The indicator needle on the speedometer went dark, resulting in a black on black speedometer reading.the lexus dealer says neither the light nor the needle can be replaced. Protocol calls for the complete replacement of the instrument board at a cost of $3000, according to lexus usa.this is not a wear and tear question but a result of poor design. Driving an auto whose speed cannot be determined is a serious safety issue.
