, nhtsa should do so before someone is seriously hurt.

Without warning, the driver's door would not open.i was trapped in the vehicle. The only way to exit the car was to roll down the window and use the exterior handle. The vehicle had not been in an accident and is in good working condition. There was no prior warning that the door handle was worn or had a defect. I have disassembled the door and i see that an interior section of the interior door handle has fractured. This section acts as a cam to pull the cable that opens the door. It is a poor design because the plastic is in pure tension and allows a crack to catastrophically propagate. I belive this is a serious safety hazard because it traps an occupant in the vehicle without warning. Many failure mode effects analysis events assume the driver can exit the car to receive a low score.this makes several other possible failure modes much more dangerous.

The low tire pressure sensor warning light came up as we pulled away from the dealership and never quit lighting up, regardless of the number of times we took the car to dealers to have the issue fixed. The car was purchased as used, with 43,000 miles in march 2012. Apparently, the mechanics at irwin lincoln dealership in nj are clueless, and the only remedy seems to be the purchase of new wheels, at a cost of roughly $2,000. Otherwise, the car is in great shape, but the sensor problem is extremely annoying.

The contact owns a 2008 lincoln mkz. The contact stated that the tire pressure monitoring system indicator illuminated continuously. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who stated that all four tires exhibited low tire pressure due to the severely rusted rims. The four tires were inflated to the proper air pressure on numerous occasions; however, the failure recurred every two weeks. The rims were not replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000.

Tire pressure goes down quickly.i set tire pressure and within 2 days the tire pressure warning light comes on.vehicle becomes un stable at speed and is difficult to control.i was driving and it was difficult to control the direction of the vehicle all of a sudden. My mechanic says the chrome finish on the wheels has corroded at the bead areas where the tire mounts and causes fast tire pressure loss.these are factory wheels.

The floor mats would get stuck on gas pedal it happened when driving.

This is my fathers car. He is a wwii vet and just shy of 98 years old. We just replaced an ac on the car, and now the computer has failed and need replacing. The federal warranty for this state is 8 years or 80k miles. The car has 47k miles and the 8 year warranty ended 1 month and 20 days ago. Lincoln will not stand behind their product to even prorate an amount to help him. This is the vehicle he uses to get to dr appts. I find it hard to swallow there lack of compassion for him and their product.

Takata recall my driver's side floor mat moved and getting caught up by brake

The vent on my 2008 lincoln mkz is popping up away from the dash and the dash is buckeling.i believe this is a defect in the clips because it was at the ford dealership and they said the clips were wore out.. How do clips were out on a dash.the car is not very old for this to happen.just want to see if there are other owners out there experiencing the same problem.

Driver's interior door handle does not open the door.must lower power window and open from outside.if in a serious accident, this could have deadly consequences.

Car knocks and jolts when shifting, won't shift gears while accelerating.

The contact owns a 2008 lincoln mkz. While driving 30 mph the vehicle accelerated. The contact attempted to engage the brake pedal; however, the vehicle did not slow down. The contact was forced to use the emergency brake and the vehicle slowed down slightly and did not stop completely. The contact made a right turn, engaged the emergency brake again and forced the gear shift into park to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a lincoln dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and stated that there was nothing wrong with it. The dealer wanted the contact to ride with him during a test drive and the contact didn't feel safe in the vehicle. The contact no longer wants the vehicle. The manufacturer should be responsible for any damages that might occur while driving the vehicle. The failure mileage was 14,400. Tires constantly going flat because of rim.i would never purchase another lincoln ever

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 lincoln mkz. The contact stated that the oem rims prematurely caused the air to leave the tires. The contact had to constantly add air to the tires. The vehicle was taken to two dealers (summerville ford, 9700 dorchester rd, summerville, sc 29485, (877) 477-1434) and (palmetto ford, 1625 savannah hwy, charleston, sc 29407, (843) 571-3673). The dealers indicated that the oem rims needed to be replaced. In addition, the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags) and was unable to determine when the remedy and parts would be supplied to the dealer. The failure mileage was not available. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

The chrome coating on the aluminum wheels started peeling and the air was let out of the tires. One tire had explosive decompressionwhen the chrome peeled. If the vehicle had been traveling at even a moderate rate of speed the results could have been deadly. When the wheel loses air and sidewall integrity while moving the tire could just peel off the rim.i had to have the rim bead area sanded down to re seat the tire. The chrome continues to peel. This appears to be a common problem that lincoln does not want to deal with.

After spending over 3,500$ on noises while turning and having replaced the tiresbecause the tire was constantly going flat the 17" 8 spoke machined & painted aluminum wheel began to corrode and peel. Two of the tires leaked air around the contact of the rim and tire because of the corrosion. This condition requires having the wheel taken apart and corrosion removed then reassembling the wheel and re-balancing the tire assembly before re-installing back on to car.i have averaged servicing these tires from once a week to once a month depending on the time of year for the last three years and have had to purchase more tires in order compensate for the ware on the tire when having to drive with under inflated tires while trying to safely navigate to the nearest air pump sometimes on a daily basis!the car dealer is aware. This is a safety violation!!the out of pocket cost to continuously have these tires replaced, repaired. The poor gas mileage has brought the actual cost of this car upwards of 43,000.00:(

I have owned my lincoln mkz for 3 years. Almost immediately after i purchased the car the chrome on the wheels began to peel. Shortly after the pealing began the rims developed a small loss of air due to the corroding wheels requiring me to check the tire pressure at least once a week and fill at least two tires with air every week to achieve a safe level of operation. The dealer will do nothing to help resolve this problem other than to sell me very expensive replacement wheels. After three years the problem has become significantly worse causing me to fill my tires with air every time i drive it. The chrome on the wheels look awful with the peeling and sharp edges caused by the peeling chrome. Even the dealer is shocked ford has not issued a recall or addressed this. This is a well know safety issue which ford has refused to recognize. I have received a response for ford (see attached) indicating they would not assist me with the repair. My concern is safety. This is a safety issue not only for me but for the general driving public. I hope you will address this issue with ford before something significant happens and someone is seriously hurt.

The contact owns a 2008 lincoln mkz.the contact stated that the chrome on all four wheels was flaking off and as a result the aluminum was causing lack of tire pressure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated there was no recall and offered no assistance. The manufacturer was notified who referred him to the dealer for inspection. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who sealed the rims as a temporary remedy. The failure mileage was 41,800.

The contact owns a 2008 lincoln mkz. The contact stated that all four tires had experienced multiple occasions of air deflation. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the inner rim of the aluminum wheel was corroded and damaged the inside of the tires causing air to exit the tires. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000. The vin was not available.

Safety hazard-chrome wheels corroding and flaking. Frequent loss of air pressure pre-mature wear of tires.

The contact owns a 2008 lincoln mkz. The contact stated that the rear drivers side rim was rusted to the point of corrosion causing damage to the rear drivers side tire. The contact mentioned that the tire constantly had to be inflated. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, who diagnosed that the rim and the tire needed to be replaced. The tire and rim were replaced but the failure recurred. The contact stated that the other three rims had rust and corrosion. The contact stated that all four tires were replaced and that the three rims may also deteriorate. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

The contact owns a 2008 lincoln mkz. The contact stated that air was continuously leaking from all four tires causing the tire pressure monitoring system to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the inner edge of the chrome wheels began to detiorate and pieces of chrome chipped off causing air to leak from the tires. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin was not available. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 26,000.

The chrome coating on the wheels is defective and flakes off.this does not allow the tires to seat properly with the wheels, causing them to lose pressure.eventually this can damage the tires by having them repeatedly driven under the recommended pressures.numerous attempts by my tire dealer to remedy the situation, under their warranty, have been frustrating as the issue is not of their making.i have researched this issue on a number of lincoln mkz forums and this is a common complaint among owners.

I purchased a 2008 lincoln mkz with 15998 miles on the odometer in july 2012 from a dealer.shortly after winter began the wheels starting to bubble and peel.they are now starting to fall apart.it is causing issues with vibration while driving and air loss in the tires.i have seen numerous complaints about these wheels but lincoln/ford will not stand behind them because my car is 5 years old even though it is still under 30k miles.

The wheels chrome is corroding and flaking making the air leak from the tire. Wheels are becoming unsafe and in a short period of time.

After repairing brakes at my cost many times now they are recalled. I had to replace the lincoln wheels at my cost after researching that many problems were reported. Also with only 65,000 miles on my car my transmission is out. I have had many electrical issues. It is clear that major issues is on the this model year. While driving my transmission failed. I towed the car to dealership and they want to now charge 4400.00 for the transmission. I am out of money with this vehicle and it was clearly poorly manufactured.

These wheels are identified as 17" 8 spoke machined & painted aluminum wheel which began to corrode and peel around 2011. They leak air around the contact of the rim and tire because of the corrosion. This condition requires having the wheel taken apart and corrosion removed then reassembling the wheel and re-balancing the tire assembly before re-installing back on to car. Depending on several conditions as climate and temperature and when tire assembly last serviced air loss varies from 10% to more than 30% from manufacturer 's suggested tire inflation pressure. I have averaged servicing these four tires at least 6 times or more a year for the last three years. I have contacted both the car dealer and ford motor co. The dealer says it is up to ford to put out a recall for replacement wheel. The dealer agreesthere is a problem, but ford motor co. Does not consider this a problem. I consider this condition a safety violation not to mention the out of pocket cost to continuously have these tires repaired. It affects my gas mileage, tire longevity, and most importantly safety. Please help those of us with this situation. Thank you.

Tire wheel rims have chrome lifting off resulting in low tire pressure. Lost 10 percent tire pressure in 30 days.

Left rear wheel had chrome flake off at the point of attachment to the tire causing air leak in oct 2015. Wheel was replaced. Right front wheel had chrome flake at the tire seal causing tire low pressure. Dealer recommends replacing wheel. Car has approx. 54000 miles. The loss of air in the tires is sensed by the tire pressure indicator. If tires are inflated it takes about three days until the sensor light comes back on.

When i purchased my 2008lincoln awd mkz, new tires were part of the "deal".from the very beginning one tire (drivers side rear) was losing air.i went back to the dealer and they couldn't determine the problem.i have been back and forth to the dealer constantly ever since the purchase of my mkz.at one point the dealer sent me to an independent tire company.they looked at the tire in question and i was told that the tire will not "bead" to the rim because of the flaking of the chrome on the rim.they did put a sealant on the areas but it was a temporary fix.now i'm having a problem with the drivers side front wheel losing air.when the weather is cooler, the air leak is slower, during warm weather, the loss is faster.in the past two weeks i have had air added to the tires at least once each week.with all the complaints about the wheels/rims that are posted, what, if anything, will ford/lincoln do about the problem?i'm proud of my lincoln and with all the commercials about ford standing behind their vehicles why are we still having a problem?

Chrome plating is flaking off, and tires consistently lose air pressure.i contacted ray price ford in stroudsburg, pa and they said this sometimes happens, but not a warranty issue.i contacted my tire person and he tried to brush off the excess chrome around seal to get a bead, but no luck.a new wheel is around $400, so i got a used one.similar issues, butnot as frequent.however, other wheels are beginning to have the same issue (losing air pressure).a set of new wheels would be over $1500, which is not a viable option. Very disappointed with a 'high quality' manufacturer (lincoln).

Air pressure issues on 3 of my tires. The rim?s chrome plating is flaking off, and tires consistently lose air pressure. I contacted my dealer, but not a warranty issue. I purchased this auto new and it has always has been garaged. I do live in the boston area so do have extreme weather. This is a quality issue and a driving hazard. A recall should be issued to remedy this situation.

Car was bought new in 2008 from local ford/lincoln dealer, dempewolf ford, henderson, ky, and always garage kept and dealer serviced. Tires begain to loose air pressure several months ago. When examined by purcell tire, henderson, ky, they said that chrome was flaking off leaving a pitted surface and that bead would not seal against pitted surface. Car is equipt with optional chrome plated 17" wheels. Tires become seriously underinflated weekly. I have just had purcell apply bead sealer but they say it is probably not a long term fix. They say that only solution is new wheels.

The chrome rims on our 2008 lincoln mkz began flaking and corroding.this problem did not begin until after the original tires were replaced in 2013.originally the problem occurred in the colder months, requiring refills every 4 weeks.now the problem is occurring in the warmer months and more frequently.rapid deflations have left a tire completely flat on several occasions. The issue is known as this database shows.ford refuses to acknowledge and address.

The wheels on my2008 lincoln mkz are corroding to the point that the tires are loosing air.i have had to have the tires taken off the wheels several times and cleaned the rim only to have it continue to corrode and leak air again.it is ruining my tires and it is a safety hazard not knowing how quickly the tires will go flat.my mkz has only 48,000 miles and has been properly maintained. I have tried to deal with lincoln, but they are no help.i love my mkz but am very disappointed with lincoln.

Retired us army veteran,,,,bought car used in 2010 with approx. 25,0000 miles from a dealer. It has chrome wheels. At approx 50,000 miles & 2015, the chrome on the wheels started peeling and i started getting low tire pressure warnings from slow leaking. Took it to the dealer< ( always dealer serviced) they said the rim is corroding and they have to remove the wheel and tire, break down the tire off the rim, grind the carrotion off the rim, put sealer on it and reinstall and rebalance the tire.its not warranteed, so cost me $35and took 1/2 hr.since then i have had the other 3 wheels do the same.i was quoted $845 to replace all 4 chrome wheels with alumminium wheels and best to do that when need new tires.i am looking for a set of used alumminum wheels for it instead. Or get $1,000 less on a trade in for another 2 yr old used lincoln mkz.i have opted to trade it in and get a 2016' mkz. But with alum. Wheels.

After getting a low tire pressure warning, i went to tire store and they showed me the corrosion to the chrome and explained how it will affect the tire and the wheel. I was notified that i am going to constantly have issues with low tire pressure unless i replace the wheels.

The contact owns a 2008 lincoln mkz. While driving unknown speeds, the rims shook. The contact called summerville ford (9700 dorchester rd, summerville, sc 29485). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (palmetto ford, 1625 savannah hwy, charleston, sc) where it was determined that the tires needed to be filled with nitrogen. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The failure mileage was 24,000.

The tires won't hold a seal and have continually small air leaks.i have to keep filling my tires with air every week or so.i have taken it to 3 different tire places and all say the same thing thing, the tires are good, wheels are not bent, and that it is a known issue with my car that the chrome erodes off and it will not hold a seal.every single place has said the same thing and i continue to have the same experience. They will clean off the rim and reseal it and say as long as the chrome wheels keep eroding it will continue and it is so true!

The contact stated that the front and rear rims of the vehicle were corroded which caused air to leak from the tires.the contact mentioned that the front and the rear rims were the original factory installed equipment. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 105,000. The vin was not available.
