The autopark sensors, ( park collision warning), in my 2020 jeep wrangler randomly triggers and engages autopark. The false triggers randomly occur when the vehicle is in reverse. The condition occurs at very low speed after the brake is touched. The false triggers occur during daylight or night conditions. Once autopark is engaged the vehicle will not move. The engine must be turned off and sometimes the autopark switch must be turned off before the vehicle will move. There is usually no object within 15 feet of my vehicle to trigger the autopark sensors. I videotaped some of the occurrences using my cell phone. The jeep service department is not able to diagnose the problem. In addition, the false triggers are not creating system log entries to prove the event occurred. Jeep servicedepartment will not use my videos as evidence the event happened. Jeep service will not escalate the problem unless their service department can recreate the condition. Vehicle wobbles over 70 mph speed limit is 75. Gets worse over un even road of speed bump at any speed. Feel like the whole jeep is going come apart. Also while driving the screen just glitch every 10-second. It gets worseusing carplay

I purchased this vehicle on 30 october 2020. I drove for 38 miles total. On november 1st at approximately 02|:30 a.m. The vehicle caught after being parked for more than 15 hours. Total mileage on the vehicle 131 miles.

On 8/3/2020 with 300 miles battery is dead. On 8/13/2020 took to dealership and found nothing. 8/13 engine died at a signal and radio shuts down. Jeep is fine for 9 days without engine light on. 8/24 engine light returns on.8/25 engine dies at a signal, and the radio shuts down. While on the freeway, battery lights, abs, and traction/stabilizer lights come on. The power steering goes out, and was hard to steer. The heater comes on via defrost vents blasting hot air and unable to turn off. Power acceleration goes out. Very scarey and dangerous. All lights are flashing on dash panel and the car is dies. Jeep towed to dealership. On 8/27 the technician tried to charge batteries for one and half hours on 1st attempt with no success. Technician said battery severely discharged and they could not retrieve information. On 8/31 after hours on a charge on the 2nd attempt, the batteries charge and technician cleared all codes technician drove it a couple of days (mileage is now 670) and because no codes returned "on", says the jeep is fixed. On 9/3 we pick up the jeep. The next day 9/4 new panel lights come on for the parksense system. The dash panel says to wipe clean. They are clean. The turn on/off button light continues to blink.opened a case # 77098337 with jeep care on 8/31 and have had no help and sent detailed documention and videos of the problems. The cause is definitely electrical with the batteries not being able to hold a charge.we are in fear of driving this jeep and being stranded somewhere remote and have what happened to us happen again ending in an injury accident or death because of the loss of power to steering and acceleration.extremely dangerous.we thought the jeep was going to catch fire because of the heat coming out of the vents.please help!i have videos but cannot upload here so took screenshots from the videos.

Took my jeep wrangler in for service to address a serioushighway speed over steering issue. At freeway speed you can not hold the jeep into a curve with drifting out of the radius of the curve. This forces a slight correction which over correctsthe other way.i also have my premium sound left speakers cutting out periodically when driving.

Had it for less than 2 weeks (was brand new, purchased with only 43 miles) and decided to take it on a fall road trip. Halfway through our road trip (about 100 miles in) engine started 'jumping' and 'heaving' while in cruise control on the highway at 65 mp; then woudn't accelerate at all, and speed started to decline. Was very near an exit, so was able to coast in to a gas station.electronic throttle control error code + service engine lights were lit.attempted to turn off an on several times, hoping this was just some kind of glitch, but after multiple attempts it woudn't even stay started. While in park, after pressing "start" engine just kept jumping then automatically would shut itself off.our whole family stranded hours away from home.under 500 miles and it had to be towed in to the nearest dealership where it's been sitting for almost a week now and they still have absolutely no idea how to fix it. Was told that it lit up with so many error codes they have to get a special engineer from mopar to come out' just in shock that we're having this issue with a $65k vehicle.very unsafe.

Vehicle intermittently does not turn back on after engine shuts off during normal electronic start system operation. Engine shuts off when nearly and at a stop. When releasing the brake pedal, the engine does not turn back on. There have been three occurrences as follows:occurrence 1 6/27/2020: exiting the thruway and nearly at a complete stop at a light at exit when the engine shut off due to ess system. Upon releasing the brake to begin driving, the engine failed to turn on. Operator was pushing gas pedal to go, the engine remained off. Remedy was to tap the brake again in which the engine turned on and was able to move.occurrence 2 7/13/2020: came to a stop in traffic on a street. Engine shut off due to ess system as designed. Upon releasing the brake, the engine did not restart. Operator pushing gas pedal multiple times and engine still did not turn back on, sitting 'dead' in the middle of traffic. Attempting to push the push start button did not turn vehicle back on. Remedy again was to push brake pedal again and engine turned on.occurrence 3 august 2,2020: operator in traffic, came to a complete stop. Released brake pedal to begin moving. Engine did not turn back on, and shifter 'd' symbol began flashing. Tapping brake pedal would not restart vehicle. Dashboard stated 'shift to p to park', to place vehicle in park position. Placed vehicle into park, had to restart engine by pushing start button. Engine turned on and was able to move.i have a video showing the third occurrence, however this submission only allows picture format so took snapshots of code. Sent video to fca, have multiple recorded visits to dealer to find issue, no root cause determined at this point. Requested refund/replacement.

The infotainment screen will freeze when the backup camera is active. May lead to an accident since the screen may give impression you are clear but it is actually frozen.

While driving on a highway, and also on local roads, a service shifter error message comes up on the dash display. Right after that numerous error lights come on indicating numerous failures along with a check engine light. In addition, the steering locks up making it extremely difficult to steer the vehicle. Makes it very difficult to steer the vehicle when this happens. And, it has happened several times. There are videos online that show this failure on other new jeep wranglers.

I purchased this new 2020 jeep in december 2019; the jeep now has about 800 miles on it.when driving the vehicle at any speed the jeep will dart to the left into on-comming traffic with no warning and for no appearant reason.the faster the speed the more radical the swerve into traffic the incident.i have not been in accident but had lights flashed, numerous hand signals and horns blown at me in the jeep for reckless driving. The dealership - cecil jeep of burnet texas has verified the problem and is troubleshooting potential issues with a factory engineer. Software and damper upgrades have been confirmed properly done and up to date.

The neutral automatic start/off switch was activated as i was stopped at a red light. Vehicle suddenly turned off and jerked as i was proceeding to go on a green light and vehicle did not want to turn back on until 20 min later.

With less than 400 miles on the vehicle, a tapping sound could be heard from the engine bay. When it was brought into the dealership for service, it was determined that there was an issue with the engine. The service technician stated there was a camshaft issue for a tappet that had failed and was delivered from the factory with the defect. This has resulted in a replacement of the rockers, tappets, and intake and exhaust camshafts.

For the third time in six months, our 2020 wrangle unlimited has been at the dealer to attempt to fix a significant chirping sound coming from the serpentine area.they have already replaced the tensioner pulley twice and it's actually worse.so far, for the six months we've had it, we'll be going on 3 weeks in the shop.initially it would only be on a cold start but now it's louder and we can't take it anywhere.the dealer has had all the tech look into it and they still believe it's related to the tensioner.it's not related to the recent tensioner recall either.this is a lemon and needs to be replaced.

Was driving on the highway then it started making a weird sound. Pulled over to park and brand new car started over heating. With only 500 miles, i had to get it towed. I have not heard an update and have no eta. I have not had it for over a month.

As slowing down towards a red light at approximately5 mph the engine suddenly revved up .pressed brake to full (again, no foot on gas), engine continued revving at high rpm.jeep lurched forward three times and rear ended car in front waiting at the light.4 wheel drive was not manually turned on, but felt like the front wheels had locked but the back wheels kept lurching the jeep forward.again the engine was racing even though gas pedal was not pressed.please note: this vehicle is a rental from avis.

We began to notice a strong smell of gas in and around the vehicle, which was not normal or present for the first year of ownership.knowing that this was not 'normal' we scheduled a service appointment with the dealership.upon inspection, it was found that the gas line was leaking due to rubbing on a component.the resolution was the dealer replacing the line, rerouting, and verifying the repair.it should be noted that: 1. The vehicle is stock & has not been modified 2. Despite the strong smell of gas, there were not any warning messages/check engine lights, performance issues, etc. That would otherwise signal an issue

The neutral automatic start/off switch was activated as i was stopped at a red light. Vehicle suddenly turned off and jerked as i was proceeding to go on a green light and vehicle did not want to turn back on until 20 min later.

Vehicle chassisvibration at roughly 83 mph and 2100 rpm in gear 7. Vibration seems be coming from center of vehicles base near gear selector. It is more noticeable under load. Vibration echos through vehicle with a harmonic sound.

2020 jeep wrangle jl with less than 3000 mileswill periodically lose acceleration and not go past 3 gear. This has happened multiple times after driving for a bit and attempting to accelerate from a red light or stop sign.i have noticed if you turn off the vehicle and back on, it seems to fix the problem but the unexpected loss of acceleration and ability to reach normal operating speed has put me in danger situations numerous times.not sure if it is related but i also noted that the auto start/stop warning light was on the last time it happened.

The contact owns a 2020 jeep wrangler. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 21v028000 (power train) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was confirmed that the part was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and informed the contact they do not know when the parts would be available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

This started in may. The rear locker light came on by it self while driving, and at one point, service locker light was also lit up. I wanted to make the appointment but the light went out so i continued driving. In june, it came back on so i made an appointment with the dealer who was not able to get me in. The dealer kept the car for almost 2 weeks, changed a part and sent me home. As i was driving home from the dealership, the light came back on. If the axle is locked at a high speed(which is for off road, low speed only) this could potentially damage the rear axle differential and have catastrophic failure, which could lead to a crash. This issue is occuring at random.

I believe the vehicle clutch failed and the vehicle lost forward propulsion.prior to the loss of clutch pressure and propulsion, a strong burning smell was noted coming form the vehicle, followed by smoke.the vehicle was in motion, going through stop and go traffic, on a city street.i believe this is related to recall 20v124000.the vehicle has 138 miles on it and was being driven home after being purchased new from the dealership.

I was sold a new automobile with a serious open safety recall, nhtsa recall #20v-124, that was no disclosed and not repaired before it was sold to me and i took possession of it.

Brand new jlur first road trip, got less then 500 miles out of co into hays,ks.vehicles has lees then 5000 miles, was passing a vehicle at 68 mph. Lost all forward gears, got a code for valve body silenoid high voltage. Jeepcares did nothing for a tow. It's a little sad you pay $55,000+ for a vehicle, just to have a vehicle sit in the shop with no loaner. Transmission is on a 2 month back order. Word of advice stay away from any the new jl/jt model jeeps.

Front passenger seat release handle separated from cable.seat will only maintain the slid forward position it would be in for allowing access to back seats.

As i moved the passenger seat forward to allow access to the backseat i heard plastic break. The seat will not go back in it's up right and locked position. The seat moves freely forward when breaking and backwards when accelerating. The vehicle is under warranty and i took it to the dealership and they told me they have to order the seat bracket in order to fix it. I cannot utilize my vehicle to transport anybody because of it being a safety risk to any passenger as well as myself do to the seat not being able to perform accurate side airbag protection.

The contact owns a 2020 jeep wrangler. When the contact used the seat lever to place items in the back seat, the lever fractured and he was unable to adjust the seat. When the contact later attempted to use the lever on the driver's side, the same failure occurred. The contact spoke with swope chrysler dodge jeep ram (1012 n dixie hwy, elizabethtown, ky 42701) and was informed that they were aware of the potential failure; however, they did not have the parts to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 200.

Seat folding mechanism is a single wire attached to a plastic lever. This has failed on both front seats at different times leading to the seats getting pushed into full forward tilt which is a potentially deadly failure.

The vehicle wanders, including into other lanes, during travel at higher speeds. The steering is extraordinarily loose. The vehicle requires constant focus and continuous corrections to maintain course. It is dangerous.the dealership representative remarked that it is a known issue but jeep is unable to effectively address it.

A bunch of lights started to pop on my dashboard and said things like service airbag system, service shifter, traction control on while i was driving on a busy road. My steering wheel was also locked so i was unable to turn left or right. Thankfully, i was on the right side of the road so i was somehow able to get on the side of the road and pull over. When i put my car on park, the car would start jerking forward. I turned my car on and off and it was still doing the same thing. I turned it off again and after about 15 minutes, my steering wheel was unlocked. I took my car to the dealership and had them take a look at it. A few days later, they "fixed" it and told me it was a battery issue and that it was resolved. Two days later, the exact same thing happened again while i was on a 1 way street. It was incredibly dangerous, because it happened right before i had to go up an s curve. It was in the middle of a storm and there were a lot of cars going the other way and a lot of cars behind me. I turned on my hazard lights and had to go up the curve very slowly and there was somewhere i could turn right. Since my steering wheel was locked, i wasn't able to turn onto the street and ended up in a patch of grass. My car is currently at the dealership again. They told me it was a wiring issue and they are going to keep it and test drive it a few times.

The jeep wanders on road right to left can't keep it in a straight linei have owned a 2013 jk wrangler an it didn't drive like the 2020faster you go the worst it gets can't get next to 18 wheeler it will push you in other lane before you blink an eye.

Hard to keep centered in lane at highway speeds. Drifts left and right.

2020 jl wrangler unlimited. Stock wrangler without modifications with less than 1k miles, in shop 3 times for same issue. The jeep has excessive steering over 3 inches of play in steering wheel before tires move. The steering also wanders all over the lane and extremely difficult to keep in lane with hands at 10 and 2 on steering wheel. My jeep also has a steering box that separates from frame when turning wheel. There is an aftermarket company who claims to have fixed the box separation issue. They have sold thousands of units and have thousands on backorder. You have to ask why is this such a niche fix for glaring factory issue. My steering box was replaced and fox 2.0 steering stabilizer was tried and failed to fix. The dealers are helpless not hopeless. The dealers know its an issue and want to fix and jeep is aware of issue based on number of complaints on this site as well as internet forums. I think the issue is jeep knows it's a real problem and clueless on how to address without massive recall. Hello class action attorneys. We need you!! the nhtsa has limited muscle to handle issues with fca. This needs litigation before someone dies.

Vehicle wanders when driving down paved roads. Steering wheel has to be moved an excessive amount to keep vehicle within the lane. This could cause the vehicle to wander into another vehicle's lane and cause an accident. This happens on city streets and highways when trying to stay in lane. Exhaustive to the driver during long trips.

Vehicle is constantly veering left and right resulting in constant steering correction. Fvc has acknowledge with a bulletin and fix but no recall so dealer won't fix it.

The steering is very loose and dangerous to drive at speeds over 50 mph.this is not a safe vehicle and will result in injury or death to the driver and its occupants.

2020 jeep wrangler unlimited sahara complaint.vin: [xxx]date of purchase 07/20/2020i leased a brand new 2020 jeep wrangler unlimited sahara with a 2.0 4cyl turbo. I am loving everything about the car except the steering. The steering on this vehicle is terrible and dangerous!!! the steering is loose and on it's own, it will drift or float to either side, right or left, on a smooth dry surface at virtually any speed. It is even worse at higher speeds.it cannot steer straight like any normal vehicle. This is a seriously dangerous problem that jeep should be instituting a recall and repair order for! i've instructed my family members to contact our attorney if anyone is involved in a crash with this vehicle that receives injury, serious bodily injury or death. My family members will inform our attorney that this dangerous problem existed since the day it was purchased and that the manufacturer (jeep) knew about this from numerous complaints from customers, and yet so far has failed to institute a recall for repair.check online and you will find many owners complaining about their new wrangler's steering problem. Online aftermarket companies are attempting to sell products that "may" resolve the problem. Why should any new owner have to spend money on an after market product for a brand new car? if jeep does not initiate a recall, i will write complaints and negative reviews everywhere i can and this will be the last time i purchase one.i will recommend to everyone not to purchase a jeep product because of this gross negligence.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I purchased the jeep 7/4/2020 new off the lot with 9 miles on it.i noticed right away driving home that the car wandered a lot and i spent a lot of time correcting the steering to stay in the lanes.it was scary.i had even more difficulty on the back roads here in north carolina and especially on the freeway with any kind of wind.i spent a lot of time on the jeep boards and found the tsb bulletin that came out about the replacement of the aluminum steering box with 2 screws with the steel steering box with the 4 screws.i took it in the beginning of september and the box arrived mid-october due to the backlog.it was installed but it made little difference.i had other warranty issues with the jeep and continued to ask each time i went in and was told that's just jeeps and there is nothing they could do.i had an older jeep as a rental for a whole week and it didn't have this steering issue.i took it to another dealership who compared the notes of what was done and confirmed there was nothing more they could do as protocol was followed.the car is dangerous.i can't let my kids drive it as it is really only for an advanced driver who can deal with the constant wandering in and out of the lanes.i have a video i can submit but it looks like mov files are not accepted.please advise if you want a copy of the movie after the steering box replacement.

On september 16 2019 my wife and i purchased a 2020 jeep wrangler, we only drove it about an eighth of a mile i didn't see a reason to go any further because we were trading in a 2014 that steers and stays on the road perfectly. It was late in the day when we picked it up and we wanted to go towards the mall to get something to eat the jeep was all over the road extra movement in the steering wheel it didn't correspond to any movement of the tires it was exhausting to drive it to and from the mall. I took it in the next day to have the service manager drive it he didn't see a problem he told my salesman i went for a ride with my salesman and he could see the problem and feel it in the steering wheel. I went the next day and ask the service manager to go with me for a drive i asked him do you see the problem he said what am i looking for which was bologna because i know he can feel it he said they would look into it see if there were any recalls i told him the internet is full of the problems something has to be done i won't let my wife drive this vehicle i know in the recall numbers that you had that i checked first it doesn't say anything about me but this jeep is a load of trouble please help us whatever can be done we need it we're not driving it unless we have to and then only i will do it the only extra thing i could say is if the service manager took it for a ride on the curved roads up behind the dealership which is greenwood auto in cortland ohio if you're constantly turning a wheel it's not as noticeable because you're taking the slack out of the turn otherwise you've got i'm not sure possibly three or four inches of free play

Just bought this new wrangler.wanders all over the road. Dealer told me to get use to it as that is the way they drive. I have had it in to the dealer and still is a problem. I have parked it as it is unsafe to drive. Waiting for the next level from mi. Someone is going to get killed in one of these.in motion byway

Bought this saturday july 18th 2020. The steering is very dangerous.ittakes 2 hands to drive. Drifts side to side. Your constantly trying to keepit straight. I never thought jeep would have this kind of horrific vehicle leave there plant.lots and lots of complaints and still nothing. Took it to dealership in sterling il with jerry the manager saying they are all like thiswhen driving a jeep. Terrible....

While driving at around 40+ mph on the highway, the vehicle wanders from side to side, requiring constant steering input to stay within the lane. Failing to correct the steering (even briefly) results in the vehicle unintentionally departing from the lane.

Very loose steering from factory, with original ae steering box. Had the recent tsb done that replaced with aa (black) version of box and steering is still loose, a lot of freeplay and vehicle wanders at speeds above 40. Still dangerous.

I call it the wandering wheel has done this from day one from dealer lot. The vehicle wanders all over the road, constantly having to correct the steering. Very stressful while driving on highway and or interstate. Very easily could lead to lose of control of vehicle. I've contacted jeep wave and they know the issues which is steering gearbox as they have the same issue with 18 & 19's. They know what the issue is but still can not get the issues fixed.

I purchased my 2020 rubicon last week 09/01/2020. This jeep's steering wheel responsiveness is extremely "loose". At speeds of 55+ mph i do not feel in control of the jeep at times and it is unnerving. This is especially noticeable on a highway bend or a narrow road passage. It is challenging to maintain the vehicle in a constant trajectory. The steering wheel wanders and it is an exhaustive effort to keep it straight. (i have previously owned 2 wranglers and this was never an issue or experience. I am a loyal jeep owner, but i do not feel safe.

Hi - i purchased a new jeep on 12/31, while took the delivery and driving back home, the jeep wandering all over the lane. This is very unusual for a new jeep. The jeep goes left and right. On a narrow lane, its a risk to drive as such. This is a huge safety issue - because of wandering could cause accident and potential cause of death as well. I urge nhtsa to understand this issue and help with the jeep manufacture / dealer to fix at their own expense at the earliest. Also i am sure other consumers experiencing the same issue and like to file this complaint and help the community

Dead spot in the middle of the wheel, pulls to the right, and there is a wobble or looseness to the steering especially in right hand turns and at lower speeds

Failure date: 03/19/2020purchased march 19, 2020.first jeep. Noticed steering felt over reactive immediately.brought back the next day and dealer said this is "normal" for a jeep.the vehicle wanders at low speed and is worse at highway speed.constant correcting is required to stay in one lane, which ends in overcompensating and a zigzag effect.it's very difficult to keep in a straight line at any speed. Feels extremely unsafe.others have described the same conditions as 'loose' steering.very concerned that jeep does not seem to own up to the problem and proactively work toward a solution.

Totally uncontrollable, all over the road constantly left and right. Very dangerous and unsafe! this is no joke and a life and death situation!

When the vehicle is in motion there is a noticeable amount of play in the steering. So much as an inch or more to either side of 12 o'clock. It is nerve wracking when driving at highway speeds. The steering wheel keeps see-sawing back and forth. I've had it to the dealer where purchased three times for this problem. There is a service bulletin out regarding the steering gear box. The dealer installed the parts that needed replacing. This did not correct the problem. They state that this is normal for the jeep wrangler. Believing that it is not normal i took it to another dealer. I received the same response, it cannot be adjusted or corrected in any way. Again they stated that this is normal for the wrangler. I have repair invoices, but do not know how to upload them. From inquiring on the internet about the problem i see that there quite a few blogs that people have written in regarding the same problem.

The steering is very loose. You can turn the wheel several inches before the car reacts. Difficult to keep the car between the lines. The tire inflation has been checked.

I purchased my new jeep wrangler 2020 unlimited just over a month ago. I have noticed that, when driving at speeds above 40mph, the car is very difficult to handle and the car, as well as the steering wheel, wander all over the place. When driving on a highway, i fear for my life as the car wanders around the lane and much worse if there is a slight wind current that hits. It is very unstable and very unsafe. I have taken this to my jeep dealer and they insist that it is normal compared to other wranglers they have tested on their lot. This is a very ignorant response as it does not solve my specific problem. I fear that this will cause a huge accident one day on the roads and believe there is a fix for this problem but the dealer does not wish to fix or repair the issue. I appreciate any help with this.

Unsafe loose steering in this 2020 jeep wrangler sport s willy's edition..the wheel has a large dead space requiring over correcting to maintain the vehicle in it's lane. Due to the dead space i have to perform a "sawing motion" to keep the jeep in its lane.the excess steering wheel motion is at low speeds as well as highway speeds.the jeep can veer right or left depending on the road. When i hold the wheel completely still, the tires can be felt moving right and left. My 16 year old son almost wrecked the jeep the first day in a 25 mph neighborhood due to the overcorrecting needed to steer it straight..this is a safety issue and needs to be corrected before someone is hurt or killed. I was told initially this was a "jeep thing" by someone at the dealership.i did take it in to the dealership and the tech without driving it right away said you need a new steering box.i purchased this jeep sept 23.there was a service bulletin that came out aug 10 by the company # 08-074-20 for improved steering feel.please do something about this.there is a steering problem that would not be accepted by any other car. It is not a "jeep thing".

Excessive free play in the steering on left side.

Car pulls to the side, have to continuously give inputs to the steering wheel to keep car centered. It is a brand new car. Bought 1/17/2020, and today's date is 1/20/2020

While driving the jeep, it is almost impossible to keep the vehicle in a straight line.i have to constantly adjust the wheel to keep myself in my lane, otherwise i drift from left to right.it does not matter the speed either, if i don't keep correcting myself, i just end up in the lane next to me or almost crossing over the lines.besides the vehicle wandering all over the road, the steering is very loose.

The day my husband purchased this vehicle for me, i drove down to my house on a highway (speed limit was 55 mph), i noticed steering wheel starts wobbling at a speed of 50-55 mph, it wobbled more going around the curb, it really scared me so i had to stop the car and ask my husband to drive and see what his opinion on the loose steering wheel.he said he felt the same wobble as i did and called the sales person to have their service department check it out.this vehicle is doing same things that it had described in the death wobble class action lawsuit.this is brand new 2020 jeep wrangler rubicon, their top of the line jeep.two days later, my car was in the shop, they checked it out and said steering wheel was defective and needed to order the part which was not available until november and gave me a number to call the chrysler parts department for speedy delivery on the part.the case manager said parts will not be available until november no matter who called because they have a lot of people waiting on this part(a new steering gear).the manufacturer knew that they were putting out vehicles with defective parts and dealer knew that this vehicle had the bad parts since it was in their tbs but they still selling these vehicles on their car lot.since then, they got the new part and replaced it but still had the same wobbly steering wheel, very scary feeling.i have the detailed notes on what has happened with this vehicle.my husband purchased this vehicle with 575 miles on it.

The steering is loose and vehicle wanders at highway speed.it's very difficult to keep in a straight line at highway speed. Feels extremely unsafe.dealer says this is "normal" for a jeep.

My new 2020 jeep wrangler sport has excessive steering-wheel play resulting in an inability to maintain a straight line at speed on the interstates.unlike my previous 2018 wrangler sahara, or current 2020 grand cherokees, which permit total steering control, the sport moves from side-to-side, i.e., "floats," in the drafts of tractor trailers as they pass, or in crosswinds, or on bumpy roads.can't maintain a straight line in the lane, only able to recover as the vehicle drifts from center.the dealership's service dept says it's not fixable; chrysler's customer concern dept says it's a "factory built wheel assembly and can't be adjusted."as i've driven all models of jeeps for some 30 years, i'm quite disappointed inasmuch as it's a serious safety issue not being able to fully control the front end at speed on the highway.

Steering wanders left to right and right to left with no smooth transition at highway speeds. Constantlly having to move the sterring whell to stay in the lane

I have had my jeep for 9 months now.steering is horrible and at high speeds dangerous!it is impossible to keep in a straight line.i was told by the dealer that this is a "jeep" thing and that i would get used to it,but i found out today that older jeeps do not have an issue as bad as the 2019/2020 models and that i need to get it looked at.i do not know what to do at this point as i do not feel safe driving above 55 mph in my jeep.

I have had this loose steering problem since i bought my jeep january 30 . I have taken it back 3 times without any satisfactory fix. I have now taken the jeep to a different dealer on friday. This will be the 4th time it is back at the jeep dealer i am also working with jeep customer care who cannot resolve this problem

I have experienced death wobble over 5 times and have 3k miles on vehicle. I have taken to the dealer and they replaced drag link and tie rods just to have it happen again. I had it happen on i-70 through a construction zone with no place to pull over. I had to stop in the middle of the interstate to take control of jeep. This was very dangerous and frightening and i want to get the word out. I am not comfortable driving a brand new vehicle, totally unacceptable.

Jeep will wander at highway speeds ,not safe to drive, dealer just pass it off 2020 rubicon 4 door 1500 miles. Jeep will not respond to my concerns , been 5 day no follow up.

When getting to highway speeds or anything over 40mph. I have to steady provide feedback into the steering wheel. It is hard to keep it in the lane. I have never had a car or any other jeep do this. It feels very unsafe.

The jeep wanders so i have to constantly correct steering also itpulls to the right and darts back and forth wen im passing other cars or on windy days i don't feel safe driving itmy wife wont drive it at all i even got a for weel alignmentit didn't help the problemthey need to fix this problem

The steering has 1.5" drift to each side without any response from the vehicle.

Bought the vehicle brand new on 06/19/2020. Since driving the steering has became significantly loose. Alot of play in the wheel. Driving on roads its very hard to keep straight. I do not feel safe driving it. Feels like you have to constantly correct while driving. Feels like im going to crash into another car. There is alot of dead zone in the wheel. This must be looked at. This os not a "jeep thing".

The contact owns a 2020 jeep wrangler. The contact stated that the steering wheel became loose while driving and while turning. The contact stated that the steering wheel had four inches to the right and four inches to come back to the center and could not control due to the looseness. There was no warning light illuminated.the vehicle was taken to peppers chrysler dodge jeep ram (2440 e wood st, paris, tn 38242, and was diagnosed that it was in the safety guideline of the computer. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired once before for a failure with the steering column. The contact also mentioned that the steering failed to respond to the left or right unless it was jerked. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred twice. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.

The steering on this jeep is dangerous.it will not return to center, which at low speeds means it will turn in a circle and you have to steer back when making a turn.at high speeds it means constantly overcorrecting and correcting to keep vehicle in lane.this is tacking back and forth at high speeds to avoid hitting vehicles or barriers on either side of you.terrifying.there is also a large dead spot in the steering from about 11 to 1 making this even tougher. Jeep told me "this is as designed." even though they could see the problem, the weren't allowed to try any solutions.this is a severe safety issue and needs to be corrected/recalled before it kills someone. There should be no vehicle that should be "designed" not to return to center and have minimal steering control at highway speeds.a second problem is that it tends to really wander with any outside force.a slight breeze will mean you are all over the road, and without being able to return to center you are again guessing at center and end up tacking back and forth even at lower speeds.the dealer also noted this.

My 2020 jeep wrangler rubicon unlimited exhibits the loose steering issue affecting the 2018/19 and 2020 jl models. While driving the vehicle at all posted speeds it requires constant left and right steering wheel corrections or input to keep the vehicle from wandering out of the lane. Fca and their dealers have stated that as of nov 18, 2019 there is no fix and that their engineers are aware of the situation. This loose steering can also be seen in the parked stationary position by simply turning the steering wheel between the 11 o'clock and 1 o'clock positions and not seeing the front wheels react or move at all. I have only 455 total miles on this jeep and per my dealers instructions i have parked the jeep as it is unsafe to drive. Fca/jeep will do nothing and also declined to buyback the vehicle so we have retained legal counsel.

Exceptionally loose steering, "sawing" of the wheel is required to drive straight. Situation worsens with highway speeds.

Driving fully stock at speeds near 60 mph on highways, car seems to want to steer dangerously either right or left & the play in the steering greatly increases & needs some correction to avoid likely collisions.

Steering is so loose that at highway speeds the continued motion back and forth on the steering wheel that is required to attempt to keep my vehicle in it's lane causes it to wobble and become unsteady on the roadway. It is loose all the time but is most dangerously noticeable when the vehicle is driven at higher rates of speed. The date listed below is just one date that i specifically remember although it happens all the time.

Driving at highway speeds, the steering feels loose and the jeep tends to wander left and right.under certain circumstances, such as curves in the highway, especially going downhill, controlling the direction of the vehicle becomes difficult and scary.the only thing to do under such circumstances is to slow down sufficiently to maintain directional control.on sept 1, 2019 i've almost ran into the median divider on i-70 west, west of evergreen co.on sept 2, 2019, i was struggling to stay in my lane heading east on i-70 into denver, just east of golden, co

I bought a new jeep. When i test drove it i notioned the steeling was wanderinf from left to right. I told the dealer and they said it was how all jeeps drove "jeep thing" thry said. When i drove on the highway ,it was worse and danderous to drve,so i took it back to dealer near me and they drove it and sad it was fine. What can i do.

The contact owns a 2020 jeep wrangler. When the steering wheel was turned approximately three inches in either direction, the front wheels would not turn immediately. The contact indicated that there was excessive "play" with the steering. Dwayne taylor chrysler jeep (2052 us hwy 641 n, murray, ky) was notified and stated that the vehicle was operating normally. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 100.

2020 jeep rubicon unlimited pulls to the right at speeds above 35mph and needs constant correcting to stay straight on a flat paved surface.this is not a road crowning issue, happens on surface streets or highway but most noticeable on highways. You can feel the resistance of the steering wheel that wants to naturally be in a right pulling position.furthermore, you can see the difference in balance by turning to the left and watching the steering wheel come back to center...turn to the right and it barely moves back to the left...it wants to stay right.jeep says they have no fix for this problem, yet it has been reported since 2018.inferior parts and the inability to make adjustments has perpetuated this issue.the nhtsa must force fca to create a permanent fix for this problem.see also 11258580. *dsy*dt*dt*dt*dtconsumer stated old aluminum gear box was replaced and pcm software updated. Alignment check will be done following week.

Steering has become increasingly problematic. Excessive play in the steering wheel and feels dangerous to drive in some conditions.

Hi,i have a 2020 jeep wrangler unlimited sahara. The steering has a problem with wandering all over the road. It worsens at higher speeds. I took it back to the dealership for service on this problem. And was told there is no fix for the wandering issue with the steering box. The issue still persists and i'm afraid to drive it on the highway at high speed. Please send me a case number and how to proceed to have this repaired. There are numerous wrangler owners on the internet forums with the same safety concerns as me.thank you, giuseppa

Steering is very sloppy and requires a lot of steering input and effort to keep the vehicle straight down normal roads.

I just purchased a 2020 jeep wrangler 2 door sport s on 01/30/2020 and 1 week later was taken back to dover dodge to fix a serious steering problem. The appointment was made for a week later, and the dealer kept the jeep wrangler for 1 week. I then pick up the jeep and was told they change the steering box and problem fixed. The next day i was traveling to work on the highway and i was all over the highway, same problem with steeringcalled them back on 02/22/2020/and they gave me an appointment for today 03/02/2020 i am hoping they actually fix the problem ,i feel it is a safety issue and should be addressed bychrysler jeep

The steering is loose and has play in the steering wheel. It is difficult to keep the jeep going straight because you constantly have to make steering corrections. The 'dead zone' play in the steering wheel happens while stopped and driving.

This is a 2020 vehicle you can not drive safely on the highway. The play in the steering wheel makes controlling this vehicle at low speeds challenging but at speeds above 55 mph it is a horror, especially when trucks go by. The dealer says it is a problem but no fix has been issued. Once someone is killed maybe they will fix this. If i knew about this issue i would never have purchased it as it puts my family at risk from an accident. Please help with this before someone is killed

I just bought the jeep and going home on highway at speed of 50-60. Jeep was going left and right (wobbling) and steering was little shaky.i thought it may be wind and hold on to steering careful.my wife was following me in different car and she noticed that too.why i am going left and right but still stayed in lane.after coming home i did google search i see many reference of "death wobble".i see jeep knows this issue and it is really sad to see this issue in 2020.i may return this vehicle.i am still under 250 miles / 5 day return period.i will talk to dealer in the morning. Please investigate and do the right thing.i can't imagine my daughter behind the shaking steering.it is so dangerous. Please fix it.

My jeep has 10000 mi now and its been a year i have had it and the sway ontjw highway has got worse with time. It now is work to constantly correct the steering wheel to keep it in my lane on the highway.

I purchased the vehicle last friday and shortly after that i have discovered a loose steering with a 2 inch dead spot when traveling over 40mph.i feel unsafe driving it on the highway especially on uneven pavement.driving in the tunnel feels like i am fighting for my life.we did contact the dealer however, they denied the problem stating the vehicle is up to spec.

I have taken my jeep wrangler rubicon jlu into the dealership 3 times for loose steering at 7,507 miles.the tsb part number 08-074-20 was ordered and took over a month to come in.once completed the steering did feel better for 2,000 miles and then became very loose again.it's very uncomfortable to drive speeds over 45mph.i have taken it back to the dealer with the same complaint and was told theres nothing wrong with the vehicle and i didn't know how to drive a jeep wrangler.i told them that it was the steering was fine for 7,000 miles with zero complaints and this was now my third wrangler i've owed.

Steering has a lot of play and significant pulling causing driving fatigue to keep jeep on road.

Just bought this jeep 3 days ago, and it exibits loose steering to the point that is hard to keep vehicle in lane. On one occassion while driving the passenger side of the jeep hit an uneven surface in the road and immediatly veered tot he right almost drivingus into an embankment. The uneven surface was just a very minor dip. This needs to be addressed immediatly before someone gets killed. I am registering my complaint today as prrof that i made jeep aware and for possible future litigation.

The steering is very loose and extremely dangerous on the highway.while driving on the highway, it is extremely difficult to steer straight.i have to make large steering wheel adjustments just to remain in the lane.driving this jeep is very unsafe at highway speeds.

The contact owns a 2020 jeep wrangler. The contact stated that there was a hesitation between when the steering wheel was turned and the response from the front wheels. The contact stated that the steering wheel was constantly moved from left to right to keep the vehicle in a straight line. The vehicle was taken to bill luke chrysler jeep dodge ram located at (2425 w camelback rd, phoenix, az 85015 (602) 249-1234) and test driven. The mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted or notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 200.

The steering has to much play and the jeep wanders

2020 jeep wrangler unlimited rubicon. The driver side control arm bracket on my front axle is not welded on one side. The weld missed the bracket all together. There is a recall for some 2020s, but mine is not listed. Jeep told me since mine is not listed, there is nothing they can do. Also even if it was impacted, there is no fix yet. My front axle could come loose at any time due to missing weld causing a loss of control. This is a serious safety concern and they will not do anything about it.

Vehicle wobbles over 70 mph speed limit is 75. Gets worse over un even road of speed bump at any speed. Feel like the whole jeep is going come apart. Also while driving the screen just glitch every 10-second. It gets worseusing carplay

On 4 occassions two while being towed behind our rv the jeep started jumping violently. Looked on the camera and felt like we were driving over big boulders but there were none. Thankfully we were going slow enough to stop without having an accident. On all four times it did not come back when we were going again. We are terrified of driving it and more so of towing it. Dealer found nothing wrong... We don't understand.

The vehicle develops "death wobble" when hitting bumps within the road, to the point that all control over the vehicle is lost until speeds are reduced to below 20 mph.the steering becomes extremely violent, preventing any corrective measures from being possible.early today, the event almost caused a three car accident in a residential community.hit a bump around 40 mph and lost all control of the vehicle.

I purchased my 2020 wrangler jl on08/24/2020. This jeep's steering wheel responsiveness is "loose" at speeds of 55+ mph, i do not feel in control of the jeep at times and it is unnerving.this is especially noticeable on a highway bend or a narrow road passage, it is challenging to maintain the vehicle in a constant trajectory.i have taken it to the dealer and they did a wheel alignment which helped a little, but still problematic.the steering wheel wanders and it is an exhaustive effort to keep it straight.

While driving at highway speeds, the steering become sloppy and unresponsive. This causes the vehicle to wander from side to side. The steering is loose, so any correction to prevent the wandering is not enough or too much. This causes a loop where the wandering becomes side to side driving.at these speeds it is in danger of flipping or hitting another car. Any wind or seam in the road is also cause for concern, as the outisde forces cause the driver to correct the vehicle. With the steering correction is nearly impossible. 2 events in 1 week of ownership resulted in letting the car coast to a stop (on highway shoulder) in attempt to regain composure after excessive side to side wandering nearly flipped the car. It is unsafe to drive.

The steering wheel can be turned from top dead center an inch in either direction with the vehicle turning.this is more noticeable on highway where it worries me the most. I can tell the difference between the vehicle being pushed by the wind and when the steering is not responding. Since this vehicle is top heavy, i do not want to over turn to make up for the lack of steering response. An example of the issue is as follows: on the highway when between two vehicles, the vehicle to the right comes closer. To counter act this i turn slightly left and it takes about 2 inches of wheel turn before the steering reacts and goes left. This delay i feel is very unsafe and may lead to an accident.also this steering issues cause me to constantly correcting steering wheel while driving straight. The vehicle is constantly going from lane marker to lane marker even with steering correction. It's like a drunk driver is driving my vehicle. I have video showing how much the steering can move without response but noticed i cannot upload video.

Test drove a 2020 jeep sahara on 8/7/2020 and drove good. Bought a white one but was not ready so it was going to get delivered the next day at my house. White 2020 jeep sahara was delivered on 8/8/2020 at around 12:00 pm. Salesman showed all features and left. I did a test drive around 5:00pm, wen on the highway and steering was really off, did a turn around to come back home. At 55 pmh i tried to change lanes and i i lost control and ended up in a ditch. Steeting was very loose going left to right and right to left. Felt i was swerving so much and did not feel the same as the one we test drove at the dealership. Called dealership told me that since the vehicle is still brand new that the roadside assitance was not avaible, left me there in the ditch and i had to call my insurance. This happened in san antonio, tx. Do not buy jeep!!!

I purchased a 2020 jeep wrangler rubicon. Driving home from the dealership i noticed it wandered right and left on the highway. After arriving home i checked the air pressure in the tires all set at 41psi spec is 36psi. After adjusting the air pressure we drove it again it was a little better but still wandered back and forth all the time. I noted you could move the steering wheel back and forth about an inch or more without the front wheels even moving? this is not acceptable. Called the dealer for an alignment and asked if this jeep had the updated gear box? it did not so they did the gearbox. Made no difference still wanders all over the road. You really have to pay attention while driving this jeep. Not acceptable for a 2020 vehicle.

Up to 2 inches of play in steering causing the vehicle to wander and requires constant correction to keep straight

Near high speed crash situation, twice, for fault that the dealership has confirmed but does not have a solution for! first incident... Had to gently swerve on freeway when a car pulled into my lane without warning. Almost lost control, back end fishtailed horribly, turned the steering wheel back the other way to attempt to take control and massive oversteer caused the car to jump 2 lanes the other way. Lucky not to crash. Dealership took vehicle in a said there was a known fault that needed addressing! the vehicle had not been recalled, so if it is a known fault that is frightening. The had to get a part in which took approx 10 days. They also made some changes to the power steering. Car returned to us. On first drive on same stretch of freeway (70 and 75 mph), we were in a similar situation/incident. Again it should have been a bit of "nothing" situation, with a little swerve and that's all. Instead we once again lost control and spent approx 15 seconds getting under control and securely in one lane. It went back to dealership. The had for 12 days with zero update/contact. Then they told me a specialist had been pulled in and he had driven it and confirmed a safety issue at high speeds. The car was ordered through this dealership with large wheels as part of the package/order. The specialist switched to factory wheels and tested again - he said it was now ok, so wheels are the issue. The dealership offered one solution to make the car safe after this - put the factory wheels back on. No! if we could only have has factory wheels we would never have purchased a wrangler in the first place! it's like buying a white car and then being told it has to be repainted red, when one hates red cars - not acceptable. The car has been in the dealership for more days than in our possession, and we cannot safely drive it on the freeway in the ordered form. Shocking

I bought this 2020 wrangler unlimited rubicon as a factory order, assembled in august 2019, delivered in september 2019. Since i got it, it has had incredibly loose steering. I was assured by the dealer this was standard. I previously owned a 2016 jeep wrangler (previous generation) that did not have the same looseness in steering. At my dealer's recommendation, i purchased and had them install a new steering stabilizer ($250) and upgraded control arms ($400). This helped the handling of the vehicle but did not improve the steering. I recently had the tsb08-074-20 performed which replaced the steering gear box. It did not improve the steering at all and it continues to be loose. I can turn the steering wheel from 10 oclock to 2oclock and the wheels do not turn at all. This makes it incredibly difficult to drive, especially at high speed. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle above 55mph, especially around curves on the highway.

My jeep is all over the road, i can hardly keep it between the lines. It zigs, it zags, the steering wheel has a 30 degree dead spot. I took it in to the dealer and they claimed they replaced my steering box. That did nothing to fix the problem.this jeep is dangerous!

My new 2020 jeep wrangler rubicon has excessive steering-wheel play resulting in an inability to maintain a straight line at speed on the interstates. Unlike my previous 1997 and 2005 wrangler or current 2012 grand cherokee, which permit total steering control, mt rubicon moves from side-to-side, i.e., "floats, " when driving at speed greater than 30 mph or on bumpy roads and gets worse on interstates at 60. Can't maintain a straight line in the lane, only able to recover as the vehicle drifts from center which is constant. The dealership's service dept says there is nothing wrong and it is a jeep thing.chrysler's customer concern dept says taking it to the dealer but after the third time with only 9,000 miles on the jeep i feel it will not be fixed.as i've driven all models of jeep for some 30 years, i'm quite disappointed in as much as it's a serious safety issue not being able to fully control the front end at speed on the highway.

Steering is loose which manifests as wandering while driving. Constant correction is needed to stay in a lane. This is fatiguing and could lead to an accident.

New 2020 wrangler unlimited rubicon just a week old.been into dealer 3 of those 7 days for the following: 1.) significant pull to the right on flat surface streets or highways regardless of speed.alignment was done and in specs, yet the problem exists. Rotated tires back to back and side to side..no fix.constant correction required every few seconds making it not just a safety issue, but also an exhausting driving experience.2.) steering wheel is off centered about 5+ degrees to the right and wants to continuously go back to that position.does not align straight. Can feel it resisting me wanting to go back off center to the right. There is play in the steering wheel, and you can see that it wants to stay off center all the time.3.) steering wheel when making a left turn immediately comes back towards center to the right and feels like it resists when wanting to turn left; however, when making a right turn, there is no resistance and it does not comeback to center willingly as it should.dealer does not know what to do at this point, and asked that i wait for a software update to come out in next 3-6 months. I do not find this to be an acceptable option.see also 11307713.*dsy*dt

Significant "dead-zone" at center. Inconsistent steering feedback. Significant wandering, making it difficult to keep vehicle centered in lane. Essentially feels like having to play "ping-pong" with constant corrections to keep jeep in lane, constantly weaving. Happens at all speeds. Is not related to weld issue with prior models, i don't think. Very scary and concerning at higher speeds.

Vehicle wanders left and right at city speeds and worse at highway speeds. Steering wheel has a 'dead zone' with no reaction in wheel movement. Too much vehicle wander when trying to simply drive straight, likely to cause loss of control in any inclement weather. Fca has issued a new service bulletin for repair to all jl and jt model jeeps. Has been an issue since purchase in july and is still an issue 500 miles later. A very common issue with all 2018-2020 wranglers that fiat chrysler has yet to fix.

My vehicle is not subject to the same recall as other jeeps but has the same steering vibration dampener defect. After hitting a bridge seam across the highway or a pothole the wheel and steering column shake uncontrollably forcing me to slow and attempt to get off the highway.

I am leasing this vehicle, brand new at only 8 miles it was already pulling to the sides when on highway. At first i thought it's a jeep thing since it's first time driving a jeep, but i realized it's unsafe on highway it keeps pulling to the sides! so i researched online and found many others are reporting this with the 2020 and 2019 wranglers.

The steering wheel has about 5% dead play when going over 60 miles an hour

Vehicle is a 2020 wrangler sahara. There is excessive play in the steering wheel.sitting still there is about 2'-3' steering wheel movement left & right. At highway speeds there is constant steering wheel response to keep the vehicle in your own lane. Even then its wandering in your lane. I had a 2013 wrangler sahara and it didn't have this issue. Dealer has seen it and said everything is normal. Actually, said it's comparable to other wranglers, they didn't say it was normal. I asked them instead of an improvement they made them worse? they had no answer.

The car will not hold a straight line.it dodges and dives all over the road.if you are making a sweeping turn over 40 mph in either direction, it suddenly darts in the direction you have the wheel turned with no further input.when you try to correct back it takes a lot of wheel movement and then it suddenly darts in the direction.it just will not drive straight.you are constantly fighting to keep it between the lines.you can not drive this car for more then. An hour or two and you have to stop[ driving.it is unsafe not only to the driver and passengers, but to anybody else on the road.you just do not know what it is going to do.nhtsa needs to force fca to do a recall on this issue and fix it.this issue makes the ralph nader issues with the chevrolet cover look minor.please, please look into this before somebody dies.

While driving the steering has a large amount of play, fails to hold a straight line, and requires constant correction.at highway and interstate speeds, it is difficult to keep the vehicle in the desired lane especially around curves and restricted lanes.steering assist system feels as though it goes in and out daily.in addition, vehicle steering wheel does not return to center when turning and requires driver correction after turning.dealership has inspected vehicle and noticed some drivability issues.a tsb 19-002-19 was done for a steering damper issue, but additional steering issues were noticed. 'floating on the front end' was reported by test driving tech but after checking alignment claimed everything was in spec.no resolutions offered through dealership or escalation with fca.i worry about the ability of this vehicle to stay on the road under normal driving corrections.

When driving the vehicle on the highway, the vehicle wanders excessively side to side often exceeding lane lines. It is extremely difficult to maintain lane of travel at any speed over 30 mph. There are inches of play in the steering wheel rotation. When braking hard the vehicle pulls hard to one direction either left or right. The vehicle is a brand new 2020 with less than 5,000 miles. Took the vehicle in to have it checked. Service department said they ordered a new steering gearbox.

My jeep pulls all over the road, wobbling wheel.

I am unable to maintain my lane at all while driving this vehicle. It can be concerning to drive like this especially on the interstate. If you get to close to the edge of the road on non interstate roads it will pull you straight off the road.

There is a 3" dead-zone in the steering of this vehicle - meaning, when the steering wheel is turned left or right up to 3", there is no steering response.as a result, the vehicle drifts all over the roadway and becomes very difficult to keep straight on the roadway.this is a safety issue as the driver will encounter uncontrolled drift into other lanes of travel .

When driving at highway speeds, the vehicle drifts all over the road.it is necessary to constantly move the steering wheel left and right just to stay in my lane.several times, the vehicle has drifted into an adjacent lane before i could make a correction.i took it to the dealer i bought it from, safford chrysler jeep of fredericksburg, virginia and, after 2 1/2 hours in the service department, told me there is no problem.i know that hundreds of jeep wrangler jl owners have reported this same problem to nhtsa.

New 2020 jeep wrangler with 300 miles, wants to "wander" instead of going in a straight line while moving. There is about 1/2" of play (left to right from dead center) that doesn't move the car in either direction. Uneven roads makes the car wander even worse. Dealer checked on 1/21/20 and said nothing was found wrong (see attached jpg file.

We purchased this 2020 jeep on 09/03/2019 and the same day noticed an issue with the steering.it would sway in the lane and you constantly have to correct it.i notified the dealer immediately and got almost zero response.i drove it to the dealership the next day and was told they were aware of the problem but didn't have a fix for it.i was blown away, i had just paid over $50,000 for a brand new jeep that had 3 miles on it and it had a problem.i was told to call some 800 number and maybe they could help me.i complained again about the problem to my salesman and he scheduled a service appointment.i took the jeep in and they said that they done an alignment and that the tires were a little over inflated so they brought them to factory pressure.again, this is a brand new jeep that they had just ran through what they call pdi when they come off the truck.so if the tire pressure was wrong, then it was wrong because they didn't check it.i received the jeep back and there was no difference at all.i'm honestly at my whits end with it.i found online that this is a major issue and thought maybe i could get some help from you guys.

New jeep jlu has dangerous wondering wheel (excessive wheel play). Need to take back to the dealer. Seems many online are having this issue. I almost got into an accident driving on the highway last night with my family.

I bought the 2020 jeep wrangler rubicon ecodiesel a month ago and from day 1 the minute i went on the freeway and drove above 55mph the car started to wander from side to side, i call this "steering wheel wondering"it is very difficult to keep the car straight and requires constant feedback to the wheel. I took it to the dealer and initiated a case with fca, the dealer drove test and told me that this is how jeep drives and yes i need to constantly provide feedback to the wheel. From fca i am waiting for a resolution. For $70,000 i expected a car that will drive normally, this is very dangerous and i am afraid to put my family in the car.

When driving over 50 mph a lot of play in steering we are constantly having to steer left to right to keep vehicle on the road it's new 2020 sahara with 300 miles on it and it wonders all over the road

Since i purchased my vehicle in june i have noticed it pulling to the right when driving the steering is stiff on the left but loose on the right making it difficult to keep centered in the road without using two hands on the wheel. I have taken it to the dealer and they did a wheel alignment which helped a little, but still problematic. This is the 4th wrangler i've owned and i never had this problem with my other jeeps. I read about the recall of the left control arm bracket. We looked under the jeep axel and the left side is fine the right side control arm bracket appears cracked. I took a photo.*dt

The contact owns a 2020 jeep wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle drifted to the left and to the right. The vehicle was taken to weekley chrysler dodge jeep ram (50 main st, butler, oh 44822, (419) 883-2461) to be diagnosed. The mechanic was unable to provide the cause for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.

Dealership said that's normal

The vehicle "wanders" in its lane. Driving at any speed above approx. 30 mph. Requires full attention to stay in lane, higher speed highway corner are exhausting & feels dangerous.

The steering is all over the place , cannot keep the jeep in between the lines for nothing

2020 jeep wrangler bought july 16 2020 had 35 miles and now it is 1000 miles.while driving at all speeds vehicle drifts left to right, you constantly need to be correcting steering to keep vehicle in your own lane.steering get worse at speeds above 40 mph.you need to be moving steering wheel back and forth to keep vehicle straight and then without warning you are being jerked into other lane.i will not let any other family member drive jeep until they fix this issue.

While driving at speeds between 35 and 65 mph, the vehicle will wander from left to right causing the driver to constantly correct the vehicle to stay within the lane.the vehicle will also pull to the left or right when applying the brakes.once i swerved half a lanes width under heavy braking.the vehicle has 3100 miles on it.at all times regardless of the road condition this behavior exist and the internet is full of complaints.this is a major safety issue, not a performance issue.please watch this video as he does a great job describing the issues surrounding the safety of this product. Https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzes1_cj99si believe if something does not happen immediately there will be accidents. I had to fight with jeep to get a rental for three days.this is nota tire pressure issue or simple alignment issue and that's how the dealers are trying to fix this issue, with band-aidsi ask for you to read and take this message very serious as i am concerned for anyone with this vehicle and these handling problems.it is a know issue and jeep continues to put people in these cars.the jeeps are still being sold without a proper confirmation that they are safe.i know, because i have one....

Excessive play in steering wheel which results in constant steering correction to stay in the lane. There is an unresponsive dead zone of several inches allowing the jeep to wander from left to right. This issue occurs at low and high speeds both on highways and secondary roads making the jeep wrangler difficult to control.while following behind the jeep wrangler on a highway, it appears as if the driver is either distracted or intoxicated as the jeep wanders in and sometimes out of the lane making it a hazard.

Took to dealership today because me and 2 other people have felt a lot a play in the steering. They checked it and said there was not a problem. This is my 3rd jeep and the other 2 never drove like this one! please fix this problem before someone dies! i'm waiting to get pulled over because someone might think i'm intoxicated. Can't keep it in a straight line. Help!!!'

Driving at all speeds vehicle constantly wonders from left to right sometimes when correcting from one direction to the other it will put you in the other lane. Very dangerous when on two lane or uneven road against oncoming traffic. Took back to dealer twice replaced gear box did not help. Bought jeep for my wife but she won't drive it says it makes her feel unsafe i agree with her you think for 55,000 you could drive your vehicle down the road in a relaxing state.

Continuously wondering driving on road going 30 mph to 60mhp could not keep vehicle straight inbetween the lines on the road .it happened the first time we took vehicle home from brand new purchase

Vehicle has loose steering causing the vehicle to wander on the road. It is an unsafe condition and could cause an accident, injury, or death.this happens when the vehicle is in motion on the roads for freeways. Tire pressure was set to recommended level of 36psi.

While driving at around 30mph on a winding hill the steering locked forcing a crash into a guard rail.

The jeep cannot stay straight. I needs constant adjust to keep it in the lane. The problem gets worse as the speed increases.

The steering is causing the vehicle to wander all over the road.it is an unsafe condition. I feel like i have to constantly over correct (left & right) the steering to keep the car on a strait line which makes it very unsafe and hard to drive. This is a brand new car, it should not have this issue.please recall and fix this issue.

When traveling on the highway at or above 60 mph, the jeep wanders and doesn't maintain a straight line.the steering is very loose and very difficult to remain in my lane at all times.i feel very unsafe traveling on the highway with this vehicle.

Bought our vehicle new as you drive down rode the faster you go the harder it is to control steering to stay in your lane. Reported it to dealership they won't take it on main road to drive faster than 35 says it's a jeep thing. This is constant hard to handle while in regular drive mode.

Vehicle is wandering all over the lane, steering feels "loose" and it is hard to keep the vehicle straight in lane. Happens at all speeds but it's more noticeable at highway speeds (50-70mph).i had "near miss" when driving west on i-10 before baytown where road works are happening and the road has been barricaded on both sides making the road too narrow. So when driving side by side with an 18wheeler it was almost impossible to be precise and keep the vehicle straight. I had to brake hard to let the 18wheeler go and try to avoid another one passing me and being in the same situation. If you hold the steering wheel straight, the vehicle won't do the same, so you have to give constant input to avoid going to other lanes.i've found massive complaints on jeep forums and youtube. Some videos are actually leading to a solution by replacing the steering box, flashing the power train control module or replacing the trac bar as well, etc.i'm about to visit the dealership for second time after the issue was not resolved on first visit. Only alignment was done and they said the steering issue was "normal" and that all new wranglers were like that.thanks for your time.

I have a serious issue with the steering of my jeep.it feels as if i am driving on an air hockey table.i have had this issue right after i purchased the vehicle in october.i took it in to the deal immediately after i could barely keep it on the road.they said there was an open recall on jeeps for this issue.they sold me a vehicle with an open recall.they replaced one lower link on the passenger side, nothing else.this did not correct the problem.brought it to another dealer.they gave me the standard trope that it could be the tires, and that there was nothing wrong.as i have seen on a lot of jeep forums this seems to be a common problem.this is a serious safety issue and i want jeep to repair this issue.someone will be killed by not being able to keep their vehicle on the road or even in their lane.well, i don't want it to be me or anyone else i come in contact with.please help me.

From the day the jeep was driven off of the lot with 20 miles on it it has experienced what can be described as loose or unresponsive steering. There is no noticeable play in steering when stationary, however when in motion there exists about 1 or 2 degrees of dead or unresponsive range in the steering. When the steering wheel is moved left or right for 1 to 2 deg. There is no response or a delayed response from the wheels. As most wranglers' steering will wander to some degree, this can cause dangerous body roll, over-correction in steering and loss of traction in snowy conditions, particularly when 4wd is engaged.this has caused loss of traction, near accidents and veering off of roads in multiple occasions.this wrangler has been in the dealership's shop multiple times where the service manager and mechanics agree that this issue exists, however claim to not know how to fix it. Interactions with fca (jeep) have produced no results as they claim to be unaware of such issues.

Vehicle has too much free play or wandering while on the freeway.not safe with my family as i have to constantly correct the steering.not safe to take both hands off the steering wheel.

The jeep is extremely hard to keep on the road. It is all over the place. Way to much play in the wheel. It is very challenging to keep the jeep on the rightif the road and between the lines.

Just bought this 2020 jeep sahara july 2020 and the steering is all over the place. You must fight this jeep to drive it anywhere , if you take you eyes off the road for a second you could be in a ditch. It pulls left. Took it to the dealer with 1000 miles on it and they did a front end alignmentto no avail. So i took it back the same day a left it. Still not fixed, but they tell me it is normal.

Vehicle shakes violently when driven at speeds over 50 mph causing loss of steering control. Each instance requires immediate stoppage of vehicle and the need to seek emergency road side area to pull over onto for safety. This frightening effect occurs intermittently and without warning.

I've had the vehicle for a little over two weeks and the vehicle wanders dangerously at highway speeds due to the slop in the steering. It also locks when taking a tighter turn from a starting position and i have to force it back to center.

Vehicle wanders back and forth brand new 2020 wrangler unlimited dealer worked on it was probadly 50 persent better but still chasing steering wheel to keep in lane they said they did everything they could unless it is recalled saw today jeep is recalling some 2020 wranglers with left lower arm bracket is welded in wrong place could this be the problem recall starts on march 14 vehicle is back in shop again for water leak from roof into cab been there so far 5 days they have it more than me also a lot of wind noise from front doors on both sides not bad for a vehicle that cost a little short of 50000$ lousy qualty control can you tell me what happens next

Am unable to keep vehicle driving straight on the road. Am having to constantly keep moving the steering wheel to keep vehicle straight.steering wheel has about an half to inch play before it affects steeringwindt road or narrow roads very dangerous. Have taken to dealership and theysay they can not help.the steering issue is know issue on 2018 and 2019;and appears to be on 2020. This need to be resolve before someone dies from this steering issue.

At speeds above 40mph the vehicle just wants to wander usually to the drivers side. Have to constantly over correct to keep it straight.there isa bad leak allowing outside air to enter the vehicle on the drivers side.

Steering has a tremendous amount of play at all driving speeds but more noticeable at higher speed(55mph) being speed limit. Steering wheel does not re-center. Extremely dangerous. Exhausting just to stay in lane. Dealership made an adjustment to gearbox but no change.

My 2020 jeep wrangler jlur has a dead spot in the steering wheel that is about 1.5 to 2 inches of steering turn with no response.it is very hard to keep it from over steering especially at speeds more than 50 mph.i have to constantly make micro-adjustments to keep it in my lane. When large trucks like 18 wheelers pass me it gets very dicey.i've gotten scared to drive on the freeway with my jeep now.there is no excuse at all for a vehicle to drive this poorly.i paid nearly $60k for this car and it only has 5,000 miles on it thus far.the problem started at about 2,700 miles. I haven't even had my first oil change yet. I have heard many others with jl's having the same problem. Fca needs to recall the steering on jl wranglers before people get injured or die from this steering issue.it's not safe!!

Steering wandering at highway speeds. Steering wheel feels looser and looser in comparison to when i first bought the vehicle. At only 3k miles the steering should not feel this loose.

While driving on hwy 65 mph, i noticed my steering getting hard to control, i then realized that it was locked in the straight forward position, after a few seconds of forcefully trying to turn the wheel it finally broke free, i exited the hwy and went straight to the house. This is the 3rd time. Quit scarry in traffic i must say. It does drive normal now, but i don't know if it will happen again.

Steering wheel has a lot of play in it and does not stay straight when driving on highway or interstate driving.dealer said it's normal on the new jeeps.

Purchased 2020 rubicon jl - dead space on steering at hwy speeds, driving more than 30 minutes is mentally and physically exhausting trying to keep it in lane. Taken to service and they avoid admitting anything wrong. Needs a major steering box overhaul or recall, software update . Something electrical is not communicating. Death trap.

Bonded intrusion bar separated from door skin. Separation causes rubbing/chaffing/noise when door is operated and was what alerted me to the presence of the issue. Taken to dealership and was told the door must be replaced in order to fix the issue. This exact same issue happened in my 2018 jeep wrangler rubicon and they replaced the front two doors on my jeep. Fca has clearly not corrected this design issue, and i am concerned that it leads to a weakened structural integrity/safety feature of the vehicle. I am also concerned that because the fix includes repainting part of a brand new vehicle, many people will not want to have their vehicles repaired. Also, depending on personality, it may be very easy to overlook the noise that called my attention to the issue in the first place. Bonding like this is used extensively in modern vehicles. If they have a problem with it in this location, do they have a problem with it in other locations or vehicles that aren't being addressed. Clearly there is evidence that this is a continued issue across model years, not an isolated incident.

Quality of the suspension welds to the frame of the jeep.the drivers side rear suspension bracket appears to have quality issues (e.g., porosity, consistency, appearance).removal of the bracket showed signs of porosity impacting the frame.vehicle was stationary during the work being done on the jeepother welds on the frame and suspension brackets appear to have quality issues

The contact owns a 2020 jeep wrangler. While driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle pulled to the right. While parked, the front passenger side of the vehicle leaned downward. The vehicle was taken to autonation jeep (9980 east arapaho rd, inglewood, co) where it was discovered that the subframe was bent. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,700. The vin was invalid.

The contact owns a 2020 jeep wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle swayed left to right requiring the contact to overcorrect the steering to keep the vehicle in a straight line. The vehicle was taken to baxter chrysler dodge jeep ram omaha (17950 burt st, omaha, ne 68118) where it was inspected and determined that the front wheels were out of balance and needed to be realign. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 20v042000 (suspension) as a possible solution to the failure however, the vin was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 600.*dtconsumer stated she returned the vehicle in.

My vehicle is not subject to the same recall as other jeeps but has the same steering vibration dampener defect. After hitting a bridge seam across the highway or a pothole the wheel and steering column shake uncontrollably forcing me to slow and attempt to get off the highway.

Excessive free play in the steering on left side.

I am unable to maintain my lane at all while driving this vehicle. It can be concerning to drive like this especially on the interstate. If you get to close to the edge of the road on non interstate roads it will pull you straight off the road.

The rear window above the swing gate blew out on the highway. Just suddenly exploded outward with no warning. Traveling 70mph on highway in good weather 80 f sunny day

Bought our vehicle new as you drive down rode the faster you go the harder it is to control steering to stay in your lane. Reported it to dealership they won't take it on main road to drive faster than 35 says it's a jeep thing. This is constant hard to handle while in regular drive mode.

I purchased this vehicle on 30 october 2020. I drove for 38 miles total. On november 1st at approximately 02|:30 a.m. The vehicle caught after being parked for more than 15 hours. Total mileage on the vehicle 131 miles.

At speeds above 40mph the vehicle just wants to wander usually to the drivers side. Have to constantly over correct to keep it straight.there isa bad leak allowing outside air to enter the vehicle on the drivers side.

The infotainment screen will freeze when the backup camera is active. May lead to an accident since the screen may give impression you are clear but it is actually frozen.

Windshield major damage from a small insignificant impact.

On 4 occasions, the vehicle demonstrated sudden unintended acceleration.all events occurred while coming to a gradual stop applying the brakes normally.each time, the vehicle engine suddenly revved high and shot forward [into an intersection once through a stop sign!].on all occasions, the accelerator peddle was not depressed and the floor mat was not interfering.only by split-second response on my part was i able to avoid a collision with the vehicle in front of me.it happened over several days--not just a single period or session.

Driver side sun visor, moving from the frontal position to the side position fell out and jammed between the brake and the gas petal. Falling out caused me to swerve and i was unable to apply the brake.

Back up warning system is malfunctioning.when the car is put into reverse, a constant loud tone starts.this is a safety issue as it masks alerts when there is someone or something actually behind the car.dealer says this is normal.however, this did not happen until dealer installed after market wheels and tires.

I have been back to the dealership multiple times, 4 soft top replacement and or repairs also other visits... Also 1 soft top replacement. Water leaks, top literally coming off/ out of frame at speeds over 30 mph. 2 of the tops had friction burn/ tears and the 3rd is doing the same thing but worse. Carpets are saturated with water days after raining. The jeep has been in the repair shop or in my driveway unable to use when it rains, over speeds of 30 mph. Currently the top has a big opening that cane lose above the driver side windshield and air and or rain mists into my face. I have asked to have it replaced with a hard top or a vinyl soft top multiple times to see if that would help, even tho i purchased the vehicle with the 'black and tan' package which consists of tan canvas soft top and tan interior, black exterior. They stated 'they (the dealer)can not do that because of the vin #' but then stated i could buy one from them. As of today my 2020 jeep with approximately 4,800 sits in my driveway out of service. I purchased/leased a new vehicle because i have congestive heart failure, multiple dr. Appointments, a new born baby and 2 other children, i need a reliable vehicle. The jeep is unsafe for myself and drivers behind me, fearing the top may completely come off while driving and or metal frame.

When in the automatic shut off mode, the car will lurch forward forcefully when trying to park.the vehicle will jump the cement parking barriers and can cause the vehicle to hit what is beyond the barrier, such as the wall of the building beyond the barrier.

Sun visor attach pivot point broke. Passenger side in october and the drivers side0n 03/29/2021.this is something that will happen over and over again. Very bad design. It happened when i was driving into the sun and i loweredmy visor and then the plastic shaft broke.

The front window defroster only blows air onto the windshield in middle and most of the passenger side. I get no air flow to driver side. I took it into the dealer and they checked 3 others on their lot and they had the same problem.

While the jeep has defrost vents across the whole windshield, it only blows hot air from the center, leaning the sides of the windshield to collect snow and ice, even with defrost on its highest setting.

Front windshield fails to defrost during cold driving conditions, allowing snow/ice to build up, directly impacting the driver's ability to see clearly out the front windshield.vehicle was in motion, but has also happened when parked waiting to try and defrost so i could see clearly out of the front windshield. Defroster, on high full heat does not reach the left and right portions of the windshield.

The windshield defroster doesn't reach the outer portions of the windshield which results in dangerous driving conditions in cold weather.i have to turn the heat all the way on high and the fan all the way up to the point where it is hurting my eyes and it still doesn't prevent ice on the left and right sides.i have to lean to the right to see through my windshield.this happens while sitting still, driving, etc. It happens anytime the weather is below freezing and there are wet conditions
