Iota its-50r transfer switch failure :center lugs over heated and began to melt, melted wiring at terminal and melted unit cover. Had i not been home, or asleep,it would have burned the whole camper down, possibly resulting in injury or death!
Ourselves and our neighbor began smelling propane for about a week outside of the rv. Rv service tech inspected it and we were told that it is a known problem with the fittings and regulator between the two propane tanks. Rv service tech said he has replaced many such fittings and had notified keystone whom gave him no response. He also asked his supervisor to file a complaint but was unsure if has ever been reported. Our 7 gallon propane tank leaked entirely empty in less than two weeks, we were switched to our other propane tank while the other was leaking. We are shocked and surprised with that much propane leaking that we did not have and explosion. It cost us $80.00 to be repaired to a safe condition.
On september 7 2016 i was traveling west on i 64 at aprox. 4:00 pm in traffic just after mile 19 i herd a loud bang and saw debris flying off of the right side of my rv.i pulled on to the shoulder and discovered that the entire tread on my right rear tire had separated causing damage to the right wheel well and knocked off the valve stem from the right front tire leaving me with 2 flat tires. I always use a tpms and at the time of failure that tire was at 85 psi and a tire temperature of 109 degrees. After getting home i inspected the tire and found the following 2 splits on the side wall about 4 inches apart running from bead to bead, an area of old rust on the steel belts, and a fare amount of unbond of the rubber from the steel belt also the steel belt was broken in a straight line 90 degrees to the tread.my rv is stored indoors so there is no uv damage and when not in use i keep it off of the ground on blocks.
