The is 250 and is 350 have a know issue from lexus concerning the air bag wiring harness.it fails and leaves all of the srs system unusable to work.lexus is not recalling this problem but only replacing the harness if you complain and meet the mileage and warranty .this is a know safety issue and could lead to injury or death.estimates on the repair range from 2500.00 to over three thousand.please look into this [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Airbag warning light came on. Dealer says faulty instrument panel wire harness which renders my airbags inoperable. Cost to repair is $3,600 with lexus of carlsbad. $2,000 for the part alone and $1,600 for labor. This seems like a safety related manufacturing defect that lexus will not take responsibility for.

I've contacted my dealership, freeman lexus, numerous times since hearing about the takata recall in june of last year. 9 months later i am still awaiting repair. The first 5 times i called, i was told to call back and check in to see if the airbag replacement parts where in. The last time i was put on a list in order to receive a loaner car. 2 months later and still no repair or loaner. I have a 2008 lexus is which was purchased in september of 2007. I live in ca. Based on the projected degradation timeline of 6-9 years, september of 2016 put my at 9 years. I am not satisfied with lexus lack of timely repair.

Got a airbag light on when i started my car this morning. Everything is intact. Was reading forums about it. Says this problem is very common. Please let me knowi did not take a picture. But if needed i can take a picture and send it to you.

Takata recallwhen the car is in motion i have some type of noise coming from my front dash where passenger airbag is.

Airbag light keeps going on and off. Looked up on google. A lot of people are having this issue. I filed for a complaint before and got no response.

Takata recall. Until remedy is available don't operate vehicle w passenger!?!? with estimates of a fix not being available until at the latest possibly 2019!! how is this fair to the consumer. This forces us to either a) put lives in jeopardy b) sell my car at a loss.

The srs airbag light went off, needs a new sensor which is around $1700. The airbags won't work unless the sensor is replaced which is a huge safety issue.

Received notice of recall with no remedy, telling me not to operate vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat, this is impossible with 3 children and this is only car.they need to provide me a loaner vehicle until they have a remedy.i need immediate solution

Takata recall the local lexus dealer and car maker, lexus automobiles, are taking an unacceptably long time to remedy this life-threatening defect. This week i have received a letter from the car maker with a warning to not let anyone sit in the front passenger seat when the car is being operated. This is the second mailing i have received, and the problem is described as more critical with each mailing. Since june of 2016 i have been on a waiting list with the local dealer to have the takata device replaced. This delay is not a reasonable period to wait. Furthermore the local dealer, lexus of thousand oaks, is not diligent in assigning people to the recall repair waiting list. My wife called the dealer twice in early 2016 and was assured that our car was assigned. I visited the dealer in summer of 2016 and found that our car was not on thedealer recall repair list. So, only by visiting the dealer was i able to definitely be assigned to the list. Very poor oversight by the car maker of a critical issue being handled by the dealer. The car maker should step-up and create a waiting list website that schedules appointments at any local dealer that is ready to repair. Some fair method of assigning priorities should be clearly publicized for all car owners affected. The car maker has to be more involved with this recall effort and take the main responsibility away from the dealer. Very, very disappointing to say the least.

Takata recalli am in zone b and my car is approaching its ten year mark.i took my car in today and asked the sales assistant if there were any updates about the airbag recall and he told me, "no".what is supposed to save me in an accident can now kill me.i am very disappointed in the amount of time this has taken and the response to consumer concern.please put pressure on toyota and takata to fix our airbags.

Over time, airbag wiring harness becomes loose and/or disconnected, causing airbag light to illuminate and disabling one or more airbags in the event of a crash. Lexus dealers confirm the problem but will not fix without costly payment......updated 12/03/15

Takata recall:i was informed of the recall and contacted my dealer.the recall stated clearly that no one should ride in the passenger seat!this is our only car and we are responsible for two grandchildren that have car seats.we now effectively have no mode of safe transportation.lexus tells us nothing.i called to inquire about a loaner car and they said they did not have anything available.it appears that it may be a long time before the dealers have the replacement parts.i live in houston, texas where the most severe weather has affected this part.i am hoping that your department can assist by asking the dealer to loan a car, move us to the top of the replacement list and/or offer a settlement to offset the loss we would have to take to sell the car.sincerely,[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I received a letter about a recall after being told i will receive a call back. After a few weeks i contacted lexus set a date of service was given a rent a car by lexus was told for free but i paid a deposit. Lexus has refunded me my money after i pick up my car a loud noise was coming from the dash i contacted lexus via email and scheduled a date was told that they forgot to close a lid and that what was making the noise that time they gave me a lexus loaner not a rent a car. But it's still making that noise my car never made that noise i go in for a recall service and it feels like i should have never gone now i'm scared to drive to not break anything the noise happens when i turn the ac on ether parked or drive i have video of the noise

The srs/airbag light illuminated upon startup of my car, code b1861 driver side knee airbag squib open.

Recall fix has taken over 1 year and still does not have a estimated completion date

Passenger side seat belt warning light comes on with no one sitting there. Need to replace dash/instrument cluster harness.

Takata recall.we were told by lexus 8 months ago not to allow anyone to drive in the passengers seat.since we always ride together we can no longer use the car.it does not make sense that we bought a car this expensive we can no longer use.

The wiring harness for the front passenger airbag was recalled by lexus because it is too short and frequently becomes disconnected which disables the front passenger airbag and cause the air bag light to turn on on the instrument panel. Lexus sent a letter informing me of the recall, but it was sent to my parents house and i did not receive it in time. After finding the recall letter, the pandemic also prevented me from making it to the dealership in time. The letter they sent me also had no markings to indicate it was a recall or that the information inside was important in any way so the letter was easily ignored. I spoke with a lexus dealership and lexus corporate and they both refused to perform the safety repair because i was about 2 to 3 months past their deadline (june 2020?). As a result, my front passenger air bag is inoperable and any front riding passenger in my vehicle is at a greatly increased safety risk in the event of a serious crash. Lexus admitted the problem with their wiring harness and instituted a recall, so i don't think it is fair for them to potentially sacrifice the lives and the safety of my front riding passengers because of a superficial deadline. I would appreciate any help you could provide in convincing lexus to honor their safety recall for my vehicle. Thank you.

It happened on two occasions. I was driving and decided to roll down my passenger window. I normally keep it closed. After a while, decided to close it and rolled up but it overshoot the window frame, that the glass almost fell off. I had to stopped and manually push it back in. I successfully rolled it up and kept it there for a week until my son rolled it down last march 1st,2015. It no longer will roll up. I took my car to palm beach lexus on that same day. Apparently the plastic clip broke off and the entire window has to be replaced, for 600 usd.i have seen a lot of complaints online about this (mostly es350), based on the number of complains this should be considered a defect and costumers shouldn't be paying for the replacement.

The srs airbag light went off, needs a new sensor which is around $1700. The airbags won't work unless the sensor is replaced which is a huge safety issue.

Dashboard and door panels are sticky, engine seems like it will die out when i come to a stop . Sunroof doesn't open because controls don't work .

Nav led touch screen not working/ stopped working.

The car has extremely high oil consumption. The cylinder walls have apparently prematurely worn down despite timely oil changes and maintenance. I am having to put 2 quarts of oil for every 1,000 miles at this point.

Valley plate leak

I took my car to the local dealer for the carbon buildup recall in the motor.they rebuilt parts of the internal motor.after they rebuilt the motor for carbon build up, my engine light started to light up for bad catalytic converter. I told them that the light never showed up before and could've went bad from all of the miles of carbon build up that damaged the catalytic converter.they couldn't repair the catalytic converter because i was out of the warranty period.

Lexus isf, year models 2008-2014, are affected by a valley plate leak due to the fact that toyota/lexus utilized the improper sealant and used the improper amount, leading to the heat exchanger leaking coolant once the original, inadequate sealant begins to disintegrate. This could cause a condition where the engine could fail and someone could get hurt. This issue is very prominent in the community (every lexus facebook group and forum has documented this information) - most isfs develop this under 100k miles. Furthermore, all isfs will eventually have a cracked rh manifold on the #8 runner. This can cause a fire hazard in addition to carbon monoxide poisoning.my 2008 isf has been leaking coolant for about 15k miles, progressively getting worse (inspected every oil change). In addition, i have to start topping of the coolant every week. Lexus dealer quoted this repair at almost $2000.

To whom it may concern. Within the is-f(2008-2014). Members are experiencing cracked headers manifold. Members report smelling bad eggy pre-cat fumes odor. This seems to be an issue for people with mid to high mileage. The other issue every member is experiencing are leaking valley plate seal. Pink coolant can be observed dripping in minor cases and leaking in major cases. Cases of a pool of coolant on owners driveway/garages. This can easily cause a fire.

2008 lexus is 250 exhibits a brief rattle noise (approximately 1-3 seconds) at start-up. The issue was diagnosed by a lexus dealership which recommended replacing the cam gear assembly associated with the variable valve timing (vvt) system. The vvt gear housing and sprocket could separate and result in the engine stopping while the vehicle is being driven, increasing the risk of a crash.the same symptoms, diagnosis, and recommended repair were subject of the toyota safety recall 13v-395. The recall excluded the 2008 lexus is 250, however included the 2006-2011 lexus is 350, 2010-2011 lexus is 350c, and the 2006-2011 gs 350 models.the same diagnosis and recommended repair was determined to be a safety issue in the models above, but is not in the 2008 lexus is 250?

Ever since i had this car, i always had the constant problem of a weird engine smell of rotten eggs, it overheats out of nowhere constantly after multiple repairs and maintenance paid out of pocket. It would shut off while driving anywhere. These are just some of the receipts.

The contact owns a 2008 lexus is 250. The contact stated that the engine was making a loud noise and the vehicle was shaking. Also, the contact mentioned the vehicle overheated and would shut off while at a red light. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician stated that the engine misfired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 74,000.

In august 2012 my car's engine light and vsc light came on. I took the car to the dealer and they found multiple misfires.the dealer replaced the gasket and 3 pistons and ring sets under warranty.my car engine has continued to intermittently shudder when moving and when idling at stop lights.today (1/3/17) i was driving on the highway at normal speed and once again my engine light and vsc light are lit up.i received the 9 year extended warranty for carbon buildup, but it only covers me through 3/8/17.if i have carbon buildup again after that, it will cost me $2,000-$3,000 to fix.the engine failure in these is250s (2006-2013) is rampant and the car model needs to recalled and replaced.

The driver seat makes a loud noise when moving back and forth to adjust the position. Vibratation is strong when you come to a stop and it feels like the car will die out. And dangerous to drive on a sunny day because of the glare from the dashboard. I have called dealership with no luck

The contact owns a 2008 lexus is250/350. While driving 60 mph the vehicle shuddered and shut off with an unknown warning light illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts.the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 15,000.

Constant engine repairs out of pocket within a short period of time. I have more receipts other than the ones shown

Car shakes when stopped, hesitation when pressing gas pedal

My lexus isf has a cracked passenger side manifold which is very audible on startup and beginning signs of a valley plate coolant leak, which will eventuallylead to engine failure. These cars were made in very low numbers, howeverour car enthusiast community is experiencing these failures in a higher than acceptable numbers of this rare vehicle. Each repair is many thousands of dollars and (valley plate 2k-5k) (manifold quoted at 22 hours labor and 1400 for the part from lexus) taken into account the low production number and high rate of failure, this must be addressed. Lexus has failed to work with me sharing the bill.

Why is there a recall for the is350 vvt cam gears and not the is250 ???

It is known as the valley plate leak. And it's radiator fluid leaking out which causes damage to the compression and also causes the vehicle to over heat easily. It happened when i let the car sit and started it and i noticed the valley plate started leaking.

This vehicle has an oil consumption problem the same as other toyota vehicles in the class action lawsuit relating to owners having to constantly spend money on oil due to a defect in the engine. This toyota/lexus engine defect consumes oil and this problem grows worst as the vehicles get older. Toyota knew of this issue but did not inform customers, and will not help in the repair or do a recall. This problem can cause the engine to fail and cause a host of other issues.

When coming to a stop or when at a stop, my car would shake very hard as if it was going to turn off. Fortunately, it never has. I would have to put the car into neutral to stop the shaking or it would stop on it's own after 10-15 seconds. During this time, no lights have ever turned on to indicate there was a problem. The first time this happened was in late july 2009/ early august 2009 and ever since then, it would happen at least 2 times a day. My car has been in the shop multiple times for this issue.

I have a beautiful lexus is 250 crimson in color that i bought back in feb 2012. The dashboard has been completely mutilated.. It is not a good feeling to know how hard you worked your tail off to be 24 years old and be able to afford the car of your dreams, and now just because it is out in the sun, the dashboard melts. Sure wish i would have known this information when i bought the car. It was not damaged at that point. It looks terrible and it is impossible to clean it without making scratches all over it.. I spent a good deal of money for my car, a car that is suppose to be a luxury model, and yet a car that cost much less and is not luxury looks so much nicer. Everything sticks to it! hair, dust, anything... Lexus has plenty of money to fix the product that they made. It is a defect in their product, so they need to do the right thing and take responsibility for it. You would think, after the first few complaints over 10 years ago, that they would have stopped using whatever material it is that has been melting. But no they kept using it and were intentionally screwing over many lexus owners. And they encourage us to pay the money it takes to fix their problem just for them to make more money. If i were to get in a car wreck from the front, my dashboard would completely and easily be crushed. It actually bends at the point where my speedometer's dashboard rim is. Really? do they think this is safe and "luxury"??????? i guarantee that if someone that had this problem were to get in a car wreck and get even remotely injured, there would be a lawsuit. Just not safe.... Please do the right thing.

Dash is melting and cracked. Causing visibility impairment

Passenger side seat belt warning light comes on with no one sitting there. Need to replace dash/instrument cluster harness.

My main concern is that the hid headlights will not work. Initially the problem began on the passenger side headlight. Then i researched the problem and discovered it is actually extremely common online. In my area many lexus cars from is250 to gs have the similar problem. The situation escalated when my driver's side headlight stopped lighting also. This really is unsettling because i now have extremely low visibility at night and in addition i commute to school through a dark unlighted corner that could lead to a crash if the other car does not see me. I did contact lexus but their resolution seems rather foul play. Most of their is250 and gs have the problem but they would fix it only for about 1,000 dollars per headlight. I and multiple other consumers are not just going to pay for the high price for something clearly at lexus's fault. Along with the headlights my suspension seem increasingly loud and squeaky when i make a turn. It is a luxury car and being it i believe the problem should not have occurred. It should be rather quiet. I truly, am a displeased customer and i feel that lexus is very unresponsive toward their problems.

Strong gas order in cabin when starting car after warm. No visible gas leaks, but can smell under hood. There has been recalls for this. Report receipt date: 2014-10-15nhtsa campaign: 14v647000manufacture: toyota motor engineering & manufacturingthey say there are no recalls on my vehicle, lexus says they could not smell the gas fumes!

I bought 2008 lexus is250 with 123k miles on 05/18/19. I had inspected by a mechanic prior to purchasing it. On one ocassion pror to accident, i backed out of a drive way. When i shifted the automatic transmission from reverse to drive it sudden accelerated for a brief moment, but it was clear in front of me and i remain in control. It only happened to me that one time that week and i thought nothing of it. In the morning of may 29, 2019 the car was parallel parked with a vehicle both in front behind it. My wife slowly back up the car to allow room to pull out of the parking spot. She turn the front wheels towards the curb so that the front of the car would slightly stick out. When she shifted the automatic transmission from reverse to drive, the car suddenly accelerated, jump over the curb and hit the concrete wall of a school. She panicked at the sudden acceleration and does not remember if she step on any pedal during that time. She only knows it accelerated as soon as she shifted to drive and then the car hit the wall. There were no injuries and no other car was involved. We moved the car off the side walk and notified the insurance and the school admin.the insurance declared it a total loss and took ownership of it. A gasoline car accelerate by opening the throttle to allow more air into the engine. The electronic throttle suddenly open due to the physical electronics and/or software controlling it when the transmission is shift between reverse and drive. Dr. Ronald a. Belt theory seems plausible. If true you would think just changing the software to get an average of voltage samples would prevent the over compensation of the ecu throttle controller cause by low voltage spikes. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the front brake pads and noticed that the odometer had been tampered with. Also, the contact mentioned that the gear shifter shifted out of park several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to repair the problem.the failure mileage was 200 and the current mileage was 39,000.

I am writing to report a brake failure on my new lexus is 350 while parallel parking.i backed my car into the space, and then touched the gas lightly to move it forward to close the 4 to 5 foot gap.i put foot on brake and pushed down.brake went down close to floor and did not stop car.it kept moving slowly forward and bumped into vehicle parked ahead of me, scratching both it and my car.with car in neutral i pushed down the brake pedal twice more and it welt close to floor.on third attempt it came back to normal.i left note for owner of car ahead of me and took car to lexus of pleasanton.they kept car for 2 days but say that they can't duplicate problem and that it is safe.a quick google search of "lexus brake failure" demonstrates other similar problems with other lexus cars.lexus refuses to acknowledge this problem or deal with.they say that if they can't duplicate the problem they don't believe it exists.a friend of my wife says her lexus did the same thing but lexus told her that nothing is wrong with it.lexus has a problem with its abs braking system , but is stonewalling the problem.sooner or later someone will be seriously injured or killed because of lexus failure to acknowledge this problem.

After driving through a deeper puddle on the road my electron power steering started to work intermittently and after stopping briefly to buy some snacks, my electronic power steering quit completely.it now no longer works at all, and the only way to steer it is with manual (very heavy) steering.it has been sitting in the driveway for the past 3 weeks.

While driving on a straight line, most of the time when trying to make a normal correction it would feel like the steering wheel is caught on a magnet and i needed to tug the steering loose. This causes me to loose control of the car for few seconds to correct the steering.

The dashboard melting when the vehicle was in motion and stationary. Melting dashboard creates a glare in the windshield and makes it impossible to see when driving during the day. Additionally, toxic fumes from melting dashboard make it difficult to breathe when driving.

Dashboard has melted and causing significant visibility issues while driving.

The dash board starting getting worse day by day getting extremely sticky and starting to have melt spots causing a huge glare when i'm driving. I know this is a big problem on a lot of lexus is owner 06-12. I use the wind shield visor all the time and never wipe with chemical.

My car is six years old. It was purchased new. Over time the rubbery substance my dashboard is made of has started to melt and become sticky. I've never had this happen in a vehicle and wouldn't expect it from a lexus. Recently, the sun has started to glare off of the melting dashboard, onto the windshield, making visibility of the road difficult. I'm concerned for my safety. Lexus needs to issue a recall. Please help.

The dashboard of the car melts in the sun causing excessive glare. I have attempted to have it resolved but lexus will not fix the problem.there is something wrong when the dashboard can not withstand normal temperatures in fl.

I have a 2008 lexus is250 that is out of warranty. The dashboard and door panels literally started melting. I contacted toyota/lexus a few months ago since not only was the dashboard melting by the day but the door panels are also melting ruining several pairs of pants. I was told that the vehicle was out of warranty & that there was nothing they could do. After several calls, i received a call from lexus stating they would replace the dashboard but i was responsible for the labor. I told them i should not have to pay for anything since it's a manufacturer's defect but they said that the labor was my responsibility. So i went ahead and paid the labor and had the dash replaced. Although lexus also agreed to replace my door panels, the labor cost of $1,300.00 was absurd and again my responsibility according to lexus.i wasn't going to pay that amount that's crazy. So my door panels continue to melt. At this point i want to file a complaint to get reimbursed for the $600.00 labor i had to pay for the dashboard and would like lexus to replace my door panel at no charge to me.

My dashboard is melting horribly.i have contacted lexus on several occasions.i was told that i first needed to bring it the nearest dealership in my area to have to serviced and get an estimate.the service report stated that the dash was in fact melting and needed to be replaced. I followed up with another call to lexus and was informed that it was out of warranty and that it could not be replaced.i indicated thatissue is by far not a warranty issue but in fact a defect in the material used to make the dashboard.the visibility on the driver side is horrible and quite dangerous.

The plastic dashboard on my vehicle has become wet and sticky because of the sun. There is a bad glare fr the dashboard making it dangerous to drive in the sun as i cannot see clearly in front of me.

My lexus is350, 2008 has just over 40000 miles. The dash for about a year or more is sticky. Driver side is worst. Reflects into windshield making it hard to drive. I called lexus several times with no help. Try water/ water and soap. Come in and let detailers look at it. Can't do any thing. Call lexus dot com. Can't do any think. Never put any on dash as windshield is too close to dash. The reflection makes it hard to drive in sun. Seems like dash glue is coming up. Seems like maker should have a fix. Its getting dangerous to drive. Wanted to keep car a long time but don't know now. Scary.

Dashboard began to melt and cause sticky resin.also, driver door same material began to degrade.

The dashboard is melting and the door side panels pieces are falling off as if the plastic is old and dry. I contacted lexus who told me that the florida sun was too hot for the cars and that they were not at fault for this and also advised me that they would not cover the defects.damage is estimated at $ 1,200.00 per the dealer

When accident it get hot outside my dashboard starts to get soft and shiny and sticky.when it gets to that point in the middle of the day it creates a glare reflection on the front windshield that makes it hard to see. I try to bring this up to 3 separate lexus dealership and the all of them don't want to take responsibility for the issue instead they accuse me putting some type of chemical over it which i have not put a thing over my dashboard or my door panels not even water.they don't really care about driving safety hazard for the consumer's safety, all they wanna do this just push us away and said it was something that we did or something that we put on the dashboard. And they claim that they have never heard about this issue before when i obviously do a search on the form a lot of consumers is having this issue everywhere. Buying a $40,000 car we should not have to deal with this driving safety issue of the dashboard melting having a glad reflection on the front windshield that will cause an accident eventually and it will be a big lawsuit.

Affected parts: -- dashboard & all 4 interior door panels --my 2008 lexus is suffers from a well known issue among lexus owners in southern states. The dashboard and interior door panels become almost playdoh like under normal use of the car.my dashboard is extremely melted to the point that it becomes mirror-like in direct sunlight. This produces a white glare on the windshield, severly impairs daytime driving and makes the car liabilty to myself and others. Door panels that leave sticky residue on my clothing have to be babied so that they don't crumble or become even more marred than they already are.since i'm just outside their warranty, the dealer declined to assist me financially and as of today corporate refuses to help other than to allow me to pay them out of pocket for something that should not even be an issue.i am the 2nd owner of this car as of last year and a toyota customer since i began driving in 2007. I just want toyota to own up to this defective product and do the right thing. This is neglect on their part, not mine. I didnt make the melting dashboard, they made it when they chose to use sub-par materials to cut costs.

My 2008 lexus is250 passenger side windshield bracketclip break off, when i drive at a high speed i can hear the noise that the wind tapping against the windshield. Because the bracket clip is broken, so it will not hold the windshield frame down. I affair that it will come off and hit someone behind or people on the side walk if someone happens to be jogging.when i look at it, it seem that the bracket is poorly design. The car at this age should not happens if the design is look carefully. I never see like this before, even my truck 300,000 mile the windshield bracket still strong.

My dashboard is melting and it is effecting my safety.

This is in regards to my 2008 lexus is 250 interior panels sticking/melting with poor appearance and its deteriorating which can affect my safety as it will reduce my driving visibility.i have visited the following dealerships:lexus of north miami, jm lexus and lexus of west kendall. On many occasions, i have pointed out the problems with my dashboard and side doors to several different service advisors.i mentioned the issues i had with my dashboard and door but they all just blew it off and stated that there was no problem with it.they all said it was just basic normal wear and tear due to the florida heat. The areas that are affected are the dashboard, driver and passenger side door panels and rear door panels.it is sticky, melting, degrading, leaves prints on your hands and fingers when touched. In addition, it leaves a black residue on your clothes when you accidently bump into it.i know that lexus is a brand that prides itself on pursuit of perfection' but i don't see that pride from any of the dealerships to resolve this issue.it's absurd how the service advisor can tell me it's due to the floridas heat and also the basic wear and tear as i have an older model honda accord and the dashboard and door panels are not deteriorating. I purchased a lexus (is250) because i loved the style and its reliability.my car still has its shine and does not have any major dents.i take pride in taking care of my investment.the exterior is in immaculate condition and so is the interior except for the deteriorating dashboard panels and doors.i would understand there would be basic wear and tear if my car was older than 10 years, but we are talking about a luxury car which should be using top quality material. In addition, the issue started 2.5 years after i purchased it new, which all the dealerships disregarded my complaints.

Dash and door panels are extremely sticky.

Door panels melting

My son came home from college and said his dashboard was "sticky" and that it is becoming a nuisance for him to drive. We tried to clean it, but it cannot be cleaned.the dash is covered with various debris that collects and sticks to it.i then went online to see if anyone had similar problems.i found that toyota has issued a wep, but it doesn't cover the month that my son's car was manufactured (it does cover the year it was manufactured).

Constant engine repairs out of pocket within a short period of time. I have more receipts other than the ones shown

Extremely terrible material used on the dash and door panels. Sticky black material sticking to my children and their clothes.

The dashboard on my lexus is350 is melting. The dashboard is now shiny and sticky.

I have recently purchased a preowned 2008 lexus isf with the sticky dash board issue and also the door panels are decaying away.lexus will not replace my items that are damage due to their poor mixture of the material used to make their dash and panels. Preowned purchased should be cover if the car meet the defective issue.

Dash. And door panels. Melting

Defective dashboard:i have a 2005 lexus rx 330 and the dashboard has fallen apart.it looks like shattered tempered glass and is soft and sticky.parts of the dashboard have fallen off.i spoke with the local dealer and they had no idea when parts would be available.

Sunroof glass exploded for no reason, sending glass particles inside the car while transporting my infant daughter and driving.it is a miracle nobody got hurt.there is documented cases of sunroof glass exploding on lexus cars class action lawsuits.my car has been at the dealer by request of lexus usa representative scott murphy since last friday 11/15 and still no resolution.the safety of vehicle owners should not be bargaining chip.these explosion can cause serious damage to vehicle operator and occupants.

Dashboard melting, sun reflects on dashboard and reflects on windshield causing very poor visibility, called lexus and they said they would supply me with replacement but that was 3 years ago i call every 6 months with the same response, even offered to pay but they claim they don't have supply

Sticky dashboard and panels even with very minimal driving in the heat, car always parked in covered garage at work and garaged at home, low mileage carrearview mirror coating coming offrandom engine misfires even after performing carbon tsb

Dashboard melting and sticky. Dashboard leaves glare when parked or driving during day/hot weather. Contacted dealer, dealer said cant do anything for me. Melting sticky dashboard creates odor.

Dashboard is melting, causing a shinny intense glare on windshield causes poor visibility on sunny days....

The dashboard melting when the vehicle was in motion and stationary. Melting dashboard creates a glare in the windshield and makes it impossible to see when driving during the day. Additionally, toxic fumes from melting dashboard make it difficult to breathe when driving.

My issue pertains to the sticky dash and the same materials used on parts of the door near the handles. When the temperature gets over 80 degrees the material starts to melt and becomes extreme hot and sticky. When i tried to grab papers i left on the dash i had to tear them off and it left a sticky substance. It also can become extremely hot and when i hit any part of the dash when heated it burns and sticks to me. I attempted to contact lexus and they declined my claim because it is not a 'safety issue to them or the nhtsa'

In early 02/09 i was driving home on interstate 695 n in maryland.i was traveling about 50 mph, when all of a sudden the car suddenly accelerated to about 95 mph through no effort of my own. I did not engage the accelerator pedal to increase the speed of the vehicle. I immediately engaged the foot brake to decelerate and but the car would not slow. Eventually after several attempts i was able to slow the car with the brake but the engine continued to violently rev. As i released the foot brake, the car once again accelerated without engaging the accelerator pedal. Even after engaging the emergency brake, the unaided acceleration and my attempt to decelerate the car continued. I was finally able to slow the car enough to pull out of traffic and over to the emergency lane and eventually stop the motion of the vehicle. Although i was able to bring the car to a stop, the engine continued to rev violently, the back tires spun out of control and the back of the car started to fish tail. I tried a number of different tactics to stop the car completely including, attempting to manually shift gears, putting the car in neutral etc. Finally, after several minutes i was able to turn off the ignition and bring the car to a complete stop and the ordeal came to an end without damaging the car and more importantly without injury to me or others.i had the car towed to dealership that night and explained the situation to the service organization the following day. The service team conducted multiple diagnostic tests but was unable to determine or explain the cause of the unintended acceleration to my satisfaction. One service rep suggested that the floor mat was the cause but i had checked immediately after the ordeal the night before to ensure that the floor mat had not become lodged under the accelerator pedal. Since the dealership was not able to determine the cause of the problem, i decided that the best course of action was toreturn the car and lease another car.

Dash is melting and cracked. Causing visibility impairment

The dashboard melting when the vehicle was in motion and stationary. Melting dashboard creates a glare in the windshield and makes it impossible to see when driving during the day. Additionally, toxic fumes from melting dashboard make it difficult to breathe when driving.

The driver seat makes a loud noise when moving back and forth to adjust the position. Vibratation is strong when you come to a stop and it feels like the car will die out. And dangerous to drive on a sunny day because of the glare from the dashboard. I have called dealership with no luck

Dashboard is melting, causing a shinny intense glare on windshield causes poor visibility on sunny days....

Over time, the rearview mirror has darkened with black spots and lines making it difficult to see during the day.lexus is aware of the problem, but will not replace the mirror without a recall.the defect can be seen on rearview mirrors for sale on ebay.i was advised by lexus service that if it doesn't pass safety check inspection to stick on a temporary mirror.they know there is a problem and it is a safety issue.there must be a recall before someone dies.i find myself looking longer into the mirror, taking my eyes off the road, to discern the traffic behind.i took pictures, but on ebay, if you look close, you can see the spotting and lines on the used mirrors for sale.it's not an isolated incident.especially by the compass in the right hand side there are noticeable parallel diagonal lines.the rest of the mirror is spotty with lines and dark.

Melted dash board

My dashboard is melting horribly.i have contacted lexus on several occasions.i was told that i first needed to bring it the nearest dealership in my area to have to serviced and get an estimate.the service report stated that the dash was in fact melting and needed to be replaced. I followed up with another call to lexus and was informed that it was out of warranty and that it could not be replaced.i indicated thatissue is by far not a warranty issue but in fact a defect in the material used to make the dashboard.the visibility on the driver side is horrible and quite dangerous.

I have recently purchased a preowned 2008 lexus isf with the sticky dash board issue and also the door panels are decaying away.lexus will not replace my items that are damage due to their poor mixture of the material used to make their dash and panels. Preowned purchased should be cover if the car meet the defective issue.

The rear view mirror has become unusable- mirror has black scratches all over on the inside & keeps getting worse. Do a google search & you'll find 100s of complaints on forums & chats. It's 1500 bux to get this replaced & it's not a users fault! lexus has fully aware of this for years & never did a recall. I can't see from this mirror at all & def. Not at night. If i get in a wreck, it will be 100% on lexus!

Interior rear view mirror has become discolored, cloudy with dark marks throughout making it difficult to visualize objects in it.seems to be a common problem occurring with this model of lexus.it should be covered under warranty but at this time lexus has not issued a recall or extended warranty.
