Hit side road on highway that was gravel. Turned wheel to get back on highway and suv rolled 1 1/2 times - had taken it in a couple years prior due to back wheels not being stable on gravel roads and was told the stability control was fine which it wasn't.
While i was driving my vehicle the vsc, abs, and etc lights came on,this is not the first time that this had happened, the lights has came on before while at a stop light and in park.the vehicle now will not go into gear it only stays in park.it still will start but can't drive because it won't go into gear. The car also was pulling to the side while driving and on several occasions it would not start at all for whatever reason .i searched google and youtube and someone said to unplug the battery for 30 minutes and it should start and it did. I forgot what they said the cause of it,i think they said the ems needed to be reset.i don't think these things should be happening but every time it does it happens in the same pattern and we have to reset the ems .the gear just recently malfunctioned this week.i think this is very dangerous and someone needs to investigate this asap before something bad happens. I have not contacted lexusbecause it is pointless and they will not do anything about it,i should know from past experiences with them.
Height control for rear air suspension bottoms out and the vehicle bounce violently while driving and the control switch for the height is stuck in neutral
I am the owner of a 2006 lexus gx470 (vin [xxx]). A month or so ago, at or about 56,500 miles, the check engine light came on along with about three other yellow warning lights.also, the engine went into a mode that barely allowed me to drive down the road. On or about january 27 of this year, i limped to the lexus dealer for inspection. As the attached report indicates, my vehicle was diagnosed with a failure of the secondary air system with a repair estimate of $2,114.60. (see page 9 of the attached autopoint fitness inspection & treatment plan).after research, it appears that this problem is very common with this engine type.i would assert that mine is a defective vehicle. It seems the secondary air pump (part of the emissions system) is defective and deteriorates, causing the entire system to stop working. This then causes the engine control system to reduce the engine to a "limp mode" that is dangerous and dysfunctional.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
I own this lexus 2007 gx470, at 120,00 miles has a completely overhauled and now 143,000 miles all yellow warning lights illuminated that including "engine" the engine starts make noise and king of dragging somthing, after diagnostics. "the secondary air injection system switching valve stuck open both one and two" i called dealer and total parts cost me $1,200 not include labor yet. That's ridiculous.

The sunroof door is rusted all over the metal surrounding the glass on the inside of the vehicle. The roof of the car is ok but i fear the rust will eventually get there. My concern is that the sunroof door might get detached while driving and may cause a serious accident. I have spoke to the local lexus dealer and they say there is no campaign or recall on the issue. My car is always in the garage while not in use and there is no leak on the door so i believe is a problem with the material used on this model. I have another lexus a 2000 gs 400 and the sunroof door is in perfect condition. I have spoke to other gs 470 owner and they have the same problem. I will appreciate from you to investigate why is this happening with this model before there is an accident because of this problem. Thanks.
Height control for rear air suspension bottoms out and the vehicle bounce violently while driving and the control switch for the height is stuck in neutral
The air suspension system does not function properly causing the vehicle to bounce aggressively.sometimes the problem rectifies itself and the system miraculously begins functioning again with proper fill of the air suspension bladders or proper sensor control.i am aware that this is a common failure of this model vehicle and year. So much so that there are companies dedicated solely to selling only air ride suspension systems/components and air suspension conversion systems to completely eliminate the air suspension from your vehicle and convert to traditional spring suspension. This is certainly a hazard and has caused the vehicle to bounce in fast and slow speeds. Control of vehicle on freeway at 70 mph becomes intimidating.
Vehicle vibrates at highway speeds. Dealership attempted repairs without success. Dealership advisor said they could not properly diagnose problem.
Dash is cracking
Dashboard/cover cracks over the (1) odometer assembly and (2) glove compartments.these may affect the air bags in those areas. I bought this used at around 95000 miles on january 20, 2018 from infinity berman la salle st chicago illinois.i read there were previous reports on dashboard for earlier gx470 but this is not covered. Carfax report for this vin does not have reported accident or damage.
When i pressed the gas to go in reverse in my 2007 lexus gx 470, the car accelerated far more than i was pressing on the gas pedal.the car continued to accelerate even when i removed my foot from the accelerator, and eventually collided with a concrete pole.about a month prior to the incident, i had taken the vehicle to the dealer because the brakes were making a scraping sound, but the dealership "could not recreate the problem."after the incident, i promptly reported the issue to lexus and left the vehicle untouched for nearly 2 weeks, awaiting investigation.lexus promised to contact me within 10 business days to investigate, but did not do so.
The contact owns a 2007 lexus gx470. The contact stated that while in park, the engine rpms raced to 7500. The contact had to turn the vehicle off and restart it in order to correct the failure. The vehicle was not inspected by a dealer nor repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure and the current mileages were approximately 51,000. The vin was unavailable.
After removing foot from accelerator and applying brake while parking, the vehicle accelerated as if the gas pedal was pushed to the floor. My wife had the brake pushed as hard as she could but was not able to stop the car before it hit an embankment. She slid into the dash and steering wheel and was sore for a couple of days. She had a passenger who witnessed the event.
On 8/15/09 i was in my 07/lexus/gx470/wgn v-8.i had parked in our hospital parking lot where i volunteer. I was moving my vehicle from the w side of the parking lot to the e side of the lot to enter another area of the hospital.my aunt was with me the auxiliary president walked down the sidewalk to meet us.i drove to that area slowly came to a parking space was slowly pulling into the space, a few feet from the sidewalk my car went absolutely wild and crazy, it sound and actedlike an angry violent animal, it jumped the sidewalk, i managed to miss a tree that was in its path, it went up a grassy area along the sidewalk headed for the front of the hospital, i threw the car out of gear and it stopped.we were not hurt, the auxiliary president witnessed this as she was walking down the sidewalk.i cannot described to you how i felt, there are no words to describe this horrific experience, my aunt and auxiliary president were also speechless and horrified.islowly drove home in the vehicle, immediately calledlexuslittle rock, ar which is where i purchased the car.they told me it had to be the floormat, i checked it and it is secured with gromets,, theytold me it had to driver error which i don't think it was, i had my foot on the brake, they said i most probably had it on the gas also. I cannot prove that i did or i didn't, i did not look down,, i was trying to stop the car.the car did dig up sod when it was going crazy along the sidewalk whatever that means.i had roadside take my car in they lexus checked it out, found nothing wrong.i have driven it since no incidents.my invoice does not show i had a problem, called my dealer last week to voice my concern about all the recalls, ask why sudden accelerationwas not documented on invoice, he stammered said well it says your brakes were spongy and grabby, also a complaint ,but that was definitely not why my car was hauled in.would you please document this and do you have any advice.
