Vehicle unsafe to drive after abs actuator malfuntions and notice that is unsafe to drive per codes from the computer specifically all brake malfunction lights and warnings come on ont the display warnings indicate the vehicle is unsafe to operate and to have it serviced immediately .. Called lexus state they had a recall on it but will refuse to repair if lights came on after 2016
The vehicle dashboard comes up with several warnings. 1) check vsc system. 2) check pcs system. 3)check abs. 4) brake malfunction. 5) check brake system. It says to pull over and to not drive the vehicle. Lexus diagnosed my vehicle as needing to have the brake actuator replaced at a cost of nearly $3500! the dealer said that they had already replaced several of these on this model vehicle in just the past few months.after looking online, i found that there are a lot of lexus owners with the exact same problem that occurred in my vehicle, with some owners already having the part replaced twice!this is obviously an ongoing problem. Lexus have since made a newer, improved version of the part. There was also a tsib (technical service information bulletin) issued on december 2, 2009 for "brake actuator knock noise" l-sb-0178-09lexus are now covering this part for 48 months or 50,000 miles. I believe strongly that there should be more done as this is a very serious problem that is a known defect. A safety recall is necessary before someone gets seriously injured or killed as a result of this know defect.this is a huge safety concern for me as this is our family vehicle that we drive on trips and it is used as a daily driver for my wife and child.
This model hesitates in changing (hunting) gears on hard accelerations.three times i have been in near accidents on merging into freeways, changing lanes from a straight path or from corner turns.the car responds very slow on hard acceleration.the web is full of similar incidents with this model car.i suspect it has something to do with lexus' eight speed transmission and how their software is integrated with the powertrain. Lexus had a "fix" for this problem but did not quite fix it completely and they insist the car is working as designed. I came across a test drive review, at www.autobytel.com, for a 2013 lexus rx 350 with the lexus 8-speed transmission and it has the same problem as mentioned above and which caused a near accident during the autobytel test drive as stated in their article.
After an oil change at the dealer, the car is unable to accelerate, sluggish, and the powertrain acts lethargic, particularly when trying to enter the freeway or merge into traffic. The dealer has performed a software update, however the problem still persists. This only happened after and oil change. Several other ls460 owners i know complain about the same phenomenon.lexus has no answer.
Took my vehicle in for a routine 60k service.the only service provided was an oil and filter change, tire rotation and maintenance reminder reset.the issue that has occurred since has been hesitation or poor acceleration from a stop and low speeds.
I have a lexus ls 460l and have received a safety recall notice from lexus regarding valve spring replacement.the dealer cannot take care of it until 1/24/11.i called the lexus hotline for assurance that there are no safety issues with the car between now and then and they said they could not give me that assurance.i am supposed to drive to charlotte, nc next week from washington, dc and i asked them if i'd be ok in the car.again, they said they could not provide assurances. So i guess i have a car that they cannot tell me can be safely used until after 1/24/11.what can the us government do to help or am i just out of luck?

After having the fuel pressure sensor gasket changed for the recall, i have had a strong fuel smell in the cabin. Taken to the dealer, spent nine weeks looking for the leak. They said they couldn't find it, but wanted me to pay $840 for gasket kit, but would not guarantee that it would fix it, next step would be to pull the engine at my expense...? fire hazard !

On febuary 9th at approxmately 10am i experienceda sudden acceleration problem on my 2007 lexxus 460l car.the car acclerated out of my control, in reverse, in to a cement pillar in an underground parking lot. I then put the car in drive and it acclerated even faster in to a cement wall. This was reported immediately to the dealer lexxus of bellevue wash as well as lexxus usa on two seperate occasions.
During low speed braking.there is a buzzing noise/vibration coming from the brake pedal and engine compartment.i am pretty certain, but not 100% that when this noise is present, my braking ability is diminished.it is a very unsettling feeling when it does happen and it seems to be happening with greater frequency.
My car has 73000 miles and the lexus tech. Sid the breaking system is failing. The abs failure light is on

The contact owns a 2007 lexus ls460l. While driving 45 mph, the brake actuator fractured. When the brake pedal was depressed, it traveled to the floorboard. The vehicle was taken to nalley lexus galleria (2750 cobb pkwy south east, smyrna, ga 30080) where it was diagnosed that the brake actuator failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and informed the contact that the vehicle's extended warranty had expired. No further assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 86,000.

The contact owns a 2007 lexus ls460l. The contact stated that the warning indicator illuminated for the abs and the 'not to drive the vehicle due to a system failure, contact the dealer' message displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (lexus of lakeway, 108 ranch rd 620 s, lakeway, tx 78734, (512) 593-7581) for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. There were six tsbs for the brake system, but no recalls were issued for the brake system. The contact was not driving the vehicle due to the failure. 2007 lexus ls460l brake actuator and brake accumulator are defective.*mwthe consumer stated while driving, a bell sounded and the dashboard lit up and flashed brake malfunction, do not drive car, call dealer.the cost to fix the vehicle was $5400.
Dashboard is defective and "melting." surface has become reflective and as a result of the defect causing glare on the windshield which makes it difficult if not impossible to see under certain lighting conditions.
Multiple failures of air suspension struts.my first was on 9/11 at 50k mile, but 3 months out of warranty.now, within 30 days is a second failure.lexus did offer and i did accept on the first that i pay $500 for the part and the would provide labor.now with the second failure at 30 days on the left rear(first failure was the right rear), i began investigating owners forums, etc.this is a very common and major defect in the lexus air suspension models.numerous complaints and multiple failures from 12k miles up on forums.lexus again offered to provide labor if i would again pay another $500 for part.lexus by now knows this is a major defect as there are numerous complaints and they readily offer to everybody the same "lexus participation" offer.this must be deemed a recall as it does involve suspension and ultimately causes unstable cornering.lexus being able to pass this serious design defect on to the owners is not only deplorable, but should be stopped by your agency.i would appreciate a report with the number complaints filed with this safety problem as my next course of action will be a legal filing.thank you for any efforts.
The front windows have a serious wind noise issue in all earlier ls model( that's what the dealer told me) upgrades have been done to it by the dealer & the problem still exists. 2 other upgrades could be done but they'll reduce the wind noise by 15% & can't be eliminated! the design has a problem. Many people have complained about it on many websites like edmonds,... The wind noise is very annoying & distracting. Another problem with all these cars is the wheels that chip & plating comes off of them after a while.

The contact owns a 2007 lexus ls460l. The contact stated that when braking to a complete stop, the engine rpms would increase excessively.
