Lexusinboxx[xxx] <[xxx]@gmail.com>10:23 am (0 minutes ago)to mei own a 2011 lexus es 350. On 12/10/2015 i was parking in a church parking lt when suddenly my car roared like an airplane and surged up a hill through an iron gate at a cemetery, downing a stone pillar and finally coming to a stop on top of a headstone. I cannot describe the sheer panic iexperienced. My first thought was thank god no one was in front of me. The previous day i picked up my 5 yr old granddaughter at her elementary school. Children could have been killed!!!! i can never drive this car again. I believe it will be totaled anyway. It's at eddie's auto body in moodus, connecticut. I retired 2 1/2 yrs ago from p&w aircraft as a performance engineer to buy the car of my dreams which turned out to be my worst nightmare. Following are other examples of the same issue. Takata recall-lexus of bakersfield has not been helpful-no idea when they will get their replacements and still insisted that we not have anyone in the passenger seat.they offered a rental car but it wouldn't be a lexus.this is taking way too long to inconvenience their customers.

"takata recall"; it has been 14 months since original recall notification from lexus; may 2016. No further updates have been received. I live in the sw florida climate which is classified as most dangerous for possible explosion. Www.safercar.gov still lists no solution yet. This needs some strong government involvement

Takata recall.always have passenger seating in the front seat. Call lexus 1 800 255 3987 two times in 12/2016 and 03/2017 and was told remedy date is unknown and it will take a long time. And in the recall, there is a statement saying:"you do not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat"

Takata recalli received a recall notice june 9, 2016. On october 3, 2016 i spoke with laurie who alleged that i was in zone a which would be among the first to be repaired (anticipated date of repair the first of the year). I called back on 1-11-17 and spoke with joel. The dealership had not rec'd the parts, they have not heard from takata. In the interim i have been asked that no one sit on the passenger side until the issue is resolved. I should continue paying for a luxury vehicle that they have asked no one sit in. It is my belief that neither lexus or takata intend on remedying this defect. I am outraged that in almost a year absolutely nothing has been done. Yet, lexus still expects payment.and, to add insult to injury they have put, in writing, that the vehicle is not safe. In writing: high temperatures and humidity (state of georgia) cause the issue to worsen. Does the nhtsa deem this appropriate?

Takata recallreceived a recall notice in july 2016.received no contact from the manufacturer about scheduling repairs.contacted the manufacturer in march 2017.i was told that they had no immediate plans to replace the airbags due to lack of replacement parts.my vehicle is seven years old, and based on the information published regarding degradation of the original airbags, i understand that my vehicle is in greater danger of having defective and possibly dangerous airbags.as a result, i requested a replacement or loaner vehicle until repairs could be made to my vehicle and was told i would be contacted by a local dealer representative to arrange one, but was never contacted thereafter.manufacturer case number is 1701061699.

This web site (the nhtsa) says there is no recall on this vin, but toyota/lexus site says there is, for the airbags. This misleading information on a government web site can be dangerous.

Takata recall/no lexus remedy availabledue to the fact that lexus had no plan in place to handle the air bag recall and i did not want to be behind the wheel of a ticking time bomb, i felt that it was in my best interest to trade in/sell my lexus. I ended up trading my lexus instead of selling it because i had to inform any perspective buyer of the pending recall and what it entailed.i ended up trading for a 2014 toyota camry se and in doing so cost myself approximately $2000.00 to $2500.00 because i did not get the true value for the trade in which was listedbetween $18,000 - $18,500 in all of the recognized appraisal companies i checked and had tosettle for a $16,000.00 trade in value due to the recall notice still affecting my lexus. Takata recalli received the airbag safety recall in june 2016, and i have not been able to use the front passenger seat of my car since then.i have not received another update about the remedy for the potentially deadly and exploding airbag in my car, and it has been four months.local auto dealerships do not know the timeline for replacements, either.this is awful.i need to be able to transport passengers in my front seat.

Takata recall the nhtsa recall no. 16v-340.dealer, henessey lexus, located on satellite blvd., duluth georgia, committed to february 2017 airbag replacement and did not follow through. They have now moved the timeline to october 2017 at the earliest which iscompletely unacceptable and they offered no alternative. Please advise what action can be taken to ensure the airbag replacement is completed asap as we are very concerned about the ongoing safety issue.thanks you,[xxx][xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'

"takata recall" i received a letter may 23, 2016 that the takata airbags were defective and to wait for instructions. I called lexus july 19, 2016 and asked when the replacements would be available "we don't know" was their answer. Nhtsa should have the authority to tell takata you will put no air bags in any new car sold in the united states until you have fixed all of the "takata recalls". I need a whole car with my family. I went to buy a new car (not a lexus) because of this problem and was offered less money for my trade in because of the "takata problem". If nhtsa does not hold takata's feet to the fire, then nhtsa is protecting takata and americans. (undated) takata recall; nhtsa no. 16v-340 received from lexus several months ago.upon inquiry, was told front passenger air bag should be replaced "in the third quarter of 2017".several other inquiries have received no response.my car lives in florida--high humidity--and is old--2011.

Nothing has been done to fix the issue and it is a safety concern every time there is a passenger they ride in the back.

Takata recall. Today's date: 01/27/17. I'm filling this complaint in regards to the takata airbag recall. I am upset and dissatisfied that no remedy/solution has been taken regarding this issue. I received a letter back in june 2016 about this recall and also a couple pages of faq. I called up my local dealership today, and was informed the parts to fix this recall issue are still not available. According to the safety instructions listed on the recall notice: "until the remedy becomes available, we recommend that you do not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat."how much longer must my four-person passenger car remain a three-person passenger car? how much longer must so many others and myself have to wait for this issue to be fixed? how much longer must i drive my car and have to worry about possibly getting into an accident and having shrapnel propelled at me from my passenger seat air bag? the wait time for the parts to be issued to resolve this recall is absurd.

Takata recall-cannot get dealer to return calls as to the priority status for the repair for my vehicle. In july 2016, my service rep told me that there was a priority list and he had put my vehicle on it but i still see your site indicates there isn't a resolution for the problem. Lexus continues to produce new safer cars, without repairing older ones which is ridiculous for owners who are riding in time bombs. Today's news reports are stating that those of us with recalls should be able to find out our repair status now so i need help because it is a risk for my passengers and me that should not have been allowed to happen.

Takata recall - was notified over a year ago, with understanding for high concern in geography containing high humidity and heat. I live in sc and have not been contacted yet to fix this problem.

Takata recall. Over a year to rectify the air bag problem?!come on,this is just absolutely ridiculous! i find it offensive that lexus even suggests that no one sit in the passenger seat until the problem is fixed...really?!lexus should compensate their customers for the anguish and time associated with this problem.one of the reasons i bought a lexus is because of minimal safety concerns...will definitely consider this issue when purchasing a new vehicle in the future.

Since i did not received a call from the service manager i called back and was told that my vehicle was safe to drive and i would not get a loaner car.i was also told thatif i had any other concerns to call lexus customer service .i called lexus customer service and explained that it is totally unacceptable that i cannot use my passenger front seat without the risk of injury or death to the front seat passenger.i regularly travel with 4-5 other passengers in my vehicle.again, i was told that i was not at risk because of the area in which i reside.that being the case, i requested a hold harmless letter from toyota motor corporation.the customer service representative said he would send me an email which he did but it did not address my specific needs or concern

Takata recall. I have taken my vehicle in for an airbag replacement due to notification of recall on jen 16, 2017 and was told the remedy is not yet available. It is now roughly 8 months later and they still do not have a remedy ready for my vehicle. This is beyond unacceptable as they identify risk to passengers in the vehicle in the event of deployment. Each time i contact the dealer they simply state there is not remedy available at this point and just wait longer. My compliant is that this is well beyond a reasonable amount of time to make a customer wait for a defective product repair.

Takata recall - recall was issued in may 2016, over 1 year ago and dealer has not been able to fulfill the recall; reason stated: lack of repair parts. Estimated repair is september 2017 but not guaranteed. Should not take over a year to complete a recall that has such great safety risks.

"takata recall".on july 10, 2016 i received a recall in the mail from lexus (torrance, ca) about the takata front passenger airbag inflator.the recall notice goes on to say "until the remedy becomes available, we recommend that you do not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat".i am writing these comments on december 29, 2016.so it's been 5 months since i've received the recall notice.i've been in contact with my local lexus dealer and well as lexus in torrance , ca and neither one can give my any time table on when the repairs can be made. My wife refuses to sit in the rear seat of the car because it is not as comfortable as the passenger front seat, nor is the rear seat heated (which is one of the main reasons she likes the car -- she has back pain problems).so what i now have is a car that cost me $41,000 (cash) that i can hardly use.i feel there should be some compensation for this inconvenience, but conversations with the local lexus dealership as well as lexus, torrance, ca have been extremely unsuccessful.i should add that over the past few years, i have purchased from lexus/toyata 5 brand new cars.i did this as a private citizen, not as a business purchase.

Takata recall comments: hello..i received a interim recall notice for my 2011 lexus es350. In the notice it stated, that it is recommended that i do not have a passenger in the front passenger area due to airbag defect. They have not come up with remedy for this problem they just stated they recommend not to have passenger there. How can i drive this car and not carry passengers? this is unreasonable request for automaker to make to consumer. I have 48,000 miles currently on it. I sent complaint to lexus dealer and they recommend that i store the car until end of the year and not drive it until they have remedy. This is ridiculous that they instruct the customer to do this. I contacted lexus 2 days ago and have not received response. Can i demand that they buy my vehicle back? or demand that they give me a alternate/loan car to drive in the meantime before fix can be found and problem solved? i purchased a lexus extended warranty to 100,000 miles also! vin # [xxx] thank you. Takata recall. I was informed of the recall. No current repair and was advised to not operate with a front seat passenger. Contacted the manufacturer and was told the remedy would not be ready until, at least, first quarter 2017. The dealership is willing to provide a non-comparable loaner vehicle (i would expect a luxury vehicle). My vehicle was purchased with an extended warranty and scratch and dent protection. I have also prepaid for an xm subscription. All of these purchases are being wasted if i accept the loaner. If i don't accept a loaner, my vehicle continues to depreciate and is no longer serving my needs. This is an unacceptable solution and the time period for the inconvenience (6+ months) is too long.

The shop that replaced the sensor said to bring it back the next day because they do not know what is wrong because there are no longer any sensor to replace. When i arrived home i proceeded to back into my carport and when i proceeded to get on break to put the car in reverse, the brake failed and i had an accident that caused a lot of damage to my car. Thank god i was not physical hurt but my car was. My insurance company was contacted and vehicle was repaired. When i picked up my vehicle after paying my deductible, i was told by abra auto parts that they have replaced all the damages however the tire pressure light still will not go off and we should follow up with the lexus dealer because that was a matter that cannot be fixed by them. I contacted the lexus company many, many times and still have not received a clear explanation of why the light will not go off. I explained to them that i have looked at the lexus manual and it stated that if that light remain on, the vehicle should be taken to a lexus dealer to investigate the issue. On november 21st lexus scheduled me to take my vehicle in to the toyota dealer to investigate the situation. I did take the car in and to this date lexus has not answered the question whether or not there is a defect. This is a serious matter because the lights are designed to alert you when something is wrong. Lexus may not take it serious, but i do because i never know if something is actually going on and my life could be in danger. I also received a letter regarding the air bag from lexus. They advised do not let anyone ride on passenger side of car until we hear back from them. To this day they have not addressed that situation.

Extremely dangerousright front passenger grasps top of door frame to close door. Driver closes window but is unable to stop window from closing. Once it starts it can't be stopped nor is there a safety stop such as that found in garage or elevator doors. Window crushes finger of passenger and flesh is torn. Flesh retrieved and sewn in emergency room but hospital surgery required 3 weeks later on right ring finger. Potential death trap! imagine if it closes on a child, a dog, or object.

I received my recall notice in april. I cannot continue to risk driving my car, it is like a time bomb waiting to go off.the dealer has been unhelpful, by saying they wiil call me when they have a fix??

I find that i am using the high beams mostly for night driving. I believe this is a safety issue not only for me, but cars coming toward me. Country roads & highway.

Exploding sunroof

I was driving on interstate just outside beaumont, texas on thursday, november 2 when i heard a loud noise similar to a gunshot or an explosion.immediately after i heard the noise, i noticed my sunroof cover shaking and wind coming through the top of my car.i pulled the cover back just a little and noticed shattered glass.when i pulled over at the next service station, i got out and realized my sunroof was shattered.i contacted lexus and they pretended to be surprised; however, after further research, i discovered a class action lawsuit and many other complaints regarding this same issue.i have since had the sunroof repaired, but not by lexus.the dealership offered to repair it to the tune of $2,000.the sunroof repair company where i took my car repaired it for a fraction of that.this morning i received a phone call from lexus corporate office stating that the damaged sunroof was due to "impact," which is not true.of course, lexus is not taking any responsibility for my vehicle.i suspect they will continue to keep their defective vehicles on the road until an adequate number of people have died from the defects.the general manager of lexus of clear lake reached out to me on this past saturday and asked that i email her, which i did.however, i never heard anything back from her.
