Vehicle has loss of power and hesitation during acceleration. Happens when accelerating from a stop or low speeds. It's can be very dangerous issue to have.

The car has a random delay problem when accelerating to pass a vehicle on the highway can cause a rear end collision that lexus try to fix by changingthe both engine heads completely but it didnot solve the problem entirely. After oil changes the car lags and delays due to valves not sittingcorrectly (valves are in the heads). Lexus is aware of this problem but has no resolution and do not see it as a safety issue. This is very scary and has been told to lexus by a number of customers. It is all over online forums and it affects 2007-2009 lexus ls460 (all trims) has 5 sec. Delay while trying to pass on occasions.

I arrived home after dinner, drove my 2007 lexus ls460 (equipped with keyless ignition) into my attached garage, closed the garage door and, leaving the key fob inside the vehicle, i entered my home and eventually went to sleep. I was awoken at approx. 2:15am by a carbon monoxide alarm located in the foyer inside my home adjacent to the entrance to the garage.i entered the garage to discover that the car's engine was still running, the garage filled with noxious fumes, and the entire vehicle extremely hot to touch, inside and out.i opened the garage door and was eventually able to shut down the engine and clear out the fumes. As i see it, the failure here was two-fold:(1) when i opened my door to exit the car, no alarm or other sound alerted me that the engine was still running, as is the case with ignitions requiring keys. This is particularly problematic because the car's engine runs in virtual silence; and (2) even after the car was unwittingly left idling while in park, the engine did not cut off after some predetermined period of time. I spoke to my local lexus dealer, who suggested that i contact lexus usa directly.at the dealer's suggestion, i wrote two letters (9/29 and 10/20/09) to a mr. Mark templin, vice president, in torrance, ca.i received no reply in writing.i did get a call from a different representative of lexus (mr. Templin, i was told, was unavailable), who informed me that it is impossible for the engine to be kept running under the circumstances i described.at that point, after being told by lexus that they see no problems with their keyless ignition system, i elected to take another approach and contact nhtsa. Because lexus told me that the incident could not have happened as i describe it, lexus has taken no responsibility for this incident which nearly killed me and which could kill others, and offers no solutions or fixes to this problem.

I just received a recall notice--"valve spring replacement safety recall notice" from lexus.i called my dealer and was told the first available appointment for this recall was in one year--nov. 2011.i feel that if a recall is warranted, i should not have to wait one year to have it done.

I filed on 3-2-10 the event that my car stopped running when i was on the 405 freeway going 65 or 70 mph.it turns out that the computer that runs the fuel injectors broke down and needed to be replaced.this is on a three year old lexus ls460.

Abs actuator and or brake accumulator defective.recall needs to be extended for remaining vehicles to be safe.this vehicle as never taken in for the recall.after purchase and driving the vehicle for approx. 4 hours all brake malfunction lights and warnings came on.warnings indicate the vehicle is unsafe to operate.i appreciate any feed back on this problem and thank you in advance.[xxx] concerned driver.there is an open recall for the fuel line for this vehicle as well.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Lexus ls 460 has a problem with the electronic trunk latch. If any materiale.g. Strap, styrofoam gets into the latch, the trunk cannot be opened electronically,by key or even from the inside of the trunk. Thus , by putting something into the latch and than locking the trunk, the trunk cannot be opened. This defeats the emergency inside the trunk release mechanism. Someone trapped inside would not be able to get out .

Re: 2007 lexus ls460 parking assist collision warning system.lexus 2007-09 ls460 cars have a rear radar distance warning alert beeper when backing up. However, its beeper is located in the rear of the car, and its sound level is too low to be heardby most elderly people and especially hearing impaired individuals. This is extremely dangerous that may cause serious injury or death of small children playing behind the car.i called lexus national customer satisfaction at 1-800 255-3987, and they said the system is working at designed and they refuse to authorize any changes or to increase to volume of the beeper. There is a front beeper also, but volume is ok.i have twice backed into objects causing damage, but thankfully no injury to anyone yet.

I have had a couple of unsafe situations with my car due to inadequate throttle response when trying to pass a car or merge into a freeway.the delay in accelerating, due to the transmission trying to find the appropriate gear to match the engine acceleration required.i was told by the service folks at the dealership that unfortunately the condition is inherent in the design (8-speed auto).mercedes benz had the same problem with their new 7-speed transmission until they fixed it.

The brake pedal is hard when starting the car, brake pedal pulsates when stopping, brake pedal stiffens when stopping, a clicking sound under the hood, the following lights are lit:master warning light (red), brake warning light (red),abs (yellow), trac (yellow), vsc and the warning to pull the car over to a safe location and take to a dealer. The sevice department said the brake acuator needs replacing.lexus usa should have done a recall on the brake acuator but instead did a warranty enhancement which ended 12-31-2017 (with unlimited miles) and a secondary coverage of 10 years from first day of use or 150,000 miles whicever comes first.if i had driven my car more than i did with the mileage going to 150,662 miles prior to 12/31/2017, i know the brake acuator problem would have hapened at that time (as it came on at 150,662 miles ) and lexus would have replaced the faulty brake acuator.i am being penalized because i did not drive the car enough within a specific period of time so they will not cover the repair.lexus usa knew the brake acuator was faulty even in 2009.this is a safety issue which lexus should be held fully responsible to repair on my 2007 lexus ls 460.

Takata recallthis vehicle has a manufacturers warranty on the abs sensor and this part needs to be recalled. This abs sensor does not allow the car to stop in a safe quick manner. You have to press the brake really hard to get the vehicle to stop. At the dealership they said this is a safety issue so this should be recalled. It is not a cosmetic issue which the manufacturer is saying. That put it as a manufacturers warranty with an expiration date to get out of paying for tons and tons of vehicles with this safety issue. Please recall this part on these vehicles. It is very unsafe to drive and many people have this issue.

Brake malfunction lights come on and off vsc malfunction and possible abs malfunction. I have the brakes checked out and they cannot locate the problem. Brjae malfunction warning lights come on when the vehicle is in motion.

Function:abs/vsc/trc/dtc! c1342hydraulic system malfunction (fl)

Brake malfunction warning lights on related to defective brake actuator while driving.

Heard squawk or barking noise when releasing brake pedal when backing out of garage.after a couple of weeks the noise was getting worse and brakes felt spongy.dealer verified the noise: engine compartment - 41672 tech found noise coming from brake actuator - will need to bleed brakes and go from there - possible brake actuator may be neededdealer did"special" brake bleed procedure "bleed brakes per tsib brake bleed procedure tsib l - sb - 0069 - 09". At 48335 miles the issue returned "ongoing concern - we bled brakes before for same concern - brakes squawking update/goodwill per sm performed special brake bleed - 48335 bleed brakes, now pedal is firmer and no abnormal noises heard - goodwill per service manager". At 62356 miles the issue returned "inspected & duplicated noise concern. Performed special brake bleed procedure" .my vehicle is now at 69,996 miles and i am again having the same issue.

A driver of the ls460 series for 16 years. New car every 3 years.my 2007 ls460 was the 3rd car at a red light when it began to accelerate with my foot on the brake. Mild 2nd episode 2/7/2009took all of my energy to hold the car from smashing into the 2 cars ahead of me. Shifted in neutral and then park. Car finally stopped.took the car to my hospital parking lot. Lexus dealer picked-up the car and kept it for 2 weeks.told nothing wrong.was then sent to a hearing with the national center for dispute settlement. The lexus engineer stated that no electricalfault was documented on the computer.the ruling was against me as " it only happened once".i wrote to the president of lexus offering to switch cars with him.no response.i do not allow my wife to drive this car. Do not drive with my grandchildren in this car. I limit my driving in this car and stay a great distance behind vehicles in front of me.have called the manager of my dealership 11 times to get a final answer- that "he could do nothing for me".the lexus people are well aware of my incident have letters from them.*tw

Last year we reported a sticky sheen and powdery residue on all the pebble grain vinyl- includes dashboard, glove box area, strips under the windows and center console between the front seats. Car was takento lexus dealer in n. Miami, fl twice with the complaint.they said they did not know what it was. Now there are reports that this is a prevalent problem with toyotas and lexus.the sheen is causingsun glare problem as well as overall look and sticky or powdery texture. Reports are online as well asnbc news television this past monday, oct. 13th.

A few months ago i started noticing that the dashboard of my car was getting shiny. I thought it was just some substance that i could wipe off but found it was very sticky and deteriorating. While driving on the highway this week the reflection was bad enough to cause a distraction, enough that as soon as i got home i searched the internet for what i could do to fix it.i thought mine was an isolated case but found several articles indicating that this is happening to many others as well. While i personally don't expect the manufacturer to shoulder 100% of the burden for the repair, i did want to register my case as it seemed that the manufacturers were not acknowledging this as a common problem in the hopes that they would agree to a formula to address the cost rather than everyone having to negotiate the share of cost individually.

The contact owns a 2007 lexus ls 460. The contact stated that the dashboard was sticky and created a glare that obstructed the driver's view of the road. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact called tom wood lexus (4610 e 96th st, indianapolis, in 46240, (317) 580-6888) where it was diagnosed that the dash cover needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was 80,000.

The contact owns a 2007 lexus ls 460.while driving 55 mph, the contact swerved to the left to avoid another vehicle and lost control of his vehicle temporarily.the vehicle leaned so much that it moved over almost two entire lanes.there was a lot of body roll in the vehicle.the dealer confirmed the contact's diagnosis and stated that it was due to the torsion bar, which controls body roll.the failure mileage was 31,600 and current mileage is 33,500.update 10/01/08 *cwupdated 10/02/08.

I took my 2007 lexus ls460 into lexus of reno for it's 15k mile service on 11.12.08.during that service the dealer reported the tires in good condition with 8/32 of tread remaining.on 9.30.09 i returned to lexus of reno for my 20k mile service.i was told that my tires were worn to the cords and that the left rear tread was separating from the tire body.they advised me the tires are very dangerous and i should not drive on them.they reported the tires are now at 0/32 of tread remaining although just looking at the tires the tread seemed to be more than adequate.i was told i did "something" to the vehicle to cause all four wheels to become misaligned.i took the vehicle to a local tire dealer and had all four tires replaced and the vehicle aligned.i did not keep the old tires as i concluded the problem was with the vehicle and not the tires.i do not drive this car hard.if i had done something horrendous enough to cause all four tires to become misaligned i would remember it.i can recall nothing that would have caused such damage.therefore, there may be something wrong with the vehicle.

My 2007 lexus ls 460door panels as well as the dash get extremely sticky and shiny when the vehicle is parked in a sunny hot place.i have spoken with a lexus representative and was told that even though they know about the problem and have extended the warranty for some of their vehicles, my vin number was not one of the 'lucky' ones that would be covered. As some of the other complaints have stated, the shiny dash could be a safety hazard. Lexus knows they used inferior products and will not honor their commitment for excellence they claim for their cars. I am very disillusioned with lexus, a luxury car should not be having problems because of cheap and inferior materials.

When car is parked out in the sun door armrest center console glove compartment in between front and rear back door all melt with any type of sunshine hitting it it is cracking it falls off very sticky extremely dirty if touched when melting no way of cleaning or fixing the problem was told that my vehicle vin number was not in on this recall first-year this vehicle was made i have all the same issues as the recall states melting interior armrest console glove compartment and so on called lexus they said to contact dealership to see if they will help i believe this is lexus problem and they need to fix these issues immediately

I was backing out of a parking space and stopped with the brake on to proceed forward out of the lot.i put the car from reverse into drive and it simply took off at an extraordinarily high speed.i had not yet even put my foot on the accelerator.the car barreled into a tree that was 20-25 feet in front of it and crashed.the air bags deployed and the whole front end was destroyed.the car was towed to a collision service where it was examined and found to have an erratic throttle.

The speed control in my 2007 lexus ls460 fails to disconnect when light pressure (tap) is applied to brakes at any speed.a slight deceleration is noticed, however, the speed control does not disconnect as on every other vehicle i have owned.my dealership has looked at the problem and lexus corporate sent a special technician to investigate my concern.i was told thatthis is the way the lexus speed control works.
