The contact owns a 2007 lexus ls460. The contact stated that while driving 20 mph and attempting a left turn, the steering wheel seized, causing the contact to crash into a pole. There were no warning lights illuminated prior to the failure. Upon impact, all of the air bags deployed causing injuries to the driver and a passenger's knees. The police were notified and a police report was filed. The front driver side panel was damaged and the windshield was cracked. The vehicle was not able to be driven and was towed to a repair center. The dealer was notified of the incident who advised the contact that there were no recalls for the steering failure and that a representative would be out to further assess the failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 121,000.

For the past several years i have followed the discussions in the clublexus.com forums, especially the ls460, because of my special interest in a wind noise problem that affects many of the '07-'09 models. There is a solution for most of the wind noise problems here: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls460-ls460l-and-ls600h/506217-instructions-for-the-jmcraney-wind-noise-fix.htmlthere have been many reports of phantom dead batteries and reports mostly indicate that the only repair was to replace the battery. I have long maintained that this is mostly related to a failure of the exterior-lights auto-off feature to do its job. In one of the recent discussion threads a very astute owner has showed us one of the major causes of this problem is a failure of the switch on the driver's door that senses when the door is open. You can see that discussion here: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls460-ls460l-and-ls600h/658790-battery-killer-and-memory-seat-wont-set.htmland it is especially noteworthy that one of the discussion contributors, an apparent technician at a lexus dealership, tells us that this is a common failure in many lexus models. While a discharged battery is a problem, my major concern is that this condition compromises the safety feature that provides a warning when the car is being left with the engine running. Another safety feature that is affected is the cancellation of the hold feature which is normally canceled when the driver's door is opened.

I noticed clicking sounds from the rear of the car while in motion, within days a number of warning light appeared on the dash stating: check abs vsc brake system.. Stop the car in a safe place and contact a dealer. The clicking has increased dramatically. A mechanic stated it is the brake actuator assembly.

The contact owns a 2007 lexus ls460. The contact stated that while driving at 15 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and failed to respond without warning. The contact stated that after the vehicle was switched into the neutral position, the brakes responded properly. Upon examination, the contact discovered that the brake rotors were extremely hot and had a burning odor coming from them. In addition, the contact stated that the check abs and check vsc warning lights illuminated with an error message stating to park immediately and contact the dealer. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the brake pump and the brake actuator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.

I was driving home at 25mph (without my child) approaching an intersection, when the car in front of me makes a last minute lane change to turn at the intersection, i go to break and it doesn't break, the pedal reacts hard where it's always a soft compression, the dash lights up flashing the message "break malfunction""check abs, check vsc, check brake system, not to drive vehicle due to system failure, contact deal immediately". I coast down the road and upon breaking again the whole car shakes making steering and especially turning very difficult. I take it 5mph the rest of the way and once home and parked, i try to restart the vehicle. When depressing the brake to activate the electric start, the break kicked back and the car would not start. I had the vehicle towed to the dealer it was purchased from. The dealer did confirm it was the break actuator assembly (l-sb-0178-09) that had been issued a special warranty (policy bulletin 16-01) with a 10 year term from purchase date. Unfortunately the issue had not been taken care of with the original owner and then became a problem 8 months after i made the purchase... Which is now out of the special warranty term. I am currently working to resolve the issue and hope lexus will help cover the $2600 repair. More importantly i am hoping it becomes a recall because of the safety issue. I can't imagine what would of happened if i was on the freeway.

Parked vehicle, pressed start/stop button to turn off engine. Engine stopped.exited the vehicle and as walking away pressed the lock button on the key fob.came back from shopping and the engine was running andfob would not unlock the doors.put new battery in fob... And still wouldn't work.used spare fob... It would not open door. I could not shut off engine.called aaa they came out, took apart the handle and inserted the fob key to gain access and was able to shut off the engine. Lexus service said computer did not show any malfunction though 3 humans witnessed it.

My car is a 2007 ls460.i bought it new in sep 07.it currently has 35,000 miles on it.on several different occasions during my ownership of this car, it has failed to accelerate, in response to the accelerator pedal, at low speeds.this performance issue only lasts a few hundred miles and then the car returns to perfect for an extended period.this can be very dangerous in certain situations.about 18 months ago, i made the correlation that this strange behavior occurs right after an oil change.since that time i have paid special attention and there is no doubt in my mind that it is related to the oil change.many other owners have reported this in internet car forums.

2007 lexus ls460. Consumer writes in regards to improper installation of recall parts in 2015. *ld

Purchased a 2007 lexus ls460 on march 5th, got a prepurchase inspection and there are multiple things that have gone wrong.the latest repair needed is the fuel pressure sensor, costs approx $1525 at the dealer.i contacted lexus to see if this would be part of the recall and case manager amanda deantonio stated that based on the miles, age and my service history, loyalty to lexus, they can not assist me with getting this repair done. I am awaiting a supervisor to call me back regarding the repair that i believe should be covered under the "fuel pressure sensor" leak, elf campaign.on may 15, 2015, the gasket was replaced and the fuel pressure sensor sealing surface was repaired.i am now looking at a safety issue with this vehicle i purchased due the fuel pressure sensor shorting out my ecm, which has caused my car not to start.i am asking lexus to replace this part at no charge due to the faulty part.consequently, the fuel pressure sensor is installed where the plating material on the gasket seating surface is.

After oil change car lack of power acceleration. Dealer took the vehicle three times. All together they kept the vehicle 15 days. At the end i was told need to change heads and valves. Cost $8000. Problem is in lexus mfg. They created the problem and we have to suffer.

Submission from re 2007 lexus ls460, has a defect which could cause a crash or could cause injury or death *tgwthe consumer stated his local dealer has tried unsuccessfully to correct an intermittent and unpredictable hesitation on acceleration and then a sudden lurching forward.recently, while driving 45 mph, as the consumer accelerated, the vehicle stalled for several seconds, the tachometer revved to 5000-6000 rpms as if the transmission was in neutral and then the vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly lurched forward, as if the gears re-engaged to about 65 mph. The same thing occurred many times before, but at lower speeds.

The contact owns a 2007 lexus ls 460. The contact noticed that the gear shift indicator did not clearly state where the neutral function was. The dealer was contacted who advised the contact to call the manufacturer. The manufacturer was informed and they assured the contact that they would investigate the issue. The current and failure mileages was approximately 25,000.updated 02/03/11*ljupdated 02/14/11

Having problems with the brakes. When i press the bridal all the way down. There is a creeping noise coming from the brakes. Have seen numerous complaints of the same issue on lexus vehicles. Many states it's the brake aculator.

On 8/28/2015 i was doing a brake job on my 2007 lexus ls 460, i completed the rear rotors and pads. So i started on the front replacing the pads i accidentally tapped the brake , butnot pressed all the way in. Not knowing the rotors was not on the car yet. I then noticelights appear on the dash. Abs, brake ,asc etc... I then started reading up on this problem on how to fix it, what i'm hearing that i may need the actuator andbooster replaced. Another thingi'm hearing would be try bleed my brakes. So i'm trying this today this is a problem that a lot of 2007 lexus ls 460 and up are having, this seem like a problem that needs to be a recall.

The vehicle makes a noise when braking and pulses.upon investigation at the dealership i was told that it was a faulty brake abs actuator.because the vehicle is out of warranty lexus will not cover the $3000 replacement.lexus is fully aware of the issue and put out a technical bulletin for the repair.even though the brakes are a safety component lexus refuses to consider this for a recall.after recalling all those floor mats when they couldn't find any issue causing rapid acceleration you would think lexus would recall a known flaw with the abs brake actuator.

Experiencing both the dreaded brake actuator assembly issue as well as the very common mark levinson amplifier issue, on model # 0w480. Was in conversation with lexus customer satisfaction and they are completely unwilling to step in and do the right thing in assisting me with either, or both, problems. I've owned this vehicle for all of 2 months, and although i understand that i bought it used, as-is with higher mileage, i think that since there was a recent warranty enhancement program issued by lexus on the brake actuator assembly, and also that the failed amplifier is a very, very well-known issue, where the amplifier all of a sudden one day cuts out and all sound is replaced by an incessant chirping noise that's only stopped by pulling the wiring harness on the amp or a fuse, that lexus should do the right thing by its loyal customers and replace free of charge. But they will not, because exactly like every other company in the entire world, they simply do not care about the customer or their experience. Sorry, but this is the only way i am able to view my experience.

Brake lights, abs lights , vsv light on and no brake control.

Brake system failure code 1391 indicating the brake accumulator and/or actuator, when applying brake front end shimmys to a point where control of car can be lost. Lexus extended recall to 12/17 however the problem is a definite safety issue and there are many complaints on line about this problem. The problem in most cases can arise at 80,000-up miles and cost is prohibitive at about $3500, this should have been a safety recall since there is so much documentation about this problem. I contacted lexus and they had no answer but to say the extended warranty is expired.

I have four doors panel problem ,it'smelted and by touching u can take some pieces out of the door.and abs problem for the second time ,need to change abs control module / hydraulic control unit (hcu) ifor the abs only cost 3000$and for the doors panels around 6000$

Brakecaliber safetyissue shouldn't have been a factory recall.i'mnot happy whatsoever to have to pay out-of-pocket for something that lexusknows about

The contact owns a 2007 lexus ls460. Dashboard and part of doors (at bottom of window) are very sticky when the car is in the sun and sometimes reflects sunlight into your eyes.

2007 lexus ls 460.consumer writes in regards to vehicle dashboard, interior door panels cracking/ or sticky/ melting as a result of heat or humidity.consumer states replacement parts still not available for repairs.the consumer stated he has been receiving letters over the past six years regarding the problem.

My dashboard is sticky and deteriorating. Very shiny. Glare is dangerous. Some other interior parts are very sticky.

The dash board surface has become gummy and the reflection of the shiny, gummy surface on the windshield very frequently affects the visibility and impairs my capacity to see safely, specially on very sunny days.there has not been an incident yet, but i wanted to report this because i am afraid of the potential danger of an accident due to impaired visibility.i began noticing the dashboard's surface deterioration about two years ago, when the warranty had already expired.

My interior of my 2007 lexus ls460 appears to be melting! i am not sure what is causing this problem as i use a sun shade... The dash and door panels are stickys and gummy .... Lexus told me there is nothing they will do about it.... I consider this very unacceptable from a $85k automobile!

The car would at random excelerate slow or hesitate to move even if put the paddle to the floor. This will happen at random which makes me worry when making a left turn. This is a safety issue and the company needs to recall the cars
