This incident occurred on a sonic lite vms 167 travel trailer.while filling the fresh water holding tank (vehicle was stationary at park dump station) while leaving a campground preparing to travel to the next campground, one end ofthe tank fell from the undercarriage of the trailer to the pavement.after draining and removing the tank, it was discovered that no screws were in place to secure the tank bracesto the i-beams.although holes were tapped in both the tank bracketsand the i-beams, there was no evidence (ie: worn spots normally left by washers and bolts) that bolts or screws were ever used to secure the tank to the trailer.had this 38 gallon tank weighing +/- 1100 lbs (filled w/water) fell while on the highway, the consequences might have been devastating.
