This is not a complaint, just a suggestionhere is a question for the engineers in this office. Could the automatic transmissions in toyotas be one of the causes of unintended acceleration? toyotas use their own ect-i transmission management, and i recall that the woman from tennessee who testified in congress said that shifting to neutral and reverse did nothing to slow down her lexus. Didn't her husband also say that when the car was stopped at roadside, just shifting the transmission caused it to start? if i am not wrong, there is no mechanical linkage between the shifter stalk and the transmission. It's the computer that does the shifting. So i wonder what people here have to say. Note that manual transmissions in toyotas don't have this ect management.
