While on my 2008 kawasaki vn2000 on my way home from work on hwy 285 the rear of the bike locked up causing a brief skid almost causing me to crash into the wall in the median .the bike was stuck in the left lane .after rocking it back and forth by hand it unlocked the wheel and i was able to push it off to the left side against the wall .georgia hero unit responded to my accident he had blocked the hwy 285 off allowing me to get to the right break down lane safely .i had the bike towed to primo motorsports in snellville ,ga the told me the problem is not in recall and the transmission gear had locked up because the teeth on the gear was stripped off and little pieces of metal shaving had jammed the gears.causing the bike to skid .i look on the kawasaki forum and found out that i,m not the first person that this has happened to .i fear that if i was unable to maintain control of my bike that this could have been a fatal accident .kawasaki motorcycles should have this part recalled but they don't and knowing that this is ongoing problem it needs to be address before someone gets killed .legal matters need to be taken to prevent further problems
