My land rover evoque was running in my driveway in the park position (warming up).i stepped out of the vehicle to grab something from my house and within minutes i heard a bang, the car went into drive and smashed into my fence, continued to smash through the fence and landed into my pool. It stopped there and needed to be towed out.this is the second instance.the first instance happened in march 2015.my car was in park in the driveway.i started the car, ran back into my house and heard a loud bang.the car slammed into my fence but luckily a cement post stopped it.when i approached the car it was in the park gear and luckily no external damage was done.this shift gear needs to be looked at for a potential recall.

I was stopped at a stop light with my foot on the brake pedal. Suddenly the engine rpm went to wide open throttle. I mashed on the brake as hard as i could but the vehicle kept going forward. My son was in the car in front of me and even though his windows were closed as it is cold he heard the engine screaming and saw the vehicle moving forward. He moved forward so i did not hit him. I was able to put the vehicle in park and then the engine went back to idle.

Sounds like they are very aware or ltb00795nas1. A technical bulletin involving the "active on demand coupling oil pump" that just happens to mess up on specific cars from a specific plant at with no fault to the driver, yet this is not a recall?? i called lr usa and the representative said it did not meet the standards of a recall, whatever that means.
While driving my car on a road and attempting to merge onto a highway (i10) it lost the ability to accelerate. The vehicle would then not shift above 3rd gear (automatic). When i placed it manually into higher gears it tried to automatically downshift. I was unable to accelerate to merge onto the highway. I had to place on my four ways and make an emergency stop to avoid an accident causing a very unsafe driving situation. The dealership said that the turbo component had failed and needed to be replaced. After it was replaced i asked what had caused the failure and they said that nothing i did caused it. It is apparently a common issue for the turbo component to fail in the 2012-2014 models. I was not warned about this safety issue and they said it is caused by a known mechanical issue. They also said the replaced the turbo component with an alternate part number because the one originally in my vehicle fails so often they no longer use it. This occurs often enough they already had the part in stock.i think they should be forced to recall these faulty turbo parts.i have the service record if needed.
Vehicle has just over 50,000 miles , warranty expires at 50,000. Looking on the internet i found that the 2013-2015 models of this car has had hundreds of problems with the turbo which goes out before and after 50,000 mile ,most of the time land rover will not cover always blaming the consumer , i found well over a million hits on the internet concerning this problem , but land rover refuses to do a recall, car actually loses all power and stops dead anywhere when it blows , if you go on the internet you'll see a club that formed in england concerning this , there are literally thousands of complaints on the faulty turbo's on the engine on the 2013-2015 range rover evoques,.land rover n.a. Customer service actually blamed me for not doing oil changes , which i have all receipts , social media has hundreds of pages relating to the evoques turbo failures, also consumer affairs has several pages on the range rover evoques engine and turbo problems and failures ,why hasnt the u sgovermnent forced a recall on this serious safety issue, like i previously stated , this happens when i vehicle was on the interstate , i read where one girl in ohio was in the middle lane of an intersate and her car stopped dead ,almost getting rear ended , please address this issue,
Engine misfires causing car to lose power and go into 'restricted mode'.this is very dangerous.it happened at high speed, making it very unsafe to pull over to the side of the highway - almost causing a multiple vehicle accident.taken to dealer 3 times and they have not resolved the issue.informed landrover usa about my concerns and they have not been helpful - saying take the vehicle back to the dealer and pay an additional $380 for diagnostics after already paying them $200 as the car is no longer under warranty.vehicle has $59,250 miles.other evoque owners also experience similar problems.
Was driving and all of a sudden there was a loud wind sound and then all engine power was lost, it also wouldn't shift because of the loss of engine power. But i had to at least make it home and on my way home i was on the bypass and i couldn't get the car to go above 65. It was definitely struggling. I went to shop and got diagnosed and they came to the conclusion that the turbo has gone out and that has been a common problem with the evoque. So now it's a hefty repair due to faulty manufacturing of the turbocharger. I looked it up and it seems that many evoque owners have had the same issue with their turbos going out
The contact owns a 2013 land rover range rover evoque. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle made an abnormally loud sound in the engine compartment. The contact stated that the service warning message was displayed. The vehicle was diagnosed with needing the exhaust replaced however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that the vin was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000.

76k miles and turbo charger needs replaced. $3,454.00. Ridiculous. No tepair should be this much. Many online complaints at similar miles. For a 4 cylinder engine this is horrible! noticed slow acceleration when attempting to go up hills.

We were headed down a fairly steep grade that was covered in packed snow conditions, there is a button in the car that controls various terrain conditions and one of them has a snowflake on it, my wife suggested we put it in that position and i thought that would be good since it was snowing. There is also a hill decent button that controls speed going down hill that we had been using earlier on dry conditions that was engaged. As we headed down the slick grade at a crawling rate of speed the cars brakes locked down to the best of my knowledge the wheels were totally sliding the anti-lock system was making noise but we were just sliding. I had no luck turning the wheelor assisting the brakes to get the car to stop sliding, we were in no doubt headed off the road and down a mountain when i decided to step on the accelerator pedal and this unlocked the brakes so i could turn, as soon as i let off the gas it would lock back down and start sliding. There was a road just ahead of us to the right that headed up the mountain so i stepped on the gas and took it up the road to get the car to stop while we were still alive. We then looked in the owners manual and it did not mention if you put the car in snow flake mode it would lock down the wheels on steep grades. So after my wife said we are selling this piece of c--- i put the car back in regular driving mode and we headed back down the slope just using a low gear and manual braking and this would work if you did not push on the brake to hard, then it would start sliding again.so we took it to the dealer when we had a chance and they said it was fine!i still do not see any warnings about not putting the car in certain positions for various driving conditions on any buttons in the car or in the owners manual.
The contact owns a 2013 range rover evoque. Twelve months after having the rear driver side seat belt latch replaced, regular vehicle maintenance showed that the seat belt latch was not re-attached. The bolt was resting underneath the seat, which left the passengers in the rear with out seat belts. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the seat belt latch was re-attached. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 15,198.
Similar to those issues identified in open investigation ea 20-001, i was driving two boy scouts to camp when my vehicle's brakes no longer worked. The brake pedal was firm and vehicle would not slow down almost resulting in a catastrophic crash on interstate 95.was able to veer off the road into the shoulder and up a ramp with a hill to slow down to safety.vehicle is currently at dealer for diagnostics and repair.
The contact owns a 2013 range rover evoque. While driving 35 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and failed to respond. As a result, the contact crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Two months prior to the crash, the brakes failed to respond. The contact pulled over and noticed fluid coming from the front driver side wheel. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake fluid hose was damaged and needed replacement. The repairs were completed. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 52,600.
Family of four driving at highway speed of 70mph when brakes gave out.driving straight on flat highway in sunny day conditions.could not stop the car.after barely missing causing a major accident, was able to make it to the shoulder.the car is only four years old with 47k miles.vacum pump at fault.a modern 4 year old car shouldn't put peoples lives at risk for mass break system failure.we are fortunate to have avoided the accident but people could have died.i contacted range rover corporate but did not show any concern.

The contact owns a 2013 land rover range rover evoque. While driving down a hill at approximately 25 mph, the braking system malfunctioned. The contact stated that the brake pedal became very stiff when depressed and the vehicle failed to stop. The driver had to use the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer (land rover chantilly, 4120 auto park cir, chantilly, va 20151) and the brake vent booster was replaced. After retrieving the vehicle, the failure recurred while driving on a level surface. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer who replaced the brake booster and brake valves, but the failure recurred while driving in reverse on an incline. The vehicle was driven back to the dealer and the contact was informed that the vehicle was operating normally and there was no failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 56,000.

My evoque only 3 years 63,000 miles and the turbo is brocken the dealer land rover san juan puerto rico sorry no warranty for what my evoque only 3 years
Upon starting the engine in the garage with the heat system on the exhaust from the engine enters the cabin of the car with carbon monoxide fumes. Smell is sickening, poisonous, and dangerous. The cause as per my repairman: the exhaust manifold has a faulty design. The pieces are welded, the welding fails, a crack allows carbon monoxide to leak into the cabin of the vehicle. The exhaust manifold and turbo charger are one piece. Repair costs over $3000. The car has 44,000 miles on it. The newly installed exhaust manifold/turbo charger is the same design that failed, land rover hasn't made any changes. It's likely this new part will fail as well.

The front windshield is loose and leaks extreme took it to a windshield professional and said it was a manufacturer defect because they had many client with same problem.took it to dealer and also said clients with same problem. Sadly when i contacted corporate they said they couldn't help. Standing. Just bought car from individual. Foto shows plastic bag i had to put for protection. Wet all dashboard steering and leather seat.
The driver and passenger side mirrors do not unfold if you follow these steps. I have tested this on my 2013 evoque and a rental 2014 yyou will need two people to reproduce this.1) have passenger hold the key and unlock the vehicle from a distance2) driver gets in, and tries starting vehicle with the passenger in the car but the key must not be detected (i.e.: driver pushes start button while passenger is just getting in the car, subsequent attempts should result in "key not detected" even if the driver now holds the key in their hand.)3) while sitting in the car, lock the car using the keyfob.4) car should now start when you push the start button. Take note at how the driver and passenger side mirrors will not unfold even when the car is able to be driven down the road. This happened to me during the night with my black vehicle and i could not tell that the mirrors were not unfolded and it appears to the driver that they are just fine when they truly are just providing a reflection of the car, so i was not able to see any traffic using those mirrors. The simple fix is to get out of the car, lock it, unlock it, get in and start it and the mirrors will come out. I have been able to easily reproduce this, should you have any questions on reproducing it please let me know.-regards,[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
