Takata recallmy dealer states that, as of today 3/29/2017, they have not received the replacement parts for es350 models. I have not had an incident but i am very concerned about the long delay in correcting the problem, and live in california where the degredation of the inflators is most likely due to climate conditions.

I was advised last year (mid 2015) that the front airbags would need to be replaced but as yet no recall has actually taken place. I called the lexus dealership and there recommendation was 'not allow any persons to ride as a passenger in the front seat'. I told them i was a realtor and he said 'have them sit in the back seat, you can be the chauffeur'. Not much of a recommendation if you ask me!! all i want is to get the air bags replaced.

Takata recall - i received my recall notice in july 2016 telling me not to allow any front seat passengers to ride in my car due to the airbag safety issues.it has been almost six months and i still can't use the passenger seat in my car.i asked the dealer to disable the airbag but they said they cannot legally do that.so now, i have a car which is only partially usable.if i have someone ride with me i have them sit in the back seat due to the danger.it is a little weird having co-workers or clients sit in the back of my car.this changes my use of the car substantially.i have been told it may be summer of 2017 before the replacement airbag will be available.that is not a timely fix to this very dangerous situation.if takata can't make the airbags in a timely manner can't they subcontract the work out to someone who can do the job?very frustrated.please do something to hurry this along so that i can fully use my car again.

Takata recall. It has been about 6 months since we were notified about the air bag recall.we keep calling our local dealer to get an estimated date that the air bags will be replaced and all we get is ' we will call you when get them to schedule the repairs'.why is it taking so long?!?!?!?!?!i didn't purchase the car from that dealer so i wondering if they are putting my safety behind the safety of the lexus owners who purchased a car from their store even if their car was purchased after mine's.i am tired of the inconvenience of riding in the back seat -as advised by the recall letter - and tired of asking friends and family to ride in the back seat even when there are only two of us in the car.i would like an explanation of the local lexus dealer on how they schedule the repairs.how do they prioritize their customers to determine who will be serviced and made safer.this is totally unacceptable.none of us affected by this issue should have had to wait at all!!l

I keep getting mail about the recall and have spoke to lexus several times in the past 2 years about the takata airbags each times someone tells me something different but there is no lexus dealer in my city and the closest is over 100 miles away in which i don't have money to take a trip. I'm worried about this situation because now they say don't even ride no one in the passenger seat that's a inconvenient i use this car to transport my kids to school,my job and lexus isn't helping and it's really they fault that i'm in this situation. If i could take the car to a shop in my city where i'm purchasing the car i would take the car to the shop but over 100 miles out and a 100 miles back home i can't afford that.

Takata recall-i received notification in may of 2016 and was told that i would be notified that airbag would be replaced as part became available. I have been waiting patiently, but have been told repeatedly by local lexus dealer that part is still not available and it has been almost a year now.i find this to be unreasonable, especially since no one can occupy the front passenger seat.

While driving i noted that the passenger airbag status light indicated "off". It should be indicating "on". Further monitoring the next few days showed the passenger airbag status light to be intermittent when a passenger was seated and the car moving. Intermittent as in sometimes "on" and sometimes "off". This is unacceptable so the car went to the lexus dealer (lexus of cherry hill, nj) for extended warranty service. Several attempts (involving replacement parts and calibrations, etc) since then to fix the intermittent problem have failed. While driving on october 31 the airbag status light again showed "off" again, but in time re-set itself to "on". This is the nature of the intermittent problem. It is now november 2, 2014, and the dealer claims they have done everything they know to do to fix the problem. An unsafe condition still exists.

I purchased this vehicle on 6?30/2017 at kuni lexus of porland,or (canyon rd)i was made aware of this recall from the 'recall results page of nhtsa) however no where does the "recall results" document indicate that the manufacturer (takata) has not developed the remedy to the recall (only that if a the manufacturer fails to remedy i can file a complaint.) i was told today 7/10 the fix has not even been developed yet.is this true?i was made to believe it would be something relatively easy to fix and could be scheduled in the future.my dealership cannot tell me what timeframe i am looking at.they said now for the first time that i shouldn't have a passenger ride in the front passenger seat.***is there an eta...and estimated time to expect development on the fix for the passenger airbag?*** i was promised by the salesman that i could have the airbag fixed when i brought the car back for detailing (i was asked to take the car off the lot and bring it back later for detailing.) finding out now more about possibly having to wait a long time or never be able to get the airbag replaced is making me very nervous.

Takata recall;rec'd letter in may, 2016 from lexus stating problem with airbags.today, october 21, 2016 still no fix!i drive my car but if i have a passenger, i make him/her sit in the back seat.this is very disturbing, to think the airbag may inflate if i were in an accident.it seems ridiculous that takata can't remedy this situation.i don't blame lexus, as the airbags are not their product, which is my understanding.how long do we have to wait to drive a safe car again?it's been 6 months already.i live in 'zone a' and my car is well within the 6-9 years 'significant propellant degradation may occur.' time frame!

Takata recall.i am filing this complaint because the amount of time taken by takata and lexus is in excess of the amount of time that should be allowed for this kind of safety matter.i submitted a written request to the dealer, westside lexus, houston, tx.and have made several phone calls, including one today, in october, 2016 i was informed that the replacement might be available in december, 2016 or january, 2017.today, i was told that they could not give me a date and it was in the government's hands as to when takata would send the parts to them for the replacement.i live in a hot and humid area of the u.s. Where an earlier safety incident is likely to occur.i am requesting governmental assistance to rectify this matter as soon as possible.the problem was not due to any fault on my part it was a manufacturing mistake with fatal consequences.takata has installed thousands of new airbags in new toyota and lexus vehicles but has not provided a replacement for my model to the dealer.it is now 8 months since the recall was made.i am requesting the government require priority for distribution to dealers for replacement or reasonable compensation to customers who have been disadvantaged due to takata's unreasonable delay.

"takata recall" - we live in florida and drove the vehicle to denver, colorado on june 28, 2016 arriving july 1, 2016. We received the notice (forwarded via us mail to our address in denver) regarding the airbag recall on or around july 25, 2016. We contacted lexus immediately thereafter and was told a case manager would call us back within 2-3 business days. We received a call on or around august 1, 2016 and spoke with a case manager, "zandra". She reiterated the information found in the notice and informed us that a rental vehicle could be made available if needed and we would be reimbursed for this vehicle. We informed zandra that since we were in colorado at this time, it would be impossible to drive the car without someone in the passenger seat during this time and we did not want to drive this car home with this current recall in place.zandra did not give us any other option for us at this time. We again called the lexus customer assistance (800-255-3987) on august 4, 2016 and spoke to "michael". We informed michael of our previous conversation with zandra and requested we speak to her. We informed michael of our situation and informed him that having a rental car does not allow us to get our current car home. We requested that in lieu of a rental car we would prefer to have the car shipped back to our florida address where we have a secondary car to use. This would be a cheaper alternative for lexus than giving us a vehicle rental for months. We were informed by michael that we would have to wait another 3 business days (plus the weekend) to receive a call back from zandra. We informed michael that we had to leave colorado no later than august 30th and need to have this addressed but he was unable to provide any additional help or information. We are now stuck in colorado on business with an unsafe vehicle for the remainder of our stay.

Takata recalli have been waiting for lexus to call me to fix this front passenger airbag recall for almost a year, they keep saying they have not received any replacement parts to do the job, is there anything nhtsa can do to speed things up as this is could be a life and death issue.regards,[xxx] *dlinformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Problem identified in may of 2016 has yet to be rectified as of december 2016. This does not qualify as " timely" resolution of the problem. My car poses a hazard to me and passengers and is far less marketable in this condition.

Called lexus stevens creek (408-330-3000)for service. Always took them few weeks to make an appt. One appt was made in may but we were late so didnt make it. I made another appt in the middle of may and got scheduled an appt 0n 6/3/17. Now they told us the appt will be cancelled due to no part available. I asked what will be the time frame, they said at least few more weeks n they will call us, means it will take another few more weeks for them to make an appt for us. I also asked them if other lexus dealers have the available part, they said i had to check it on my own...it seems they don't reallycare for our safety even though in the recall letter, it said its not safe for us to operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passengerseat. What should we do? please advise. Thank you.

Takata recall:i was notified of this recall on jan. 9, 2017.in the notification i was warned not to have anyone ride in the front passenger seat until a remedy is developed.it is now approaching 90 days without any remedy notification.i think this is a bit excessive and certainly outrageous for someone who purchased a luxury automobile and is now unable to have my wife ride in the front passenger seat.

Takata inflators:i was involved in a serious accident on 05/25/2017. The veh i was in was a 2008 lexus es 350. The airbags deployed but failed to inflate. As a result i have to undergo surgery due to severe injuries sustained in the accident. Both the side and front airbags appeared to be just some white sheets that popped out. The notification of the recall on the vehicle's airbags was received about almost 2 months after the car accident. By then the incident had already occurred and the damage was done. Very unfortunate situation.this took place in miami, florida, on kendall drive. The lexus was at a standstill facing north in the middle median awaiting the make a left turn to be able to head west and turn into the west bound lanes. The opposite party that struck the lexus was heading east in the 2nd to 3rd lane heading east bound. The other party then proceeded to swerve into the middle and failed to slow down then struck the lexus's rear driver's side corner panel. The lexus spun out and ended up facing south within the middle median. Both vehicles the lexus and the other party's veh were both insured by geico at the time of the incident and geico declared dual comparative negligence.

Passenger airbag light keep switching from on to off and off to on.we brought it in twice into lexus to have them fix the problem, but they keep saying there is nothing wrong with it.i know they had problems with the 2007 lexus es 350.my 2008 is having the same problem.all i'm asking them is to have fix the problem, before any accident happen.my husband and i carpool everyday to work, and we are so afraid that if there is an accident, the airbag might not deploy because of the sensor problem and turning the airbag off.

I have been involved in two separate collisions this year with my 2008 lexus es350 and neither time did my air bags deploy.the first time was in may/june of 2010 and i hit a curb avoiding a collision with a vehicle that cut my off.i was alone in my vehicle traveling at about 30-40 miles an hour and the airbags did not deploy.exactly two months ago, i was involved in another collision with a hyundai accent in which i rear ended that vehicle at a speed of approximately 45 mph and again the airbags did not deploy causing me to hit my face on the steering wheel, having a nose and facial contusion, then being whipped back from the seat belt.progressive insurance refused to total the vehicle despite the extensive damage and they still can't figure out the computer related issues.progressive claims that the airbag issue had nothing to do with the accident and that i need to take that up with lexus.that process is extremely frustrating and designed to avoid any consumer from getting their rightful restitution and service for a potential dangerous situation.i am a realtor and cannot risk taking my clients in my vehicle since i am afraid that if i am involved in another accident, my passengers will be at risk.i do not know what to do, i am paying high monthly payments for luxury and safety that lexus is not backing.putting my clients and my children and family in danger.this is very serious and needs to be addressed with toyota/lexus!please help.

The contact owns a 2008 lexus es350.while driving 40 mph, the contact's vehicle was struck on the driver's side by another vehicle.the side air bags failed to deploy.the front driver's side door was severely damaged, which should have activated the air bags.the contact sustained a black eye and head injury due to striking the exterior side mirror.a police report was filed.the vehicle was towed to a shop for repairs.the vin was unknown.the failure mileage was 1,300.

While driving on the highway at 60 miles / h my driverside window suddenly fell down which seriously distracted me and which almost resulted in a collision with another car. Feedback from lexus is that the plastic tabs that hold the window disintegrate over time and as a result the entire window will need to be replaced. It's clearly a safety hazard and should pro-actively be addressed by lexus.

Bought this lexus in 03/12/12. It is used. There has been moisture in the headlight housing. This is not a little moisture, it is very excessive. We can't drive the car at night because of the excessive moisture causes very dim light which would be dangerous to drive at night. My husband talked to a sarah as case manager at corporate, market manager for services, val kramer, warranty coordinator and each of them said they could do nothing to help us. Lexus send us a letter and told us they know that the headlight is not completely sealed. Would you please help. Lexus should fix this with no expense. Thank you cor your bell

Battery failed to discharge in numerous occasions (stationary-parked at my residence-28,012 ml on this 2008 es 350), required triple aaa charge.lexus service center stated "i needed a new battery & alternator." i had the alternator & battery replaced on 12/15/2018 (not cheap).then on 02/17/2019, i had the exact same problem, battery not discharging.fyi, this is my 2nd lexus.1st lexus owned was a 1991 es 250, never had problems with that car until it reached 117,000 miles.this is too stressful.what is happening with lexus (toyota).they once were the best cars on the road???????

We currently have allstate for insurance and they have this item called the drivewise. This device fits in the obd ii port under the steering column. This device created multiple communications errors within the computers for the car. After reading up on this, it seems that many people are having this issue in many makes/models. The vehicle shifted funny into another gear on its own. The instrument cluster was not working and would not light up. The radio would not work at all and the sunroof was making a funny noise. The speakers were making a crackling sound and the a/c wasn't working. The heated and cooled seats were not working. After bringing the vehicle into the lexus dealer they could see that the vehicle was having multiple communications issues between the computer systems. This device is a safety concern and we will not continue using it. Everything is back to normal now that the device has been removed. Had we not been proactive about this, the device could have caused an accident. Potentially harming someone. This is a very serious concern we have and i feel that someone should do more research on the product.

My passenger side front window will not roll up properly. Apparently the plastic clip broke off and the entire window has to be replaced. This is definitely a defect by lexus. I have seen a lot of complaints online about this. Lexus is charging 700 dollars to fix. I will not buy another lexus or recommend one to anyone because lexus should take ownership for this one.

I bought a new lexus es350 (model year 2008) in the summer of 2008 from a dealership in texas.i soon noticed that, on several occasions, the car locks would open unexpectedly by themselves when i was near the car.to clarify, on multiple occasions my car was parked, i approached the car but did not touch the car nor did i touch my key fob, and the locks would open without explanation.

Some snow & ice on i82, from sunnyside, wa, (mp 69) to west richland (mp 96).entering freeway, car would only go 40mph, engine surging like transmission stuck in 3rd gear.traffic very light. Stopped at weigh scale to check wheel wells for ice as thought this might be the reason car acting strange. Wells completely clear.get back on i82, first underpass has patches of ice that i can see.when i go over the ice, the car brakes hard by itself and the rear of the car swings out to the left & starts to go broadside. I keep the car under control.as traffic increases, i put my flashers on & stay in the right lane because i cannot get the car to go faster than 40mph.the next underpass, i get again hard braking by the car and broadside swing into the left lane.i know it is an issue with the car because i did not brake.next underpass i have to slow to 30mph to make sure the car coming up beside me is clear because i know i will swing to the left.i am not accelerating or braking and yes, again at 30mph it brakes and i go broadside to the left. This is a terrifying trip, there are 4 or 5 underpasses & each time it's the same broadside movement with auto braking by the car. I exit at mp 69. Going eastbound on kennedy rd where there is compact snow and ice, it will not go faster than 25mph and is squirrely, back end minor swinging back and forth as auto braking is happening. Next morning, took it to dealership, ran diagnostics, could find nothing wrong.have 84,500 miles on car, bought it in oct 2015, had water pump replaced at same dealership in january 2017. I drove this car last year in snow and ice and never experienced this but now i will not drive this car again & we are actively looking for another vehicle.if my 17 year old daughter had been driving, she would have rolled the car.it is only because of experience i knew to gently control the car.

The contact owns a 2008 lexus 350. While driving 5 mph and making a left turn the anti-skid system failed, it disengaged the wheel and turned the vehicle off in the middle of the road. There were no warning lights illuminating indicating that a failure was occurring. The anti skid should stop the wheel from skidding when there was snow on the ground or when it was wet. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the anti-skid system worked properly and there were no failures.a diagnostic test was performed but they were unable to duplicate the failure or produce a code. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that they could not install a switch because this would cause other complications to various components within the vehicle. The vin was unavailable. The failure mileage was 22,000.

I purchased a 2008 lexus es 350 on february 21, 2008.on may 28, 2008, i took the car to the dealer, lexus of jacksonville, fl, because the gas pedal stuck on may 26, 2008.when this occurred, the car accelerated to over 80 mph and i had to insert my foot underneath the pedal to unstick and raise the pedal to decrease acceleration.lexus of jacksonville checked the pedal and i was told the pedal had been adjusted.the problem has not recurred.on february 19, 2008, i was contacted by lexus of jacksonville to schedule the vehicle for service as a result of the recall of the gas pedal sticking and an engine hose replacement.

We lease a 2008 lexus es-350while riding on rte 9 in monmouth county, the car suddenly accelerated - i was traveling at approx. 50mph when it happened--i tried to hit the brakes, but thencar kepton accelerating-i then reached down while still driving, and forcibly removed the floor pad from the floor around the accelerator--the car immediately stopped accelerating and slowed downsince then, i have driven the car with no problem- but i have not replaced the floor mat.

This is probably not the correct forum for this but the complaint that i have is with the new cars and the hid headlights. I have read and heard older folks say "they are great, i can finally see at night" but the issue is they are so bright that when on a two lane road or when the ground is wet the oncoming driver has to look away because those lights are blinding. How safe is that to take your eyes off of the road and not looking at oncoming traffic because your blinded?those new lights need to be outlawed for the safety of all drivers.

I was making a right turn onto a busy street and accelerated hard with my 2008 es 350 lexus.after accelerating to 45mph i stopped applying pressure to the accelerator pedal but the car continued to accelerate up to 80mph while going up hill and my foot was completely off the accelerator pedal.i tried to see if the pedal was stuck by lifting the accelerator pedal with my foot but the car continued to accelerate.i was approaching an intersection and used both feet to apply firm pressure to the brake pedal.i was able to stop the car although the engine was idling at a much higher rpm than normal.i did not experience the situation again on the remainder of my 20 minute trip.i did not have my winter driving mats in place when this occurred.i did not report this to lexus although described my experience to co-workers that same day.based on recent news reports i formally notified my experience to lexus customer service today.i explained that this problem had nothing to do with the accelerator pedal getting stuck on a floor mat.

Vehicle: 2008 lexus 350 sedan.failure:brakes do not work when there is snow on the ground.abs braking system pumps but the car does not slow down.i suspect that snow gets into the brakes and prevents them from gripping the wheels.the car is not skidding; it just doesn't slow down.once the condition starts, it doesn't matter whether there is any snow on the road.even when the road is clear of snow, the brakes just pump and do not slow or stop the car in a reasonable distance.this condition is true regardless of the speed of the car when the brakes are applied -- any where from 2 mph to 40 mph.the car is leased from toyota motor credit corp.they will not terminate the lease early.i have spoken to the dealer where i leased the car; they told me that i should go to the dealer who currently services the car.(we moved from nj where i leased the car to mass and now use a dealer in latham, ny).the new dealer now says that the problem is that the tires are worn and that is why the abs system doesn't work in the snow.there are 22,000 miles on the tires and over 5/32 inch of tread.the car was just serviced (on january 25, 2010) by the lexus dealer in latham, who, at that time, did not say that there was any problem with the tires, and i firmly believe that there is no such problem.the dealer says that it will tow the car to the dealership for evaluation but will not give me a loaner.my wife and i are retirees and cannot be without a car as we live in the country and must get to doctors, market, etc. By car.please help me terminate the lease.

The contact had to apply abrupt pressure to the brakes before coming to a complete stop. The contact stated the failure would occur whenever there was light pressure applied to the brakes. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure persisted. The failure mileage was 100 and the current mileage was 18,700.

I bought one lexus (toyota) es 350 last november with about 3,500 miles (currently 8,200miles). Recently, i found front wheel on the right side could not be recovered to straight position (steering also).i took my car to lexus dealer in peoria, il, but they talked me that the issues happen because your car hit holes or curbs.i want to ask who can tell me that their cars never hit holes or curbs, if issues happen as long as your car hits holes or curbs.i think issues happen when a strong outside force was added to the objects such tire or rim or body, but this time not any damage in tire, rim or body, how come only inside damage happen first.i have very strong engineering background, i would like to ask lexus (toyota) how big outside force will led to this damage, and if and what the outside damage happen when same strength force is added tire, rim or body.i think lexus (toyota) shrink their responsibility such as they have done.my wife drives a new bmw about 4 years, but nothing happen even though hit many holes or curbs. Lexus is luxury car, not a toy. We define a car as a luxury car, not only interior, but also in safety, which has enough strength to bear outside force. If car damaged as long as it hit a hole or curb. If yes, i can say lexus was made by paper or flour. I think this is a issues of design.

The dashboard of the vehicle has become very sticky, melting, in the heat with small pieces of the dashboard falling off. Driving in the daylight compromises driver safety due to the glare in the windshield from the wet shiny look of the dashboard in front of the driver reflecting into the drivers field of vision. There appears to be a defect in the material used by the manufacturer in the production of this dashboard. Not only is it a driving safety issue but it also devalues the vehicle for trade or resale.

The dashboard is melting.

Top of dashboard has become very soft and sticky. The material covering the dashboard has deteriorated. It is causing a high shine and glare on the windshield and making it dangerous to drive.

The trunk will not close after opening. I have to slam it several times until it finally close.

The passenger side window glass popped out while my wife was driving this car to school to drop off our kids. It did startle her because of the noise. She was alert enough and any accident was avoided.i got the car checked out by a lexus dealer and they said that it was due to a faulty plastic tab that broke and the entire glass assembly needs to be replaced (even though there is nothing wrong with the glass itself)this is a known problem in lexus as acknowledged by a tsb (technical service bulletin) l-sb-0003-09 issued by them on january 26, 2009. The car was still under warranty at that time, but they failed to inform me about this potential problem.

I bought one lexus (toyota) es 350 last november with about 3,500 miles (currently 8,200miles). Lexus is luxury car, not a toy. We define a car as a luxury car, not only interior, but also in safety, which has enough strength to bear outside force. If car damaged as long as it hit a hole or curb. If yes, i can say lexus was made by paper or flour. I think this is a issues of design.

Melting dashboardi have been on the list for my vehicle's defective dashboard recall since 9/2015. I also completed the in store inspection required by the dealership 10/2016. Year to date, the dashboard has not been replaced. Is lexus still honoring this recall?

My car paint job start peeling a year and i/2 ago went to lexusnorthside report it also report it to the main office the answer to that was they can:tdo anything about it what i can"t belive is lexus do not stand by there cars any more .i guess new people in the office that see things different them the old lexus owners.i use to tell people abouth lexus all the time but now i don"t .lexus you let me down i still can not belive you don"t stand behine your cars.i would like to know how you would feel if you spend 30.000 on a car that"s peeling it looks bad.

I purchased mylexus 2008 es 350 on march 2016 from lexus of austin.the 2008 lexus es 350 hvac system is blowing moldy, mildew, and aluminum hydroxide smells into the car. The toxic combination is making me sick and is causing tightening of my throat, tongue, reflux, and stomach problems. I had my car tested for mold and this is what i found.

I recently just found out that my dashboard melt, and sticky. If i'm driving in the sun , the reflection of the sun caused the blindspot that i could not see. Also, the stickiness is causing the smell and it's not healthy.

The dashboard was melting, i called the lexus corp today and found out that the warranty has expired since last year but i just discovered the problem last sunday.

The passage window glass pop out and felt inside. I took it to the deal and they are charging 850 to fix it. Very expensive car a window falling off

My dash board is bad n causing very bad vision to drive.lexus state they are not going to cover this at this point due to missing the dead line.i purschase this vehicle used n knew nothing about this problem until informed by lexus service.

I purchased the lexus 3/2016 and i have been having medical problems from the mold/mildew and toxic aluminum hydroxide that was sprayed on the hvac by lexus to kill the mold issue. I have been going to the doctor since 7/2016 for illness that started out with tightening of the throat and tongue, frequent urination and very yellow, difficulty breathing, high blood pressure 130/80 before i purchased car my blood pressure was 120/60, blurred vision, metallic taste on my tongue and burning sensation on my tongue that doesn't go away, dizziness. I have had the car for less than a year and i stopped using the air because it is a safety issue and my health is at stake. I have kids who ride in the car from 5years of age to 12 years and there health is affect too. The mold produces a gas of mycotoxins which can be travel to major organs lung, liver, and brain. These cars need to be recalled and lexus of austin in austin, texas refuses to do anything about my complaints. Don't let someone die before this get taken serious. There are many reports of lexus/toyota hvac mold issue. Its not just the mold that is the problem it is the gas (mycotoxins) you are made to drink everytime you are behind the wheel. I didn't buy this car to have my health and my family health to be affected. Lexus of austin took my money, and took my health too. Health ;lel.e

Dashboard melting

The top of the dash is sticky, almost like it's melting, causing a shiny glare to reflect off the bash and windshield making it difficult to see, especially in direct sunlight. Ive owned the car since 2010 and it's steadily worsened overtime. It became an immediate safety concern back in march as the weather became warmer.

The police was notified and they didn't provide a report. The vehicle was towed to a lexus dealer, diagnosed and they didn't tell him what caused the acceleration. Acceleration problem 2008 lexus e350. While entering the florida turnkpike, i accelerated quickly to merge ahead of traffic.i pushed the accelerator pedal to the floor.the pedal stuck.it felt like the vehicle speed control took over.i accelerated quickly from 45mph to 85 mph.my first reaction was to hit the brake pedal.as i looked down at the accelerator before i hit the brake, it was depressed.when i hit the brake several times it released.while shaken, i continued on to my destination in miami.i was careful not to accelerate quickly.when i returned to west palm beach i took the vehicle to the lexus dealer and informed them of the problem.the lexus dealer indicated my vehicle was part of the recall for floor mats.the floor mats were not secured to the hooks.the floormat hook holes were behind the hooks and mats were back against the front seat supports.the mats were no where near the brake pedal or the accelerator at the time of the incident or when i arrived at the lexus dealership. The service manager insisted the problem occurred due to the floor mats.i disagreed knowing the position of the mats when the incident occurred and the reaction of the vehicle.the dealership replaced the recalled floormats.my complaint is they denied there is a problem with the vehicle speed control and insisted it was a problem with the floor mats.i have a difficult time understanding why they are not also checking the vehicle speed control software.while this is the only occurrence of this type of incident since i have owned the vehicle, i now have a very uneasy feeling about accelerating quickly.since i have owned the car, there have been very few times i accelerated quickly.i don't feel my concern or complaint has been properly addressed.there was never any indication from the lexus dealer that they looked any further than the floormats to solve the problem.the dealership is lexus of west palm beach.please advise.

On november 5, 2008 i was driving on a freeway in my 2008 lexus es 350 with the cruise control on. I gave the car a little extra gas to pass another car and the car just took off.i tried to disengage the accelerator by trying to turn offthe cruise control switch as well as tapping on the brake pedal, but it would not disengage. I tried to turn off the engine by pushing the keyless ignition button, but it would not turn off. I checked the floor to make sure that there wasn't anything on the accelerator, and there wasn't. I then put the car in neutral, but when i did this, the engine sounded as if it were going to explode, so i put it back in gear. By this time, i was going well over 100 mph. My only choice was to stand on the brakes. Within seconds, the car was in a cloud of smoke coming from the 4 wheels/brakes. The car began to slow as thankfully the brakes were stronger than the engine which was going at its maximum rpm's. The car went over a mile before finally coming to a stop. I was then able to put the car in park and stop the engine. After a few moments, when i had calmed down a bit, i started the engine again and it immediately start racing at maximum rpm's again, so i shut it off and called hendrick lexus. They sent a tow truck to tow the car in. When we got to the dealership, i told the service director that i was lucky that i wasn't killed and i did not want to ever get in that car again. He stated that he understood the seriousness of the event. Lexus investigated and said that there must have been something heavy on the accelerator. This is simply not true. The "experts" that lexus brought in from out to do an investigation never even acknowledged that i was unable to disengage the cruise control during this life threatening situation. An internet search has determined that there are more than 40 cases of "runaway accelerator" reported to the nhtsa on the es350, and many of these incidents have resulted in serious crashes and personal injuries.

While entering my garage, my car suddenly accelerated and smashed into the rear wall destroying a cabinet and refridgerator and went through the wall.i couldn't stop the car as evidenced by brake skid marks on the garage floor.lexus later inspected the car and claimed they could find no defect. Fortunately my wife and i were only shaken up from the deployment of the airbags. The car was totaled. My home and auto insurance covered part of the damage and lexus has disavowed any responsibility, but they never inspected the damage to our home or the evidence that i was trying to stop the car almost from the instant it entered the garage. I can provide pictures by email, but i can't seem to retrieve them for this document. T

On october 1, 2009 my 2008 lexuses 350 experienced uncontrolled acceleration.upon entering the highway the vehicle increased in speed toapprox. 90 mphwithout depressing the accelerator.the vehicle did notstopor slow downeven after stepping forcefully on the brakes.i pushed the start/stop button on the dashboard numeroustimes and the car would not stop or cut off. Somehow, through the grace of god i begin shifting the gears, once the gear was placed in neutral the speed finally broke and the car slowed down.the vehicle wassteeredto the side of the road where the car had difficulty coming to a complete stop.once the car actually stopped i called the lexus dealership anda flatbed was sent andthe car was towed to the dealership for service.the lexus service department determined the damage consisted of burnt front pads and rotors and burnt rear pads and rotors that all occurred while trying to stop the runaway vehicle.

2008 lexus 350 unexpected acceleration. Moving slow in parking lot pulling into parking space. Light pressure on brake. Engine went to high rpm car accelerated pushed hard on brake, put in neutral. I was driving a 2008 lexus es 350 down wisconsin avenue in bethesda, md and was stationary at a red traffic light at the intersection of wisconsin avenue and bradley blvd. When the light changed to green, upon lightly pressing the accelerator to get my car moving again, it started to rapidly accelerate (out of my control) and, despite my pressing the brakes with full force, the car was moving very fast and stopped only after a few hundred feet, when it crashed into the vehicle in front of me. That vehicle crashed into another vehicle in front of it. A car hit me from behind as well. My airbags went off and my car was damaged so much that it had to be towed away. I am convinced that this accident was caused by a accelerator defect in the car. This is consistent with the ongoing toyota investigation into accelerator defects in my car model. I am lucky that i survived. Had i not been in heavy traffic, that forced my car to stop, i can only imagine how much more speed i would have gained resulting in likely much greater damage to life and property.

I had almost finished parking my'08 lexus es 350 in a parking place at a business park when it surged forward very fast. I had not touched the accelerator. I brake hard, but the car went up over a cement divider and crashed into the car parked facing me. I hadthe car one and half years, and this was the first time it happened. I had it towed to the lexus dealership. An inspector found nothing wrong externally, but the edr showed i had not stepped on the accelerator before the crash, only the brake, and yet it had surged forward. I had taken the car in earlier for the recall, and had removed the mat and had something added to the software. I sold the car back to lexus immediately as i never wanted to step foot in it again. This is a very dangerous car, and something is wrong with the electronics to cause this.

I was driving south on interstate 5 in california near oceanside on may 10, 2009 from orange county towards carlsbad, ca. When approaching highway 78, i feltthe vehicle increasing in speed to about 90 mph, without depressing the accelerator. I had been on cruise control at about 73 mph (probably 68-69 mph actual speed). I had two passengers in my car. The female passenger screamed at me to slow down. I was unable to do so even after stepping forcefully on the brakes. Also disengaged the cruise control, by pushing thebutton on the end of a stem, so that the green cruise indicator light disappeared, since i noticed the cruise control still on even after touching the brakes ( i assumed from previous experience that speed controls are ignored when stepping on the brake)my commands to slow the car down were inactive, but i continued pumping the brakes and the other passenger suggested to turn the engine off; so i pushed the start/kill button on the dashboard briefly, but did not hear or noticed the engine stopping. Somehow, a few seconds later the car finally slowed down and i steered the car to side of the road and stopped the car to get my breath back. After a few minutes i started the engine and she (the vehicle) responded normal. And proceeded on i-5 to my home in carlsbad (about 3-4 miles) from where i finally got control of the vehicle.so far this incidence only occurred once.took the car to the dealer, after hearing about a fatal accident caused by a similar event ( stuck accelerator) was told that the car checked out ok and could not repeat this problem.preliminary cause for the fatal crashin this area was explained by a mat that was not properly anchored.i did have non-standard mats in the car, but could not have caused a stuck accelerator during my incidentin my opinion, however i have removed the driver's seat mat . The contact previously leased a 2008 lexus es350. The contact stated that within one year of leasing the vehicle, she was driving at approximately 40 mph when the vehicle suddenly began to accelerate because the pedal was stuck. She was able to release the pedal and avoid a crash. She called the dealer and was told that the mats were the cause so she took them out of the vehicle. On 01/22/2010, while driving, the vehicle suddenly accelerated from 60 mph up to almost 100 mph. She kicked the pedal until it released. She then returned the vehicle to the dealership and refused to drive it. She was waiting for the dealer to terminate the lease. The current and failure mileages were approximately 37,000.

2008 lexus es 350. Consumer writes to advise of a recent experience with the mandated recall to correct the supposed acceleration problem. *tgwthe consumer stated he had never experienced any problems with his vehicle before the recall work.after the recall work was performed, the consumer was very unhappy with the position of the pedal and the loud noise that was plainly audible when driving. Upon his insistence, the service was performed again. The pedal problem was corrected, but the road noise persists. The consumer discovered without his knowledge, the dealership had replaced the original insulation with styrofoam. Styrofoam instead of sound-proofing material does not seem to be an appropriate solution, since it magnifies sound.

The contact owns a 2008 lexus es350. The contact stated that the dashboard was melted and there was a glare on the front windshield. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact called hennessy lexus of gwinnett (3383 satellite blvd, duluth, ga 30096 (770) 680-1000) but was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact was informed the warranty policy expired. The manufacturer was contacted but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was unknown.*dt*tp

While stopping for gas, tried to raise window to wash it and it came off track.tried again and still off track.managed to get it raised and in closed position but now the same thing will happen again as soon as i try to lower it.

I rolled down the passenger side window of my lexus 2008 es350 and the window came off track.the window jumped out of the track as i attempted to roll it up and appears to be falling off the car. This is a window that i seldom roll-down. I believe that due to this problem which i consider to be a safety hazard that the lexus 2008 es350 cars should be recalled.

Takata recall-i purchased my vehicle 2008 lexus es350 in feb.2017 and the tire pressure light was on and i was told by the seller that it would go off once i drive it for a few minutesafter taking it home, a few days later it was still on. Took it back and was told the spare tire was a little deflated and that may have been the cause. Took it home and about 2 weeks later it was back on again.took it back and was told there was a tiny pin hole in the tire that was missed and was corrected. Took it home and maybe a few weeks later it was back on again. I went back and told the service department it could possibly be a sensor. The dealer then had my car sent to the lexus dealer to fix it and i got it back the next day and it stayed off for about 2 months then came back on again. Took it back and spoke to the service department and was then told it was definitely the sensor and i was told to take it to "next level" which is a shop that makes repairs and this was 2 weeks ago which i haven't since the light haven't came back on as of today. All of the times it came on, it was parked, and when it was turned on the tire pressure light was on.this should have been corrected by the dealer since it was an issue from the beginning....
