Never involved in a accident and airbag light is on, checked with a mechanic and the passenger airbag sensor mat needs to be replaced with a cost of 2.000 dollars, car is only 59000 miles.

Ran off the road by a truck and went into a ditch. Not one airbag deployed. The car was equipped with knee airbags, front airbags, side impact airbags and side curtain airbags. Totaled the car, was lifeflighted to vanderbilt. They had difficulty getting me out of the car because the airbags did not deploy.they could not cut the bar between the front and back seats because it was loaded with undeployed airbags.had a broken leg/hand and neck, chest and back injuries.notified kia to find out why the airbags did not deploy.first was told that "it was obvious that i did not hit the right spots to trigger the airbags".sent them pictures, copy of page in the owners manual showing that most of the sensors were hit and a copy of the accident report.after calling almost every day for three weeks they told me that their engineers had determined "that it was not a severe enough impact to deploy the airbags" despite the car being totaled.

Passenger air bag "off" light comes on even though a passenger is in the seat with seat belt fastened.sometimes it will go off when a passenger sits in the seat, and at other times it comes on and stays on, regardless of how many times passenger repositions in the seat or refastens the seat belt.i never know if the air bag is armed properly or not.occurs standstill or while driving.

The contact owned a 2007 kia rondo. While driving approximately 80 mph, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed head on into a tree. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was destroyed and the driver was fatally injured. A police report was filed. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 150,000.

The contact owns a 2007 kia rondo. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where a diagnostic was performed, which located the failure at the front passenger's side mat sensor. The manufacturer advised that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number 12v244000 (air bag). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 104,000.

Front end wreck, totalled the car but the airbags failed to deploy.impact severe enough that front doors had to be pried open.

Airbag light and passenger seatbelt warning light came on, symptoms similarto those described in kia recall campaign sc094. Kia was contacted and they advised that this vehicle not covered under the recall. I feel possible it is one of the affected models.

The contact owns a 2007 kia rondo. The contact stated that the cruise control was not working and the air bag indicator illuminated. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 192,000.

I was turning left into a walmart parking lane and struck a yellow lane marker that did not have a lane sign. This sign had been broken off 3 days prior to my accident on 11-25-2010. Walmart did not replace the lane marker properly. The impact was driver/corner destroying the light and pushing the panel into the driver door; subsequently the door will not properly open. The airbag lamp did light up, but the airbag itself did not deploy at all.

2/5/09, i had an accident, my 2007 kia rondo, purchased new in 12/07 ran off the road, slid on ice head on into a tree.my seatbelts did not lock up and my airbags failed to deploy leaving me with a broken bone between my 1st and 2nd vertebra and a severely injured right arm and my head hit with windshield.my car was totaled, my son received 9 stitches to his chin and i am facing at least 2 surgeries.kia's response is that the air bags should not have deployed.how can someone hit a tree, dead center, completely totaling out the vehicle and the manufacturer make such a statement?the police, hospital, treating physicians and my auto insurance company all agree, along with myself, that had these safety features worked i would have never sustained such injuries.

On 2/5/09 i was the driver of a 2007 kia rondo that i purchased new at the end of 2007.i slid on ice and hit a tree head on at an estimated speed of 30 mph.my 14 year old son was the passenger.i automatically extended my right arm over my son and the next thing i knew was that i was laying back in my seat crying that i had broke my arm.i believe that i was knocked out for a few seconds as i do not recall hitting the windshield.it is my belief that i was thrown from my seat into the passenger side windshield.i had a knot on my head and the next day during the day light, it was clear the windshield was hit as it was shattered.my airbags did not deploy at all and my vehicle was a total loss.i also did not have any seatbelt marks and both my son and i was wearing a seatbelts.my son sustained a cut to his chin that required 9 stitches, i sustained a neck injury that i am still having treatment for and i had a severely torn rotary cuff that required surgery and some metal pieces to put it back together.as a direct result of this accident, i am no longer able to work, i have had to file for disability, am required to take extensive pain medications, have lost my home, my car and most importantly my ability to work and support my family.

I have a 2007 kia rondo with a defective stop lamp switch which causes the electronic stability control malfunctionlight to illuminate and the brake pedal does not consistently deactivate cruise control when it is depressed. There was a safety recall done on this part, however my vehicle was manufactured less than one month after date range of the recalled vehicles and the kia dealership says my vin wasn't affected. I believe that to be incorrect and that i have a defective stop lamp switch that should be included in this recall. Recall campaign id#12v014000.

The contact owns a 2007 kia rondo. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 12v014000 (air bags). While driving at any speed, the passenger side air bag warning indicator illuminated, which was a safety concern. The vehicle was taken to schumacher buick gmc of north palm beach (3720 northlake blvd suite c, lake park, fl 33403, 561-935-4212) where it was confirmed that the parts were not available. The technician replaced the sensors, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified, but was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

I was involved in a side impact accident. The other driver ran a red light at approximately 50 mph striking my vehicle in the front drivers door. None of the air bags deployed. The accident resulted in c6 and c7 being fused. This resulting in a permanent disability.

The contact owns a 2007 kia rondo. He had continuous electrical failure with his vehicle. During the recent failure, the vehicle caught fire under the hood. The vehicle was pushed outside his garage in order to save his home from being burned. There was a short in the abs module and the brakes failed. On several occasions, he also lost power on the electrical instrument panel. The dealer replaced the entire fuse panel and within three days, the failure recurred. The dealer stated that he would need authorization from the manufacturer before repairing the vehicle a second time. The manufacturer advised him that they had the right to make the repairs; however, the contact refused since previous attempts to repair the vehicle were unsuccessful. The current mileage was approximately 22,000 and the failure mileage was approximately 1,485.updated 02/05/09. *ljthe consumer stated the abs light illuminated. When he applied the brake, it went to the floor.the wiring in the dash shorted out on several occasions. Updated 02/10/09.

The contact owns a 2007 kia ronda. On several occasions, while slowing down in the middle of a turn, the vehicle lost electrical power. The contact was able to restart the vehicle on the first attempt. The vehicle was taken to mccafferty kia of langhorne (located at 1939 lincoln hwy, langhorne, pa 19047, (267) 587-0554) where it was diagnosed that the battery and battery terminals needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 91,000.

While driving down the road at the indicated speed limit of 35 miles per hour, there was a loud thump and then my car stopped. Immediately, i was terrified. I didn't know what was going on. Someone pulled over to help me and i eased my car over to the side of the road with persons manually pushing the car because it would not start back up. I called for assistance and was towed home. Upon getting the car home, i was told that the engine is dead. I was shocked. I was told that i would end up having to replace the entire engine and that could be very expensive. My problem is that i was getting regular scheduled maintenance on the vehicle to include oil changes. I have no idea how a engine just blows like that without no warning light (electrical problem) coming on or anything. I just could not believe this.i started to do some research. I found several reports that the engine died in kia rondo models. I contacted kia to ask them if they had looked into this since so many reports have been made. They informed me that they do not have to do anything because the nhtsa has not told them they had to. I then asked what about safety. I also said that this can cause fatalities because had i been on the highway and my car just stopped like that, i don't know what could have happened. This issue is occurring too often in this model of vehicle. And to be honest i think kia is aware of this because they actually stopped making this model. Something needs to be done. What am i to do about my transportation now that this engine is dead??? kia needs to answer for this.

The contact owns a 2007 kia rondo. The contact stated that while driving 20 mph, she turned on the air conditioner and air blew out of the vents at maximum velocity. The contact attempted to turn the air conditioner off, but it would not shut off. The contact also stated that the headlights and tail lights stopped illuminating. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer and the manufacture was not notified. The failure mileage was 55,000 and the current mileage 59,000.the vin was not available.

In the morning i was on my way to college and the sprinklers of my apartment complex where on as usual, which made puddles of water on the street. I went through one and i lost all steering power. The vehicle started to squick really loudly and all the warning lights came an in the dashboard and the a/c stop blowing cold air, i provided to turn the engine off and restarting it and then it was back to normal again. I started moving and went through another puddle and every thing i mentioned above happened again. Any time that the floor is wet i cannot use the vehicle because i loos total control of the steering.

To whom it may concern,on approximately, sunday, august 10, 2014, i was driving my 2007 kia rondo and a man hit my bumper due to the fact he could not see my brake lights (due to the manufacturer's recalled parts; nhtsa campaign numbers: 13v114000 and 09v130000). I was unaware of the recalled product until yesterday, february 1, 2015, when i was doing a google search. This whole situation has really frightened me because i am essentially driving a ticking time bomb. The brake lights are out, and the red "air bag" light is on (therefore determining that the air bags do not work; nhtsa campaign number: 12v014000), and the yellow "esc off" light is on, and does not go off. I have to continuously pop open the hood to reconnect the battery every other time attempt to turn the car on.i am a monday-friday 9-5 working 19 year old living on his own, and i am living to paycheck to paycheck. I am simply unable to pay for the damages due to the engineering by the manufacturer, and i am praying i will receive some type of compensation so i can have a reliable car for my daily life.kind regards,a 2007 kia rondo owner

The contact owns a 2007 kia rondo. The contact stated that while driving 10 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact mentioned that the failure occurred when the a/c was activated. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the air compressor and the hose needed to be replaced and the system needed to be cleaned due to potential metal fragments. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 98,000.

The contact owns a 2007 kia rondo. The contact stated that for more than three years the contact has had problems with the headlights dimming and flickering on the vehicle. The failure occurs when the rpms on the vehicle changes. The manufacturer has inspected the vehicle and stated they have no fix for the vehicle. The manufacturer told the contact that this failure would be corrected on the 2010 model. The failure mileage 20 and current mileage was 78000.the consumer believed the headlights were adjusted to high. The dealer informed the consumer that kia was aware of the problem with the 2010 model and was working on a fix.the tires were cupping in the rear, the rear brakes, battery and brake switch had to be replaced. The vehicle overheated. The vehicle would not come out of park. The dealer. The dealer replaced the brake pedal switch. The alternator was replaced. Updated evoq 02/28/11

Vehicle had the stop lamp switch replaced under nhtsa campaign 09v130000 (kia recall sc077) in june 2009.on 4/6/14 the replacement stop lamp switch failed causing the esc malfunction light to illuminate, the brake lights to fail to illuminate, and brake-transmission interlock to prevent the transmission from being either shifted from n to r or from p to r without using the shift lock release tab.i had just backed out of a parking space at one store with no problems, crossed the street, and attempted to park at another store when the transmission would not shift out of drive.had to use shift lock release to get vehicle home and to dealer on 4/7/14.dealer confirmed failure of the replacement switch, charged me $69.02 in parts and labor to replace it.since kia expanded the recall in april 2013 to cover all remaining rondo's, i feel that kia should have replaced the switch under warranty as this indicates a lingering problem with the switches across various model years and other kia and hyundai models.i also feel that nhtsa should investigate failure rates of the switches replaced under nhtsa campaign 09v130000 (kia recall sc077) because kia apparently has not made satisfactory progress in resolving this safety issue given the failure of the unit placed in my vehicle.

On freeway car suddenly lurched, felt like the brakes went on and engine died. Took car to ny dealer whosaid there was a recall on a part and they installed the part. Driving back to florida the same thing happened about 800 miles later. Called my venice dealer who said that he has had about forty calls about this recall part but does not have any of the parts and said that the dealer in ny probably put in an old or used part. Called kia service number and could not get any answers there about parts or help. Dealer is putting me first on the list for a repair. What is the most frustrating is the fact that the recall notice states that this part may put you at risk of a crash.

The contact owns a 2007 kia rondo.the contact was driving 25 mph when the brake lights malfunctioned.the contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number: 09v130000 (exterior lighting:brake lights:switch) and called the manufacturer but the manufacturer informed the contact that the vin was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was concerned because other drivers would not be aware of when he was applying the brakes.the failure mileage was 100,000.updated 10/17/11updated 10/28/11

I was driving my 2007 kia rondo at highway speed with the cruise control on when the engine speed revved up dramatically-as if the transmission had disengaged. Stepped on the brakes, cruise disengaged and engine slowed.around the same time, noticed the abs and esc off lights would come on intermittently, stay on, then not come on.at slow speed turns after the car set for a while, the abs would engage on dry pavement (without light) and car did not slow normally. Went to dealer, who said the issue was a brake light switch, which was replaced and vehicle taken for a test drive.when i picked the car up, both the abs and esc off lights were off, but came on within minutes of leaving the lot. Later that night, abs started acting up again-once without even stepping on the brake pedal.taking the car back to dealer tomorrow to see what is going on.only learned of stop light switch recall by web search.

Started car, abs light and esc light stay illuminated.both lights will inttermittenly come on.they will stay on for random amounts of time.

After 2 repairs at kia dealers my kia rondo has again slammed on the brakes with no warning at all this is the third time this has happened and at 65 mph it is quite an experience. I can not believe we have not been rear ended by the other cars on the road. I have explained to two kia service departments what has happened but in both instances they installed a tail light switch and claimed that would solve the problem. I am now afraid to drive this car again. At the present time the dealer is ordering a new part but can only hope they know what they are doing this time. Please somehow alert all kia owners of this problem which by doing may save injuries or a life. Thank you

There was a recall on my kia rondo for the esc safety.i took my car to the dealer 3 times to have them repair it.every time they said that it was fixed and they even test drove it for a hour and the light never came on for them.then every time my dad and my finance would bring it to me, i would drive it home from work and the light would come on.i then went out after dinner to see if it would come on and it did.i also had it for the weekend out and every time i drove it the light would come on.every time i would show my finance the light being on because i wanted someone else to see it.the dealer took a part from another vehicle and replaced mine because they did not have any parts because they were spent the wrong ones.

Esc error light on dashboard and simultaneous anti-lock brake noise when in motion. Mileage on car 28,390 original miles. Towed vehicle to dealer.kia related recall sc077 from 2009 & sc098 from 2013.diagnosis faulty brake switch.switch was replaced under first recall in 2009 with another faulty switch.kia refuses to honor second recall to replace faulty switch.

Brake lights failed and esc light will not turn off.

My 2007 kia rondo has for the fourth time since the end of june slammed on the brakes with no warning. It has been to the dealer for repair three times and it is still not safe to drive. If a truck had been behind the car when the brakes slammed on we would have been killed. I can no longer drive this car on the interstate for fear of getting killed. This is my third complaint.

During state of ny vehicle inspection it was noted that the electronic stability and abs systems were non functional. Amber symbols were on at time of inspection. Dealer reports electronic stability control and abs features are no longer functioning. Reason given: computer controlled sending unit located in wheel well and its wires are corroded. Corrosion is per dealer common with this unit and model. Parts have been ordered. However at present abs/esc no longer work. The car is now less safe without these functional devices. Your input is needed in this. Thank you

Warning light on esc system will shows esc is off and continue to stay on, strange braking habits.when applied. Inherent as learned with all kia's of this model and year

Brake lights don't turn on and when you press on the brake the esc on the dash lights up saying it's off.

I was driving on the highway when exiting the vehicle shut off. I took it to the mechanic and explained what happen. They said they checked it and nothing was wrong it was just the air compression "which they fixed" but as soon as i went to the mall the stick shift jammed and i couldn't turn off the car. An officerhelped me and said take it back to the mechanic. When i brought it back he said it moves fine there's nothing wrong. My car has been parked ever since this incident. Im afraid it will shut off and we might crash. Please help me thank you.

I was in a car accident and i rear ended an at&t utility truck.

My engine caught on fire ...the fire was started near or around the fuel rail/ or injectors.i researched kia recalls and other years and other models of kia's were part of a similar risk.i feel that this was a huge safety risk....luckily my car engine caught fire very close to my home, and i was able to pull in my driveway and call the fire dept.i was injured in this event....but the burn was minor.i am most concerned with kia acknowledging the huge safety risk....and the loss that i and others could experience with this safety issue.my vehicle was in great shape before this engine fire.

The contact owns a 2007 kia rondo. While driving approximately 40 mph with the accelerator pedal depressed, the vehicle jerked abruptly and the vehicle continued to move forward at a slower speed. The contact stated that the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the wheel speed and oxygen sensors failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

Got notice from kia about undercoating rusting brake line. How about the fact that i have a rusting oil pan which is leaking oil.

The contact owns a 2007 kia rondo. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 mph, the temperature gauge reading increased into the red zone with a constant noise of flowing coolant. The engine was turned off. The contact inspected under the hood and noticed that the engine had overheated. After waiting two hours for the engine to cool, the vehicle was driven cautiously and taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis where the radiator fan motor was replaced. The failure later recurred. The contact planned to take the vehicle back to the dealer. In addition, the stabilizer bar was faulty. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 99,000.

Our engine blew up- specifically, the crankshaft broke through the 3rd cylinder.vehicle was serviced by our kia dealership in the middle of march - oil/filter change and inspection.the next week we left on vacation to florida for a cruise.vehicle was stored at a long term storage facility for the week.about 10 hours into our return road trip, we checked the oil level.car was almost 2 quarts low.we added an additional quart.there is no indication on the dash that anything is wrong with the engine or the oil.we continued on our way.another 5 hours into our trip, we are driving along with the cruise control set.the engine starts making loud knocking noises,i am unable to disengage the cruise control even though i am frantically pressing the brake.the engine is revving louder and louder until we hear a loud bang and the entire car looses power.we are past our 100,000 mile warranty with kia.however, there are two factors at play here that can be contributed to the car damage:1.)the oil was low after only 2-3 weeks after an oil/filter change.i believe the service technician may have some culpability here by not adding enough oil or not tightening a cap, etc.it doesn't make sense that the oil was low.2.) i recently found out that there was a recall on the brake light for our 2007 kia rondo.that it may cause an inability to disengage the cruise control.in addition to my husband, we had another couple in the car with us who can attest to my frantic actions to disengage the cruise control.my online research has shown that kia had a major problem with blown motors.they no longer make the engine for our vehicle.to fix this vehicle, it would have to be retrofitted with a current motor.this is very expensive.obviously there is a reason why those motors aren't in production anymore.why haven't they recalled these engines?

About 3 months after i purchased my kia rondo i noticed that every time i filled the tank there was a problem.for the last 5 years i have replaced a sensor every year to turn the check engine light of due to this problem. After putting gas in my tank all hell breaks loose. The tank begins to gargle the has the car revs high n then low until it shuts off and if i can get it on again it will rev high n low again while driving until it ahuta off in middle of road while driving. I've learned how to manage it but i don't think that when a car costs you 15 grand u should ha e to deal with what i believe to be a defect in the car.

The contact owns a 2007 kia rondo. While driving 50 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. In addition, the vehicle accelerated on its own. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 100,100.

What am i to do about my transportation now that this engine is dead??? kia needs to answer for this.

The engine is faulty if they demand that only oem oil filters can be used otherwise engine will break and warranty will not cover it. My story:my 2007 kia rondo:so my check engine light goes on the other day. I take it my kia dealer and they say it's code 90011 - camshaft positioning sensor error. They tell me that there is a "kia bulletin" out about non-oem oil filters causing this error and that i should only be using oem filters. So, they change my oil and put on the new oem filter. They then tell me that should fix the problem, but if light comes back on to bring it back in. I left excited the light was off, and then i am not kidding - 1.3 miles later on the freeway home, all hell breaks loose in my engine! it threw a rod and oil spewed out everywhere.so, towed it back. They tell me how sorry they are. I tell them i still have 5k miles left in warranty. They tell me i need to show proof of all oil changes and bring them the receipts. I can only track down 9 oil changes for the last 5 years. I methodically changed the oil every 4k miles, many of them i did myself. Did i think to save the walmart receipts for oil and filters? noper.long story short, they denied my claim for the following reasons: 1. There is a "kia bulletin" that came out recently that says i should have only been using oem kia filters and i did not. 2. I could not produce enough receipts to prove that between self oil changes and otherwise were done every 3k miles.even if i did get the receipts, they don't sell kia oem filters at walmart or autozone, big o, etc.so i am left with $7k still owing on a car that needs a $5200 engine. God bless south korea!p.s.s. When the dealer first change my oil, they said the oil was really quite clean and could tell i take care of the engine!!

The fuel pump assembly stop working, it would only work long enough to get it moving then stall.this is a hazard because it can stall in the middle of the road.

Two times my engine died while driving in icy whether. This occurred when the wheels were spinning, it sounded as if some system was trying to stop the spin.the first time i was driving approx. 25 miles per hour on level ground. The second time, approx. Two to four weeks later also in icy conditions on level ground, incident occurred when driving in reverse. That time i intentionally applied the gas hard to test try to get the tires to spin, and the car died within one second of leaving park. I anticipate this will happen again and hope this does not happen during rush hour when i feel there is a high probability i will get in an accident if i am unable to pull off the road.

The contact owns a 2007 kia rondo. The contact heard a loud grinding sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the exhaust needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The grinding sound continued and the vehicle was taken to the dealer (south hills kia, 3644 washington rd, canonsburg, pa 15317) where it was diagnosed that the cradle and coil spring were rusted. The dealer did not inspect the vehicle to check for other failures. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was over the 60,000 mile warranty; therefore, they would not assist. The manufacturer opened case number: 12707877. The contact mentioned that the vehicle had been at the dealer since april 26, 2018, but had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 76,000.

My 2007 rondo has been acting up, will not start directly after getting gas.my check engine light is on.yesterday i did not get gas, however it stalled while i was driving and would not start as it does when i get gas.i fortunately was at an intersection.if it had stalled a little farther up the road i would have been rear ended as there was a car directly behind me. I have previously replaced the purge valve solenoid as suggested, no difference.why is the 2.7 rondo not recalled for this as the 2.4 engine was?

Ac compressor failure. I see several forum online of customers with the same problem. Compressor will run fine for 15 minutes then blows hot air. I took the car back once before directly after purchase because it made a lot of noise when the ac was running. They said it was 'normal'. It also blows a white cloud back into the car that trigger my asthma.

2007 kia rondo - engine pulley failure. Had started car, and was leaving a parking lot crossing 3 lanes of traffic and had no steering control. Vehicle has been assessed and is currently in repair waiting for a part. Had i been on a freeway, overpass, etc., especially with my children in the vehicle, this could have been catastrophic. Please investigate.

Air compressor bad causing overheating in passengers.

I like my kia rondo. I have had respect for kia and have recommended kia.no longer do i have respect for kia. They have lost a customer.kia did a recall back in 2009. I had the recall done on my car. Now i am having the same problem again. Kia will not fix the switch i need replaced. They told me they did it once and they are done. If i don't have an extended warranty, i have to pay for it out of my pocket.so wrong. They gave me 2 bad parts and now they don't care. Another car maker that i will not buy from.if the first time it's a safety issue that quote ?the malfunction of the stop lamp switch may put you at risk of a crash.?, why isn't it a safety issue the second time or when the problem persists?

Hello,i have a 2007 kia rondo lx 4 cylinder. From the day of the purchase the right front tire sometimes makes noises and during the rain the noise is more apparent. I took the vehicle to the dealer three times for this reason and they could not figure out what the issue was. Also once the esc light was blinking and i took the car to the dealer again and they were unable to find the problem. The esc sensor is going to be replaced next week. What concerns me is that i was informed that the brake lights may not illuminate when the brake pedal is depressed. Last year my car was hit from the back twice while it was at a stop position. In the second accident it was a hit and run, i was in a traffic on a highway and the other driver hit my car from the back. He screamed from his window "check your lights", now i understand that this accident could have been the result of the brake lights not working causing another vehicle to hit me. I was not able to find the driver and was forced to pay for the repairs myself. It cost me $1235.30, out of which $190.25 was used to order a back bumper and $10.68 for side bracket and $19.37 for right guard bracket and i paid to the zoom auto body shop(located at 240 n. Hill avenue, pasadena, ca 91106) $915.11. The first accident was similar and now i am wondering whether my vehicle's non-functioning brake light could have been the cause as well. That accident cost me $2461, lucky the other vehicle's owner's insurance paid for that. Both cases are still open.i was told to contact you, hopefully, you can assist me somehow.thank you for your time. Updated 02/04/10.

Had just bought the car from dealership, before i took car off lot, i noticed check engine light.returned inside and left car at dealership for 1 week and when returned, found out gas cap was cause.apparently after it clicks to show it's locked, it must be clicked a few more times to keep check engine light from coming on.i noticed 1 week later that when parking or emergency brake is depressed, the brake does not engage.called dealership and 1 week later adjustment was performed.i persuaded dealership to cover the cost since i had just bought the car from them 2 weeks earlier.

While researching trouble with my 2007 kia rondo i checked recall information.i noticed there was a recallnhtsa campaign id number:08v459000 for the exact symptoms my 2007 kia rondo with 55k miles has.

2007 kia rondoengine stalls for no reasonever since i have gotten this car the engine has stall on a number of times when at a stop sign or stop light for no reason what so ever.as the car is about to take off from stop the engine stall out. I have taken it in on a number of times for this and they tell me the check engine light should come on with any stall of the engine. No check engine light has ever come on! this has happened ever since they replace the transmission after 3000 miles when we got the car.

Yesterday, my "check engine light came on.then, i was on the highway and the car just stopped accelerating.i had to pull to the side of the road several times, to turn the car off and restart in order to get the car to accelerate.after several stops, the car just would not accelerate and i had to pratically drift home.

The following applies to my 2007 kia rondo with approx 36,000 miles on it. It has the v6 engine.my problem is a severe safety hazard in that the engine idle does not come down as the car stops and in some cases it races up. Unfortunately it is very sporadic and it has been to the dealer three times with them unable to duplicate it. This morning 4/18/2010 i came to a stop and the tach said 1500 and was actually going up. I took it out of drive and it immediately went up to 4000+ rpm (i was not even near the accelerator). It only seems to do this on cooler mornings when it is almost, but not totally, warmed up (4-8 miles) but once again very sporadic. It will go weeks without happening. The dealer suggested possible carbon buildup on the throttle body so i ran two bottles of fuel injection cleaner though it. Did not do it while this was done then happened again. The really bad part is there are no codes being given. My suspicion is throttle position sensor or speed sensor but the dealer said they checked them and they were within spec. This leaves basic program faults.i have documented my 3 trips to the dealer in case of later potential accidents and litigation. I don't know if others have experienced this but in traffic or being driven by someone without quick reflexes, it could cause a serious accident.it seems the only answer the dealer has is to leave the vehicle with them for as long as it takes to duplicate the problem (already left it there overnight once with no help).or pay for a special cleaning of the throttle body both of which are unacceptable. This is obviously a warranty item and they should fix it for free or if it has to be left with them for weeks then there should be a free loaner.i have also contacted kia customer service and so far they have been less than helpful with the first recommendation to call them from the dealership. When i did no one who could make a decision was there and they have not called back.

While researching trouble with my 2007 kia rondo i checked recall information.i noticed there was a recallnhtsa campaign id number:08v459000 for the exact symptoms my 2007 kia rondo with 55k miles has.

The kia rondo has a rather unusual fuel tank that is also a suspension part.my car had never been in an accident, i had not run over any debris, there was no corrosion--but the fuel tank failed at about 112,000 miles and at 7 years of age.*****i notice that other kias have had fuel tank problems and/or recalls.*****as a result of this failure, fuel was pouring from a leaky seam on the tank onto the ground, with resulting hazards to people and the environment.it took over a week to get another fuel tank; i don't know if this is because fuel tanks just don't fail, or if all the tanks in the supply system have been spoken for.*****i think maybe every rondo on the road should be recalled and the fuel tank replaced with one that will actually keep the fuel in the tank. Owners who have had to replace the fuel tank should be reimbursed.i contacted kia about this problem; they act like they don't understand why i am not happy with gasoline pouring out of the car on the ground.*****i no longer use the kia dealer, as they pull b.s. Stunts such as bringing out a dirty filter and wanting $80 to replace it.i have not been there since they did this exactly one week after charging me $80 to replace a filter.*****the mechanic at dobbs, a local change that replaced by fuel tank, told me in his whole career he has only seen 3 leaky fuel tanks.he stated that they were all on kia products.

I've had my vehicle since 11/2008. It was purchased used from a kia dealer. Although i knew it was a used 2007, it was not revealed until 02/2012 that there was more than 1 previous owner and that the back bumper was not the original. Overall the vehicle has driven well, but has 2 very specific quirks that truly need to be addressed by the manufacturer. I took the car in to the dealer regarding the 1st problem, which i see someone else on this site reported the same complaint; however, they told me that if it happens again to bring it back. It has been something that i've pretty much dealt with over the last 4 years, which is that sporadic/random starting/ignition or gas/fuel system issue in which i have to start and turn off the car several times before it will "rev" up and actually go/move. As another report stated, the driver had to "drift" home (or to a safe place to start back up again). There have been occasions where i thought it was good-to-go, but randomly lost its wind and i would have to go through the start/stop routine at least 6 more times to get moving. My 2nd issue is one of the seat belts in back does not always latch. If you pull real hard, it'll come undone, which is really scary especially w/ children. Like i said, this has happened many times since i first got the car back in 2008 and the mileage was much lower then. The mileage i reported here was notated on its last oil change.

I have 2007 kia rondo. I purchased this used in 2010. In the last 2 years i have had to replace my fuel pump 3 times. It just stops working. I have dealer parts on my car and keep track of all services done to my car. It will just stop pumping fuel even though it sounds ad if pump is coming on. This has to be a defect because i have never had to replace the fuel pump on 3 times on any car i have ever owned. This really needs to be investigated as i've just replaced it again on july 18,2016.

The fuel pump assembly stop working, it would only work long enough to get it moving then stall.this is a hazard because it can stall in the middle of the road.

Purchased a 2007 kia rondo from concord honda, concord, n.c. Sept.,2014. Vehicle had only approx. 56,000 miles on it. While driving car started jerking forward and back. While coming to a stoplight or stop sign and decelerating(letting your foot off the the gas pedal) the engine would stall, then you could start the engine right back up. Now at 75,000 miles car will not keep running everytime you stop.engine light has come on,extended start and no acceleration...when you push accelerator it does not accellerate. Had engine light code checked and dealer tech diagnose is that here again it is the the fuel pump!!!cost to replace is $650.00 plus tax...factory deffective....somebody wake up !!!!!

In april of this year my rear seat belt broke in half.this is the seat that my grandson's car seat had been going.luckily for me and my family he was not in the car at the time of this incident.i took the car into dorschel where i was verbally told that the belt was faulty and it was replaced.on april 21, 2011 i had to take the car back to the dealer because the same belt had broken again.one month later on may 25th, i had to take the car back to the car dealership for the driver seatbelt because it was not working.again, i was told it was faulty and they replaced it.i contacted kia who told me that there is nothing they could do for me.i have found that there are multiple kia owners that have experienced the same issue.does someone have to die before this is recognized as the serious issue that it truly is?

The contact owns a 2007 kia rondo. The contact stated that the seat belt was difficult to latch and once it latched it would come undone independently. Airbag light and passenger seatbelt warning light came on, symptoms similarto those described in kia recall campaign sc094. Kia was contacted and they advised that this vehicle not covered under the recall. I feel possible it is one of the affected models.

I have a 2007 kia rondo with a third seat.when not being used, a person belted in, the center seat belt in the last row, can fall between the 2 rear seats.there isn't enough room to easily return the seat belt to the usable location.when the seats are moved enough to move the seat belt to a usable location the plastic part of the belt latch breaks and renders the seat belt unusable.the manufacturer said that it is the consumers responsibility to repair the defect even though the car is still under the factory warranty.i will pay to have the seat belt repaired tomorrow but i'm still concerned that it will happen while i have my grandchildren using the seat.if it does then they will be unprotected in case of an accident.

The contact owns a 2007 kia rondo. The contact stated that the rear middle and passenger side seat belts would not latch properly and would retract abnormally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they advised the contact that the latch needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.

To whom it may concern:i work for the midwest city fire department as the public education specialist.i am a certified car seat technician with over 2 years of experience.on thursday april 23, 2009, i was helping put a car seat in the center rear seat of her kia rondo.after a trial run, i realized the seatbelt needed to be adjusted in order to accommodate for more room for tightening.i twisted the webbed portion of the buckle approximately 3-4 times to allow for more room to tighten the belt onto the car seat.i was taught this in my car seat technician class and it is a common practice that many car seat technicians use.after buckling in the latch plate, i began tightening the seat belt onto the car seat.once force was applied, a seam of stitching on the seatbelt webbing ripped apart resulting in the two sides of the webbing no longer being attached to one another.because of the uncertainty of the center seat belt, i advised her to put the car seat on the outboard position.please contact me if you have additional questions.

The contact owns 2007 kia rondo. The contact stated that the rear and front brakes failed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the brakes seized and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The failure mileage was 74,000.

2007 kia rondo. Consumer writes requesting reimbursement for vehicle repairs. *ldconsumer sent additional correspondence.*ldthe consumer stated the vehicle experienced rusted breaklines and a leaky oil pan. The consumer requested a reimbursement. Updated 10/05/2017

The contact owns a 2007 kia rondo. While driving 10 mph in the rain and making a left turn, the brake pedal was difficult to depress and the steering wheel failed to turn left or right. Additionally, while making a right turn, the failure recurred. When the vehicle was turned off and restarted, it resumed normal operation; however, the traction control and ecmwarning indicators were illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not contacted. The failure mileage was 94,000.

Brake lights failed and esc light will not turn off.

On 5-9-2012, it was raining heavily. My rondo, which drove fine the day before and the day after, started making a loud screeching noise and the steering became very "tight" feeling. I pulled off road into a parking lot, and when i did experienced total loss of steering control. I came very close to crashing into the parked car beside me as a result.i waited a few minutes, restarted the car. Pulling out of the parking space, my vehicle brakes engaged suddenly without notice, and my son and i were grabbed by our seat belts as our bodies were thrown forward so hard. I was blocking traffic so i restarted the car, and it drove ok on a straight road, but when i turned, again lost steering. When i say loss of power steering, i mean with all my might i couldn't get the car to go where i wanted.the rain stopped and i had no further problems until yesterday, 6-13-12, when it had been raining again.this time, pulling onto a busy road, moving quickly due to the approaching traffic, and again lost all ability to steer. Fortunately i was able to slam on my brakes and go in reverse to get out of the path of oncoming traffic, but had the circumstances been different, my young children and i could have suffered a catastrophe. Nhtsa had two similar reports with the 2007 rondo: internal sequence number #736xxx dated 8-23-09 and #749xxx dated 12/2/2009.i hope nhtsa and/or kia addresses this problem before someone is injured or killed."parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information (foia), 5 u.s.c.552 (b)(6).

Thank you

Purchased a brand new 2007 kia rondo 3 months ago.after the car has been sitting for 6 hours or longer the brakes squeal upon putting light pressure on them.took car to the deal and was told this is normal.

Thank you

On several occasions in the past month while driving, my kia rondo stops responding as i attempt to accelerate. It has caused me to block traffic and could cause a serious accident. I took it to a local repair shop and they were unable to diagnose the problem. At this point i am afraid to drive the car as i am afraid of causing an accident. There is another problem which has been occurring for several months-driving through a puddle or any standing water causes th car to screech and make a loud grinding noise and causes a total loss of steering. This happens every time the roads are wet. It is so unsafe that i never drive in less than dry road conditions.

The a/c line draines onto the front subframe.doing this i believe has caused it to rust over the years. Now it is not safe to drive for fear that the engine or front control will bring the car to a halt.it may cause a serious accident

I was in a car accident and i rear ended an at&t utility truck.

Door locks did not unlock with key fob or with manual attempt to unlock with key. Car was parked in a parking lot and locked, and i wanted to unlock it to get in and drive it away.

Check engine light keeps coming on code number p2a00

Sometimes, within the first few minutes of driving for the day, regardless of whether i'm driving 10 mph or 35 mph,the car will jolt backwards and lose all power, as though being turned off, caught from the rear, and then let go.it resumes forward but with much less power.more often, the car will simply not start. There is no clicking, no noise, no sputtering, nothing.the last time i noticed that all electronics... Clock, odometer, etc... Goes out, like there is no electrical power to be had.it will start eventually, but there seems to be no logic to timing.i've had the car inspected at one nationally known auto repair shop and at a kia dealership service center.neither place gave me any reason for the incidents i have described.internet research shows that both issues are a common problem with the kia make, and there doesn't seem to be a consensus on what the problem really is.both issues have been happening repeatedly for the past 2 months.

I was in an accident caused by unexplained and unexpected acceleration.while braking, and turning into a parking spot behind my office building, the car accelerated so quickly and unexpectedly the car jumped the park curbs and hit the building with enough force to break through the cinder block wall while only traveling approximately 10 feet. I went from coasting in with my foot on the brake at about 3-5 mph, to an open throttle full forward thrust, all the time i was depressing the brake.at some point the accelerator pedal broke entirely off. I can only assume that the broken accelerator caused the car to open throttle like it did.

The contact owns a 2007 kia rondo. While driving 73 mph, the brakes failed to disengage the cruise control when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact pulled over to the shoulder and turned off the vehicle. The contact mentioned that the gear shift lever was stuck in the drive position, but was able to shift into park by using a key to press the shift-interlock tab. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 13v114000 (exterior lighting, service brakes, hydraulic). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 86,250.

The contact owns a 2007 kia rondo. The contact stated that the engine would become resistant to acceleration attempts and enter into limp mode. The failure was experienced several times.the vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who performed a diagnostic and located the failure at the throttle body position sensor, as well as the accelerator sensor pump control module. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the vehicle was repaired. The throttle control and the accelerator sensor pump control module were replaced. I was driving down the freeway at 70 mph when my check engine light illuminated and i immediately lost speed control. My speed began a quick decent to 25 mph. The car would not pick up at all. I made it to the side of the road and turned off the car. I called my husband, he asked a bunch of questions and had me restart the car. The check engine light was still on, but the car accelerated normally so i headed toward home. It happened again. I pulled over, waited and restarted the car. My husband had me go to the auto parts store to have the code read. I have attached pictures of the printouts that include the codes and definitions.i looked up the issue and see across car repair forums that this is a widespread issue with kia vehicles. It's time for nhtsa to force a recall. Corporations would rather pay a wrongful death/injury fine than voluntarily make widespread repairs to mechanisms they know are faulty. Protect our interests; the safety of drivers, our loved ones, the roads and our livelihoods- if i can't get to work reliably, i won't have a job. Why should i have to pay for expensive repairs when the product is faulty across the board.force a recall.

My kia rondo's windshield wipers have failed 3 times in the last 8 months. They always fail during heavy rain and when they are on a high speed. I have replaced the windshield wiper motors. At this point the turning function of the wipers is visible at the ball and socket joint, but this does not translate to the wipers themselves. They seem to have difficulty lifting, if they will do so at all. And if they come back down it is with a loud thud.

The contact owns a 2007 kia rondo. There is a crack on the front windshield of the vehicle.it appears to be the exact shape of the vehicle defroster on the dashboard. The crack started on the bottom half of the passenger side and within six months it had expanded to the driver side.the crack goes along the front bottom of the vehicle windshield.the owners are concerned it may break orwater may leak through.they stated that there has been no sort of incident that may have started the crack and believe it is a manufacture defect.the vehicle has been to the dealership previously but the mechanic stated that the dealership would not be responsible for the repairs.the failure has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 13,000.the current mileage was 21,000. Updated 03/12/10. *ljupdated 09/21/10

Defective aluminum factory wheels - 2007 kia rondo ex.i was driving on a four-lane divided highway (u. S. Highway 11, southbound, 2 miles north of kinston, north carolina).speed was approx. 55 mph.i moved to the passing lane to overtake a tractor trailer truck.i immediately came upon some road debris in the passing lane and the tires on the left side of the car drove over some of it .none of it appeared larger than 2x4 lumber.the debris, probably items that fell off of a contractor's truck, bent both wheel rims on the driver's side letting the air out of the tires.i temporarily lost control of the car.i grabbed onto the steering wheel to stay on the road.i steered the car toward the right lane, and coasted until the speed came down below 25 mph.had i hit the brakes i believe the car might have rolled over.i pulled over and parked on the right side of the road and called for help.
