I was involved in a fairly serious front end collision and the airbags did not deploy. The impact was at the right front frame rail and corner. The impact was enough to push a full sized chevrolet pick up sideways approx. 6 feet. I was traveling at approx 35-40mph in a straight line when the truck pulled out straight across the road in front of me causing me to collide with it broadside at the trucks left front wheel area.
My daughter was involved in a front end collision, in which her air bags on her forte did not deploy.the impact was so significant that the bumper was split and the right side under body (frame) that meets the headlight assembly was bent!luckily, my daughter was not injured, as the impact was more on the right side. My daughter was traveling 45 mph, when she came upon a 96 jeep grande cherokee without brake lights, stopped fora turning vehicle. She applied her brakes but was unable to stop in time. Her kia forte, then went under the jeep grande cherokee causing damages in which totaled her car.

Driver ran red light at high speed and t boned me at intersection of 83rd cottage grove (chicago). Accident ripped my entire front end off my car and spinner my an entire 360 degrees and not one of my airbags deployed. I also have 2 videos that can detail the rate of speed at impact from a neighboring establishment.

The kia forte caught fire as my husband was driving down the interstate (the car was in motion). We had only had the car for just over a year. I am unsure what caused the fire however, the insurance reviewer advise that the fire started in the engine. My husband barley made it out of the car beforethe inside was completely engulfed in flames. She had almost no braking .. Had to drift car into nationwide kia.. Parking lot a few blocks from her work.. They had car for almost 2 weeks.. With no clue as to why for second time in a few days.same failures again.. Transmission felt and sounded like it was coming out of car...they said later they started it.. And only a.b.s. Was lit.. And when they restarted car a.b.s. Light was off.. With still no answer why it is failing.. Car is very very unsafe to drive.. We have lost all confidence in vehicle, .. It is a danger to my wife and public...we have notified.. Hagerstown kia.. Also kia corp. Hagertown kia.. Said it's not their problem.. With no regard for the safty of my wife.. Or the public..
The horn works then it don't work the car feels like it looses pressure as driving car just got 5/19/20.
When driving my car, my headlights are flickering/cutting off and on. I"ve talked to kia motors several times and have taken my vehicle back to the service dept at the dealership 3 times but the problem is not resolved. I know this is a safety issue and im afraid to drive my car at night. Please help me resolve this issue.
I went hunting and went to go back to my car at the end of the evening.my car was parked on a grass lane by a woods with the key out of the egnition. When i got to the car it was dark so i did not notice anything at first, but when i went to unlock my door and my keyless entry would not work. But my buddy noticed that my lights flashed as if it was working. I used my key to open my driver side door and was hit by a cloud of smoke. My whole door panel was melted along the speaker and half of the door. The fire was out by the time i arrived. Kia in lima wouldn't take any responsibility for the vehicle after a long drawn out process and poor communication from them, but my insurance companydeamed it an electrical fire. I do not have the paperwork at the moment but can have it available asap.
Brake lights stop working took it to the dealership they said they would fix the brake switch but i'm responsible for the bulbs and the relay and also have to wait until tuesday for the relay. What's the point of paying for a warranty
While driving 50 mph the dash board went black and the car powered completely down.

2016 kia forte clock spring failure. Horn doesn't function. Cruise control doesn't work from clock spring failure. The idle is out of control at times. Revs high while started but in park, sometimes not enough car dies. Possible no deployment of airbag. I read several other complaints of other kias horn not working they had to replace clock spring. Kia manufacturers need to send out recall. Kia please help fix this issue.

I have taken it to 2 kia dealerships 4 times total and the issues continue. Not safe to drive.

Low beams are dull not able to drive in the dark. Estimatedsight distance of low beam lights 200 ft. Passengers in my car ask if i have my lights on. On coming cars flash their lights as a signal to turn on my lights. I have to drive with highbeams after dusk for viability and for cars on the road to be able to see my lights. The electric dash board will not illuminate at times; having to turn off the car and turn back on multiple times for the dashboard to light up. The low beams are consent every time i am stationary, in motion, reverse, parked. The electric dashboard is when starting the car, stationary when at red lights with the break on.

Driving the car smelled a gas smell, then later a burning smell, then the car stalled, cranked it again it stalled again. Was smoking under the hood. Had just had this car oil change and multipoint inspection they stated the car was fine. Today they tell me it's engine failure. We were driving when the car stalled.

The plug was replaced and oil was added to the engine. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vin was not available. The failure mileage was 40,000.
While i was driving i lost power and the car would hardly move. I had to get it towed to the kia dealer. The tow truck driver informed me that his broy=ther had the same car and this happened to him also. He than told me there was a defect in the engine and since it is still under warranty the engine is cover. He also stated that after the 5 year warranty there will be a recall. This put me at some ease but i knew it was only here say. The dealer said it was my fault since i did not properly maintain it. I always get my oil changed and if i don't show proof it is not covered. I do not have all my receipt, the garages close to my house just put them on paper receipts with know computer record. The dealer is 10 miles further away than my local garage. I gave the keys to the kia dealer and told them to keep it. If its's under warranty with about 44,000 miles why isn't it covered.

I purchased t a kia forte september of 2017.i also bought an extended warranty. My car started having problems so i brought it into a mechanic who told her the engine was shot.i then called kia (gary lang - in mchenry) whom told her to bring it in and that according to the vin# they would cover it.when i got there, they told me again it would be covered andeven gave me a loaner to drive.3 days later they called her with bad news and said that it would not be covered unlesscould prove that it wasn't from neglect.i then produced 7 oil changes from two different shops as well as myyearly uber inspections (done by jiffy lube).i has been trying to work with kia's consumer affairs division as well.again i gave them all the documentation and they are telling me the same thing - they will not help with anything.
I purchased my 2016 kia forte in march 2017 used and since then i've been having suspension problems. May 2017 i had 3 alignments and i constantly been getting alignments and replacing my brakes and tires.august 2020 my car started to cut off while i was driving and acceleratewhen i tried to stop. My check engine code an ignition coils problem so i did a full tune-up and oil change in september. But it didnt fix the problem so after that my car code an intake failure. I had it repaired in october but it still didn't fix the problem and on top of that the pistons in the engine started grinding. I took my car back to the shop and they said that i need a whole new engine. Now my car been sitting every since the beginning of november.

I was sold a 2016 kia forte with a bad transmission and the dealership cancelled my warranty the year that i bought the car i was not aware that they cancelled it until i found out my transmission was bad and went to the dealership to try to have them fix it and they told me the warranty was canceled. I spoke to a mechanic and they told me that a lot of people are having the same issue with their 2016 kia forte's. I bought this car in order to get my son to his specialists he has spina bifida he needs to see a neurologist, orthopedics, urologist, etc over an hour away now my transmission is completely gone and i don't know what to do because i can't afford the repair. Please recall this car. I know a lot of people who have transmission issues with their kia's my mother for example back in 2010 she purchased the kia rio it was brand new at the time and a year later the transmission went bad on it every kia transmission seems to be a hunk of crap i shouldn't have to deal with these repairs
My oil keeps on burning fast .. I had to get oil test fromkia dealer but they didn't find anything wrong with the engine and no leakage. Couple months later my engine is burning my oil fast before even oil change. This is not normal. The motor will make a cluster sound while at the stop sign. Uncomfortable sound all of the sounded.

I picked up my car from the kia service departmentin downtownlos angelesafter being there for an engine replacement 4 months. I was driving it home and it started smelling funny in the fwy. I pulled over and everything seemed fine i drove 10 miles more then all this smoke started coming out and the car stalled in the middle of the fwy. It didn't turn on anymore and it started jerking off . I added water and it just leaked through the bottom. I had to push it out of the fwy and call a tow truck again.

Vehicle is unsafe to drive cuts off in the middle of driving while in traffic. Vehicle doesn't accelerate, it slows down while driving causing other vehicles to have to decelerate or go around to avoid hitting me. This is a serious safety issue and need to be investigated by kia as soon as possible before a collision happens with my children in the car. This has happened more than one time.
Went to get an oil change 5 months after purchasing this car a d there was metal shavings in the oil. Mechanic said this type of engine was notorious for this and we would need a new motor very soon. No check engine light or anything so we had no idea this was happening. The motor locked up around 74,000 miles while driving down the highway. This doesn't seem fair at all! first car loan i've ever taken and can't even drive the car or afford a new motor, yet still making my payments on the loan...

Also when refilling oil there is a white substance on the dipstick when checking the oil levels. When it loses power while in motion the electronics dim or flicker. This have been on going for about 3 weeks now. This is an apparent engine failure like other forte's.
Notice my lights would go on & off on dash board during g day times thinking car had dimming effects, then notice when the car was off & lights should be off they would stay on. Then i would be sitting outside look at car & lights would just come on by themselves. The worst i was trying & headlights & insides lights went off while i was driving and continue to do so. I'm scared for me and my family safety. I dont even want the car anymore and sometimes smells like there's electrical burning or something dont know how to explain it.
"takata recall". My headlight wiring on the driver side keeps melting and blowing the bulbs which are not cheap. Hadit fixed several times but it is still happening. This is a fire hazard to me and it should be recalled.

I bought a brand new kia forte 2016 on 5/27/2016. Since day one, i've been facing a problem that i think is a big safety issue.when driving the car at regular speeds, the car suddenly loses acceleration and even if i hit the gas pedal, nothing happens for 2-3 seconds and after 2-3 seconds, the gas pedal starts to respond. This has landed me into problems at various times and i almost went to an accident. 1. Once i was changing lanes while driving at 45 mph, and all of a sudden the acceleration of the car dropped and i felt certain that somebody would hit me from the side because my car just won't accelerate.2. Once driving at 50 mph, the car suddenly dropped acceleration and the car behind me came so close that i feared that it would hit me. Fortunately the other car driver realised my dropped accleration and slowed down.incidents like #2 have happened many times and i have taken the car to a kia dealership(gerald kia of naperville, il) but they simply told me that there was nothing wrong with the car because they couldn't reproduce the problem.this problem is intermittent and i don't know of a sure fire way to reproduce this problem, but someone has to believe me that it happens all of a sudden in the middle of the road and it really scares the heck out of me.since the car manufacturer and the dealership is not helping me at all, i want to bring this problem to the attention of the us government.i really feel that this is a big safety issue for me and my family and i don't feel safe at all while driving this car. I spent my money on a brand new car but the car manufacturer and the dealer are not ready to help me. My family members have also driven this car and they can also testify.please help me with this problem. I don't have enough money to buy a replacement.

The vehicle of concern reportedly had been parked all day in a parking lot at work with the doors locked and in park. At the end of the day the vehicle was remote started from inside the building approximately 20 feet away. The vehicle started and then a few seconds latter it apparently shifted into drive and then accelerated into the outside of the building located approximately 10 feet away. The incident was recorded on the building security video which shows that no one entered or exited the vehicle before or after the crash occurred. It also shows that the vehicle startedand then rolled forward into the building. The edr was imaged by the e-n-k-01-00-0027 tool and no events were recorded.

My kia forte has a hesitation in acceleration from any speed below 50mph.it is especially bad between 10mph and 35mph.it takes the car between .5 and 1.5 seconds to respond to a press down on the accelerator pedal.this has come close to causing me to have an accident on a few occasions when the car just would not go when commanded to do so.i have had it looked at three times by two different kia dealers and one time with a kia field service rep. Kia took over six months to respond to me with there ridiculous answer which was "your car operates as it should".i have owned may cars and have never owned one that had any noticeable throttle response delay.this kia has a big delay in the transmission downshift and start to accelerate after pushing the accelerator pedal way down.

Brake lights stop working took it to the dealership they said they would fix the brake switch but i'm responsible for the bulbs and the relay and also have to wait until tuesday for the relay. What's the point of paying for a warranty
While setting in parking lot with car in park and engine running, multiple instrumentation failure,anti slip, tire pressure, a.b.s. Check engine light, regular braking light, engine miss firing... Rough shifting, was able to limp car to closed kia dealer.. On a sunday night.. They kept car 3 days.. Could not find why car has multiple failures..they called kia engineer .. Still had no clue as to problem.. Finally..said they cleared 2 codes from computer.. Car ran good .. For 2 days..then when wife was driving to work in lutherville md. Again multiple failures.. She had almost no braking .. Had to drift car into nationwide kia.. Parking lot a few blocks from her work.. They had car for almost 2 weeks.. With no clue as to why for second time in a few days.same failures again.. Transmission felt and sounded like it was coming out of car...they said later they started it.. And only a.b.s. Was lit.. And when they restarted car a.b.s. Light was off.. With still no answer why it is failing.. Car is very very unsafe to drive.. We have lost all confidence in vehicle, .. It is a danger to my wife and public...we have notified.. Hagerstown kia.. Also kia corp. Hagertown kia.. Said it's not their problem.. With no regard for the safty of my wife.. Or the public..
I purchased my 2016 kia forte in march 2017 used and since then i've been having suspension problems. May 2017 i had 3 alignments and i constantly been getting alignments and replacing my brakes and tires.august 2020 my car started to cut off while i was driving and acceleratewhen i tried to stop. My check engine code an ignition coils problem so i did a full tune-up and oil change in september. But it didnt fix the problem so after that my car code an intake failure. I had it repaired in october but it still didn't fix the problem and on top of that the pistons in the engine started grinding. I took my car back to the shop and they said that i need a whole new engine. Now my car been sitting every since the beginning of november.
Most recently i was driving on a rural highway when the engine stopped for no reason...i lost the ability to steer, all electrical dash lights were malfunctioning,i turned the key to an off position and waited...after a minute i was able to start the car.
When traveling over 60-65mph on a highway i notice the vehicle pulling one way or another. Feels as if the steering wheel is too loose and the tires are too easily swayed right or left. Feels as though i have minimal control of the vehicle and have to concentrate on keeping the wheel straight. Also shaky when the vehicle is idling
2016 kia forte clock spring failure. Horn doesn't function. Cruise control doesn't work from clock spring failure. The idle is out of control at times. Revs high while started but in park, sometimes not enough car dies. Possible no deployment of airbag. I read several other complaints of other kias horn not working they had to replace clock spring. Kia manufacturers need to send out recall. Kia please help fix this issue.
When i hit between 60-80 miles my car starts pulling and feels like the alignment is not good. I had the alignment done still doing the same thing i don't like the way it feels and sometimes i feel like i will get pulled over because it appears i'm swerving. On highway and as long as driving between 60 - 80 .

Too much accleration on the open highway.the screws in my visors keep coming out.i was only given a donut tire upon purchase.the paint on the car is so cheap i'm seeing scratches all thru the paint on my car.
The kia forte caught fire as my husband was driving down the interstate (the car was in motion). We had only had the car for just over a year. I am unsure what caused the fire however, the insurance reviewer advise that the fire started in the engine. My husband barley made it out of the car beforethe inside was completely engulfed in flames. The car was a complete loss it was hardly recognizable once the fire department was able to getthe fire out.
I was involved in a fairly serious front end collision and the airbags did not deploy. The impact was at the right front frame rail and corner. The impact was enough to push a full sized chevrolet pick up sideways approx. 6 feet. I was traveling at approx 35-40mph in a straight line when the truck pulled out straight across the road in front of me causing me to collide with it broadside at the trucks left front wheel area.
Takata recall, door cover to the gas capsnapped off, cover broke at the hinge (inside the compartment) , now, in order to release it you must use the release lever, plus partial prying of the cover itself. Car was stationary, at the fuel pump

After my 5k mile oil change,this was the first oil change.i had to take it back because of a loud ticking sound. I overheard the service suprv say that there was a defect on fortes. But, he tried to tell me that nothing was wrong until i told him what i heard him say over the walkie. Then, they kept the car and changed the pulley system. Now, here's another problem.not sure if it's related to the pulley issue.1st time, i wasdriving on the hwy going about 70mph in 6thgear and it popped out of 6th to neutral. I looked down because i didn't know what happened.i quickly put it back into 6th. 2nd time. February 23rd 2017 i was driving 75 mph on i-20passingredoak, tx and the gear popped out of 6th into neutral.scared me, i immediately shifted it back to 6th. I made an appt the next day after the 2nd incident and wad told they couldn't duplicate the problem.if it gets worse to bring it back.it did it again on that sunday, march 5th 2017 while i was driving 75 - 80 mph to louisiana. Car cuts off while driving all warning lights will cut on the car slows down then comes to a stop. There is no warning when car is about to shut off. Does not lose power but wont let me accelerate. This happens while driving on main roads and streets, freeway. The vehicle starts back up immediately. According to kia dealerships there is nothing registering that is wrong with the vehicle when placed on there diagnostic machine.
Driving on major highway during rush hour and all of sudden car lost power and dashboard lights up.was fortunate thati was able to steer to the side of the roadvery dangerous situation!!!

From day one that i got my car i noticed that there is a hesitation when trying to accelerate, you can push the gas pedal and nothing happens until you advance the pedal further and then it wants to take off like you pushed it to the floor. It will loose power during driving if under 45 miles per hour. When in traffic, it is very dangerous because trying to creep with the car it will not do anything when you softly push the pedal, and will try and take off when you advance it. Almost rear ended the care in front of me because of this. This is a very problematic situation as well as dangerous.standing still or in motion this continues to happen city and highway

I bought this car in order to get my son to his specialists he has spina bifida he needs to see a neurologist, orthopedics, urologist, etc over an hour away now my transmission is completely gone and i don't know what to do because i can't afford the repair. Please recall this car. I know a lot of people who have transmission issues with their kia's my mother for example back in 2010 she purchased the kia rio it was brand new at the time and a year later the transmission went bad on it every kia transmission seems to be a hunk of crap i shouldn't have to deal with these repairs
The horn works then it don't work the car feels like it looses pressure as driving car just got 5/19/20.

The vehicle of concern reportedly had been parked all day in a parking lot at work with the doors locked and in park. At the end of the day the vehicle was remote started from inside the building approximately 20 feet away. The vehicle started and then a few seconds latter it apparently shifted into drive and then accelerated into the outside of the building located approximately 10 feet away. The incident was recorded on the building security video which shows that no one entered or exited the vehicle before or after the crash occurred. It also shows that the vehicle startedand then rolled forward into the building. The edr was imaged by the e-n-k-01-00-0027 tool and no events were recorded.

I bought a brand new kia forte 2016 on 5/27/2016. Since day one, i've been facing a problem that i think is a big safety issue.when driving the car at regular speeds, the car suddenly loses acceleration and even if i hit the gas pedal, nothing happens for 2-3 seconds and after 2-3 seconds, the gas pedal starts to respond. This has landed me into problems at various times and i almost went to an accident. 1. Once i was changing lanes while driving at 45 mph, and all of a sudden the acceleration of the car dropped and i felt certain that somebody would hit me from the side because my car just won't accelerate.2. Once driving at 50 mph, the car suddenly dropped acceleration and the car behind me came so close that i feared that it would hit me. Fortunately the other car driver realised my dropped accleration and slowed down.incidents like #2 have happened many times and i have taken the car to a kia dealership(gerald kia of naperville, il) but they simply told me that there was nothing wrong with the car because they couldn't reproduce the problem.this problem is intermittent and i don't know of a sure fire way to reproduce this problem, but someone has to believe me that it happens all of a sudden in the middle of the road and it really scares the heck out of me.since the car manufacturer and the dealership is not helping me at all, i want to bring this problem to the attention of the us government.i really feel that this is a big safety issue for me and my family and i don't feel safe at all while driving this car. I spent my money on a brand new car but the car manufacturer and the dealer are not ready to help me. My family members have also driven this car and they can also testify.please help me with this problem. I don't have enough money to buy a replacement.
When you push gas feed it hesitates then you push a little more it goes to fast. Driving in town traffic is a problemyou push gas feed a little it doesn't want to go give a little more gas and it goes to fast. Went back to dealer ship only had the car around 2 months they put new throttle body on, still had same problem. Vehicle is unsafe to drive cuts off in the middle of driving while in traffic. Vehicle doesn't accelerate, it slows down while driving causing other vehicles to have to decelerate or go around to avoid hitting me. This is a serious safety issue and need to be investigated by kia as soon as possible before a collision happens with my children in the car. This has happened more than one time.
The vehicle will accelerate on its own when driving at highway speeds. When driving in town, it will not accelerate after idling such as at a traffic light.

Purchase kia forte 2016 ex on 11/2016....all four of the tires form bulges on eachtire...which the tires to blow out on the highway. My first pair of tires located at the rear blew out in 03/2016 which cause me to purchase brand new tires.....my most recent tires was the front tires...which i a blowout in occurred on the highway in 09/2016

Emergency warning light for tire pressure comes on and stays on despite tires being balanced and aired properly by service technician.light came on while vehicle was in motion on highway.

The belt in the drivers rear tire separated having to be replaced being under 3 years old this is not the only 2016 kia forte lx this has happened to i've read several complaints on the internet that has happened to other owners
