Air bag light has gone on and stays onwhen the car is on

I have a recall letter.

The contact owns a 2007 kia sedona. While driving 65 mph, another vehicle collided with the front passenger side of the contact's son's vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. Prior to the crash, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The contact's son was able to drive the vehicle home. The vehicle was not inspected by an independent mechanic or dealer to determine the cause of the air bag failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to call a local dealer. The contact stated that an appointment was scheduled with clay cooley kia (1600 e airport fwy, irving, tx 75062 (469) 908-0002). The failure mileage was unknown.

First, the air bag light for driver stays on, then cruise control quit working, now the horn quit working. I took it to a garage and was told it was a faulty clock spring. I looked up and see that other models of kia's have been recalled for faulty clock springs; but not the sedona. I believe this model should also be recalled as it is a safety hazard not to have a working air bag and horn.i was told by two different garages that it will cost $350 to replace the clock spring.i cannot afford to fix this so i will drive with no horn or air bag. If i should be injured or die in a crash due to either of these items not working i have instructed my wife and children to sue kia for not recalling all the clock springs, when its obvious that more models have problems than what has been recalled.

The contact owns a 2007 kia sedona. The contact was driving 74 mph when another vehicle crashed into the contact. The crash caused a crack in the engine, the radiator exploded and the bumper was dislodged. The air bags did not deploy. Two passengers were injured as a result. The contact was waiting for inspection of the vehicle to determine the cause of the air bag failure. The failure and current mileages were 97,000.

A car heading in the opposite direction suddenly veered into their lane and hit them head on. My sister, her husband and his mother were all killed, three teenage daughters sitting in the back suffered broken bones but no life threatening injuries. The vehicle was a 2007 kia sedona minivan. None of the airbags deployed.

The contact owns a 2007 kia sedona.while driving 65 mph with the windows down, a bee flew into the vehicle.the contact is allergic to bees and began to panic.she lost control of the vehicle and drove down a 30 foot embankment.the vehicle was towed and labeled as destroyed.a police report was filed.the front end was completely damaged and the driver air bag never fully deployed and the passenger air bag did not deploy at all.the contact sustained injuries to her wrist, chest, and has bruises all over her body.she believes that due to the severity of the crash, the air bags should have deployed.the current and failure mileages were 11,883.updated 12/02/08.*ljupdated 12/03/08.

2007 kia sedona. Consumer writes in regards to recall concerning air bag issues *tgwthe consumer stated a little after 60,000 miles, the air bag light illuminated. The dealer informed the consumer, the problem was a sensor in the front seat and the cost to replace it would be $1600. The consumer stated his private mechanic ordered a seat that came with a sensor at a price of $585 plus tax and installing with a total cost of $700.

The contact owns a 2007 kia sedona. The contact stated that the sliding door failed to operate. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 55,000.

The contact owns a 2007 kia sedona. The contact stated that the vehicle would sporadically fail to start. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that the fuse box needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown, but the current mileage was 26,415.

The rear right door, (power operated) no longer responds to the controls.i have to pull out manually before the power will engage.it feels like it is stuck on something but there is nothing in the way.

Our 2007 low mileage kiahad been parked for over 24 hrs. While sitting in our driveway not running, no keys in ignition, caught fire and burned to the ground.the fire travelled to my storage building. We lost everything in our storage and our vehicle. Kia assumes no fault. Attached is fire department report and pics of the damage.

I have handed over my car for repairing on 09-23-2020 which is still not fixed and still lying with horne kia service centre gilbert, arizona. They have messed up my car was diagnosed twice in a gap of 2 days. Horne kia wants to cover up their technician (whom they call the best in their team) they have mess my engine and sending me a second quote to change the engine. On the first week october 2020, i drove my car for 15 miles after collecting from horne kia gilbert and experienced bunch or new problems on the road.1. The check engine light was on2. There was heavy vibration and noise inside my car3. My car would randomly halt in the middle of the road, while in drive mode.since then, my car is still lying with horne kia gilbert, arizona.i have attached all the email threads sent/received to horne kia gilbert and kia consumer asst. Center.kindly let me know if you can help me out to sort out this ongoing issue since 09-23-2020.

Brake lights not illuminating, esc light is on that it is not functioning check engine light looked up that it was a recall on 2007 kia sedona but when entering my vin # it does not show up

Occasionally, the power sliding door on the drivers side closes and then reopens about 6-12" and has to be closed by hand. There have been several times when the same door opens all the way and it can't be closed, either by power or by hand. It will remain open until it gets ready for you to close it. The time frame varies but usually 10-15 minutes. Several times, while driving with all of the doors closed and locked, the same sliding door will open a couple of inches and i have to stop and manually close it. The van has been in the shop several times and each of the described incidents still happen from time to time. The repair technicians cannot duplicate the problem so no corrective action can be taken. It's just a matter of time before someone falls out of the vehicle while it is moving and is either severely injured of killed.

Car won't start sometimes, unless you tap the fuse box under the steering column, then it starts.there seems to be an intermittent electrical connection somewhere.this is a safety hazard if you stall in traffic and can't get the car started.the problem is also reported by other owners on the internet.please require kia to do a safety recall to fix this problem before someone gets hit and killed.this problem has happened many times.thank you.[xxx], [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'

This morning my wife was riding down the road in our 2007 kia:sedona doing 55 miles an hour, when the side electric door just opened up on it's own. (it was locked.) our six year old grandson was sitting there with his seat belt on(thank god).as you can guess, it scared the hell out of him and my wife. Last year, this same thing happened a few times with the other side door. (one time, i was sitting at the door coming back from west point, ny.) as of now, kia is having problems getting parts. (it might be because of volume of problems.)they say it will take a week to get parts.(kia does not supply a free rental.)

I own a 2007 kia sedona lx. I have had it since nov if 2009. I m replacing my battery every six month due to the fact that the vehicle has a draw and has had since the day i bought it.. It was under warranty by kia and i have taken it there complaining about this problem. I was told that when they test my charging system it has the normal factory draw. I took it there again and was told it is working fine and not to return. They made me feel crazy. I have been fighting this problem for 4 years. And have been buying batteries every six months. Now that my vehicle is no longer under warranty, kia has magically found a problem with it. Upon fixing the problem, the vehicle still drains the battery dead over a period of 2 days! i have called kia headquarters in irvine california. They haven?t been helpful whatsoever. I have stopped many people that own my year of van and asked is they experience the same problem. I m surprised to find that many of them have complained about replacing batteries very often! so this is a factory issue!

Some electoral problems are happening. When driving or parked the brake lights appear in flashing manner and during that 5 second time it will lock and unlock my windows and if i am using my suppers they stop working sometimes. Also sometime the windows dont work and thebradio also messes up and changes station with out me touching it. Thisbhas been an ongoing thing for ag least 3 years. Also it use to not startvat forb2 days and then itbwoukdbstart with no help. I woukd come throuhh the pasengers side and startbit fine. Lots if electric issues.

I have a recall letter.

The brake lights remain illuminated when the brake pedal is released and the electronic stability control (esc) malfunction light is on.the brake lights remaining on caused the battery to drain.

Intermittent no start condition

When brake pedal is depressed, the brake lights stay on. Electronic stability control malfuctions. Cruise control sometimes will not deactivate when brake pedal is depressed.

Van caught on fire while driving.

While my kia sedona was parked in the driveway. Had been parked about an hour when smoke suddenly started coming from under the hood. Soon, the entire front end was on fire and local fire department came and put the fire out. Vehicle was a total loss.kia coorperate says it's not their problem.

Power doors no longer work, they do not stay latched while driving.three times the rear passenger door has come unlatched and started opening while i was driving with my kids in the back.i was able to pull over open the door all the way then re-close it.but the problem has persisted.

The contact owns a 2007 kia sedona. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 20v088000 (electrical system, service brakes, hydraulic) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Neither the manufacturer nor the dealer were made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

The contact owns a 2007 kia sedona. While driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle lost power and the accelerator pedal traveled to the floor. The esc warning indicator illuminated and remained lit. The kia dealer in cheyenne, wyoming advised the contact to bring the vehicle in for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Additionally, the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v389000 (latches/locks/linkages). The failure mileage was approximately 183,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

I have been having an intermittent "non-start" issue with my car. I would turn the key and nothing. The lights would go on, radio would go on, but the car wouldn't do anything towards cranking and starting. No clicking noise, nothing. I would get out of the car open and close some doors and most of the time it would start.also, i was driving on the highway when the esc off light came on. Whenever i stopped it would go off until i got back on the highway again. I had my mechanic plug it in to see if any error codes show, but there was nothing. I checked online and found a recall for these exact issues tied to the stop lamp switch, but when i took the car to kia dealership they said they had fixed the recall a couple years earlier. I bought a new stop lamp switch myself, (genuine kia part, not generic,) and had it replaced again. (cheap part of and installation.) i then went on road trip and nothing was fixed. Esc off light was on nearly the whole time and i had a non-start during trip.there has to be another issue involved here. I live in new york city so i hardly ever am driving on highways, so road trips was only time i would see esc off light and i rarely if ever use cruise control, so i don;t know if i would have the cruise control issue tied to this standard group of issues either.

The kia van was parked , turned off, keys were removed, outside in our business parking lot.a person driving by noticed it was on fire and called the fire department.this happened around 12 am. (midnight)the local fire department responded to the call and reported to the scene.

The car gets this random smell of burning plastic. When this happens theres s crackling sound that comes from the dash board. Also the car randomly doesnt start. The lights and radio will work but the car does nothing when you turn the keythis seems to happen mostly after the burning smell. I have replaced the battery, fuses and relay switches and nothing works. I've had it at the mechanic and they haven't been able to find the cause.it's very scary smelling burning plastic and hearing crackling while driving down the road. I'm stuck paying for a car i'm to scared to drive.

2007 kia sedona. Consumer states problem with starting vehicle *tgwthe consumer stated the vehicle had an intermittent no-crank condition.the consumer supplied a tsb regarding the issue. According to the tsb, the condition may be caused by higher than normal resistance across the burglar alarm relay located in the in panel module (ipm). Other concerns such as poor pin connections and other faulty components in the starter circuit may also cause higher than normal circuit resistance and should be considered before replacing the ipm.

I have concerns of safety concerns on seat belts and electrical wiring 1.the seat belt shoulder strap and that is it doesn't retract back to its retractable position. It seems to be seizing up. It has been lubricated a number of times but keeps returning. Lap belt was replaced under warranty and this one is doing the same thing. My concern is that if the shoulder belt does seize then how the forward forces will allow the lock mechanism to engage itself to stop your body from being exerted forward.2.the wiring i have found that one of the cigarette light power outlets has under the proper gauge of wire for the amperage that will cover the demand. One of things i have observed is that checking out the outlet the wires that power the outlet is 22 gauges which are rated for less then 1 amp draw. The cooler that i am using requires an electrical circuit 3 amps and needs to be rated for 15 amps. What has been happening is the wires behind the panels are warming up, this is the wire the manufacturer uses heats up and it could lead to a fire behind the panel.the head office of this vehicle has no information to know if there is a problem with the above concerns and feel this needs to be looked into before there is a death because these are not proper items installed.

I have read several complaints about this same thing i have experienced now on three separate occasions. I too have suddenly lost power and the esc light and check engine light comes on. The gas pedal is virtually dead, you push the pedal to the floor and all you get is about 1500 rpm and about 20 mph.if you pull over and turn the car off and re-start it, it will work. Very dangerous to be going down the road and suddenly lose power.

My car was parked in my driveway, not running, no key in the ignition, and had not been driven since the previous day. One of the kids went outside to play and came running back in to tell us the car was smoking. There was smoking coming out from under the hood. My boyfriend quickly got to it and got the battery out and found the source and unplugged the electrical stability control module ( i believe is what he called it) either way, the plug and wires were fried. The dealership stated that had we not seen this it would have caught fire. I called the kia corporate number and they told me sorry but its an out of pocket expense, my car is not under warranty and there are no recalls. This is not the first 07 kia sedona to have this issue based on the research i have done. And had we been sleeping when this happened my house could have caught fire. Had there been children in this at the time they could have been injured.

Sliding door malfunction. Had three problems with doors not completely shutting and reopening while in drive. Could be a safety issue. Consumer is updating information.*njthe consumer was informed the computer malfunctioned. The vehicle had been in the shop 4 times due to the power sliding door opening while the vehicle was in motion. The consumer stated she didn't have the ability to override the power function as she should.updated 05/13/09.

Power sliding doors, won't work, then work but won't close completely. Having issues with both sides. More the passenger side than the driver side.

The contact owns a 2007 kia sedona. The contact stated while her husband was driving with her and their daughter and grandchild in the vehicle at 25 mph, the vehicle stalled in the middle of the road. The contacts husband attempted to restart the vehicle but it would not start. The contact and her husband then got out of the vehicle and pushed the vehicle to the side of the road. When they pushed the vehicle to the side of the road. The contacts husband lifted up the front hood of the vehicle and saw a fire coming from underneath the vehicle engine. The contacts husband was able to waive down a driver who stopped and used a fire extinguisher to try to put out the fire until the fire department came to the scene and extinguished the fire fully. No one was physically injured but they did inhale a lot of smoke. A fire department report was filed. The contact and her husband, their daughter, and their grandchild went to the hospital for medical treatment for inhaling the smoke from the fire. Everyone was released with no issue. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The vehicle was not inspected, diagnosed, or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 253,000.

The drivers side automatic door doesn't open at all now when you push the button inside. It acts like it is catching on something so it doesn't open. If you pull the handle, outside, it sometimes will finish opening or closing by itself. But you have to give it that pull to get it past the catching point. You never know if it will run automatically or if you have to manually pull the door open, its like it shuts off or on.if you have to open it manually inside , you really have to push against the door hardto open it up. When you pull it manually it pulls easier, outside, than if you had the auto turned off. But we don't have the problem with it popping open while driving. Just pops out of the latch sometimes when it does auto close and it beeps and lets you know the door isn't completely closed. Just started having the passenger side starting to catch a little bit now, but it does completely run automatically once you give it a little help. Haven't taken it in because the warranty is done and cant afford to pay possibly hundreds to fix it.

While driving down the freeway at 65 mph, the driver's side sliding door opened up while my 8 month old grand-daughter was in the seat next to the opened door, thankfully secured in her car seat.i am surprised to see that no recall has been issued for this after reading so many other complaints of this exact incident!

While parked the brake tail lights stay on; while driving the cruise control malfunctions, and esc light indicator illuminates and stays on.it is the same problems as the recall nhtsa #13v114000 and the kia recall #sc098, but my vin number apparently isn't listed as one that is affected, which it is! i have noticed it a couple of months ago, but now they all are getting worse. I did not know it was a recall problem.

Consumer had problems with two leased kia sedona and with the dealership.*nj the consumer heard an awful rattle not long after having an oil change. It was discovered that there was no oil in the reservoir and oil was all over the vehicle. The consumer was able to get to a repair shop and the mechanic informed him there was no oil and the filter was not properly installed.the vehicle began to shimmy and shake. The dealer stated the problem was a defective cable, however the shimmy and shake returned.the check engine light illuminated. The consumer stated the second sedona blew a fuse within the first month. Then, two months later the vehicle would not start. The dealer replaced the battery and this vehicle also rattled.

The brake lights remain illuminated when the brake pedal is released and the electronic stability control (esc) malfunction light is on.the brake lights remaining on caused the battery to drain.

I had an issue with a dealership after service with kia i started having trouble with the locks on the passenger side doors not locking and shutting. And before i accuse someone of something that is not correct i wanted to rule out all avenues. While speaking to kia they said to contact the owner and take it up with them. But i am wanting to make sure of this i have a pre-owned vehicle. On 5/21/2016 is when i started having problems with them.

When brake pedal is depressed, the brake lights stay on. Electronic stability control malfuctions. Cruise control sometimes will not deactivate when brake pedal is depressed.

1. Driving van on highway when esc and check engine warning lights came on simultaneously.2. Vehicle suddenly loses all acceleration. Has happened twice in the past two weeks, both times at highway speeds.3. Dealership indicates that this is a chronic issue with multiple models and that replacement parts have been redesigned to reduce failure, but that issues are so prevalent that parts are on back order and that it may take "2 weeks or 2 months" to receive parts to correct the problem.

The esc light illuminated in my kia sedona for two years on and off not until recently did i realize when this happed the brake lights would not illuminate.i brought car in and was charged $250 to replace the brake light switch. I saw this was a recall on 2007 kia sedona but dealer stated it did not include my kia sedona how can the same exact thing that happened on almost 1 million kia and hyundai not be the same thing on my kia sedona. I believe my kia should have been part of the recall and i should be issued a refund for this repair.

Takata recall there is a popping sound under the van while you are driving doesnt matter what kind of road you are on unknown what part it isthe esc light keeps coming on doesnt matter what kind of road you are on and the brakes keep acting like they are going out doesnt matter what kind of road you are on

Only owner of 2007 kia sedona, i was informed by another driver while driving that my brake lights did not work. I had noticed that the "esc" light was on my dash and did not go out. I called kia motors to inform them of this after i saw online that there was a recall and they advised that my vehicle was not involved in the recall and that i needed to take it to a dealer for diagnosis. I did and it was the same faulty brake switch that was on the recall but since kia said my unit was not included in the recall i have to pay for the part and repair by the dealer. I requested reimbursement from kia motors in good faith as what happened to my vehicle was exactly what happened to owners in the recall but they denied my good faith request.

While driving the vehicle, you suddenly loose power. The esc off light and engine light come on. You are not able to accelerate. It's like the pedal is not there. You could be going 50 mph and then suddenly drop down to 20 to 30 mph without warning. There is a few codes that come up: p2106 throttle actuator control system-forced limited powerp2138. Throttle/pedal position sensor/switch "d"/"e" voltagecorrelation.there are other codes that came up before and it also caused these issues. This happens while you are driving. Sometimes you can tell its going to turn on the esc light and engine light and going to loose power and sometimes it happens all of a sudden.when researching online about this problem, its a common problem with kia especially the sedonas.

Some electoral problems are happening. Stop lamp switch was replaced in 2013 due to safety recall 13v114000. At present the esc light is malfuntioning and the vehicle will not shift out of park. Took the vehicle to our kia dealership and the service department determined that a faulty stop lamp switch was the cause. The switch was replaced and vehicle operates as normal. A request for reimbursement has been submitted to kia for the cost of the repair.this is a major safety concern and i feel it is the responsibility of kia motors to issue another recall.

Brake lights not illuminating, esc light is on that it is not functioning check engine light looked up that it was a recall on 2007 kia sedona but when entering my vin # it does not show up

I have a recall letter.

The electrical doors stopped working and do not latch, the door fly open when we turn a corner. The esc light is on. My brakes and transmission has malfunctioned.. Malfunctions in sc 134. Sc133. Sc098. The ;suspenision and clicks and clutters. Since this year alone my van has malfunctioned in all the areas, u can see when looked at...the doors alone are dangerious.

I took it to the dealer the next day and it cleared up on the way but check engine light remained on. They told me it was good and there was a technical service bulletin out for the check engine light. Well later that day check engine light came back on.

I am an employee of kia motors america.please look into this very dangerous issue. The power sliding doors on 2005-2008 kia sedona mini vans open by themselves while the vehicle is in motion.there are many cases reported to kia customer relations department however kia has not made it public. Kia is testing a few updated parts to correct this issue. Most without success.kia motors has a lot of these cases and may be attempting to cover it up.this is a very dangerous issue given the fact that a child may fall out of the vehicle while the car is in motion. These defective power sliding doors can open at any speeds, on the freeway at 55 mph or driving around town.please look into this! this is not a joke or a scam. This is a very serious issue that kia may be trying to cover up due to the cost of repair and or not having the correct countermeasure.customers must be warned and the power sliding doors must be turned off and a manufacture recall issue.please address this issue immediately. You do not want to read about a child falling out of a sedona mini van on the freeway.the vin that i listed is used just to get this complaint into the nhtsa however all sedona vans are affected.

We are having ongoing issues with front turn signal failures on our sedona and we have heard from other sedona owners with the same problem.i at first thought it was a simple matter of poor factory quality light bulbs (i have had to replace every bulb on this vehicle before it was even two years old).the headlight issue i was having seems to be corrected by more expensive and higher quality bulbs.the front turn signal issue is not a bulb issue.after replacing front turn signal bulbs on a quarterly basis since 2007, i finally slowed down to take a closer look at the problem.the problem with the front turn signals, is the ground contact point within the bulb socket.the ground "tab" is thin and over heats.once the tab is hot, it starts to loose the spring tension required to keep the tab in contact with the side of the bulb.once contact is lost, arcing starts to form pits and corrosion on the ground tab and the contact point.replacing good bulbs will sometimes mask the problem, because when you remove the old bulb and replace it with another, you will unintentionally knock away some of the corrosion.in doing so, the new bulb may start to operate for a period of time.in the past two years, i have simply removed the bulb, bent out the tab a little, and used scotch bright to sand away the corrosion.i then lube the bulb with proper grease and reinstall.i have mentioned the problem to the service departments of peak kia (where the vehicle was purchased) and arapahoe kia, but i'm being told that there is not an issue and there are no recalls.i asked if the newer model vehicles use any type of upgraded or changed bulb/socket/connection and was told nothing has changed because they are not having issues with turn signals.this is a problem with this model and it is a safety issue.

The dealer also advisedthe contact that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign id number: 09v130000 (exterior lighting: brake light: switch). The current mileage was 98,000 and the failure mileage was unknown.

The brake lights remain illuminated when the brake pedal is released and the electronic stability control (esc) malfunction light is on.the brake lights remaining on caused the battery to drain.

Right side brake light turns off when i press on the brake. Then doeant come back back on even with lights on. Everytime i press the brake pedal the back up warning sounds once. Everytime.

When brake pedal is depressed, the brake lights stay on. Electronic stability control malfuctions. Cruise control sometimes will not deactivate when brake pedal is depressed.

Brake light switch is malfunctioning, but this vehicle is not included as part of the 2013 recall for this same issue in other kia and hyundai cars.

The recall#09v130000, component: exterior lighting:brake lights:switch was issued after the replacement of contact vehicle and his vehicle is not included in this recall. The contact was also responsible for paying the repair cost. The failure mileage was 30,000 the current mileage was 61,105.

2007 kia sedona. Attorney writes on behalf of consumers regarding several problems with the vehicle *tgwthe consumer was driving, when suddenly the vehicle lost all power and dangerously dropped down from the posted speed of 60 mph to 10 mph. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. Eleven days later, the dealer stated the problem was fixed.the repair consisted of replacing the oxygen sensor, although the technician couldn't explain why it needed to be replaced. As the consumer was returning home, the loss of power occurred again and the vehicle was towed to the dealer. The dealer then stated the problem was with the fuel pump, so that was replaced. On july 31, 2009 the consumer retrieved the vehicle from the dealer and three hours later, the problem happened again. The dealer kept the vehicle for ten days. The vehicle was driven for a week with no problems. However, when the consumer attempted to pass a truck, the loss of power returned. The vehicle immediately slowed down from 60 mph to 20 mph. The consumer took the vehicle back to the dealer and on september 1, 2009 the dealer stated the vehicle had bad gasoline and therefore replaced the fuel pump and filter. The consumer kept the old fuel pump and filter and had it tested, which was later determined there was no sign of bad gasoline. Instead, the laboratory indicated the filter was clogged with an unknown clay substance. Nearly a year had passed with no incident. Then, once again while driving on august 20,2010, the vehicle began experiencing the same problem of suddenly losing all power.the vehicle was taken to a different dealer. They replaced the throttle sensors and upgraded the computer. However, an hour after picking up the vehicle, the problem occurred again.the vehicle was taken back to the old dealer and when they removed the fuel filter, they discovered it was clogged with a foreign colored material that looked the same as before. The consumer had to pay for another fuel filter and the dealer could not explain why it continued to happen.

While driving on the interstate with cruise control activated the vehcile experianced an uncommanded deceleration with no response to pressing the gas pedal. With no left hand medium to pull over to, this left only the right medium as an alternative. Navigating to the right without acceleration made this extreamly dangerous in miami traffic. Once on the medium the vehicle was turned off and restarted, reactivating the system. Dealer indicates the throttle position sensor is intermittanly defective causing the throttle to default to idle mode and deactivating throttle commands. I am of the opinion this is an unsafe condition and the throttle should default to a manual input if the sensor becomes discrepant.

City driving down a busy road at 45 miles an hour and the car speed began dropping, check engine light came on, and gas pedal would go all the way to the floor but not give gas to the engine. Pulled car into a nearby parking lot. After sitting for about 15 minutes, my mechanic showed up. He started the car and the gas pedal worked. We drove it to my home. Now i am afraid to drive it, it could happen again, and cost for fuel system repair is huge for me!

Both passenger sliding doors fail to latch in the closed position when closing electrically.have to manually shove the rear end of the sliding doors into the flushed position.happens about 10 % of the time.

Electric sliding door on 2007 kia sedona slides open while car is moving.no "door ajar" alarm before slides open.occured several times, including while vehicle moving at over 50 mph with a child in the seat next to the door.

I own a 2007 kia sedona minivan.i contacted the dealer concerning the rear sliding passenger doors.the doors had opened on three separate occasions during a family trip to and from ohio in which my two granddaughters were riding in their safety seats.the van was taken in to the dealership and i was told they had no complaints concerning the doors but that they would check the doors. The dealership stated they made door adjustments to both doors.again the doors opened and i took the vehicle back to the dealer. The gentleman stated he knew what the problem was and he would insure it was corrected.this time i was told it was a sensor.again the door opened when i took the van back i was told "mrs. Davis we can not find a problem with the doors i don't know what to tell you."i was so upset by his response that i contacted kia corporate which they asked that i take the van back into the dealer. I was the modules would have to be replaced and that they will take a week to get the parts that they are working with a tech from kia. The modules are replaced in both doors.again i have another event of the door opening on the passenger side.i also discover my tailgate door only opens manually even though it was to be powered.i take it back to kia and they state they had the wrong modules put in and replaced them with the correct modules.they doors opened twice on my return trip from oklahoma on saturday november 22, 2008 again i had to stop and close the doors.this vehicle is a real concern as i purchased this vehicle in april 2008 and i have only had it 8 months. It has placed me in fear of transporting my grandchildren who live with us.they are 5 months and 2 years of age.

My husband became locked out of our vehicle with it running and our 2 year old daughter inside.

The left side automatic sliding door intermittently failed to latch in the closed position when the door was closed with the either the remote, the front button, or the rear button.the latch actuated, the actuator kicked off as normal, then returned to about a 4" open state under the doors own tension preload.

Transmission shifts slowly from 1st to 2nd gear and rpms at 25mph and 45mph are ar 1000 or less causing car to vibrate under load when accelerating due to low rpm

My 2007 kia sedona minivan has 18,000 miles and has two major issues.first, a grinding noise in the front end attributed by a mechanic to new front end bearings. Second, a check-engine code which is causing the rough idle based off of faulty o2 sensors.both items were diagnosed by a kia certified garage - gary rome kia in enfield, ct.i don't believe front end bearings should fail on a 2007 vehicle.also, there is a technical service bulletin for the o2 sensors.according to mechanics at gary rome kia - both issues are "very common with these minivans."

2007 kia sedona (same as hyundai entourage).one minute after parking the vehicle, it rolled backwards and crashed into a light pole across the street.i did not notice any warning lights or hear any noises before the failure occurred.my wife sustained injuries from trying to stop it, including having her foot run over and a huge bruise on her hip.

Vehicle would not move, went from speed of 70 on highway to not going at all. Mash accelerator and vehicle would not go. Bought got hit in the rear by oncoming vehicles. Could not even accelerate car enough to get to the side of the road. Called kia dealership and they said it is throttle body wire and car is out of warranty. After researching on internet there have been lots of problems with this same thing. Kia said if it happens again just cut car off and back on. Easy said when you are driving down the highway.

While driving on the highway the driver's power seat moved back on its own and the controls to move the seat were non-responsive.the driver had to release the seat belts to slide forward on the seat in order to reach the pedals.had to pull over and turn the vehicle off before the power seat controls would work again.after getting back on the road, the same thing happened again.if this had happened when the driver needed to stop, they would not have been able to reach the brake pedal.took the vehicle to the dealership the next day. They kept the car all day and were unable to diagnose or reproduce the issue and returned the vehicle to us.

I have only put the seats on this vehicle in and out 6 times in all of the time i have owned it.i am now unable to lock the left rear seat into position.i am also unable to remove the seat.the wires under the seat are not responding to the pull mechanism.the seats were stored very carefully and no damage was done while in 5 years of storage.i am not able to safely take the grand kids for a ride without putting up the last row of seats up so they can be buckled in.

The contact owns a 2007 kia sedona. The contact stated that he was unable to lock the second row seat back in place after it was removed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who performed a diagnostic test that confirmed that the failure was caused by the seat rail locking system which needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted, but denied assistance with the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 72,000. Updated 04/15/11*ljthe consumer stated the seat appear to be latch when they are not.the dealer diagnosed the problem as a misaligned seat rail that was mounted on the bottom of the floor.

Brake light switch is malfunctioning, but this vehicle is not included as part of the 2013 recall for this same issue in other kia and hyundai cars.

Takata recall there is a popping sound under the van while you are driving doesnt matter what kind of road you are on unknown what part it isthe esc light keeps coming on doesnt matter what kind of road you are on and the brakes keep acting like they are going out doesnt matter what kind of road you are on

The contact owns a 2007 kia sedona. While driving approximately 70 mph driving down the highway, the accelerator and brakes failed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 96,750. The vin was not available.

A year ago i do receive a recall letter notifying for rusty lower arms wheels to be replaced but such thing never happened.

Van started making clunking / grinding noise when turning and/or hitting small bumps (bigger bump bigger noise).dealer says 3 of 4 body bushings cracking / worn.dealer states not a common problem.said has never seen before yet has parts in stock to fix for $850.i do not believe that a van that is 6 years old with 72,000 miles that is driven exclusively on paved roads should have body bushings failing.i have seen numerous complaints about this issue specifically, and others that sound similar but have gone undiagnosed, relating to 2006 / 07 & 08 sedona's.might this be an issue covered in a recall?

The contact owns a 2007 kia sedona. The contact was traveling 20 mph when the passenger sidesliding doors opened suddenly and without warning. 2007 kia sedona - dual power doors. Doors do not open or close properly by handle or remote button on power console. This has been previously referenced in tsb-048 and tsb-040. The doors can be opened and closed manually with a great deal of effort. Passenger side door exhibited problems first, and completely stopped working approx. 3-4 weeks after the initial issue. Driver's side door now exhibiting similar issues opening and closing properly by handle, remote, or console button.

While driving at highway speed the hood popped open and bent the hood and smashed the windshield. I already had the recall on the hood latch repaired in 2017 at a kia dealer. I brought it back to the dealer and they they cant help me and said to report it to kia corporate. The hood now wont close due to damage. The impact also broke the rear-view mirror and inside light console. It seems that hood latch problem has not been rectified. I have filed a complaint with kia and a claim with my insurance provider.

For 4 years now, the sliding doors on my family van (2007 kia sedona) have been popping open while driving.this can happen when i simply press the gas, hit a very minor bump, or sometimes doesn't appear to have a cause.the overhead lights all come on, the door open chime begins to ding.i've taken this to kia almost a dozen times to no resolve.and now, the problem continues and though it's been recurring for 4 years now, they want to charge me for out of warranty service.

We have had several problems with this vehicle.we just replaced both the rear and front sub bushings.our mechanic said this problem should have never occurred on a vehicle this young.we only have one sliding door that functions right now.the driver side sliding door does not work unless you physically pull it open and shut.i have been reading the same complaints from several 2007 kia owners.why has there been no recall issued?

The sliding door opens while driving. Some of our groceries flew out and just missed a man waiting for the bus. This along with latching problems and auto door opening issuies. Have replaced many parts and spent many dollars trying to fix. I was told the problems were because i live on a gravel road and dust is caking on the motors. I spent 370 dollars today to get the door just to stay latched!!! i was told to spray water into my door once a week and once a month to take the door apart and spray water and re grease. Both sides have the same issue. Why has this not been a recall. If my kid was in the car and fell out heads would roll. If my groceries had hit the man waiting for the bus i would have been sued. I went on line to see if other owners had similar issues and there was so many that i was shocked. Some days we can't open our auto sliding doors and have to go manual. Some of those times it does not latch so we use rope on the door handles to keep it from opening. How can this be safe???

2007 kia sedona[xxx]normal vehicle usage.while driving the passenger side power sliding door will open without operator interaction, resulting in an unsafe condition.typically the power siding door is closed using one of two power buttons, first in overhead console for driver the second is located next to the passenger on the body frame.without notice the door will open while driving down the road.occasionally the non-latched door warning will light up followed by the warning ell and then the door is open.the power button is disabled to allow the door to be closed manually and the same scenario will occur.vehicle taken to dealership for repair, indicating that didn't have correct parts, and need to order.must still operate vehicle in this condition.similar incident within the past year with door on other side of vehicle, don't recall exact date or fix performed by dealership. While driving down the freeway at 65 mph, the driver's side sliding door opened up while my 8 month old grand-daughter was in the seat next to the opened door, thankfully secured in her car seat.i am surprised to see that no recall has been issued for this after reading so many other complaints of this exact incident!

The rearpassenger power door went out. A couple days later the rear drivers power door and the lock on the hatch quit working. The doors will pop open while driving.i i called the kia dealership and they are unaware of the problem but offered me financing torepair the problem. I told them there is complaint after complaint online dealing with the same issue! customers have replaced motors, have had electric replaced, replaced sliding door mechanisms and even replaced the computer and are still having the same issues!!!!!!i am livid!!!so i have no choice but to pay them to fix it because i've called around and all the repair shops told me they will not touch it. Problem is that the doors do not stay shut!! i cannot put my children in the car because the doors open while driving. The doors will not lock period!!! even parked and locked you can walk up to the door and put no effort into opening the door!!! i bought the kiaused in june of 2013 and still owe almost 10 thousand dollars and kia is not willing to pay for the repair....i will never ever buy another kia!!!!!!

Sub frame bushings on my 2007 kia sedona ,are according to my kiadealership"toast".noise startedat 70000 miles. They are not under warranty. This is way to early for this type of bushing to fail, under very average driving conditions. This should be a recall fix.

I purchased in 2008. I have heard the axle or tire rod make squeaking noise on every bump or dip. Everytime i mention to shop mechanic and they check, they say nothing is wrong. After 96000 miles they tell me they cannot give me a alignment because i need new tire rods. The same vehicle i have complained for 9 years.

2007 kia sedona. At about 62,000 miles suspension was making noise. Dealer diagnosed the front sub cross member bushings as needing replacement-to the tune of $2200.00! this was done and it fixed the problem. At 67,000 miles a new front end noise has developed over bumps. I'm now told the control arm bushings need to be replaced and sway bar link bushings will be next. Car is maintained and used for local short trips around town. I would expect a recall for using substandard bushings.

Mechanic was rotating tires and observed that right front coil spring was broken and left front was close to broken.opened ticket with kia consumer affairs.during my investigation, i found that there was a recall (bulletin sc-095) for 2006 model year for this specific issue.kia stated that recall was applicable to '06 only.we live and operate the vehicle in il, one of the states listed in the recall.my assumption is that the conditions causing the issue dealt with in the original recall continued to exist in later model years.i feel that this could potentially be a significant safety issue.had my wife had to make a sudden stop or sudden evasive maneuver, with one broken spring and another likely to break, there could possibly have been a catastrophic failure.there are likely a fairly significant number of cars still on the road with this issue.

As a consequence his risk for vehicle crash was increased, if the tires fail while driving. The failure mileage was 30,000. The current mileage was 31,281.

Subframe bushings around the bolts that hold the engine/transmission have gone bad and my warranty was up at 60,000.i have had other cars longer without this problem.i have had this car for almost 3 years.i have read other reviews of this problem with kia sedona's subframe and was wondering if this should be recalled. It is currently at the service station and the mechanic has told me at no point they would have not checked this for any service, only if we made them aware of the problem.

I was going about 60mph on route 680. When i pressed on the accelerator the car kept accelerating by itself. I had to put the car in neutral but the engine kept increasing speed. I was able to pull over and stop.as of this writing my kia dealer said the only problem recorded by his equipment was a break switch.

I have handed over my car for repairing on 09-23-2020 which is still not fixed and still lying with horne kia service centre gilbert, arizona.

Power sliding doors, won't work, then work but won't close completely. Having issues with both sides. More the passenger side than the driver side.

The hood became unlatched while driving on the highway, smashing the windshield. The insurance company wants to total the car rather than fixing it. Tjete is a recall on the hood latch. Can i expect kia to repair my car?

The vehicle will from time to time suddenly accelerate onits own without warning. This has occurred twice in the past few weeks. Has occurred while slowing to come to a stop and while speeding up to normal operating speeds. When it happens braking does not stop the acceleration the speed continues to increase.

Break lights & cruze controlnot working at all.esc lights stay on driver mirror turn up & down when put vehicle in drive & reverse back hatch - when vehicle is put in drive sensor bell tells me itā€™s openeven after i have shut it ,i have to do it every more than once every time i drive the vehicle.rear driver side slide door have to open and shut manually

My grandchildren and i were coming home from the lake on a highway at about 60 mph.i depressed the accelerator to pass another car when it became stuck.we were accelerating at a rapid speed and i could not slow the vehicle down i was standing on the break and was still doing 80mpi.i had to put the car into neutral to coast theside of the road but the engine was still revving at high speed.after stopping the vehicle i had to manually pull the accelerator pedal up with my hand.there was nothing for it to have gotten stuck on.the floor mats were not touching the pedal in any way.this was not only scary but to say the least very dangerous.

Transmission shifts slowly from 1st to 2nd gear and rpms at 25mph and 45mph are ar 1000 or less causing car to vibrate under load when accelerating due to low rpm

Vehicle break lights, cruze control does not work at allesv light stay on

When the car accelerate the gas pedal gets stock, this happened to me twice already and three months.

While driving my husbands kia it picks up speed if going over 40 mph it will shut off and we get no power to the gas peddle it holds alot of heat from the motor the side doors open and close when they want ..but my biggest issue is the gas peddle and the shutting off while driving.

When you press gas pedal and caraccelerate the gas pedal gets stuck it happens to me a couple times this month i believe the car needs to be recall for the gas pedal thank you

This is a brand new 2007 kia sedona.i was merging on a highway and pressed the acceleration pedal as usual when i noticed immediately that the car was stuck on the acceleration mode despite the fact my foot was no longer on the gas pedal. The car would not slow down or stop despite my foot pressing firming them slamming the brakes.in fact the engine/motor kept racingeven though now i was slamming on the emergency brakes.although i could not look down at the dashboard, my minivan must have been going over 100mph in moderate traffic.this continued until i passed another exit.the only resolution was to shift the car into neutral which slowed it down and then i was able to put the car into a narrow shoulder and put it in park then turned the car off right away.my family and i were almost killed because of this vehicle failure!

The contact owns a 2007 kia sedona. While driving 60 mph and trying to slow down, the vehicle suddenly accelerated. The contact had to thrust the vehicle into neutral and the rpms kept increasing. The contact pulled over and turned the vehicle off. The dealer stated that they could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle accelerated at least three times after the diagnostic test. The contact called the manufacturer who stated that if the dealer could not duplicate the failure, they could not repair the vehicle. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 44,609.

We were driving interstate 80 westbound.as we were exiting a rest area entering the interstate the acceleratorbecame stuck and the speed of the vehicle could not be controlled.we were reaching speeds upwards of 90-100 mph.we couldn't get the van to slow down so we put the van in neutral to slow it down. The van finally slowed but because the rpms of the engine were so high and would not stop the engine made a screaming noise and the van finally stopped.we had it towed about 50 miles to the kia dealer in des moines iowa and are waiting to see if there was a factory defect that caused the pedal to become stuck all the way to the floor with no release.. In the mean time it is feared that the engine is blown, makingpayments still and no vehicle or help from dealer atthis time..

The contact owns a 2007 kia sedona. While driving at approximately 25 mph, the vehicle accelerated independently. The brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle continued to accelerate. In order to stop the vehicle, it had to be restarted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 61,000.

In spring of 2013, our 2007 kia sedona ex continued to accelerate after letting off of the pedal.this occurred on a hilly, windy road with wife and three children.car continued to accelerate through the braking efforts.car was stopped without incident.dealer test drove (could not replicate the problem) and ran through diagnostics without yielding any codes.they basically stated it must have been the pedal getting stuck on a floor mat.it was the first time we experienced it, so we thought that might be reasonable.however, the same problem happened again with husband twice while driving the car with two kids under similar road conditions.when put in neutral the rpms reached 6-7000 and maintained it until it fell down by itself.the problem continued while on family vacation, this time on flat roads.it did not matter whether i was starting out of a red light, or simply accelerating between speed limit changes.the pedal was not getting stuck on the floor mat.this must have happened 15 or so times on the 6 hr ride home from vacation.took it to a different dealer when we got home.they seemed to take it more seriously...got the district service manager involved and i even received a case# and phone calls from kia america, corporate in california.i felt pretty good.they even paid for my rental car.kia had my car for over 2 weeks at the dealer.then i got another call from them stating that kia was putting pressure on them to put me back in my car because they wanted to end the rental car contract.this dealer said the same thing as the last one...no diagnostic codes, could not replicate the problem, and they ran through the checklist of items that kia makes them go through with this unintended acceleration issue.i now have to go test drive it for them.if i cannot replicate the issue, then i have to take it back unfixed. Ugh.disgusted..

The contact owns a 2007 kia sedona. While stopped at a stop light the contact was informed by another driver that the vehicle's brake lights were not functioning. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in recall 09v130000 exterior lighting: brake lights: switch. The contact noticed prior that the cruise control feature would no longer function and the esc light had appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle had not been diagnosed. The current and failure mileages was 68000.

The contact owns a 2007 kia sedona.the contact noticed that the computer in the vehicle would sometimes accelerate on its own.the first instance occurred while test driving the vehicle.the vehicle accelerated when he removed his foot from the brake pedal.the dealer stated that the failure was caused by the vehicle being parked on the sales lot for months.two weeks after purchasing the vehicle, the failure recurred.while driving in reverse at 20 mph, the contact crashed into a fencepost due to the failure.he took the vehicle to the dealer nine times for a diagnostic, but no error codes could be found.the manufacturer did not assist.the current mileage was 42,833 and failure mileage was 30,193.

The contact owns a 2007 kia sedona.while driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle accelerated and became stuck at approximately 60 mph.the contact placed both feet on the brake pedal in an attempt to stop the vehicle, but nothing happened.she then proceeded to kick the side of the accelerator pedal for approximately one minute before the pedal released.there was no crash.the dealer was notified and confirmed that the pedal sticks and will replace the accelerator pedal.the pedal is currently on order.the current mileage was 3,434 and failure mileage was 3,300.updated 3/11/08 the consumer stated this defect happened twice. Updated 03/11/08

The accelerator on my minivan would get stuck and not release.i had to throw the gearshift into neutral once to disengage it. I took the car to the dealership, they looked at it and said they could not find anything wrong with it.similar episodes happened at least three other times.the lase time was as i was driving up my driveway into the garage with my one year old daughter in the van.the accelerator would not release and we crashed into the interior wall of my house.we, fortunately, were not hurt but there was extensive damage to my house and the van.

2007 kia sedona cruise control is not working when driving on hills. *njthe consumer stated the cruise control worked fine on short hills, but when she drove on long hills, with the cruise set, it went out of control.the dealer told the consumer that cruise control only worked on flat hills or going uphill.

The front windshield wiper linkage easily comes loose, causing loss of functionality for the front wipers. The cause is the nut connecting the linkage to the motor coming loose and popping off, disengaging the linkage from the motor. This has happened to the same vehicle twice:the first time (early 2008), we took the vehicle to the dealer, who repaired the linkage but refused to cover it under the vehicle's bumper-to-bumper warranty, saying it was caused by running the wipers when they were stuck in ice.the second time (december 4, 2008), we fixed the problem ourselves after the dealer informed us that they would not be able to see the vehicle until the following monday.i feel that this is a significant safety issue. We were fortunate that both incidents occurred when the vehicle was parked, but the problem could easily occur while the vehicle is in motion, causing loss of visibility. After the first occurrence, the driver was careful to clear ice from the wipers before running them. Nevertheless, the problem recurred. Kia recalled other vehicles for a similar problem back in 1999.

While our front windshield was being replaced due to damage from road debris, the technician informed us and showed us how the window was separating from the car.the adhesive was completely separated from the window pane.the defect was noted in the upperleft and right sides of the window.the technician informed us that in the event of a collision, the window would have dislodged from the vehicle.

I was driving down a country highway at 55mph in pouring rain at about 7:00pm, dark. The windshield wipers were on constantly however not on the highest setting. I went around a curve and the wipers just stopped. No warning, no noise, nothing, just stopped. Luckily no one was around me and i could get to the side of the road. My husband looked at it when we got it home and it appears that the linkage has sheared off.

The entire wheel hub assembly is rusted and shield is rusted to the point of crumbling. After the last recall on the control arm, the vehicle began thumping at every turn. A few weeks later the bearings seized up. Upon further inspection the wheel hub, attachment bolts, and shield are all rusted in place.
