The bike completely went dead while riding.it turned out to be a wire in the wiring harness was rubbed through the insulation where the wiring harness runs under the fuel tank causing the master fuse to blow.if this would have happened on a busy road at night i could have crashed or been run over.there have been many reports of chafed wires in the same location on the vulcan forums.

2010 kawasaki 1700 voyager abs.the engine intermittently stalls when clutch is disengaged while coming up to stop sign or stop light.this stalling usually occurs within 5 minutes of starting motorcycle, however it has also happened at normal operating temperature.the starter needs to be used to restart motorcycle after stalling.this is a safety issue as a stalled motorcycle leaves the rider vulnerable to other vehicles on the road.this is a very well documented issue among riders of this motorcycle and kawasaki has been contacted.there is yet to be a fix to the problem.the cooling system on this motorcycle is also undersized, causing the motorcycle to run extremely hot and cause fatigue and uncomfortable riding conditions for the rider and passenger.kawasaki states this is normal engine operation.

The engine stalls intermittently while riding which creates a very unsafe situation for the rider.while riding the motorcycle if i pull in the clutch the engine rpm's will start to fall and sometimes the engine shuts off requiring a restart.this happens intermittently whether the engine is cold or hot.

2010 kawasaki vulcan voyager 1700 abs. The motorcycle intermittently stalls while slowing down, example pulling in the clutch while approaching a stop sign the engine will stall.

The cooling system on the motorcycle is undersized thus causing the engine to run too hot which leads to rider fatigue and overheating of the motorcycle thus leading to an unsafe condition.the manufacturer has been contacted regarding the problem but holds the position there is no problem.

2010 kawasaki vulcan voyager 1700 abs. The motorcycle intermittently stalls while slowing down, example pulling in the clutch while approaching a stop sign the engine will stall. This happens primarily within about the first 5 minutes of starting the engine, but has also happen when the engine is at normal operating temperatures. The motorcycle will generally restart as soon as the clutch is let back out however if speed is to slow use of the starter is necessary to restart the motorcycle. The motorcycle has been in the shop several times and has had several excuses (computer) in it. Kawasaki had a factory service representative perform diagnostics and computer swaps, however, the problem has not been remedied. This stalling issue is a major safety issue as stalling during slow speed operation of a motorcycle leaves the operator very vulnerable to other traffic as well as motorcycle instability. A number of forums on the internet have also described this problem, see below.http://motorcycles.about.com/od/kawasaki/fr/2010-kawasaki-vulcan-1700-voyager-abs-review.htm http://www.vulcanforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8811http://www.vulcanforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=2b454f52f4bf10b370ead813f45b8a0c&t=8811&page=2http://www.vulcanforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=69258 http://www.smartcycleshopper.com/motorcycle-reviews/2010-kawasaki-voyager-1700/http://www.vulcanforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=65025 http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum/kawasaki-touring-sport-touring/126297-engine-turning-off-itself.html http://www.vulcanforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=66210it appears kawasaki has an ecu computer / program problem that they are not willing to admit to and/or trying to rectify in a timely manner.
