I have experienced a remote key failure issue with my land rover that appears to be a result from wiring corrosion (front passenger panel). This corrosion causes the wiring harnesses to become damagedand wiring breaks and exposed to bare metal and could potentially cause fire. This is caused by the drain tubes manufacturing.
I was pulling into a staples store parking space and went to stop.the lr3 accelerated as i was braking and the powerful engine revved & wanted to keep driving the lr3 forward.i kept my foot on the brake and immediateley shifted the lr3 into park; shifted back & forth before the lr3 stopped idle.luckily there were no people or cars directly in front of me, but i did go across the lane and nearly hit a parked car.i am so concerned that i drove directly to the library; talked to a friend who said it sounded like "sudden acceleration", so i googled "2007 lr3 sudden accleration"; this issue is on land rover forums, but there is no consistant definitive cause/solution to the issue. Filing a complaint with nhtsa and calling the mechanic tomorrow.
Unusual differential wear.my differentials fluid are replaced every 20k miles.at 60k mile use, they are now failed (again, 1st replacement at 40k miles.)
Front differential seized while driving on i-70.failure occurred seconds before vehicle became immobile.car was left stranded partially obstructing right lane on interstate near a blind curve.
The front and rear drivetrain failed and landrover will not cover the fault due to the fact the warranty just ran out two months ago? i believe the drive train does not just fail overnight?
My front differential was replaced under warranty at approximately 35k.the rear differential is now failing at approximately 42k and the dealer won't warranty it since it was reported 3 months after the warranty expired.the air suspension is also failing and will need repair.
Front differential bearing failed at 51500.vehicle was brought into land rover dealer at approximately 48000 miles while still under warranty for a noise coming from the front of the vehicle and the dealer failed to diagnose it at this point.the noise rapidly became louder and the dealer finally diagnosed it 1500 miles out of warranty and refused to cover under warranty.

The brakes on my 2007 land rover lr3 discovery series iii began squeaking at 20,000 miles and by 25,000 miles i was told by the land rover service department that the brake pads and rotors (the entirety of the brakes besides the brake lines) needed to be replaced. He said it is a dangerous situation but when i asked if land rover will pay he said no. Please investigate this if it is within your power.
