Yesterday, december 17, 2020, while backing from a parking space the brakes self-applied, no alarm sounded prior, and while not close to anything.i could let off the accelerator and the brake would release some.when straightened out and driving a short distance down the aisle it happened 2 or 3 more times and gave a red side warning light.dead stops, accelerator felt hard to push.happened both when cars were on the side(s) and none close at all.i got to the intersection with no cars close on all 4-sides. When i pulled into the intersection, it braked to a complete stop and refused to move.by playing with throttle and drive/park buttons, i got the car moving,i pulled into an open area and shut the car off, and restarted.i drove home, went through an 8-foot garage door, and parked with no more problems.this all happened in a walmart parking lot and exit lane.due to the hard braking, if there had been cars behind or approaching a collision would have been possible if the other driver could not react to avoid my car.

In may and june of 2019 on 2 different occasions, our 2016 lincoln mkx ignition 'turned off' on its own without any input by the driver while using cruise-control on a crowded highway going 75 mph!when it occurred, a text message was displayed superimposed over the tachometer that read: 'caution: ignition turned off'.fortunately, when it turned off, the car automatically shifted into 'neutral' instead of 'park', which it does automatically when the ignition switch is used to turn the car 'off'!after it shut off, we coasted in 'neutral' without power brakes or power steering while surrounded by mack trucks and other cars.thank god there was a shoulder on the roadway where we could safely pull over.before we could attempt to restart the car, we had to coast to a complete stop, put the car in 'park', depress the brake pedal, and press the ignition button.had we been in a work-zone w/concrete barricades and no shoulder, we could have been run over/killed by a mack truck and/or other car(s) approaching from behind at high speeds.the service manager at our lincoln dealership said they have never heard of this occurrence, but we easily found two (2) websites discussing this issue regarding the mkx.we can only wonder how many people may have already died with no explanation about why they were at a full stop on a busy highway.because we restarted the car, the service manager said the "error" history in the computer was erased - bad programing! both times our incidents happened, we had been driving about an hour on the highway.the car has been 'in the shop' at the dealership for 2 weeks, and we are still awaiting an explanation and fix.i'm not sure i'll ever feel confident/safe enough to drive it again!
I received a recall notice from lincoln describing the safet issues in december of 2019.since then my car was never recalled for the safety recall repair.safety recall 19s/41 / nhtsa recall 19v-809
The battery will discharge after three to five days without starting. The dealer has been unable to locate the battery draw after several visits. The battery was replaced on the first visit to the dealer service department but did not resolve this issue.
2016 lincoln mkx has stalled numerous times. We left home and had driven about a mile in our subdivision when i slowed for and stopped at stop sign. The engine shuddered and shook, engine revolutions slowed down. Sped up, slowed down and engine quit. The message, "full accessory power active' displayed on the dash and my wife got a pad and pencil and copied it down for me. This was the second time that has happened and evidently was the same message displayed when the engine quit while we were on vacation in new orleans. Checked the internet and found several instances to this happening due to a computer glitch. Ford has known about this problem for some time. Do we have to get killed before ford corrects their faulty computers? to make matters worse, i had scheduled and appointment with my dealer, drove 31 miles, only to find out the service department had no knowledge of my appointment. Spoke with the service manager on 21 july and he told me he would send me an email by the end of the week. Well the end of the week is here and i've not heard anything yet. It is my understanding that the mkx is a glorified ford edge and that the stalling problems were on-going for several years.

The contact owns a 2016 lincoln mkx. The contact stated that the warning indicator illuminated to check the head lamp system and "see manual on the display" displayed on the message board. The vehicle was taken to the dealer twice, but they were unable to replicate and diagnose the failure. The dealer reprogrammed the hcm, but the warning indicator flashed several times again months later. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer a third time for further testing again and they later told the contact to pick up the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified. The contact was waiting for a response from the manufacturer. The approximate failure mileage was 365.
On 5/11/19,i was driving about 50mph when the entire dash went dark, which also caused the engine to stop running (with 3/4 tank of gas) as i looked at an 'all power off' displayed in the information area of the dash (that normally displays the trip mileage indicator).i immediately pressed the emergency flash button which worked.fortunately, i was in the right hand lane and had enough speed to simply coast to a safe area on the right shoulder.with the engine not running, i felt i had one chance to use the power brake pedal to stop the car.had this occurred in a different place, my entire family could have been killed and no one would have known the reason was due to 'car failure'.i looked on the internet and found a number of complaints about the engine just stopping that have been documented with cases sent to nhtsa.their frustration in summary is this: the service department says they can't reproduce the problem.to be clear;i just received a call from my lincoln dealership on 5/15/19, as the service rep said they can't find a computer error code for the problem, and there is nothing else they can do at this point if they can't replicate the problem.at this point, i believe that if you see something fail, and don't resolve it, you'll see it again.therefore, i don't trust this car as safe to drive.it is not an acceptable option to hear that your service department can't reproduce the problem. This may require your design engineers to be involved. The question is simple, 'what items can cause the computer to 'all power off'.no middle ground here as it is a life threatening issue that i just lived through.
After start and short drive including a left than right turn.at stop sign, vehicle dashboard lit up with safety warnings, started shaking, lost power, and started on fire.smoke began in drivers side engine compartment and engulfed whole engine.vehicle was serviced two days prior.

My vehicle has been losing power while i'm driving, leading to some very close calls on serious accidents. The "check engine" light will come on, and sometimes the "hill assist" message will also appear. Once power is lost, the vehicle loses power steering and literally shuts down; the accelerator does not work. I have to basically limp to safety. I took the vehicle into the dealership, and they found nothing, sending me away only for it to happen again. All 5 times this has happened, the vehicle was in motion on a city street, as i have avoided highways since the first time it happened. I've done extensive online research, and have found hundreds of others who have experienced the same issue.
While driving on a highway in rush hour traffic, my vehicle suddenly lost acceleration and warning light/wrench symbol came on.i could not accelerate over 10 mph and limped to side of road.i turned off vehicle for about 20 minutes, after that turned back on and vehicle worked completely normal.i drove to dealer immediately, they replaced throttle body and updated software.my vehicle has 10,400 miles.
After start and short drive including a left than right turn.at stop sign, vehicle dashboard lit up with safety warnings, started shaking, lost power, and started on fire.smoke began in drivers side engine compartment and engulfed whole engine.vehicle was serviced two days prior.
The car has stalled 6 or 7 times when attempting to park. The dealership seems to have fixed that problem.a more serious problem occurred on june 7 while we were on vacation in new orleans la. Driving down a busy street, i slowed for traffic and the engine quit. I was able to move to the right and avoid an accident. Restarted car and continued driving. As you may expect, my wife is very concerned that this may happen again and she or i will not have time to get out of the way of approaching traffic.my daughter did some research and found this site that lists many similar complaints with other ford> suggest you check out the website.this should open up to that question about ford cars stallinghttps://www.cargurus.com/cars/discussion-t35446_ds471580have stalling and similar problems been reported for these cars?i have an appointment at the dealership on 27 june to have them check the problem. This will be the third time the dealership has attempted to solve these stalling problems. If they cannot correct the problem on this attempt i will have to seek relief through the florida lemon law.
The vehicle when accelerating lets exhaust and carbon monoxide into car interior. Took the suv to dealer and has been worked on several times with no fix.ford motor company field engineer was unable to fine and recommend a repair.asked ford to repurchase vehicle but they refused saying its norm for the suv. They did not give any regulations or anything that would support this as we should not have to breathe gas fumes when traveling down a highway.we were told not to use interior circulation and it would help, not to use air the vehicle when accelerating lets exhaust and carbon monoxide into car interior. Took the suv to dealer and has been worked on several times with no fix.ford motor company field engineer was unable to fine and recommend a repair.asked ford to repurchase vehicle but they refused saying its norm for the suv. They did not give any regulations or anything that would support this other than them just making a statement hoping we go away, we should not have to breathe gas fumes when traveling down a highway.we were told not to use interior circulation and it would help, not to use air conditioner on max.the cabin on car fills with the gas fumes and makes us tired and fatigue when driving for extended period of time.we purchase a luxury suv as ford would have you to believe but it actually more like a gas chamber having to breath this seems a little too much.i hope the nhtsa can get ford to acknowledge they have a problem and make them take it seriously and get rid of what is causing the problem.
Vehicle purchased february 2016.on march 15, 2016 (1,065 miles), driving vehicle approaching an intersection on a busy street to make a left turn onto a major highway on-ramp, vehicle lost power while in motion and appeared to enter "accessory mode".was able to bring vehicle to stop (in the middle of the intersection), put it in park and restart the vehicle.brought it immediately to lincoln service department.service department had vehicle for two days and could not diagnose or replicate the problem.gave the vehicle back to me without attempting any repairs.on may 14, 2016 (2,838 miles), driving at low speed on back roads, vehicle lost power again while in motion and entered accessory mode.brought it immediately to lincoln service department.the service department could not replicate the issue, but found a tsb that they thought would apply to the issue.the technicians reprogrammed the software in the power control module and gave the vehicle back to me.on june 25, 2016 (3,663 miles), driving at low speed on a main road, vehicle lost power again while in motion and entered accessory mode.brought it immediately to lincoln service department.the service department kept the vehicle for two weeks to attempt to replicate the problem.after speaking with lincoln corporate engineers, the technicians replaced the throttle body, assuming thatwas where the issue was originating.lincoln refused to replace the vehicle and insisted that the throttle body was at the bottom of the issue.as of october 28, 2016, the vehicle has not lost power again.
My husband and i were almost killed in the fast lane on the interstate when our 2016 lincoln mkx shut down completely, we had to cross three lanes of traffic when it started again only to shut down again, we were terrified, it was towed to the dealership where a recall was just issued on it called "throttle body repair"i asked the service manager to replace this defective part , not repair it and he did so. Our service manager was proactive in this and i pray to god we never experience this type of situation again. !

We just described this dangerous, 5 times malfunction in a previous notice, today.my address is listed slightly incorrect and the 1st malfunction was oct 7, 2017,not the 2016, i see that was listed.it was purchased in 2016.the speeds were different. 70 twice, 55 twice and 50 once.the 70's were in heavy traffic on hwy 80 around chicago.

Vehicle in motion loses acceleration suddenly while driving. This loss leaves you in an extremely dangerous situation when on an interstate highway or any traffic situation. Date of 07/12/17 on interstate highway.date of 06/27/17 interstate highway. 05/19 /17 vehicle in motion on interstate highway. Problem began when vehicle reached 7,000 miles. Was initially told by one dealer service to pull over and turn off vehicle wait then restart.never was recalled by lincoln motor in spite of numerous reports by owners on carcomplaints website. When i contacted lincoln i was told that it was the responsibility of the ntsb to issue a recall. I was told by the dealer who made the repair there is a recall bulletin on this issue to the dealers . No recall notices were ever sent to owners as 07/29/2017
Vehicle randomly loses throttle power when driving slowly or at highway speeds
The contact owns a 2016 lincoln mkx. The contact noticed an abnormal toxic odor of strong fumes inside the vehicle weeks after purchasing the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to more than two dealers (first dealer: wallace lincoln, 5555 us-1, fort pierce, fl 34982, (772) 461-6060 and second dealer: paradise ford, 1360 w king st, cocoa, fl 32922, (321) 632-2222), but the odor issue was not resolved. The contact continued to inhale the toxic fumes. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not provide any further diagnostic testing. The contact received no solution and was uncertain of a repair remedy. The approximate failure mileage was less than 250. Updated 08/24/17*lj
Engine has stalled twice while in operation.first time while backing out of a parking space, second time while driving forward in traffic on the highway.in both instances had to come to a complete stop, place vehicle into park, shut off the ignition and then restart.both instances vehicle was in motion.second instance was in moving traffic and had to pull onto the road shoulder out of traffic in order to stop as vehicle would not restart while in motion.dealer checked and found no codes stored in the vehicle's computer, thus no action taken to address this issue.
I was driving on city street when all of sudden i had no gas power the engine started reeving up on high. I was able to pull over to the side of the street. I continue to turn off the vehicle and restart it after a few attempts i was able to drive for a short distance it happen again i needed a tow to the dealer the problem was identify as the body throttle this item is causing not only my vehicle but other customers vehicle problems. I feel you should know about this issue because i could've been on the highway when this happen to me and more serious i could've been rear ended. Today is may 9th i haven't received my vehicle yet it's still at the dealer. The service dept. Chuck at dana stated that it might be another week before i get my car back. He stated there are a lot of order for the part.
Sudden lack of throttle control. Three times during our trip the past two weeks from florida to maryland and back, going 75 mph on interstate 95, the engine suddenly dropped to 1000 rpm and all throttle control was lost. My wife nearly had an accident trying quickly to get to the shoulder. I was nearly re-ended by an escalade as my vehicle so quickly decelerated. Two times a wrench appeared and a driver airbag warning. The third time we got the service engine soon light. Each time i was able to shut down the car and restart it, but i decided to interrupt our trip and seek help at the nearest lincoln dealer. This was on monday, july 25.the dealer was lafayette in fayetteville, nc, a lincoln/ford dealership. [xxx], the service advisor, and [xxx] (last name ?), the service manager i believe, immediately came to our aid. [xxx] diagnosed the problem with a diagnostic tool, while [xxx] worked us into their busy schedule. The failure was the throttle body which [xxx] said is an all too common recent problem on our v-6 engine used in fords and lincolns. Their service and professionalism was extremely appreciated and they had us back on the road in a little over two hours. I sent them a thank you in their survey request.we met another couple at the dealership that suffered the same problem, only they were not able to restart it and had to be towed off i 95 to the dealership.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I have noticed exhaust fumes in the cabin when driving. I drive both highway and city, but it is worse on the highway. I started feeling tires and foggy headed every time i drove. I tried recycling air and open air both but didn't seem to help. I went to the dealership for oil change and told them about the problem. Service concierge said they had another 2016 mkx in at that time with the same problem. I was told they couldn't look at my vehicle for over two weeks and wouldn't have a loaner car until then. I told them i was concerned about driving with the problem and was offered two options... Leave it there until they could look at it, with no loaner car, or for times sake take it to another dealership. This is unacceptable and a liability in my opinion.
I have had problems with my 2016 mkx, purchased in june of 2016.the exhaust system has been leaking into the cabin.i actually took the car in for service, but thecar dealership could not find an issue.they cleaned underneath the exhaust lines and it has improved.the vehicle is usually in motion, i live in an area with hills usually after climbing up a hill of a city street.i have noticed the smell lingering even after i've been out of the car.i've seen on other sites where other lincoln owners have complained as well.i'm posting this message as i believe the exhaust system issue for ford is beyond just the ford line and also lincoln.
While driving on city streets, the engine unexpectedly quit and the gears switched from drive to neutral on its own. This has happened 5 times so far. It is dangerous and could be life threatening.

Lost power while in motion on city street, began running rough. 'powertrain' indicator (wrench) lit on dash. Limped car to parking lot. Called selling dealer. Car towed to dealer. Dealer replaced air intake throttle body on warrenty. Mileage on car 4052. Production date on car is 07dec15, 3.7l v6 engine.
The motor has totally gone dead in heavy traffic 5 times. The 1st 3 times they showed up on the inspection and a part was replaced. An inspection the last 2 times showed nothing. When the engine stops, i press n, then start and it runs, then d and it goes again.meanwhile, twice on hwy 80 around chicago in bumper-to-bumper traffic at 70 mph, cars are slamming on their brakes and honking. 1. What action beyond the dealer need i take?2. My insurance will not cover a multi-car accident from a defective car under warranty. Who does?3.if the problem is not corrected how do i get a new one from lincoln? it is a great car with about 33,000 miles. I prefer keeping it.my daughter said when it happened to her, she had just turned on the radio. Perhaps it is an electrical or computer defect.to my knowledge, the dealership has taken no action to contact lincoln headquaqrters.it happened 3 times over a 2 day period in oct. 2017, (repaired)once in oct. 2018 and once in may 2019.

2016 lincoln mkx - under hard acceleration, i am getting exhaust fumes and also rotten egg smell coming into the interior with a.c. On and in recirculate mode with windows up.my suv only has 27,000 miles on it.i should not be getting exhaust fumes of any kind inside of my suv. This should be investigated because exhaust fumes inside of a suv are dangerous.
Car is moving at highway speed and suddenly shuts off completely and stops. Luckily car behind was able to stop avoiding a rear-end collision.my wife who was driving denies touching any shifting buttons on the dashboard. However, due to the location of the start/stop engine button it is very possible to touch the stop engine button if trying to adjust the radio or climate controls which are located adjacent to the stop/start engine control button. This is a design flaw! while you must depress the brake to start the car, all you need to do is brush the control button to stop everything while moving.
Led adaptive headlights are said to move in coordination with the steering angle when headlights are activated but do not.even when set to automatic mode, headlights will only illuminate in the direction in which the vehicle is pointing partially blinding drivers in the oncoming traffic.additionally the manual states on vehicle startup we should see the lamps track to a "predetermined position" then center.mine does not do this.i alsomade sure to drive above 5mph and turned my wheel for very sharp into shallow turns.the manual also shows a whole sub menu just for the adaptive lighting.i also do not have thismenu.lastly there is supposed to be a digital speedometer in addition to the analog speedometer in the settings menu, there is not one.the owners manual clearly states that in order to activate this feature you must go to settings menu under trip1 trip 2 and select the feature.its not there and make looking down at the very tiny numbers on the analog speedometer difficult during driving and takes your attention away from the road.

May 19 2016 i experienced the inability to accelerate.turned off the car and retried. I went about a half mile when it happened again.the service said it was the throttle body.after 27 days i got my car back.. While lincoln was helpful, i do believe this should be a recall. If that had happened when i was pulling in to busy fast traffic, it could be deadly.i was on side street, also on highway pulling into traffic turning left.
I was driving in the center lane on the brooklyn queens expressway traveling home from astoria, queens to my home in brooklyn. Having passed the atlantic avenue exit at approximately 3:15 pm and pressing on the gas pedal, the car lost acceleration and no matter how much i pressed the gas pedal the car could only go about 10 miles an hour. The bqe at this point has no shoulder to pull over in. By some saving grace, i was able to glide off at the hamilton avenue exit. The lincoln tow arrived at approximately 5:30pm. The dealership's service closed at 5:30 so i was towed home. The next morning, wednesday, august 31 i called lincoln for a tow to the dealership (dana ford, staten island) that leased the car to me. The lincoln service manager, anthony fallacaro, assisted me. He explained it was the throttle body and motor which were defective and many consumers have had problems. My mileage at this point was 2307 miles, quite low for eight months of ownership. However, ford/lincoln has not issued a recall. Yet, they had to make necessary adjustments to the new part because installing the same part would continue to cause problems. I called lincoln on wednesday, august 31 2016 and spoke to melissa and formally logged a complaint (cas - 10455614-d7z7n8). I expressed that this should not have happened to a new car, i lost confidence in driving this car and am stuck with it for the remainder of the lease.
In july 2016 i bought a new lincoln mkx with the 2.7 eco engine.from day one i noticed fiberglass particles on the rear glass ,after 300 miles it was so bad i had to wash it every day , it was also in side all over the interior. I had it on my face as well as my family.i contacted lincoln and they denied using fiberglass on their vehicles. Lincoln told me to take itto my dealer and i did after several visits they discovered it was coming from the exhaust and contacted lincoln . In the meantime i started coughing and had severe throat iratation.i started to call lincoln customer servicebut aftera period of time was told to stop calling. The dealer did not seem to get any where with this problem. Lincoln advised me to keep the windows up, i requested a loaner vehicletill the problem was resolved and was told no because the vehicle ran and was operational they could not do this. After 2800 miles and 3 months of owner ship i was forced to trade it inand take a $18,000.00 dollars loss.i went to the va hospital and was told to stay away from the mkx after exams because fiberglass will cause these coughing and iratitaon problems, symptoms i documented this on utube under -[ 2016 lincoln mkx problems.]being a vet and on disability the loss was great . I do feel sorry for the others that are experiencing this problem this has got to be the biggest loss i ever had on an automobile
No recall notices were ever sent to owners as 07/29/2017
My wife lost all power while driving down highway on july 13 2016. She was able to pull over in traffic to avoid major accident from this loss of power. Was able to start car after a few minutes. Check engine light was on. She called and i instructed her to go ford immediately. Met her there and they made this a priority. Throttle body replaced and back to us the next day. Mileage was only 5264 when this happened. We love this car. There should be a recall asap.
Traveling down interstate @ 70 mph, when vehicle went to "coast mode" . Service warning light appeared on dash, followed quickly by engine service light. Absolutely no response to the gas pedal. Parked on side of road, when placed in drive the car would move in idle mode only. 5700 miles on 4 month old mkx. Throttle body assembly was required to be replaced
Total loss of power when approaching traffic light, numerous attempts to restart, finally started, check engine light came on as well as hill assist light (on a complete level surface at time) very close call on getting hit at intersection, unsafe situation. Once able to restart car had very limited power, was able to get car to dealership approx 1 mile away, service advisor immediately knew it was a "throttle body issue" and the part is on back order, appears there have been numerous occurrences w/this exact same problem, this is a very very serious safety concern i was fortunate to be in a area where traffic was not as heavy (still almost hit) but if this happened on highway or busier intersection the outcome might not have been as favorable.
Lost acceleration on the car. Car moved no more than 5 miles per hour.using the gas pedal did not move the car. The vehicle was in motion on a city street. I was later told by the dealership that there is a problem with the throttle body.
Entering freeway and car stopped accelerating.engine was on but would not respond to the gas peddle.coasted to side of road and engine still on but no response to gas peddle.turned car off and restarted and it ran normally.could have been a great danger if there had been heavy traffic.
Traveling down interstate at 70 mph, when vehicle lost power. Service warning light appeared on dash, followed quickly by engine service light. No response to the gas pedal. Turned offvehicle and restarted and itoperated normally for about 10 minutes. 11000 mileson an 8 month old mkx. Serious safety issue.
The suv pto or power transfer unit over heats leaks gear oil and burns on exhurst pipes.have to pull over to breathe and let cool down.dealer says it is a sealed unit and should not leak. No way to service unit so you have to replace for over $2400 dollars
While driving on city streets, the engine unexpectedly quit and the gears switched from drive to neutral on its own. This has happened 5 times so far. It is dangerous and could be life threatening.

Nothing happened yet ...trying to sale the unit but cant because the recall has no fix yet
Have a recall for the emergency brake light coming on due to possible brake line rupture. I took it into the dealership and they told me i needed a battery and the light would go out!!! while the light is still on after 2weeks leaving the dealership. I had an appointment for them to fix the issue with an service loaner to be giving them i was called a day before and they told me a vehicle would not be available cause customers cars had been damaged! now what do that have to do with an safety issue regarding brakes that may cause me and my family to be in an accident? they have not contacted me other than to tell me my extended warranty will pay for it! that means i have to pay a deductible which i had already given $200 previous for that issue and it wasnā€™t solved.
The contact owns a 2016 lincoln mkx. The contact initially received notification of nhtsa campaign number:19v809000 (electrical system) however, the parts at the time were unavailable. Hassett ford (3530 sunrise hwy, wantagh, ny 11793) was contacted numerous times and confirmed each time that parts were not yet available. The contact then stated that several warning lights including the abs warning light would illuminate intermittently on the instrument panel. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer and had her service lights repaired. After the repair while driving at 20 mph, the contact attempted to depress the brake pedal but the brakes failed to operate which resulted in her hitting another vehicle as an engine light illuminated. The air bags did not deploy and the contact, in a state of shock, could not move after impact. The authorities were called to the scene and a police report was filed. The contact denied medical attention, despite experiencing neck pain, due to covid-19; no other injuries were reported. The contact's son was able to drive the vehicle back to her home. Upon investigation, the contact's husband discovered another recall on the vehicle for nhtsa campaign number:20v469000 (service brakes, service brakes, hydraulic); however, the parts for that recall also remained unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer had yet to be made aware of the collision. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available for nhtsa campaign number: 20v469000 (service brakes, service brakes, hydraulic).
Break fluid completely gone all of a sudden and breaks not functioning. The break went all the way in with out any resistance while driving.
There is a serious flaw/design with the way the bar is attached to the brake pedal, also the brake pedal pad is way too small.when i am driving and i need to brake my foot hits the metal bar that supports the brake pedal, which makes it very uncomfortable to stop.on numerous occasions i almost hit the car in front of me due to this flaw.the design was very poorly planned, the bar is also attached to the right outside of the brake pedal in which other times when moving foot from gas pedal to brake your foot can also be blocked from getting to the brake pedal due to the bar that supports the brake pedal.
Unreasonable amount of time for a manufacturer recall repair. Given the severity of this recall for the front brake flex lines the amount of time from notification to current date with no replacement parts available which is still on going. As seniors we feel that our car is very unsafe to drive as we have been told we may not be able to stop the vehicle without warning.
Front right brake hose suddenly ruptured
Tried to contact both the dealer and ford, no response. Was last november when the recall was announced, why are they dragging their feet?

3/8/19 right front brake line at the caliper split at 51,000 miles, complete loss of fluid and brakes while driving in the city. Was not a covered repair by the dealer. 5/24/19 left front brake line just failed at 56,000 miles. Again a complete loss of brake fluid and brakes while driving in the city.vehicle is currently at the dealer.
Exited off freeway brake pedal popped and went all the to the floor.i had no brakes!right front brake line split, loss of brake fluid and loss of brakes!!!this is a huge safety issue, if this would have happened 3 minutes sooner, i would have been going 70-80 mph.this should be under a recall!
Brakes grab causing vehicle to skid on wet pavement. Passengers are restrained by seat belts and loose items in vehicle tossed towards front. Will happen under light pedal application even when applied knowing the problem exits. Have almost slid of roadway on curves using extreme caution braking.
There is a serious design flaw/safety hazard with the way the bar attached to the brake pedal is structured.when the vehicle is in motion and i need to brake, the tip of my shoe makes contact with the skinny metal bar attached to the brake pedal.in other words, the only way to brake is to bend my shoe far enough for it to make contact with the brake pedal.this causes very uneven, jerky and erratic braking.in many cases, i have nearly rear-ended the vehicle in front of me because my shoe is not flexible enough to make fast contact with the brake pedal. I have several pictures which clearly show this design flaw.
On or about 10/22/18, took suv to dealership for scheduled maintenance. Mechanic found that suv needed front brakes.1. Front rotors were machined and new brake pads installed. About a week later; as i applied brakes car started making grinding noise, noise is intermittent and sounds like it is coming from front brakes.11/29/18 - took suv back for front brake intermittent noise; rotors were replaced and brake pads were replaced.about a week or two later, i start getting same intermittent brake noise (grinding).1/3/19 - i took suv back to dealership for brake noise, mechanic test drove suv and could not duplicate noise. (did not put car on lift).service manager rode with me and could not duplicate noise.as i was leaving dealership, brakes made noise again and has been making noise ever since.new brakes should not make grinding noise.
Recall issued in august of 2020.i have called monthly to get obtain an update for the availability of part needed to repair my vehicles brakes, and my dealership keeps pushing the date of availability back.the dealership states that the manufacturer is not providing a date when the part will be available.my dealership is instructed me to check my vehicle 'daily for brake fluid leaks," this is unacceptable.i purchased a "new" car in 2016, "not a used car," and i should not have to "check my car daily" fora leak in my brake fluid.lincoln has had almost six months to obtain and start repairs of this recall and has failed to initiate the repair.as a us consumer i should not have to drive my vehicle with the fear that my brakes may go out, or fail to stop timely every time i drive. This is not a door handle that is loose, this is my brakes, on my car.please help! lincoln needs to be held responsible and start providing the repairs that consumers need in order to operate a safe vehicle.thank you.

2016 lincoln mkx - fwd- loses balance when accelerated. Its wobbles/ swirls when stepped on the gas on a city street or on a highway. When we brought the car in, lincoln dealership services foreman, adviser and director claimed its their mkx fwd normal characteristics. The dealership did not disclose this defective design at the time of purchasing.there are no fixes, and the mkx awd does not have this problem/characteristics.we have contact the corporate office and the manager said they trusted their services engineers that its the normal characteristics of the mkx awd. Both the adviser and the corporate manager said for us to report to our insurance company if we got into an accident because of this defective design.we bought a very expensive car, but unable to use its abilities, because it is unsafe to accelerate. Who would buy a very expensive car and afraid to step on the gas? lincoln needs to disclose the mkx fwd- defective designs that they claimed to be the normal characteristics to their customers at the time of buying. Or they need to stop putting the eco boost eng on the fwd mkx cars.

When loading groceries in the trunk of the suv, i had keys in my pocket and my 8 year old was leaning over in the trunk putting the bags in the back- her feet were under neath the back of the car and the trunk started closing bc i was within range for the handless entry (where you wave your foot under the rear of the car for the trunk to open) the trunk started closing with her leaned into the back of the vehicle... I tried to grap the tailgate to get it to stop and open back up, it didn't!!!! if i hadnot of acted so quickly and grabbed her, the trunk would have shut on her! this is a major danger and could not have turned out ok!!! there needs to be a safety feature where if you touch it tailgate it stops closing and opens back up
1.) front bumper cover developed a bulge (came a loose) june 2016 on right front side because the bumper tabs are too thin or flimsy and will not hold bumper cover underneath the headlight assembly properly. This is a manufacturing defect by the lincoln motor company and they have failed to repair my car bumperfor one whole year. The car dealership they sent me to cannot fix this bumper because it is a manufacturing defect, they actually make the bulge on bumper worse. Lincoln knows the bumper cover is defective and has failed to come up with a fix that will last. This is poor workmanship by lincoln. Car was stationary in my driveway. I want lincoln to fix my car properly or give me another car of equal value.2.) both left and right front door exterior bottom black plastic door panels with chrome inserts have come loose and shake when opening or closing doors. This is poor workmanship by lincoln. Car was stationary and in my driveway.
On or about august 2017, while driving i noticed exhaust fumes coming into interior of 2016 lincoln mkx suv which smelled bad and made eyes water. Took car to dealership for the problem: 1. They found that rear weld seams behind left and right tail lights were cracked and also weld seams below left and right tail lights were cracked. 2. Rubber grommet was missing (hole) behind left tail light, rear air vent on right side behind tail light was not working.3. Dealer sealed weld seams on both sides, (lt &rt) installed black tape over grommet hole with sealant and replaced right rear vent.4. Then pressure tested interior for leaks.

Car is getting carbon monoxide in the cabin of the car with a strong sulfur smell, especially after hard acceleration.car is back at lincoln for the second time trying to repair the problem. I believe the car is back drafting the fumesinto the car at the rear of vehicle.
Lincoln 2016 mkx suv is only 7 months old and has the following problems:1. Where the a pillar trim panel and headliner meet on left top side, the a pillar trim panel and edge of headliner would not stay (pulling away) under rubber weather strip on front left door (5/12/16). Car was stationary.2. The rubber weather strip on the front edge of rear door was loose and would pull off when door was opened (5/12/16). Car was stationary.3. The right side of the front bumper cover pulled away at the top where the bottom of headlight assembly and top of bumper cover meet (clips, etc. Not holding it snug), 6/15/16.car was probably stationary.this is too many problems for suv that is only 7 months old.thanks,
Led adaptive headlights are said to move in coordination with the steering angle when headlights are activated but do not.even when set to automatic mode, headlights will only illuminate in the direction in which the vehicle is pointing partially blinding drivers in the oncoming traffic.additionally the manual states on vehicle startup we should see the lamps track to a "predetermined position" then center.mine does not do this.i alsomade sure to drive above 5mph and turned my wheel for very sharp into shallow turns.the manual also shows a whole sub menu just for the adaptive lighting.i also do not have thismenu.lastly there is supposed to be a digital speedometer in addition to the analog speedometer in the settings menu, there is not one.the owners manual clearly states that in order to activate this feature you must go to settings menu under trip1 trip 2 and select the feature.its not there and make looking down at the very tiny numbers on the analog speedometer difficult during driving and takes your attention away from the road.
While driving highway speeds of 65-70 mph i can hear air coming from the top of the window where the felt meets the window. Unable to put had at window to see ifair can be felt coming out window while driving.
Since purchasing brand new in november 2015, vehicle has emitted strong sulphuric smell in cabin when accelerating from any speed or from stationary position.
The smell of exhaust in the car ,theytried to fix it 3 times. With ac on and you down shiftit come out of ac vents, this problem exist since i bought car. I ask dealer to put sensors in car to see if it exhaust , but they keep trying there methods
Back tail gate came back up after thought to be closed. Causing damage to the lift gate hittingthe top of the garage door.
Vehicle engine shuts down at stops or stop-and-go traffic while vehicle is in drive. Error displayed on tachometer screen reads "full accessory power active".once engine stops, all electrical continues to work. There is no warning when this happens.you can put car in park and restart, and issue resolves, but happens randomly. This is a brand new vehicle with less than 800 miles.
I'm not sure if this is considered a design flaw, but i do consider this a safety issue.while driving, i have reached over to press the button to turn on my radio and my car has turned off and i have to come/roll to a complete stop to restart the car.after this happened a few times, i realized i was pressing the button located next to the radio button.the button i was pressing was the start/stop button.luckily i have done this while driving around my small town, but it would cause an accident if this happened on a 4-8 lane highway.in order to make sure this does not happen again, now i consciously look over before i turn on my radio which means i take my eyes offthe roadfor a few seconds. I wish i could have been aware ofthis when i bought car to avoid this ever happening.i am providing a picture to show the setup of the buttons. This occurred after i purchased my vehicle in 2017, but i happened upon this website and felt this warranted a complaint.
Carbon dioxide come into cab every time you press on gas.i have carbon dioxide monitors to prove it happenslincoln has tried to fix it 3 or 4 times .there answer ,they cannot fix problem this problem has showed up in other vehicles . The engine is 6 cylinder model
I was on i 10 headed west when all of a sudden i lost the ability to accelerate. I had a very short amount of time to cross 4 lanes of traffic to get to the right shoulder (which was very small). So there i sat. I could not get out of the car on either side. The cement barrier blocked the passenger side and traffic was speeding by on the driver side. It took almost 45 minutes for a tow truck to arrive. Scary!!!

I was driving to my son's house when the car lost power there was a chime warning and on the dash a menu starting the hill assist was not available the engine continue to run but there was no response when i pressed on the accelerator the car would only due about 3 miles at idle speed. Was able restart it and make back home, on the next day10/09/16 i had the same problem this time i could not get it to accelerate i had the car towed to the dealership it was sunday the dealer was closed. I called the dealer on monday and told him what happen and he said they were working on it.they called later and said it was throttle control and a couple of error codes that required up datingp2111, u0415 and u0416. They also replaced the throttle body. They also noted they drove it 9 milesand noted that all ok at this time. That last comment sounds that this could happen again. This is a very dangerous problem had i been on the interstate at rush hour i might not be writing this to complain. When this happens the car slows on so fast that the car behind doesn't know you have a problem because you are not braking which meansyour brake lights are not on and he more than likely is going to hit you. The first time this happens is quiet scary because you have no idea what is happening.
