Power steering pump failed a few month ago and the warranty company replaced it in may 07 w/a generic pump. 2 weeks later it failed again, but this time ruined the reservoir and radiator, so those items had to be replaced as well. The dealer replaced w/ a lr pspump, but it failed. So they replaced it with another, but it failed one week later. The warranty company approved an engine replacement, which was completed. I had the car one day and it was returned to lr b/c it was making a horrible noise. Lr replaced the rack and pinion steering. I drove the car for one week and the power steering pump failed while i was driving and i could not steer the vehicle. Lr towed the car and replaced the ps pump again. I just picked it up yesterday.

While driving on the freeway @ about 65 mph a loud screeching noise just came out of no where then thevehicle would not accelerate whenputting your foot on the gas & when i tried to accelerate it was accompanied by more loud grinding noises! we were almost killed on the freeway because we were in the fast lane & the car locked up!!! i had to have it towed home @ a cost of $300.there was an investigation opened for her problem action # ea0712 for component power train:driveline:differential unit, power train:axle assembly:axle shaft, power train:driveline:driveshaft. Prior to this i have had no problems or any signs of any problem with my 2004 range rover hse. I called range rover today (monday 11/26/07) @ 1-800-637-6837 and was rudely advised by the rep. That she wasn't a auto mechanic & that i would have to deal with it with my local dealership. I can't imagine this just being a normal routine problem in owning this car & would like a answer. I love my rover but can't afford to have this happen!

2-9-05-driving on the highway.veichle shut down on motorway, vehicle making loud grinding noise will not move in any gear.had to wait to be towed back to dealership. It was a faulty front fif assemby.replace front fiff and align. Replace drive shaft.8-23-07-driving on a highway.veicle making grinding noise while on the highway. Had to pull over the car would not accelerate. Car was towed into shop after 4 hours of waiting on the highway and being towed. Front diff and drive shaft splines stripped. Replced front diff and driveshaft

While driving on a busy interstate highway, the vehicle completely lost all propulsion.after navigating across multiple lanes of moderately heavy traffic with no power, i came to a stop on the side of the road and called for assistance.once the vehicle was towed to the closest land rover dealer and the problem diagnosed, it was explained to me that the front differential had failed.i've since researched this issue and found that many other owners have experienced this problem and land rover has even issued technical bulletins regarding this repeated failure. Despite that, i had never been made aware of this issue by the manufacturer despite that fact that it has been in their service department at every scheduled maintenance interval and on many other occasions for other work.in fact, it was in their shop approximately 2,000 miles prior to this failure for a number of other warranty related items and this failing mechanism was not detected/fixed despite the fact that it was likely close to failure at that point and detection of the problem is possible via nothing more than a glance at the point where the shaft and differential housing meet.i'm happy no one was injured but very disappointed this failure occurred, especially considering that it occurred 1,000 miles after the oem warranty on the vehicle expired which now makes this a financial concern for me as well.

I always had a problem with transmission which was replaced once 2 year ago and now i need to do out of my pocket all over again.

While driving on highways and inclines i noticed my truck engine slipping and losing speed...when the decent indicator light came on, i looked into the manual only to find that the manual shows that particular control - but states nothing about the transmission- it says my problem is the brakes. I took my truck to the brake shop and yes my brakes were in need of its set of2nd rotors. So i had that fixed. On my way to work a few nights afterwards, i was driving up a hill when my truck died. Transmission dead.my 2002 land rover freelander's has only 69,000 mileson it. It is in need of rotors, a back window regulator and a transmission. I have already had overheating problems over and over again. This truck has been in the shop more than i have driven it. Headlight issues, brakes, water pump, temp gauge, engine problems, radiator and a few recalls. : (.

While driving on i-69n at 70 mph, the top half of our landrover car top carrier (top box s class tour monacar) came off and fell into the oncoming traffic along with most of items packed in the carrier, including golf clubs, tennis rackets, fishing poles, a duffel bag packed with clothing and miscellaneous items.when we retrieved the top half of the car top carrier, it was determined that the top portion of the carrier had sheared off below the locking mechanism, despite the fact that the latch was secured tightly and that the lock had been activated. Despite heavy traffic volume due to it being a holiday weekend, there were no injuries or accidents. There was significant damage to the items in the car, our car and, of course, the carrier.

After 23,000 miles, brakes need to be replaced.

Fuel leaks when tank is filled to approximately 7/8 capacity. Noticeable fuel smell and possible leak when filled to 3/4 capacity.

After 23,000 miles, brakes need to be replaced.

While traveling at any speedvehicle would vibrate and bump up and down intermittently. Also, brakes would make a squeaking and grindingnoise. Dealership was aware ofproblem.

Steering becomes soft/unresponsive, causing wheel to shake around turns at speeds 45-60 mph, resulting in vehicle bouncing/not stopping.

While drivng around a corner the driver lost steering control and hit a utility pole.it was found that the steering linkage came apart because of rusting.the problem has not been corrected.

Car had 'comprehensive' 65000mi checj up at princeton land rover in princeton n.j. On 7/10/00 . On 8/10/00 while en route, suddenly lost steering and crashed into a pole. Upon examination at local service station cause of failure found to be disconnect of ball and socket joint connecting front steering pin and drive shaft. Disconnect due to excessive corrosion of the ball portion of the joint. I am in possesion of corroded joint in question.

2006 range rover sport suspension failure: : suspension fault light displays after suspension raise 6 inches when driving at 70 mph.

While driving south on i-91 at 55mph in springfield, ma on a clear day with dry pavement the car pulled to the left, i corrected to the right but the steering felt as if something had "snapped".the car then began to drift to the right, i had no steering response.i slowed since i had taken my foot off the accelator.i entered the breakdown lane and struck a concrete barrier at 40mph with the right front of the car.we came to a stop.all three people were wearing safety belts.i had a minor concussion and my daughter (in the right front passanger seat) had a sore neck and lower back pain.my son, in the back seat, had no injuries.the car was towed to robinson service where it was immediately noted that the pitman arm ball joint had fallen off.mr. Robinson told us of up to 6 other 1993, 1994 range rovers (that he had seen since 11/00) that had similar failures.it was only luck (light traffic, dry payment) that i or my two children were not more seriously hurt or killed.other cars could have easily become involved in the accident.mr. Robinson has checked with range rover and as of today no recalls have been issued on this problem.i hope that range rover will issue a recall in order to save others from harm or death.please contact mr. Robinson for details on the other range rovers he has seen with similar failures.y
