No action taken on the part of lexus regarding recall for unsafe airbags.recall was issued in may of 2016; it's been one year.

Takata recall. I live in zone a. My lexus dealer still has no parts.your repair rate chart has no listing for lexus.i take this to mean that no lexus air bags have been replaced.i find this very disturbing.i would like to know when i can expect the air bag in my car to be replaced.

Takata air bag recall - the recall letter for air bag was issued on may 23, 2016 and the car manufacture lexus has no remedy yet for passenger air bag replacement.it is approaching one year since the recall for the passenger air bag recall.it is unacceptable to take almost one year without remedy.

The contact owns a 2011 lexus es-r350. The contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 16v340000 (air bags) and stated that the part needed was unavailable to perform the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

"takata recall"the first contact was a letter nhtsa - takata airbag inflation expansion summary of phase (zone a - gop (intrimg1p). The second contact was a letter dated may 23, 2016 stating safety recall glg & glh (intrim g2g & g2h)the third contactwas a letter with my vin: [xxx]and nhtsa recall no. 16v -340 . I went to my lexus dealership september 14, 2017 and asked when my defective car will be repaired. I was told that the lady that handles car defects was in a meeting and she would call me as soon as possible. The next day the lady from lexus car defects called me back and said that they were working on earlier year models at present. She said that she did not know when lexus would be working on the 2011 airbag defects. I feel that the federal government is complacent and should be doing more. Why can't the federal government tell any and all car manufacturers you have a few months to repair defects or the federal government will start limiting the amount of new cars that they can sell in the u.s.a.? the federal government has the stick but refuses to use it. Our lives don't matter only "money" matters!information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Takata recall. Date of the recall is 5/23/16. Today is 2/27/17. Lexus' advice is to not allow anyone to ride in the passenger seat until the airbag is replaced. Lexus told me today they have no scheduled date for when takata will have the replacement airbag available for my model. 10 months (with no repair date scheduled) is unreasonable and unacceptable while having to avoid having a passenger ride in the front seat. And i see only 28% of the lexus vehicles have had the passenger airbags replace thus far. So my complaint is that the action being taken by nhtsa and lexus, and the urgency by takata are unacceptable. It is approaching a year now that we will been asked to ride in a potentially unsafe vehicle. Absurd.

I was notified in july of 2016 i called them twice in tampa florida. To this date they told me to call them again in january 2017. This is almost six months since i was notified i have passengers in my car on a daily basis. And i live in florida where it is very hot and humid in the car it can get over 200 degrees.

Takata recall. I received a recall notice eleven months ago. May 2016. I was told the replacement would take place in late december 2016 or by january 2017. It is now april 21, 2017 and as of this day nothing. Toyota has had ample time to resolve this issue. My vehicle is in zone a recall. We have inquired through lexus every 60 days, as to staus of repair/recall and each time have been told there is no information or remedy available as yet. One year is ample time to find a solution to this problem. What is my recourse at this point?

I have called and contacted lexus many times regarding the problem with my lexus car. I have followed up and done all the required feedback needed in order for lexus to assist me. I feel that customers do not really matter because of the length of time lexus is taking to ensure the safety of the people who drive the vehicles when there may be a serious matter. The car manual states one thing and lexus does not even abide by the car alerts and does not appear to care if the customer is safe or not. I have taken my car to 3 different car maintenance shops regarding the tire pressure light and i have replaced many sensors and the light continue not to go off. The brakes in my car totally went out and caused an accident. . i have been told also what about the air bag. Why did lexus not contact me to take my car in for air bag replacement because it did not deploy in the accident. This is a lexus vehicle and i do not understand why lexus cannot give an explanation of what is wrong. I wonder if lexus is waiting on another tragedy to happen before intervening. God protect me everyday but lexus has a big responsibility and because of the name should step up to the plate.i still have not been contacted by lexus to resolve the problem with my tire pressure light. I received a letter from carlos garcia with toyoto which in the letter he had statement that did not exist and i called lexus and someone stated they did not give toyoto that information. In the letter from toyoto, only the airbag was addressed which my whole case has nothing to do with the air bags. I called mr. Garcia and he stated that he had accidently mistaken me with the wrong person and that he will call me the next day to clear the matter up.

Takata recall - it has been over a year and lexus has not come up with a solution, putting me and my family in danger!

May 23,2016manufacturer recall numberglgnhtsa recall number16v340recall statusrecall incompletestill the local dealer is refusing to fix theproblem.i have to use my car going to work, city and highway from frisco to mckinney in texas.

Lexus has not been able to resolve the issue with my passenger front airbag since may of 2016.i understand to some degree the delay caused by the massive number of issues with the takata corporation's products, however this has prevented the use of my front passenger seat for over 7 months with no end in sight.this seems unacceptable for any manufacturer, particularly one of the stature of lexus.

I have not received a recall notice for my air bag but received a notice that says "toyota's record indicate that you maybe a class member" is my car recalled?

Takata recallwe received the recall notice over 14 months ago and a remedy has not yet been made available.the rental car offered until the remedy was available did not match the type and standard of the vehicle affected or its safgety equipment -- no problem with airbag yet but wondering if it only a matter of time

Nothing has happened. Why is it taking lexus so long to fix the problem? especially since there is potentially serious danger possible.

Takata recall.we received notice of the takata airbag recall in roughly august of 2016. It said that a passenger should not sit in the passenger seat. My wife and i are retired and always drive together. This recall made our lexus undriveable for the past year and 3 months. There has been no recompensation by lexus.

Takata recall. When do they propose to do something since it has been over a year since i received the notice. It is nice that they say don't drive with an occupant in the front passenger seat. However, not everyone has the luxury of doing this. Maybe lexus executives have multiple vehicles so they do not have to have passengers ride with them. If that is their solution, the ceo of lexus can lend me one of his cars until they get around to fixing mine.

Supplemental restraint system (srs) warning light is illuminating on instrument panel and does not go out when car is started and driven.

Takata recall. I received a recall notice eleven months ago. May 2016. I was told the replacement would take place in late december 2016 or by january 2017. It is now april 20,2017 and as of this day nothing. Toyota has had ample time to resolve this issue. My vehicle is in zone a recall

"takata recall", after contacting local lexus dealership i made an appointment on 9/8/2017 to have repairs made, i was told no remedy available per the local lexus dealership (lexus of bellevue).it is now 12/19/2017 and still no repairs or remedy from lexus.

Takata recall. I have been afraid to use the passenger front seat since the recall was announced. Therefore, i can use only 3/4 of the car. They are taking way too long to address this. If they cannot fix it, they should compensate me for the missing 1/4 of the car.

Takata recall i purchased this vehicle two years ago as of december 2017. I have as of yet had this airbag replaced. When i call the dealer; tom williams lexus they do not return phone calls. I need to know when and if they will replace this airbag

Takata recall; i have major concern relevant to not only the pass/side air bag, but to the driver side air bag also. I request both sides be replaced, unless you can provide data that will confirm there is no issue with drivers side air bag. Dealer/sewell advised my work would be done in sept 17. They have yet to set up an appt for my repairs. Pls help. Thanks

Takata recall:information from lexus dealer is parts to correct the recalled air bag problem will not be available till january 2017.this is totally unacceptable and unreasonable to expect the customer to wait five or six months for repairs.

The contact owns a owns a 2011 lexus es350. The contact stated that the driver exited the vehicle and forgot to shut the ignition off. The vehicle was equipped with a push to start and stop feature. The engine continued to run until a carbon monoxide detector sounded. The driver suffered carbon monoxide poisoning and as a result, was taken to a hospital to treat the condition. The vehicle was not taken to have the failure diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. The vin was unavailable.

Capability of lexus es 350 year 2007: it was impossible for one to be locked out of one's car with the smart keyin the cabin or in the trunk.if the smart key were in the cabin, one could not lock the doors and would be alerted with loud continuous signal.if the smart key were in the trunk, one could not lock the trunk and would alerted with a loud continuous signal.this capability does not exist with the lexus es 350 year 2011:if one locks all the doors to the cabin and then accidentally places the smart key into the trunk. The truck can then be locked leaving the driver in the cold with no way to get back into car. This a safety hazard. We were not alerted about this safety hazard when we traded in our 2007 lexus es 350 for the 2011 lexus es 350.lexus response: once we were able to get to a phone, lexus indicated that we must have the car towed to a lexus dealing!!!recommend that lexus fix this safety defect on lexus es 350 year 2011.

At approximately 6:30pm, while making a right hand turn into a friends driveway, the vehicle suddenly accelerated on it's own, and the brakes would not work.the vehicle continued to the right as if locked in to the right hand position, hit a tree and finally came to a stop by hitting high concrete steps.the vehicle was towed to the dealership, and later to the body shop as the vehicle was not drivable.during the interim, the vehicle was inspected by toyota.post investigation, the letter recently received from toyota states "during the limited test drive accelerating and braking tests were conducted and the vehicle performed with no abnormalities found".the vehicle was not drivable per the mechanic at the dealership and the mechanic at the body shop, due to the significant damage and fluid leakage. This letter from toyota's investigation is incongruent with the facts as i know them.as of this date, june 3, 2012, the vehicle is still being worked on.

At about 2:00 pm on dec 26, 2011, while parking in a public covered garage, iturned into the parking space, positioned my car, and was about to turn off the engine when the car lurched forward, hitting the concrete wall in front of me.the passenger in my car, my 21 year old daughter, also a licensed driver, felt the car lurch and accelerate forward.since i had reached a good parking position, i am certain that i had my foot on the brake and would not have been trying to accelerate. The injury to my foot, from all indications, shows that my foot was on the break.i had it x-rayed on dec 27 at a patient first medical facility and also was seen on dec 28, by my family physician.he examined my foot and indicated that my ankle sprain was injured as i was braking; it would not have sustained that injury if my ankle would have been on the accelerator.

While traveling on the highway with the traffic at approximately 70mph, midmorning, we heard a loud pop from the car. We saw nothing on the road and no one else traveling around us experienced any problems. We were notified by a car traveling next to us that we were leaking gas. We proceeded off the highway at the first exit and pulled into a gas station and shut down the car. Within 8-10 min, the entire tank of gas (we just filled the tank up approximately 20 min prior) had leaked onto the ground. The fire dept was called just in case the car blew up. The firefighter looked under the vehicle and put a plug in the gas tank to stop what fuel was left from leaking out the tank. The car was towed to the closest dealer.the serviceman at the dealership determined the car had a whole in the gas tank, a dented oil pan and a small 2in gash in the spare-tire well ( the latter two we never verified). The vehicle, purchased new 1 month prior, had been driven approximately 600-800 miles within a 4 day period. As the main driver, i noticed the vehicle had a slow takeoff and took several pushes of the gas peddle to get moving eventhough it is a 6 cylinder vehicle.

The leather on both driver and passenger seats have failed and split, deteriorated and the leather on the armrest between seats have deteriorated.

Vehicle due for regular, periodic service at lexus of manhattan.arrived @ 07:00.at 09:35 service manager informed us of serious problems with the rotors, brakes, and alignment.said they had completed the alignment and cautioned the vehicle would have to subsequently have major braking system repairs.vehicle was leased new in may 2011.had never exhibited a single problem.was driven ~98% highways.always garaged.never parked on a city street.this lexus either is a "lemon" or the dealer is fabricating the truth.problems reported to lexus. Response:"the problems with the vehicle are not covered and must have resulted from your misusing the vehicle."in effect, lexus is taking their dealer's side in this situation leaving the door open to this complaint to the federal authorities. This situation is pure nonsense and either the vehicle is a "lemon" or the dealer was "up-selling" an unnecessary repair. Lexus has refused to authorize this vehicle be inspected by their own technicians.thus lexus customer satisfaction (the people with whom i was speaking at lexus) is putting itself into the position of admitting there is something wrong with their vehicle but they will not even investigate their dealer's findings!something is (again) very wrong with the people from toyota!

The contact owns a 2011 lexus es. While driving approximately 65 mph, there was a vibration emerging from the frontal driver and passenger side floor panels. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the wheel bearings needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 38,000.the vin was not available.

The dashboard is melting which results in the noxious chemical smell and adhesive compound that is sticky to the touch.

At approximately 7:23 pm on july 8, 2012, while parking in the parking lot of our local church, the vehicle suddenly accelerated on its own. The car was almost at a complete stop, when this sudden uncontrolled acceleration occurred. At that time lots of people were exiting the church and walking towards the parking lot to get into their cars, while others were inside and outside their vehicles waiting for the next service to start.i was terrified since as hard as i pushed the brake pedal, my car continued accelerating ; it ran over the concreteparking bump, hit an electrical installation, and came to a complete stop whenit hit a parked suv on the opposite side of the parking lot. The front section of my car was completely destroyed to the point where it was not drivable. I towed the vehicle to my house and later to the lexus dealership for an inspection. An inspector from lexus corporation inspected it on july 17, 2012. He called me the same day to let me know that the inspection was completed, however he would not disclose any inspection results, due to lexus policy. I am still awaiting a formal response from lexus.

The consumer has since been informed by the dealer, it is no longer an option to leave the keys in the vehicle.
