Pulled into hotel parking lot at 11:05am (perfect weather - parking lot empty) and ,after turning into the parking spot at a slow speed, the car suddenly accelerated and hit the side of the hotel.the building wasn't damaged, but the car had serious frontal damage.the hotel manager didn't call the police so there isn't a police report.the air bags did not go off.i feel there were several possible lexus problems with this incident:the air bags did not go off even though there was over $17,000 in repairs (even the engine had to be removed),; the automatic braking system didn't engage; and the sudden acceleration of the car from a slow entry into the parking space.currently the car is at a lexus dealer waiting for the lexus hired inspector to examine it.we have pictures and a complete list of repairs if requested. W edo not have a report yet from the lexus inspection because it hasn't been inspected yet. .....

The airbagsdid not deploy. There was no recall either.i don't know if there is an issue or not but i would hate to see someone get hurt because airbags did not deploy see photo of damage. Have pictures but size problem didn't know how to reduce size
I was involved in the intersection motor vehicle accident. When i was t-boned by other vehicle (my vehicle was going 30-45 miles/hour, and moving) and the other vehicle (who caused an accident) was also going 30-45 miles/ hour. When there was an impact to my right side of the vehicle. My rear passenger side airbag was not deployed. Damages done to the car is my right side passenger side (front and rear) was damaged and unable to open or close.

Vehicle roll over driver after being placed in park at the residence causing fatal injuries.driver reversed out of garage and exited vehicle.inspection at the scene by the sheriff's office revealed the vehicle was in park backed against some trees.this vehicle is equipped with a automatic transmission and a automatic emergency brake.the gear shift lever can be placed between park and reverse and not move.if the gear shift lever is moved slowly from drive to park or reverse to park the automatic emergency brake does not engage this condition is very dangerous.
At 1800 miles, vehicle started to hesitate when pressing on gas pedal. When accelerating from stop, vehicle is hesitating and studdering very badly. This is affecting accelerating and causing a severe safety issue while driving. While at highway speeds, vehicle constantly is lunging hesitating when trying to merge into traffic. Lexus says this is normal but how can rolling out into traffic and waiting to get hit be normal?they won't release or update the programming because this would then affect the mpg number they are claiming.to be clear, gently start to pull outto merge into traffic, press gas pedal to get out of the way of cars coming at you and no reaction from car. Big dead spot in the pedal range . Now cars are closing in so you have to stomp the gas to save yourself. Happens continuous once car learns your driving. This is all in the normal mode default settings for powertrain.

The transmission on this vehicle is bad!the dealer keeps saying it's normal in the learning phase, but there is no way all of this sputtering and hesitation is normal for any vehicle, let alone a luxury one.the tachometer jumps, jerks and sputters as well if you watch it.the pre-collision break system is also severely flawed.it has braked so hard that it screetched and no one was even around me!!!!!this clearly almost gave me a heart attack three times now.it has happened twice when slowly backing out of a parking spot, and one time while driving down the street at a normal rate of speed and no one was around me at all.

Faulty acceleration occurs when taking off from a stop.around 2.5 rpm, a loud grinding noise occurs as well as a stall / lagin the acceleration of vehicle.dangerous whenaccelerating from a stop light and pulling into intersection, vehicle stalls and then sometimes surges forward.complained to dealer since day 1 of purchase. It seems to be getting worse and worse.i have continually been told that lexus has not developed a solution as of yet.so no solution....this is a $60k vehicle and it is very dangerous when traveling between 0 and 35ish.
Purchased new car march, 2017. Faulty acceleration occurs from start to 40mph. This happens on side streets and interstates. Does not matter where you are driving. Rain or shine, this is a daily occurance. Went to lexus in charlotte, n.c. For the 5th time regarding this problem. My 10,000 mile inspection was due and they said that it is a software problem and not sure when it will be fixed. Did not offer any other suggestions. I started to see lexus regarding this problem after 1 month of owning car.worried about my safety and my passengers regarding this issue with the acceleration. Lack of response from lexus is very disappointing especially the amount of money i spent on my car.

From the first week i purchased this new 2017 lexus rx350, i noticed that rapid acceleration is not possible. There is a momentary hesitation after deeply and rapidly depressing the accelerator. This is mostly noticed when aggressively pulling into a traffic lane say, from a side street or parking lot, or when attempting to pass another vehicle. When the accelerator is rapidly pressed to the floor, the rpm's nearly red-lines but the vehicle doesn't accelerate for nearly a second, which seems a dangerously long time when you're in traffic. This is not only aggravating, seeing i paid so much for what is advertised as and supposed to be a highly rated car but is dangerous this car can not accelerate as rapidly as it should. I made the dealer aware of the problem and he said it is a known issue with some of the cars and it is fixable but can't until it is approved by some government agency.the car is less than 6 months old with less than 6,000 miles and i feel it is not safe and don't want it anymore unless it can be fixed very soon.

Vehicle experienced rough transmission mostly between gear number 2 and 3 after take off. Vehicle stalled around rpm 1200 - 1500 during normal drive at highway, then suddenly shifted forward with excessive force. Encountered very dangerous situations on highway on my recent trip. I almost hit the vehicle at the front for a few times due to consistent rough shift pattern. I have taken this vehicle to lexus dealership several times to address issue in the past. Updated ecu software didn't resolve the problem, and always keep coming back. I believe this issue could have been related to recent fuel pump recall, but the recall didn't include the 2017 rx 350 models. Please investigate for safety issue. Thank you.
There is a huge delay in acceleration. Sometimes, when merging or passing, there is a very noticeable dead spot where the vehicle will not respond when you need it to. Throttle response also is often very jerky and difficult to drive. This has been a problem since i bought it. Lexus says this is normal and offers no solutions. Many people seem to be having problems with this vehicle, please make lexus issue a recall.this car was very expensive.

The reaction of the vehicle to the gas pedal is extremely touchy at low speeds. It is so touchy, that if you hit a pot hole or bump in the road, it is difficult to keep your leg still enough to not fluctuate the gas pedal and send the car lunging forward.. This is a huge safety concern when driving in parking lots or areas where there are pedestrians, as the vehicle will lunge forward at the smallest movement of the gas pedal. This has been an issue since the day of purchase. Still an issue at 2,000 miles.

I purchased the new car in september 2017. On november 17, 2017, at approximately 1,500 miles, after the car was sitting in the garage for 2 days, it would not start--the message on the console stated "brake power low stop in a safe place."the car was towed to the dealer where the brake power booster was replaced. On february 3, 2018, at approximately, 2,893 miles the same event occurred after the car sat in the garage for two days and the car was towed to the dealer again. The service consultant stated "there seems to be an issue with pressure in the brake system".the service consultant stated lexus is aware of the issue, but a fix has not been found. The consultant stated the workaround is to depress the brake pedal as hard as you can, wait for the ignition key symbolto show on the console and then press the ignition key.on february 16, 2018, i received a text from the dealership that there was a software upgrade out for the low brake pressure. I returned the car to the dealer. On 2/21/2018, i received a text from the dealer stating the car is ready for pickup.the workorder simply stated "technician performed tsb# l-sb-0004-18".the service consultant would not explain what the tsb was fixing or how it remedied the problem. I contacted lexus customer service and they said thetsb upgraded the meter control logic unit.ongoing problem: if the car sits for more than 1 day, the brake pedal must be depressed with much force before the car is able to start.this indicates the brake booster is still losing pressure. Concern: if the brake booster loses pressure while sitting in the garage for more than a day, will it fail on the highway while driving.losing brake pressure is not a good thing under any circumstances, and is totally unexpected on a "luxury" suv.please investigate thislexus brake power issue. Sometimes when i try to start the car, the brake pedal will not depress, i get a message that says “brake power low”, and the car won’t start. There is a recall on 2017 rxs for an improperly installed brake booster, but it doesn’t cover this vin. From reading about similar complaints from other rx owners that are able to solve the problem by replacing the brake booster, i think that is the problem. Because of that, i think the recall does not cover all vehicles affected and should be expanded.
The emergency assistance brake system was activated and it reduced speed when vehicle was stopped ahead of me but would not respond to my braking.my vehicle slid into other vehicle at 6.8 mph (see attached report).i tried to apply more pressure to brakes but the vehicle did not respond to my brake pressurei was proceeding straight on city road

My car (insured) rear ended another party at less than 10 miles per hour.the pre-collision system that is part of my car never became active in my car and so i rear ended the car. Lexus inspected my rx-350 and have an unacceptable reason that it will not work, unless there is a noticeable speed difference between my car and the car ahead of me. The car was the problem and it did not work and so i rear ended the previous car. My lights were also broken and had to be replaced. Some electrical wiring rework was also done.
The heads up display unit causes a distracting reflection into the drivers eyes that interferes with vision while driving. This occurs when the car is stationary, in motion, on a city street and highway, and/or turning. This was not identified until after the new car was purchased.

I leased the vehicle at the end of december 2016.sometime in september, my wife started to notice an odd smell in the cabin. On sat 10/7, my wife noticed the front carpet was completely saturated. I gave it a few days to dry out but when it didn't get better i brought it in for servicei explained the issue to the service manager and without even looking at the vehicle he said he had a feeling he know what it was. He explained that spiders get into the ac drain plug and clog it causing water to backup into the cabin.the padding and carpeting would need to be replaced and mold remediation would be needed (the mold is what was causing the odor).he shared they just did three of these repairs in the past several weeks and told me the repair would cost around $5,400. He continued to explain that this was not covered under the warranty and that i would have to put a claim through on my insurance.after two days he came back and confirmed a "spider infestation." i questioned him since i found this whole scenario odd.he told me he didn't have an exact number but that the dealership had previously performed between 15 and 20 of these repairs and that to prevent a recurrence they would fit the drain plug with a special insect repellant tip.i considered this a reoccurring issue that lexus was aware of and that they had a fix for so i did not want to put an insurance claim in and risk a rate increase. I then escalated the issue with lexus corporate and they sided with the dealer saying it's not covered under warranty but that they would cover my comprehensive deductible (which they did).after back and forth with my insurance company they finally approved the claim (they initially didn't want to cover the dealerships labor rates). After having the care for three weeks, they finally begin repairs.
Pre-collision system failed. Vehicle rear ended another vehicle. No warnings. No auto braking. Full unrestrained impact. Collision occurred on freeway off ramp. I have photos of crash site and a copy of the data from the "black box" which lexus downloaded. The allstate claim number #0453405540. The chp office at 619-401-2000 has incidentncic#9680, by officer id 18801. The lexus was totaled and allstate paid out. I purchased the lexus primarily for its safety features. I'm concerned that further faults could cause great harm or death.
Rear auxiliary box lever faulty. Snapped off easily with minimal usage and conservative handling. With lever snapped off, lid to auxiliary box cannot be opened. No repair has been done yet.
Blind side monitor on right hand side does not alert when passing trucks and cars at highway speeds.at lower speeds it works properly.when passing vehicles on the left the left side warning light comes on properly.
Pulled into hotel parking lot at 11:05am (perfect weather - parking lot empty) and ,after turning into the parking spot at a slow speed, the car suddenly accelerated and hit the side of the hotel.the building wasn't damaged, but the car had serious frontal damage.the hotel manager didn't call the police so there isn't a police report.the air bags did not go off.i feel there were several possible lexus problems with this incident:the air bags did not go off even though there was over $17,000 in repairs (even the engine had to be removed),; the automatic braking system didn't engage; and the sudden acceleration of the car from a slow entry into the parking space.currently the car is at a lexus dealer waiting for the lexus hired inspector to examine it.we have pictures and a complete list of repairs if requested. W edo not have a report yet from the lexus inspection because it hasn't been inspected yet. .....
This is a supplemental entry to modify complaint 11115465. It should be noted that the heads up display reflected sunlight directly into the drivers eyes causing serious distraction and a serious safety concern. Lexus corporation was notified of the situation through the dealership but did not offer any fix to the situation and the dealer reported that they were therefore not allowed to fix the reflection and remove the hazard. The complaint to lexus is documented and more information can be provided upon request.
My car (insured) rear ended another party at less than 10 miles per hour.the pre-collision system that is part of my car never became active in my car and so i rear ended the car. Lexus inspected my rx-350 and have an unacceptable reason that it will not work, unless there is a noticeable speed difference between my car and the car ahead of me. The car was the problem and it did not work and so i rear ended the previous car. My lights were also broken and had to be replaced. Some electrical wiring rework was also done.
Vehicle sometimes will violently surge forward when taking off. The response of the accelerator is very inconsistent. Sometimes, you can hardly get the vehicle to go, and other times it will just explode forward with just the smallest amount of pressure applied to the pedal.this caused me to run into the ditch. Very unsafe.
Often times i press the gas pedal to accelerate a little and it's like you let off the gas entirely. You then have to aggressively press the pedal down to which it reacts wildly. Sometimes you barely touch the pedal and it takes off but most times you get little to no response. Acceleration does not react linear in conjunction with the gas pedal. A safety issue when you try and enter into traffic.
While driving home, i stopped the car at the entrance to the drive way at the mail box by applying brake .the car came to a full stop. I shifted the gear ( automatic ) to park to get out of the car to pick the mail. As soon as the gear was in park, the car accelerated uncontrollably, inspite of hard breaking. I could feel the abs system being activated by the way it feels on the break pedal. The car hit the side of the house and stopped. This vehicle has built in pre collision system. After notifying the insurance company the car was towed to a body shop where it is being worked on.
The contact owned a 2017 lexus rx350. -the vehicle spontaneously accelerated with the brake pedal depressed. -the vehicle struck a guard rail.-no apparent reason why the vehicle acceleratedthe contact stated that while the vehicle was idling in a parking lot with the brake pedal depressed, the vehicle spontaneously accelerated and struck a guard rail. All the frontal air bags deployed (including curtain air bags). The vehicle was towed and deemed destroyed according to the insurance company. The contact was transported by ambulance to the hospital, two fractured ribs and 2 fingers, treated and released. The police was present and report number: 20192380195 was filed. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 9,700. *dt
The problem is in the learning ability of theeight-speed automatic electronically controlled transmission (ect)in my wife's lexus 2017 rx 350.it has delay of 2 to 3 second in accelerating occasionally after a stopor when trying accelerated in a normal drive' it does not happen as expected.

The heads up display unit causes a distracting reflection into the drivers eyes that interferes with vision while driving. This occurs when the car is stationary, in motion, on a city street and highway, and/or turning. This was not identified until after the new car was purchased.

The vin was unknown. The failure mileage was 12,100.the consumer stated the seat heater,floor vents, cup holder, and the rear speakers did not properly operate. The display between the tachometer and speedometer was blank.
