A1 incoming email: letter from consumer re 2009 lexus 350es air bag recall safety deactivation.the consumer received an air bag recall in may 2016. The consumer stated it was unacceptable, to wait so long for a remedy.

Takata recall.dealer tells me not to drive car with front passenger, does not have parts/ability to fix the problems and offers me car rental until resolution.however, in order to accept the rental car, i must agree not to drive my own car at all even when i am alone.i explain i am alone 99.9% of the time but have children and other guests coming to visit on three different occasions this summer and that would be the only time i would have front seat passengers and the only time i would not be able to use my car in its current condition. I am told by dealer's representative i must sign documents stating i will not drive my car at all once i am given a rental.i am also told dealer may not be equipped to repair/correct the problem until some time late fall 2017, which means i will have to drive a rental for 5 or 6 months while my own car sits idly.i don't understand why i can't drive my own car when i am alone and why i must 'commit' to a rental for the entire length of time.they will not offer me the same type of car either.

Faulty airbag harness wirring. Dear sir or madam, this is to report that 2007-2012 is 250, is 350 and es 350 hasfaulty airbag wiring harness which disables the airbags. Clublexus.com has received hundreds of complaints regarding this. The repairs will only be done or correct if the vehicle is under 6 years old or 70,000 miles, whichever comes first. Few thousand customers have cars less than 70,000 miles buy beyond 72 months but lexus refuses to rectify this tsb warning under the warranty. It is not our faults that the vehicles have been driven less than 70,000 miles in 6 years. The cost to repair this is in the upwards of 4000$. This is ridiculous on the part of lexus and nhtsa. The airbag wiring should be included in the recalls along with the takata recalls as they are connected but lexus refuses to agree to the consumer complaints and have dared many customers to challenge nhtsa to get it covered under recall. Please help thousands of lexus drivers and their families from this fatal tsb fault which lexus refuses to fix. Further, lexus stated that "if the fault is covered by the recall, it will be fixed without fail". So far lexus wants to get richer by charging consumers $4000.00 for a part that they installed to big with. Please check the clublexus.com forum regarding the airbag lights coming on and the reaction that lexus has submitted to its customers. They are willing to put their customers and their families lives in danger just because nhtsa did not tell them to include airbag harness wiring in the takata recall, even if the vehicles are beyond warranty repairs. Please help us in these dire and unsafe circumstances. Thank you

Gotinterim safety recall noticenhtsa 16v-340 & 17v-006. "takata recall" i had to call the lexus dealer in melbourne florida when i learned about recall on radio. The dealer rep had my information and told me they will contact me when the parts come in. And i can not use itbecause offoot dragging by both takata and toyota. How much longer must i wait?

Recall notice sent out on may 21, 2016 stated that we "should not drive with anyone in the front passenger seat" until the fixfor the recall is complete. It is now november 11, 2016 and there are no fix statements nor any hint when our vehicle (located in houston, tx) will be scheduled for a repair.driving with the restriction of not using the front passenger seat is extremely inconvenient as we use the car for clients. Lexus dealers state that they have no idea when the repairs can be made and lexus corporate simply said to contact a dealer for a loaner car, which they refuse to do when contacted.while we recognize that this is a dangerous situation, the excessive time required to come up with a fix is unacceptable to the american public and unconscionable behavior by the manufacturer.

Takata recall: in january, 2017, we received notice from lexus of the recall for the right front airbag, nhtsa recall 17v006.after waiting several months to hear from the dealer, we called them on 04/27/17 to inquire regarding status of airbag replacement and was told it should be in mid-june.having heard nothing, we called again on 07/17/17 and was then told it would be december.we called today, 10/18/17, to confirm replacement of the airbag in december and was told they have no idea when this would take place.we have not received a follow-up notice from lexus regarding this lengthy delay.we were told by the dealer to contact lexus customer service or see what information was available on lexus website.we are wondering if this means lexus is not corresponding with their dealers so that recall information can be given to the car owners.we have; however, received notice regarding the auto airbag settlement.we are very patient people; however, a response from the dealer offering little to no information about the recall is what prompted this complaint.

Takata recall ...after receiving the 'interim notice' february 8th 2017 i checked at the dayton lexus dealer manager of service today ( mar 22,2017) and was told the replacement inflator will not be available for my es350 until september 2017 making my vehicle useless for seven to eight months!! .this is totally unacceptable . Their claim as the service oriented company is a sham.

I received my 1st recall letter last june 2016 & i have been calling westside lexus on the katy freeway, houston, tx for the past few months & they still do not have the part in. It has almost been a year. I just received another letter about the recall & i called the dealership & they said that they are only working on the is models first & don't know when they can fix the es models. I don't feel safe driving passengers around & i don't understand why it would take this long to get the parts in. This is ridiculous!!

Failure of airbags to deploy in a head-on collision on october 24, 2009 involving my 2009 lexus es 350.damage estimates from the involved insurance company total over $15,000.00 for all frontal damage which intrudes into the engine compartment.estimates which are over $15000.00 indicate that the airbag sensors are being replaced, but there is no charge indicated for the sensor replacement which lexus is probably doing at no charge.this means that the damage of $15,000.00 are for parts and work other than that involving the front airbag sensors replacement.injuries sustained by front seat passengers.driver is being treated for a closed head injury/concussion and passenger is being evaluated for concerns of dizziness, right hip pain and a possible neck injury.

On tuesday, 6/28/11 my wife was involved in a head on accident.the vehicle in front of her had no brake lights and she slammed into the back of his truck.she has $9,000 worth of front end damage and none of the airbags on her 2009 lexus es350 deployed.i find that to be an issue.due to that fact she has sustained a head, neck, back and knee injury.i contacted lexus of cherry hill, nj where the vehicle was purchased less then a year ago as a precertified vehicle and was told that it depended on how fast she was going at the time she hit, that would determine whether the air bags would deploy.a car with $9,000 front end damage in my opinion should have deployed an air bag.something is wrong with this picture.

Have a problem with the gas tank on the car. When it is full and i stop and then drive away i hear a thumping noise from it. Only hear it when the tank is full at 1/2 i don't hear it. I am concerned because it is the gas tank. Had it to the dealer and was told it was a normal thing. I was told they had filled up 3 cars of the same model car and it was noticed in them..after all we are dealing with gas..

On monday august 6th, 2012 at approximately 5: 25 am,i ([xxx]) was arriving at work at methodist hospital. I pulled in the parking lot and started to make a wide u turn into a parking stall driving about 5 miles per hour. My car suddenly accelerated and the brakes would not work and i was unable to stop the vehicle. I kept trying to brake to no avail. I went through a fence and drove over a steel pole. Just as i was about to hit a very large tree, the car finally stopped. The brakes finally work about 3 to 4 feet in front of the tree. I was able to drive around the tree and park like i do every day. After parking, i got out of the vehicle, got my phone from my purse in the trunk and called my husband and told him what had just happened. I was very shaken and crying. The car was wrecked on the passenger side. [xxx] called security & [xxx] came over. We both went back out where the accident happened. I showed him where it happened, what happened and where i ended up. [xxx] told a few photos. We have contacted lexus [xxx] #2 option (judy)and our attorney ([xxx]) [xxx]. We have taken the vehicle to lexus of omaha. Lexus wants us to sign a black box release. Our attorney suggest we turn in a claim to see if farmers wishes to see the black box 1st..information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Petition for a defect investigation into low-speed surging in different models of toyota automobiles in which the car starts accelerating and the engine rpm increases when accelerator is not depressed.the consumer stated on february 13, 2015, his wife was driving to an appointment. She pulled into the parking lot and did not have her foot on the brake pedal as she was coasting into the parking spot. The vehicle suddenly accelerated. Big bushes in front of the vehicle limited the speed, so his wife turned off the ignition and the vehicle fell back. A witness saw the entire even and attested to the fact the engine suddenly started roaring. The front of the vehicle was smashed. My wife and i experienced an uncontrollable runaway of our new (3 weeks old and less than 200 miles) lexus es-350 car on 09/27/2009. The car was totaled. At time, both police and ambulance were called. And we were sent to the nearby shady grove hospital for checkup and treatments. Initially, i thought it could be because i mistakenly pressed the gas pedal, instead of the brake, when i tried to slow down the car preparing to make a left-hand turn onto rt. 28. Now, after i read all the recent toyota/lexus accident news reports, which specifically involved the lexus es series, i begin to belief it wasn't the case. And in fact, it was an uncontrollable runaway car, at the time. Because otherwise i would have naturally slowed down the car at the intersection and prepared to make the turn. Therefore, i shouldn't be the one who contributed to the accident; also considering the following:(1) i'm an experienced driver, and have driven all kind of brand and sizes of cars, and under various weather and road conditions since 1962; (2) the accident happened on the great sceneca hwy in gaithersburg. I've been living in this specific area since 1974; and going through all the community changes and expansions, including new road structures, and traffic patterns; (3) i've a superior driving record; and a 20/20 vision.

The contact owns a 2008 lexus es350. On february 9, 2010, while the contact was attempting to change gears with his foot on the brake, the vehicle suddenly accelerated. He attempted to slow the vehicle down by depressing the brake pedal with both feet but the vehicle did not stop and collided into a wall. The driver was not injured but the passenger did sustain injuries to the mouth and upper body. A police report was filed. The current and failure mileages were approximately 28,000. The consumer is requesting the findings on the vehicle. Updated evoq 10/13/10the consumer also stated the air bags failed to deploy. Updated 02/25/11

The contact leased a 2009 lexus es350. While driving approximately 35 to 40 mph on the highway, the vehicle accelerated 80 to 90 mph. He attempted to engage the brake pedal and the emergency brake to stop the vehicle and was unsuccessful. He also pressed the on/off button, shift the vehicle in reverse and was unable to stop the vehicle. He was able to drive with minimal control to an emergency lane where he was able to shift the vehicle into reverse then immediately to park; however, the transmission began smoking and the vehicle slowed down. The contact drove the vehicle to his residence. He was also able to drive the vehicle to the dealer and expects them to allow him to return the vehicle. The service director stated that the failure was caused by the floor mats and that the hooks were never installed in the vehicle. The manufacturer provided no assistance.the current mileage was approximately 11,900 and the failure mileage was also approximately 11,890.

I am requesting that dot nhtsa investigate the driver's contribution to unintended acceleration (ua) due to programming code error. I am driving at 40 mph. I see signal light turning red. I took my foot off accelerator. The car is coasting. When speed reached 20 mph, the car suddenly started accelerating. I stepped on the brake. Car started slowing down. I reported this to lexus headquarter on 03-01-10 (lexus incident.) i was asked to drop off my car at dealer on 03-30-2010 so that field technical specialist can investigate. I was asked to pick up my car on 03-31-10. I requested copy technicians findings and report. As per technician's report, "we were able to duplicate his concern. What is happening is that as the vehicle slows down the torque converter lock up is turning off. This reduces the amount of engine braking and gives the feeling that the vehicle has sped up. We compared this to another es350 and it has the same characteristics. No repairs made, vehicle is operating as designed." i wrote lexus head-quarter again saying, "this is not a feeling i experienced. It is a real issue. I noticed speedometer reading rising." i received a phone call from lexus headquarter indicating there is nothing more they can do. I asked, "can your technician repeat the test with me in the car with him?". They said, "it is not necessary".since my foot was not on accelerator or brake when car started accelerating, i suspect programming code error. My car was already repaired during safety recall by lexus some two months ago. So, this is not a stuck accelerator issue.i request your assistance in having lexus repeat this test with me inside the car to witness their test. They have refused to do this.car was purchased brand new from sterling mccall lexus, houston in december 08. It is lexus 2009, es 350. Car is barely used since we bought it 16 months ago. It has 3,300 miles on it. All routine required maintenance was performed by dealer.

My vehicle lexus es350 (2009) is under recall for safety as it gas pedal is getting stuck in some cases.i had difficult time for lexus to take care and to fix this problem.but i want to report that lexus does still not own its responsibility.i had called lexus on feb 19, 2010, to check on the status of the recall repair.i was told: "car is safe to drive and that 'it is not a safety recall." this was told to me repeatedly, even though i kept telling the lexus person that their own website is saying contrary to her claim.i think it is very misleading --telling customers that vehicle is safe to drive; and this is not a safety recall but voluntary recall by the company.i have got my vehicle fixed.but i am surprised at the company's style of misleading customers.

I put the car on d to drive. I stopped at a red light, i brake the car to stop. When the light turned green, i pressed on the gas pedal to drive forward, but the car reversed without me putting on r. The reverse go was slow. When it reversed, i tried to stop the car car by pressing on the brake pedal, but i could not stop the car that way. I had to turn off the car to stop the reverse. The car reversed like that both times sporadically on two consecutive days - on 11.11.2014 and on the morning of 11.12.2014.my car was under warranty. I brought it to the service of lexus at longo on the evening of 11.12.2014, which is where the vehicle was bought. They found no problem with the car, charge me money, and gave the car back to me the next day.i believe that the car needs more investigation. I am afraid of the sporadic reversal of the car while it is on d. I am further afraid that at high freeway speed, the problem it could cause is even more dangerous.

Lexus es 350 had uncontrolled accelerator causing speeds in excess of 90 miles per hour until car was forced out of gear.without attempts to accelerate the car took over and sped out of control.cruise control was not engaged and brakes would not slow the vehicle.i called 911 and they told me to put the car in neutral which caused the rpms to race out of control.the car then went into reverse by itself until i slammed it into park.the dealer came and picked up the car as it was unsafe to drive.fortunately this occurred on the freeway and i had room to maneuver and miss cars and obstacles.had this occurred anywhere else i would be in the hospital.

Lexus 2009, model es350security system goes off by itself at odd hoursall windows and sunroof open by themselves at the same time on different occasions. Now toyota is replacing all computers that relate to this electrical problem. The vehicle has been at the service department over a week.

Lexus 2009, model es350. All windows and sunroof open by themselves at the same time at different occaisons. Vehicle has been brought and left at keyes lexus in van nuys, ca. Numerous times to correct from beginning of my purchase. They failed to correct the problem to this date after promissing to do so. The danger exists if this happens while driving, it could cause an accident.

Vehicle dashboard is melting and creates a dangerous road glare when driving on sunny days or hot days. It is also a very sticky surface that is sticking to everything. This is known problem on lexus and toyota cars.

Melting dashboard problem which affects visibility. I called lexus headquarters in august 2017 and reported the problem. I took the car in to lexus dealer and they took pictures which they said they would submit somewhere. After many months, i called headquarters again. I got a call from them on 1/29/2018 stating that my car is no longer under warranty. They want me to pay to replace dashboard. Many other lexus models have been recalled for this same problem. However, they indicated my model was not under recall. Since my car also have the defected material that was used in those other models, i believe lexus should be held responsible for replacing the dashboard. The es350 should also be under recall because the problem exists in this model.please contact me to advise.
