I took my car into the dealer twice for the oil consumption issues during the period they offered it. I was turned away both times and only after the "repair period" ended was i informed that there was one to begin with. I've read about multiple people having the recall performed who had the same problem as me. My care now needs two to three quarts of oil per month and i was screwed out of my repair. Now we have the airbag light. I've read quite a few things online about temporarily repairing this airbag harness myself but thats not a solution to the actual problem. My children are in this vehicle daily and not having a fully functional airbag system is not at all safe.

This is extremely dangerous. My headlights keep going out. I've replaced the lamps and this wont fix the problem. I cant believe lexus is letting this continue with such a major safety issue of having non working headlights. They go on and off at all times. I've got kids and im terrified to drive any time close to night fall with them in the car. I notice they are on then 5 minutes later they flicker off. I turn the switch on and off and they stay on for a bit then turn off again. This is a major safety issue and it looks like its affecting many of us. Its so frustrating that i cant get a reason for it and i've gotten 3 different estimates on the repair for 5 different things. No on can tell me what the problem is they just want me to start replacing things for 1,000's of dollars and no guarantee that it will solve the problem. This is just ridiculous. Someone please help us.

My vehicle head light flickers on and off. When it flickers out, if you turn the light switch off and on, it turns the light back on. The light may stay on or flicker back out without knowing. I had the light bulb replaced, costing $275.00 thinking that was the issue. Weeks later, i was notified by a random person the same light was out. Again, turning the switch on and off, allowed the light to turn on, but later flickering out and on. I took the vehicle in to lexus, they first said it sounded like the light bulb was burning out, but later identified it asa component inside the light housing. To repair this, is a cost around $1,800.00 parts and labor, part is about 1,350.00. An issue with unstable headlights would be a safety issue on the vehicle. I believe the manufacture should have to recall a part which should last on average to any other vehicle on the highway. The cost to repair it, makes it even more of a safety issue, because most people will not replace the entire light assembly, if you can just turn the light switch off and on to start the light working again. What happens one minute the light is on, the next it is out? lexus, should be responsible for ensuring this is a stable component of the light assembly, not the consumer!

Transmission problem shifting from 1 to 3 and don't shift up more than that ,mechanic asked to change the transmission cause its major problem for this car .too many people complaining about that .

I am having transmission problem along with ecu problems. Car has rough down shifting problems whenin motion . After doing research many lexus gs models have those common issues.

Hello everyone -- i have 06 lexus gs300. I had a rebuilt transmission, new valvesix solenoids. Because i had harsh on the 2 to 1 downshift. That didn't fixed the problem, and they told me about the ecu the new computer will cost me $1550 on top of the $2200 i had to pay for the transmission and labor too. Their should be a recall notice. How can we alert lexus of this problem and shift the cost to them for their repairs?

The steering wheel locked up while coming off the highway. I had to pull over to side of the road and eventually have the car towed. The steering wheel is still locked this day. I can't turn it left or right. I could have gotten into a accident with the sudden lost of power steering to my vehicle

Vsc/check engine light on

Low engine oil condition with no evidence of leaks. Excessive oil burning and having to constantly check and add several times between regularly scheduled oil changes. Often observed by checking before warning indication. This could lead to major engine failure including sudden lockup, stall, overheating, thrown rods, etc.there is recent evidence and admission from lexus that the piston rings were defective upon manufacture.

Vehicle idling rough when coming to a stop. Consuming oil at high rate.car has actually stopped running while driving.i have been attempting to have this issue resolved with the dealer and lexus since the vehicle was purchased.

My lexus 2006 gs300 has misfire problem at 108355 miles, with error codes ps300, 301, and 302.spoke with dealership (longo lexus), and they told me the customer satisfactory program (csp) is already expired to free repair by lexus in 2016.if lexus has defective valve spring that caused the carbon build up, then they should send us the safety recall letter, and i have never received any.that's very irresponsible in their part.

I took my vehicle into lexus and they confirmed there was a problem with this exact year and make and model for the cars engine misfiring. Lexus has acknowledged there was a campaign to fix this very issue and have confirmed my car needs the work done but has said they will be of no service to me. This problem has been fixed for other customers in the same situation but i feel as though lexus is directly ignoring me for a serious problem.

Takata recall...my 2006 lexus gs300 has 131,467 miles & is excessively consuming oil. I was told by lexus that they want to do a diagnostic tests for $2300 to take the engine apart. This problem started last year and is worse now. The low engine oil light comes on after only approximately 2,000 miles. I had the oil topped off & went back in 1,000 miles & there was hardly any oil on the dipstick. On the lexus forum, this seems to be a common problem with the 2006 gs300 and lexus needs to take responsibility for issues happening with their vehicles. If the engine were to fail while driving this could be detrimental. There was supposedly a letter about old consumption sent out, but they never contacted me with a letter or at the dealership.

Takata recallheadlights turn on and off while driving it happens the whole time the lights are on sometimes they won't turn back on there is too many complaints for this not to be a recall

Headlamp (afs) does not work properly. Right headlamp supposed to be auto leveling does not work properly and faces to the ground. Asked the dealership to fix it while it was under warranty and was told they did. (afs) has never worked and right headlamp falls and faces to the ground and was told by another dealership how to fix it my self. Headlamps also would turn off at night and not work and was on a trip and had to wait until they wanted to turn back on again. The headlamp still today does not face at normal degree and cannot see on the right side very well. Total cost to replace the entire head lamp is over $1,200 and was told that warranty do not cover this ever since i have complained. There is also "supposed" to be a safe guard warning the driver that the headlamps are not functioning correctly and it does not work either. No alarms go off, no lights either. Searched the internet and have found the same thing as well. Head lamp flickers and headlamp facing the ground. Steering wheel also is never level and i have had it "corrected" but im told that it is "just the road" it is never straight. Brakes have to be pushed to the floor the pump is very loud and also am told its normal. Suspension has a banging sound as well since i have had the vehicle too.

Headlight randomly goes off without warning. Many owners of this make year and model have had the same problem. This should have been a recall. Cost 1,500.00 to fix

I have a lexus gs300 2006. The lights have been shutting off, turning off intermittently.it is usually the right side but also happens on the left side.you can fix the problem by turning the on off switch.however it will continue to shut off randomly.this is a safety hazard and needs to be addressed.it has been happening for over a year and lexus dealership says to replace just the bulb.the bulb is fine, something else is wrong.others have complained as well.

Please be advisedi smell a strongfuel odor coming in the carcompartment and outside the vehiclewent to lexus dealershipthey statement was it is a crack inthe fuel gasket.

I recently received an "important safety recall" notice from lexus on a car that we had traded in on a new lexus at the lexus dealership in bossier city, louisiana in 2012. I called the national number for lexus to tell them that i no longer owned this car. They said that their records showed me to be the last owner of record, and said that their information came from the state of louisiana. Upon receiving a second recall notice, i checked the lexus owners' site at www.lexusdrivers.com, where we are shown as owning our 2013 lexus, but no other. I called the local dealership and spoke with brandy kirkendahl, who handles registration paperwork. She told me that louisiana's site showed the 2006 car as having been traded in, and that i was no longer the owner, but was the last owner of record. The 2006 lexus had been sold to another dealer, and not registered again in louisiana. - here's a systemic problem: whomever now owns this car is not getting recall notices, unless they are having the vehicle serviced by lexus. That's probably unlikely, since lexus charges an arm and a leg for its services. This is an "urgent safety recall." it apparently involves the fuel pressure sensor sealing surface and gasket, and involves a risk of fire. This can't be the only vehicle without a known owner. I don't know whether this identification problem is unique to lexus or not.

The contact owns a 2006 lexus gs. The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 14v647000 (fuel system) and stated that the part needed was unavailable to perform the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Transmission needs to be replaced. Not shifting out of third and jerking

Transmission problem shifting from 1 to 3 and don't shift up more than that ,mechanic asked to change the transmission cause its major problem for this car .too many people complaining about that .

Takata recall.driver's side seat belt does not retract or operate properly.

Abs module unit failure does not provided proper pressure to brake on time ..very slow response time to brake ...

The vehicle lost the power on the middle of the road with battery light and brake light on. After towing the vehicle to near by auto repair shop, the mechanic replaced the alternator and battery light and brake light were off; however the steering wheel is 90 degree off the center plus warning lights including check engine light, afs light (blinking), traction control light were all on. The mechanic could not detect or correct this problem so i took the car to the lexus dealer and they could not detect what caused the wheel to turned and lights turned on and it costs me $575 to turn off all the lights and restore steering wheel to the original position. Since the warranty on the car ran out, the lexus corporate refuse to hear this issue and will not investigate the problem. I believe there is major flaws with this model and there was one previous recall related to steering wheel componant on this model.also, ls 460 model already has exact same recall issue with steering wheel going off the center to 90 degree after excerting some force.on other separate note, the rear suspension on both sides of my car are leaking, given that my car has only about 45,000 miles. Again lexus refuse to handle this issue since the warranty ran out. I paid close to $60k on this 2006 gs 430 and lexus had repeatly overlooked at these defective issues.

I am having transmission problem along with ecu problems. Car has rough down shifting problems whenin motion . After doing research many lexus gs models have those common issues.

The rear view mirror has developed black spots within the glass and is impossible to see out of it. There is tsb (l-sb-0043-16} but not a recall... The lexus belonged to my father that passed away and never really drove the car

While traveling at a rate of 40 mph i pressed the accelerator to go faster when suddenly the car hesitated and began jerking and slowing abruptly. Thank heavens no one was following me closely or i may have been rear ended.after this "brush with death experience, i have learned that lexus has had numerous complaints about their engines and transmissions. I am very concerned about driving the vehicle after my experience and after reading about other lexus owners who have had close brushes with accidents as well. Something must be done to hold this car maker accountable. It is clear at lexus their priority is profits over the safety of their owners.

Interior rearview mirror developed black markings throughout mirror making it almost impossible to visualize rearview traffic.the response from lexus is that the glass itself or the materials behind the glass are breaking down resulting in the functional loss of the rearview mirror which now has become dangerous for driving. Has been progressively getting worse over past several years.lexus is aware of this defect and occurs in a number of their older models but is not accepting responsibility for repairing or replacing mirror which costs the consumer almost $2000 for a new replacement which is financially unobtainable for many owners.

The rearview mirror on our vehicle started to show strange scratches on it which have started to spread over time. It has been almost a year now and you can barely see out of it because of the strange scratches. Went to lexus and they stated it is over $1,800 dollars to repair it even though it is simply a defect part. Had full warranty but they would not replace it because it is a mirror defect.

Over several years the rearview mirror has become discolored with rust colored spots and streaks which make impairs visibility.this was discussed with the dealer multiple times and most recently corporate; while they acknowledge the issue they refuse to issue a recall or replace the part.it is a safety issue and the problem is well documented among owners of gs and is vehicles.

Rear view mirror reflection is degrading and causing poor visibility, therefore affecting safety and resalevalue of vehicle. Lexus issued a tsb 0186-09 but no recall. It is a $2000 repair. We have owned 5 lexus vehicles, 3 purchased new, and only the 2006 gs 300, purchased new, is exhibiting this issue. This is an issue that has been reported by others.

The backing on the glass of the rear-view mirror has disintegrated encumbering visibility and diminishing the mirror's purpose and function. Lexus has a fix for this problem by replacing the glass but the dealers are not making it available. Instead, the dealers are forcing us to purchase a new mirror at a cost of $1400 plus tax and the cost of installation. Mirrors are a basic component of all vehicles and proper visibility while driving is a must. I don't think it is unreasonable to believe that the mirrors should last the entire life of the vehicle, especially on a luxury vehicle. Lexus should be replacing the glass at no cost.

My rearview mirror is complete deteriorated to a point that it can no longer see any object in the mirror. It has become a safety issuethe replacement mirror will cost more than $1800 from lexusit is a safety device not like radio or power window. We bought a lexus not pinto. What a disappointment!

My rear view mirror is complete deteriorated to a point that i can no longer see any object in the mirror. It t has become a safety issue.it is a safety device and it should be recall.

Inside rearview mirror has progressively developed black markings over past several years throughout the mirror obstructing my rearview vision in both daylight and after dark.very well documented by other lexus owners.lexus has not and is not planning on any recalls but this is a clear safety risk and has caused several close encounters as i had my vision obstructed and nearly caused several traffic accident due to obstructed view.have presented this concern to lexus numerous times but without acknowledgement that this is a safety concern but the replacement mirror is $1000.i am the sole owner since purchased new in 2005, garaged home and work, extremely well maintained at lexus dealership since new and with each service, it is discussed but without support for replacement.clearly is manufacturer defect in production and increasing safety concern.

Rear view failure to hold up it has dark spots and scratches inside of the mirrorcausing lack of visibility. I have not been in any accidents and do not want to be. I've reported this to lexus and they have done nothing to correct or replace deteriorating mirror.

Rear view mirror has rust in it and this makes it hard to see. This makes it hard to see either day or night.there are a large number of gs 300 owners with this same problem.you can also check this site to see other complaints about the same thing.
