While drivingelectric switch on the bottom ofmotorcycle caught on fire.
Wires connectors that attach the regulator/rectifier and stator melted.white smoke was emitting from under the rear seat.after removing the seat, i notice that oil was present in the area surrounding the regulator/rectifier and one of wires had burn loose.this also caused the junction/box headlight relay switch to fail.i received a $175 equipment failure ticket.fortunately it was about 6:00 pm and still light out.i call the locate kawasaki dealer to see if there were any recalls.i had to cut wires to the regulator/rectifier, stator and solder/crimp, because the connector was badly damage; there wasn't a good connection being made.i also had to replace the junction/fuse box, because it housed a relay that operates the lights.old parts are available.
