The contact owns a 2012 land rover evoque. The contact stated that the passenger side air bag warning indicator illuminated intermittently. The dealer replaced the passenger seat air bag sensor on two separate occasions, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 14v395000 (air bags). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 17,515.
Last saturday, july 8, 2017, we are on our way to land rover dealership in paramus new jersey for our range rover evoque 2012, scheduled maintenance servicing, while drivingi just noticed that the airbag light is showing up in the control panel while the car is in motion going to the dealership. So as we get there in the dealership, i told the service guy to include the check of the airbag that illuminate in the control panel. In 2 days, we received a call from the dealership, informing us that there is a need to change the front passenger airbag sensor, that cost $1970.00. The message was so shocking, because i don't have that such amount of money.and that $1970 doesn't include yet the maintenance servicing fee of $580.00. It was so shocking, the mileage of the is in the low end of 40,000 miles, it has never had a collision or any other impact incident and why the airbag is lighting up. That high end car is brand new when i bought that on that dealership on year 2012. The service guy told us, that it is so dangerous to drive this car while the airbag light is "on". I was in a loaner car right now. Meanwhile, i told the dealership, let me think about it. So i went onlineto do a research about this situation, and i learned that the land rover lr2 and range rover evoque has a recall issue of the airbag sensor, but the vin that belongs to my car has a zero recall for this matter. Please help us, my car still look like a brand new and it is properly and seriously maintain and why this problem occur. Fixing this issue from own pocket is so hard, i should be entitle for a no cost to fix this problem via recall. The other night i call the range rover corporate sighting a recall for this particular issue and they said my car has zero recall, please help, the fact that the airbag illuminate while the car is in motion then there is a problem of the airbag system.
2012 land rover evoque. Due to insufficient clearance. The supplemental restraint system connector located in the driver and front passenger side seat of the vehicle may become disconnected. *taaccording to the invoice, the technician found the sensor had shorted out. The passenger occupancy sensor was replaced.
The interior lights consistently switch on and off while driving. Purchased the vehicle january 2015. Brought the vehicle to the land rover dealership 3 times in the past year and a half and was continuously told the technician cannot replicate the issue. I even went so far is to record the lights switching in and off on my cellphone while the vehicle was in motion.
Title: sudden lost of traction at rear axle at high way speed.vehicle mileage: 40,000; age: 5 years; awd model with rear electrical differential power coupling (haldex gen 4 )description: vehicle was driving at highway speed, dashboard shown message: "transmission fault traction reduced". The rear axle was found to be disconnected from drivetrain and will not reconnect under slippery condition.root cause: rear electrical differential (haldex gen 4) use pnuematic controlled clutches to connect/disconnect rear axle to transmission for torque coupling. The clutch relies on pnuematic pump (land rover part number lr075763) to provide pressure for coupling. The pump use brushed dc motor. Overtime, clutch material dissolve into differential fluid and clogs up filter of the pnuematic line, causing pump running at high duty cycle. The motor failed due to excessive heat and brushes disconnect from motor winding. Causing pump to fail.for reference, volvo and othe vehicle manufacturer who use similar differential unit (haldex gen 4) requires servicing of the differential to prevent such failure. Land rover does not such procedure.land rover has tsb that describes such failure and mentioned the pump will need to change. Https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2015/sb-10074556-2280.pdf
While driving in rainy weather for approximately one hour, i went to accelerate to pass a car and there was a loss of power, amber waning light came on, engine light came on and i could not go faster than 35 mph. This could have caused a serious accident but i was able to slow down enough to get back in the slow lane. Car had to be towed to dealer the next day. The loner evoque they gave me did the same thing in rainy weather on september 16, 2012.
The contact owns a 2012 land rover range rover evoque. While driving various speeds, the engine seized intermittently and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to jaguar land rover austin (1515 w 5th st, austin, tx 78703, (888) 450-9149) where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 60,000.
On july 28, 2012 my mother and i were driving to new england from maryland through intermittent thunderstorms at speeds above 65 miles per hour.i attempted to accelerate to pass a vehicle when the engine began to lose power and took over 30 seconds to reach 40 miles per hour.i observed the speed warning light and the amber ?check engine? light come on.i tried to accelerate to pull off of the road but could only drive approximately 35-40 miles per hour until the next exit which was over 2 miles ahead (as cars unsafely had to suddenly stop behind me on i-95 as i maneuvered back into the right travel lane) since the vehicle would not go any faster.once off of the road (the rain had ceased) i turned off the vehicle and removed the 74 mile an hour speed warning and the amber ?check engine? lamp went off after ten minutes of driving.i resumed my trip through the on-and-off-again rain for another three hours and did not attempt to accelerate again. I later told my husband that i thought that the sudden slow engine acceleration and speed impediment was a function of the speed warning and assumed that to be the cause of the lack of speed and ability to accelerate.needless to say this was a frightening experience for me and my mother.on august 25th my husband and i were driving for over an hour in heavy rain and it happened again. Unlike myexperience, a warning message that said ?restricted performance? came up on the dashboard and the amber check engine light was on (there was also an amber hazard signal on the dashboard).when we pulled over, we looked in the owner?s manual under the following words: ?performance, engine, and warnings, to find the restricted performance warning and what it meantto no avail.the rain continued on this evening and we drove (slowly) home for the remaining 20 minutes while the check engine light remained red.
Experiencing exhaust fumes in the cabin. Dealer checked and found cracked exhaust manifold - less than 72,000 miles on vehicle. Found similar issue on evoque forums. Dealer indicates there is no recall on this issue. Attached dealer diagnostic receipt. I feel this is a safety issue with carbon monoxide being funneled into the vehicle by a failed part, a part that should not be failing, at least, not cracking.
I was driving vehicle at about 65-70 mph on freeway for about one hour. Exited freeway, stopped at traffic light. When leaving light, accelerated normal & instantly noticed there was very poor acceleration. The engine service light displayed & vehicle would not go over 35mph. I then pulled into parking lot, turned car off for 2 minutes, restarted & no change in problem. Took car to dealership where i purchased & vehicle was fixed at no charge.
Experiencing exhaust fumes in the cabin.failed state inspection after mechanic checked and found cracked exhaust manifold - less than 60,000 miles on vehicle. Found similar issue on evoque forums. Dealer indicates there is no recall on this issue. This is definitely a safety issue with carbon monoxide being funneled into the vehicle by a failed part, a part that should not be failing, at least, not cracking.i was wondering why i felt sick, sleepy, and suffered headaches and vomiting. There were no warning indicators illuminated.the mechanic stated that the fumes filled his garage and he had to work on the vehicle outside of garage in theparking lot.this should definitely be reason for a recall for a vehicle with low mileage and can cause death if vehicle is running inside the garage.there are numerous complaints filed about this dangerous issue.
I took my car in to the land rover service dept where i purchased my vehicle because i smelled exhaust through the vents and i was getting headaches every time i drove. On my first visit they told me they could not find anything wrong. After a month of continued exhaust issues i took it to a different land rover service dept and they eventually found a hairline fracture in the turbo. They quoted me $6,500 for the repair and advised me that it was not covered by warranty. They told me to simply run my air/heater on manual versus automatic and drive with a window cracked. I am currently trying to find someone that will work on my evoque that could possibly weld the fracture rather than replacing the entire system but having difficulty.
I stopped at a red light, when light turned green, i pressed the accelerator, however the car would only roll not accelerate, engine had no response whatsoever, in some cases the rev actually dropped instead of going up, which was bizzare. After pressing the accelerator for about 5 seconds the car will suddenly accelerate to 3000 rpm and over and take off, then when i stop again, same thing happens. It kept on recurring everytime i stop. Uphill was even more difficult to get the car going. However, i did get it fixed by updating the engine software at the dealer. There should be an announced recall for this problem, it is scary.
The contact owns a 2012 land rover range rover evoque. While driving for an extended period of time, the contact felt sick, sleepy, and suffered headaches and vomiting. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact's son noticed an abnormal odor in the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer (land rover hinsdale, 300 e ogden ave, hinsdale, il, 301-521-3426) where it was diagnosed that there was a crack in the turbo manifold that needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact went to the hospital and found carbon monoxide in her bloodstream. The manufacturer was made ware of the failure and informed the contact that her warranties had expired. No further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 49,000.

While driving, vehicle looses power. This is an intermittent problem and can not be predicted. No signs or signals that there is a problem before car stalls. Very scary and dangerous situation. Almost got struck from behind. Pulled over, turned vehicle off, then back on and restarted and drove with no issues. This has happened numerous times. Usually happens after deescalation of speed, like exiting expressway but has happened while driving on a city street. Took vehicle to land rover and was told if there weren't any messages displayed, there was nothing wrong.

Driving on the main hwy when i noticed that a indicated light appeared on the dashboard "transmission fault traction reduced".the car didn't handle any different so i immediately contacted the dealer via phone. Spoke to the service adviser who stated to pull off the road, turn off the motor and after a few mins restart it and that should clear the fault.if not, just make an appt for service.unfortunately the problem was not cleared using the above restarting procedure.upon arriving at the dealership for the next available appt 5 days later, the battery was supposedly dead and needs to be replaced according to them because they could not start the vehicle. Which is strange since prior to that i had no warning lights of any battery problems come on.a day later, the adviser called me again and stated that not only did i have a dead battery but the power pump differential to the transmission was found to be faulty and would be replaced.this is a 3yr old car with less than 32k miles on it with mostly hwy driving.
Driver seat seat belt releases spontaneously about 5-10% of time even if i latch and tug on it to test latch.
On march 24, 2018 at approximately 11:30 am i was traveling on the highway (florida turnpike north) at around 70 mph with my wife and child, and suddenly the brakes stopped responding on my land rover evoque.the brake pedal was hard and could not be pressed, it would not respond.we were able to lose speed, merge to the right of the highway, and come to a stop on the shoulder. Neither before, during nor after the event, had any warning lights showing on the vehicle's dashboard. We called our dealer and they suggested to have the suv towed to the nearest dealer.we had the suv towed with aaa to the dealer.the dealer's manager did not seem worried or shocked at the terrifying event my family and i had just experienced.in fact, he did not even offer an apology.did not provide a loaner or rental vehicle.vehicle was left for the service department to look at on monday.my father had to drive 211 miles to pick us up from the dealer and drive us back.monday the analysis came back as a text that read: 'the vacuum pump seized up and broke one of the intake camshafts.to fix this we have to remove the top part of the engine and replace all pump, camshaft, timing guide and tensioner and all the one time use gaskets and seals.this is a lengthy job. To do these repairs would be $5,532.10+tax.'(attached is the emailed quote we requested)we have photos, videos, emails, documents, and text messages evidence of the previously discussed.
The contact owns a 2012 land rover range rover evoque. While making a left turn and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle did not stop and crashed into a garage door at a very slow rate of speed. No injuries were reported. The cause of the failure was not determined. Jake kaplan's land rover (1346 bald hill rd, warwick, ri) and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,300. *dt*as

I was on my way to camden aquarium it is 75 min away from my house after driving 55 min just about to pass nj tp exit 4 toll booth the brakes locked up on me i was unable to brake i had my wife and 2 kids in car it was life threatening situation i put the shift it in neutral and was able to pull over in shoulder lane luckily and parked it was shocking i towed the car to service center and was told after diagnostics that vacuum part of the break malfunctioned and it is very expensive to fit it
While driving on the freeway at about 80 mph, the vehicle's brake malfunctioned and i couldn't press the brake pedal; it would not even go down. There were 2 cars driving ahead of me on the left lane, therefore, i tried to pass to the right lane by checking whether there was any space because there were 2 trucks behind on the right 2 lanes. Luckily, i could pass to the right lanes and finally to the shoulder to try to slow down. Then, i drove the car to a nearby roadhouse area and i stopped the car there by handbrake. This was really unbelievable and terrifying. Then, the vehicle was carried by a tow truck back to ankara, and the car mechanic checked the car, where they determined that a part inside the brake vacuum motor was totally broken, and that could have created a fatal accident,
I have taken my car back to theland rover dealer as always. Again the steering of this automobile is having a crackling sound when turned. The crackling sound is in both directions when you turn the steering. The sound is audible (capable of being heard) when the car is in a static position or at very slow speed and the steering is turned in either direction. The car has been at the land rover dealer more than seven times. And they still can not fix it.
I have purchased a brand new 2012 land rover, range rover evoque on september 25, 2012. When i get home with my new car i realized that the entertainment system doesn't work and there was a problem with the suspension system(the dealer told me this). When i was applying the accelerator i hear noise from the car and also when i make turns. It is a brand new car with only 41 miles when i brought it. I have only drove it for hundred something miles and haven't fill the gas tank yet. There were a lots of problem with this car. I can't believe it.
