Air bag light came on while driving down the road. It was reported that the clock spring needed to be replaced. The air bags will not deploy at this time. The cruise control will not work either.the clock spring will need to be placed with an estimate cost of $500. 00.

Over the last 2 year, i have been having issues starting my jeep. It would not crank at all 2 or 3 times and than start with no problems. It would be fine for a few days and than do it again. Morning, afternoon, when raining or snowing, it is unpredictable.starting 3 days ago, my air bag light is coming on when turning left and than would go off after a few minutes of driving. Today, i had it checked at work and it came up as the driver side air bag is the source of the problem. I drove to big o dodge in greenville and the service department just blew me off telling me that their is no recalls or problems with my jeep. But i happened to know one of the technician there that told me on my way out that they are having some issue with the wranglers concerning these issues. So i decided to look online and come across a lot of similar complain on forums concerning my issues and than came across your web site.[xxx], phone [xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).'

Takatarecall.i was given a recall notice early in 2016 . The jeep dealer in n miami said the parts were on back order and they will notify when they arrive.nothing has happened in 1 year.i am most apprehensive to drive the vehicle on major roads .this is a life threatening problem and nothing is being done .please advise

I noticed a few months after purchasing my used 2007 jeep wrangler sahara unlimited that on occasion, no particular speed or incident, the airbag light would indicate on that dash for the passenger side seat airbag even when no one and nothing would be seated in passenger seat. During one of my oil change/service appointments that i regularly keep i asked if they could identify the issue and had stated it may just be an electrical sensor issue in the seat itself that had been damaged with an unsubstantiated weight placed in the seat, such as a bag or small child, that affected the sensor was not rated for. I was doing a recall search for my vehicle, none listed, but noticed complaints filed for many vehicles of the same make and model for this very same issue i'm having with the airbag indicator. Date investigation opened: may 23, 2011date investigation closed: nov 07, 2011nhtsa action number: pe11019component(s): air bags i'm simply filing this complaint to indicate my vehicle appears to have the same issue indicated and if any action is taken to correct it i'd like to be alerted so as to have the issue resolved on my vehicle.

When driving especially in hot conditions the air bag dash light comes on and continues to ding. I have already had the sensor changed and it continues to do it.

Drivers side air bag light comes on intermittently. Dealer says it is the clockspring and is not covered by warranty. I have heard of other people with this same series of jeep (2007-2011wrangler) .and having the same problem. As this is a very important safety feature in current automobiles i would expect there would be some investigation into multiple failures.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler sahara. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v352000 (air bags); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Vin tool confirms parts not available.

Airbag light come on for 2-3 seconds and turn off for 5 second to 1 minutes and come back on. Now light is permanently on.this could be related to the takata recall but my vehicle is not included.

That's is not acceptable, i didn't have time to get my bag and wallet, my car was on flames. Chrysler need to do something about it. We need some answers.my car was in motion, in a highway.

Death wobble-have had this problem repaired and comes back. Cannot drive over 55 mph in city or highway without entire car starting to violently shake. Will shake for about a minute and stop on its own. Very scary and dangerous. Have had this problem for over a year

Jeep 2007 wrangler unlimited 4 door hard starting - cranks and cranksetc light comes on and vehicle loses power.

Drove up to my house and parked the jeep (after driving 8-10 miles).went inside the house.within 10 minutes went back outside and smoke was boiling out from under the hood and it was dripping fire on the ground.fully involved very quickly.

My car caught on fire while driving from ok to tx, before the fire my brakes went out and my wheel was locked.between a minute of running out of the car with my baby my car was completely in flames, my jeep was at the dealer 2 weeks ago for service, i never have a dashboard warning, car was working perfectly until caught in fire, oh before my breaks went out my car started to lost power and the fire started under the hood (passenger seat) we need some answers, that's not fsir....updated 08/08/16 ...updated 08/30/16

The fuse box caught fire/wire harness melted and was smoking before someone was able to disconnect the battery to stop more damage.

My jeep will start but no gauges or light on dash come on, the wipers turn on at full power.when this happens the jeep will not shift out of park.i have been told the tipm is causing the issues.

Vehicle stalls out in traffic, despite battery being fully charged. With a restart, the battery symbol remains illuminated, and eventually the vehicle will stall out again. Occurred in heavy traffic creating traffic hazard. Remains a recurring problem that is only remedied by completely shutting off engine and waiting several minutes, then restarting it and checking to confirm that the battery symbol is no longer illuminated. Sometimes a battery jump-start is required. One dangerous alternative is to turn off the ignition while vehicle is rolling, restarting the vehicle, but obvious hazards of locked steering wheel, loss of control and possible crashes would result.

When i turn the key it reads invalid skim key and will not crank unless the key is pushed into the cylinder when a great deal of force.

After fighting with jeep customer service i had to pay for a set of recommended upgraded wrangler silent armor tires. Jeep "strongly suggested" that i do this even though my old tires, original jeep wrangler tires, were in good condition. Jeep refused to pay for the tires even though it acknowledged the death wobble hadworn patterns in the old tires. Jeep put in a mopar stabilizer, and insisted this would cure the manufacturing defect.two weeks after installation of the new tires and new stabilizer/damper by the authorized jeep service provider, the death wobble recurred. I immediately took it to the jeep dealership and the death wobble was replicated by the service manager who drove the wrangler while i was sitting in the passenger seat. After haggling, jeep agreed to replace the stabilizer. This is still in the process of being resolved. Several things to remember: (1) call jeep, regardless of the year of your vehicle or warranty status. Please, don't let jeep customer service tell you that your vehicle is out of warranty and they are not accountable. Known manufacturing defects have no warranty limitations and recalls can be made regardless of out-of-warranty status. (2) press jeep for reimbursement for all out-of-pocket expenses you've made trying to fix their problem. I was not 100% successful, but i am still appealing to them, especially since repairs were made by their own dealership. My next step will be the small claims court, if not federal. (3) report this problem to the nhtsa! the death wobble is real and it puts lives at risk. If there are no complaints, there are no recalls or fixes, and lives will be lost, if they haven't already. (4) ask your friends and family members if they've noticed this problem. Unfortunately, many drivers think it's an isolated issue. It is not, and jeep is aware of it.

I bought my jeep 12/12/16 and it had 43,319 miles on it. On 2/7/17 at 45,233 miles i had the first engine replacement done.on 5/17/17 at 46,552 miles i had the transmission rebuilt.on 11/1/18 at 65,858 miles i had the second engine replacement.on 3/8/19 at 68,980 miles i had the third replacement engine installed.i got my jeep back on 4/15/19 and now i hear a ticking like sound and i'm told it could be an exhaust leak.also, before i got the third engine installed the jeep would pop out of first gear when i start to accelerate, just like before.i talked to the mechanic who rebuilt my transmission and he said this is a common problem with the 2007 jeep wrangler.he said he could fix it, but eventually it will start popping out of first gear again.

While driving on the highway, a loud knocking sound began to come from my engine compartment.as i slowed to exit (at the next interchange) the 3.8l v6 engine had a bearing seize and threw a rod out the bottom of the engine block.from the research that i have done this is not an isolated incident for chrysler.there have been many reports of this engine failing even with impeccable maintenance.i received no indications or warnings prior to the engine blowing.just as i slowed down the oil pressure indicator light illuminated but at that point it was too late.

My jeep with 86k miles engine blew.one week earlier when driving over 40 miles per hour it seemed to wobble a bit from left to right, i thought maybe it was because i had 4 wheel drive on.i have only owned it for a month and it is a 2nd vehicle and i was not sure if that was normal or not.then after not driving the vehicle for 4 days i moved it out of my driveway and was less then a block from my home when the oil light came on and half a block later the engine cut out.the car wouldnt start again and i had it towed to the dealer where i purchased it.they told me the internal fuel pump seemed to malfunction and the engine was blown!when i returned home i noticed a pool of oil in my driveway.this car sat for days and was barely driven by me since my purchase.how does an engine at 86k miles just blow?how does oil just dump out of a vehicle?why? well doing internet research it appears that this 2007 engine year there was a mistake in the engines where pistons were put in upside down?there was no recall for this and many 2007 jeeps have had this happen.i am lucky it happened on a local road, if i was driving 65 in middle lane of a highway and my engine just shut off i would be dead.i couldnt steer it.it just stopped..... I have tried calling chrysler and have been transfered many times to other people, i am at a loss of what to do.again, i have had this vehicle 1.5 months...

My jeep will start but no gauges or light on dash come on, the wipers turn on at full power.when this happens the jeep will not shift out of park.i have been told the tipm is causing the issues.

At approximately 60 mph my vehicle began shaking uncontrollably. The steering wheel, engine, entire jeep and there was nothing i could do to control or steer the vehicle. This has happened to me three times since june 2014. I have two children and have been on the highway each time it has happened and is terrifying!

My 2007 jeep wrangler 4-door sahara unlimited has experienced lower block defect with symptoms of large knocking noises. The oil had been changed regularly and without notice or low oil light indicator, at 75k miles, the engine is useless. Apparently, jeep dealers are repairing several of these defects although i see no other complaints at this site.

I have a jeep wrangler unlimited sahara 4wd, bought new in may 2007.since the 1st day, if i close all windows at the same time, the radio power cycles.this happens 90%+ of the time when i do it.

When the directional lever is put on for a right turn it does not always go off after the turn.instead it goes to a left signal.to turn it off i have to go back and forth with the lever several times until the signals go off.dealer won't fix it because it is hard to duplicate at the dealership.

My gas tank over flows and gas squirts out as i'm filling my gas tank.this happens every time i get gas.as soon as it nozzle chicks, gas squirts out first and then when i take the nozzle out, gas gushes out all down the jeep and onto the ground.gas is extremely expensive for me to lose gas each time.i am a commuter and gas up often.also, what is the gas spilling on my jeep doing to the paint?

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler unlimited sahara. The contact stated that when refueling the vehicle, the fuel would overflow once the fueling has stopped and the fuel tank was full. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technicians stated that the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted and stated they would cover fifty percent of the repair costs. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 54,000. 2007 jeep wrangler sahara, when fueling vehicle fuel spills out of tank.

Jeep 2007 wrangler unlimited.when filing the vehicle with gas the pump does not automatically shut off causing gas to overflow and spill down the side of the vehicle. As this situation has occurred at several filing stations and to other jeep owners i suspect this is a design flaw of the vehicle.

When re-fueling tank, a large amount of fuel overflows from filler neck as tank is nearing full. This problem occurs every time fuel pump is not manually stopped prior to tank reaching capacity. No fires or injuries have occurred, and nothing to date has been done to correct the problem.

While filling up my 2007 jeep wrangler sahara unlimited with gas, the gas seems to overfill and spit back out of the fuel fill neck. This occurs at different pumps with no apparent consistent factors. When the tank gets full and the pump clicks off all of a sudden about a half a gallon of gas, or more, spits back out of the neck onto me, the vehicle and the ground. It happens everytime i try to completely fill the tank. Now i have adapted my fill up strategy and fill only to what i think is near full and not let it click. Dealership says nothing can be done for free without a recall.

Gas spills over every time i fill up my 2007 jeep wrangler. It never automatically shuts off when that gas tank is nearly full no matter what gas station i go to.

Each time i fill up my 2007 jeep wrangler fuel overflows from the filler tube all over my jeep and the ground.i thought i was doing something wrong so i stopped using the clip that allows the fuel to flow without holding thehandle - this did nothing but get fuel all over me as well as the jeep and leave a large puddle on the ground.i checked with some friends who own jeeps as well as jeep blogs and as it turns out many jeep wrangler owners have the same problem - seems like a design flaw versus user error.

07 jeep wrangler:fuel spills out of the filler neck when the tank is filled.the fuel spits back out before the fuel pump auto shut-off clicks in.

Gas tanks spills fuels right after the click. No "topping off" of tank.

Fuel spill during a refuel of my 2007 jeep wrangler. It happens on every time i refuel and itis getting close to full. Pumps kicks off and at that precise moment the fuel backs up and spills.

2007 jeep wrangler jk sahara unlimited, issue started around 40,000 miles. Current mileage is 63,000 miles. Fuel tank overflows when filled at the pump. No matter what gas station i use, no matter what pump i use, the gas tank overflows on fill up. The handle for the pump has clicked off and stopped fueling, but gas spews out from the gas fill on my jeep and ground and a couple times even onto my clothing.i have had to go back home and change clothes because so much gas spewed onto my clothing.this is the second time i have filed for this issue. Chrysler issued a tsb 14-001-11 on february 11, 2011 for this but is only build dates of march 07- 08. My build date is in 2006. Granted, i have not incurred any damage, this is a safety hazard to myself and some gas stations have even had to shut down to clean up the spill. This is an ongoing issue for numerous jeeps and needs to include many different build dates outside of the recently issued tsb. Thank you for your time.

Fuel spraying out of fuel tank when filling up at pump.2007 jeep wrangler.this occurs on every fill up.no damage other than fuel spraying all over vehicle, fuel pump area, etc.

3rd fill up in 3 weeks, once again was filling up and gas poured all over side of my jeep and the ground when filling up.spilled approximately 3-4 quarts of fuel on the ground.

2007 jeep wrangler unlimited: fuel overflows everytime i fill the tank with gas.the fuel overflow does not seem to work properly.i have to slowly pump the last gallon to fill up or else it will overflow.there are multiple dates of this incident occurring.

Filled up my 2007 jeep wrangler sahara unlimited and the gas overflowed and sprayed in my face and eyes.i had to rush into the bathroom and flush my eyes and face with water.i does this everytime you fill up, this time it just got me in the face.needs to recalled and fixed.my dealer won't fix it under warranty since its been over 3 years.its gonna kill someone, what if it caught fire?not to mention the environmental impact of putting that much gas on the ground.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler sahara. The contact stated after refueling the vehicle it spew out of the filler neck. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance; however, they referred him to nhtsa. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 46,000. 2007 jepp wrangler, jk 2dr sahara. Fuel overflows/spits back/spills down side of vehicle when refueling. This has been a problem every time it has been refueled since.

When filling gas tank to full, fuel overflows and spills down the side of the vehicle.this is a potentially dangerous condition.

Every time i fill my tank up the pump nozzle does not shut of automatically and i get what seems like a half a gallon of fuel on the ground or on the side of my jeep. I've read many complaints about jeep owners having the same problem and its due to a faulty esim switch or something wrong with the whole gas tank on jeeps.

When we go to the gas station to fill our 2007 jeep wrangler, we engage the auto fill on the gas pump and every time gas spills out all over the side of the vehicle and onto the ground.checked path of hoses from tank to inlet and saw no visible problems that would cause this serious safety issue.i have not spoken with a dealer nor third party mechanic.please advise.

I have a 2007 jeep wrangler and while filling gas tank a (back splash) of fuel comes out.to me and everyone i have seen about this is a concern to the environment & the person doing the filling of the tank.very unsafe.

Fuel overflow from filler tube onto person pumping fuel, vehicle and surrounding environment.*ln

Everytime i fill up gas tank overflows and gas goes everywhere.

Steering/suspension.we have had issues with excessive wobbeling and swaying of our jeep.believe this to be premature failure of the tie rods and stabelizing system.this has been very dangerous.fuel system:gas will shoot out of the tank spilling fuel on the outside of the vehicle when fueling.

The vehicle quite frequently and unpredictably spits / spills fuel from the fuel filler port when re-fueling.this has resulted in numerous spills at the gas station and occasional spills on the operator. Sometimes it spills and sometimes it does not.....updated 08/20/15

2007 jeep wrangler jk - gas tank overflows when filling up.this is a very common problem with these jeeps creating a safety hazard when the gas spills out on the person filling the tank, on the side of the jeep and on the ground.it happens each and every time you fill up.

While filling up my 2007 jeep wrangler with gas, the gas seems to overfill and spit back out of the fuel fill neck. This occurs at different pumps with no apparent consistent factors. When the tank gets full and the pump clicks off all of a sudden about a half a gallon of gas, or more, spits back out of the neck onto me, the vehicle and the ground. It does not happen every time, i would say 2 or 3 out of every 10 times. Now i have adapted my fill up strategy and fill only to what i think is near full and not let it click, but this still seems dangerous to me. No other fix is known for this condition.

While filling up with gas on my 2007 jeep wrangler unlimited right after the auto shut off on the gas pump clicks gas surges out of the filler tube all over the side of the jeep and ground. (approximately 8 oz or so) does this now everytime i fill up if i let the gas pump use auto shut off.

Gas overflows when refueling and spills on floor and person refueling.

Gas overflows every time when filling up.

2007 jeep wrangler sahara edition 4wd. Gas overflows out of fuel filler when tank achieves full status.the auto shutoff on pump works and gas flow is cut off, however gas overflow valve in jeep appears faulty, gas shoots back out of tank.

I am having a problem with gasoline overflowing when the tank gets full. I have tried different gasoline stations and the same problem keeps occurring. I had one dangerous instance where gasoline splashed back onto a gas attendants sleeve and shoulder.

When filling fuel tank, auto shut off no longer prevents fuel spilling when tank is full.nozzle shuts off automatically, but approximately 1/2 quart of fuel is spilled onto the body, fender flare, bumper, and ground.occurs at every fuel fill-up since reaching 46,000 miles (48,000 now, so approximately 10 occurrences).

This problem started in 2010 every now and then, but is now happening each and every time i fill up. When filling the jeep with gas, the gas will overflow and splash out onto the person filling, the side of the jeep, the bumper, and all over the ground. Creating a safety, fire, and health hazard.

Fuel spills out of filler neck with auto fill, will loose up to a pint of fuel down side of vehicle and on to the ground. Started after about 18 months of use, dealer never heard of problem and had no idea of how to fix.

I have recently purchased this vehicle and while refueling my jeep the pump wouldn't shut off on its own until a pint to quart of fuel spilled out of the inlet.this has happened every time i put fuel in the vehicle.now i listen to the inlet to hear it coming to the top and when it's almost full i stop the flow, but i still end up covered in fuel which burns the skin and is harmful to the environment.i am on an army base so secondary containment is extremely important and every time i fill up i have to put a mat under my fuel inlet.

Everytime i go to fuel up my 2007 jeep wrangler unlimited sahara, gasoline spills all over the car and ground. I have even gotten gasoline on me a couple of times. Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

2007 jeep wrangler unlimited fuel spills out when refueling. Every time i refuel, no matter if i use the auto pump or not, it will run out on the side of the vehicle.

Gas tank overflows after gas pump auto shuts off the first time.i am not overfilling the tank.this has happened numerous times in the last several months.

While filling up my 07 jeep wrangler jk, fuel spit back during refueling.the pump handle shut off, but approximately 1/2 to 1/2 gallon of gas poured out of my jeep, dousing me in fuel.it has happened twice at 2 different gas stations.once on feb. 10-2012 @ 55,879 miles, and again on feb. 16-2012 at 56,123 miles.

2007 jeep sahara unlimited. Fuel overflows out of the filler tube when refueling. Spills onto the vehicle, the ground, and sometimes the person fueling.

When fueling the vehicle gas will shoot out of the fuel hole when the tank nears full. Pouring gas all over the vehicle and on the ground and you, if your standing near the vehicle fueling area. The pump handle will click off but that's to late when you hear the handle click off you better jump back unless you want gas on you.

Fuel tank over flows when filling up

When filling fuel tank with gas, the fuel will spill out of the filler neck after the pump is shut off.i am not topping off.this happens everytime i fill up and is unavoidable.there are many complaints on the jeep forum of the same issues.this is a major safety issue that must be addressed asap.

2007 jeep wrangler gas over flows.

Every time i fill the jeep up, it overflows either on to the vehicle, myself, or the ground. It is a very serious fire hazard that i know is a common problem.

Fuel spills out of my 2007 jeep wrangler when i fill up. This happens every time i fill the jeep up. This condition generally occurs when the fuel tank is filled to the full or nearly full level and the gas pump automatically shuts or clicks off.

Jeep wrangler jk spills fuel out the filler neck during refueling.this is caused by a faulty back flow preventer in the gas tank.chrysler has acknowledged a problem and offered an extended warranty to replace the fuel tanks of vehicles built during specified build dates.however this does not cover all the vehicles affected with this problem.it is a known issue and chrysler refuses to take any action.every fill up creates a potentially dangerous situation and spills hazardous material into the environment.

While fueling up the 2007 jeep wrangler sahara unlimited the fuel spills out of the fill port causing gas to spill over the vehicle and the ground. This has happened on numerous occasions.

When filling the vehicle gas tank at standard gas pumps, the fuel routinely spills over and out the fuel fill hole after the pump shuts off.approximately 100ml of gas will shoot out of the gas tank once the pump has clicked off.

When re-fueling, the pump clicks when full to shut off but the tank "burps" out fuel all over the side of the vehicle and the ground. It doesn't matter what gas station you use or how fast or slow you pump - it happens everytime.

When refueling the gas will spray out of the port when it is reaching full before the pump will kick off. I have gotten gas on my shoes and pants several times. It has even sprayed out so bad before that gas got on another person on the other side of the pump. It is almost impossible to fill up without spilling everywhere.

When filling up the gas tank on my 2007 jeep wrangler the fuel spills out when the filler nozzle shuts off. This gets fuel on me, the side of the jeep and the ground.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler sahara. The contact stated that when filling up the fuel tank, the pump failed to shut off when the vehicle was full. The gas would overflow out of the tank at times when it was full instead of shutting off the pump. The dealer is familiar with the failure and an appointment was scheduled and then cancelled. The vehicle has not been repaired to-date. He retrieved a service bulletin from the dealer which outlined the problem. He called the manufacturer and filed a complaint. The current mileage was approximately 55,000. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

2007 jeep wrangler.when filling up gas tank the fuel overflows when full level is reached, spilling out of tank nozzle onto vehicle, ground and on person installing the fuel.this happens every time.

When feeling my 07 jeep wrangler it always overflows with gas. When it overflows the gas goes all over the side of my jeep and on the ground.

Filling up my jeep wrangler (2007) when the pump clicks off it will overflow and spill gas on the ground, side of jeep and on my shoes.

When filling the parked, shut-off vehicle with gasoline there is regular spillover. Regardless of gas station and pump, the pump does not detect fill and automatically shut off. This has been a frequent issue for about a year.

The vehicle cannot be allowed to fill up on standard auto shutoff pumps. The fuel will rush out in a sudden backsplash. The situation creates the highest risk for fire and conflagration. The 08 and later wranglers have a recall, but the 07 does not. The 07 is the same body style as the 08 and later. Nhtsa has claimed that media sensationalism has hyped public opinion on the matter. Unfortunately, i have to deal with the possibility of death and fire every time i fill up at the pump because nhtsa refuses to force the manufacturer to fix the issue. Nhtsa needs to wake up and address the problem.

When filling the gas tank as the tank reaches it's full point the fuel will spew out, spilling fuel over my hand and down the vehicle.this is not from over fueling; it will happen whether i use the latch on the gas pump handle or not.it began happening randomly but as time passes it happens with nearly every refueling.i've taken it to the dealership when it first happened (while under warranty) and they could not replicate the problem and thus sent me on my way.it has continued to happen since, getting progressively worse.

When filling the vehicle with gas, pump does not automatically shut off and gas spills out. I have to try and listen for the fuel to come up the fill pipe but it is difficult to gauge and hear. This is very dangerous as well as costly. This is the only vehicle i have had/heard of that has this issue. I know other jeep jk owners who also experience this.

Every time i fill the jeep with gas, about a cup of fuel spills back out of the filler neck before the pump shuts off.

Fuel splashes out of filler neck when automatic pump nozzle shuts off.

I originally took my jeep in to the dealer ship because every time i would fill up the gas would overflow. They said that they replaced he filler neck because there was a recall on that. Now it takes 30 minutes to fill up the tank from 1/4 tank because the gas pump will click off every 2 seconds.

Fuel spit back problem, everytime i fuel up gas pukes out and doesnt cut off when its full

Gasoline splillover when filling vehicle at all gas stations/pumps. Vehicle turned off. Pump set to fill or manually held, the issue occurs. This has been ongoing since december 2017 though putting current date/last fill up below.

When refueling the vehicle, gas gushes out of the filler tube at the end of the fueling process.

Shifting the 4-wheel drive transfer case (tc) from 2hi to 4hi or 4low (or in reverse order) can cause the transfer case shifting cable (tcsc) (mopar part 52060462ag) to fail and become disconnected from either the tc or the shift lever in the cab (or both). The part''s plastic components are inherently too weak to withstand normal use. Safety risks which can arise upon component failure, if the vehicle owner and their family (children) are at a location and/or terrain where the vehicle is designed/marketed for travel (whether by recreation or necessity), and the location/terrain is: (i) subject to inclement weather (e.g. Snow, ice, flooding, extreme heat); or (ii) on an extreme incline which is unsafe to negotiate without 4wd; or (iii) any circumstance which requires 4wd to navigate to a safe location; or (iv) the tcsc fails when the tc becomes stuck in the neutral position while shifting, and is unable to escape impending harm (flash flood) ... There is obvious risk to life/safety. The owner has a right to rely on the components and reasonable safety performance for which the product is designed/marketed. Jeep is aware of the issue, and the manual fails to cite this as a possible catastrophic event, leaving the unsuspecting owner at a loss in an emergency situation. It is not reasonable for this component to fail within a few thousand miles as reported by jeep owners. Advance adapters (www.advanceadapters.com) manufactures a tcsc which meets the criteria (product# 715596) required for this component. There is no reason that jeep cannot do the same and/or contract with advance adaptors to supply the part to jeep owners. We urge nhtsa's investigation of this safety defect and jeep will redesign the defective part and issue a recall for affected vehicles on which the part was installed as oem and to extend the warranty to replacement for life of the vehicle.

My 2007 4 door jeep sahara wrangle pops out of 1st gear when i begin from a full stop. It occurs once or twice a week. My jeep currently has 43,000 miles on it. The trouble began in september 2010.

While pulling out of a driveway, my jeep jumped out of 1st gear. As i let off of the clutch and began to roll it violently jumped out of gear. I had enough speed for my jeep to actually enter traffic. By the time i figured out what had actually happened i was in traffic and was almost hit by an oncoming car.this is a well known problem and jeep is only offering to repair it if it is under warranty. My jeep only has 53k miles on it and it has done this a few times over the last couple of months.in my opinion jeep should recall this as a safety recall before someone is injured or killed.

My jeep will start but no gauges or light on dash come on, the wipers turn on at full power.when this happens the jeep will not shift out of park.i have been told the tipm is causing the issues.

2007 jeep wrangler saraha - smoke/steam coming out from under the front of the hood (twice).i have taken it to the dealership and they "could not find any leaks"yesterday, my transmission was slipping, stalling me in the path of online traffic.this vehicle is only 2 years old and i am a single mother that is afraid for the safety of myself and my children who are passengers in this vehicle.each time i voice my concerns to my jeep dealership they "can't find anything wrong."i know that vehicle as well as you would your own body, and there is definitely something wrong.

My hot oil light comes on going on inclines in 2wd or 4wd when my tranny fluid gets hot it shoots fluid out of the tranny lines @ fittings! i have called chrysler and went to my local dealer and they say i need a tranny cooler but i feel they should do the work since they know of the issues all 4dr auto jks are havingand since they did install the hotoil light on it a couple of years ago ! any suggestions on how to handle wld b great! it very well could catch on fire and there are a ton of jeeps that have and nothing has been done ! thanks

On multiple occasions my 2007 jeep wrangler jk has "popped" out of gear.usually does this in 1st gear, this is a huge safety concern as when it happens i am stranded a few feet from where i started off.i am only waiting for the time that it happens in front of another vehicle in an intersection.it is scary, other than safety it is also a major inconvenience and makes me feel that i am going to damage my transmission and my clutch. Talking to other owners of this same style of jeep, this is a problem from 2007 to 2010 and i feel that it should be addressed by the factory.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler sahara. The contact stated that the gear shifter cable failed and the vehicle gear would not engage in park.the contact had to place the cable back on the gear shifter manually in order to achieve the park position.the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer and the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 90,000 and the current mileage was 105,000.

Jeep violently pops out of first gear when trying to accelerate l. Happens all the time. From doing research online this seems to be a common problem with people who own the manual transmission jeep jk model. This can be exceptionally dangerous when going through intersections or changing lanes as the jeep will pop out if gear and no longer accelerate. This has happened since day one of me purchasing it.

While driving on paved roads at speeds of 35 mph or less in a local park, a loud chime began to sound with no corresponding indicator light.i pulled over and shut the engine off, waited a few seconds, restarted the engine, the chime was not sounding, so i drove home. Once on the highway, the torque converter would not lock up properly and continued to slip for several miles until normal operation resumed.after checking everything once home, it appears that the chime was indicating the transmission was overheating, explaining the malfunction of the torque converter. I have read of others having similar experiences.i need to stress that this over heating occurred under normal operating conditions. Updated 05/24/10

An open recall dated feb 19, 2010 was ignored by my authorized chrysler/dodge/jeep dealer dealing with transmission fluid temperature warning.the recall was incomplete and still open, yet the dealer still sold it to us without any warning of the recall, and even denied there was more than one recall when asked.they ignored safety recall j30, but did acknowledge recall j24.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler sahara. When the contact engaged the accelerator pedal driving various speeds including approximately 50 mph, the vehicle failed to move forward although the rpms continued to increase. The transmission failed whenever the vehicle was driven for more than 45 minutes or an hour. The dealer attempted to diagnose the failure on 12 occasions. Eventually, the contact was unable to shift into reverse gear. The dealer flushed the transmission and made other adjustments including rebuilding the transmission. The failure no longer occurred while driving in reverse; however, the vehicle intermittently failed to accelerate normally. She called the manufacturer who stated that they were unable to offer any assistance. She also wrote them a letter regarding the failure. The current mileage was approximately 25,170. The failure mileage was approximately 5,870 updated 03/30/10updated 07/27/10

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler sahara. The contact stated that when the gear was shifted, the clutch plate squeaked without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the clutch plate needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 92,000.

Intermitant slipping out of first gear. Dangerous to the driver at intersections and when starting from a nuetral position.

Transmissionpops (clutch slap) out of first gear on acceleration from a stop.

I was rear ended and pushed into another vehicle. I was driving a jeep four door and my head hit the head rest which is very hard. I have had headaches ever since and the seat belt locked down so tight that my shoulder has hurt ever since, no broken bones, but something is not right. I know for a fact the headrests need to be evaluated on their safety! i have an appointment with the jeep place for another recall and that is when i am going to discuss the hard headrests again.

On monday october 16, 2017 i started my jeep to leave for work.as i backed out of my parking space at my apartment and felt the brake pedal go to the floor. I almost hit a nearby car but was able to pull the car into an opposite parking space and the curb helped me stop the car.i had been driving the car the day before without any indication of a problem.i was able to have the car towed to a nearby repair center.the mechanic called me to explain that the brake cable had corroded and that this was the second older jeep that he had seen with this problem.he suggested that i notify you to report this issue.i'm counting my blessings that this happened in my parking lot and not a few minutes later when i would have been traveling on the interstate at 70 mph.the total cost of my repair was $446 because the brake system has been redesigned according to the mechanic.it is my hope that enough of these problems will be reported and that jeep will conduct a safety recall for this problem.i am attaching a picture of my driver's side brake and also a copy of my repair bill.please let me know if you need further information or what steps i can take to ensure that no one else will have this potential failure of their brakes causing a serious accident.sincerely,[xxx][xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

After being in park without using the ebrake, the ebrake light went on. Following was a squeeling screeching noise. The breaks in rear drivers side remain locked doing damage to the caliper and rotor. There is something mechanically wrong with the brakes where they will not stop applying pressure.this is not the first complaint i have seen in a similar situation with the same make model and year car. This should not be happening with such a new vehicle.

Brake light has been in forever, had checked, not an issue but...began noticing on highway. Not so severe to have to stop to regain control. About a year ago iit happened at lower speeds, as few as 35mph, any uneven surface, bump, texture or level change sets it off. Tapping or use of the brakes. "death wobble" occurs. A slight tremor radiating from steering column then through the entire jeep. So intense that it feels like the tires are turning sideways, maintaining control, steerin and braking extremely difficult. Regular braking does not help. Hars brake only. Haven't come to complete stop. I've always stopped, put back into park and turned it off.thinking maybe some sort of reset may occur.it helps me to reset my own self anyways! very scary! especially if in a vendor curved part of roadway. . brake light still on even after inspected (?) took into shop.mechanic said ball joints needed replaced. Death wobble went away for a few weeks and it's back. Prior alignments~ only regular adjustments required. I tried to pay attention after this 'fix' and determined that braking (even just a tap) starts it and any surface change in the road older jeeps had a simply fix, tightened a bolt on steering colum. My son is in training, did a visual inspection of the steering colum. Says seemed to me some extra play, nothing like a bolt loose but dark out, multiple components along column, unsure without a lengthier inspection. Nothing by sight. We stopped driving and took it in for inspection/replacement of front end balljoints. Tires have an unfamiliar pattern of wear. Using factory recommend tires, size and pressure. Very little off road. Mostly driven for in town/ highway driving. I hope this helps.very very scary when this happens.oh i've tried to outrun. Doesn't work. Lately i've shifted to 4thbeing and can usually regain control..

Whenever i go to work i have to go up down a mountain, wheni brake the front wheels of my jeep wobble out of control, shaking my steering wheel out of control. When i put on my brakes it gets worse, i pulled over because i thought the wheels were going to come off. When i did a man who saw me coming down the mountain said he could see my wheels wobble he thought they were going to fall off!! he moved a bar in the front of my jeep and said this shouldn't move and to have it towed. I had it towed to the nearest jeep dealership they said there was nothing wrong with my car! this happens all the time, i have taken my jeep to three different dealerships and they said nothing was wrong! i have replaced the brakes, tires and had a front end alignment and it still does it. I tried to trade it in but i'm upside down on my loan, so i changed my job because honest to god i thought i was going to die. I have told my family and friends if anything happens to me and i die in my jeep please look into it. I'm afraid of my car!!! and there is nothing at all i can do...how sad!

Experienced "death wobble" while traveling on highway between 50 and 65 mph. This is very dangerous and occurred several times on several hour cross state trip. This is extremely scary to driver and passengers as there were vehicles all around us on the highway. First reaction was to slam on brakes which again, very scary as we were on highway traveling at a 60 mph.

I almost had fatal crash with my children because of 'death wobble'. It's not funny & jeep needs to be sued for refusing to address this issue! over 50 times when traveling 65 mph the vehicles shakes uncontrollably forcing me to come to a complete stop on the highway. Why are they allowed to get away with this!!!

The jeep started wobbling like it was going to explode. Had to pull over before i caused a accident.took it to a jeep dealership, still taking it to the jeep dealership for repairs for wobbling.

Jeep death wobble in my 2007 jeep wrangler.no rhyme or reason, car will begin to violently shake between 45 - 65 mph.i have to completely stop and pull car to side of road in order to make this stop.incredibly scary and dangerous.have gone to to dealership and everyone has a different opinion all of which are unbelievable in cost when it comes to safety.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangle sahara. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph, the vehicle started to jerk violently without warning. The vehicle was taken to dealer who was unable to provide a remedy for the problem. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage 25,000 was and the current mileage was 37,000.

While driving @ approximately 55mph on rt 50 near rt 28 in fairfax co va i felt a slight vibration in the front end which immediately became a violent vibration to the point i had trouble steering the vehicle while applying the brakes to slow down and nearly crashed.i pulled off to the side of the road and got out to inspect the vehicle, fully expecting to find a flat tire or worse, thinking maybe a tire actually fell off.i found nothing wrong which was perplexing.i continued on my way with no further incident that day.since that day i've had at least five more incidents of the same nature with varying degrees of near misses regarding an accident.it's frightening and clearly something is wrong with the vehicle.i've researched the issue and it's apparent the problem is widely known as the "death wobble" with many suggested fixes.the dealer with whom i have my jeep serviced has acknowledged hearing about a front end shimmy but no death wobble (fairoaks chrysler, dodge jeep).they suggest replacing the front stabilizer bar with a "heavy duty" one and said it will fix the issue ($660.00).ironically, the"heavy duty" stabilizer appears to be stock on models beg. With the 2010 model year or at a minimum they have changed the configuration and placement of the stabilizer which indicates to me they (chrysler/jeep) clearly recognized there is a serious issue with the safety of the vehicle.i implore you to investigate this most serious defect before someone is killed because of this issue.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler sahara. The contact stated that when driving over 40 mph, the vehicle would shake violently.the contact had to depress the brakes and reduce speed until the vehicle stopped shaking. The vehicle was inspected and diagnosed as having a death wobble. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000. The vin was unavailable.

The problem started late february 2014.i took my jeep to the dealership and explained my problem in great detail and they were aware of the this problem, the death wobble.so they called me later and said it's fixed.which it wasn't i pulled out and only a few minutes later it happened so i went back and asked them if they bothered to test drive to see if it was actually fixed and they said no.this blew my mind especially since it's dangerous.so after they put on a new stabilizer bar i took it to a new place since that was the 4th bad experience i've had with that dealership.the back up place started their inspection of problem and noticed the stabilizer was faulty and he started with replacing that again.i got the jeep back to only find it was still not fixed.i've taken the jeep back 5 times to have the following items replaced in this order:stabilizer bar/wheel alignment and tire rotation, stabilizer bar again, all new shocks, steering damper/tie rod ends, and track bar.$2000 worth of work and it is still not fixed.now i'm at a point where i just don't know what to do.the mechanic is stumped and replaced the entire suspension system.i feel like this vehicle is extremely dangerous to drive so now i'm stuck with a lemon or sell to someone else which is not right either.i'm blown away this is a well documented problem and that the manufacturer has done nothing to remedy issue.this has caused me to almost of been run over by 70mph semis, run two other cars off the road and it's only a matter of time before i get hurt or killed or someone else does.

I have a 2007 jeep wrangler sahara and have recently had increasing incidents occur where the steering will wobble/vibrate causing uncontrollable steering.it is a feeling like the wheels are falling off or you have flat tires pulling you from side to side.once it starts this process, it seems to increase in incidents and will usually be triggered by hitting small bumps in the road, ie. Construction zone.but, once it occurs, it will have continued instances even when driving over slightly curved/unlevel road.i had to attempt to pull off i-10 going 65mph w/out steering control!once slowed to below 30/35mph it seems to get better currently, but continues numerous times later.

Upon driving my 2007 jeep sahara i hit a bump in road, the entire front end started shaking, the tires bouncing from center line to side line. I applied brakes and had to come to a complete stop before it quit. I went to jeep dealer they advised "the brake rotors need turned" i laughed and did as they asked and got new brakes and new shock stabilizer. It is now december 2012 and it has occurred again 3 times after hitting a bump in the road. I would like for something to be done about this and solution discovered because it seems that chrysler does not believe there is a problem and the service centers are telling people that "its the brakes" this is laughable.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler sahara. The contact stated, when driving at 35 mph or above, the vehicle would shake excessively. The contact also stated that the track bar and the bushings were replaced, as well as the tires that were rotated and balanced, but the shaking continued.the dealer stated that they were unaware of the failure and provided no assistance. The contact stated that the vehicle was extremely difficult to control and changing lanes was very dangerous. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 59,000.

I own a 2007 jeep wrangler unlimited sahara.two big complaints.first, with 51,000 my jeep has started to exhibit what is commonly called the "death wobble", apparently now an infamous reality among jeep owners up to the 2010 models (which i am told, jeep corrected with a stabilizer bar redesign).45 mph on smooth roads and all of the sudden the front end starts jumping uncontrollably, and the only way to get control is to slam on the brakes. I have rebalanced and then replaced the tires, and have had the front suspension checked -- everything seems to be in order, and no mechanic can figure out the true "fix".i want to know why nhtsa has not issued a recall or service notice on an issue that is so dangerous? the consistency of complaints about the design error in the steering and front end of these vehicles is overwhelming.second issue is that my gas tank does not allow for the auto-cut-off for gas pump operations -- whenever i fill up the tank, the gas rushes up the tank line with apparently no baffling and comes pouring out.and no, i am not an idiot who is overfilling the tank -- whether the pump is on automatic fill, or i do it carefully manually, the same thing happens -- the tank suddenly fills and shoots gas out of the filler cap area.there is something definitely wrong here.i did see that there has been a prior investigation on a similar complaint for these vehicles, and that nhtsa determined not to pursue a recall.i think the issue needs to get revisited.the lame dodge that nhtsa believed that many complaints on this issue were "internet driven" sounds feckless.both of these issues are safety concerns - especially the death wobble issue -- and need regulatory intervention in order to protect consumers like me.thank you.

While driving on the i-64 hov, i experienced a violent shaking commonly known as the "death wobble." it completely scared me. I had to immediately reduce my speed and pull to the shoulder so i didn't cause an accident, as it was during afternoon rush hour traffic. Two days later, the same thing happened, not once, but twice.

I have a 2007 jeep sahara 4x4, and have had the death wobble over ten times. The dealer said put on after market steering stab, and that did not fix it they put on a new tie rode and that did not fix it, now there saying because i tow my jeep behind my rv that's what's causing the steering stab to go bad. The dealer is lumpe dodge in visalia california.

My 2007 jeep unlimited sahara has the "death wobble." occurred several months ago. Mechanic couldn't figure it out, but prescribed tire inflation. Problem went away until one week ago. Can be easily replicated by going over a speed bump at about 25 mph and turning the wheel to the left sharply. Alternatively, just traveling above 40-45 mph on a highway, especially on a curve, will replicate. If any other jeep driver has this problem, the only way to protect yourself is to brake slowly, get off the road and drive under 40 mph...and much slower while turning even on side streets. If you must drive on a highway, stay in the slow lane so that you can exit to the shoulder with relative safety, and engage your hazard lights. Obviously, these are not practical solutions and ultimate culpability must lie with the manufacturer, who has been put on alert of this persistent problem for many months if not years. Very dangerous problem that needs to be repaired by jeep before someone gets killed or seriously hurt. Please share these complaints with jeep & the general public (without disclosing the names or specific vin #s).

While driving at highway speed, if you hit a rough spot on the road, it starts to shimmy and the steering wheel starts to violently jerk back and forth. The front tires are wobbling. You have to be extremely gripping the steering wheel and push on the brake as hard as you can without loosing control of the vehicle to get it stoped.

My jeep is experiencing the "death wobble".it almost turned over on i-85 outside of atlanta.my daughter was driving at 55mph and there was a small dip in the road.the jeep began to shake uncontrollably.she could hardly control the steering wheel or the jeep.we were finally able to slow down enough (almost rear ended twice) and pull over.this is not isolated.we had the jeep in for repairs before and everything listed for repair of the death wobble replaced.it is doing it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!you need to recall these jeeps and make chrysler fix them before someone like my 23 year old dies!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Vehicle suffers extreme shaking and wobbling at speeds above 40 mph, becomes particularly worse on lane changes and curved roads. Happens whether the surface is wet or dry. The problem is intermittent; meaning, it does not happen all the time, but is particularly worse in mornings when vehicle is "cold" or has not been driven overnight. The violent shaking makes vehicle nearly impossible to steer or maintain in lane, particularly dangerous on the highway. This is an extremely dangerous condition that requires immediate attention from chrysler/jeep.

Death wobble-have had this problem repaired and comes back. Cannot drive over 55 mph in city or highway without entire car starting to violently shake. Will shake for about a minute and stop on its own. Very scary and dangerous. Have had this problem for over a year

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler sahara. The contact stated that when driving over small bumps the vehicle would shake which almost caused a loss of control. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and a technician coined the term "death wobble" to express a common failure with this model. He then added that they have not developed a remedy for the failure. Hit 50 miles an hour and violent shaking occurred.had to stop quickly and pull off the side of the road.extremely hard to steer to get off the road.had parts replaced.never fixed the problem.jeep fails to acknowledge the problem. I had it back in shop with extensive work done this year.still no fix.at a loss.my daughter refuses to ride it in as we almost hit someone head on because i was unable to control the steering when the "death wobble" happened.have also had it happen where it put me off into the side of a ditch.i have doctor appointments due to cancer an hour away.have to get a ride because i cant trust to drive it. I take country back roads everywhere and make only short trips into town.i'm on disability, so the option to trade it in is out.can't sell it knowing it might very well kill the next owner.i have been the only owner.all stock, no modifications.

The failure occurred until there was a significant reduction in speed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who replaced the steering stabilizer bar and the steel power steering lines that were cracked however, the vehicle continued to shake violently. The manufacturer was notified but offered no assistance for the failure.

Experienced death wobble while my wife was driving and had to help her steer it off the road, scared the [xxx] out of us. Just wanted people to be aware of this. Uncontrolled steering, bad stabilizer bar, need to replace the stabilizer bar or will lose control of the vehicle on rough patch of road.

I own a 2007 4 door 2wd jeep wrangler that has what is known as a "death wobble." it shakes violently when breaking while driving onto uneven pavement or divets in the road. This started happening over a month ago after i noticed the steering seemed soft/loose. Now if happens almost daily. I am working with the dealership who believe this is a chrysler defect that can not be fixed. Chrysler also confirms that this type of problem is indicative to the design of the vehicle. This defect is seriously dangerous and there should be a mandatory recall. However, chrysler can not do a recall for a defect that they can not fix.yesterday, i took a certified tech on a test drive and the violent shaking happen within ten minutes while accessing an on ramp.

At approximately 60 mph my vehicle began shaking uncontrollably. The steering wheel, engine, entire jeep and there was nothing i could do to control or steer the vehicle. This has happened to me three times since june 2014. I have two children and have been on the highway each time it has happened and is terrifying!

Rust on all door hingesand entire undercarriage - on 2007jeep wrangler with 13,000miles on it.dealers wont fix its not covered on warranty thousands of similar complaints online.

All hinges including doors and hood are failing due to galvanic corrision.

"takata recall" i was driving my jeep wrangler 2007 when i started to lost power and i try to move to the emergency line but my brakes went out and my wheel were locked, i was not able to control my car at all, after my car abruptly stop i run to get my child out and my car was on flames under the hood (passenger side)i didn't have a warning, i checked my dashboard and nothing was on, my car was at the chrysler dealer for service two weeks ago and pass state inspection last week. That's is not acceptable, i didn't have time to get my bag and wallet, my car was on flames. Chrysler need to do something about it. We need some answers.my car was in motion, in a highway.

Leaking soft top on my 2007 jeep wrangler. Leaks from the right and left front doors over the door handles.

My jeep has the "death wobble"- i've spent over $1000 trying to fix it. When going over 50 on a highway, a slow shake quickly turns into a violent shaking of the jeep back and forth until i'm almost stopped (5pmph-ish) on the middle of a busy highway. I was almost rear-ended the other day, and am petrified to bring it on the highway now.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler sahara. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph the vehicle started to shake violently. The contact mentioned that whenever the vehicle drove over a bump it became uncontrollable until it slows down. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who repaired both ball joints twice but the vehicle continued to shake violently. The manufacturer was notified who stated a representative would return his call within 24 hours. The failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 74,000.

The jeep started wobbling like it was going to explode. Had to pull over before i caused a accident.took it to a jeep dealership, still taking it to the jeep dealership for repairs for wobbling.

Death wobble-have had this problem repaired and comes back. Cannot drive over 55 mph in city or highway without entire car starting to violently shake. Will shake for about a minute and stop on its own. Very scary and dangerous. Have had this problem for over a year

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler sahara unlimited. While driving at approximately 40 mph, the vehicle wobbled from side to side after driving over a bump in the road. When the brakes were applied, the wobbling seemed to worsen. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership for repairs. The failure continued although being repaired four times for the problem. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000. The current mileage was 42,291.

Death wobble - at 55 mph or above you hit a bump in the road, the front axle begins violently oscillating, causing the car to shake (or wobble) in a manner which makes the vehicle hard to control.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler sahara. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle began to shake violently. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis where the front end stabilizer shock was replaced. The failure was recurring and the repair was made twice at different times. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000. The vin was not available.

While driving down the highway going approximately 60 mph the vehicle hit something on the road (small bump) which resulted in a violent shaking from the front of the vehicle.i have sinced learned that this condition is commonly known as the death wobble.the condition was so violent i was forced to the side of the road. This has now happened twice in the last four weeks.the first instance i was driving straight, the second instance i was in a curve.the condition does not resolve itself although the magnitude of the vibration does decrease with speed.the vehicle is undrivable with this condition at highway speeds of 55-70 mph.the condition is induced by normal undulations and variations in the road (i.e.: not only a huge pothole).after stopping on the shoulder and inspecting the undercarriage i noticed nothing unusual.i resumed driving however, the condition did not resolve itself and i was forced to drive below 40 mph on the highway (as i had no other options).after the car sat for ~30 mins i drove the vehicle and the condition was not present.each occurrence was resolved the same way by allowing the vehicle to rest.chrysler did release a technical service advisory that describes what to check.my issue is that based on the number of people encountering problems with relatively low mileage (my vehicle is at 65k) the manufacturer should be held accountable vice the consumer to cover the replacement or prematurely worn parts.

Uncontrolled steering, bad stabilizer bar, need to replace the stabilizer bar or will lose control of the vehicle on rough patch of road.

While driving down a stretch of us-61 north of gonzales, la. A phenomenon known as "death wobble" occurred on my 2007 jeep wrangler unlimited. After taking it to a local shop that have come to discover that the track bar has come loose and stated that this is a common problem and that jeep refuses to address it.i was told to keep an eye on the front suspension because the violent shaking likely could have messed up ball joints and other equipment.

2007 jeep wranglerevery time vehicle hits certain bumps vehicle wobbles violently out control. Occurs at least daily. Jeep was in many shops and 2 different dealers and problems continues. Almost all front end parts were replaced to no avail. This problems just started out of blue with no warning but is deadly!*ln

2007 jeep wrangle sahara four door four wheel drive six speed standard . While driving vehicle at 60mph while hitting a minor bump in roadway sends vehicle into a vigorous shaking. This is not a minor shaking it sends vehicle into a very rapid side to side pulling motions. I was barley able to pull off the highway safely with my two year old and 6 months old daughters in the jeep during the incident. The jeep is 100% stock no after market parts and i am the original owner.

No matter how long the jeep runs i only have heat on the passengers side. I have verified that my blend doors are working. Living in colorado this is a huge issue, my windshield does not defrost completely.

Hit 50 miles an hour and violent shaking occurred.had to stop quickly and pull off the side of the road.extremely hard to steer to get off the road.had parts replaced.never fixed the problem.jeep fails to acknowledge the problem. Fuel spit back issue!i recently just bought this jeep from a local dealerthat first night while leaving the dealership i went to fill up my tank. The dealership doesn't fill up your tank if you buy a used car. While standing and waiting for the pump nozzle to stopi did what i usually do and waited by the fuel nozzle. After the fuel nozzle clicked letting me know that the tank was full and upon taking out the fuel pump nozzle i noticed that about 3/4 of a quart of gas poured out all over my shoes. At first i didn't mind this but after a few times of refueling to full this happens every time! it seems as if there is pressure in the tank that builds up and is not released during filling. Each and every time i put gas in and pump until full also it doesn't matter if the fuel pump is on high pressure or low pressure. Gas pours out!

Drove up to my house and parked the jeep (after driving 8-10 miles).went inside the house.within 10 minutes went back outside and smoke was boiling out from under the hood and it was dripping fire on the ground.fully involved very quickly.

I was pulling out of a driveway and thegas peddle went all the way to the floor.i tried to brake and the vehicle took off to approx. 45 miles per hour while i was stepping on the brake, it continued to accelerate for approx. 15 seconds.the car eventually started to fishtail after i put it in neutral and stopped in the middle of the highway.i looked to see if anything was stuck on the gas peddle and there was not.i turned the car off and had to tap on the gas peddle to get it to come up from the floor.the car was towed to the dealership and they did not find anything wrong with it.i am very frightened of driving it again in case this happens once more.please let me know if you have heard of anything like this happening to anyone else.

The contact owns a 2007 jeep wrangler sahara. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked and as she shifted into drive, the vehicle abnormally accelerated and crashed into a garage wall. There were no injuries. The insurance company was notified of the crash. The dealer performed a diagnostic on the vehicle to determine the cause of the failure but the test did not generate any failure codes.the contact was awaiting further testing of the vehicle and possible repairs. The manufacturer was notified who stated they would return the contact's call within five business days. The failure mileage was 16,300.

My 2007 jeep unlimited sahara has the "death wobble." occurred several months ago. Mechanic couldn't figure it out, but prescribed tire inflation. Problem went away until one week ago.
