The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler x rhd 4x4. The contact stated that the air bag light illuminated intermittently.the vehicle was not inspected or repaired and the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The current mileage was approximately 26,000 and the failure mileage was approximately 25,500.

Electrical system failure - twice my jeep wrangler x 4x4 stalled and lost power while i was driving 65-70 mph on a major freeway in high traffic. Both cases are virtually identical. First occurrence was in feb. 17, 2007 and the 2nd time was today, april 23rd. I had been driving for about 30-40 minutes before the power loss occurred. The car lost power, jerking like it had been down shifted incorrectly. All the lights on the dashboard turned on, the radio turned off and the gas bell rang. Within 3-5 seconds the car jerked sharply as the power came back on. I brought the car in to the dealership service center after the first incident and was told that they couldn't find the problem but they had "uploaded some new software". I asked if they had received any complaints of this type of electrical failure and was told no. I am bringing it back in again tomorrow morning. With no way to pull off the freeway, i was extremely lucky not to have been hit by the 18 wheeler that was right behind me during the first incident and the fast moving traffic behind me today. There were two other electrical incidents that happened during the last week in march. On march 28th, i started the car everything worked as normal but the radio wouldn't turn on and the clock wasn't on. After being on the road for an hour the radio and clocked came on by themselves. On march 29th, the passenger airbag light came on after i had been driving 10 minutes - there was nothing on the seat - it went off about 40 minutes later. I made an appointment that day to bring the car in on sat. March 31st, when i got there i was told that the tech's that handle the electrical work aren't in on saturdays. I will have them look at this tomorrow too.

The2007 jeep wrangler unlimited x, otherwise known as the jk,lost engine power twice while driving 55 mph, and the electricaland engine shut off for 3-5 seconds and came back on. The electronic throttle for the gas pedal wentinto the default mode, where it won't go over 45 mph ,and the traction control shut off at this time also. Thishappened while drivingat 55-60 mph. Also, the compass shut off also at a different time. Each time i had to pull off the road and restart the jeep , and every thing worked again.

Vehicle loses power to accelerator at random, unpredictable times (could be at a stop sign, could be while traveling on a highway, and does not matter if car is hot or cold). Warning light (lightning bolt) flashes on the dashboard, and accelerator is sluggish to respond or unresponsive altogether. I have nearly been in two accidents while pulling into traffic because cars starts to go, but then loses power and the accelerator takes about 3-4 seconds to recognize i am stepping on it. I have had it into chrysler dealership three times now, and they are unable to diagnose the issue. First time the accelerator pedal assembly was replaced. The second time, the pcm module (drivetrain computer/module) was replaced in its entirety. Problem started occurring around 30,000 miles, and has continued since (now at 41,500). Has nearly caused me to be in two bad accidents, which caused other cars to swerve/skid around me because i was stopped broadside in roadway. They would not acknowledge problem until they made me drive them around our city, and prove to them what happens. Luckily it happened while he was in the car with me, but the service techs are unable to diagnose the problem and continue to work with chrysler engineers to no avail. Other instances include being stopped at a red light on a hill, and not being able to go forward in time, and nearly drifting backwards into vehicles behind me. This requires use of heavy foot on gas and emergency brake. Additionally, vehicle is a 6 speed manual, and sometimes 'pops' out of first gear while starting from a stop position. This issue has happened for the last 5,000 miles approximately but is becoming more common (nearly daily). I believe they will be able to diagnose this issue and correct it (common problem according to my internet research), however it does not appear they have a handle on the first issue. I have been told to leave my vehicle at the dealership until they can diagnose and fix the problem, it's not safe.

There was not a fire but thought there was and 911 was called. I had the oil changed in march and again in july. In septermber there was a clicking noise coming from the engine and i pulled into a drive way and shut off the engine. I asked someone to look at it and when they tried to start the engine smoke came out of the vents and engine would not turn over. Turns out, that the jeep had no oil in it and the engine burned up. The repair for a new engine is $5200. There were no warning lights at all. No "change oil notice", "low oil pressure" light, "overtemp" light, or "check engine" light. Had there been some kind of warning light before i ruined the engine it would not be so costly.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler x rhd 4x4. While driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle stalled and all the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was driven to livonia chrysler jeep (30777 plymouth rd, livonia, mi 48150) where it was diagnosed that the totally integrated power module needed replacement. Also, for the past two years, the steering wheel shook severely when the vehicle was driven above 50 mph. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

In feb 2015 my 07 jeep wrangler started making odd noises and running poorly than is stopped. My jeep had 69,500 miles on it and a service was done within 1,500 miles. It was towed to the service center- it did not have a drop of oil in it and the engine was blown. There was no indication of a oil leak anywhere! no warning lights came on either. Jeep refused to even listen or assist in any way. $6k later...... I have a new engine and check it every week!now when i park and get back in the jeep it wont start- wont even turn over. It will finally start after 4-5 turns of the key. Its not heat, not distance, nothing being left on, not consistent- there is no rhyme or reason at all!! a man in a gas station heard me trying to start the jeep and came over and shared this- push on the shifter really hard and it will start- it did and has every time now. When i stop i just make sure i push on the shifter. There is no recall and no service bulletin but is normal in the 07 it appears.

Engine stalls while driving at any speed.the computer module has been reprogrammed but the problem still exists.after the engine stalls, many of the dash lights illuminate including, but not limited to, the esp/bas, brake, oil, battery, ignition, engine, airbag lights.the vehicle will start once the computer has reset and the warning lights dim. I've been to two different dealers three separate times since the problem began with no result.

I hit a bump and my jeep started shaking like a dog that is all wet.the only way to stop it was to slow down almost to a complete stop. Then it is fine for a while.this is not safe at all.called the dealership and they said that there was a recall on this problem, but my jeep was not one of them,so i will have to pay for this out of my own pocket.reading so other post i am not the only one that has this problem.has anybody figured out what will fix this????

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler x rhd 4x4.the contact stated that the roof of the vehicle is leaking.he also stated that the engine has stalled numerous times, most recently while accelerating to 15 mph from a stop.the engine completely shuts off during this failure.the contact stated that the starter remains engaged as well.the current mileage is 11,000 and failure mileage was 400.

My 2007 jeep was in the shop for various repairs, however this one took the cake!i arrived home from work (6 miles away) when i noticed smoke coming out from under the hood.i found it was overheating, no indicator light to warn me, temperature gauge was at normal but the smell of anti-freeze was present. Towed it to the dealer and found the heater hose assembly, to be melted through from the "bad" design, of having it too close to the engine. Also it appeared to have two slices in the hoses , where the clamps were too close to the bend in the hoses.it cost me over $100.00 to have it fixed.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler x rhd 4x4.while driving 35 mph under normal driving conditions, the vehicle's engine stalled and shut off without warning.on another occasion, when the contact attempted to accelerate, the engine stalled and shut completely off.while driving 10 mph and attempting to brake, the same failure recurred at 2,100 miles.the engine was able to be restarted each time.the vehicle is currently at the dealer.the engine size was unavailable.the current mileage is 28,000 and failure mileage was 2,000.

Gas gushes out when filling up gas tank even though the safety cutoff on the pump has engaged.

2007 jeep wrangler jk unlimited, every time you put fuel in the tank it belches about a quarter gallon of fuel back out the spout and all over the vehicle and person filling the vehicle. No matter how you try to fill it does it every time. This is a common problem with all wranglers 2007-2010. Jeep jk forum has hundreds of hits with complaints on this problem. Consequences are fuel on the ground, vehicle and person will lead to a fire and injury. Jeep is aware of this but does nothing with a recall tanks need to be replaced. I have entered today date but this is occurring year round.

Jk/ gas tank overflows/will not shut off.on more then 1 occasion the gas tank on my 2007 jk jeep wrangler has failed to shut off when filling up and spills all over therear of the jeep and the ground.2 jeep dealers in fairfax, vahave told me that i needed a new tank.i have an extended warranty with intercontinental warranty service (iws) and they refuse to authorize the work.i am in the process of canceling the warranty and filing a complaint against them.a of right now i still need a gas tank but cannot find one online, seems only dealers have them right now for 2007-2010 model years.also the soft top leaks very bad at the top of the door/roof pillars both sides when it rains. Also have had this in to the same 2 jeep dealers and both say i need a to as it is a design flaw.both has leak specialists look at it and replace header and door seals but still leaks just as bad.as a life long jeep owner i am completely fed up with the jeep brand. A little searching on the internet tells me that these 2 issues are well known but that jeep is refusing to address them so people like me have to pay more money out of pocket. These 2 issues are clearly safety related, gas spilling out and hitting a hot exhaust is a major problem, the same with water getting into the electrical system.

Fuel spills out of the spout when i fill up my 2007 jeep wrangler.

Fuel, a few cups overflows when filling up, i don't fill anymore.

While trying to put gas into my 2007 jeep jk wrangler unlimited, fuel started to pour out the underside.i took my vehicle to the mechanic and they informed me that a large crack was on the filler neck that is attached to the fuel tank. They also informed me that due to the discoloration of the plastic inlet it has been leaking for a while. Upon removing the tank, they also discovered that the spring inside the nozzle is highly defective. Apparently, the spring is supposed to push back once the fuel tank is full.as a jeep owner for years i?m extremely angry that an inexpensive part made poorly could of cost the life of my family, friends and anything within range if a fire erupted.chrysler should recall these defective tanks immediately. I can provide photos of the filler neck and nozzle.

While fueling my 2007 jeep wrangler when the pump clicks off gas pours out of my tank and has splashed all over me several times. This is very dangerous and happens every time i get gas.the car and myself can catch fire.this cannot wait until a tragedy occurs.

Engine light comes on and off. Gas cap signal appears and disappears. Engine has stalled x2. When applying brakes going down hill (15mph),vehicle shook a little like anti-lock system was in full effect. All recall notices have been taken care of at dealers.

I took my jeep to the dealership to take a look at gas tank sensor, i heard that was a recall, everytime i fill my tank, the gas nozzle doesn't stop and you see gas spilling all over. The dealership said he fixes as its shown on their dignose.haven't drove since then, today i drove it and it had 1/4 gas in the tank, i stopped by the gastation to fill up the tank, found out that it doesn't allow any more gas in the tank and gas spilling all over again, the gas gauge is working along with fuel warning signal, its so weird and unsafe.

While driving vehicle and getting ready to park, gear shift locked.able to shift to park but instrument panel continues to show drive.unable to start vehicle- stuck on drive.

Electronic throttle control fails causing the engine to stall during normal driving conditions.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler. The contact stated the vehicle shifted out of first gear and third gear without warning while driving approximately 25 mph. The vehicle was a manual transmission. The contact had to hold the gear shift in place in order to keep it from shifting from one gear to another on its own. The contact stated the failure only occurred during inclement weather. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle also needed a new transmission.the failure mileage was 50 and the current mileage was 48000.

Traveling approx 15-20 mph down hill at medium grade in rush hour traffic, had to make an emergency stop, stamped both feet on clutch and brake firmly with out let up...brake physically fought back not allowing brake to fully depress or catch and allowed vehicle to continue forward, only fully depressing once had crashed into vehicle in front of me. This vehicle has had a recall on it with electronic control module issues in the brakes, was taken to dealership and reprogrammed approximately two months prior to incident.

Had my jeep wrangler in for problems with the brakes chugging (which was mentioned when the vehicle was still under warranty, but couldn't duplicate). They explained the service attendant could not find anything, however they didn't test drive it. I then insisted and they found a rotor was bad. Before it was taken in to the garage i checked the brake fluid and it was down to the minimum line. The brakes had continued to get spongy and not responding. The repairs to this was $312.00! i was told by the dealership, that chrysler has used thin metal on the rotors causing these problems.

It's the 5th time this has happened.while driving my jeep wrangler at more than 45 miles an hour the front end begins to shake uncontrollably.i begin to lose control.i have to apply brakes and nearly stop at highway speeds causing safety issues for other drivers.chrysler has admitted to the issue and has issued a service bulletin 19-002-12.this first happened when my jeep was under warranty and they fixed it.this is a serious safety concern.

I was driving on a 4 lane highway at 60mph when the car started vibrating so violently i thought i had lost a wheel.i could barely control the car and was surrounded by 18 wheelers.i was horrified.i pulled onto the shoulder and got out expecting to see a flat tire but everything looked fine.i got back in and drove down the road only to have it happen again when i went over 55mph.i called emergency service and had it towed to the dealership.they "fixed" it and charged me for the work done.but when i drove it again at 53mph when i hit a bump it started vibrating again.i now never drive over 50mph over the fear of it happening again.i looked it up on the internet and it is called death wobble and jeep will not help us.i have not altered my vehicle at all.this is a dangerous defect and needs a recall before someone dies.please do something before it is too late.it is like driving on the worst washboard road you ever saw at 60mph surrounded by traffic.it is a recipe for disaster. The car shakes so violently that the wheels wobble.please look it up on the internet.a reporter in california did a story on it.please do a recall.i have been driving jeeps since 1986 and this is the 4th jeep i have owned.this has never happened to me before.my last jeep had 131,000 miles on it and i had no problems.jeep has obviously changed the design or is using cheaper parts.this is not good for the jeep brand.

Water leak:i purchased a 2007 jeep wrangler x unlimited on 06-26-10.on 06-28-10i was (out of town of vacation) driving in a rain storm when i noticed to carpeting in the back passenger floor board was wet.i have been able to determine that the water is leaking from the top of the vehicle running down the frame between the front and back doors onto the floor board.upon returning home from vacation i contacted number 1 auto from where i had purchased the vehicle.i advised the salesman of the wet carpet and anon-functioning cd player.at that time he said they would fix it i just needed to make an appointment with the mechanic.i have had the jeep back 3 times now for continue water in the rear floor boards of the jeep after being in rain.last nigh (08-03-10)t, after yet another rain storm, i removed 2 quarts of water from the rear driverside and passenger side floor boards. Today (08-04-10) i contacted the chrysler corporation who said, "it's out of warranty, it's up to you as to how you want to perceive it."i advised the customer service representative that i have researched this problem and have found that there has been a multitude of the same complaints regarding the 2007 model jeep wrangler both hard and soft tops and there are numerous occasions posted where chrysler had offered to buy the jeep back or replace witha different chrysler vehicle as long as it was not another jeep wrangler.the customer service representative replied, "i've never heard of such a problem."

Jeep death wobble breaking front control arm and track bar bracket causing loss of steering shooting the vehicle across 2 lanes road, thankfully no on coming traffic and was able to stop vehicle in grass prior to the ditch. Second episode of this, 1st episode that caused bracket failure and the bracket was fixed, alignment and all front suspension components were checked, jeep continues to do death wobble and is a hazard to drive. This incident happened at about 51 mph, previous incidents have happened with out equipment failure ranging from 45mph - 52mph. I am afraid that injuries will happen if chrysler does not address this matter as it is well documented on the internet with 2007-2012 jeep wranglers and it being a manufacturer's flaw on these models.

While driving on the roadway and i hit a bump the steering wheel and tires begin violently shaking. I have researched this for over a year and have replaced several things in my front end without luck. My jeep was completely stock prior to this incident. This happens more often during the winter as i have put up with this for the second winter now. I have taken the jeep to 2 dealerships in my area and they both told me they have never heard of the problem. As everyone knows that has experienced the "death wobble" before it is extremely common and jeep wont admit to the problem. This is a huge problem and will injure someone sooner or later. Sadly my fellow jeep owners and i, love our jeeps and just continue to put up with the problem. Please help us push jeep into fixing our jeeps and redesigning future jeeps.

"death wobble" with 2007 jeep wrangler unlimited.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler x.the current and failure mileage were 300.there was a deep channel thatwas in the outer ring of the wheel . The space waslarge and itcollectedwater and debris.while driving all of the debris from the road was in the wheel, and this caused the vehicle to drive in a weird way.while driving at speeds of 55 mph the wheel launched a piece of debris.the dealer agreed that there was a major designproblem, and told him justto be careful while driving at elevated speeds.daimler/chrysler stated that there was nothing that they could do about theproblembecause there was no part to service the defect.during testing of the vehicle the manufacturer noticed that the rear coil springs were weak.

Shortly after purchasing this vehicle i had problems with the rear window washer leaking inside the vehicle. I needed a new complete assembly. So far i haven't had another problem with this unit.
