1.transmission unexpectedly completely shut down while driving on the freeway.carjumped forward and completely stopped on the fast lane. I had to call for towing. Transmission was replaced at mechanic shop. Happen in november 20162. Oil shooting from the broken hose close to the engine while driving on the freeway.stopped car and call for towing.replacement of hose completed at mechanic shop. Happen in 2014.reimbursed by manufacturer. 3.random flashing of air bag lights (driver) without any reason.looks like some sensor/electrical malfunction.happening now.

We are the original owner of a 2007 lexus rx 350. The dashboard has been cracking and crumbling apart, posing a significant safety concern. For example, the airbag unit is built into the dashboard. Dashboard degradation also affects visibility as itreflects in the windshield and crumbling pieces fall off during driving.upon further research, a 2014 class action lawsuit prompted a warranty enhancement in 2015-2017 to cover the dashboards of several lexus model vehicles, including our 2007 rx 350. Unfortunately, we never received any notification of this warranty program, so we were unaware of it until now, after it has expired.we have contacted our local dealership, stevens creek lexus in san jose, california, as well as toyota and lexus corporate, without resolution. As we never received notice of the warranty replacement program, we would appreciate a goodwill coverage for replacing our dashboard.

Takata recall"i purchase a used 2007lexus rx 350 and i discover that it has airbag problem.the light is always on when i am driving and i checked to see if there is any recall on the car but none.i need this airbag issue and any other issues to be fixed.thanks[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'*pm

My 2007 rx 350 out of nowhere already 2 years the airbag lightfor driver is on, i took to the dealer in glendale ( lexus of glendale) they told me that for diagnosing i have to pay $250 dollars just to tell me what is the problem, and i did 2 years ago, they told me that there is a problem with wiring and needs to be replaced all wiring witch will coat me around $1500 to $1800 dollars, witch i can't pay, and i don't feel safe to drive like that, the coast is that high because they explain to me they need to replace whole wiring that goes somewhere from back to the hood, because it's impossible for them to find witch wire is the problem. In that car i take my family, kid to school, and i feel unsafe to drive, its a safety issue and i think the manufacturer had to be responsible.

The car start flashingdriver air bag lights, i took mechanik it's giving some codes. When we contact the dealer to see what's going on they sayt that manufacture is extendet warranty to 72 monts or 72000 miles, because of defective parts, but my car star having problem when i have 87000 miles. I don't understand if the part defective why not put a recall?its not safe to drive when i know the air bag is not functioning correctly, please follow on this complain

Dashboard is cracked over the passenger side airbag.car has been garaged when not in use.crack appeared without the dash being hit or damaged in any way.

Rear caliper blew while driving - almost lost brakes on highway - vehicle was unsafe to drive.ignition coils failed (twice) while driving - lost power - almost got hit by a trucksteering fluid leak - dealer says to get entire steering replaced or may lose steering while driving!!all this started at a mere 42,891 miles - and we narrowly averted possible accidents at high speed!

Headlamp condensation make light on off. It is safety concern.

"check vsc" system with accompanying continuous beep noise, brakes become hard to push/activate.this started a few weeks ago, and would happen intermittently, and progressively longer in the dysfunctional brakes phase.i had an employee at auto zone clear the code 2 days ago, but the problem started again, intermittently upon vehicle start, but would go away shortly, with normally responsive brakes.this intermittent issue occurs when i am driving, therefore this is a serious road hazard as my brakes become significantly less responsive when the problem occurs.in other words, this occurs when stationary and when driving, intermittently.

Water gets into the body of the vehicle over time. Came outside one day after rain and my passenger carpet was soaked all my windows were up and my complex donā€™t get flooded. Car smells like mildew in cabin! middle of july i came outside and all the lights were on the dash, no rain the previous day or during, and car wouldnā€™t start. Took it to the dealership and they canā€™t explain how water got into my car but magically the sunroof drain was clogged with water.

The rear lift gate handle is melted and gooey.when i touch it to open the rear door, i get this gooey tar-like substance on my fingers.my dealer told me it requires a complete replacement of the door's electrical components to fix.seems unusual that this is electrical, but if it is, then something is generating an unusual amount of heat to melt the rubber cover.my car is black, but it is stored in a garage...and the handle is covered and out of the sun.

The exterior lift gate button has become a black sticky gooey mess. It is concerning that an electrical issue could be melting the black rubber button. Found many other cases of this with lexus and toyota sienna's online. Has something been done about this occurrence?

The vsc failure, check hybrid system and abs break system lights came on while driving the car on the street. Aside from being scary, it was difficult to drive the car and the breaking system felt spongy making it difficult to stop the car. The car is not turning on and all the lights on the dash are on. I replaced the battery. Yet the car does not turn on and the dashboard lights stay on. This is a serious safety issue that must be addressed by lexus.

Sever oil leak and engine stop and smoke started coming

Traveling down highway at 65 mph. Vehicle began losing power and eventually stalled. Check engine light came on. Vehicle would not restart. Vehicle was taken to independent mechanic who did nothing more than remove exhaust manifold. Independent shop made me aware of lexus bulletin regarding 2gr-fse engine and similar symptoms. I reviewed bulletin and verified symptoms were effectively identical to those i experienced. Vehicle towed to jack safro lexus of brookfield, wi and lexus corporate was contacted by me at that time. The engine was removed and two of the three bolts holding bank one vvt in place had come loose and were resting inside the crankcase. The third bolt was ~50% out when it sheared off and vvt failure caused engine failure. Lexus corporate was asked by me repeatedly to conduct an investigation with an engineer familiar to the system and to evaluate this (2gr-fe) for potentially the same root cause as the issue noted in the bulletin. Lexus was made aware, up to the executive level, that the failure mode was virtually identical to that described and evidence of failure was repeatedly offered. Lexus corporate continues to refuse to investigate this issue.

Check engine light came on on highway. Within a few miles, the hood began to smoke, so immediately pulled over. Towed to mechanic and was told water pump failure caused engine to overheat. Engine is destroyed.

The oil pressure hose busted. I took my car to lexus and they told me it was a common problem with the car and they have replaced the rubber hose with a metal one. I purchased the metal hose and had it replaced. Oil had already leaked out to the point that cause my engine to lock up

I purchased a used 2007 lexus rx350 for my 16 year old daughter.it had a little over 100k miles.everything worked perfectly, no complaints whatsoever.until, my son borrowed it, and while he was driving it, he said it quit.he lost all power steering, so he pulled over.we called a tow truck to tow it to a mechanic.when the mechanic called me, he said the oil cooling line busted, which made the oil pump empty the engine's oil.he said it would need a whole new engine.he said the car is worth nothing.i paid $9k for this car a year ago, and now it is not worth $100.the mechanic said this is a known problem for toyota/lexus, but there was no recall.to me - this is unacceptable.in my opinion, since toyota knew of this problem, but didn't recall it, they either need to cover the cost of a new engine, or buy the car back from me.i am very upset over this.

The oil cooling line in my 2007 rx 350 failed without warning, causing all oil to be lost from the engine and catastrophic engine damage. I was on a highway driving approximately 60 mph when this occurred without warning. The engine ceased and was completely ruined with only 110,000 in mileage. I did not receive notice of any recall related to this problem.

While driving in my neighborhood, i heard a noise. 1-3 minutes later, the oil light came on. I went straight to the dealer (a mile away), despite the owner's manual indicating no urgency. They said my oil cooler line blew, leaked out all my oil and destroyed my engine within minutes.i came to find out later that this catastrophic, engine-destroying oil line rupture is a known defect to lexus (like the vvt line) but for some reason was never recalled despite it being just as catastrophic/dangerous. Lexus chose to use a cheaper rubber hose instead of a metal pipe when the rubber hose can't take those high temps and will blow. 100% likelihood this will happen'just a matter of when.i researched it and there are millions of toyota and lexus cars affected by this problem'every single '07-'11 rx 350 plus many toyotas. Lexus was made aware of the defect but chose not to fix it. Except in canada, there was a mandatory recall and this part was replaced. For some highly suspicious reason, this didn't happen here. Why? it's dangerous enough to recall in canada, but not the us? instead of recalling, us lexus issued an insufficient 36 month warranty to replace it, but only if it blew during this time. If it didn't leak within that time, you're screwed.lexus messed up its vin tracking system, so people were not made aware of this warranty. For those who were, the issue was downplayed as simply an 'oil seep' instead of an oil line explosion which destroys the engine. Customers were not told at the dealership. We should have been alerted to the defect so we could fix it proactively and spare us the death of a car with only 90k miles.google this problem to see the thousands of posts/complaints on toyota/lexus websites. There needs to be a mandatory recall and/or reimbursement for those whose engines were destroyed by lexus' known defect.please take action! please.

Oil cooler line leak engine oil empty

Driver side headlamp develops condensation and causes headlamp bulb to burn out.common problem apparently with rx 330s/350s & 400h.lexus will not fix if it is out of warranty.

2007 rx350.condensation in passenger side headlight.they issued a "warranty enhancement" to avoid a class action lawsuit.that program has expired and they tell you, "oh well, pay us 2100.00 if you want headlights that work"

Headlamp condensation make light on off. It is safety concern.

The leather seat material is discolored yellow due to contact with sunscreen lotion. We were never warned about this before we bought the car. I have found many forums discussing the stain problem on lexus seats. We feel there should have been a warning or a recall, and that lexus should re-dye the seats at no charge, at least once, issuing the warning at that time.

Brake actuator failure reported by dealer because booster pump is running frequently.no info from toyota and toyota declined repair . Dealer indicates my vehicle is not under extended warranty. 117000 miles on my car.

Car has been making a clicking noise during stops for a year. I chalked it up to something unimportant. On 2/20/21, the 'check avs,' 'check abs,' and 'check brake system' lights all came on, and car lurched while backing out of my driveway. I was driving my wife and daughter at the time. Brought lexus to my local mechanic on 2/22/21. After several days, mechanic returned the car to me, saying he could hear the clicking and, according to his research, it could be the brake actuator given lexus had done a warranty extension on this part in 2016. He told me this repair would cost in the thousands of dollars, and advised me to contact lexus. Spoke with lexus brand manager on 2/25 who told me about warranty extension zlg for actuators in 2016, and told me that in order for lexus to ascertain whether or not the car was experiencing an actuator failure, it must be inspected by a lexus service center. Because i was told about the specific extension and asked to take it to lexus to diagnose the issue, i assumed lexus would cover the repair cost. I took the car to lexus santa monica on 3/2/21 and was notified that the problem was related to the brake actuator, and that the cost to repair would be $3000 plus tax. I relayed to lexus sm what i was told by lexus corporate, and lexus sm told me they would call lexus corporate and see what they had to say about warranty extension 'zlg.' ultimately, lexus would not cover cost because the part was outside the extended warranty. I spoke with another lexus case manager about why a warranty extension was offered as opposed to a recall, and he said i should lodge a complaint with nhtsa. I also spoke with his supervisor, who said lexus would never pay for a part outside a warranty, even a faulty part given an extended warranty. Nobody in the lexus chain of command can tell me if the car is safe to drive. I will support class action suit.

Brake actuator failed at 117000 miles. Verified by dealer and suggest replace brake actuator and pump assembly.no notification ever

The lights all came on abs system came onstabilizer air bag took to lexus they diagnosed the problem as the brake actuator i research and found that on lexus club this is a big problem with my year and other years they acknowledge this by giving an extended warranty. But fall short to assist with after. There is many complaints i researched there is also a noise that is related to this problem the noise comes from the actuator, but being unfamiliar with the car normal features i failed to identify the problem i have heard this noise for a very long time i have always felt this pulse but thought it was normal i owned this vehicle now for 5 years. I thought the noise was the hydraulic system lowing the vehicle air down like my navigator did but that was the noise of the actuator going out. The brakes always felt like they had a delay or hit hard like a jerk just thought this was caused by sensitivity. It upsets me that lexus is and has beenaware of this problem and never informed me and the problem just got worse the brake system is so vital why would they not after they realized this is a problem i had the warranty provider whom extended this warranty on this part but neither informed me even though both had my current information. Its a problem that lexus and its mother toyota know of and failed to make the problem right. If there is a problem and they recognize it why not make it right! is my safety not important to lexus and toyota?#toyota # lexus #actulator #safety

Brake actuator failure has been added to a bulletin for extended warranty and not a recall. This is a costly malfunction that toyota is aware of and they should take care of all vehicles as not to compromise braking and accident avoidance.

I visited the dealer for a regularly scheduled oil change and was told the steering assembly needed to be changed due to several leaks that were not recommended for individual repair.this comes four months after having the power steering fluid flush and maintenance.the vehicle has not been in an accident or experienced anything more than normal wear and tear.upon researching the matter, i noticed thousands of other lexus owners has had the same issue.my research was prompted by the more than $6,000 i have personally spent on making repairs to the two lexus vehicles i own over a two year period, 70% of which ended up being recalls.i'm a more than fair and reasonable person.however, a luxury vehicle should not require 20% of its value in repairs every year.

The exterior lift gate button has become a black sticky gooey mess. It is concerning that an electrical issue could be melting the black rubber button. Found many other cases of this with lexus and toyota sienna's online. Has something been done about this occurrence?

The dashboard has cracks, it becomes sticky to the touch and then cracks appears.thought this was a problem with just my car but after searching on the internet i learned that this is a problem with the dashboard on the lexus car.it odd that it started cracking above the area here the airbag is, at first just one crack then months later multiple cracks to the point they have joined together and now pieces of the dash is falling off.this car is garage kept, never left outside in the sun for any length of time, so sun exposure is not an issue.

I own a 2007 rx350 and the dashboard is sticky, gummy, shiny and melting emitting odor -- health hazard.the shininess reflects while driving locally and/or highway, and affects visibility.apparently, lexus is aware of these issues and tooks steps to rectifies these issues; however, i had mentioned these issues back in 2016 to my dealership whom didn't address it as a defect hence why i didn't think it was a defect until now since my dashboard recently started cracking.apparently, there has been class action lawsuit for this issue, but didn't realize these were defects until i contacted lexus regarding this matter -- unfortunately for me, they're not honoring fixing these issues because it's outside the warranty.this is not a warranty issue nor is it comestic; it's a defect.

There is melted plastic in the rear boot door which prevents the rear door from opening automatically.i have to walk to the back of the car to manually open the rear door.opening from the remote or from the button on the inside of the car does not work.the door sticks to the body and has to be forced open.

Dashboard is melting and has numerous cracks.dashboard is sticky to touch and causing glare on front windshield, causing reduced visibility.cracks are around passenger airbag and is unsafe as a possible explosion of airbag may occur or airbag may not deploy during impact (when needed to deploy).additional cracks around ignition and instrument panel, again unsafe condition.door panels are melting and cracking.inside door panel, material around window is now melting causing the plastic to remain on windows after they are lowered and raised.again, unsafe condition, as visibility is reduced when trying to see out windows.

The dashboard presents multiple cracks with no apparent reason.

The liftgate on our 2007 lexus rx350 has a very hazardous safety issue.when pushing the auto liftgate button in the car to open the liftgate it opens for a couple of seconds but then without warning will start to shut on its own.there is no safety feature that keeps if from closing even if you are standing there emptying groceries, etc.both my son and i almost got our heads crushed by the liftgate coming down on us.the car is stationary when this happens.it does not happen if the liftgate is opened manually.we feel that this is a huge saftety concern for anyone who does not know to move away because the liftgate will come right down on your head.

Lexus dealer has confirmed that the dashboard will be replaced under warranty.but dealer has not replaced the dashboard in a year and will not provide an indication of when it will be replaced.during the year the warranty hasn't been resolved, the dashboard has gone from cracked, to now having pieces falling off.when it happens while driving, it presents a distraction to the driver, resulting in a safety issue.in response to a question to the lexus dealer when this might get resolved, dealer indicated that the same problem applies to many people who are in the same situation and they cannot say when it will get resolved.dealer said it is not a dealer issue, but a lexus issue.dealer says that lexus will not send them the replacement dashboards and without them, the dealer can do nothing.in the meantime, the dealer acknowledged that there are many people not getting any resolution, even though lexus acknowledges that this is a warranty issue.the dealer suggested that all of those with the warranty issue should band together to "pressure" lexus to be more responsive because the dealer cannot.

Started noticing several small cracks in the dashboard

Cracking and melting dashboard creating noxious fumes in vehicle.in late 2015, we noticed that our lexus rx400h's dashboard began forming cracks.while we initially thought this was a cosmetic issue, soon the dashboard began melting and stinking up the car.when we brought it to our local lexus dealership for investigation (lexus of kendall), we were told that there was a warranty enhancement program recently launched to replace defective dashboards.we were placed on the waiting list to get a new dashboard and were told we were #1 in february 2016.we have somehow moved to #2 on their list and have seen no progress on lexus replacing our dashboard.additionally, if you call the parts department and ask to order one they claim it will arrive in 5-7 business days.that seems unfair.since the initial observation, the smell of the cracked/melted dash has become overwhelming, especially when it's hot out.we are hesitant to drive our vehicle because of these fumes.

On september 11,2019, at about 4:15 p.m i was driving on the southbound on ramp onto i-25 at the windsor, colorado on ramp (exit 262).i was traveling approximately 50 to 55 mph with the sunroof open/retracted.i was traveling straight, not turning, when it occurred. .i heard a large boom come from the roof and then the sound of safety glass cracking.i pulled over and found the sunroof glass had shattered.i could not find any rocks or other debris nor could i see any scratches or marks from any foreign object hiring itif that could have caused it.the glass roof was retracted into the other part of the roof at the time however so i do not see how something could have hit it with the roof metal roof protecting it from any outside objects at the time of breakage. There were no injuries as thankfully it was retracted.it did occur while traveling on an interstate with interstate speeds and could have caused injury from falling glass and/or cause an accident.i have attached a photo of the broken glass.

On september 18,2019 @~12pm while parking my 2007 lexus rx 350 driving at very low speed <5 mph the vehicle suddenly accelerated hopped a curb and i went into the road. Thankfully i didn't crash or hit anyone. Mileage at time was 52549. I read on here other people had similar issues. I didn't see any recalls for this problem on my vehicle. My floor mats are no where need the gas pedal. The mats are locked in place by the pin. They don't move. I plan to take the car to lexus dealership. They must be aware of this issue.
