The manufacturer needs to recall the dashboard in these vehicles, they become very shiny and sticky in the heat and causes extreme glare while driving. I am worried about how the vehicle safety will be affected by such a sticky surface covering the air bags. Lexus dealership was of no help, this needs to be a recall!

Dashboard is sticky and shiny, i complained to the dealership but they did not repair the defect. Dealership stated they have seen many of the same model vehicle with the same problem, but lexus has not issued a recall. I feel this material is hazardous as it makes driving difficult since it causes a strong glare.

The contact owns a 2007 lexus is 350. While driving 35 mph, the air bag indicator illuminated without warning. Sewell lexus in fort worth, texas requested that the vehicle be brought in for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic as having squib circuit failure inside of the air bag, which caused the srs indicator to illuminate under code: b1861. The independent mechanic stated that in the event of a crash, the squib circuit failure could potentially disable the air bags. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 141,896.

My airbag light is on. I did some research online and lexus had issued a tsb for the airbag light for 2006-2007 (some 2008) lexus is models. This tsb was only covering 5 years or 70k miles. I'm currently at 90k miles and this airbag light is on. Apparently the airbag harness the cars were fitted with were too short, and causes a fault in the system when one of the connectors related to the airbag system gets loosened up. This disables the entire airbag system from what i have read. This seems like an extremely unsafe manufacturing fault, and should have been a recall as opposed to a tsb limited to a warranty period.

I bought my car used in 2015 and about 1,000 miles after driving it off the lot the airbag light came on. I took it to the local lexus dealership and they diagnosed it as the driver's knee airbag and said the entire airbag wire harness needed to be replaced and quoted me $3,500. I looked up the issue and found that lexus had previously issued a tsib on it (l-sb-0167-08). I also read many owners around that time were able to get it fixed under warranty (72mo or 70k miles). Unfortunately that expired for me 2 years before i even bought the car. I'm very frustrated that they know this is an issue, that it's related to airbag safety and they are still asking me to pay thousands. It's been two years and the light is still on. Ps: the dealership told me several times that i wasn't affected by the taketa recall but i later got the recall notice.

Air bag light turned on after having the fuel pressure sensor recall fixed . As soon as i picked up my car that afternoon and turned it on the light was on when the light was not on before until after they fixed what was needed to be fixed. Now they want me to pay around $2500 i am a college student and can't afford that and have seen it is a problem with a lot of people. And the cars warranty won't cover it due to the 72 months or 70,000 mile warranty my car is at 80,000 i feel that there shouldn't be any problems yet like that.

Takata recall i am having issues regarding getting this fixed as well as my dashboard and doors as they are melting and cracking away after several attempts over the last year to get this resolved i still have gotten no response and it is only getting worse. It's becoming harder and harder to see when driving due to the glare from the dashboard and not to mention the fact that it is literally falling apart day by day.

There are 2 recalls that i have been told by servco lexus oahu have to be done at a dealership. The problem is i live on the big island of hawaii and there is not a dealership on this island so i was told i have to pay for the shipping of my vehicle to the the dealership on the other islands, either maui, or oahu. I have argued with them saying it is there responcibility to fix the car and i shouldn't have to pay anything for them fix their mess. I was told by an assistant manager at servco lexus oahu, that if i read my owners manual i would have known this.do you know of anyone who has read their owners manual front to back before they bought a car, new or used, what if someone buys a used car and there is not a manual in the car?he also told me that all automanufacturers state that in there mauals so i read my chevy truck and my corvette manual and it says "chevrolet will repair all factory recalls within 30 days and if they cannot they will find a repair shop to do the work and worse case scenario they will send parts to the customer." i read the manual from lexus but couldn't find anything saying i am responsible for shipping costs for them to fix their mess, it might be in there but i couldn't find it. Anyways these recall are from 2010 and haven't been fixed, there is a recall on the interior door panels and dashboard i have been waiting on for 15 months, i was told that it should take 8-12 mo., still waiting, i can't even sell the car without taking at least a$2000.00 loss, if l would have known it was going to take this long and that i was going to get such a hassleand disrespect from the company of lexus i would of never bought this from my friend in the first place.this is not how the american automanufacturers do business, i will never buy a japanese car ever again.if they can't conduct business like the big boys do then they shouldn't do any business.

I cannot renew my car registration in california until this airbag recall has been processed by lexus.

I was involved in a crash while driving my 2007 lexus is on friday december 13, 2013.i rear ended a toyota sequoia truck.my car sustained heavy damage, yet the air bags failed to deploy.the air bag sensor at the front bumper was destroyed in the crash.i have never had any damage to the vehicle before this accident, and no repair work has been performed on the car other than routine maintenance and recall repairs.

The aux cable to plug a 3.5mm jack from audio headphone / speaker cable does not work. It plays music only in the front right door speaker, does not play anywhere else. All of the speakers work fine when on radio or cd mode but the aux cable seems to be malfunctioning. I have searched this problem online and spoken with others who have the same model of lexus (is350 2007). It is a common occurrence.it would be great to get this fixed. Thank you.

My car, lexus is 350, has a condensation problem inside the headlight housing on both sides. I bought the car approximately a year ago. The problem first occurred to my car about 2 weeks ago. One of the headlights are permanently out. Because of the water, not only the headlight but ballast and the ecu are failed to operate properly. It is a manufacturer defect as even the dealership and the lexus customer satisfaction center admitted. However, lexus refused to provide the full service. They offered to provide $1,000 when the total fixing cost will be around $1,500 for one side. I am also aware of the class action that are going on for rx from 2004 - 2009 model. As they are suffering from the same problem, many lexus owner are having this issue.this is certainly a manufacturer defect but they are refusing to provide the service because my manufacturer warranty has expired. Now, it is obviously dangerous to drive at night due to their mistake. I strongly feel that it is not the matter of factory warranty, but the business ethics and the responsibility of lexus. Since the water damaged the ecu, cause the problem that there shouldn't have been, they need provide full service for their customer. I am filing my complaint due to achieve the right as a customer, please take a close look at the issue.

When sunroof is open, sometimes it will not shut.

Vsc light comes on randomly and sometimes stays on for days. Abs light comes on with it and check engine light. Very unsafe when it happens i have been turning and the traction will cut out. Because of this issue we do not drive the car in the rain.

The contact owns a 2007 lexus is 350. While driving 30 mph, the vehicle vibrated significantly. The contact managed to pull the vehicle over before it stalled. Also, the check engine, battery, and vsc warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer (lexus of pleasanton, 4345 rosewood dr, pleasanton, ca, 94588) where it was diagnosed that the engine valve springs failed and a piece of the valve spring fractured. The valve spring fell into the cylinder head and damaged the short block where the pistons were connected, along with an oil leak to the spark plugs. The valve spring and short block needed to be replaced and the cylinders resurfaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was serviced per nhtsa campaign number: 10v309000 (engine) for the engine valve springs in july of 2017 by the dealer (lexus of concord, 2001 market st, concord, ca,94520); however, the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided case number: 1709051152, which was an extension from a different case number. The contact was awaiting a call back from the manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

The contact owns a 2007 lexus is 350. The parts to do the repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

Today while driving my is 350 on the interstate, it lost compression quickly and black smoke appeared from beneath the car. It continued to slow and stop running. It would not start againmy 2007 is 350 has about 85,000 miles.i called aaa and it was put on a flatbed tow and dropped off at a lexus dealership.i'm waiting to hear what the cause is and the cost.have others reported this issue?

This is the first brand new car i've ever purchased and keep it in a garage during the day since i have to drive a work vehicle between daytime hours.the garage is not air condition but does not get extremely hot.the soft rubber interior has deteriorated and gotten very sticky and brittle.it can be rubbed away with a quick swipe of your finger.its affecting my driver side interior door trim panel at the grab handle. Its constantly falling apart and getting gummy residue on my hands.this is the only issue with this car and its not fair to us customers because this is a very evident manufacturer defect.i never received a notice or was informed of any action they would provide for this flaw.

Went into a grocery store when i came back 5 minutes later i turned on the car and went to ouch the navigation screen when it first did not work. Has not worked ever since many others have the same issue.

The speedometer needle and tachometer needles are led lights that are supposed to be illuminated. In warmer climates there is a very high rate of failure well inside of the 100,000 mark. The led lighted needle fail, hence you can no longer note your speed. There are numerous complaints on line and 3 or 4 vendors that specialize in the repair because it is so prevalent. Not being able to see your vehicle speed at night is certainly a safety issue.

Low beam headlights keep going out. I have directional headlights that when i turn my vehicle on, my lights will turn on (if dark enough out)and they move pointing down and then up. While driving they also do this and go left to right. Well when i first start my car they both work. As soon as lowbeams move straight to down and then to up, on up movement my driver side cuts out. Does not turn back on.

Fuel line failed, causing fumes and potential fire/explosion hazard. Lexus dealership and corporate has been notified, but refused to issue recall despite issuing recall on other associated parts.fule line replaced by lexus: part 75880

The contact owns a 2007 lexus is 350. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 14v647000 (fuel system, gasoline), 13v395000 (engine), 13v030000 (visibility/wiper),11v029000 (fuel system, gasoline), and 10v309000 (engine and engine cooling). There was a fuel smell in the front engine area and cabin of my car - dangerous and obvious risk of fire -the vehicle was taken to lexus of clear lake who has stated the leak is directly from my top fuel rail and has nothing to do with the recalls on the fuel system one in particular coming out that is due to "anti corrosion plating remnants causing the fuel pressure sensor to leak" how could the potential leaks or causes of them not effect the rail as well if its causing deterioration or "degrading" of other components in the fuel system - this part breaking down is a definite fire hazard and safety concern that should be looked at. Due to the safety issue and concern of driving the car elsewhere to have the vehicle diagnosed was 450.00 to even see if it was related to the recall at which time it was found the fuel rail itself was faulty and leaking with a now bill of 1000.00.

Vsc light comes on randomly and sometimes stays on for days. Abs light comes on with it and check engine light. Very unsafe when it happens i have been turning and the traction will cut out. Because of this issue we do not drive the car in the rain.

The cold idle speed on my car is between 1000 and 1500 rpms.at certain speeds, this causes the car to slowly accelerate with the foot off the accelerator.every other car i've driven will decelerate with the foot off the accelerator.this causes me to ride the brake at city speeds to maintain a safe speed, with the brake signals potentially confusing to other motorists.additionally, when navigating snowy or icy parking lots & streets, hitting a slippery patch under the high cold rpms will cause the car to temporarily break free of the breaks, spin the wheels, and lurch forward.the car is equipped with winter tires.this is not a single occurrence, but happens whenever the car is driven while cold.

The foot rest next to the brake and acceleration broke-off (its plastic) and lodged between the brake pedal and floor board. Luckily i was not moving at a high speed and was able to coast to a stop.

My interior is melted and has stainedand ruinednew expensive clothing . Its also reflecting sun from dashboard to windshield making it hard to see on sunny days. Its horrible because the rest of my car is in great shape and well kept condition.

I have a 2007 car with 77,000 miles on it.in july of 2011, i noticed that the dashboard was getting sticky and shinyand had the start of a small crack in it.over the next few years, the crack got huge and spread.at this point i can actually peel parts of the dash off by hand.the plastic on the dash looks like it is melting, it is shiny and sticky to the touch. Another issue i have with my car is the rubber gaskets in all the windows are melting.the seal hasn't been compromised yet but it leaves nasty streaks on the windows when i go to roll them down. I never have clean windows. I do live in florida and it gets super hot here but the other cars (non-lexus) that we own do not have either of these problems.i really loved my lexus when we purchased it, but i am super disappointed in it now, and the fact that because it is no longer under warranty, they won't cover it being repaired.i'm not even sure it;s worth it at this point.unfortunately, i will never buy another lexus ever again.

The dash has become sticky along with the other parts made from the same material. I have not done anything that would have caused this issue. It is a manufacturer defect.

Melting dash and door panels.

Lexus has produced cars with defective interiors that only last a few years. For an expensive luxury car that is supposed to represent quality this is unacceptable. Cars that cost half the price do not have this problem after 10 even 20 years.if you just got into your china-made toyota camry only to notice that your door panel has inexplicably melted, it's probably not your fault and the problem is going to be fixed for free.as i am told by employees of lexus, the corporate office of lexus is well aware of the problem with the material used in the cars lexus produced in 2007.as the car sits in the sun the door panels start to melt. This makes no sense for a luxury car to have this type of problem.i am requesting that the door panels be changed under my extended warranty even though this should not fall under any warranty repair due to the fact this is a factory defect.

Dash is melting causing a glare making it hard to see. I was very upset when i purchased my lexus is350 and saw the dash starting to melt. Lexus is suppose to be a luxury car but i find it hard to be true with the lack of attention to detail when it comes to the dash and door panel melting. I am only 5'0 tall and no matter if i raise my seat up down back forward the melted dash makes a glare on the windshield making it very hard to almost impossible to see on sunny days. I drive 100 miles for work 5 days a week and i find myself often having to duck down near the steering wheel just so i can see out my windshield.this is a safety issue that needs to be dealt with and took care of completely. Toyota do you want to be the one to call my child when i wreck my car due to a "melting dash" causing a terrible glare making it hard to see and drive??

I am absolutely disappointed that after seven years the dashboard and door panels of my is350 have melted! these parts became sticky, glossy, and extremely unsafe. I have done my best to keep my car looking new. I thought when i bought this car i was buying quality and high end material. I've only ever used a soft rag to clean the interior, so this makes me upset and unhappy with the quality and lack of support. I thought that by having the platinum service agreement and lexus knowing about this problem, theywould have done something to remedy this issue. It's such an ugly feeling to know you've purchased an expensive, luxury car and this happens. Then, i have to pay for it! this is a huge concern for quality and safety.

Dashboard is sticky and shiny, i complained to the dealership but they did not repair the defect. Dealership stated they have seen many of the same model vehicle with the same problem, but lexus has not issued a recall. I feel this material is hazardous as it makes driving difficult since it causes a strong glare.

The side panels and dashboard were melting away and falling in pieces. I contacted the dealer and after a long fight, they said that lexus agreed to replace to defective parts, even out of warranty but i have to pay labour for over $ 1000.00

The contact owns a 2007 lexus is 350. The contact stated that the plastic components of the door panels and dashboard began to slowly melt over the course of time, exposing a shiny coat that blinded the contact when the sunlight would reflect from the coating.the vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis and the contact was informed that the door panels and the dashboard would need to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 59,000 and the current mileage was 63,957.

The contact owns a 2007 lexus is 350. The contact stated that the dashboard was sticky causing a glare to reflect onto the windshield causing a visibility issue while driving. The contact informed lexus of westminister (7600 westminster blvd, westminster, ca 92683) of the failure and was referred to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer informed the contact that there was a customer support letter mailed out to in 2015 and expired in 2017. No further assistance was provided. The contact stated that she never received the letter. The contact stated the failure was a safety issue because the light from the dashboard was reflecting onto the windshield and reducing her visibility while driving. The failure mileage was 71,348.*dt consumer stated dealer and manufacture is aware of the defects.

Well from my understanding the interior ( dash board and door panels-all four) were to be replaced due to a recall; they all had this sticky residue on them.they have completed the dash board but not the door panels.it has been quiet some time and whenever i call all i ever get is that they have 3 panels and they're just waiting for the fourth one to come in.i've even called the corporate office of lexus and they don't seem to have any control over this either.the place where i take my car to is chatham parkway lexus located @ 1120 chatham parkway, savannah, ga. 31405 (912) 231-0005.

The foot rest next to the brake and acceleration broke-off (its plastic) and lodged between the brake pedal and floor board. Luckily i was not moving at a high speed and was able to coast to a stop.

I am worried about how the vehicle safety will be affected by such a sticky surface covering the air bags. Lexus dealership was of no help, this needs to be a recall!

Surface of dashboard plastic material melted in front of the driver seat and became shiny, causing glare which is blinding the driver when driving in full sunlight. This happened over the course of last year, in spite of the car being kept in the garage and not exposed to excessive temperatures. The dealer will not replace the dashboard. I learned that two lawsuits were filed against toyota/lexus in 2014 and 2017 and my car is among those toyota/lexus accepted under a "customer support program" (ze6) to replace about 3.5 million dashboards that melt, but since this was not a recall i was not made aware of it. I am requesting toyota/lexus to replace my melting dashboard free of charge as this is a clear safety hazard - picture attached.

Vehicle dash is deteriorating/breaking down and the glare is so bad it is difficult to see out of the windshield as the glare reflects onto the windshield - in warm weather the dash is very sticky and gummy and almost impossible to clean or wash as everything sticks to it - this is a known issue as i have seen several other complaints and blogs - lexus should definitely do something about the deterioration of the material used in their dashes causing a definite safety issue.
