2010 lexus gx 460 staling after stopping.after pulling on to main road, just barely intotraffic, the car will maybe move 5mph for aprox 3-4 sec.i have the accelerator floorboarded and then the car zooms rapidly.this has happened a few times, i called lexus corp and they said they didn't know of any other problem similar.i barely avoided 1 wreck the first timethis happened to me.i was hoping it was just a freak occurrence.of course, after a few occurrences i knew there was a real problem and lexus was not telling the truth.my phone call was in august 2010.the final situation occurred when i pulled out in a road construction site near my house.i waited for what i thought was a safe time to enter traffic, as it is a very busy highway.after entering the highway, my car stalled and a semi was coming right at me.i had no recourse, but to wait for power.just in the knick of time- my car went zoom-very fast.. A wreck was averted, but barely.this car is dangerous.i was almost killed.lexus says, they think they have a fix.really.i am absolutely terrified after 2 very close calls, one of which would have killed me.i want a real fix. I am reporting this in hopes that you will demand lexus take this car off the road until it is really fixed.no one should be killed, especially when the problem is well know.

Hello, i am an owner for 2010 gx 460 and experienced a problem where the car stalls or does not accelerate when flooring the gas pedal when making turns or rolling stops.the dealership stated this is a known issue and lexus is working on a fix, however this is dangerous when this happens in the intersection... I am working with lexus corp to see what i can do before a fix is found.this issue happens pretty consistently in the situation described.

Two problems with the suv. One is that when you are at a stop after a whileyour foot is on the brake the brake pedal seems to go in just a little and the car moves forward, the other problem we believe started when they fixed the roll over problem with the suv. Every once in a while when you are stopped and put your foot on the accelerator nothing happens until you put your foot down hard.

2010 lexus gx460.after driving in reverse, and putting the vehicle into "drive" the vehicle may stall if you apply the gas pedal too quickly.i've never had this problem with any other vehicle.i just brought it to lexus for this problem and they said it was normal. This condition almost caused me a serious accident.i had to back into a street which had poor visibility due to hills.after backing up i noticed another car coming over the hill right behind me, so i quickly put the car in drive and applied the gas to avoid an accident, and my vehicle stalled and the other car had to go into the other lane to avoid a collision.i notice my car also hesitates and almost stalls every time i back out of my driveway and start to move forward.

Every time when i apply brake i hear "squeaking" noise from the brake pedal, as per lexus this is normal noise and nothing they can do. I even opened a case for lexus headquarter but no luck.

I have a 2010 lexus gx 460, and when braking the brakes require alot of pressure to bring the car to a stop. When the car is also at a stop it requires alot of pressure on the brake to keep the car stopped or else the car will lurch forward. I did some research online, and found that their are other lexus gx 460 owners with this same problem. I brought my gx 460 in for a fix twice already, the first time they said they bled the brakes which didn't work, and the second time i brought it in they told me they adjusted the brake which felt better, but after a couple thousand miles of driving the brake is go back to its original feel.

The brakes on the vehicle do not work properly.the brakes feel extremely "mushy" as you are pushing down on them.in addition, while stopped at a red light, significant pressure needs to be held down on the brakes or else the vehicle lunges forward creating an unsafe situation.this was been an ongoing problem with the vehicle from day 1 and supposedly we are told there is no fix for it.we do not feel safe driving the vehicle as is.please advise.

Going around a traffic circle the back of the truck slides away and steering is problematic. It's a very disconcerting feeling. I keep hearing a knocking sound from the underside even over small bumps or rough road.

Sunroof exploded and rained pieces of glass into car while driving down highway:1 - was not struck by rock.there were no cars within 2 miles either direction.2 - sounded like a loud "pop."a loud, but dull noise - not a sharp sound like something striking car.3 - there is a hole in the center of the sunroof about 4x8 inches with the broken glass around the edges pointing up - looks like it exploded upward.the rest of the sunroof is now cracked safety glass.4 - road was smooth highway, temperature was about 85f, all windows on car were closed with ac on.

The vehicle has front-end vibrations at 60-65 mph (most noticeable in the steering wheel) like there is something loose or bad wheel balance.the dealer is not able to correct the problem through balancing, alignment, tire replacement, etc.replacing tires to a different non-oe didn't help as well which bring symptoms to be non-wheel related but mechanical.

While i was driving and almost home, the right front wheel of my vehicle exploded and the tire coming out of the wheel axle . My vehicle is lexus gx460.

I am writing to inform you of a potential significant safety defect in the 2010 gx 460 i recently purchased from lexus of huntsville. I purchased the car new on the friday the 7th of may. Over the weekend i found the car won't hold its place when stopped on an incline. In fact, the vehicle moves backwards unless i hold the brake down. I reported the problem to lexus of huntsville on monday the 10th and the car was taken in on wednesday the 12th for a maintenance check. Lexus of huntsville reports this is normal for lexus four wheel drive vehicles.i called the lexus national helpline on 12 may to seek a second opinion as i have owned several four wheel drive vehicles and all have held their place on an incline. I was told i would be contacted by the lexus gx subject matter expert shortly. On 24 may i called the national helpline a second time and was told after a thirty minute wait that the gx subject matter expert would call me back. As of today i have not heard back from lexus and i am concerned and surprised by the lack of feedback on this potential significant safety defect in the 2010 gx 460.

The check engine light and several other lights came on in my vehicle.once this happens the vehicle goes into safe mode and prohibits you from driving at normal speeds.i went off the road as i entered the freeway to avoid a semi because i could not accelarate.i discovered this same issue has been found on toyota models however lexus has not sent out notices and will not cover. There is a redesign for this air injection pump due to the information below.toyota has received reports of customer concerns regarding the illumination of the check engine light (malfunction indicator light) due to moisture/water in the air injection pumps and/or air switching valves in the engines of a number of these vehicles. To assist dealer in the diagnosis and repair of these vehicles a tsb has been released. Some of the vehicles covered by this tsb may be outside of the toyota new vehicle limited powertrain warranty due to age and/or mileage. To assure customers that we stand behind our product, we are offering a warranty extension on the air injection pumps and air switching valves on 2007 to 2010 tundra and 2008 to 2010 sequoia vehicles. The following vital information is provided to inform you and your staff of the program notification schedule and your degree of involvement. 1. Owner notification letter mailing date the owner notification will commence in late october, 2011.

I recently purchased a 2010 lexus gx 460 for my wife.i purchased it brand new at stevenson lexus in colorado.about 2 weeks ago our car developed a hesitation when accelerating from a stop.when you come to a complete stop and then try to accelerate, the car moves several feet, under idle, then there is no power and you are stuck in the road.the hesitation/stall lasts for 2-5 seconds.my wife and i have narrowly avoided several accidents.i took the car into larry h. Miller lexus in murray, utah on monday to have the car repaired.i spoke with adam campbell the assistant service manager.he said they were very familiar with the problem, it is a know problem to the model, they have several customers with the same problem, lexus acknowledges that it is a problem but they do not have a fix.they said any fix is a couple of months away at the earliest.they offered a loaner car until my was fixed if i wanted but it is smaller and is not tow capable.they also indicated that they had at least one other customer that left their vehicle at the dealership and refused to drive it until it was repaired.i contacted lexus national and they indicated they were working on a voluntary service campaign (no recall) but nothing was available at this time.they said they felt the car was safe to continue driving.i disagree and larry miller lexus supports that decision.the vehicle is now at the dealership.my car is three months old and has 6000 miles on it.it is covered by full factory warranty but we have parked it due to the serious danger it poses.lexus needs to recall these vehicles immediatelyplease let me know if you can be of assistance.

On december 12, 2017, about 5 pm. I was driving home from work. I heard a loud explosion. Thought i had blown a tire on the passenger side it was so loud it scared me. I pulled over on the side of the road immediately and called my spouse. While i was on the phone my spouse and i discussed what it could have been since no tire was blown. I picked under the vehicle couldn't see anything leaking or damage. I got back in the car with my spouse still on the phone and started the vehicle to check dummy lights on the - nothing there. I started the car and kept driving down the road i could hear air coming through my sunroof. Luckily the moon roof sliding door was closed so no glass had entered the inside. But could tell that the sunroof was shattered. I was driving home from work with no one near me in front or behind or passing for a good200 to 300 yd before i pulled over. It was a typical fall day like semi overcast but in the sixties and not windy. I wasin shock that the sunroof had shattered there was no construction no debris no badd weather wasn't hot or cold it was just crazy and scary.we had a difficult time finding a replacement glass. It was quite the debacle. The glass cost us over $900 through toyota with a shipment debacle that took almost 3 weeks to come in period then i had topay precision glass out of castle rock to install this for me. Which cost me another couple 100 bucks of course are deductible for insurance didn't cover in would have exceeded the cost to do so $1000
