Takata recall my car was involved in a accident and i was hit by the right side panel and thrown up against another vehicle and then slammed into a pavement wall on the freeway i was only traveling about 10 miles when i was struck by a car traveling 70 milesand my airbags did not deploy causing injuries to my arm resulting in me having to have surgery and now i have a rod in my arm for life don't understand why these airbags didn't deploy and if not then what wasn't the gs 350 on the list cause somewhere mines went faulty

While driving highway, without any impact on the car, no accident occured, airbag on passenger side deployed without any reason.

The contact owns a 2007 lexus gs 350. While the vehicle was occupied with the engine on and the gear shifted in park, the front passenger curtain air bag and the rear passenger air bag (located between the back rest area) abruptly deployed. The contact heard a hissing noise prior to the failure. There were no injuries. A lexus engineer inspected the vehicle at the lexus dealer (3150 adams street, riverside, ca, 92504 phone: 951-353-0903). The investigation concluded that the air bag failure was not caused by a manufacturer defect. The contact was also advised that the vin was included in an unknown air bag recall. The manufacturer was not notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 135,000.updated 09/20/17*lj

2007 lexus gs350 with unintended acceleration.the consumer stated while pulling into a parking space, the vehicle took off and jumped the cement divider and curb. It stopped only when it rammed the wall. The consumers foot was on the brake and the air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was purchased. After inspecting the vehicle to establish what happened, they determined that the vehicle was mechanically perfect. The consumer indicated the possibility of the floor mat shifting, but that was rejected. The consumer now believes the floor mat may have been the problem after all in light of the recent recall.

While driving highway, without any impact on the car, no accident occured, airbag on passenger side deployed without any reason.

2007 lexus es 350.consumer writes in regards to vehicle unintended acceleration.the consumer stated she experienced sudden acceleration for 2 miles, that took the vehicle from 60 mph to 85 plus mph. During the acceleration period, she could not slow down despite taking her foot off the accelerator and pressing the brake pedal repeatedly. The vehicle eventually slowed down on its on accord and decelerated. She was able to stop the vehicle. The consumer also noticed the tachometer needle usually registered between 2000 and 3000 rpm's, began to widely fluctuate between 2000-6000 rpms with no corresponding change in the vehicle engine sound.

The contact owned a 2007 lexus gs 350. While driving approximately 5 mph, flames appeared from the front passenger side of the vehicle without warning. The contact pulled over and the entire passenger side was engulfed in flames. The fire department responded and extinguished the fire. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and was not diagnosed; however, the vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 134,000.

My trunk not open with remote key or it not open with trunk release button near driver side dash board.[xxx][xxx]@comcast.netinformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'

I was driving at 55mph when lexus 2007 lexus gs350 suddenly accelerated. The g-forces pinned me to the seat. I was able to shift to neutral and hit brake in less than a second. I then disconnected negative pole on battery for 5 minutes and this resets the computer and surge temporarily ends. The process was described to me by a lexus dealer service manager for a previous lexus i owned.

Yesterday my test drive of the 2007 lexus gs 350 awd confirms thatlike its siblings and cousins (the lexus es 350 and the toyota camry), the gsgives no"error warning" when the "stop button" is pressed with the vehicle stopped with the brake applied and the vehiclein drive.there is no chime, no message to "put car in park", just total silence.if the driver releases the brake at this point and the car in on an incline, naturally itwill roll. Other manufacturer's (cadillac, bmw, infiniti) give a chime warning and/or a message to put the car in park.the bmw 535 actually corrects the problem by putting the car in park by itself in this situation. Hopefully, no one will be seriously injured or killed before lexus/toyota corrects this problem.why exactly are manufacturers quick to jump on the "gimmick bandwagon" to sell new products with an unnecessary "start/stop" button which is capable of defeatingthe keyed ignition-transmission interlock systemwhich prevents vehicles from being turned off in drive andhas worked well for over 40 years?a properly thought out "start/stop" button would(1) be left off the vehicle entirely(2) give an audible/ visible error warning if the button is hit with the car stopped and in drive or (3) insist that the button be activated only when the vehicle is in "park". I hope toyota/lexus does their homework better in the future and corrects this dangerous problem with a voluntary product recallbefore they are told to do it by the nhts.

I own a 2007 gs350 rwd, and it will not stop on wet pavement, dry pavement with wet tires, or in the snow, when the idle rpm is around 1000 or higher. While trying to come to a slow, gradual, stop the front wheels completely lock up while the rear wheels continue to push the car forward. Just when you think the car is about to stop it just keeps going. If you shift the car to neutral, while the car is sliding, the car stops immediately. You can press down the brake pedal as hard as you can, while the car is sliding, and eventually the abs kicks in and stops the car, however putting the car in neutral stops the car immediately. It has only happened while attempting to come to a gradual stop at an intersection, or while slowly pulling into a parking spot or garage. This problem can happen in reverse or drive. It is hard to duplicate the issue with the dealer because it only happens on a cold start in wet conditions, and the brakes work properly once the idle rpm drops to the normal operating range of around 600; it can take 10-15 minutes for the idle rpm to drop to around 600. The dealer states that this is just a characteristic of a rear wheel drive vehicle, more brake pressure is required, and the brake system checks out fine. I have owned several rear wheel drive vehicles in the past, have never had this problem before, and should not have to push on the brake pedal as hard as i can because the idle rpm is at 1500, 1200, and1000 instead of 750 or 600. Neither the dealer nor lexus have requested, or will let me present to them, any of my detailed notes of when it occurs, and will not try to duplicate the problem with me in valid conditions. Lexus and the dealer just connect their computer to the car, and tell me the car checks out; although, some error codes, which were not fully explained to me, did come up on the computer scan last time. There is definitely something wrong with this car! . Updated 03/03/11 updated 03/07/11

My car had several recalls on it i just recently started getting mail on the recall i got the first letter in feb and the secondat the end of march and it had to do with 3parts valve spring , actuator, valve varient timing the week after i got my 2nd recall letter my car just stopped working when i filled it with gas, but 2 days before that i was driving then vsc, engine , abs lights all came on and i lost power with no acceleration ,i took it to toyotaand it was diagnosed and i was told i needed the recall items (3) replaced, i then was directed to take it to lexus and they refused to honor the recall and the parts that causedmy car to break down. The recall parts which they wont replace i was told it was out of warranty and to many miles . So i was told i have to get the parts fixed that wereon recall in order for them to look at the car i spoke to corporate mrs judy combs she asked bobby rahal if they can assist with getting my car fixed because of the recall items and they declined instead i got a bill for 5427.00 if i wanted it fixed. And the service guy [xxx]told me the reason the car broke down is because of the recall items and he would love to fix it but his manager said no. So lexus refused to honor the recall and i have to get my car fixed in order for them to look at it. I was sent a invoice that said lexus the corporate office declined to help but it was the actual dealer that declined to replacethe recalled parts.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I received an urgent safety recall from lexus/ toyota motors regarding a no-charge replacement for a 2gr-fse intake vvt actuator gear.when i contacted lexus, they indicated that parts will not be available until march of 2014, (with no guarantee that they will have them at that point,) and that they would place my name on a waiting list.i find it unacceptable that i'm informed of a dangerous safety issue, then told i have to wait 4+ months for resolution.what is an acceptable amount of time that a manufacturer has to provide parts/ materials and perform repairs?please advise.

The contact owns a 2007 lexus gs 350. After taking the vehicle to the dealer to be remedied per nhtsa campaign number: 13v395000 (engine), it was diagnosed that one of the engine valves was bent. In addition, the engine's rocker was fractured and both the valves and rocker needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 88,000. The vin was not provided.

I bought a pre-owned certified 2007 lexus gs 350 in sept 2010, i was driving on a major highway when i heard a pop and the engine lost power. Luckily i was able to move to the corner lane to avoid a tractor trailer hitting me from behind. The car was then towed to the nearest lexus dealer, i was told by that dealer that a recall was performed just prior to my purchase of the vehicle and some screws were missing from the repair. Which cause an engine failure while i was driving. The lexus dealer that i bought the car from, insists they fix the new engine, the car was then towed to the lexus dealer from whom i purchased the vehicle. Now they are saying a chain was cut in the engine and they will just replace the chain and not the entire engine, i was expecting a new engine.

The contact owns a 2007 lexus gs 350. The contact was making a right turn, the engine stalled and then started when the vehicle lunged forward. The contact was making a turn and the traction control kicked in and the engine stalled in the middle of the road again. When taking his foot off of the accelerator pedal and then depressed it again, the vehicle responded normally. The contact informed the manufacturer and it took them two months to send a factory representative to inspect the vehicle. They informed him that they could not duplicate the failure. The contact took the vehicle to an authorized dealer and they refused to repair it stating that was the way it should function. The contact also had multiple problems with the outside mirrors when it enabled him to see outside of the vehicle. The dealer repaired both mirrors but had to repair them multiple times. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure was mileage 3,000 and the current mileage was 25,000.

Lexus gs 350 surge problems is temporarily eliminated by removing negative on battery cable for five minutes. At this point the computer seems to reset and auto will drive normal for a while. This tells me that perhaps other complaints for toyota, lexus are related to electronic throttle. I learned how to do this from lexus mission viejo california dealership service. The store was owned by toyota at the time, the carlsbad california lexus says they will not do this to stop surge but it works so why do they deny it????i have to do this constantly. I did have an accident right after dealer worked on surge issue.

The contact owns a 2007 lexus gs350.the contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign id number 09v020000 (engine and engine cooling).the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for repair; however, the necessary part was unavailable due to a massive back order.the technician was unaware of when the part would become available.the manufacturer was notified.the failure and current mileages were unknown.

The contact owns a 2007 lexus gs350. Whenever the contact drove the vehicle before it had time to warm up after a cold start the vehicle would hesitate and stall without warning. The dealerinformed the contact that the failure could not be reproduced and that there were no problems with the vehicle. There were no prior warnings. The current and failure mileages were 29000. Updated 07/08/10.*lj updated 8/24/10 the consumer stated the vehicle has since stalled two more times, since he last wrote in back in january. The consumer stated he would shift the vehicle in to neutral when the rpm'swent below 500. When the vehicle stalled, he lost steering capabilities, but the brakes continued to function enough to bring the vehicle to a halt.updated 08/26/10

Recently, toyota has officially filed a government recall on over 138,000 lexus models due to engine problems. The recall affects 2007-2008 lexus gs 350/450h, 2008 lexus gs 460, 2006-2008 lexus is 350, 2007-2008 lexus ls 460/460l, and 2008 lexus ls 600hl models. The problem stems from foreign material that may have contaminated the valve spring causing it to degrade and possibly break. If that occurs, the engine could fail and stop while the vehicle is in motion increasing the risk of a crash. (article from associated press dec. 23, 2010: los angeles ' toyota motor corp. Agreed to pay $10 million to the family of four people killed in a runaway lexus crash that led to recalls of millions of the automaker\\\'s vehicles, an attorney said thursday.the amount was released thursday by orange county lawyer larry willis, who represents the dealership that lent the lexus to the family, attorney jean-paul jassy said. Jassy spoke with willis and represented several media organizations, including the associated press, that filed a motion opposing efforts to keep the details sealed.) i leased a lexus gs350 several years ago (4/12/2007).my lease does not expire until 4/12/2012. I wrote lexus a letter stating that i would like to return my lexus gs350 to the local dealer and end my lease before the expiration date of4/12/2012.lexus responded by indicating that it would not let me return my car. Please assist me and order lexus to end my lease due to the unsafe vehicle they provided me.

This is a correction of complaint #10263748 regarding a "smart key" fault.i recently had the opportunity to drive a 2007 lexus gs equipped with their "smart key" , i.e. A key fob which can stay in your pocket and allow you to start the vehicle without requiring a key in the ignition. Similarly, i also drove a 2009 nissan murano equipped with the same type "smart key".i have found that both vehicles can be shut off and exited while it is inadvertently left in the "neutral" position.although a barely audible chime rings, a driver can exit the vehicle not realizing the vehicle can free-wheel on them and if thevehicle is on any type of incline, it will begin rolling away -- possibly as they are half-way out of the car or walking away!!i am astounded that there are no "neutral safety" controls on these new vehicles.standard key ignitions prevent the driver from removing the key in any position except "park" when they exit ... Not so with these new "smart key" cars!!i foresee many accidents occurring unless some correction is made in this "smart key option" -- think of a person trying to reenter a rolling vehicle, a child in a driveway, or a car rolling into an intersection!!i don't understand how a government vehicle safety organization would overlook this serious flaw.

Gs 350 brakes

2007 lexus gs 350.consumer writes in regards to passenger side floor gets wet when a/c is on.the dealer un-clogged a drain.

Low beam xenon headlight on drivers side intermittently shuts off. At times both low beam headlights flicker and shut off completely causing no vision at night. When the lights are switched off then back on they work once again but usually for a few minutes only. Also, there's always a strong gasoline smell in the car, while sitting still. Once the car is in motion, the smell seems to go away.

Low beam xenon headlight on drivers side intermittently shuts off. At times both low beam headlights flicker and shut off completely causing no vision at night. When the lights are switched off then back on they work once again but usually for a few minutes only.

I also have a headlight that has intermittently not worked. I run my lights on the auto feature. In the last 6 months, i have noted that the left headlight only turns on some of the time. I need to check it, turn the lights off, then back on to get it to work. Happens about 20% of the time and is a safety issue.about 3 years ago, someone followed me into a store and told me that my left headlight was out. When i left and turned the car on, then checked the headlights, they were working. I now realize that this is when it started.

I have a problem with a head light going out intermittently, and occasionally both bulbs and what appears to be the back bulbs too go out leaving my car completely dark, interior lights are sometimes included. A quick off/on of the light switch and the lights are back to normal. I will intermittently turn my lights off then back on so i can control the darkness. I love my lexus, but feel very unsafe in it, as the lights could go dark and i can't respond quick enough or oncoming traffic will not see me around a curve. I took the car in a couple of years ago to my lexus dealer, tom williams, and they told me the car battery was weak and causing the problem, shortly thereafter i did replace the battery, but that did not solve the problem. When i bring it to lexus, they only test it during the day. Still don't know what the problem is. I recently had the car in for the fuel system recall and they rechecked and said again they could not reproduce the problem, i felt like they were telling me i was lying.the most recent incident occurred with 102,000 miles on it, but it has been happening for several years since about 60,000 miles

I noticed the next day after i purchase the vehicle, that the right headlight was out but the rest were on. I called the dealer and told them about the problem and they told me to bring it in. The next day the lights were on so i didn't take it back. Since then, it happens every time i turn the lights on in the evening. I bought the car without an extended warranty, so i didn't take it back. Since then i have purchased an extended warranty through an outside company, but since i have seen this same problem on several cars similar to mine, i decided to report it before i decided to pay a deductible out of pocket. It's not just the right headlight, sometimes it's the right, sometimes it's both and the fog lights just stay on.

1. 2007 gs350 used for normal operation (apprx. 34,000-miles; serviced for 30,000-miles at lexus dealership 2 months prior).immediately after exiting the freeway, the car stalled.smoke was coming out from front of car.upon further inspection, fuel was spilling down onto the ground.car was towed to lexus dealership.2. The fuel hose connector somehow came "loose", thereby disconnecting the fuel hose connecting the engine and gasoline tank (connector & hose located visibly on left side of engine compartment), allowing gasoline to freely flow out.any electrical spark or accident could have caused severe fire damage and loss of life during this time.this warrants further question as to how durable the connector would be in the event of an accident.3. Lexus dealership found no defect with the hose and connector, other than the fact that it became disconnected.without any investigation into the matter, they have categorized this as a singular incident.they replaced the parts to "bring peace to our minds", but maintain that the parts are functioning correctly.asked as to how the fuel hose could become disconnected when there is no apparent defect to the parts, lexus provided the answer, "we don't know", and further adding "there is no issue since we replaced the parts".logical course of action would be to immediately investigate whether there is a design flaw in the system, but this does not appear to be the case with lexus.

Fuel feed line to passenger side fuel pump became disconnected while driving. Was stooped at the traffic light and start smelling gas, thought was coming from the front car. As light turned green start to move and engine stopped. Fortunately was on the down hill so car rolled to the traffic light and pulled over. Tried to start couple of time and gas was dripping under the passenger side engine. Was towed to the dealer and all they can find is fuel feed line to the fuel pump was disconnected inspected o-rings and pipe retainer which was found ok. Needless to say lucky for us that there were no spark otherwise it could have ignited the car. After back and forth conversation with lexus customer service, only assurance i can have is dealer can show me that the fuel pipe is connected well and there is no safety issue. My concern is what cause this failure and no dealer or lexus engineering have any idea. There was a recall regarding engine for this model and work was done by dealer about four months prior to this incident.

3/24/09, received a safety recall notice from lexus division, toyota motor sales, usa, inc. Torrence, ca about a replacement of fuel delivery pipes (fuel rails) i purchased a 2007 gs350 lexus fromputnan lexus, redwood city, ca 94063 about july 2007.3/23/09, called lexus of serremonte, coma, ca , 877 200-4498; talked to cindy at service dept; gave her the vin, my full name and home address. She told me it will be ready in about 5 days & then to arrange appt for repair. 4/1, about 2:35pm,talked to robin on status after being put on hold and transferred 2/3 times in about 18 minutes,i was told there was no record of any order for the fuel rails; cindy did not order the parts; they are having problem locating me in their records because i did not buy the car at serramonte; they have to find me through their national register ??? robin assured that the parts were being order and to call back in 2/3 weeks, due to several back log ?? 4/21, called serramonte again for status..talked to eva, x 2133, head of cashier/service dept; she has no record of me, no order and gave me the same reasons; 3000 cars back log, did not buy it from them, etc. She assured me again that she is creating a file and the parts will be ready in 2 weeks., .that is after i threaten to call the general manager. I am not at all satisfied with her answer either despite her promise to put my file on her desk!!!! i called putnam lexus, the dealer i bought the car from; talked to oscar pacheco, service consultant; i now have an appt for 4/29/09 at 10am with the required parts in store already. That tells me lexus of serramente lied to me 3 times about the order of the parts, grossly inefficient and not in compliance of your safety recall. Please do whatever necessary to enforce compliance. I am also sending a copy of this to lexus, toyota motor sales to investigate their own dealers unacceptable sales/service practice.

I received a recall notice about two months ago and after numerous calls to my local dealer, akron cantonlexus, nothing has been resolved, no replacement has been made and have not received any helpfrom my local dealer. The recall involves a potential fuel pressure sensor leak which i might think may be aserious issue to address especially since important safety recall notice is written in red ink!!

Received urgent safety recall notice (elf-potential fuel pressure sensor leak - can cause fire!).called dealership to make appointment to repair.they said they did not have the part, would have to order and call me to schedule appointment.could be as long as a month!unacceptable!why didn't lexus/toyota have enough parts ready to ship to accommodate the repairs?they know how many cars it affects and the recall came out in october of 2014.they had plenty of time to be ready & have the parts available to get them to the repair facilities in a timely manner.this is a safety issue and i don't feel real safe right now.

When starting the my car, 2007 lexus gs 350, the engine revved up to an estimated 5000 rpm for 5 - 10 sec then settled down to the normal idle (1000 rpm range).this was the first time this has happened.transmission was still in park, parking brakes still on. I am original owner/driver.the car has approximately 30000 miles.immediately took to the lexus dealer.diagnostics were run, no defects were detected.floor mat was not involved.i was simply starting the car, with the smart key, my foot has to be on the brake in order to start the car, thus impossible to be stepping on the accelerator.

The design and failure of the rear brake calipers, the rear brake calipers constantly rust and seize making them stick and cause a safety issue because the brakes will lock and start smoking. Even after repair the brakes will seize again after a year or sometime sooner. It is a known defect by lexus but still not covered as a recall/safety issue.

While undergoing normal preventive maintenance by the selling authorized lexus dealer, the car was noted to have "... Both rear caliper slides ... Seized" resulting in the need to "... Replace(d) rear pads and rotors due to calipers being seized." the servicing dealer informed me that this is a common problem in all lexus models that they service and, in their opinion due to inadequate lubrication of the rear caliper slides, which they are generally able to correct by removing and relubricating the slides or, if necessary, by replacing the calipers.

I lease a 2007 lexus 350.when i brake, the car often jerks dramatically to the right.it is not 100% of the time but often.my brother, an engineer at honda drove the car in november and suggested it was a computer issue.i called lexus and took the car in for maintenance.they at ray catena lexus told me i needed new brake pads and tires.i replaced the brake pads.the car's tires are still fine.the issue is still happening.the service team at ray catena told me they could not see any reason for the jerking and could not recreate it when they test drove the car.i have brought the issue of alignment and jerking to them in 2 separate maintenance meetings in 2009.while i indicated the date my brother drove the car and noticed the issue, the issue is present on a regular occurrence.(i don't know what kind of brakes are involved:hydraulic? electronic?air?)

2007 lexus gs350 sudden acceleration. This is similar to reports on file on lexus 2007 es350. The gs350 will drive around in parking lot without pressing on gasoline pedal at 12-15mph. At speeds of 40mph a slight pressure on gas pedal causes acceleration to 50-60mph. I am forced to drive it with triptronic transmission to slow vehicle because excessive brake pressure required to stop it. This in on-going issue.

While attempting to enter a plaza by making a right turn, i tried to step on the brakes while turning, but the car jerked into a sudden acceleration.suddenly, the car accelerated because the brakes didn't work.i crashed up into the curb and into a tree and into a parked car.with such impact and force, my car pushed the parked car to the next parking lane, thus damaging the car parked next to the first car i hit.therefore, the first car i hit was completely destroyed and the second car had some dents and damages. My car is still in the body shop and still needs to be fixed.

While driving down the road at varying speeds i have noticed that the outside mirrors on my car change position without any input on the switch.during the week or so prior to the first time that this occurred, i had noticed that when returning to the car after leaving it parked overnight that the mirrors, and often the driver's seat would be out of their set memory position.selecting the memory switch would return the seat and mirrors to their preset position.however this has now progressed to where the mirrors will change position while the vehicle is in motion.the driver's mirror will not change position dramatically, however the passenger side mirror will frequently tilt up to nearly the full extent of its' travel and without any warning or input from the driver.this has led to several occasions where a quick glance, especially at night, did not show an obstruction on the passenger side of the car and nearly led to an accident.i have complained twice about this to one lexus dealer, tri county lexus, and once to another lexus dealer, lexus store of lexington.neither claimed to be able to duplicate the problem, but i did point out to the lexus store of lexington when i picked my car up that the passenger mirror was tilted fully up and therefore useless to view the side of the vehicle.as i have pointed out to both dealers, pressing the memory recall button numerous times will eventually bring the mirror back to the set memory position.now that the vehicle has passed its' 50,000 mile new car warranty lexus claims no further responsibility for this or several other concerns which i raised during the warranty period, one of which i just paid $569 for out of pocket to repair.this is a safety hazard and i would like my vehicle to be repaired.
