Takata recall.this recall came out in may 2016.lexus suggest not letting anyone ride in the front passenger seat.this doesn't seem reasonable to take this long, i can't use my car with anyone in the front seat.

Takata recall.recall notice came some months ago. Was told by dealer on 5/28/17that it would take until september -- after the summer when i need the car most -- before it can be fixed.totally unacceptable.

Takata recall:we received notice of safety recallletter dated june 9, 2016, from lexus stating there is defect relating to our 2007 es350 involving front passenger airbag inflators produced by takata. After months of no action by lexus, we followed up with lexus on september 27, 2016, and they stated parts were not available.we are in great need of our vehicle and are concerned with our safety in that we are located in zone a which puts us at great risk.

Takata recall -this recall was issued on may 4, 2017.repair was scheduled in september 2017.in the meantime, itwas recommended that no one sit in the front passenger seat.after waiting six months !!!. The repair date was missed and no new date has been promised for repair. Still waiting and cannot use the front passenger seat !!

10885689- sterling mccall lexus representatives say that it is a "courtesy " and "not mandated by the nhtsa" to provide a replacement vehicle. I was also informed that "i must have full insurance coverage to lease a car". (i have a 5 passenger 2007 lexus es, which is paid in full) it is not required that i have full insurance coverage with the state of tx. This will cost more money. Lexus is concerned with their own economics and not with consumer safety by presenting hardships, making it difficult and taking advantage of customers in providing replacement vehicles for owners who need their vehicles to provide a decent living, who are on a budget, financially challenge.

Takata inflators : please i'm worried about the air bag exploding its been ten years since i bought the car , the recall should have been already resolved ,since its (zone a 6-9 years) please make it a priority to replace the air bag in my car [xxx].information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'

Takata recallin january 2017 i was advised by my dealer, stevinson lexus, that my lexus was subject to a recall to replace defective airbags.despite repeated follow up on my part, the replacement still has not been scheduled and the dealer says that toyota has not provided the needed parts.i am very concerned about the potential danger.

Takata recall:the takata airbag problem should be removed immediately.i did not buy a 1 seated front seat car and this is what i'm forced to drive now.when is my airbag going to be replaced?

Takata inflators recall

My airbag is still good but the lexus and automobile bereau contact me for repair so how am i stopping them to annoy me.

I have had my lexus since 2007 i have many times recieved letters for my recall on the air bags recall id rtpw-48q i called and spoke with lexus who then set up an account with me and then found me a location to have the recallfixed this was around october of 2018 since then i have had some troubling findings that i believe my husband at the time has possiblydone things to my car that could potentially harm or kill not only me but my 6 year old i do no my dash has been removed and replaced andsince iv seen my husband in his mechanic shop pull dashes off i no he is experienced i was also unexpectedly his on my driver's side about 9 months ago and the car sped off and i was told to not call the police but a state rd worker witnessed itwhat i need is for someone to help me i know these things are not manufactured problems besides the airbag please can you help me if recentlyfound that my brakes seem to be not stopping as well and it sound like there bad however my brakes were done about a year ago by my husband and this happened over night please i need a honest person to look at my lexus and see if alterations have been made and verify my recall my recall on lexus website says my vin is not correct for the recall

Melting dashboard emitting out poisonous smell, cause my throats uncomfortable and coughing. My kid complains about there is always smell in my car and felt dizzy and headache whenever sitting in. Need to evaluate the chemical released and its impact to health.

Takata recalllexus filed dir (defect information report) on may 23, 2016, notification received in mail july 2016, still no remedy available. Lexus has failed to remedy the defect within a reasonable time.

My car is included in the takata airbag recall.it has been more than a year since we were notified of this problem.to date it has not been fixed and there is no clear date when they will be able to fix it.i've been instructed by lexus that the remedy for now is that nobody can sit in the front passenger side seat.that is totally unacceptable.i feel as though they are dragging their feet in the hopes that as time goes by, more of the older cars will be taken off the road so they won't need to be repaired.we need action on this, it is a major safety and convenience issue.

Takata recall - how is it that this is this serious with so many people dying and we do not even have an estimate on when their could be a remedy. This is unacceptable. My 26 year old son drives this car and i worry every day either come up with a solution and an eta or buy the car back or give me a rental until there is a solution.

Takata recallas of today, 1/8/17, the recall status from lexus is still "recall incomplete.remedy not yet available"according to the nhtsa-takata airbag inflator expansion phases/zones, i am in zone a.given the date of my car, i would say any degradation expected has occurred and leaves me in danger daily.in the meantime, i am riding almost daily in the passenger seat where the airbag could could cause me serious damage or death.how long does the nhtsa allow manufacturers to go without remedies?what recourse do i have, other than me riding in the back seat when my husband drives?surely they are not still manufacturing cars with the same defaults, so why can't they replace mine with one that they currently use in their vehicles?

Toyota/lexus refusing to fix this recall on my lexus vehicle.

Takata recall.recall notice sent out in mail.no plan for corrective action.

There has been a recall on the front passenger air bag, produced by takata, and the my lexus dealer in schaumburg, illlinois, has not contacted metro fix the problem. It has been too long. I had filed a complaint over the phone with you in february ( #10957566). Can you please let me know what is going on and how much time longer i am supposed to wait...this is ridiculous !

Takata recall

Takata recall. We received a recall in may 2016, and nothing has been done. It's been 7 months. I understand that because of the age of our car and the fact that we live in a very hot state, the chances of our air bags exploding are very high. Because of this, i think 7 months is too long to wait for a fix.

Takata recall:i like to know when my vehicle is going to be called to replace the air bag that has been worrying our family since its almost ten years we bought the car, the bag should have been replaced 2 years backthanks [xxx] *dlinformation redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

"takata recalllexus states that not to have anyone set on the passenger side front until recall is complete.how are you suppose to use the vehicle like that

Takata recall

My airbag recall came to me today 7/18/2017 - i found out about this recall from facebook back in sept. 2016 - i called lexus was informed to drive the car over - i signed a paper stating i was not allowed to drive my car and it must sit in my garage for as long as there is no part to replace it with - they gave me a loaner car but after 10 months later and my car dead - the part came in - it was like pulling teeth to get them to even look at the car and did not want to even put in a new battery - after complaining and working with the home office they did a complete once over and a new battery - my car is working now - but - lexus should have done something for their customers - lawyers all over the place want to help you get your money back - lexus didn't even want to hear about any issues you had - complaints etc..... You would think they would want to assist you with more items to replace on your car - 10 months of waiting?????? crazy !!!!!!

"takata recall"visited the local dealership in metairie, la to have recall taken care of. They said they would contact me when they were ready to fix problem. My wife and i are senior citizens and are afraid to sit as a passenger of our own car.why is this taking so long. Over a year since we received notice.can we demand the use of a similar loaner car?please have this complaint checked.thanks

Takata recall: what is the legal requirements of the auto manufacture in respect to completing this recall? what is i am entitled today?can i sell the car?can dealerships sell cars with a known (unsolved) safety recall?

Was in car crash where the air bags should have been ejected and they did not!

Takata recall inflator has not been fixed received letter in may 23 2016.

"takata recall" ...dealer is not able to provide date of replacement...only that the car will be recalled based upon state registration data bank. Not a valid response in our mind.

On thur nov 6, 2009, at approx 6:00 pm., i was driving on a wet country lane in wexford, pa.driving slowly, less than 15 mph on an up hill curve, i applied my brakes and shortly afterward the engine unexpectedly and unintentionally accelerated causing my car to swerve to the left and into shrubbery adjacent to the lane. My foot was not on the accelerator and the floor mat was anchored. Auto damage is minor limited to left front bumper, est at $1,000-$1,500 damage.

On friday sept 16, , 2016 the lexus was being parked ( by sally my wife who has been driving this car for many years) on the driveway of my home on 198 compton ave edison , the brakes became hard and car kept moving crashed the garage door and a second car car parked inside the garageboth driver airbags deployed , she was fortunate that the accident was not fatal; the brakes and discs were new and done 2 months ago;

Takata recall

Over the last couple of years, at least 7 times, i have had my car stay running while i am at a restaurant or when i return home.i park outside and at least 3 times over the last 6 years neighbors have called and said did you know that your car engine was running.about three weeks ago, in early august, i was at a restaurant in clinton, new york where the car was running on the street several blocks away for the whole time we were in the restaurant.each time i thought i'd put my foot on the brake and pushed in the button to shut off the car.i am so glad that you are investigating this.if i had an interior garage where i parked at my home, i could have killed people with the build up of the carbon monoxide.i can't see why toyota can't have a blinking light when the car is on or have the car automatically cut off after a few minutes.one other thing, is that my car, which i love, runs so quietly, that it is almost impossible to hear the engine when it is idling.thank you so much for investigating this serious issue.

Check engine and vsc lights were displayed at 54,000 miles. Error codes indicated ignition coil. This issues has been reported multiple times for the 07 es 350 and 08 gs. This is a clear defect and it should be replaced via a recall.

Smoke started coming out of hood when returning home.opened hood to check engine and choked on smoke.after engine cooled, found vvt-i tube is leaking at lower end of rubber hose.engine oil had accumulated around engine compartment aft, a bit foward of vvt-i tube, and to passenger side.searched internet and saw that lsc-90k oil line "campaign" has the exact same part that is part of campaign that failed on my engine, but my vin is not part of campaign.

At the top of our driveway just outside the garage door, my wife put our 07' lexus es350 in gear and seconds later the vehicle began to accelerate wildly. She was unable to slow the car's wild acceleration down the driveway and caught part of a retaining wall on the property which flipped the vehicle on it's side. I was inside the house at the time but heard the car's engine rev just before the crash. The accident appears to have initiated by some extremely dangerous mechanical failure that allowed the engine to rev uncontrollably . Our insurance company will soon be towing the lexus to their facility. I notified a claims agent that the accident should be brought to the attention of nhtsa however, the agent was not aware of how to coordinate the effort so i am proceeding forward myself asap. The car is obviously totaled and i'm not sure what insurance will do with the vehicle.

My oil line is leaking,i did research and found a recall on this part. Can i get this repaired...

The front timing cover seal on my car was resealed at 105,124 miles @ a cost of$2,804.52 plus tax on november 2014. The car was 8 years old. I am now being told that the timing cover needs to be resealed/replaced again. The car had 160,830 miles when i took it in for service on 5/3/2021. By the way, the service adviser wrote the wrong mileage. He mistakenly wrote 168,036 miles as the odometer reading. When i asked what is causing this issue he had no answer. I contacted lexus customer service to inquire into what causes the seal to need replacement every 7 or so years. Case # 210506001409 was assigned. The customer service called today and informed me that the service manager at crown lexus in ontario informed her the sealer shrinks overtime. However, she could not provide a reason for the shrinkage. I need to know what causes this so i can decide whether to continue putting money into this car. This does seem right to me. I think it is a manufacturing defect. I simply need to know why they continue to use sealers that they know will shrink. The new cost to repair this car is approximately $3500. The customer service person did not know the name of the sealer that was being used. She could only refer me to the service manager at the dealer and i do not feel comfortable talking to him about this because he gave her no real explanation other than it shrinks. Other customers are having the same problem with their cars. If i have contacted the wrong office please direct to me to someone who can help. By the way, i asked for a written response and was told she could not provide one.

Transmission had issues with flare at speeds of 30-40 mph on a cold start and brought it to lexus and they updated my ecu with the software.after getting the car back they had a jerking/hesitation between 1st and 2nd gear.this happens every time when when at a stop and slowly accelerating.lexus recommended a new transmission, but i did some research and lots of owners had this issue for the early 2007 models of the es350.apparently lexus is a ware of the issue but has done nothing about it.

The button on the deck lid to open had become very sticky as if melted also the steering wheel has the same problem.it is as if the coating on both has become like putty.

The lower beam hid lights went out intermittently (sometimes left, sometimes right front-light). After stopping and turning off the ignition, the lights come on again after restarting the engine. A few times, both lights turned off at the same time, so that i was completely in the dark and i had to pull over and stop the car.after i replaced the bulbs, it improved for about 6 month. After that, the same problem started again this created some very scary situations, especially when it happened when i drove at night on a dark freeway with heavy traffic and at high speed.

Pulled over in dec 2012 and given verbal by police because driver side low beam headlight out/while talking to police clicked lights on and off and headlight started working.had balance changed. 29 sep 2013 pulled over by police because drive side low beam headlight out/clicked lights on andoffand light working/received ticket for improper headlight.

The issue that i am having with my 2007 lexus es 350 is while im in motion on a highway or street both of my headlights will shut off. I have to manually turn the headlight switch off then on again and thats when they will come back on, it happens several times while driving. Sometimes the left headlight will turn off and the right stays on and vice versa for the right or both. I contacted the dealership and they said i needed the headlamp replaced but once i did some research on this issue with the make and model of my vehicle i realized there are numerous of individuals having the same dangerous issue with having the headlamps replace the issue still remains the headlamps shut off completely inhibiting the view of the highway at night. This is very dangerous. I have been pulled over by the police because of this. Ive replaced headlights several times and it still happens every single time i drive!!!

The headlights are supposed to track with the direction of my i front tires.for the past 2+ years my headlights have sporadically been turning off.sometimes it will be one light, other times it will be both.i am forced to turn on my brights.usually, i can immediately switch back to my low beam and they will come back on.i took the car to my local auto repair shop so they could change the light bulbs. After inspecting the lights, they found the plastic mount was disintegrating.the heat from the halogen lights was deteriorating the plastic.as a result, the mount was unable to track. They did not want to attempt to replace the bulbs because the whole unit was too fragile.

Both headlights go out by themselves while driving. It has happened four times.the dash indicator light shows the headlights are on. Manually turning the headlights off and on gets themon again. Very frightening and unsafe to all of a sudden have no headlights. I have appointment with lexus to fix, but should be a recall safety item.

I am 100% sure i experienced sudden acceleration.here are the facts:1. Approximately 4-5 p.m., i was eastbound on sepulveda blvd., torrance, ca. (almost at the corner of arlington ave) about to complete my last errand of the day to pick up a prescription at rite aid drug store. I turned right into the parking lot, noticed a spot on my left and decided to park there. The parking space was approximately 20-30 feet from the entrance and i proceeded to pull into it, easing up on the gas pedal and guiding my car into the space. My car was almost in the parking position, facing east and i was applying the brake to finalize the act. There was an empty parking space in front of my car, but there were parked cars to the left and to the right.2. As i was applying the brake, and out of nowhere, the car accelerated, jumped an island in front of my car, and hit the two parked cars. I hit the front passenger side of car a and swerved to left, side swiping the left rear passenger side of car (b). All i could think about was steering clear of any people so i headed for a clear open space and in the process, my car jumped another island and i was headed straight for sepulveda blvd which is a main thoroughfare. Braking did not stop the car so i threw the gear into 'park' and it finally came to a stop. The location of the final stop was in the northeast corner of the parking lot, away from people. Thank god no one was hurt. I had nightmares thinking about what could have happened. This car was out of control.state farm has ruled that i am 51% at fault because i did not maintain control of the vehicle.also i lost my excellent good driver safety discounts besides the lost value of the car.in addition, this incident represents the deadly force this car represents to public safety.it went through 2 recalls and still it presents clear and present danger.

This vehicle has a problem with random hard down shifting when it is almost stopped. The hard down shift will happen and then vehicle will lunge forward.i did slight run into the back of another vehicle when this happened in a parking lot. This could be potentially very dangerous if the lunge would hit a pedestrian or cause the vehicle to enter heavy traffic. I have reported this many times to the lexus dealership, who is unable to duplicate the problem because of the random nature.

The transmission won't shift passed 3rd gear. I tried driving one day and that's what it begin doing. The oil was at the correct levels and it still behaved that way. It has been doing this ever since.

When you step on the break to start the car the brake pedal becomes very stiff in the car will not start. You have to push real hard on the pedal to try and start the car

Dashboard melting causinga reflection on windshield.

The dash board on my car is melting the glare is very bad makes driving on a sunny day very dangerous car is not safe.

Dashboard started to deteriorate becoming sticky and shiny creating a visibility issue.

I'm responding to the segment i saw on the news regarding the melting dashboards. I took my car into the lexus dealership back in 2010. They were not very friendly as a matter of fact they tried to make me feel stupid by telling me that who ever is washing and clearing my vehicle maybe using a cheapproduct on the vinyl. And when i asked about the areas that were not melting. I was told that, those areas are probably not being cleaned.i was then asked if i'm present when my car is being cleaned and what products are being used. I contacted lexus again this year after learning that someone wrote a story about melting dashboards and i was told that they didn't know anything about it and it sounds like wear and tear. With the dashboard melting like it is,leaves a blinding glare which in my opinion is very dangerous.my husband and i literally have to sit forward and look underneath a little spacing left between the dashboard and the window shield. I would also like to add that the rear trunk button has also melted.

I recently read about the issue with the lexus is model being given a technical advisory for the breakdown of the dashboard and i was wondering why this problem is only addressed on the is model and not the es as well.i am an es 2007 owner who is and has been experiencing the same problem for many months now.i was told by lexus that to replace it would cost $3000 and i have already replaced the instrument panels on the steering wheel for the same problem where the rubber has broken down and disintegrated.i am angry because this is a lexus for god's sake.i recently asked my insurance company if i could claim this damage and they told me that they had heard of the same problem in 2007 toyota's and is's and that toyota issued a recall.my thing is if toyota issued a recall, then so should lexus.are we supposed to believe that they used different products when they have the same look as the ones in the toyota line of cars for that year? i am upset that my luxury care is a luxury road hazard and nobody has addressed it in the es350.starting around 2013, the rubber on the steering wheel and dash board started to disintegrate. First becoming sticky, then shedding small bits of plastic and finally becoming slick and shiny.at the time of purchase i had my vehicle aftermarket tinted all around and use sun shades religiously. I have already paid out of pocket over $900 just to have the steering wheel parts replaced with new rubber and i think that it is ridiculous that i have a lexus whose glare from the shiny dash has been causing me problems when driving at night to the point where i avoid driving at night.

The dashboard is melting and shiny very sticky.the glare from the dashboard is interfering with the driver's vision.

The dashboard of my 2007 es 350 is melting away.it has a really shiny & sticky area on the driver side which, causes a lot of glare on the windshield & making it a safety concern.also, the dashboard has areas that started cracking due, to the same issue.also, the door panels are melting as well.i try to protect the dashboard with the sunshades, but it is getting worse (each day). Please help.

Dashboard melted over time. It was out of warranty.

I purchased a certified used 2007 lexus es 350 in 2010 with approximately 26,000 miles.in 2014, i left the lexus in my florida parking lot for the summer (may-october).when i returned from new york, the entire lexus dashboard had melted!due to the melting, there is a shiny glare on the windshield which makes it hard to see.i believe this is very dangerous and there should be a recall.i paid a lot of money for this car, and this is a serious safety defect.lexus should recall these cars and fix this problem.

Dashboard sticky and shiny can barely see when it's sunny outside.

I have a complaint about my es 350 lexus 207. The dashboard is melting. I believe this is a defective problem. I am concerned about safety issues. This is my second lexus and never had a problem with the first one; (dashboard) es 300 lexus (2003). I hope there will be an investigation about this matter. Thank you

My dashboard has been melting and has caused me to be burned and causes a glaze in my window when i drive it.

Dash panel melting.

My dashboard melted which is causing windshield screen glare and obstructing vision to oncoming traffic

Dashboard began to deteriorate and become sticky and shiny, creating a visibility issue.

The dashboard on my vehicle is melting.this is causing an unsafe glare on the windshield.it is very difficult to see out the windshield due to the melting, shiny dashboard reflecting onto the windshield.the dashboard is very sticky to the touch, you can't wipe the dashboard due to the stickiness causing a rag or cloth to stick to the dash.there is currently no help available from lexus in regards to this problem.this s a vehicle defect, i have never had a vehicle do this.the only fix is to replace the dashboard.

The dashboard is very sticky to the touch. When trying to remove the stickiness with a paper towel and cleaner, the paper towel became stuck to the dashboard.at this time unable to clean the dashboard.the dashboard is creating a glare on the front window making it difficult to see at times.the black rubber exterior trunk release button melted.i went to open the trunk and had difficulty getting the trunk to open.when i bent down to see what was wrong with the button, it was totally melted and smeared across the bottom.i had black residue on my fingers when i touched what was left of the button.i reported both incidents to my service manager in june 2014 when i took my lexus in for an oil change.i was told that the trunk button would be over $300 and the dashboard was not covered.

My dashboard is melting and is sticking to touch and depresses when touched and not safe. I called lexus and i was told it's beyond the recall window and i have to pay out of pocketand i cannot afford it. Apparently there was a recall back in 2016 but i bought my car 12/2017 so i missed the window

I have lexus es350. Its expensive luxury car. But its dashboard is melting on the top now. Very uncommon behavior of this kind of car. This wouldn't happened even if in cheap car. I went to dealership and they confirm that it is melting. It's a dashboard, one of the main part of the car. Issue is in the sun, melted part is reflecting on the windshield and its very bright. It becomes safety issue to drive this car in the sun. It gives headache and not proper visibility to drive. Dealership refused to fix this issue as this car is more than 10 years old. This kind of issue should not happened in the car like lexus. Please see attached pictures, it gives some idea like how it looks like in windshield while driving. Picture do not cover all reflections though.

I inherited this vehicle in january of 2014 and as soon as i got it i noticed that there were chips of the front dashboard that were missing.i had noticed said damage/defect when i drove in prior years dating back to 2010 or so.whenever the car is out in the sun, the dashboard gets soft and if you touch or hit it with your finger, you can get some of the soft dashboard under you nail.it gets very soft to the touch.in order to avoid any further damage, i now park my car under shade and use protective visors on the inside of the front windshields in order to protect the dashboard.i was surprised to find this could happen to such a nice and expensive car.it definitely is a flaw in the design material of the dashboard.

Was in car crash where the air bags should have been ejected and they did not!

While we driving down the turnpike heading into philadelphia, my wife tried to roll down her windows and then back up. As she did, the glass came off its track and almost popped out of the door. We were going about 70 mph. At this speed, that window may have come off and flown off our car, hitting another car. This would have been potentially fatal. The only reason it did not fly off, was my wife grabbed on to it while i pulled over immediately.

Purchased 2007 lexus es350 and dash is melting with heat and humidity. Lexus dealership referred me to corporate and they said the warranty expired may 31, 2017 however, there was no recall letter received. Lexus is aware of issue but refuses to replace dash or repair. This is a safety issue due to glare from dash melting and sticky because of shine. Additionally, in the future, the dash cannot be removed because it will crumble to perform any repairs necessitating removal of dash and no shops want that responsibility. Lexus replaced a complete dash for a crack on my 2004 lexus without it being a safety issue but won't do anything about the glare coming from the dash melting! the vehicle only has 70,000 miles and is always garaged! there have been lawsuits filed over this issue!

The contact owns a 2007 lexus es. The contact stated that while parked, the dashboard became extremely hot and caused a glare on the windshield, obstructing the contact's visibility. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

My dashboard is melting!

Plastic interior body parts, in particular the dash board, have lost their hardness and have become sticky.everything (dirt, hair, paper, etc.) sticks to them and they are uncleanable.

2007 lexus es350 dashboard melting produces chemical fumes and shiny sticky dasboard reflecting sunlight and night headlights blinding driver visibility.fumes causing health issue in all car passenger breathing. Issues.

It isn't bad enough that toyota corp sold me a dashboard on my 2007 lexus es350 that melts in the sunlight, but as it melts it leaves a dangerous shiny residue that impairs my ability to drive safely, especially at night. This needs to be recalled.

Wife was operating the driver window in our lexus es 350. The driver window crashed down into the driver door panel momentarily startling her. She swerved into oncoming traffic. I had a technician pull off the door panel and the plastic mounting tabs on the window regulator and the plastic mounting tabs on the window had disintegrated. According to the lexus owners web site this is a common problem on all 2007-2008 lexus es 350 models. Lexus will not cover this problem unless still under the 4 year warranty. See recall 08v16200 for similar problems.

My car has a melting dash that leaves a sticky residue on my windshield affecting my ability to see the road. It also causes a glare when driving in the early morning or at night with street lights.

The dash in my vehicle is becoming excessively shined and sticky due to the fact that it is melting because of poor manufacturing, not age or neglect. When it is sunny outside the reflection off the dash is almost blinding for makes it unsafe to drive. Lexus has acknowledged the problem but refuses to pay for it because they're warranty extension for the dash is over.

The button on the deck lid to open had become very sticky as if melted also the steering wheel has the same problem.it is as if the coating on both has become like putty.

Consumer believes that the unintended acceleration is caused by an electrical problem. *nj

Front passenger side window came off track while driving---window was not being opened or closed/there was a loud sound & when i pulled over window was off track/took vehicle to dealer (non lexus) where i purchased car & was told a click that is on window broke & entire window needs replacing/i searched the web & discovered other owners have had the same problem

I bought a lexus es 350 2007 on october 11th 2019 a few days later i noticed it was a big glare in the window from the dashboard i thought it was all you on there i tried to wipe and there was a sticky residue i went back to the dealership and they told me it was no big deal nothing they can do about it but it gives me a burning eye feeling anti-glare is blinding eyewear glasses and i think it's a danger data dashboard is seeping some type of sticky substance that could be toxic

On friday sept 16, , 2016 the lexus was being parked ( by sally my wife who has been driving this car for many years) on the driveway of my home on 198 compton ave edison , the brakes became hard and car kept moving crashed the garage door and a second car car parked inside the garageboth driver airbags deployed , she was fortunate that the accident was not fatal; the brakes and discs were new and done 2 months ago;

Two years ago i noticed my dashboard getting sticky , and now it's getting worse and worse, because when the sun or shine i can see with the gler..

Takata recall

The dash is melting and is super sticky and shiny

The dashboard and door panels are melting. Top of dashboard is so shiny it causes visual disturbance.was advised months ago by lexus that recall is impending

2007 lexus es350 dashboard melting produces chemical fumes and shiny sticky dasboard reflecting sunlight and night headlights blinding driver visibility.fumes causing health issue in all car passenger breathing. Issues.

The dashboard is completely cracked. It looks like a broken glass pane.

Melting dashboard emitting out poisonous smell, cause my throats uncomfortable and coughing. My kid complains about there is always smell in my car and felt dizzy and headache whenever sitting in. Need to evaluate the chemical released and its impact to health.

Shaking when braking

My dashboard is melting and is sticking to touch and depresses when touched and not safe. I called lexus and i was told it's beyond the recall window and i have to pay out of pocketand i cannot afford it. Apparently there was a recall back in 2016 but i bought my car 12/2017 so i missed the window

This complaint is not about the vehicle but about the process that lexus has regarding safety recalls.this recall was during 2009.i read about it in the newspaper, called lexus and was told it did not pertain to me.many months later i received the recall letter saying my vehicle is affected, and this concerned me about lexus' records and recall system.i had my vehicle corrected.approx six months later, and again about a year afterwards, i received a similar recall letters saying lexus' records reflect i need to have this safety condition corrected.when i called both times, they verified that i had already done this correction.when i questioned them, they said to just "ignore the letter and throw it away".i question the accuracy and the whole records keeping system by lexus, and respectfully request that their system be officially reviewed.recalls pertain to safety and i don't feel lexus has a good handle on this.

Dashboard is melting, very severe. Not only a visibility issue with the glare but it is now dripping into the start engine button which could lead to electrical problems and become even more of a safety issue. Lexus dealer said he would submit pictures and get back with me. It has been about 10 days and no word yet.

I am having issues with visibility since i have a sticky, cracked dashboard, and it's peeling off bit by bit. I have called lexus corporate multiple times and they said they couldn't do anything. I would have to pay out of pocket or buy a cover which quite frankly it looks ugly on a luxury sedan. When i bought the car i thought it was a cosmetic issue, but it has gotten worse especially on hot weather like the state of oklahoma. It is really concerning as i almost hit a pedestrian when the sun was glaring over my front windshield. I am actually terrified of leaving my home on sunny days as i might get in an accident because of the glare. Few years ago, lexus offered to replace under warranty, but it wasn't a recall and the owner didn't have it fixed. Back then the car had an extended warranty from the dealer (eskridge lexus okc). The grace period for the replacement is over.the car has been well taken care of and good service record. I have no proof of what i'm going to say next, but i fear that since the dashboard is sticky and cracked and peeling off, the airbags might not properly deploy in case of an accident.

The dashboard is melting cracking and coming apart, we noticed the problem in july, august 2017, did not know it was known problem to lexus. In december 2017 i goggled how to repair melting dash and found out this was a problem that lexus was aware of, we bought the lexus es350 new in 2007 and are original owners, lexus notified us about the air bag recall but never notified us about the melting dash problem. They replaced the air bags in 2017 when the dash was melting and did not say anything. Now when i called them they said sorry, the warranty period ended may 31 2017. They need to replace owner dash board now

For the past 3 years, my vehicle's dashboard has been melting, causing a sticky, shiny film on the dashboard. This defect is a major hazard as it creates a reflection from the dashboard, not allowing me to properly have a clear view while operating my vehicle. The defect limits me from taking long trips on the road, as i am afraid that i will not be able to see due to the reflection in my eyes.

Lexus issued a tech bulletin in 2011 stating that there was a safety issue with the dashboards melting and the glare from the sun was blinding drivers.told dealers to replace them when asked.extended the campaign thru 5/2017, but did not inform customers.campaign expired with a lot of defective and dangerous dashboards still out there.the smell is also makingpeople sick.lexus will not replace my dashboard.

I own a 2007 lexus es 350. I own the car since 2010.the dashboard of the car is melted and cracked. I contacted a local dealer and was to told to contact the headquarter. I called the headquarter (800) 255-3987 and was told that they can not help me.headquarter says it is known issue but the warranty ended in may 2017.they says a letter regarding the issue was sent out.i never received that letter.they now have another warranty coverage but it covers from year 2018 and the warranty expires this march 2021.i called the lexus headquarter but they can not help me because of the model year.there is a big glare from the melted dash and it appears to be a safety hazard since the dash is cracked.would it be possible to check with the company if this could be replaced.i have submitted a claim to the office of attorney general on 2/10/21 file#11044300.ocp and i was notified to contact your office. Thank you

While sitting at stop light heard grinding noise and upon turning at traffic light steam like smoke left hood. As i pulled over it looked to be engine coolant.

My dashboard is so shinny i have to get off the interstate if the sun is facing me. My local atlanta dealership informed me about my passenger side air bad recall ......but did not inform me about the dash recall. I felt betrayed and called lexus corporate with no results. Why is not a system on placer to notify owners when a recall is issued by corporate instead of the local dealership? my local dealership is hennessy lexus of atlanta.

When you drive it speeds up very fast then it goes back down then it startles when you try to put your foot on the gas then once you take your foot off the gas it goes back to normal speed it's like it gets stuck but then once you release it goes and sometimes you can't go above the speed

I was in my car, motor running, facing traffic ,stopped at edge of driveway, with foot on brake, waiting for traffic to clear.suddenly car started to accelerate. I reflexibly pressed on brake with maximum force. Car continued very slowly. I pulled out of gear to neutral which stopped car. Car traveled no more then 1 car length to stop next to curb. After a pause, i proceeded to drive to stops over 4 hours, i then drove home. The next morning i called and left message with nhtsa and the car manufacturer.the latter has had a dealer inspect and found no problem. I requested another dealer opinion. Manufacturer offers $500 for another inspection but denys any support for cost of solution. Can nhtsa review this situation for manufacturer's need to recall? this same car and model had accelerator problems in 2007 resuilting in several fatalities.

Check engine and vsc lights were displayed at 54,000 miles. Error codes indicated ignition coil. This issues has been reported multiple times for the 07 es 350 and 08 gs. This is a clear defect and it should be replaced via a recall.

While parked, i let the front passenger window down. When letting the window up i heard a loud pop and the window tipped down in the front leaving a large gap. I was able to get it back in place manually. Took it to the lexus dealership for service. Was told one of the plastic clips on the glass had broken and the window would have to be replaced. The warranty had expired so the total cost including the window tint was $646.67. I was told this is a recurring problem. I read if taken to a glass repair shop, there is a permanent fix.

My dashboard is melting. There was a customer support program that expired in 2017. I never received any information about taking my car in for a dashboard replacement. When it's hot outside the glare is so intense that i am not able to drive the car because i am afraid of having an accident. I am not able to clean the dashboard. It has so much debris on it that can't be removed.

The plastic clips that attach the driver's side window broke, causing the window to jump out of the track. There are hundreds of complaints on lexus owner forums in regards to this issue with 2007-2008 es350 models. Lexus even realizes there is an issue because they put out a safety bulletin (l-sb-0003-09) about this problem. The manufacturer is forcing the consumer to purchase an entire new window in order to fix their faulty design. We are very fortunate that this issue did not occur while driving down the highway or an accident may have occurred. I would a company who's slogan is "the pursuit of perfection" to stand up and admit that they have an issue.

While we were driving our 2007 es350 in a high way in december 2011, the passenger-side front window glass suddenly fell off from the track, and we should have stopped the car right away. After replacing it with a "newly-designed" oem glass in a toyota dealer service dept (it was out of warranty, so we paid $600 for the replacement), the driver-side front window glass also fell off in february 2012, and we couldn't drive the car until the glass was replaced in the same dept. Once one (or both) of the front window glasses falls off, it is very dangerous to drive the car in a high speed. And, we believe the original window-glass design has a defect and that is why lexus re-designed the glass (please look at the tsb below). I don't understand why lexus doesn't recall it for the driving safety. The driver seat window glass just went down when my wife was driving on a freeway in freezing winter weather, the window glass would not go up and she could pull it up also because the window glass went inside the door completely.she was in a remote area and had to drive many miles with open front window with below freezing temperature to find a nearest lexus dealer she also had two kids in the car to make situation still worse.the lexus dealer said the window regulator and window glass needs to be replaced because the plastic clip holding the window glass to the regulator had broken. Dealer said he has to order the parts for it and gave a quote of $800.worst part is the dealer pulled the window glass up and put some tape to hold it temporarily and charged $100 dollars for it.i cannot believe luxury car like lexus will have such faulty parts installed when i googled this issue i saw many people complaining on same exact issue we faced, this window glass and parts should be re-called and replaced for free by lexus because it can be safety issue if this happens in freezing winter weather.
