Shortly after i took possession of this vehicle, on 3-15-14, i began to notice the traction control lights intermittently flashing on the dash panel and the vehicle began pulling to the right. This concerned me as it is an awd, and i was driving on dry pavement.i took the vehicle to the dealership and shared my concerns, they completed an alignment, they did report seeing the lights flashing on the dash but reported this was "normal" for this vehicle. Immediately following my picking the vehicle up from the dealership, it still pulled to the right and my tc lights continued to flash. I again returned to the dealership, they removed the tires, rebalanced and realigned it, which solved the "pulling" issue. However i talked at length with the service rep, about the tc lights, and i did not see how this could be "normal" for a vehicle. I was concerned that this was supposed to be a safety feature, and yet it seemed to be malfunctioning as it was trying to turn itself on during a dry take off and throttled the enginedown to the point it almost died out. The service manager kept and drove the car for 2 days stating that it did in fact come on numerous times while driving, i have been to the dealership numerous times to get this fixed to no avail. The car has barely 2000 miles on it and has spent most of the time in the shop.i don't feel safe driving itas i am afraid i will pull into traffic and get hit if the engine stalls out. I have shared my fears with the dealership and they say "there is nothing they can do for me and this is just what this vehicle does".. I am so angry about the amount of time i have spent with it in the shop, but more so don't want someone else to run into the same issue i have been having... I just don't know who to contact so i'm hoping you can help me in getting this issue notice and corrected before someone is injured.

While driving my leased 2014 kia sportage, there was nonstop continuoushesitation "bucking", with white smoke blowing out of the tailpipe, loss of speed therefore having to press hard on gas pedal to avoid accident by trying pull off road. This happens on city roads and highway.no dashboard light indicated there was a problem. The service advisor at destination kia said my model does not come with warning lights. It appears to be an oil problem. Oil level goes down with no visible signs of leaking. I only have 24,000 on my kia sportage, with one year left on my lease. I am not able to drive the vehicle as i am in fear of stalling in traffic causing myself or others to be injured.

The contact owns a 2014 kia sportage. The contact stated while driving 70 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer where it was diagnosed with the engine needing to be replaced due to metal fragments being found in the engine oil. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.

The contact owns a 2014 kia sportage. While the contact's daughter was driving 55 mph, a loud sputtering noise was heard and the oil indicator illuminated. The noise grew louder, the check engine warning indicator illuminated, and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was unable to restart and was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with metal shavings in the oil. The vehicle was repaired, but the specifics were unknown. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to have the vehicle towed to a kia dealer for further inspection. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

The vehicle seized running on the freeway tuesday march 12 and had to be towed. The engine would not turn over and subsequently was towed to two different garages and told that the engine seized and was damaged. No recall was sent from 2017 as i found out later there was one. Was driving on hwy280 when auto stopped.

There is a knocking noise coming from my engine. I also lose power when i turn corners or when i slow down and go again. The knocking noise is not very loud but i can hear with the windows down. I took the vehicle to kia and they stated they couldnt replicate the issue. The engine was replaced for the same issue last year (2019).

I was driving down a highway going 70 mph. All of a sudden my car engine starts revving high. So i start slowing down and its still revving high. So i pull over with my 2 kids in the car, and my car dies. I had my car towed 51 miles to my mechanics shop, and found out yesterday the engine is shot. I had no warning lights come on the dash, nothing wrong until it was too late. My oil was changed a month and 5 days prior to this.

The contact owns a 2014 kia sportage. The contact stated while moving from a complete stop, the vehicle loss motive power. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. Was driving on freeway and lost power car wouldn't rev past 1500 rpmsthen motor started knocking and seized. Purchased car on 11 162020 put 2000 miles on it has 122,000 miles.

Engine seized while driving on local road, approx 30 mph.luckily, i was not driving on the highway at 65mph where the car could have possibly seized.car was towed to local mechanic.after inspection by local mechanic, was told the engine was bone dry although i had an oil change 2 months prior.had the car towed to kia dealership.was told by tech that there was a flag in the system after i brought up sc147 (engine seizure recall).two weeks later, was told that the recall did not apply to my vin.i had no warning indications when engine seized.was never told the warranty was extended to 120,000 miles.i previously had an engine warning light around 108,000 miles and local mechanic told me i had low oil.i was never notified by kia regarding this service recall.now i am being told i cannot be grandfathered in to the 120,000 extended mileage (i am currently at 124,000) because my oil changes were performed outside of kia service center.flag in the system, never notified, engine seized, being told it was an internal component failure, being told not related to service recall.seems like a bunch of nonsense to me.sc147 covers sportage 11'-13' and sorento 12'-14' and optima 14'... All have same 2.4l gdi engine like mine.waiting for over an hour on the phone with kia consumer assistance for further help.

Wife was driving home from work, 45min drive. 10min left in the drive, she started hearing a noise from the engine and loss of power. Luckily she was able to coast the way home, but after 2 mechanic opinions, it is a dead engine due to the ticking/clanking noise from the engine. First mechanic said piston issue (without diagnostics), second said metal shavings and the engine basically killed itself. I made sure this car had on-time oil changes and at 116k miles was just about to do a full sparkplug/100k mileage tune-up. When will kia understand that 2011-2013 models are not the only models effected by these engine issues?! we now are down a car, still owe on it, (i believe) at no fault to our own. Kia did send out an ecu update (feb15/19) that (per a kia dealership employee) warranties the engine for the life of the engine, but what about people who have already been effected with these issues?!

On highway, route 80, engine shut down, dash board was blinking like crazy. Had to pull over to side of road. After 30 min.ā€™s got to restart the car and exit highway, at a low speed with all kinds of engine noise. Car towed to service center, and mechanic says engine failed, need to replace motor.

While driving on the highway, car began to lose power and then started cutting out. I pulled over on highway shoulder. Car was putting. I turned car off and it would not restart. I replaced battery and it still would not restart.

My dashboard 'engine' light popped on and within minutes i drove it to my local mechanic to be immediately scanned and the scan code read, #poo14 at that moment my mechanic informed me that the "theta ii" engine was in fact recalled but i was never notified ever by the dealership!!! at the time my vehicle was moving in a 35mph zone on a city street. After the scan i backed it out of the bay to park it and then the motor just "locked up & seized" i immediately called kia roadside assistance and was told they do not tow. I then called fucillo kia where i purchased it and pretty much got the typical "big dealer" run around. I then called someone with a bigger pay grade that could possibly advise me what to do here. This supervisor explained that they are not responsible to get the vehicle "in house" to fix this issue. I contacted my insurance co. But did not have towing on my policy. They were baffled that kia said it was my responsibility to get it towed to dealership! mind you that i immediately lost my part time and really cant afford a huge towing bill! it seems to me that i shouldn't have to feel that this is all my fault ! you would think thatmy 10yr/100,000mi warranty should jump on this. I presently have 64,857mi on odometer . Please inform me what to do next,

When i did an oil change on my sportage i turned on my car and it started making a loud noise and it was shaking with alot of turbulence, it was yanking and forcing itself it felt like it was going to shut down it was a scary feeling since i was driving it and all of a sudden it went to being driveable up to 20 to 15 mph. I saw there's a recall on the hyundai and kia, included are the 2013'2014 hyundai sonata and santa fe, 2011'2014kia sportage, 2011'2014 optima, and 2012'2014 sorento. During machining of the engine crankshaft and crankpins, metal shavings may have been left within the crankshaft oil passages, and the crankpins themselves may be too rough on the edges. As a result, oil may be blocked and cause the connecting rod bearings to wear, which would then cause them to fail and seize the whole engine. That, of course, would cause the car to stall during driving.

Noticed a knocking noise coming from my engine while idoling when trying to accelerate it seemed as though my car was losing power and the knocking noise was getting louderand faster. While breaking my engine would knock and my car would slightly jerk. I haven't drove my car in 4 days because it was acting this way on back roads, no way i'd trust it on a highway. Vehicle only has 90,000 miles.

This vehicke was purchased new in march of 2014.i am the originalk owner.while making an out of town trip the vehicle had a lound knocking noise and lost power.i took the vehickle to an independent garage.the infomred me that the oil pump quit functioning and that caused the motor to throw a rod.when this occured the vehicle had 86,000 miles on it.kia has a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty.additionally, i purhcased an extended warranty froim the dealership that would cover the power train for 20 years and 200,000 miles.the vehicle has been delivered to a kia delaership and so far i am hearing excuses on why they will not honor the warranty.this is despite the fact i have performed regualr oil changes with full synthetic oil since i purchased the vehicle.

Driving on highway poor gas mileage, engine speed reduced, engine started knocking. Vehicle struggled to pull itself. Very concerning driving in dallas traffic. Car is still at dealership 300 miles away two months after this incident.

I noticed a knocking noise coming from my engine while idling and when trying to accelerate the knocking noise was getting louder and faster then at first the noise stopped as you would drive past 40 mph or so and while breaking my engine would knock and my car would slightly jerk. I first noticed this early morning had to drive two hours to get home with my children then around noon the car would not drive past a half miles before dying. My car will still start up but will die if driven. This happen very sudden an unexpected as my kia is well taken care of. Please help me understand what is happening with my vehicle.

The frame nuts holding the trailer hitch pulled loose from the frame. The max weight for the hitch is 200 lbs. I use an electric schoter t get around. Their is aloft attached to the hitch. The combined weight of the scoter and lift does not exceed the 200 lbs limit. I was driving and the hitch/frame mount failed. I was traveling approx 25 mph and the mount failed dropping the lift and scooter to the city street.

My 5years daughter have her window little open when she has her finger on the window.i closed the window without noticed that she has her finger there.really hurts her and didn't get so bad because she was fasterim wondering if kia doesn't provide a safety locker for windowspleaseeeeeeeeeee

Bought vehicle from team gunther kia - daphne, al.vehicle arrived in colorado with illegally low tire tread depth and unusual rattling in the rear of vehicle which requires a heat shield replacement (i25 kia in colorado).vehicle only has 23,000 miles.one owner, clean carfax report.kia refuses to pay for heat shield replacement as vehicle ran out of warrant june of 2019 and 10 year powertrain warranty will not suffice despite incomplete sale (case number: 13917735).tires should not have been so poor (hankook) at 4/32nds and extreme tire rot with only 23,000 original miles.suspicious lack of documentation regarding odometer check that has delayed registration of vehicle in colorado.the vehicle condition upon arrival would have been an illegal sale in the state of colorado.

While parked in neutral i noticed the low tire warning light blinking. The vehicle had approximately 3000 miles on it. After checking the pressurei decided that the problem had to be a sensor. I brought it to myrtle beach kia on highway 501 in s.c. I was told that the problem was in the board not the sensor in the tires and all they could do was reset the code. The dealer manger said that they had to get permission from corporate to replace the part. I was assured that there was a record of the problem in the computer for any dealer that i choose to visit. The light stayed off for about 7000 miles. During this time i did not know if it was working properly or just going to give me a false signal. My next attempt to have the problem resolved was at danbury kia in danbury conn. To my amazement there was no record of the problem in the computer. A call to the other dealer confirmed my visit but no record of the tire sensor problem. Again they reset the code, the light is out, but that leaves me and my family without the protection that this warning system was mandated for.

My suv is 2yrs old and the compressor blew out.i have had it diagnosed by one of west side kia.i'm not understanding why kia america motors is cover up what cause this problem .

My 2014 kia sportage is dying at random times. It has done it on many occasions, while driving down the road, stopped at stop signs and stop lights, dropping my son off at school, pulling out of the store, ect. I never know when it is going to happen. It has been in the shop many times but there is nothing that can be found wrong. No check engine light or anything. I have replace the battery and spent a lot of money to try and find what is wrong but no one can seem to find a reason for this to be happening. I have two young children and can not afford a new rig or car higher car payment and i am scared to have my children in my car to go anywhere in fear my car is going to die well driving at higher speeds. I dont even chance leaving town. The steering wheel and power brake start to lock when it dies when your on the road.

I was driving on then highway and my panoramic sunroof exploded. At first, i heard a loud 'bang' and i was immediately tense...i thought i got rear ended, then maybe my tire blew out?! i proceeded to hear the tinklingand shattering of glass.i pulled over once i realized it was the sunroof.the sunroof was not open, so thankfully the glass did not fall in on me. There was no rock or any object that i could see would have caused this. I was alone. I wasn't hurt. No one stopped. I then drove it straight to the dealership. They put a cover on it and told me to call my insurance. It is currently at a body shop.

On 8/26/17 my kia was in the driveway parked the temperature outside was 69 degrees so it wasn't a hot day all of a sudden there was a loud boom, sounded like something exploded or a bomb went off there was nothing that hit the sunroof it just exploded for no reason, thank goodness i was not driving, i could have hurt someone on the road from the sound i would have panicked had i have been driving.

Mykia was parked in my driveway and on 21 june 2018 at approximately 10 pm.a loud pop like noise was heard from outside. On investigation we found hundreds of glass shardsat the back of the car where the rear glass had spontaneously shattered.

Sunroof exploded - i was travelling at approx. 60mph on a divided highway and the sunroof exploded causing small pieces of glass to fall into the vehicle.

While backing my 2014 kia sportage out of my garage, i heard a loud noise. It almost sounded like a tire blowout. Upon inspection, all 4 tires were fine. The entire front separate portion of the panoramic sunroof had exploded / shattered.

While driving on the 91 freeway on saturday feb 28th the sunroof blew out almost causing an accident - don't have any reason why this happened nothing hit the car it just simply blew out and shattered glass all over the back seats and the cars driving behind me.i almost veered into the next lane and almost caused a major collision.

My sunroof exploded. I had just entered the highway (there was no overpass near me) merging into traffic. I heard a loud pop like a gun shot and glass rained down on me. I immediately called my dealership and drove it in. There was no determination as to the cause. Dealership had to completely replace the sunroof. Had to claim on my insurance and pay the deductible - roughly total repair cost was 1200.00.
