My air bag light came on 4/19/2016 and have been on since then. I only had my car one month i have never been in an accident nor have my car every been in an impacti had it look at by a merchanic and he said that's dangerous and can pop out at any time so i should have it fix as soon as possible. This car should be on the recall list!!!
Air bag lights been on n i've called kia several x nothing resolved then i get into a accident was t boned and no air bags deployed which is huge safety issue. Please fix with a recall.
Air bag light will not go off. Dealer cannot find any reason why. Air bag is fine, must be a bad sensor somewhere, but they cannot find it.
Air bag light is lit without an accident or mishap. I see others on line are having this same issue and have taken it to dealer and spent $175 cost to find out the airbags work fine.
Air bag light has to be continually reset, parts had to be replaced some spring. Light now is back on had it in again and now saying airbag is defective and needs to be replaced.
Since purchasing my 2005 kia amanti air bag light has been on; the vehicle has never experienced an impact which would cause the airbags to deploy neither have any of the airbag components ever been tampered with.the throttle control of the vehicle is extremely sporadic and often causes hesitation, lurching, no acceleration, and even loss of all power.i have had the dealership update the ecm and the tps replace but the problem still persisted.i noticed the throttle body plate was extremely difficult to actuate so i then purchased another throttle body and replaced my older one. Everything functioned as should be expected up until approx. 3 months ago the issues started back up again.i noticed the throttle body motor had started to become increasingly hot to the touch indicating an excessive amount of resistance within the motor circuit.being that the problem is recurring, i feel the issue is located either within the engine wiring harness or the engine control module and it, as well as the ruined throttle body motor, need replaced at the cost of the kia motor company.the issue can, and has, caused numerous accidents, stalling in heavy traffic as well as lurching and speeding away of vehicles.a major safety issue is present and needs to be addressed.
Ever since i have owned the car, the airbag light has been on and does not go off until the car is off.the rpm gage has always been erratic when driving at normal speeds.the car lurches forward when at a stop light and while accelerating.the engine smells as if wires are burning and it seems increasingly hot, but the gage stays normal.the gas tank cannot be filled quickly, i have to trickle gas into the tankbrake pads wear down constantly.i have already filed a complaint about the brake light switch being defective and this should be addressed before someone gets killed.

I had a side impact, tbone with a kia soul whom hit me in the side. Neither his aiebags oe my airbags deployed
On march 20th i when i tern on my kia amanti 2005 i saw the air bag light got on. I never had any accident on my car.please solve this issue s soon as possible.

The manufacturer was notified and referred the contact to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 134,029.
The contact owns a 2005 kia amanti.the air bag light continuously illuminates on the instrument panel.the contact had the vehicle repaired five times, but the dealer stated that nothing was wrong with the vehicle.the dealer advised him to disregard the light because the air bags were still working.the parts were covered under warranty.the failure mileage was 17,522 and current mileage was 22,000. Soon after start up, i pulled out of my drive way and proceeded to turn onto the street and i had no power for about 2 seconds, then it goes full out. This has happened 8 or 9 times. I have been very disappointed with the dealer. They are clueless. I have been back 6 times for an airbag light on the dash and it is still on. Headlight went out and had to go back 3 times for that.
2005 kia amanti. Consumer writes in regards to defective airbag sensor *tgwthe consumer stated the defective feature was the sensor that controlled the air bags, which was installed within the bottom portion of the passenger seat. When the sensor malfunctioned, a warning light displayed on the dashboard stating "airbag". The consumer stated the first time the air bag light illuminated, the dealer found a problem with the steering column. The remedy lasted for a short time. The second time, the air bag light illuminated, the consumer was informed the problem was a defective sensor which was located in the bottom of the passenger seat. The sensor in the passenger seat controlled the driver's side air bags and the side air bags. The consumer stated kia sent him a letter outlining the restrictions and constraints regarding the use of the air bag system and how it can malfunction.

I began to notice that my car was" jumping" at stop lights on a city street; as if it wanted to accelerate when the brake was pushed.i went to start it one evening and the battery was completely dead.i got a jump and then noticed that the brake lights would not turn off.i had a friend check the brake light switch the following day and he stated that the switch was so loose that it fell into his hand. He tightened the switch so i could try and put a charge on the battery. I got the car started but the battery would not hold a charge,i installed a new battery and the car still feels as though it wants to accelerate when pressing brake to stop.since then, i have noticed that the door ajar and trunk open lights do not work as well as the interior courtesy lights when the door is opened.i have also had problems in the past with not being able to get the car out of park.i have replaced the ignition switch as well as other components. I had issues with the dimmer switch when the lights are left on auto, and i use the fob to lock the doors; if i do not turn the lights off manually; the lights flash until the battery dies. After the last issue with the brake light switch, i also can not open the trunk with fob, i can only open with the key in the ignition and set to on position.it can not be opened from the outside as well.when it is cold outside, below 40 degrees, the radio scans and will not stop. The cd will only work if only one disc is inserted.

Vehicle was unsafe to drive as it made misfire and the fluids in vehicle were all missing from each tank. The salesman denied me the right to test drive or opportunity to replenish missing fluids,advising vehicle is as-is. I explained i drove 60 miles one way and was not told the vehicle was as -is or in such terrible condition. Manager refused to assist me or speak with me as i would complain. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it remained for thirty days for investigation. The ecm was replaced. A few weeks after the repair, the failure recurred. The mechanic stated that the replacement part was faulty. The vehicle was in the process of being repaired for the second time. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 49,814.

It began with squeaky noise steering it ended with steering completely locked up undrivable. Mechanic said he saw that alot in that year model. Replaced the steering pump worked ok for 6 months or so & the same thing. Had to tow it. Mechanic said needed to replace the entire rank & pinion & that it may or may not correct the problem . He did some kind of adjustment charged me $250 & i was able to steer. 6 months down the road its doing the same thing esp light comes on a dragging noise& troubles steering. I notice itmore maneuvering to park in a space...
I think the radio isotope electric generator was removed from the car. The heat and air conditioner were not kicking on and it also caused the battery to die. We thought it was the alternator. I didnt know it was electric. Also the co2 and year gas were removed and not sure if any firearms were. This was 'the beast' i believe. I received a call from "mike" he mentioned i should add it to my current insurance plan but i told him i only had obamacare. Get my diamond jubilee back please!
I absolutely love this car. However, i am afraid to drive it most of the time do to intermittent problems with acceleration. At times, when i step down on the gas nothing happens, then all of a sudden the car takes off like a rabbit. On a trip to south dakota, after using the blinker to change lanes, the blinkers went crazy, both on at the same time, then from one side to the other, i couldn't get them to stop and the esc light was flashing. I pulled over and shut the car off and back on and all was good ,for a few more miles anyway. I had to do thisseveral times on my wayhome. This was scary as i was 1500 miles from home. Haven't had that issue since and that was 4 months ago (no engine light for codes at this point). Now, all of a sudden the car is running like crap. Engine light finally came on and the code is stating misfire in #3 spark plug. The car is running very poorly, undriveable. I have had nothing but issues with this car since i bought it a year ago. I have read changing the throttle positioning sensor and updating the computer software may be what's wrong. However, trying to convince kia to do this is another ball game. There is also a high priority recall on thestop lamp switch, recall #sc077. Also see technical service bulletin #kt2007030801. There are numerous complaints about the acceleration issue, some involving accidents. Why wont kia acknowledge this and offer a recall on the tps and a reflash on the computer??? all we get is the run-a-round and the shop not hearing of such a thing. Really???? come on!!!!!

I have had several incidents where my vehicle accelerated almost causing an accident.i have been to the dealer three times and twice they have replaced the speed sensor.the third time they said they could not duplicate the problem.
I purchased my kia from jd byrider in 2016 of july and i have had a real deal with this car. In the pass 4 years with this car i have poured more than $5,000 into this car into it. Every time you get this car fixed it has a new problem about 1 month later or the check engine light comes on. But recently my wife was driving her mother and my daughter around shopping about 10 miles in distance from the house the mall and driving store to store. It was 93 degrees outside and she had the a/c running and suddenly the car started to have sudden acceleration she tried to stop the car and it did not stop the engine keep revving up harder harder and harder. At this point she was able to turn back into the parking lot after getting off the main rode. This car is a danger to people driving it and others near this car should not be on the street i repeat this car should not be on the street. I am glad my family is safe but i will trading this car in soon and i hope the rip it up and tear it to pieces for parts because it could have ended my families life. For me and my other love ones to very see them again. Get this car off the rode please. This is the third time this has occurred i could't do anything because jd byrider sold me overpriced junk $12,000 worth of it and add the repairs on top. I refuse to keep driving this car or have my love ones drive that car.
Engine loses power as though accelerator cable broke, also on start up car often lurches forward as if in gear. Took car to kia today and they state it is a known problem with their electronic accelerator hose, the housing that connects it to the engine melts and is no longer clipped to the engine often causing power loss because the connection is tenuous. The only fix they said would be to replace the part, but the cheap plastic they use will still melt and break off, causing another replacement needed in the future.

My battery keeps draining. Im having an issue keeping it running or even starting it up. May be having starter issues. Also my air conditioner and heater are not coming on. Radiator problems.
When driving the engine suddenly quits, the car jerks, and the accelerator does not work.i have to coast to the side of the road and restart the car.this is a huge safety issue since there is no warning before this happens.another issue is the engine revving upon starting.i have to hold the brake firmly because the car will intermittently lurch either forward or back without warning.i have also had the car try to lurch forward at a stoplight.i have to keep the brake firmly depressed since it is an intermittent problem.i cannot believe this model has not been recalled.it is a definite danger to driver, passengers, and others.i have read many complaints online with regard to this problem, but still no recall.i would participate in a class action suit.i talked with the dealer and kia and they are no help.

On numerous occasions since i bought car in 2006 ,the car suddenly slows to 10-15 mph, you get no response from the gas pedal, then suddenly lurches forward at full throttle. Every amanti owner i have spoken with has this issue! a driver could be easily involved in a fatal incident with this issue. This also occurs upon startup when parked. If there is a car in front of you in a parking lot, you would hit it. One owner said he had the control module "flashed" and it solved his problem. Could we please get some action on this?kia is well aware of the problem. I tell the service advisor about it every time i'm at the dealer.i will file a giant lawsuit if i'm involved in an accident and survive. I'm in on a class action suit if anyone has one going.
Sudden acceleration. I was slowing for a traffic light i expected to turn red. I had my foot on the floor boards, away from the accelerator, letting the care slow by itself. The light did turn red and i had to apply the brakes. I keep my left foot to the left of the brakes on the floor board. As i applied the brakes with my right foot i felt my left foot so i knew i applied the brakes. Car accelerated. Only putting the transmission i neutraland flooring the brake pedal with both feet prevented a wreck. No warning lights came on.in october of 2011 the dealer replaced ignition coil; packs spark plugs and spark plug wires. However on 5/7/12 the problem returned- worse than ever before the car finally stopped tachometer reading was 4700 rpm. Doctors often ask patients to rate pain open a scale of 1-10. This incident would rate an 8. Please issue a recall before more people experience this and could kill people.or a buyback for what the buyer paid including all loan fees and interest..i also request a federal directive requiring all cars to have brake overrides and for a free retrofit of all car models with a history of this problem. I have only 68,000 miles on the car and 66,800 when i bought the car.

In addition, the contact stated that the front and rear brakes failed to operate. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the technician stated that the vehicle was operating as designed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The newer high intensity headlights should be done away with!in order to continue driving on the freeway at night when a vehicle equipped with those bright headlights is approaching in any lane, i must put my left hand & arm up to shield my eyes.i find those lights to be blinding as soon as that car comes into view, even a mile or more down the road.what kind of advantage does it give that other driver to see an extra 50 yards down the road, if it causes someone to have an accident on the other side of the road??!the hid lights are dangerous to other drivers!even with my rearview mirror deflected for glare, those lights are far too bright & when a car with hid's is sitting on my 'shoulder', i have to turn both my rearview mirror & side mirrors down so i can continue to drive.and, yes, i slow down & let them go past me, but just want to let you know my opinion & request that hid's should be hid for good, in the trash!

Car jerks uncontrollably when proceeding from any stopped position..the car jerks causing great potential for a fatal accident. It only happens on hotter days.. Ridiculous kia dealership in thornton, co wants me to only fill the tank up half way to avoid this problem, this car is under full warranty & was only 3 months of use before first reported problem. They call it "vapor lock" which sounds ridiculous.. It isn't vapor lock.

On window sticker states car should average 17 miles per gallon city, and 25 miles per gallon on highway. Over a nine month test which i kept a record of date, total miles on car, miles driven, total gas to refill tank, and miles per gallon the best mileage we got was 14.51 city. The best overall mileage was 17.55 miles and that was a trip to the coast. We took the car to the dealer and he claims that there is nothing wrong with the engine. This is my wife's car and we do not drive it that much because of the price of gas. We were misled by the window sticker and we feel that the nhtsa should make the manufacturer state the correct findings on mileage for this car. I am caught between a hard place and a rock for my wife likes the car and i feel it is a piece of crap.

The contact owns a 2005 kia amanti. Gasoline began to spill out from the fuel lines located near the driver's side rear tire while the contact was refueling the vehicle. The failure recurred whenever fuel was added to the vehicle.the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was told that the in-tank valve was stuck in the open position, allowing fuel to exit the vehicle.the vehicle was repaired.approximately 18 months later the failure recurred.the vehicle was not taken back to be repaired.the failure mileage was 45,094 and the current mileage was 58,000.

Bought this car used in december 2017 and within the first weeks of driving it noticed erratic problems when driving over 40mph. On the highway it has problems frequently with increasing speed when accelerated, especially on an uphill incline, and when i'm stopped/ sitting still, it tries to backfire. If i'm driving the speed limit and have to slow down due to speed limit change or slowed vehicle in front of me, when i try to pick up speed again the rpms won't go up enough to do so; i can be doing 40 mph and floor the accelerator and rpm stays at 2000 until i the car suddenly decides it wants to drive, then rpm jumps up to around 3200 rpm and the car picks up speed again and rpms drop back to normal at 2500. On uphill inclines, the car starts losing speed without breaking and accelerating doesn't increase that speed. I've had it in two different ships; on replaced the plugs (saying it was missing), and the other found a bad coil they replaced. Ood thing is that after each repair, the car behaves and drives good for a week or so, then the same problems occur again. Engine light hasn't come on at all, and i question if it even works as i don't even see the symbol light up when i start the car; i only know it has one from seeing the symbol when the sunlight shines directly onto that gauge. Maybe that's broken so it doesn't indicate there's a problem; heck if i know. The safety issue here is that highway minimum speed is 45 mph, so when vehicle losses speed or won't speed up, others could run into me nor realizing how slow i'm going.really strange that even the repair shops don't really know what's wrong with it. I've kept checking for a recall on this problem, but none had been issued. I've already spent $700 trying to remedy this problem and truly cannot afford to continue to pour money into the car trying to fix the problem just to have it be reoccurring/misbehaving.
Ever since i have owned the car, the airbag light has been on and does not go off until the car is off.the rpm gage has always been erratic when driving at normal speeds.the car lurches forward when at a stop light and while accelerating.the engine smells as if wires are burning and it seems increasingly hot, but the gage stays normal.the gas tank cannot be filled quickly, i have to trickle gas into the tankbrake pads wear down constantly.i have already filed a complaint about the brake light switch being defective and this should be addressed before someone gets killed.

Twice within 2 miles when i applied brakes engine sped up instead. The only thing preventing two accidents was putting the car in neutral till it settled down.
Shortly after getting the car, it intermittently would fail to accelerate when the accelerator was pushed.by pushing it all the way to the floor it sometimes would then accelerate excessively, or by letting up on the accelerator and reapplying it a similar event would happen. Sometimes the car just muddles along very slowly in traffic until one of the above actions is taken, and sometimes pushing to the floor still does not make it accelerate.this has occurred in traffic at times causing an unsafe event due to surprise when expecting to clear traffic etc.early on it was returned to dealeron at least two occasions for lengths of several days each time and we also involved company reps, but they offered no solution but said it seemed to be fine.car continues to act up and notice that others have complained of a similar event on a website we monitor.
I absolutely love this car. However, i am afraid to drive it most of the time do to intermittent problems with acceleration. At times, when i step down on the gas nothing happens, then all of a sudden the car takes off like a rabbit. On a trip to south dakota, after using the blinker to change lanes, the blinkers went crazy, both on at the same time, then from one side to the other, i couldn't get them to stop and the esc light was flashing. I pulled over and shut the car off and back on and all was good ,for a few more miles anyway. I had to do thisseveral times on my wayhome. This was scary as i was 1500 miles from home. Haven't had that issue since and that was 4 months ago (no engine light for codes at this point). Now, all of a sudden the car is running like crap. Engine light finally came on and the code is stating misfire in #3 spark plug. The car is running very poorly, undriveable. I have had nothing but issues with this car since i bought it a year ago. I have read changing the throttle positioning sensor and updating the computer software may be what's wrong. However, trying to convince kia to do this is another ball game. There is also a high priority recall on thestop lamp switch, recall #sc077. Also see technical service bulletin #kt2007030801. There are numerous complaints about the acceleration issue, some involving accidents. Why wont kia acknowledge this and offer a recall on the tps and a reflash on the computer??? all we get is the run-a-round and the shop not hearing of such a thing. Really???? come on!!!!!
Sudden acceleration. I was slowing for a traffic light i expected to turn red. I had my foot on the floor boards, away from the accelerator, letting the care slow by itself. The light did turn red and i had to apply the brakes. I keep my left foot to the left of the brakes on the floor board. As i applied the brakes with my right foot i felt my left foot so i knew i applied the brakes. Car accelerated. Only putting the transmission i neutraland flooring the brake pedal with both feet prevented a wreck. No warning lights came on.in october of 2011 the dealer replaced ignition coil; packs spark plugs and spark plug wires. However on 5/7/12 the problem returned- worse than ever before the car finally stopped tachometer reading was 4700 rpm. Doctors often ask patients to rate pain open a scale of 1-10. This incident would rate an 8. Please issue a recall before more people experience this and could kill people.or a buyback for what the buyer paid including all loan fees and interest..i also request a federal directive requiring all cars to have brake overrides and for a free retrofit of all car models with a history of this problem. I have only 68,000 miles on the car and 66,800 when i bought the car.

I read about recall on 2007 kia amanti and the stop lamp switch. It said could make it hard shift from park to gears. I own a 2005 kia amanti and yesterday afternoon after driving several hours with no problems,i started it out in reverse it was a semi hard shift then put into drive and it was a extremely hard shift. As well the check engine light came on. I also read about a software update that can be done but can not find how to preform the update.

My 2005 kia amanti has a problem as when driving it will lurch and lag "bump".it has been in the dealers shopmany times for atotal of 38 days.the dealer did replace the transmission with a rebuilt unit.the problem still exists and the dealer says he cannot duplicate the problem. So he cannot fix it.a web site has many complaints of this nature and the same problem exists; the dealers cannot duplicate the problem; so they cannot fix it.a mechanic at the shop said that kia knows they have a problem; but does not know how to fix it.the problem occurs when backing out of a parking space and when the car is driving at about 40 mph.the lurch has occurred at stop signs and causes the car to jump and if i had not beenalert i would have hit the car in front of me.the same problem occurs when backing out of a parking place and the rear view is blocked by the vehicle and if a peron or vehicle is in the blind spots; injury could occur.
Several times, including today the car has jumped forward or backward in reverse when putting it in gear without stepping on the accelerator.it has occasionally moved very slowly after being put into drive as if the transmission was in fourth gear.then when pushing further on the gas pedal to get it to move it will suddenly jump into first and take off.visits to the service area were fruitless due to their not being able to duplicate the event.therewasapparently nothing stored in the computer, yet it kept happening to us.it was severe enough to cause an accident.there wasa problem with kia's drive by wire system, and it should be fixed before someone would be injured.
For @ 6 months the car jerks when i am driving. When i press the accelerator it will do 2-3 jerks that are strong enough to jerk you forward in your seat. It feels as if the car has forgotten what gear it is in and it is searching to find it. Or you could describe it as though it is not getting fuel where it is needed even when you have had even pressure on the accelerator. This has mainly occurred while doing about 40 mph going up an incline but it has also occurred on level driving areas while doing around 40 mph. Most recently the car has been jerking in top gear. I have taken it to the dealer 3 times. Just yesterday i picked it up from the dealer who had it for a whole 7 days!! they were able to recreate the problem but can't figure out what it is because it doesn't register on the obc. They had me do a $450.00 maintenance on it to see if it would help and of course it did not. They said they reprogrammed it but that did not help either. Due to this problem, i have either been without a vehicle for days or have had to rent a very costly rental car for a whole week. The dealer claims they took the car to their residence to test drive it, (approx. 80 miles) but when picking the car up yesterday they were rude enough not to replenish my fuel. When i asked them about it they said it was necessary to do the road tests. As a consumer with a car still under warranty they should have replaced the gas and pay for my car rental. But there has been no help with this situation at all. Now i am scared to drive my car and i depend on it for my profession.
The vehicle has had sporadic problems with 'jack rabbiting', when pressing the accelerator pedal.with a light touch to the gas pedal, the jars literally jumps forward.in each case, it takes about three touches to the gas pedal, to get to 'normal driving.it is a fast acceleration, which causes the tires to 'screech' sometimes and the car to jump forward.the second item that started happening is that the car appeared to be stuck in first and would not shift.the car would not accelerate.this has now caused me to also get run over twice, due to not being able to accelerate.another problem appeared yesterday.i applied the brake and the car would not immediately stop.the engine revved up, not fast, but it was enough to keep the car moving for a short distance, before it stopped.it scared the hell out of me.i have never experienced something like that with a vehicle.
I never know when my car will start jerking.the car will run fine then out of the blue when i am backing up the car will start jerking. I put it in drive and press all the way on the gas -but there is no power. I press again and the car will start jerking . I have brought it back to the dealer three times,even left it there for 3 days but they are unable to duplicate the problem. This problem has happened more than two dozen times. There is no warning when it will happen. I almost hit a car twice when i was backing up- you are powerless and you can not control the jerking.i pulled out in traffic and the car behind almost hit me because the car would not go.i sure heard his horn blasting at me. There is also a blue flash of light on the dashboard when driving at night. It is a quick flash-then it is gone.i have also brought the car to the dealer about this problem - they can't duplicate it. Something is drastically wrong. I wrote to kia- but did not receive an answer.
I bought my 2005 kia amanti in oct 2005. On four occasions when going from reverse to drive.....a hesitation took place and the car would not accelerate until the accelerator is pushed all the way down....then the car would accelerate at top speed. If this ever happened in traffic could cause injury or death. I began to notice that my car was" jumping" at stop lights on a city street; as if it wanted to accelerate when the brake was pushed.i went to start it one evening and the battery was completely dead.i got a jump and then noticed that the brake lights would not turn off.i had a friend check the brake light switch the following day and he stated that the switch was so loose that it fell into his hand. He tightened the switch so i could try and put a charge on the battery. I got the car started but the battery would not hold a charge,i installed a new battery and the car still feels as though it wants to accelerate when pressing brake to stop.since then, i have noticed that the door ajar and trunk open lights do not work as well as the interior courtesy lights when the door is opened.i have also had problems in the past with not being able to get the car out of park.i have replaced the ignition switch as well as other components. I had issues with the dimmer switch when the lights are left on auto, and i use the fob to lock the doors; if i do not turn the lights off manually; the lights flash until the battery dies. After the last issue with the brake light switch, i also can not open the trunk with fob, i can only open with the key in the ignition and set to on position.it can not be opened from the outside as well.when it is cold outside, below 40 degrees, the radio scans and will not stop. The cd will only work if only one disc is inserted.

Bought a 2005 kia amanti in athens, georgia on 02/22/2006. Test drove three different cars. When i applied the brakes the whole car would vibrate. Over the next week after i bought the car it got worse. Took it back to the dealership and they had to replace all four rotors. Was told that they bent because the car was sitting on the lot for an extended period of time. Thats a first! it seems all amantis are having the same problem.

Replaced the steering pump worked ok for 6 months or so & the same thing. Had to tow it. Mechanic said needed to replace the entire rank & pinion & that it may or may not correct the problem . He did some kind of adjustment charged me $250 & i was able to steer. 6 months down the road its doing the same thing esp light comes on a dragging noise& troubles steering. I notice itmore maneuvering to park in a space...
Dealer replaced, the knuckle, control arm, and rack in pinion, every 15,000 to 20,000 miles the same sound comes back. The sound is back again, and getting louder and louder, sounds like the front end is coming apart. Still have problems. Kia refused to buy car back.

The contact owns a 2005 kia amanti. The contact stated that the molding around the windows failed. The vehicle was taken the to the dealer for inspection where they advised that the molding would have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and they stated that there was nothing that could be done to assist. The failure mileage was 80,000.
Sudden acceleration. I was pulling my kia amanti (which i love) into a parking stall in a very crowded supermarket parking lot. I was braking to stop when my car accelerated. I did not notice the rpms. But it accelerated hard, and my foot on the brake did not stop it. I plowed into the back of a vehicle in the opposite stall pushing it approx 10 feet before my car also hit10" cement pole that was there to protect a powerplant (i think) at the edge of the parking strip. The pole stopped my car.there was a couple in the car i hit and a passenger in my car; everyone was badly shaken, but nobody was hurt. If there had not been a pole there my car might have gone on pushing the vehicle i hit until it hit another car or, god forbid, a pedestrian.
The shocks of the trunk failed causing the very heavy trunk to close suddenly hitting me in the head.

The front left wheel cane off.while driving.they said that they can not fix it because the frame is rusty and rotten. This is the second time this has happened same side and wheel. This happened on a city street both times. After they fix it the first time and$ 799.76 , they could have told me what the problemwas. Then.the car was in motion..
The driver side front sub frame is severely cracked and rotting away. Attempting to clean uncovers road filth and rocks. This is an obvious metal quality defect.

Just 2days ago my car started jerking real bad and also my transmission felt like it was stalling and the car was loosing acceleration power.then after a short hesitation the vehicle,while backing in the driveway accelerated and was hard to stop.today i noticed a small tremble in the transmission and my car almost went in traffic if i had'nt put the vehicle in neutral and applied force to the brakes,my vehicle was in motion on both incidents,i'm not afraid of my vehicle, but i don't want to cause or be in an accident.

Clear coat on my kia amantiis peeling off. This clear coat problem first started on my front bumper and after a long inspection of the entire car my clear coat is coming off of nearly 200 little different spots. I have written complaints to kia america and have submitted complaints online and i have never, never heard anything back. I took my kia amanti to the local dealership and their explanation was it was bird poop. I seriously doubt and kia can not prove that what is happening to my vehicle is the result of bird poop. I tried to show the manager at my local kia dealership the exact same problem with the brand new 2006 kia amantis that have no miles on them and his reply was, i am sure that all happened when they were ship here but he never would let me show him.
I think the radio isotope electric generator was removed from the car. The heat and air conditioner were not kicking on and it also caused the battery to die. We thought it was the alternator. I didnt know it was electric. Also the co2 and year gas were removed and not sure if any firearms were. This was 'the beast' i believe. I received a call from "mike" he mentioned i should add it to my current insurance plan but i told him i only had obamacare. Get my diamond jubilee back please!

Failure to move or accelerate from a stop, has happened approx 7 times in the last six months. Dealer can not find the problem,the car is at the dealers now because this problem occurred twice in the past week.
I have had several incidents where my vehicle accelerated almost causing an accident.i have been to the dealer three times and twice they have replaced the speed sensor.the third time they said they could not duplicate the problem.

On numerous occasions since i bought car in 2006 ,the car suddenly slows to 10-15 mph, you get no response from the gas pedal, then suddenly lurches forward at full throttle. Every amanti owner i have spoken with has this issue! a driver could be easily involved in a fatal incident with this issue. This also occurs upon startup when parked. If there is a car in front of you in a parking lot, you would hit it. One owner said he had the control module "flashed" and it solved his problem. Could we please get some action on this?kia is well aware of the problem. Sudden acceleration. I was slowing for a traffic light i expected to turn red. I had my foot on the floor boards, away from the accelerator, letting the care slow by itself. The light did turn red and i had to apply the brakes. I keep my left foot to the left of the brakes on the floor board. As i applied the brakes with my right foot i felt my left foot so i knew i applied the brakes. Car accelerated. Only putting the transmission i neutraland flooring the brake pedal with both feet prevented a wreck. No warning lights came on.in october of 2011 the dealer replaced ignition coil; packs spark plugs and spark plug wires. However on 5/7/12 the problem returned- worse than ever before the car finally stopped tachometer reading was 4700 rpm. Doctors often ask patients to rate pain open a scale of 1-10. This incident would rate an 8. Please issue a recall before more people experience this and could kill people.or a buyback for what the buyer paid including all loan fees and interest..i also request a federal directive requiring all cars to have brake overrides and for a free retrofit of all car models with a history of this problem. I have only 68,000 miles on the car and 66,800 when i bought the car.
Incident 1: while driving at 60mph on an interstate the cars speed reduced to <10 mph then stalled followed a sudden acceleration. Computer replaced problem persist....incident 2:(1 month later)upon initial acceleration, the engine stalled and operated at a reduced speed followed by sudden acceleration without warning into traffic. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who was unable to duplicate the problem but suggested that it might be the throttle motor. Throttle motor replaced butthe problem persisted. The manufacturer was alerted on both occasions. Now i am deadly afraid of driving this vehicle.

Ever since i bought my 2005 kia amanti, i've had issues with the acceleration, lack of acceleration.i took it to dealer when it was still under warranty to let them know sometimes it had no power on initial take off and i would have to just drive it as is until it decided to accelerate properly.other times i will begin driving from a complete stop and it feels like it just has a tremendous amount of power with the acceleration.i never reported the quick acceleration - i just figured it was the v6 engine, since i've always had a 4- cylinder engine.now the dealer is claiming i need to replace my throttle body and that it is a $900 part.i have not experienced a car accident due to this problem.
Pulled out into a busy intersection - car crawled - did not respond to acceleration - lurched quickly into traffic almost causing an accident.drove further down the road at 40 mph, car acceleration died almost completely, service engine light came on.i pulled off road, called my local kia dealer from whom i bought the car.they were no longer handling kia, had to have car towed an hour away and was told the throttle wire assembly was cleaned out and repaired.this was in january, 2008.february 2008 i took car to shop to have brakes checked - tech took it out for test drive.when he came back he asked if it had a problem with severe hesitation.i told him it was fixed last month (under warranty).he said he pulled into busy traffic twice and the vehicle failed to accelerate, almost causing 2 accidents.i drove the car back to work, acceleration failed once again and check engine light came on and stayed on.going to have to have it towed an hour away for them to look at it again - meanwhile i'm without any form of transportation ( cannot get loaner)once it's fixed i will have to pay someone to drive me an hour away to pick it up!they need to figure out the problem - i have seen numerous complaints on the internet about this. It's causing me to be paranoid about even driving it, not knowing when it might happen again!
As i pulled up to park my car behind a parked car, my car surged and crashed into the back of the parked car.i was easing into the space at a very slow speed and actually had my foot on the brake.the motor suddenly revved up, i felt the surge, stood on the brake pedal, but was unable to control the car.although damage was minimal, i was concerned about another occurrence driving the vehicle and had it towed into the dealership.the service advisor said they have never heard of an incident like this with the amanti.there are many reports of these unexplained acceleration incidents with the kia amanti online.hopefully these people are reporting them to you.if this had happened while trying to stop at a crosswalk for pedestrians, someone would have been seriously injured.at the consumers request, the component was revised to speed control. 05/10/11
Just 2days ago my car started jerking real bad and also my transmission felt like it was stalling and the car was loosing acceleration power.then after a short hesitation the vehicle,while backing in the driveway accelerated and was hard to stop.today i noticed a small tremble in the transmission and my car almost went in traffic if i had'nt put the vehicle in neutral and applied force to the brakes,my vehicle was in motion on both incidents,i'm not afraid of my vehicle, but i don't want to cause or be in an accident.
I have an '05 kia amanti.this car has a "sudden acceleration" causing the car to speed forward when applying the brakes.i have been in two rear-end collisions in the last year and have not been in an accident in over 30yrs prior.i have had the car taken to sentry kia to be repaired but, they just say, they cannot duplicate the problem - so there is no problem.i know differently.i am afraid to drive this car.there have been many complaints on the kia forum and other sites about this problem with the '05 kia amanti - yet kia will not do anything for me.they force me to drive this weapon on wheels.i am beside myself as to what to do - i am afraid of hitting a pedestrian or even a child through the fault of the vehicle and not my driving!!
Bought this car used in december 2017 and within the first weeks of driving it noticed erratic problems when driving over 40mph. On the highway it has problems frequently with increasing speed when accelerated, especially on an uphill incline, and when i'm stopped/ sitting still, it tries to backfire. If i'm driving the speed limit and have to slow down due to speed limit change or slowed vehicle in front of me, when i try to pick up speed again the rpms won't go up enough to do so; i can be doing 40 mph and floor the accelerator and rpm stays at 2000 until i the car suddenly decides it wants to drive, then rpm jumps up to around 3200 rpm and the car picks up speed again and rpms drop back to normal at 2500. On uphill inclines, the car starts losing speed without breaking and accelerating doesn't increase that speed. I've had it in two different ships; on replaced the plugs (saying it was missing), and the other found a bad coil they replaced. Ood thing is that after each repair, the car behaves and drives good for a week or so, then the same problems occur again. Engine light hasn't come on at all, and i question if it even works as i don't even see the symbol light up when i start the car; i only know it has one from seeing the symbol when the sunlight shines directly onto that gauge. Maybe that's broken so it doesn't indicate there's a problem; heck if i know. The safety issue here is that highway minimum speed is 45 mph, so when vehicle losses speed or won't speed up, others could run into me nor realizing how slow i'm going.really strange that even the repair shops don't really know what's wrong with it. I've kept checking for a recall on this problem, but none had been issued. I've already spent $700 trying to remedy this problem and truly cannot afford to continue to pour money into the car trying to fix the problem just to have it be reoccurring/misbehaving.

We have had our 2005 amanti into the dealership several times with complaints of "sudden acceleration" or jack rabbit type of starts. This problem has caused several near misses, but no wrecks so far. Each time we are told by the dealer that they can not duplicate the problem and no repair is made. The last time we took it in, we contacted the factory to get them to help. They kept the car for 4 days and still have not replicated the problem. This problem only occurs once or twice a month, so it is not surprising that the mechanic could not replicate it. The dealer tells me that kia will not let them do any repairs unless they can duplicate the problem. I verified this talking to kia factory customer service representative. Their plan is to do no repair unless the problem becomes constant. Needless to say, i feel this leaves my driving family in a potentially dangerous position.

When driving the engine suddenly quits, the car jerks, and the accelerator does not work.i have to coast to the side of the road and restart the car.this is a huge safety issue since there is no warning before this happens.another issue is the engine revving upon starting.i have to hold the brake firmly because the car will intermittently lurch either forward or back without warning.i have also had the car try to lurch forward at a stoplight.i have to keep the brake firmly depressed since it is an intermittent problem.i cannot believe this model has not been recalled.it is a definite danger to driver, passengers, and others.i have read many complaints online with regard to this problem, but still no recall.i would participate in a class action suit.i talked with the dealer and kia and they are no help.
Driving on interstatein my 2005 kia amanti and the car accelerated on it's own. Car speed increased and then just stopped. When i restarted the car, it started but when placed in drive car was completely immobile. Brought it in to kia of kenner and was told that the throttle needed to be cleaned. Problem fixed, so i thought...next incidentwas driving and completelylost power in the middle of a busy intersection. Got the car towed to kia of kenner the said that computer module needs to be replaced..not this problem has not been resolved as of yet..
My 2005 kia amanti has an intermittent problem with the accelerator, after backing up, when the car is put into drive and the gas pedal depressed, nothing happens. They say they have never heard of this problem, although if i google "amanti accelerator problems" i find dozens of complaints about this.my dealer insists that until they can duplicate the problem at the dealership there is nothing that can be done.i am concerned that this may cause an accident and would like to get this fixed, if i only knew how.
While driving it acts like its not getting fuel so i took it to the parts store they put a code reader on it i have the print out im attaching but its very dangerous it just loses all power especially if u pull outto get out of somewhere ive almost gotten hit 6 times now cuz of iti was pulling out of my road turning on to a major highway n it didnt stall but its like it wasnt getting gas at all n the car was at a stop n taking off to pull out it also does it mid gears while driving down the road great car but issue could cost someone there life or to be seriosly hurt for life this needs to be recalled im 41 & ive drove all kinds of messed up cars in my past but this is the 1st time ivecame across this kind of issue where contacting the dealership doesnt fix it n its not the car owners fault this is bad wiring under the throttle position actuator system n a very rxpensive problem to find & repair n not do to wear n tear of the vehicle so gar its costed me over $500 just to track down the problem im notputting no more $ into thiscar it was a gift for my sons bday b4 my mom passed this year she bought it new n then gave to me she loved this car it makes me sad to have to remove it from the road but i feel as a mom its better this way than to lose someone i love cuz of it i would sue the hell out of kia n win theres problems with this it needs to b resolved asap
My amanti was barely rolling as i pulled into a parking space. However, the moment i depressed the brake pedal, the car took off like a rocket! i looked down at the floor to be sure that i was stepping on the brake pedal and i was!when i realized the car had already taken down a sign and its pole, i thought perhaps the brakes had failed, so i stepped on the brake pedal even harder but the car continued to accelerate until it was out of control and taking me through a mass of pompous grass and out the other side into an empty strip of land. After going through the pompous grass, the car spun to the left towards the tree lined parking strip. I panicked not knowing where the car was going to take me next or how i could stop it. Suddenly it occurred to me that perhaps if i could turn the key off, it would shut the engine down. I prayed that it would work and thank god it did. As soon as the car came to a stop i got out of the car, shaking and crying. Other than being towed for diagnosis, the car has not been driven since. Ceo of kia in korea did not acknowledge letters, manufacturer in us does not acknowledge problem, and dealer will do nothing! we are paying for this car and are unable to drive it! it's unsafe! we now have it in legal process.
The vehicle has had sporadic problems with 'jack rabbiting', when pressing the accelerator pedal.with a light touch to the gas pedal, the jars literally jumps forward.in each case, it takes about three touches to the gas pedal, to get to 'normal driving.it is a fast acceleration, which causes the tires to 'screech' sometimes and the car to jump forward.the second item that started happening is that the car appeared to be stuck in first and would not shift.the car would not accelerate.this has now caused me to also get run over twice, due to not being able to accelerate.another problem appeared yesterday.i applied the brake and the car would not immediately stop.the engine revved up, not fast, but it was enough to keep the car moving for a short distance, before it stopped.it scared the hell out of me.i have never experienced something like that with a vehicle.
I purchased my kia from jd byrider in 2016 of july and i have had a real deal with this car. In the pass 4 years with this car i have poured more than $5,000 into this car into it. Every time you get this car fixed it has a new problem about 1 month later or the check engine light comes on. But recently my wife was driving her mother and my daughter around shopping about 10 miles in distance from the house the mall and driving store to store. It was 93 degrees outside and she had the a/c running and suddenly the car started to have sudden acceleration she tried to stop the car and it did not stop the engine keep revving up harder harder and harder. At this point she was able to turn back into the parking lot after getting off the main rode. This car is a danger to people driving it and others near this car should not be on the street i repeat this car should not be on the street. I am glad my family is safe but i will trading this car in soon and i hope the rip it up and tear it to pieces for parts because it could have ended my families life. For me and my other love ones to very see them again. Get this car off the rode please. This is the third time this has occurred i could't do anything because jd byrider sold me overpriced junk $12,000 worth of it and add the repairs on top. I refuse to keep driving this car or have my love ones drive that car.

The front left wheel cane off.while driving.they said that they can not fix it because the frame is rusty and rotten. This is the second time this has happened same side and wheel.
