Read complaints for JEEP WRANGLER 2-DR 4X4 (2008)

Airbag light comes on and off intermittently and per the dealer it is the clock spring.dealer advised that when the light is on the airbag will not function.the light stays on very long at times.this is very scary.

Air bag light stays on all the time.

2008 jeep wrangler rubicon. Airbag light illuminated. It comes on and goes off periodically. Went online to see if anyone else had issues and saw all other recent complaints about same problem.

On the 2008 jeep wrangler (lhd) dashboard, the airbag warning light flashes on every other minute with a chime, an indication that there is something malfunctioning or interfering with the vehicle's airbags.this has been a recurring issue and concern for many 2008 jeep wrangler (lhd) owners, including myself, and has been shown time and time again to be caused by a faulty clockspring within the vehicle's steering wheel. This faulty clockspring is the culprit for potential airbag failure in the 2008 jeep wrangler (lhd) during an accident or premature deployment when simply driving around. Daimler chrysler has refused to address the safety concern of their faulty clockspring that can cause failure of the vehicle's airbags from properly deploying.

Constant dinging and airbag light on. Took vehicle to dealership for diagnostic test. Diagnostics showed that a new clockspring was needed. This is a common, very expensive problem among 2008 jeep wranglers.

Last year (2016) i had a piece of plastic (looks like tape) coming out between the steering wheel and steering column while driving on our local street. I didn't realize it was wires at first.this wire 'tape' eventually broke which means you don't have a working airbag, horn, etc. Brought it to a local garage last fall (2016) and was told the clock spring caused this and there was a recall on it.put the jeep in the garage for the winter andtoday (3/2/2017) called the dealer to make an appointment. After giving them the vin # i was told that the recall didn't apply to my jeep wrangler. Btw it only had 40,920 miles on it!

Please explain how one loose wire which can only cause car not to start, can warrant a recall ,but a defective clock spring does not!!!!!!! please explain this to me . Same part on rhd wrangler gets replaced why? could it be rhd wranglers are driven by government employees ....until some one tells me differently that's what i and many others think .do your job !!!!!!!! make chrysler recall all jeep wranglers with clock spring issues.

Around a month and a half ago, the airbag light has been coming on and off randomly in my jeep.after diagnosing the problem, i found out it was the clock spring failing.whenever the airbag light is lit up on my dash, there is a strong possibility that the airbag will not go off if i get into an accident or that the airbag will randomly deploy as i am driving for no reason.i have discussed with jeep about getting this issue fixed but they refuse to do nothing about it.this is a huge safety issue that must be fixed.

My 2008 jeep wrangler started having an airbag warning light come on occasionally, over the last month it has gotten more frequent. I have done a bunch of research on the problem and found that it appears to be a common problem with chrysler products. The issue is a defective clockspring, about a $500 fix through the dealer. There is a current recall for right hand drive jeeps for the same problem but chrysler will not honor that for the left hand drive jeeps. I have tried talking to my dealer, and chrysler direct with no luck. I am confused as to how they can get away with refusing to fix a known safety problem, not to mention morally. I know they are a corporation and morals are not high on their priorities, however selling more of their product should be. I love my jeep, and planned on giving this one to my son in a few years when he is old enough to drive and buying a new one for myself. Not so sure i want to buy another vehicle from a manufacture who wont stand behind a safety issue. If this was an issue over something like a radio or other "luxury" i would have no issue. But that is not the case. There is a common safety issue and they refuse to address the issue and make it right. I have always driven toyota's and never had any issues with them standing behind their products. Perhaps chrysler could use to look at other companies and take a bit of ethical advise from them.

My air bag light is now coming on and going of i see there is a recall on right hand drive jk,if same parts are used on left hand drive then common since dictates that both right and left handed should be equally recalled.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My 2008 jeep wrangler airbag light turned on an wouldn't turn off. We took it to the local dealer and they just told us that they can't find anything wrong on the scan but the only way to turn off the sensor is to replace the airbag at $750.00. Really? nothing wrong but it will cost $750.00 plus labor to turn off the sensor light? does this mean the airbag works or not? seems many are having this problem and is jeep waiting for an airbag not to deploy and have someone killed before the recall starts? any advice is helpful!

The air bag light on the dash instrumental goes on and off at random.

The airbag light continually turns on and off in my jeep. This is accompanied with a continuous warning ping that goes off when you are almost out of gas or need something checked asap. This is probably because the airbag will not work and is a safety hazard. 2007 jeeps have a recall for this and it is a faulty coil spring in the steering wheel. Looking on any forum site or even this one and you will see multiple complaints of the same issue. Jeep told me that i would need to pay out of pocket to get this fixed until a recall is issued. Considering my jeep and many others are having this occur well before 100k miles there is an issue with the part that they are putting into the cars.

On my 2008 jeep wrangler (lhd) dashboard, the airbag warning light flashes on every minute with a loud chime, an indication that there is something malfunctioning or interfering with the vehicle's airbags.this has been a recurring issue and concern for many 2007+ jeep wrangler (lhd) owners, including myself, and has been shown time and time again to be caused by a faulty clockspring within the vehicle's steering wheel. This faulty clockspring is the culprit for potential airbag failure in the 2007+ jeep wrangler (lhd) during an accident or premature deployment when simply driving around. My local dealership has admitted the fact that they have seen many jeep owners with the same faulty clockspring, but they charge hundreds of dollars to fix it. I can only imagine that for every jeep owner that takes the time to write a complaint, there must be many more that are having the same issues who never took the time to write a complaint. I am writing this with the hope that someone will notice the large amount of2007+ jeep wrangler owners who are having this same issue with the faulty clockspring, and initiate a recall that can help fix the clockspring and keep people safe.

While driving one day my airbag light came on,nothing happened to the vehicle to warrant this coming on.i took the jeep to my dealership and they told me it need a new clockspring.upon researching this part i found that it has been recalled on 2007 wranglers and rhd wranglers, however mine has not been recalled yet despite several people online having the same issue.this is a serious safety issue that jeep is aware of and i believe they should replace this part with no charge.

Airbag warning light goes on and off repeatedly accompanied by a chime.when illuminated, horn will also not work.indicates failed clockspring in steering column - a common occurrence on this series of wranglers.rhd wranglers were recalled for the same problem.

When driving under normal conditions, air bag warning light came on. Light now comes on intermittently when driving and stays on for a few minutes, goes off for a few seconds, and then repeats continuously throughout driving. Looking online, this appears to be the same clockspring failure that has resulted in a recall for the same model year rhd vehicles, and extended warranties on this part for previous year (2007) lhd vehicles.since this will cause the air bag to fail, i believe this safety recall should be extended to include all wranglers with this clock spring assembly, not just rhd.

The contact owns a 2008 jeep wrangler 4x4. While driving approximately 40 mph, the contact noticed that the air bag warning indicator was illuminated intermittently. In addition, whenever making a turn a chime would sound inside of the vehicle. The failure progressed and became a constant occurrence. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who replaced the driver's side air bag clock spring assembly. There was a recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number was 11v528000 (air bags: frontal); however the vin was ineligible under the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 66,000.

On 10/16/2013 the airbag light came on a few times.by 10/21/2013 the light was continuously going on and off.when checking the manual, it was suggested that it be checked by a dealership.the morning of 10/22/2013, it was brought to the original purchasing dealership.on 10/24/2013, we were told that the drivers airbag was defective but that our extended purchased warranty expired at 60,000 and it would not be replaced unless we paid $600.00 to replace it.the airbags have never been tampered with nor has the vehicle ever been involved in an accident of any kind.they specifically state that it is defective.

While driving down the street the air bag light came on. For a week or so it went off and on. Now it stays lit almost all of the time unless you turn right then it will go out, then come on as you drive straight or left.

The air bag light is on. The dealership confirmed it is equipped with a faulty/defective spring. The airbag will not inflate during an accident.

Clock spring has gone bad again. Was replaced once by original owner now has gone bad again and no recall issued...updated12/02/14

In november of 2012, the airbag symbol appeared on the dash of my vehicle. I took it into the shop and the diagnostics test determined that it was a faulty clockspring. I have never been in an accident and the jeep is well maintained. The clockspring seemed to be defective.

I took my vehicle twice to the dealer, moritz, in fort worth and was told the passenger airbag problem was fixed but according to this site it has not.i'm still awaiting notification that the driver side airbag parts to come in to get that problem resolved.

I received a letter from tk holdings inc saying that i have takata airbag infiltrators in my vehicle that contains "phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate propellant" that can rupture causing injury or death. I only have until dec 27th to file a complaint, because they filed bankruptcy and will not be responsible after that date. Please add my vehicle to the recall list so i can get this fixed. I called the dealership and they said it is fine since it isn't on the recall list. They can't fix them thank you

Air bag light is coming on at various times.it will come on then go off.it makes a chiming sound.it does this while driving when i hit a hard bump or turn the wheel.i called chrysler and they will not fix it.should this not be a safety thing that they should fix for the life of the vehicle?i read that they have recalled certain ones even ones in my year...but not my vin number for this exact problem! i am very concerned that if i would need my airbags that they would not work.i have read this is a result of the clock spring needing repair and i don't have the money to get it fixed.

The airbag light is illuminated and will not go off. After further research the clock spring is bad.

My 2008 jeep wrangler x recently started exhibiting false airbag warnings. The dash light flashes on intermittently, sometimes turning off quickly and sometimes staying on for some time; when the light is on it also chimes sporadically. Researching the problem online, i find that many many many 2008 jeep wrangler owners are experiencing this same problem. Apparently it was covered by a recall for 2007 wranglers and for 2008 wranglers with a right-hand drive; it should be covered for my vehicle. This is a serious safety issue and it troubles me that there has been no action.

Airbag light came on, with audio indicator. Noticed when turning steering wheel hard right or left, the light would go out. When returned to near straight, the light and chime would come on, indicating airbag problems. After conducting a quick internet search, it was found that a fault clockspring was the problem.this has been well documented safety issue on jeep wrangler vehicles. It is well documented with all years involved, including 2014. There is a safety recall for jeep vehicles with a right hand drive. This safety issue causes great concern that the airbag may not deploy when required, or it may deploy at any given time, causing an accident. Daimler chrysler has been contacted about this problem, but refused to address the safety concern of their faulty clockspring that can cause failure of the vehicle's airbags from properly deploying.

The clock spring went out again in the jeep wrangler.

The air bag dash light came on, indicating a fault in the airbag safety system. Then the seatbelt light came on even though the seatbelt was fastened. It seems that when the driving lights were on, the brake lights would not light at all; and the turn indicator did a fast blink. The dealer believes the clock spring in the steering has a short and caused the other electrical faults. So the car seems to have a non-functional airbag, and no brake lights. This is a dangerous failure. It appears this is a common failure model on jeeps, but they have not issued a recall on this vin yet.

Start up jeep started driving and airbag light comes on and off and buzzer.

The contact owns a 2008 jeep wrangler. The contact was driving approximately 5 mph. The air bag warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for inspection one week after the failure occurrence. The technician was unable to locate the problem. The failure mileage was 44,000. The current mileage was 45,000.

Cruise control stopped working, horn stopped working, air bag light stays on and dings constantly.dealership said there was no recall or warranty extension on the faulty clock spring.

The airbag light stays on 99% of the time. I have the same problem as described in the nhtsa action # pe11019. Make: jeep model: wranglermodel year: 2008manufacturer: chrysler group llcmfr's report date: nov 01, 2011nhtsa campaign id number: 11v528000 nhtsa action number: pe11019 component: air bags:frontal summary:chrysler is recalling certain model year 2008-2012 right hand drive (rhd) jeep wrangler vehicles manufactured from february 1, 2007, through october 10, 2011. Some vehicles may be equipped with driver's airbag clockspring assemblies that could experience a compromised airbag circuit resulting in an airbag lamp illumination, which indicates that the airbag may not deploy.consequence:a broken electrical circuit in the airbag clockspring wiring assembly can lead to non-deployment of the driver frontal airbag and will not be able to properly protect the driver in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injuries.remedy:chrysler will notify owners and remedy the vehicles as necessary free of charge. Chrysler will mail to owners an interim notification during december 2011. Owners may contact chrysler at 1-800-853-1403.notes:chrysler's recall number is l37. Owners may also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (tty 1-800-424-9153), or go to http://www.safercar.gov . My vehicle is a left hand drive not a right hand drive as covered by the recall. I called the chrysler help line and they were of no help. This is a safety issuethat has been acknowleded by chysler and they need to recall my vehicle also.n

Air bag light keeps chiming on and off while driving! brought it to the dealership and they say the airbag is not making connection due to a faulty clock spring! chrysler already had a recall for this problem for "certain model years" of course 2008 wasn't covered! they need to recall this and fix it considering it's been a probably right out of the factory! i had to pay out of pocket to fix this safety issue! this is ridiculous chrysler! the people support you now it's time to support us back!

The contact owns a 2008 jeep wrangler 4x4. The contact was driving various speeds when the contact noticed that the air bag warning indicator was continuously illuminated until the engine was turned off. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number 11v528000 (air bags:frontal) however the vehicle was ineligible for repairs under the recall. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who informed the contact that the clock spring would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 52,000. The vin was unavailable.

The airbag light has been illuminated for about a month now.while driving yesterday, i heard a noise in the steering wheel that was followed by a scraping sound when the steering wheel is moved.

The clockspring on my 2008 left hand drive jeep has broken causing my airbags to no longer function. I have a valid chrysler warranty until 85,000 miles. My jeep is currently being serviced at the dealership to replace the broken clockspring which will cost $563. This part is not covered under my chrysler warranty which makes no sense at all. My warranty covers electrical components but the clock spring falls under "safety" components which are not covered. How safety components are not covered is way beyond me! there was a recall in the 2007 jeep wrangler clockspring and the issues obviously spread to 2008 as well. I cannot afford the $563 so i am putting it on my credit card so i can drive a safe jeep. The fact that jeep is making consumers pay (substantially) for their negligence is completely unfair and thus the reason for this complaint.

Air bag indicator and chime go off intermittently.i've been told it is the clockspring wiring assemble, which seems to be a know problem with the 2008 - 2012 jeep wrangler.meaning i do not have reliable airbag protection due to a faulty part.chrysler issued a recall for all rhd wranglers in these years, but did nothing for the drivers of the left hand drive versions.

Air bag light and audible alarm coming on, every time i drove the vehicle.i was worried the air bag would deploy accidentally or that it would not deploy if i had an accident. I took to dealer in thomson, ga.paid $594 to have airbag clock sping replaced.

On two separate occasions my unmodified 2008 jeep wrangler x has given me an audible "ding" warning and the airbag warning light came on and stayed on while stuck in very slow moving highway traffic (approximately 0-10 mph).both times it was approximately 85-90 degrees f outside and the air conditioning was off.the second time this happened the "hot oil" warning recall fix had already been performed but i did not receive that warning nor did the temperature gauge rise more than half the width of the needle.on the second occasion the "ding" and airbag warning light came on repeatedly over a period of a half an hour each time traffic slowed down.

My airbag warning light came on while driving which indicated that the airbag would not work in the event of a crash. Light continued to go on and off for several days at random. Dealer told me the clock spring was likely faulty and wanted nearly $1,000 to fix it. I read online forums where the right-hand drive jeeps had a recall on the clock spring for this very issue. Also read multiple forums with hundreds of complaints that the issue is prevalent on left hand drive jeeps. I removed my clock spring and tested it and found one circuit was shorting out due to wear on the ribbon wire where the ribbon contacts the plastic housing. This appears to be a faulty clock spring design and is very dangerous as it may prevent the airbag from deploying in a crash and the only repair/replacement option is to put a new clock spring back in that has the same design flaw as the original. I replaced my clock spring with a new oem unit but based on the historical data, the replacement clock spring is not likely to last or be reliable.

The contact owns a 2008 jeep wrangler 4x4. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 16v290000 (air bags) and 16v352000 (air bags); however, the parts for the recall repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The contact had not experienced a failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. Parts distribution disconnect....updated 12/14/16 updated 12/19/16.

Made a left turn horn started going off air bag light came on and the cruise control quit working all at thesame time.

Faulty clockspring causing horn to not work and airbag light to go on.was told by dealership that airbag will not work in event of accident.

While driving on the freeway, the windshield fluid sprays and the wipers go on at slow speed. Can't turn wipers or mister off and have to pull over with zero viability. Second time this happened, i lost acceleration pedal and jeep stalls and starts while all this is going on. Took keys out of ignition and disconnected negative batter but everything still on. Pulled fuses for wipers and fluid to stop that. Had to pop clutch to stall out the jeep. Very dangerous to have happen while in the carpool lane. Also to find out that the airbags don't work due to a bad clock spring.

Airbag light goes off and on, driving or sitting

The steering wheel momentarily wouldn't turn until i forced it and broke what i'm assuming is the clockspring assembly. Very dangerous if my mom or someone else who wouldn't have been able to force the break while driving the jeep. The airbag, abs, esp, and traction control lights all came on in the dash. There is a white ribbon wire now hanging out between the steering wheel and column.

I was driving around 35 mph, my air bag light began to flash and then it stopped. It began to flash on and off every couple of minutes. I shut off the engine for a few minutes, then started driving again and the air bag light started flashing and ringing. After i researched the problem online, it appears to be a faulty clock spring. There is a 2007 recall and a 2008 recall for right side driving vehicles. But nothing for 2008 jeep wrangler left side driving vehicles. I called chrysler and had to file a complaint due to them not fixing the issue under warranty or recall. The total amount for the repair is $500+. There are numerous complaints about this air bag issue and nothing is being done.

Air bag warning light constantly goes off due to a faulty clock spring and apparently the 2008 rhd and the 2007 are recalled but not the 2008 lhd. *dt

Air bag warning light on dash board started lighting up intermittently and chime going off about every 2 or 3 minutes.checking with a mech. Found out it was clock spring in steering wheel.pulled fuse to stop noise and light.jeep said too bad, out of warranty.

The airbag light stays on which indicates that the airbag may not deploy.this is a safety issue big time!!!

The contact owns a 2008 jeep wrangler 2-door 4x4. While driving at various speeds, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The contact stated that the failure occurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the clock spring failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.

Air bag light illuminates for several seconds and then turns off.continual issue and seems to be the same issue shown in the nhtsa investigation pe11019.related to faulty clock spring.

Air bag light stays on. Cruise control no longer works, horn doesn't work and air bags don't work.dealership says it's a bad clock spring but it wasn't covered under my extended warranty. Had to buy and replace component myself. Should be recalled for faulty clock spring as many 07-08 jeep jk's are having this problem. It is unsafe to have no airbags and no horn.

Airbag light intermittently goes on and off constantly and when the dealer diagnosed the problem as an issue with the clockspring and ordered the part, it had to be special ordered because it was on special back order and i was told i was 503 on the waiting list!it is apparently a safety issue as i'm told i have to replace it or the airbag is not working when the airbag light is on.the repair estimate is over $530.

Air bag warning light comes on intermittently while driving. Now it's on all the time when i drive except when i make a right turn.

August 29 2013, my airbag light turned on and chimed continuously on my way to work. Thinking this may have been a fluke, i drove it for another 24 hours to see if it would correct itself. Now, over 24 hours later, the problem continues to persist. The dealership in my area claimed to be backed up for the next week or two and did not give me reason as to why this might be happening. After searching the problem on both the tsb and open forums, i found that the cause is the clockspring in most jk's. I have also found that the warranty for the clockspring on the 2007 jk has been extended to 10 years/150,000miles. Also, the (2008-2012 right hand drives) have been accepted as having clockspring problems. I drive a 2008 jk along with many others that are having the same issue. This is a safety issue and may cause a non-deployed air bag when an air bag is neede. Please help resolve this issue. Thank you.

Getting ready to go to work i open my driver side door and the horn starts blowing, wiper fluid squirting continuously, windshield wipers constantly going that have now scratched my hood, internal lights blinking, radiator/coolant fan going, all lights on the dash come on, the headlights flashing as they please, the airbag light stays on, and heat stops working. I had to get my boyfriend to disconnect my horn because at 7 a.m. It is very embarrassing to wake the neighbors! i had to disconnect the battery. Now i can sometimes get it to stop by slapping the fuse box cover.at times my car won't shut off with the key taken out so i have to let it jump in first gear while pushing the brake. The first time this happened to me i almost rear ended a car in the daycare parking lot as we all parallel park to get to the front door. This happens whenever it wants to and now that it is getting darker earlier i have to worry about transporting my child with no headlights at night because i have no other means of transportation which this happened to me on the way to pick her up last night 11/12/14. The issue is happening more often in colder weather and is not safe at all to have no headlights working at night because of the electrical issues going on. I took the car to the chrysler/dodge/jeep dealership and had to wait almost two weeks before they could look at it. They could not find the issue because when they checked everything it did not do anything but act normal for them. I see this being a common issue with wranglers lately and am waiting for the answer on the petition and investigation before i decide if this is worth fixing and keeping. Not safe at all!

I started my wrangler and the airbag light came on and never went off, it has effected use of my horn as well

Find it hard to believe my 2008 wrangler is not part of the air bag recall. My light came on about 3 yrs ago had to replace it to have it inspected . To me that's enough to prove it needs to be part of recall .. Very disgusted how this has been handled !!!

When turning i noticed that the vehicle started vibrating and the abs, esp, and traction control lights and also the brake light come on. My son drives this vehicle also and i am afraid the air bag is going to deploy.

Airbag light goes on and off.clock spring is bad.

I have an 08 wrangler and the air bag light has come on but because it lhd it's not covered.they say the problem is mail carriers ride dusty roads and have the window up and down a lot .well i take my top off and ride dusty roads all summer long ,same thing. Im sure the same parts are used so why aren't both left and right hand being recalled.this is unfair that for the same problem i must pay to have this fixed. Is it because most of the rhd jeeps are " government employees " that theirs get fixed ? sounds to me like a conspiracy you protecting yourself while again the little guy gets screwed!!!!!i don't know why your asking for my e mail address,i'm sure i'll never her from you because you know i'm right. There is no reason to recall one without recalling both it's just common sense.

The contact owns a 2008 jeep wrangler 4x4.the contact stated that the clock spring was defective.in addition, the air bag warning light was illuminated.the dealer made repairs to the passenger side air bag under nhtsa campaign id number: 11v528000 (air bag) but the recall did not include repairs on the driver side air bag.the manufacturer was notified of the failure, but denied any assistance with repairs to the vehicle.the vehicle was not further repaired.the failure mileage was 79,000 and the current mileage was 83,000.

My airbag warning light comes on and dings constantly and will not shut off.

Started jeep up and pulled out of driveway. Started to drive down st. When airbag warning light came on and now only goes out when i make a left or right turn, but comes back on as soon as steering wheel straightens out.

I contacted jeep customer assistance center after i was researching this web site and saw recall #l37. Nhtsa action # pe11019. I own a right hand drive jeep and this recall very specifically said 2008-2012 right hand drive jeeps were having problems with the clock spring. I contacted jeep several times, i went ahead and had this repair done on my own in fear of being in an accident and not having an air bag to deploy if needed, (i'm on the highway 5-6 hours per day) also my horn would not blow, it is needed at times to alert other drivers etc.. Dec. 15thi called and requested to be reimbursed and they informed me that this recall was very vin specific, and mine was not included, i let them know i had the same problem. This really troubled me so i contacted jeep again by email, they informed me again that my jeep was not included in the vin specific recall. What can i do to be treated fairly and get reimbursed for a recall that should have been on my vehicle as well??? i was having theexact same issues as the ones that were recalled, and this could have caused serious safety problems for me as well as the jeeps that were so vin specific. There should not be a problem to having a vehicle recalled if it could hinder the air bag from deploying and risking the lives of anyone.

While operating my 2008 jeep wrangler the airbag light illuminated on the dash with a notification noise every few minutes and has continued since. The dash light does not shut off at this time, stays illuminated and the notification noise approx every minute. After further research this is the same part number that has been recalled on the 2007 models as well as the 2008 right hand side.

This complaint refers to the existing air bag clockspring wiring failure being investigated under ea 15-007 and previously pe 15-025. It is also closely related to safety recall 11v258 which involves the same part failure. Like other owners of my 2007-2012 jeep wranglers the clockspring unit in my vehicle has indicated it has failed with the abs error code b1b02 - "driver airbag squib 1 circuit open". The issue happened suddenly and has persisted. The vehicle has just over 55,000 miles and during my ownership it has not been submitted to extraneous environmental factors.jeep customer care was notified of my issue (case # 29226734) but did not provide or offer remedy.

2008 jeep wrangler with 20000 miles. Clock spring failed leaving me with a dinging every time i turn the steering wheel. 2007 wranglers have an extended warranty but 2008s do not. Sounds like jeep is admitting something is wrong but limiting their damage monetarily by limiting the affected years. Anything that has a chance that of making airbags not deploy, which i'm sure there is a law that says vehicles need airbags, not, have airbags that are made with parts that make the airbag not work after 20000 miles. What next? seatbelts that unhook over a certain speed?

2008 jeep jk's need to have a recall on there clock springs! i have just had to have mine replaced, and have read of many others who have or need to on-line. The warning light started flashing every minute or so with a tone, i feel others and myself should not have to or had to pay for our safety when it is the manufactures issue.

The clockspring in the steering column has failed causing the air bag warning light to intermittently alarm.this indicates that the airbag will not deploy in the event of a crash.this vehicle is left hand drive.

Clockspring in steering column is of poor design, less than 50 thousand miles on vehicle.airbag light is constantly going on and off when you turn the steering wheel.airbags may or may not deploy in an accident depending on if you are going straight or turning.dealer says they have had several peole come in with same issue and thet the clockspring controls the airbags but they are unwiling to cover it as warranty has expired. How many people are going to pay the 500 dollars to get the part replaced and how many people are just going to risk it?

I was at speed, 55mph, when the engine cut off, it also felt like it downshifted, all the dash lights came on, the wipers turned on. I put the car in neutral and tried to restart the engine, no go. I did make it safely to the shoulder from the far left lane through traffic with no power steering.as i came to a stop, the wipers sped up and the horn started blaring.i tried to restart the engine and it did. But everything was still going haywire. I tried to turnoff the engine and it would not cut off, even after removing the key. After about 5 minutes, it all stopped. I restarted and made it to the dealership.wipers and horn going off now and then.pulled into the dealership and the wipers and horn acted up again full blare. Service agent walked out, opened the hood and hit the tipm and everything stopped. It appeared he knew exactly what the problem was and didn't seemed surprised at all.i have seen other similar complaints.this is clearly a high-risk safety issue and it doesn't appear to be isolated.i am surprised that there isn't a recall on this item.i am awaiting call for diagnoses of the problem but it seems apparent at this point that it is the tipm.

Horn does not work when pushing pad on steering wheel.however horn honks at random times while vehicle is in driveway and when driving.dealer investigation shows open circuit on clock spring causing horn to sound when short to ground occurs randomly.

I purchased a 2008 jeep wrangler 2dr 4x4 from frederico dodge chrysler in woodriver illinois on 04/04/2016. I was informed that the win module was defective and needed to go back to the dealer. Red light comes on while driving and the traction control lights comes on as well. I took it back and got issues with them and was told it was replaced. The red light and traction control light is still coming on while i am driving. (electrical issue). I was also informed that i have a rear main seal (engine) that is leaking and transmission coolant lines leaking ( transmission). I took back to them and was informed that there is a difference between a leak/seepage and that would not be covered under my 3000 mile/3 month (engine/transmission) warranty. I have only owned new dodge vehicles and was treated with professionalism. I bought a used vehicle with the warranty given and was told that it was inspected and was treated like my problems were not there problem. I am asking that this maintenance issue gets resolved under my warranty. Thank you for your time.respectfully submitted,[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

As i went to leave for work and placed the jeep in reverse the horn honked a couple times.after i put it in park to make sure it was ok i reversed again and then the horn started honking, the windshield wipers started going and it started spraying washer fluid.after taking the key out of the ignition this continued for about 10 seconds.the vehicle was fine on the drive to work but once i parked and walked in the door it did the same thing again for about 5 seconds.the next morning i drove it (2 days later) i noticed my heat wouldn't work, tried the a/c, and still nothing.once i was moving i tried again and it was working, but once i stopped at a light it stopped again.i took it to the sealer that afternoon and they suspect the tipm needs replacing but there are 178 on back order.this is concerning since this seems to be a large problem and the forums are covered in stories of the same thing.that night driving home my jeep started honking, spaying washer fluid and wiping while driving.once that stopped my a/c went out again after the dealership said they fixed it because it's charge was apparently low.my heat and a/c have since stopped working most of the time, occasionally will work.last night while driving home my horn, wipers, washer fluid and door locks were all going for about 3, minutes.i had people pulling over out of my way because they thought i was honking at them.i have since unplugged the horn and see this as a hazard.it was dark and spraying washer fluid intermittently for 3 or so minutes was very distracting and keep interfering with my visibility.today my door locks keep clicking as i drive.i have had issues periodically during the day when the i can hear the horn honking when the key is not in the ignition.

Vehicle when parked and / or while driving will start blaring the horn, spraying wiper fluid, wipers engage, lights go on and off / then off and the only way to make it stop is tobattery or give the tipm an easy tap on the top. I have taken it to dealer and they want to start replacing electrical components starting with the cheap one at 350.00.this started happening at around 40k miles and at the time there were notany modifications on the jeep.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pu-w5zdiuoehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmhbii-5iaohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bn1aowasku

Upon opening the door, the horn and windshield wipers began to operate incessantly and electrical arcing could be heard under the hood. The engine started and i tapped the tipm and everything stopped, including the engine.when i restarted the engine, i had no problems with the horn or wipers, but the "check engine" light was on.the jeep dealer diagnosed the problem as a faulty tipm which will cost around $200 and two hours of labor to install and program.he said there are more than 20 of these modules backordered across the nation and couldn't tell us whether it would be days or weeks until it would be available.when i asked the service manager if the vehicle would be safe to drive, he said that we could lose total control at any time without warning.considering this and the electrical arcing we heard under the hood, i think that this should constitute a safety recall.other jeep owners have reported similar electrical problems at http://www.carcomplaints.com/.

For the past 3 months i will be driving, in a pretty average way, not speeding or braking to hard, when all of the sudden my horn, alarm, wipers, windshield wiper fluid, and lights will go on and wont stop for up to 5 minutes, it has done this when the jeep is stationary, in motion, or even without the key in the ignition

Got into the jeep, started and placed into reverse, suddenly, without prior warning and randomly the horn starts going off, wiper fluid shooting out and the wipers going like crazy, air conditioner not working and radio blasting and going quiet.. Nothing you can do will make it stop, this will be a serious safety isssue if it happens when i am driving down the road. This makes it a problem to be driving this car, as you never know when the wipers and horn will start going crazy. I have read many posts that this couldhappen both when the vehicle is stationary and while driving.why is this not a recall???does someone have to die before jeep concede this is a problem?

Clockspring went out of no where. Had issues with turn signals since the day i bought it 2 1/2 years ago.dealer cost $470.

2008 jeep wrangler 2dr x-model vehicle's clock spring malfunctioned at 66000 miles. Airbag light is on and after testing, it was deemed that it is the clock spring which is malfunctioning.

There is a used car dealership in phoenix arizona called prime auto, phone 602-737-3275.i am working with the arizona attorney generals office and have (within just a few days) collected stories from 3 other individuals with similar issues, being sold a used car that was unsafe on the roadways - my situation was a death wobble in a jeep wrangler, blinkers malfunctioning, wiper blades not working properly - two of those are a legal responsibility of the dealership (seller) to ensure in working condition and they failed.they also attempted to fraudulently represent my cars trade in value by showing me a kbb.com price that is only for cars traded in requiring repairs, i traded in a near new jeep.if the ag's office does not act on this claim i would hope that your office would, or at least work together in bringing charges to stop prime auto from selling cars until a full investigation is complete and all previous customers contacted and made available their legal remedies for the dealerships actions in selling unsafe vehicles that could potentially harm multiple, victims, not just the buyer.their facebook page has more complaints similar in nature to mine, https://www.facebook.com/pg/prime-auto-sales-133282653449388 so does yelp.i strongly encourage a legal injunction to prevent their sales until a full investigation into their business practices conducted otherwise with notification, failure to do so would morally and ethically be wrong and i have heard nothing but great things about this office as well as the arizona ag!thanks for hearing this complaint and taking action where legally and responsibly needed.regards,[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Clockspring came apart inside steering column.lost ability to steer, air bag shut off, use horn, and cruise control.warranty did not cover.

As i was leaving for work one morning i hit the key alarm to unlock doors and jeep began honking, windshield wipers turned on and began spraying windshield fluid. I thought it was odd and didn't think much of it. On the way to work in traffic it began doing the same thing and this occurred 3 times in about 30 minutes. After getting to work, the jeep would honk by itself every 2-3 minutes. I decided to take in to the dealership. It continued doing this on the way there. As i was about half a mile from the dealership the jeep completely turned off and i immediately had to pull out of traffic. I was able to start back up but this time all a/c had stopped working. After gutting a call back from dealership, he said the part was on backorder and there was at least a 100 orders waiting to be shipped. This concerns me because it looks to be a widespread thing with the jeeps. In doing some research previous to this email there were problems with the tipm on the 2007 jeep and i'm worried some of these bad ones may have gotten into some of the 2008.

The contact owns a 2008 jeep wrangler 4x4. The contact stated that he started the vehicle and allowed it to idle for approximately 3-5 minutes. The contact exited the vehicle and later as he attempted to open the driver's side door, the vehicle burst into flames. The contact mentioned that the fire started on the front passenger's side floorboard where he first saw red flashes. The fire department extinguished the fire and a fire report was filed. The fire department was unable to determine what started the fire. The dealer was contacted and advised the contact that there were no recalls for his particular vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was deemed destroyed. The failure and current mileage was 61,000.

The jeep's horn, wiper blades, wiper fluid and headlights go off by themselves even when the key is not in the ignition.then the jeep began cutting off while driving in the middle of rush hour traffic.

I have and 08 wrangler jk that i recently purchased from dodge dealer. The other day i shut key off and pulled the key and the jeep keep running. I pulled positive terminal and it shut off. Put it back on and started and shut it of no issue. Didn't bother again till about a week later when i went to dr and it did it again. However it shut itself off in a couple minutes, however yesterday when it did itdidn't shut off for the time we were in hannaford aprox 10-15 min... What's the issue......

Randomly won't start. Turn the key and nothing happens. Try 2nd or third try, then it's starts.have replace battery, starter, tested alternator. Car dealer can't figure it out. This problem has been plaguing many jeep owners. Jeep message boards are full of this same complaint. This should be a recall fix.

Constant dinging and airbag light on. Took vehicle to dealership for diagnostic test. Diagnostics showed that a new clockspring was needed. This is a common, very expensive problem among 2008 jeep wranglers.

Horn does not work when you press the horn button on the steering wheel. Horn will work when you press the horn button on the key fob. Fuses are good. I think its a faulty clockspring.

While driving on the interstate highway at 65 mph the electrical system had a control system failure event (this is the third event in 4 days), causing the windshield washer to spray washer fluid onto the windshield dramatically reducing driver visibility, the windshield wipers did not function properly, they only traveled about one-quart inch in time with the horn chirping. The wipers did not function properly even when turned on directly by the driver to address the washer fluid discharging onto the windshield unexpectedly. The driver exited the freeway to the emergency shoulder to avoid an accident. The electrical failure event and the drivers occluded visibility cause by the unexpected discharge of washer fluid and non-properly functioning windshield wipers lasted for the duration of the unexpected electric control system failure event of about 4 mins.. There was no failure indication on the dash panel and no warning that the failure had occurred to the driver. The event was unexpected and without warning and occurred while the motor vehicle was being operated. Service appointment with dealer for the vehicle's electrical control system failures has been scheduled. In my opinion this is a major safety concern that has already or is very likely to result in injury or a fatality. No vehicle system when experiencing any type of failure mode should be able to operate any system on the vehicle in an unsafe and/or unexpected way or really any manner.

Cruise control stopped working, horn stopped working, air bag light stays on and dings constantly.dealership said there was no recall or warranty extension on the faulty clock spring.

I have been in the shop 6 times since dec 2011 for numerous problems. Now we have had it in the shop 2 times in less then 1 week for it not starting. I have put a ton of money in my postal jeep and out of work due to this problem. Finally had it towed bc all the lights on the dash came on. I need this for my job and chrysler could care less. I am beginning to process the lemon law on it. I have put a new battery and cables and had to have it diagnosed 3 times. I am fed up! ( on a sad note i have only owned this car 6 months and have put $3700 in it on what the warranty will not cover.

Frequently when i try to lock my door (with remote entry key), the jeep will honk, but i notice that 1 or both of the doors have not locked (sometimes diver, sometimes passenger, sometimes both). After much experimentation, i can not find a pattern to this. Unlocking and re-locking resolves the problem. Sometimes when unlocking, my jeep makes a loud honk. I have also had trouble starting my jeep a couple times. I go to turn the key, and there is no cranking (lights do turn on). After removing the key and trying again, there is no problem. I had one instance where my jeep was running, and the radio system became completely unpowered (no radio, no time on lcd, nothing). After about 1 minute, the power was restored. This combination of problems makes me worried that this is related to the tipm, which many other wrangler owners are having a problem with. My problems are not yet endangering (although definitely annoying). I am hoping there is no progression of symptoms like other wrangler owners have.

Tipm module is activating the wipers and headlights. Is not allowing turn signals to work after disconnecting battery.dash lights blink, odometer will blank out for a second at times.

The vehicle was parked at a convince store and had only been driven about 3 miles after siting for over 12 hours overnight. While exiting the store the horn, blinkers, door locks and windshield wipers started activiating. The horn was honking, washer fluid spraying, blinkers flashing and door locks locking and unlocking rapidly. I was unable to exeter the vehicle with the key fob and had to use the key to unlock the door. Then after starting the vehicle the above issues continued. I cycled the key with no success. After i oppened the hood the above mentions issues stopped temporarily for approximately 20 seconds then started again. I tapped the tipm and all of the above issues stopped. I know that jeep has had issues with tipm but a recall was never issued to correct the defective part. I feel this is a significant saftety hazard as i was unable to stop the components of the vehicle for malfunctioning. I'm extremely concerned for my safety as if this happened while driving i would not be able to see due to the erratic nature of the washer fluid spray and windshield wipers not functioning.

There is a widely experienced (though unacknowledged by chrysler) issue concerning failure to start on automatic transmissions jk. While in park, turning the key will produce a single click but not crank. If you push the shift lever, while in park, up a little more, or, move the shift lever into neutral, the vehicle starts.the cause of the issue is a poorly designed, easily fatigued transmission range sensor (trs), and/or a weak ground of the same.

When pressing the unlock button from the key transmitter, the lights, horn, wipers andwindshield washer fluid all start going off. After starting the vehicle the same thing happens when the vehicle is moved to reverse.while driving, the instrument cluster starts flashing. Problem was resolved by replacing the tipm. 2008 jeep is not part of the recall for the tipm

Randomly won't start. Turn the key and nothing happens. Try 2nd or third try, then it's starts. Have replace battery, starter, tested alternator , ignition, rpm module box and the fuse box module.car dealer can't figure it out. This problem has been plaguing many jeep owners. Jeep message boards are full of this same complaint. This should be a recall fix.

My 2008 jeep wrangler would not start. It turns out that the wcm module failed. The replacement cost me $336.20. I know several other wrangler owners who have experienced the same part failing. Including one person where this part failed after only owning the car one week.chrysler/jeep will not acknowledge this as a problem with their vehicles.

While driving, the horn, lights and wipers randomly go off and spray fluid everywhere.nothing can be done to stop it and even turning the car off doesn't.it can be very dangerous to me and other drivers since they do not know why my horn is going off for minutes at a time.i don't want to be behind someone at an intersection with my horn and wipers going off.looking online i can see that this is a common problem with this model and should be fixed before someone gets hurt.

The contact owns a 2008 jeep wrangler. The contact stated that the brake light, turn signals, headlights and windshield wipers became inoperative.the vehicle was in the process of getting repaired by the dealer, but the parts were on back order.the manufacturer was notified, but did not assist the contact with the defect. I have a 2008 jeep wrangler 4x4. In this month of december 2012 my jeeps headlights, horn, windshield wipers just started turning on for no reason.the engine will stall at speeds and sometimes there is no throttle response. Have called my local jeep dealer and chrysler..they told me there was no recall for this.i have searched this on the internet and there are hundreds of complaints about the same problem...as a gather from the complains its due to a faulty tipm. This is a major safety hazard in my view and i would like to have something done about it.you are my only hope.

The clock spring in my 2008 jeep wrangler went out in october, 2010. I took the vehicle to the dealership to inquire about getting the part replaced. I thought that since the clock spring is the part responsible for making the airbag deploy in an accident, it was something that should be serviced free of charge, since my airbags were now rendered useless. The dealership told me there was no such policy, so i was forced to purchase a new clock spring out of pocket. The clock spring was approximately $250 in cost. I installed the clock spring myself, and i discarded the old one, thinking i had no use for it anymore.

Airbag warning light goes on and off repeatedly accompanied by a chime.when illuminated, horn will also not work.indicates failed clockspring in steering column - a common occurrence on this series of wranglers.rhd wranglers were recalled for the same problem.

While driving vehicle several issues presented without warning: suddenly the wipers started going, windshield fluid spraying, horn blaring and lights flashing.engine then cut out while underway on a city street rendering power steering, brakes and stability control inoperable.dealer diagnosed this as a bad totally integrated power module (tipm)

All electronic failure clusters lights up on dash. Wipers and headlights come on and cannot be switched off. Indicator lamps, speedometer and rpm are none responsive. Alarm sounds repeatedly until the problem self corrects. All other electrical functions such as radio shuts down. The problem does not affect the motor.

Horn does not work when you press the horn button on the steering wheel. Horn will work when you press the horn button on the key fob. Fuses are good. I think its a faulty clockspring.

1) jeep would not start after shut down 2) had to get a tow to dealership 3) wireless module for c-bus quit working, ordered new one.

When turning i noticed that the vehicle started vibrating and the abs, esp, and traction control lights and also the brake light come on. My son drives this vehicle also and i am afraid the air bag is going to deploy.

Jeep is a stock 2dr 4x4 jeep wrangler x with 28500 miles on it when it first happened. This vehicle has been on a couple of dirt roads but no off road usage. While driving around a curve on loop 470 in denver at 65mph, my jeep began to aggressively "wobble" jackhammer and throw jeep from tire to tire side to side literally jumping inches off the pavement. It was jumping from front right tire to rear left tire to front left. Back and forth 1 tire was on the ground while the other three tires your could feel literally jumping off the road and had no contact with pavement. Very scary. All vehicle control lost at this time. Manual stick was actually being thrown so violently left and right i could not grab it to throw in neutral and stop the vehicle. Braking system had very little effect since all wheels but one were off the pavement. I was able to slow down to 45mph and the death wobble mysteriously stopped and i was able toregain control enough to pull of the freeway and inspect the vehicle. I discovered a little snow around the tirewell but certainly nothing that should cause this violent of a reaction. Very dangerous been driving for 23 years and never seen anything like it.

The contact owns a 2008 jeep wrangler 4x4.the contact stated that the engine malfunctioned and burned the vehicles oil consumption after only two thousand miles. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the entire engine block needed to be replaced in order to repair the vehicle.the vehicle was notrepaired.the contact had a lifetime warranty on vehicle; however, chrysler did not honor the warranty.the approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

My jeep wrangler x 2dr was sitting from 12:15p the day prior to (was a nice day took my motorcycle around town) and at 5:30a i heard a loud noise that woke me out of bed. Ran upstairs & outside the truck was pouring smoke out of my hood... Than taking action my boyfriend unlatched the hood of a possessed truck (blowing the horn constant radio on lights on) and proceeded to disconnect the battery to yield/stop the truck from continuing to burn.called the dealer and they sent someone out to do a claim on the jeep and called me two weeks later saying they would not cover it because its not under manufacturers defect.the insurance company won't cover it either because we stopped the fire... Which i don't understand.now after doing $3000 and upward of there in work replacing all the wiring (computer and fuse box) it still wont run. Helllpppp!

I have been without my jeep for 8 weeks now this car only had 25,245 miles when i purchased it in may 2014 and only a little over 37,500 miles and needs a new engine. I performed routine oil change as suggested by the manufacturer but the technician stated that the oil had burnt up. It appears as though this is a common complaint with this vehicle and excess oil consumption and i would think that this is a manufacturer defect.

For the past 2-3 years i keep hearing ticking from my engine. When i took it to the dealer, they said its nothing. I replaced the spark plugs and cables thinking that it was the cause of the ticking noise. I also changed the exhaust, but the ticking kept on going.for the past 3 months i started smelling fumes in the cabin and when i researched it, it seems like jeep wranglers seem to have a lot of issues with cracked exhaust manifold.i plan on taking it to the same dealer, who told me for the past 3 years, that i have no issues to get it fixed under the life time warrenty

The jeep's horn, wiper blades, wiper fluid and headlights go off by themselves even when the key is not in the ignition.then the jeep began cutting off while driving in the middle of rush hour traffic.

-the contact owns a 2008 jeep wrangler 2-dr 4x4. While driving approximately 55 mph a banging sound was coming from the engine, followed by a decrease in the engine power. The vehicle continued in operation to the residence, and upon inspecting the vehicle there was no oil in the engine. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer where the technician informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure and current mileages were 40,000.

I purchase a 2008 jeep wrangler as an off road vehicle. The model has a key recognition key and in this last year has failed twice. Both times we have had to have the vehicle towed to a dealer, replace the wcm, and reprogram the key. The safety issue is: fortunately i was in edmonton both times the wcm failed. If it had been one month earlier i was 50 miles in the bush with an 80 year old diabetic. No cell phone access. There is no manual override for this vehicletherefore you are stranded. It should not be marketed as an off road vehicle until the problem is corrected.

Chrysler safety recall j24, mopar tow bar.there appears to be a problem within chrysler/jeep ability to fix the problem.even though the recall affects only 308 units the repair parts are not readily available.dealers are restricted to ordering only one repair kit per week.the dealer knows nothing the chrysler hot line assured me (after i inquired about the repair) that the repair kit for my vehicle would be sent to the dealer.they answered my question of when by saying they didn't know when the kit would be sent.great.no more vacation travel pulling a jeep behind the rv until the kit finally comes in.it appears that notification of a problem and solving the problem are not one in the same.

Re: chrysler safety recall j24 - mopar tow e.

The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 60,000.the current mileage was 65,000. The vin was unavailable. Updated 12/12/11*ljupdated 12/13/11

My wrangler headlights stoped working one morning. Turn the headlight switch on for them to flicker on and off a few times over 5 seconds then they stay off all together. Took it to the dealership they scanned it told me it was showing these 4 codes. B162f-right low beam control circuit lowb162c-left low beam control circuit highb162b-left low beam control circuit lowb1630-right low beam control circuit highthey checked over everything and said that it was a faulty tipm.

2008 wrangler 2 door 4x4. Around 28,000 miles the turn signal quit working with no warning. Dealer replaced the turn signal switch. Noticed that same day that the turn signal would not stop after making a left turn. Dealer had to replace it a 2nd time.

Every time i fill up my 2008 jeep wrangler rubicon, the gas tank overflows.doesn't matter if i am holding the nozzle and listening for the tank to fill, it still overflows.this has been happening consistently for the last six months.

2008 jeep wrangler overflows during each gas fill up. Shuts off only after gas is over flowing from gas fill pipe.

Fuel spills out of the filler port during the refueling process.this has happened more frequently when the jeep is running on empty and i fill it up completely.i have a 2008 jeep wrangler jk 2dr sport 4x4.

I have a 2008 jeep wrangler, 2 door, 4x4.the past 4-5 times i have filled up with gas, the gas handle stops when full, then gas starts gushing back out getting all over the side of the vehicle and ground, my estimate would be 1/4-1/2 a gallon each time, minimum.

At approximately 30,000 miles a problem started where i can no longer "fill" my gas tank because no gas pumps will stop on their own. Once the tank is full gas will continue to pump until i physically stop the pump. This did not happen for the first 30,000 miles and just started to happen for no apparent reason. I now judge how much gas i think i need and stop the pump prematurely.

Upon filling the vehicle with fuel, gas overflows from the fueling neck onto the ground, vehicle, and person fueling. Also, manual transmission gear will pop out of first gear on its own.

2008 jeep wrangler jk fuel spills out of filler neck at the end of fueling process. Happens on every fill-up.

I have a 2008 jeep wrangler and every time i go to fill up my gas tank, the tank will not automatically cut off the gas pump when the tank is full.this has been occurring for approx the last 15,000 miles and i currently have 27,000 miles on the jeep.the vehicle was brand new when i purchased it.i have this problem at every gas station i have tried so i do not believe it is a gas pump failure.i have also filled other cars at the same gas stations with no problems.

When i fuel up after it stops it will shoot out the filler neck.

I have a 2008 jeep wrangler, i get gas spillage each time i fill up the tank. Chrysler has issued an extended warrantyfor certain 2007 & 2008 wranglers but mine is not included. Chrysler needs to make good on all vehicles that are having this problem and not just pick a few to fix. Please hear my plea as i am retired and living on a fixed income and it is very difficult to make repairs especially when it is a far reaching problem.

Every time i fill my jeep wrangler my gas tank will overflow. The gas pump will stop, recognizing that the tank is full, but the tank will overflow with about 1-2 cups of gasoline. This is happened at every gas station i go to. I feel that this is a fire andenvironmental hazard. This problem has been occurring for the past 6 months.

Gas pump frequently does not disengage after tank is full causing gasoline to spray over vehicle and on to ground.

2008 jeep jk gas filler tube overflows when automatic gas shutoff occurs during refueling everytime. It has occurred at many different gas stations and pumps. Gas comes out and coats the vehicle and ground.

Gasoline overflows from filler neck everytime we fill up the jeep. Causing gasoline to shoot out all over the person filling up the side of the jeep and onto the ground. This happens everytime.

2008 jeep wrangler jk (2 door). Gas leaks out of top of the filler neck when filling the jeep up with gas. The auto shutoff on the gas pump clicks and then there is prob 1/4 to 1/2 gallon of gas spilling down the side of the car. Intermittent problem and its not because im topping the tank off. There seems like there is something wrong with the car because it happens at all different gas stations with or without the rubber cover on the gasoline pump filler neck.

When filling the fuel tank gas comes rushing out of the filler neck a couple of seconds after the tank reaches full and the auto-shut off on the fuel stations fill pump shuts off. This causes fuel to spill down the side of the jeep wrangler and puddles on the ground. This happens at every fill-up at different fuel stations.

My 2008 jeep wrangler spews gas after the automatic shut-off.i do not top off and have tried several gas stations.the gas pumps clicks off and 3 seconds later i hear a gurgle and about 2 cups of fuel vomits out, runs down my paint, plastic bumper and on the ground.this seems to be a very serious and dangerous thing.i have taken my jeep back to the dealer who replaced the gas tank.the first fill up with the new tank had no issues, from the second fill up on it spews.

When i fill up my 2008 jeep wrangler. Gas shoots back out of the vehicle. Enough to run down the bumper to the ground. If you are not paying attention the gas can get on you.

I have a 2008 jeep wrangler x, while filling this vehicle up with gas upon full or near full when the pump nozzle clicks off fuel spills out of the fill port splashing on the car myself and the ground.

Jeep wrangler 2008 when filling up with the gas spits out all over everytime i fill my tank up.

2008 jeep wrangler manual trans caught on fire while i was driving.

When fueling my 2008 jeep wrangler gas always spills out. I have had it for over a year and it just started about two months ago.i put the gas nozzle in the fill tube and click it on auto fill. The nozzle will click off then a second later gas comes shooting out. I've read on a forum this is a common problem and believe jeep should issue a recall and fix the problem. I also think i should be reimbursed for the $120 dollars i paid to have it checked and not fixed.

I own a 2008 jeep wrangler jk and for about a month when i fillup at the gas station it overflows about a half of quart of gas onto the ground.i have brought the jeep to storm's motors in southampton ny where i purchased same and agreed to replace tank.i have to pay the $100 deductible.i feel this should be a safety recall and not just a warranty issue.

Just purchased a 2008 rubicon and when i go to fill up the gas tank, there is always overflow after the pump shuts off due to being full.the gas splashed out all over my pants leg the first time and still overflows onto the side of the car and pavement.

Fuel spills from the fuel filler during fueling.when the nozzle clicks off, fuel overflows and splashes and spills out the filler and all over the vehicle.

Gasoline overflow's out of gas tank when trying to fill car. Update: tank was full and about a half gallon of fuel came out.

My 2008 jeep wrangler jk 2 door sahara overflows while filling up with gas.it happened sporadically over the last 2.5 years, but in the last 6 months it has happened every other fill-up.the last 5 fill-ups all overflowed spilling gas on the side of my vehicle and on the ground.i contacted my dealer and they ordered a new gas tank and a "tube"...waiting to see if that rectifies the problem.several other jeep owners, specifically on jk forums have noted the same issue and directed me to this website to file a concern.

Gas spits out of filler when nearing full, spills down side of vehicle, sprays whoever/whatever is nearby.

Fuel spills when gas pump does not shut off.

Every few times i fill my gas tank, it overflows.this causes the gas to splash back at me, spill on the car, and pool on the floor. This problem began when i had about 30,000 miles on my vehicle. It is progressively getting worse and now occurs more frequently. To remedy this problem, i have not been topping off my tank.

I have owned this jeep since early may of 2013. Whenever i go to the gas station and fill the tank gas always overflows from the filling neck.when pumping gas when the tank reaches full there is a bubble effect and you can effectively hear the filler neck burp then it spews fuel all over the ground, side of the vehicle and anyone standing close to the fuel door.

Gas overflows and spills out of gas tank everytime i fuel up. Saw no recall but just started reading other people having the same problem. There is a tsb on it i read but only for ones built between march 2007 and march 2008 but mine was on april 2008. There should be a recall on this. It is not safe. Thank you

When filling up the vehicle at any and all gas stations, when the fuel pump handle clicks off automatically, a fairly large splash-back of gasoline exits the filler port and flows onto the vehicle, my hand, and the ground.

I currently do not have the correct date of the first occurance, but since i have bought this jeep i have had it in the shop more than 10 times for a water leak ( the major issue ). Then right after i bought it i was coming off of the bay bridge in maryland, and the streering strut broke causing difficulty steering. The pressure plate in the transmission went bad, the gas tank had to be replaced, my seat broke twice, the boot around the gear shift had to be replaced. The list goes on and on. It was just in the shop on friday to have the water leak in the door and roof repaired again. I tried to file for the lemon law when this first started and they told me my vehicle did not qualify. I have been in touch with chrysler to make them aware of all i have been through and they get me an appointment at the dealer ( big deal ) they act like they could care less. I was told by the manager at the dealership that he had gone to a meeting the other day and that chrysler had "big problems", apparently they have discovered the windshields are off by 1/8 of an inch causing all these vehicles to leak!shouldnt that be a recall. I have lost more time from work and more headaches without a car than enough. They should buy this vehicle back from me at the price i screwed buying it!

The last 5 or 6 times i filled up on gas, the gas overflowed and spilled onto the side of the wrangler and onto the ground.have make an appointment with the dealer i bought it from to look at it and try to determine what the problem and solution is.

My 2008 jeep wrangler x's gas tank overflows upon the last bit of filling the tank.it started at about 20,000 mi.the gas pump shuts off, and then wait a few seconds to hear it coming up the throat of the tank and it spills a good amount of gas everywhere, not just a few drops.there were no particular events leading up to the failure, and it occurs 9/10 times that i get gas.it does not matter which gas station i go to, or what pump is being used.chrysler told me when i brought the jeep into the jeep service department that "they have no solution for the problem".

When filling up my 2008 jeep wrangler with gas, gas will spray out of the filler tube after the pump shuts off.gas will get on my clothes and all over the side of the jeep.this is a very dangerous situation, and an environmentally sensitive one as well.

Everytime i fill my 2008 wrangler with fuel, it spills all over including me. This is a fire hazard as fuel spills all over myself and the jeep. I have tried differentstations and still the same result. Chrysler says there is nothing wrong but i feel this is an accident waiting to happen. Exposed fuel in hot temp with the possibility of sparks by other sources while fueling. It started doing this last july 2009 and continues to this day.

2008 jk wrangler bought new, no accidents 45,000 miles. Every time i fill up with gas, gas spews out all over the jeep and ground seems i cannot fill it slow enough to stop this. It happens 90% of fill ups at multiple pumpsserious fire hazard. Gascap light is on even with the cap tight.

My 2008 jeep wrangler will spill gas out almost every time i fill the tank if i hold the nozzle on anything above about a quarter open. As it nears full, the pump clicks off and then whoosh, out comes about a quart of gas, spilling down the side and onto the parking lot.it did not do this when i first bought it. It started doing this about 6 months ago. I never contacted the dealer as my warranty is up. Ireally didn't give this much thought as i have learned if i just trickle the last few gallons in, it only happens to me about 25% of the time. However, after stumbling across a jeep forum on the internet and finding out that there are many people out there with this exact same problem, i realize that somebody is going to get killed by an explosion or fire eventually.

The vehicle when filling with gasoline overflows each and every time regardless of filling station used.this is a known jeep wrangler problem for 2007-2008 models but chrysler is not correcting the problem for vehicles built after march 31,2008.my build date is 06-08.i don't know what changed after 3/31/08 but the problem exists for jeeps built after that date.this is an extremely dangerous condition both public safety and environmental.dealer wants $100 to diagnose problem.chrysler needs to step up and fix this known safety defect.

Gas overflow at time of vehicle fillup.

Gas tank overflow and spray when filling up.

Fuel spill back during refueling. Gasoline splashes out after tank is full, soaking vehicle and anyone standing near. Tsb#14-001-011 covers problem but my vehicle's built date is one day off. Problem still exist for my vehicle.

Filling up at the gas station the gasoline overflows out of the tank, it happens almost every time i fill up my 2008 jeep wrangler.

Gas shoots back out of the filler neck onto me, the jeep, & the ground before the pump cuts off every time i fill it up. This just started a few months ago. I bought the jeep from a friend who purchased it new, &she said that it had just started doing it a few weeks before i got it from them. It never happened until the jeep got about 40,000 miles on it.

2008 jeep wrangler jk spills gasoline out of filler neck whenever filling up tank.

When you fill the jeep up it always spits fuel on the ground and you if your standing too close. Not a little a lot.

I purchased a 2008 jeep wrangler and every time i fill up with gas the pump does not shut off and it spills over.this happens weekly, every time i'm at the pump.chrysler/jeep will not correct the problem.

I have a 2008 jeep wrangler sahara.starting in november 2010, every time i fill my tank up completely the gas pump shuts off at full and then gas pours out of the fill neck.it overflows down the side of the jeep and onto the gas station floor.it has happened 4 times in a row and at different gas stations.

When putting fuel in the vehicle, it spits the fuel back out...takes about 20 minutes to fill up and being very careful.

Every time i fill the tank on my 2008 jeep wrangler a significant amount of fuel overflows out of the tank.this is a serious health and safety issue.this problem occurs when i fill the tank myself or when an attendant fills it.i have been told by the attendant at my local station that this is common to this make and model.

Every time i fill up with gas, my 08 jeep wrangler 2door will overfill.it doesn't matter what station i am at, or how much gas was in the tank previously.it will always spew about a cup of gas on the side of the vehicle and pavement upon filling.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6w487onksothe link is to a video i found of a person that has a similar problem, also with a wrangler.

Fuel gushes out of filler all over the side of the vehicle and all over the ground. Pump clicks off and 1/2 second later comes out of filler. Happens at every gas pump no matter brand. All do it. Problem with angle? pump doesnt fit properly into filler.

2008 wrangler 2 door. At about 25,000 miles, started overflowing when i filled up gas tank. I didn't worry about it too much until i had another issue and went in for service at the dealer. That is when i complained about it. They said the shut-off valve inside the tank was stuck and replaced the gas tank. 100 miles later, the engine light came on. Dealer inspected it and said there was a faulty emissions valve on the gas tank and would have to replace it again.

While pumping gas, fuel overflows and spills out onto the ground.

If i fill up my 2008 jeep wrangler the gas overflows and shoots back out of the tank at the end.

While fueling my vehicle, it overflows gasoline as the tank approaches full and the nozzle shuts off.

When filling the fuel tank gas always comes spilling out of the filler hole.it does not matter if you are holding the pump handle with your hand or letting the pump shut off automatically. There seems to be some strange bubble effect and the gasoline burps back out of the filler hole and sprays all over the ground, the side of the vehicle and anyone standing close to the vehicle while it's being fueled. I filed a complaint three months ago and received no response. This is a very serious issue..could result in fire, loss of property or death.

Fuel does not shut-off at fuel pump and gas spills out every time i re-fuel. The dealership didn't fix this when i recently had the vehicle serviced because it wasn't a re-call. I have since complained and it will be fixed under warranty during my next visit.

My 2008 jeep jk rubicon spews gas and ejects the gas pump when it reaches capacity.it doesn't happen everytime, but every third time.i now have to "gauge" how much gas is in the tank and stop it before it fills up.when it overflows, nearly a pint to two pints spew out all over my jeep, gas station floor and several times over myself.this is a serious health and environmental hazard.imagine someone lighting a cigarette after a fuel up forgetting he just got gasoline on him.

Starting months ago whenver i fill my tank at the gas station, fuel overfills when full.it happens at every station now everytime.i can put the fill lever at a lower fill rate and it still happens.i have the fill nozzle in all the way or out half way or in between and it does not matter.it leaks out about 6 - 12 oz down the vehicle.the entire vehicle smells like gas everytime.

When filling up the gasoline tank on my 2008 jeep wrangler x 2-dr, the gas pump does not automatically stop and the gas pours back out of the filler hole and runs down the side of the jeep and onto the ground.this never happened for the first few month of owning the jeep brand new from the dealer, over time it has gotten significantly worse.

I have a 2008 jeep wrangler, 2 door. At around 30,000 miles, i started to experience gas overflow when filling up. When the pump is left to automatically shut off, it will and then gas will flow out of the fill up tube. It has been anywhere from shooting out to just running down the side of the jeep. I would guess at least a cup of gas. This happens at various fuel pumps and different stations.i contacted the dealer and they said they have never heard of such a thing and maybe it was the pump. I told them it had happened at several different pumps, but they would do nothing. I now have to guess when the tank is about filled and go thelowest flow setting on the pump handle. If i get this right, i don't get gas on me or all over the side of my jeep.never had this problem when it was new and i think this is a safety hazard that should be fixed.

While refueling my 2008 jeep wrangler the fuel fill would overflow when full rather than cause the gas pump to trip. This happened every time i would refuel. I took the vehicle to the dealer and they replaced the gas tank and the evap canister.

Everytime when filling up at a gas station the nozzle clicks off and then gas spews out of the filler neck approx 2 cups.

Fuel spit-back.

When fueling my 2008 jeep wrangler fast, the automatic shutoff will click off when the tank is full. Then the tank spits gasoline back out of the filler neck and down the side of the jeep. A couple times i tried filling the tank at the slowest automatic rate and the valve didn't shut off when the tank was full. This started in early 2010, but it wasn't on every tank fill. Now, it happens every time i try to completely fill the tank. As of today i have under 29,000 miles on the jeep.

Every time i fill up my 2008 jeep wrangler, fuel spills out of the filler neck.i took the jeep to the dealer who told me that the vent valve in the fuel tank is sticking and that i needed to replace the entire tank to correct the problem.*ln

Gas tank overflows - at 13,500 my fuel tank began overflowing badly at every fillup.i know this is an extremely common problem on 2007+jeep wrangler jks. Many times the fuel ends up on the pants and shoes of the person filling up the tank.chrysler needs to make this an official recall before someone gets hurt.

I have a 2008 jeep wrangler. Each time i refuel the gas tank it spews gasoline on me as well as the vehicle and the ground. This is a fairly large amount and must be a fire safety as well as a health hazard from direct skin contact. I purchased this vehicle from the dealership used and under warranty approximately 8 months ago. This problem started about 2 1/2 months ago after warranty expired. I am taking vehicle back to dealership along with a printout of the complaints already voiced of the same nature since this appears to be a ongoing problem with these vehicles.

I was in the process of filling gas tank of 2008 jeep wrangler. As tank filled to capacity, pump shut off, could hear click in handle, but gas overflowed back out of tank onto jeep, my shoes and pants leg.

When filling with gas, before the tank approaches full, gasoline spews out around the filler nozzle all over the side of the jeep.now that this problem has started, it occurs every time i fill up.i have had the jeep for about a year and it was fine until recently.chrysler has extended the warranty for jeeps with this problem for jeeps made between march 2007 and march 2008.my jeep was made in may of 2008 so it is not covered.i have read on the net that many people with this issue have had the gas tank replaced and it has solved this problem.this is a dangerous situation and i am not sure what to do about it.

Jeep wrangler 2008, gas tank overflows upon every fill up, shoots gasoline onto the hands, arm and potentially the face. The occurs every time i fill up my jeep, and is a potential fire hazard.

My 2008 jeep wrangler sahara has fuel overflow every time that i fill the tank. It spills all over the side of the car, on the ground, and on myself if i am in front of the nozzle. I took it in 2 years ago, and was told that everything was fine. I have tried filling it differently, but it still spills a little when it is almost full. It makes my hands stink, and my garage. I am afraid it will corrode the paint on my car. I have heard of other wranglers with the same problem, and my wife has a 2009 wrangler that has the exact same problem.

Fuel overflows during fillup causes spilled gasoline on the vehicle and also on the ground. This happens at multiple fuel stations ruling out gas pump as defective. The fuel system appears to not signal the pump to stop pumping gas when full.

2008 jeep wrangler x.gas overflow.purchased the vehicle in march 2010.so this problem could have been happening for the first 36,000 miles prior to our purchase.

Everytime i fill up the vehicle gas spills out of the filler neck after the fuel nozzle shuts off.

When ever i fill up with gas, fuel spits back out at me.

Fuel overflow when filling up with gas.the pump doesn't shut off until after it has spilled all over the ground and side of the vehicle. Happens on a regular basis.*ln

I have a 2008 jeep wrangler 2dr hardtop with 30,000 miles.everytime i fill up at the gas station, the gas nozzle instead of shutting off properly, it spews gas from the tank all over the ground.the gas runs all down my paint and onto the ground.

2008 jeep wrangler x. Lately when i fill up the gas tank it overflows. I've had the jeep since september 2007. The last 4 fillups this has been an issue at multiple stations.it overflows if i hold it manually, or use the locking mechanism on the fuel gun. It overfills even when it "clicks" off. This has to be dangerous. I am now in the habit of putting in less gas so as not to deal with gasoline spilling out of my tank and all down my fenders and bumpers.this is not safe. There are many complaints out there. Chrysler should issue a recall for this problem. Gasoline fumes and cars are not something that should be taken lightly.

Gas tank overflows when i fill up on my 08 wrangler.

When filling the fuel tank on my '08 jeep wrangler, the tank overflows and spills gas all over the side of the vehicle.i lock the tab on the fuel nozzle to auto fill the tank, and everything works as normal until the pump shuts off.when the pump shuts itself off, it is quickly followed by gas gushing back out of the filler port.the first time it happened, it sprayed gas all over my pants, shoes, gloves, all over the back corner of my jeep, and left a 3ft diameter puddle of fuel on the ground.i have had the jeep since new (bought in feb '09) and it just turned 40k miles.the first instance happened about 2 weeks ago, and it has happened three more times since then.

When filling my 2008 jeep wrangler (2 door) with gas and the pump automatically shuts off about 0.5gal of gas will spill out of the fill tube on me, my car, and the ground. Got a nice gas burn on my foot the first time this happened. The second time i stood away from the car not knowing if the problem was with the gas pump or my car.after having gas spill from my car twice i don't fill the tank any more and every time i do put gas in i am afraid i will have another spill as i am not sure how full i can get it before i have problems again.

Fuel spill while refueling. After nozzle automatically clicks off, fuel is sometimes ejected back out from the filler neck. Fuel is spilled on the vehicle, the ground, and in some cases the person refueling. Problem occurs about 75% of trips to the gas station.updated 02/07/11

The fuel tank in my 2008, 2 door, jeep wrangler jettisons fuel at each fill-up. I'm told the roll-over valve has failed and that this is common for jeep wrangler jks.if the roll-over valve in the gas tanks in most models of a vehicle are defective, seems like the manufacturer should recall the vehicles for proper safety repair.

I have a 2008 jeep wrangler jk that spills about 1/2 gallon of gas on me, the side of the vehicle and the ground when it is filled with gas.the dealer tells me it is a defective roll over valve in the gas tank and that i have to replace the gas tank.i have been told you have started an investigation into this #pe10032.i would like to add another complaint to this.thank you

On september 10, 2008 i purchased a new 2008 jeep wranglerfrom my local dealer. It has had modest use under normal driving conditions and has been properly maintained. It has approximately 18,500 miles on it. I have had no problems with the vehicle, except a month ago i started experiencing problems with the gas shooting out of the tank near the end of filling up.i could avoid the problem only if i shut off the gas as it neared the top (before the point when it is shut off by the nozzle??s own mechanism). However if i filled the tank on the jeep as i do on our other car (and as i did on the jeep prior to last month), the gas would shoot out of the tank, spilling on the side and on my fingers, and on one occasion, on my pant leg. I consider this problem of gas spilling outside the car a very dangerous condition which needs to be remedied.i had not received any recall or service action notices from the manufacturer about this problem. So i did an internet search and discovered that there had been a number of other people experiencing the same problem and that the manufacturer had issued a recall for 2007 and 2008 wranglers manufactured between march 2007-march 2008. I checked my vehicle and determined it was manufactured in may 2008. However the problem was the identical problem complained about and which was the subject of the recall.i therefore contacted my dealer and was eventually advised that they would replace the fuel tank as an emission problem covered by a lifetime warranty.i would certainly think it advisable for the manufacturer be required to notify its owners of this problem and/or issue a recall of the affected vehicles. Please note that issues relating to vehicle defects and recalls is not part of my professional practice and i have no interest in this matter other than being a single jeep owner.

2008 jeep jk gas filler tube overflows when automatic gas shutoff occurs during refueling everytime.it has occurred at many different gas stations and pumps.gas comes out and coats the vehicle and ground.

Gas spills out of tank at every fill-up. No topping off, will spill out even if underfilled. Known issue being reported for jeep jk at jk-forum.com.

We have a 2008 jeep wrangler, 2 door. 4x4 .whenever we fill the gas tank with the automatic shutoff att he pump engaged, gas overflows out of the car before automatically shutting off. Thishappens all the time and various gas stations throughout the year. Now we have to manually listen to the gas flowing in and stop it from filling up entirely.this is a problem at full service stations, like getty, or when we are in new jersey (full service is mandatory in nj).this is not only a major inconvenience but this has to be a safety hazard. Does someone have to die before chrysler/jeep recognizes this as a defect.

Every timei fill up my 2008 jeep wrangler. Gas shoots back out of the vehicle and down the side of the vehicle and on your hand and arm.

Gas overflows on filling gas tank.

When gassing up vehicle- fuel willregurgitate out fuel neck onto person fueling and all over vehicle and ground.happens every time i fuel regardless of how slow i fuel vehicle.extremely dangerous!

2008 jeep wrangler -- gas overspills when filling up.happens at different gas stations numerous times.

I was fueling my 2008 2d jeep rubicon, the auto-fill lever on the gas pump click to stop filling, then gas overflowed the tank.about 1 cup of gas went all over bumper, side of jeep and my shoes.this has since happened at every fuel station everytime.

When fueling my 2008 jeep wrangler x (2dr) and setting the pump to auto fill the fuel overflowsonce the tank was filled completely. The pump clicked off and the fuel tank then "vomited" a lot of fuel out.

I have a 2008 jeep wrangler that overflows fuel everytime i fill it up.within a half second of the pump shutting off fuel sprays out of the fill tube.all over the jeep, all over me, all over the ground. Even if i decrease the flow to a trickle it still overflows.

Jeep jk wrangler 2008 - gas tank overflows at every fill up splashing gasoline onto pump, person, vehicle and ground.risk of fire and or explosion.problem started about two years into vehicle and has not gone away.dealer not repairing problem since vehicle warranty expired due to mileage; not years.

I have a 2008 jeep wrangler x and during refueling, often times it begins to overflow before the pump will shut off. I had to stop trying to actually fill up, it would do this without even trying to top off the tank. It would not click off like it had with other cars i have owned.

I own a 2008 jeep wrangler where fuel spills out of the filler port during the refueling process. This condition occurs when the fuel tank is filled to the full or nearly full level and the gas pump automatically shuts or clicks off. This occurs every time i fill up with gas, and every time it happens, a significant amount of gasoline is splashed all over the driver side rear corner of the vehicle, the ground, and sometimes the person filling the tank. It first happened roughly 600 miles after the bumper to bumper warranty expired, so the dealership currently will not cover the repair.

Fuel always spills from filler when allowing pump to automatically turn off.

Starting at 35k miles on my 2008 jeep wrangler...each fill up at the gas station, gas would spew out after the gas pump would click off. This is a very hazardous condition. The only way not to have the gas spill out is to not fill the tank up. A definite flaw in design as i've been reading its happening to lots of jeep owners from 2007-2010.

Gas tank overflows when being filled.this is a scary situation when others at the station might be smoking, using a cell phone, etc.this happens most every time you fill the tank.i now try to guess and keep the tank at 3/4's.

1. Every time i get gas my gas tank on my 08 jeep wrangler overflows.2. It occurs every time i get gas. It causes me to spill gas down the side of my jeep and on the ground.3. The dealership will not do anything since i am 10k past my warranty.

Every time i fill my vehicle up with fuel, at the end of the fill up, fuel comes gushing out of the fuel tank neck, after the pump has performed its auto shutoff.at least 1 - 2 cups of fuel is spilled on the ground every time this occurs.the dealer said that i should idle at the pump for 60-90 seconds before performing a fill up.i have attempted this and it has no effect on the flue gushing out of the tank.

When refueling, my 2008 jeep wrangler does not stop the gas flow before the tank is full. About 20-30 ounces of gasoline usually bubbles out of the gas inlet after the pump stops, leaving a puddle of gas on the ground every time. Currently the problem has not been resolved.

Fuel tank overflow. When refilling from empty, the tank will spray fuel out the filler spout after the pump shots off automatically.dealer has replaced the evap canister and essim valve and results are the same. It still "burps" fuel out and makes a mess.

I own a 2008 jeep wrangler rubicon 2 dr. When filling the gas tank the gas will gush out when it's full and the pump shuts off. I have been splashed with gas as well as gas flows out on onto the ground.

Gas spillage when filling gas tank on 2008 jeep wrangler 2 door sahara.

Fuel overflows when filling at the gas station.pump appears not to automatically shut off in time as the tank approaches the full mark and gas overflows from the filler tube.this is a recent problem.

Fuel overflow from filler tube and sprays onto person pumping fuel, vehicle and surrounding environment.this happen every time we fuel jeep.we have had the jeep since 2008 and problem started in december 2010.this jeep looks brand new and garage kept and never been off road.

When fueling my 2008 jeep wrangler (jk), and allowing the fuel pump to automatically turn off when the gas tank reaches the full level, fuel will often overflow out of the fill port.my assumption is that the pump is not turned off soon enough, leading to an overflow situation.

2008 jeep wrangler 2d fuel tank overflows when full.

Spills gas out when filling up.

The vehicle spills fuel every time it is filled at the gas pump. This happens every time it is filled regardless of the gas station or outside temperature. This has happened since i purchased the vehicle in 2012.

Gasoline overflows from the tank during refueling and does not shut-off. This has occurred several times at several different gas stations and pumps over several years. The gas just gushes out when the automatic shut off kicks in on the pump and creates a large spill and all over jeep and tires. This is now occurring almost every fill up and occurred yesterday and appears others are having the same issue.

When you fill up the gas tank, it overflows & spit gas back out.

Fuel tank overflows, spilling all over the side of my vehicle, clothing, feet, shoes, hand/arm, etc.this occurs ever time i go to fill up my gas tank, regardless of the gas station or pump that i use.these incidents are becoming more and more of a hassle because i can't go into work covered in gasoline therefore i'm forced to be late to my job because i have to go home and wash the gasoline off and change clothes.

I purchased this vehicle a month ago and every time i fill it up fuel spills rapidly from the filler neck. I understand this is a common problem and i would like to get it fixed.

Every time i fill up my jeep with gas it overflows and spills gas all over the ground and in some cases me....

Tipm module is activating the wipers and headlights. Is not allowing turn signals to work after disconnecting battery.dash lights blink, odometer will blank out for a second at times.

Tank overflows with fuel everytime i fill it up with fuel causing a safety issue.

An unsafe condition is created upon completion of refueling.after pump cut-off fuel spillage occurs on every refueling operation.this condition is unaffected by changing speed at which refueling is performed.this is not due to "topping off," regardless of pump speed, on first pump cut-off spillage occurs.this constitutes wasted money and creates a personal safety hazard as well as an environmental hazard.this has happened on every fill-up for the last several months, most recently today, 29 november 2015.

Since the above date, every time i fill my vehicle with fuel, it overflows.this happens at every station since that date, and at all fueling rates.this is an inconvenience as well as a safety hazard.my fuel system is unaltered from its original factory condition to date.

Every time i fill up my gasoline tank it overflows.spits back and gets gas all over, down the side of my jeep, on me, and the ground.its dangerous and smells awful when it gets on clothes or when i have to put the cap back on and its covered in gasoline.very frustrating problem to have.

Purchased this vehicle on 10/29/2011.at first fuel fill up and every subsequent fuel fill up, the fuel back splashes and overflows on to the car.apparently, the design of the fuel tank does not allow the pump to shut off before it overflows resulting in fuel spillage on the vehicle and the ground with each fill up.

Hood raises up 2 to 3 inches during high winds or when passed by approaching large truck.

This is an ongoing problem with the e- brake. The brake has been adjusted in the past by the dealer. The car rolls with the e-brake on and in first gear unless the brake is pulled up extremely tight.

Emergency/parking brake failure. Shortly after purchase i noticed the parking brake did not hold the vehicle in place like it should. Upon parking one evening, i must have left the vehicle in neutral but i had set the brake fully. In the morning, my jeep had drifted forward into my other vehicle, causing minor damages to both. The dealer checked the vehicle and claimed nothing was wrong. To this date, and mileage (60,000) the brake will not hold the vehicle on the slightest of grade.

My jeep has been jumping out of gear.in traffic, driving in 1st gear, at about 5-10 mph, flat terrain in a straight direction, it jumps out of gear.my jeep has jumped out of gear in intersectionswhen i am starting from a stop, flat terrain, going straight or turning, it will jump out of first as i am accelerating, i have had several instances where i was almost rear ended.when stopping at a sign or red light, as i start in 1st gear it will aggressively jump out of gear causing me to roll back when on a hill, where i have almost run into the vehicle behind me. There is a service bulletin issued by mopar " number: 21-001-10 rev. A group: transmissiondate: april 20, 2010"i took my jeep to have the gear fixed on 04/16/2018 the parts were on back order, not arriving to the dealership until 05/10/2018 and it was finished on 05/18/2018.i am convinced the back order of my parts is due to the fact that this is happening to many other jeep owners.the dealer found my 1st gear synchronizer was damaged and replaced it

The manual transmission/stick shift constantly violently pops out of 1st and 3rd gear into neutral while accelerating causing a sudden, unexpected loss of power and control over the vehicle.the driver must come to a complete stop in traffic or have the vehicle continue to roll forward (or backward if on an upslope) while trying to re-engage the transmission.unless and until the driver is able to re-engage the transmission, there is no active control over the forward movement of the vehicle to maintain vehicle speed or avoid a potential collision.this can lead to serious damage and/or injury to the vehicle, driver, drivers of other vehicles and pedestrians.this has been a continuing problem since the vehicle was new.manufacture issued a tsb (#21-001-10 rev. A) regarding this issue caused by bad a synchronizer assembly.dealer refused to correct the problem when the vehicle was under warranty b/c it happened less frequently then and dealer couldn't independently diagnose the problem.now that it happens constantly the dealer refuses to correct the problem b/c the vehicle is out of warranty.this is a known dangerous defect but the dealer/manufacturer refuses to correct it.

Synchro problem 'jumps violently out of 1st gear [jog] since 35k miles

Manual trans pops out of first gear when starting off from stop. Did not happen often at first. Over course of time it happened more and more. Took to dealer 5/8/2013 with 76800 miles as it was happening almost daily. They fixed it by adjusting shifter boot ( i think there is a chrysler tsb on problem) and it was okay for about 90 days and it is doing it again. Dealer has been wonderful but their hands are tied.this is an accident waiting to happen.

My vehicle was parked and i had turned the ignition off, removed my keys, and walked away from the vehicle. The vehicle was parked on a flat surface at the time of the incident. Upon walking away from the vehicle the vehicle started rolling forward by itself. My vehicle rolled into the back of another vehicle causing 4,000 dollars in damages to the other vehicle. No major damages occurred to my vehicle.

Manual transmission pops out of first gear causing vehicle to stall.this occurs when starting from a stopped position as the clutch is released.this occurs when going straight and turning.this is dangerous when entering a roadway with other traffic.seems to be a common problem with early jeep jk wranglers.

The jeep jumps out of gear without any warning almost causing a accident with the car behind me!

When accelerating from a stop in a 6-speed manual transmision, the jeep will at times jump out of gear with a violent jerk and loud sound. This could cause the driver to react or a vehicle behind to rear end the now not moving vehicle while the jeep driver recovers.

This affects 6 speed manual transmissions. The car violently pops out of first gear when accelerating. They even issued a tsb on it. It has done this multiple times but i almost had a very serious accident last week when pulling out onto a major highway from a stop. This will get someone seriously injured or killed.

Pops out of first gear.when you start out in 1st gear it will pop out, causing the jeep to stall in traffic.very dangers!!!

At 13k miles i was forced to pay for a new clutch. This is my second jeep, so i clearly know how to drive it. At this low mileage this is unbelievable and highly suspicious. Just outside of warranty. Jeep refused to even discuss the matter. When i returned a call in their findings i was repeatedly read the e-mail i sent and nothing was explained. My dealership told me not to worry about the loaner over the weekend, then tried to force me to pay for it. The clutch exploded on a busy highway during morning rush hour.

Sitting at a stop light the car burst into flames and burnt to the ground.the fire department said it was caused by transmission fluid boiling out of a vent and hitting the hot exhaust pipe

Occasionally my transmission violently "pops" out of first gear when i am moving from a complete stop. I have now made a habit of holding the shift level into 1st gear and sometimes it forces my hand and the shift lever out of gear no matter how hard i am pushing the shift lever.

While turning right from a stop sign on to a major highway with 55 mile an hour speed limit i began to merge into traffic when suddenly the transmission jumped out of first gear causing a loud banging and shiftier violently jumping backwards out of my hand and causing my jeep to stop accelerating only a few feet from the stop sign and into traffic. I was able to quickly get the transmission back into first gear and merge without incident. This problem was intermittent for almost 6 months and never could i get it to happen when i brought it in to get serviced for this problem. The more i drove the jeep the more often the problem would occur, until december of 2018 when it would jump out of gear almost every time i started from a dead stop. It was impossible to drive anywhere without being nervous that the next time i tried to start from a dead stop i would either be broadsided or rear ended because of the sudden loss of power. I understand that jeep has issued a technical bulletin for this problem but i have waited for parts specifically for this repair for several weeks and possibly will be in in about 10 more days according to the service advisor.i have owned several manual transmission vehicles all of them for over 200,000 miles each have never had problems with internal gears and synchronizers. The jeep has been serviced and is well taken care of not used for towing or any other heavy loading. I don't believe i have done anything out of the ordinary to cause this problem, i do believe that jeep has a problem with this transmission and is not taking responsibility to repair them.thanks.....

Wrangelr rubicon 2 dr stalling at interstate / highway speed, started doing this at approx 10,000 miles.started doing this 152 miles in to a 320 mile trip and did this numerous times between 10,000 and 10,090 miles were i had to pull over onthe interstate as the vehicle engine quit completely or sometimes you could pump the gas and the engine would come back to life, but not often.filled up with gas at 10,090, thought maybe i had gotten bad gas however it happened again approx 68 miles into the new full tank of gas and continued happening at highway speed were iwould have to pull over and it would die.jeep restarted everytime, sometimes it would take numerous times to restart.this situation is very dangerous.i limpedto my destination only to discover that most chyrsler/jeep dealer service departments are closed on saturdays so looks like i am stuck until monday to get it to a dealer in a different state from where i live.can't believe it.

When at complete stop and proceeding to drive forward, the jeep pops out of first gear with a loud bang, and then is usually a little stiffer to get into second.this has happened 8 times since purchasing the vehicle used almost 3 weeks ago.this is a safety concern because if i were crossing traffic and popped into neutral, i could be t-boned and badly hurt.thanks.

The contact owns a 2008 jeep wrangler 2-dr 4x4.while driving 5 mph up an extremely steep gravel road incline, the oil warning light illuminated and the vehicle would not accelerate. The rpms continued to increase but the vehicle would not accelerate.the vehicle was shifted into neutral for approximately 5 minutes and the oil light shut off.he was then able to operate the vehicle as normal.the weather was described as very hot during the failure.the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where he was informed that the transmission fluid potentially became extremely hot, causing the failure. The dealer advised the contact to install a cooler.the vehicle was not repaired.the failure and current mileage was 35,900.

My 2008 jeep wrangler was recalled due to overheating fluid in the automatic transmissions.the "solution" provided by jeep is to add a warning light/chime to alert the driver of high transmission fluid temperature.since the overheated oil can overflow from the transmission and ignite potentially causing catastrophic fire, i do not feel the problem has been addressed properly.the appropriate fix for the problem is to install an auxiliary cooler for the transmission fluid.such a cooler could prevent the overheating of the transmission fluid and, thereby, prevent damage to the transmission or possible fires.the recall "fix" by jeep has not repaired the problem and does not remedy this dangerous defect in the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2008 jeep wrangler. The contact stated that his transmission over heated and the fluid leaked on the exhaust which caused a fire to occur. The failure caused the plastic fuel lines to melt which caused the fire to spread under the engine compartment destroying the entire vehicle. There were no injuries. The manufacturer stated 22 days ago that a representative would inspect the vehicle; however, he has not received a call. A police/fire report is available if needed.the failure mileage was 28,000.

2008 jeep wrangler 2 door 4x4 clutch squeal been to shop 3 times replaced disk on 2nd visit per tsb noise stated again in 200 miles. I went back a 3rd time dealer says "can't reproduce sound after 3 drives" i pull out of lot within 200 yards the noise is audible. Vehicle has 1300 miles on it also roof leaks 3 times in shop to fix still not correct missing parts of seal on roof.

From the time i bought the car, when i would put it into 1st gear, it would pop out of gear once i applied the gas.this would happen daily.i told my dealer about this and because they could not duplicate the problem, they were unable to do anything about it.finally, almost 2 years later, i was on the freeway and the whole gear shifter came out and i was unable to put the car into neutral, almost getting into an accident.i then had the car towed to the nearest dealer where they replaced the gear shifter and told me that the part that held it together was broken and that must have been the reason why it would pop out of gear, because it was never able to be locked in properly.they still can not open up the insides to see if there is anything else wrong unless the problem happens again and they are able to witness it.so basically, i have to be put in a situation where this can happen again in order for them to "maybe" witness it, or i can get into a terrible accident, something i narrowly escaped last time.they can not open anything up because they will not get reimbursed unless they are certain something is wrong, then they will go to the source and investigate, when they know they will get paid for it.

I purchased a new 2008 jeep wrangler sahara edition in april of 2008.since november of 2008 i have had several issues with the jeep which are widely reported on the internet.the first issue was the transmission would pop out of first gear when it was cold or rainy.i immediately took it back to the dealer but they would not fix it because they couldn't get the problem to reoccur.it took chrysler 1 year before they acknowledged the problem.so in the spring of 2010 they installed a gear rebuild kit.meanwhile i was driving an unsafe vehicle for an entire year.the mechanic informed me that this was a temporary fix and that the problem would likely occur again.sure enough just six months ago the transmission started to pop out of first gear.now i am battling to try and get the dealer to fix it again.the second issue which just occurred last week and earlier today is what the internet refers to as the "death wobble."once i get above 55mph and i hit a pot hole the jeep wobbles uncontrollably until i completely stop.according to most forums the dealership also gives customers a very hard time about fixing this issue as well. I will attempt to contact the dealer tomorrow about the death wobble.this jeep wrangler 07-10 has some serious issues which need to be address immediately.chrysler needs to issue recalls before someone gets seriously hurt.this is my third jeep wrangler, my first new wrangler, and i am very disappointed in it.

2008 jeep wrangler. Manual transmission jumps out of gear from 1st to 2nd gear, happens at least once a week, loud popping noise, no tsb from chrysler jeep.

Occasionally my transmission violently "pops" out of first gear when i am moving from a complete stop. I have now made a habit of holding the shift level into 1st gear and sometimes it forces my hand and the shift lever out of gear no matter how hard i am pushing the shift lever.

Stock jeep 2008 wrangler x 29,000 miles has j.o.g. Violently jumps out of gear when accelerating in first gear. Swear you were rear ended by a car the first time it happens. Expect to find the whole transmission is laying on the street. Jeep claims is a soft boot problem and then if that doesn't fix it they replace the whole transmission. The condition is very dangerous trying to make a yielding turn on green. I have narrowly avoided getting t-boned when i had transmission failure in the middle of a 5 lane road. Have almost been rear ended several time at a green light because it will accelerate normally for a second and then violently pop out of gear bringing the jeep to a halt. Gear shift popped out and jammed my middle finger on my hand so bad it still hurts 3 weeks later. Started happening after my death wobble experience at 29000 miles. Looking around this is a problem with 6 speed manual since the new model came out in 2007. Engineering flaw. Tranny should never pop out of gear under load unless there is a transmission failure. Jeep claims the tranny is fine and install a new soft boot. Thanks jeep/chrysler.

2008 jeep wrangler 6 speed manual transmission that pops out of first gear. Started popping out in september of 10' when i was starting to drive after stopping for a red light and went to turn left and it popped out of first with a loud bang, its happened almost every time i drive my car multiple times to the point where i am scared to drive it. I had it looked at multiple times at my dealership and they said they couldn't find the problem, finally in january of 2011 when i told them about the 1000 or other complaints i had read the re-looked at the vehicle and they put in a new shifter boot, the day i picked the car up from the dealership it started jumping out of gear again, my car has no been in the shop for 3 weeks. They are putting in a rebuilt transmission.

I have had multiple occurrences where the vehicle will stall at 50-60mph. All of sudden i just lose power and my sensor lights come on in the dash. I have to attempt to pull over without any steering and turn the vehicle off and turn it back on, this usually works but recently this happened and when i went to start the vehicle the check engine light stayed on and it did the same thing after driving about 100 more feet and woulddie out after about 3 attempts and i could not getthe vehicle started, i let it sit for about 10 minutes and then it restarted and i drove it approximately 12 miles with the check engine light on, without any problems before driving it into the shop. It has now been into the shop twice for the problem, it has happened more times than i have taken it into be fixed because i was told to keep driving it until it happened again. After the first time of being apparently fixed it a few days after it was fixed and they ran a test on it and said it should be fine and to keep driving it. It then did it about 3 weeks later and i brought it into the shop again, this s when the check engine light stayed on.

2008 jeep wrangler manual transmission while driving the vehicle it will jump out of gear jeep was bought new and has been back to dealers vann dodge nj 3 times still not corrected and the vehicle is still there. 1st time they said the shift boot needed to be trimmed, 2nd time they said it was because it was cold out and that jeeps do this, now it is there for the 3rd time and they say they when they drive it, it still has not jumped out of gear. Jeep alsohas been leaking transmission fluid and power steering fluid that has been there 2 times to be fixed. Still a problem.jeep was bought brand new and has had the same problems since the day i bought it. Bought vehicle brand new so i would not have any problems. Will contact lemon law something is wrong with the vehicle and i feel the dealer just does not want to fix the problem getting the run around. I spent alot of money on this vehicle and feel i got stuck.

The air bag light on the dash instrumental goes on and off at random.

Under normal driving conditions or even while the vehicle is at a complete stop the front passenger side seat belt will lock up.if the front passenger (my wife) sits back the belt will only tighten.the only way for the seat belt to release and be worn properly again is the belt must be removed and put into a rest position.there is no braking and hard turns or acceleration being done at anytime that this happens.after taking it to the dealer several times i am only told that the problem can not be reproduced and nothing can be done.it happens randomly and usually while we are driving down the highway.not a good time to have to remove the seat belt in order for it to work properly again.note; there is no sudden movements being done by passenger.this has been happening for the better part of two years now.

The contact owns a 2008 jeep wrangler 4x4 2-door. The contact stated that after exiting the vehicle he would smell a burning odor. The contact inspected the vehicle and discovered that the wheels hadbecome abnormally hot. The contact sustained burns to three of his fingers from touching the wheels. The vehicle was later taken to the dealer where they advised that the brake calipers overheated and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired for the front passenger side caliper and also the two rear calipers on separate occasions. The manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 16,619. The current mileage was approximately 19,000.

Anti lock brake module failed.brake pedal would pulse on dry pavement even at speeds under 5 miles an hour but would fail to bring vehicle to a complete stop.problem began as intermittent then would randomly go from pulsing but still stopping the vehicle to eventually the pedal going to the floor with no pulsing and no brakes whatsoever.also, no brake warning light or antilock brake light.i kept the module and would be more than happy to send it to you for evaluation.since i have replaced the module (last fall) i have had no further issues.

When turning i noticed that the vehicle started vibrating and the abs, esp, and traction control lights and also the brake light come on. My son drives this vehicle also and i am afraid the air bag is going to deploy.

My 2008 jeep wrangler shakes when going over a bump or when i accelerate at 40 mph. It is scary, it feels like driving on black ice. I had the tires checked and they are fine. There must be a problem with the steering component. Also, freedom top has leaked and stained my seats. Dealership just fixed it a month ago. Also, the jeep was leaking oil, dealership just fixed the intake manifold gasket 3 weeks ago. It is scheduled to go back to dealership for this steering issue and it is rusting on both doors. Poor, poor quality. I am very unhappy with this vehicle. I have looked up recalls and none are listed for my issues , so i am starting to feel like i own a lemon. I have wrote to jeep and chrysler, waiting on their replies. Jeep owner need to be aware of this shaking you off the road, it is like you are swerving out of control, very scary. It is going to cause fatalities.

My son was driving his 2008 jeep wrangler and the brakes failed.this caused him to hit the car in front of him at a slow speed with minor damage and no injuries.the police officer tested the brakes and said that they were not working the car was towed home..there was no ticket given.the vehicle has 24000 miles on it and is in excellent condition.i drove the vehicle the prior day and did not notice anything wrong with the braking system.

On 5/15/13 i purchased a 2008 jeep wrangler x from walser subaru in burnsville mn.at approximately 8:50pm i was heading home from completing the transaction with the dealer.i was on i-35w north going around a long easy left corner in the road when i hit a rough area in the highway.the vehicle began to shake violently and the steering wheel was shaking hard left and right.i immediately grasped the wheel as firmly as possible and slowed the vehicle to approximately 45 miles an hour before the shaking stopped.i immediately took the next exit and inspected the tires and wheels thinking i had a flat or a loose wheel. I continued to drive home with no other occurrence of the incident.this morning 5/16/2013 at approximately 7:40am i was on my way to work and had just merged off of i-35w south to 280 south.i again was in a slight bend in the road this time to the right and hit a rough area of roadway.i was traveling at approximately 60 miles an hour when again the vehicle began to shake violently and i had to grasp the wheel firmly and slow until the shaking subsided.i've contacted the dealer and the vehicle is going in for inspection at walser chrysler jeep in hopkins mn at 1:45pm 5/16/13.i also did a significant amount of research online today after the second event and it appears this is a very common problem on 2007-2013 jeep wrangler jk models.it is most commonly referred to as "death wobble"this appears to be a wide spread and very dangerous flaw in the jeep jk design and one that needs to be carefully investigated for safety of all those on the public roadways.

Death wobble on a 2008 jeep wrangler.vehicle has a predictable vibration between 55-60 mph.on one occasion, the vehicle shook so violently that it took the steering wheel out of my wife's hands.she was going around 55 mph around a curve.on a second occasion, i was slowing down to take an exit ramp.slowing from 75 mph to around 60 mph and entering the exit ramp curve, the steering wheel was almost shaken out of my hands.on a third occasion, at around 60 mph on a straight road with no bumps, the jeep began to shake violently and again pulled the steering wheel out of another drivers hands.the minor vibration happens everyday between 55-60 mph.the dealership says nothing is wrong.i have replaced the steering stabilizer with a rancho heavy duty stabilizer.vibration went away for about 500 miles.i religiously do a 5 tire rotation and balance.no change.i have had a 4 wheel alignment completed.no change.jeep will not drive the vehicle.they say if there is a vibration to have the tires balanced and the front end aligned.when i tell them that has been done, their reply is that it was not completed properly and they would do it for $300.i am getting to the point of selling or trading it in since i cannot fix the issue.i am almost ready to try to replace ball joints, but at 47,700 miles and no suspension or engine modifications.the jeep has never been off-roaded, never been mistreated.what now?jeep also offered to replace the ball joints, pitman arm, tie rod ends, sway bar end links, etc. For a nice sum of the $2500.ouch.

Death wobble 2008 wrangler 2nd repair, still not fixed. First time i noticed it in 2010, less than 25000 miles.i assumed it was the road condition. When i realized that it would happen under various road conditions, i noted other factors realizing that it seemed to occur at approximately 57 mph. At first the vibration was just annoying and intermittent. Then it got worse and i was scared because it shook so violently at 57 mph. I thought the vehicle was going to roll spontaneously.in march 2010, took it to a dealer; they said they couldn't recreate the problem so couldn't fix it. I called another dealer and the service tech (in 2010) mentioned, "jeep wobble"- i googled it and found very little info- just some jeep owner blogs that described exactly what i felt. The dealer fixed the problem (under warranty) by replacing the steering column shock (or something). Since i had it repaired, i still experienced the normal, minor vibration that happens around 55 mph. Recently (jan 2013) the death wobble returned with a vengeance. Regardless of road conditions, at 57 mph it shakes so badly that it feels like i will loose control. I took it to the dealership and they said that they will replace the shock again and they mentioned that the part has been improved with brackets or some such. Of course, at 57000 miles, it is out of warranty and i had to pay the $230 for the repair. The tech told me that this is a common issue and i will probably have to replace it again in another 25000 miles. I call bs!the jeep has never been off-road, never mistreated, always maintained. Neither dealer nor manufacturer ever mentioned this tsbduring the 2013 repair. When i picked it up, it was not fixed. Jeep co. Has agreed to reimburse me for all but $100 (deductible) but why do i have to keep paying for repairs on a known issue? vibration is so bad, it could cause me to wreck.

I was driving approx. 55 mph, when my 2008 jeep wranglerbegan to shake violently. Braking, i pulled to the side of the road to check for a blown tire. I walked around the jeep and saw nothing wrong. As luck would have it, i was in front of a jeep dealership. I pulled across the highway and left the jeep for inspection and repairs. The following day i was contacted and told that i had experienced the "death wobble". I was told i needed to replace the steering damper shock, lower control arms and damper brackets. Then i had to pay for tire rotation and wheel alignment. I have found plenty of complaints on the internet about this problem. After reading some, i am afraid it could still happen again. I am considering selling the jeep. I think that jeep owes the jeep owners a recall. These repairs cost my $650.00. I have owned 5 jeep wranglers, i won't buy another one, unless jeep makes this right!!

Death wobble.right front wobbles 1 going at any speed when hitting a small bump in road.braking makes it worse. You can only try to slow it down & pull off to shoulder without having an accident.

Violent, extreme shaking in front end of vehicle ("death wobble") at speeds between 55-60mph.has occurred about 6 times, but is random and intermittent, with no known precipitating factors.it has happened several times when vehicle was traveling over minor bumps but has also occurred more frequently on perfectly smooth, straight pavement - with no turning, breaking, acceleration.the shaking seems to be in the front tires/axle and continues for 3-4 seconds as i am trying to reduce speed carefully and maintain control of the vehicle.it feels like the front tires are going to fly off in different directions! after the first occurrence, it did not happen again for months, but recently has happened several times.i was told by one garage that it was due to tire balance (which i knew was not the case), but i had all four tires balanced/rotated (at about 42,500 miles).garage personnel stated this "took care of most of the problem" but suggested i get new tires. Problem occurred 2 more times within a week, before new tires.have had all four tires replaced.death wobble has not recurred, but i am absolutely certain it has nothing to do with the tires/balance and that this will happen again without warning.it is terrifying and extremely dangerous, and someone is going to be hurt or killed.i have an appointment at the dealership next week.when i made the appointment, they claimed they had never heard of this problem, so i will provide them with information i gathered in about 20 minutes off various web sites detailing the aptly-named "death wobble."i am well-acquainted with the "could-not-duplicate-the-problem" garage mantra, so foresee a protracted and frustrating battle before this life-threatening problem is fixed.

The contact owns a 2008 jeep wrangler unlimited x3. When driving between 40 and 60 mph, the vehicle would vibrate uncontrollably without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer seven times in regards to the failure yet the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was left in the dealer's possession. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 36,000.

I was driving on the highway, beginning to go down a mountain interstate in colorado. I was traveling at 57 mph when i very lightly pressed the brake. The front and of the car and the steering wheel began to shake violently to the point where i had no control over the car. The car was bouncing back and forth, left and right, and i feel very lucky to not have caused an accident. I have serious fears about driving this vehicle on the highway now because if this happens again, i feel the likelihood of an accident is very high. This symptom is referred to as the "death wobble" in jeep wranglers, and is a serious safety concern. I have read countless reports of it and chrysler jeep needs to address this problem. It is an extremely serious safety concern that numerous owners have experienced. Persistently with their vehicles.

My complaint is a future failure.i own a 2007 jeep wrangler.at the time of this complaint, my vehicle has 18,000 miles.the torsion bar on the front end, is worn out.fellow owners complain of this problem. Being a steering issue, it could lead to severe injuries in the future.i am the first owner of the vehicle.

My brand new 2008 jeep wrangler x 4x4 began the dreaded "death wobble" (loss of steering control) around 550 miles. Thought i was about to "die". Happened 4 more times until i got it to the dealer. After searching jeep forums and such, i found that 1000s of jeep owners have experienced this problem, with many jeep models. And learned that chrysler does not consider the death wobble an issue. My faith in manufacturers has dropped to the bottom of the pit. This is an exceedingly dangerous problem. I'm going to see what i can do to get this jeep defect on national tv. I am lucky to be alive.

Experienced the notorious "death wobble" again today. This has happened plenty of times to me, but today it was the most severe and worrisome. The vehicle shakes and rattles so much that i expect pieces to fall off. Other cars pull up to me on the highway off ramp (where it often happens on our bumpy massachusetts roads) and ask if everything is okay.i'm not sure if i would buy this jeep again. They really need to fix this. Articles online seem to suggest that it is the stock track bar, and if so, why won't chrysler just replace them?

While driving vehicle several issues presented without warning: suddenly the wipers started going, windshield fluid spraying, horn blaring and lights flashing.engine then cut out while underway on a city street rendering power steering, brakes and stability control inoperable.dealer diagnosed this as a bad totally integrated power module (tipm)

Moving along road at 55 mph.vehicle front end began to shake violently.steering wheel also shook violently.i had to quickly change lanes and slow down to have vehicle stop shaking.this violent shaking almost caused accident. I had vehicle worked on two months ago for shimmy. Now it is violently shaking. Took vehicle back onto jeep dealer service department and was told it is a tire issue. That the tires have flat spots.i have had the tires checked and balanced and they are good. I bought the tires one year ago new and have not had issues till today.i am a soldier in the army and have served 28 years. I have spent two combat deployments in iraq.this shook me up almost wrecking my vehicle from the violent shaking.please do something about this.

At 50,000 miles the vehicle began to have the death wobble. Problem was found to be caused by badly worn stock ball joints.

When driving over 50mph in my 2008 jeep wrangler if i hit certain potholes or expansion joints on the highway, the whole jeep starts shaking violently to the point where i lose control and drivers around me pull off the road when they see what my jeep is doing. I have to slam on the brakes to get the vehicle to stop shaking and it only does so once i am able to bring it to a complete stop. After researching this issue it seems many jeep wranglers do it. It is called "death wobble" and jeep/chrysler will not fix it. I feel this vehicle is very unsafe to drive my family in.

The contact owns a 2008 jeep wrangler 2-dr 4x4. While driving at approximately 40 mph over a bump, the steering wheel and the front tires vibrated without warning. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 57,000. The vin was unavailable.

While driving down a highway at approximately 45-50 mph, drove over a patched area of the roadway while steering left. What ensued was pure [xxx]. The vehicle shook uncontrollably for about 200 feet or so until i could get it back under control and off the road. Have talked to several mechanics in the area and have been told the same thing over and over....unless they can get the vehicle to imitate what happened to me while they test drove it nothing could officially be done. After looking up and reading hundreds of reports from other people with the same "issues" i feel that the jeep corporation needs to do something about this soon before someone dies in an accident. I am the second owner of this vehicle and have not done anything to it mechanically. It is still stock inside and out. Vehicle has just over 21,000 miles on it. Have had it off road once scouting for hunting areas and nothing more. This is a daily driver to work and back, don't even want to get it out on a highway and get it up to the 75 mph speed limit here in ks. Not sure what to do about this. I can actually get underneath the vehicle and roll the linkage bar with the steering stabilizer on it about an inch or so up and down. Tie-rod ends have got to be going but 2 mechanics said nothing was wrong. Please help!!!!information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

The death wobble is a nightmare.it's terrifying, not other way to describe it.the entire car shakes so violently you have no choice but to stop.it happened on busy highway (nj turnpike) and i almost caused an accident because i had to stop the jeep with people travelling at speeds of 65mph and greater.i've called dealerships, they don't know how to fix it.it sounds like a waste of money for me to even attempt to fix it.why has the jeep wrangler not been recalled for this reason?it's outrageous for the amount of money these cars cost.

2008 jeep wrangler jk death wobble- not resolved (for long) by replacement of steering stabilizer. Believe there is a serious flaw(s) in the overall engineering and design. Steering box is exceptionally weak and clunks. Jeep is ignoring the problem, despite thousands of complaints from owners online, at dealers, and in jeep forums. Someone is going to get killed by this issue. Has not been resolved on my jeep yet- haven't even figured out what the root cause is yet, but have spent $1000 so far! thinking about ditching this dangerous vehicle.

Clockspring came apart inside steering column.lost ability to steer, air bag shut off, use horn, and cruise control.warranty did not cover.

Death wobble - when i reach a speed of over 45 and hit a rough patch, my front two tires start wobbling uncontrollably.it is extremely dangerous and the only way to stop it is to slow down almost to a stop.i have just 31,000 miles on my jeep (no modification and stock tires).this is an extremely dangerous situation. If my wife had this happen, i doubt she would be able to safely maneuver the vehicle to the side of the road.i took it into the jeep dealership.they put a new steering damper on it and said that would fix the problem.it did not.they recommended that i go to chrysler.

While traveling on route 95 at 65mph, i hit a bump and my front end began to violently shake requiring me to pull into the breakdown lane and come to a stop. This occurred 2 more times and the vehicle was very difficult to control scaring me beyond belief. The phenomenon is known as "death wobble" by people that have had it happen. I have maintained my vehicle on a regular basis and the really concerning part is the number of reports on various web forums. There is no way to know it is going to happen and the unsuspecting driver can lose control and crash very easily. If you need any further information, please don't hesitate to call me. Thanks

The contact owns a 2008 jeep wrangler safari. The contact stated that when the vehicle reaches 45 mph the front end starts to shake. When the contact tried to slow the vehicle down the shaking becomes worse. The contact mentioned that the track arm broke from the vehicle when he tried to slow the vehicle down. The contact was able to merge to the side of the road without having an accident. The contact had the vehicle towed to the dealer and was told that the front brackets and axle needed to be replaced. The dealer stated that they would also have to add two additional brackets to re-enforce the axle. The failure mileage and current mileage was 40,000.the consumerstated the death wobble became so severe, it actually blew off the axle brackets that held the track arm. Updated 12/03/12

2008 jeep wrangler began to violently shake.automobile is unmodified.very difficult to control under these conditions.

I bought a used jeep from newark jeep eagle in delaware which had a 30 day warranty.the same night that i drove it home on the highway, i hit uneven pavement and the jeep started shaking violently.took the jeep back to the dealer, they replaced the steering stabilizer, track bar, and switched my tires and this continued to happen after every repair.since i only had a 30 day warranty i could not continue to take it back for additional repair due to costs, however nothing seemed to work and now this happens at higher speeds and very often.this wobble happens every time i drive the jeep and it is unsafe.i see several other complaints regarding this wobble on several forums and on jeeps that have not been altered like mine.this needs to be addressed in a recall as people who spend $25,000 for a vehicle should not have to go broke to fix an obvious manufacturer error.i cannot drive me vehicle on the highway for fear of my safety as well as having to slow down and pull across the entire highway could cause an accident.

2008 jeep wrangler sahara stock. Violent wobble. "death wobble" while traveling at highway speed, 60mph, i crossed over an expansion crack for a bridge. The front end of the jeep began a violent wobble back and forth until slowing down to approximately 10 mph. This wobble almost contributed to a head on collision with a tractor trailer in the opposing traffic due to an almost complete loss of steering capability. The problem happened again at the same speed after another small bump. This is an extremely dangerous situation. After researching the problem further, there are endless factors that trigger the wobble. Each problem may be fixed, but it will only provide a temporary solution. The wobble itself cannot be fixed under most circumstances, you can only fix what sets it off. The problem has been documented multiple times on the internet. It was also displayed publicly on the news, however chrysler has not been held accountable.

I have been experiencing the so called death wobble. At speeds between 60-70mph, when i hit an imperfection in the road, my steering violently shakes from side to side. At this point, it will only stop if i slow down to speeds below 20mph. This has put me in several dangerous situations on the highway, as i suddenly need to stop my jeep, regardless of what lane i am in. The steering stabilizer has been replaced, and has not changed the problem. My jeep is stock; no lifts, aftermarket wheels, etc. I am getting this wobble once every few trips on a highway.

Severe steering vibration resuts when hitting a bump at highway speeds (60+). Problem is worst when also turning (ex: on an overpass). I loss directional control and nearly hit the concrete divider before regaining control as the vehicle slowed down. Steering stabilizer/shock was replaced under warranty by dealership.

While driving and when speed reached 55 -60 mph, the steering had a small shaking to it. As time and more miles went by, it turned into uncontrollable steering. I had to let off the accelerator and coast to a slower speed. Eventually i could not drive the jeep until i changed the torsion bar, tie rod ends and steering stabilizer, (twice, the last time with a heavy duty one) and then what fixed it was the steering gear box. But once i changed it, the wobble or uncontrollable shaking stopped so i got a front end alignment and had to change all four ball joints due to the damage the wobble caused. That has been about 10 months and the small shaking has started up again. Getting worse to worse as time and mileage goes by.

The airbag light has been illuminated for about a month now.while driving yesterday, i heard a noise in the steering wheel that was followed by a scraping sound when the steering wheel is moved.

Soft top has leaked and been work on under warranty and is now out of warranty and still leaking from the center of the windshield. During periods of mile and heavy rain. Water drips down the center console and often causes electrical issues with radio. The dealers now will not work on it unless i pay for the service and parts. The dealer refused to replace the soft top itself as they have already replaced the mating windshield header.

2008 jeep wrangler.there is a poorly designed bracket right behind the drivers and passengers head.the bracket has a sharp metal corner right behind the front drivers and passengers heads.if there even small accident, there would be significant trauma to the head if they were to hit the bracket.currently this bracket is only covered by a styrofoam piece.this bracket sits right on the roll bar and can easily be fixedthe trauma that individuals would get from this bracket would be significant.it is located right next to the plastic sound bar underneath some styrofoam.

Mounting brackets on mirrors deteriorated. Driver side fell off while driving about a year ago.today my passenger mirror fell off in traffic almost causing an accident.the metal on the bracket almost looks rotten and pitted.

My kids and i was driving in my 2008 jeep rubbicon 4 wheel drive off road vehicle on my land when my jeep caught fire causing a total loss and causing other damages likeburning my field up and four wheeler ..i called 911 to come arrived 8 min later and put the jeep out along with the field and atv ..they made report on the damages jeep still remainsin field at this time.

When driving my new 2008 jeep wrangler sahara on the highway , the hood seems lose as it "moves" around at highway speeds. If there is a wind the hood pops up a few inches. On a 2 lane highway a big transport truck went by in the opposite direction and i swear the hood jumped up 6 inches. Chrysler says this is normal. What is so normal about the hood threatening to open? what about in a few years when the (rubber/plastic) hood retainers start getting old?

Soft top leaks on both side in the front. Seats getting stained and the carpet is starting to smell. Water stains on the doors, steering column, and down the dash.

Death wobble,50+ mph, minor bump violent front end shaking, unable to steer or brake.coast until near stop and then continue as if nothing happen.to be on safe side replaced entire front end with quality parts as no part tested bad but replacement parts usa made were better quality than original.stock 45k vehicle.combination of poor design with slight wear.any combination sooner or later is going to cause serious injury.research shows this happens often with no actual recourse, it was expensive but safest recourse.not sure why this has not been address by manufacture as online video's are accurate.trust me, six flags has nothing that will rattle you more.

Thanks

2008 jeep wrangler began to violently shake.automobile is unmodified.very difficult to control under these conditions.

At 50,000 miles the vehicle began to have the death wobble. Problem was found to be caused by badly worn stock ball joints.

Death wobble.right front wobbles 1 going at any speed when hitting a small bump in road.braking makes it worse. You can only try to slow it down & pull off to shoulder without having an accident.

Severe vibration in front end of unmodified 2008 jeep wrangler x when hitting a bump on highway.forced to slam on brakes on highway to stop violent shaking and regain control of vehicle.it started a couple months ago and happens any time i hit a big bump.it happened 3 times yesterday.i googled this and it appears this is a rather common complaint - one that seems to be particularly common in the newer style jeeps at around 20,000-30,000 miles even when no modifications have been made.this is very dangerous and if its this common, chrysler should be forced to address this!

When driving over 50mph in my 2008 jeep wrangler if i hit certain potholes or expansion joints on the highway, the whole jeep starts shaking violently to the point where i lose control and drivers around me pull off the road when they see what my jeep is doing. I have to slam on the brakes to get the vehicle to stop shaking and it only does so once i am able to bring it to a complete stop. After researching this issue it seems many jeep wranglers do it. It is called "death wobble" and jeep/chrysler will not fix it. I feel this vehicle is very unsafe to drive my family in.

Takata recall: while on the highway traveling at 50mph or higher, if the jeep hits a small bump, the vehicle will begin to violently shake, only stopping the vehicle makes it come to a stop. This extreme wobble makes controlling the vehicle difficult, which could have resulted in severe highway accidents. Extremely dangerous in any type of inclement weather.this has required me to pull off the highway several times, which in itself is also a dangerous situation to be in. I have taken my vehicle to the dealership of purchase 2 times with in the first 6 week of purchase and then the dealership of purchase sent it to the local jeep dealership which it has been there 3 time in a 2 month period in an attempt to fix it. They have replaced my steering dampener, sway bar link, track bar, bushing, balanced my tires, and replaced any in the front suspension in an attempt to fix the problem which has not to this point. Extremely dangerous problem- can't believe there is not a recall!

Leaving work, about 1 mile away on a flat straight road doing about 45-50 mph the front end started shaking violently. Had to come to a complete stop. Started driving again and around 45 mph i could feel it start again, let my foot of the gas and as it slowed down it stopped.could not do more than 40 mph for the ride home from work.called dealership, they are going to look at it on 5/5/14.

Excessive front end wobble, wheel hop at speeds between 35-65 mph when encountering small changes in road surface(ie. Slight pothole, expansion joint, rippling of road). Also known as the death wobble among jeep owners and dealers.

The contact owns a 2008 jeep wrangler 2-dr 4x4. While driving approximately 45 mph over a road bump, the front end of the vehicle began to violently vibrate. The contact decelerated to 10 mph which caused the failure to stop. The malfunction recurred whenever driving over uneven road surfaces or bumps at speeds between 45-60 mph. The authorized dealer and manufacturer were notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

Extreme vibration in the front end brought on by (1) hitting a rough spot in the road and (2) hitting the brakes hard. I now understand that this is referred to as the jeep death wobble. It is, as yet, unrepaired. Vehicledamage is unknown at this point.

Severe front end wobble causing loss of control when driving above 50 mph.it occurs 90% of the time when driving above 50 mph.

While driving my 2008 jeep wrangler at about 35-40 mph over a rough spot on the road, i experiencedhorrible front end shake that i could not control until i pulled the car over.i'm very lucky there was nobody else in front or in back of me because i had no control of my vehicle. I looked into this online and have learned it's called the "death wobble" and it's happened to many other jeep owners.

Excessive front end wobble, wheel hop at speeds between 35-65 mph when encountering small changes in road surface(ie. Slight pothole, expansion joint, rippling of road). Also known as the death wobble among jeep owners and dealers.

I have a 2008 jeep wrangler 2 door.i recently noticed the "death wobble" occasionally at around 40 mph.while driving my young son, all was fine and smooth and then all of a sudden the front end started violently shaking and banging around.it steered itself off the road, luckily into a parking lot, but i was still going about 35 mph.i had to pull the emergency brake to get it stopped before slamming into a parked vehicle.upon inspection of the front end, i found that my front trac bar bracket welds had broken from the front axle.had i been in a curve, the front axle would have slid out from under the vehicle!this would have been catastrophic and would have totaled the jeep and most likely caused serious injuries.i have since spoken to a couple of buddies that have the same model wranglers.they both had the same issue!i called my dealership, but they said they have never heard of this and it must have been a freak deal.this is the same response my buddies got from the same dealership!

I don't know who to contact or what to do,i was the owner of a 2008 jeep wrangler i have owned it since 9/11/08 i ordered it brand new from factory through a dealer. Yesterday may 31, 2008 at around 630 pmor so.i was driving to a local state park when my vehicle burst into flames in the engine compartment area, while i was driving about 45mph down a gravel rode. There was a pop and the vehicle lost drive power at the same time the flames shot out from under the drivers side engine compartment.i stopped the vehicle in the middle of the dirt road jumped out and grabbed my cell phone and called 911.no one was injured from it lucky but i am concerned that the vehicle being less then a year out of the factory would do that. I live in missouri valley, iathanks for your time, scott ortiz

Thank you.

When i am driving my jeep out of no where it decides to do the 'death wobble'. It has almost thrown me off the road in several situations. This is very dangerous and i do not understand why chrysler has this problem with a bunch of their jeeps and does not fix it for anyone or warn anyone. I have took it to place after place trying to get an answer of why i have changed the steering stabilizer 4 times now. I am terrified to drive my jeep not knowing when it is going to happen again. It could be over a very small bump in the road that isn't even noticeable to the naked eye or a big bump it does not matter. I have spent a lot of money trying to fix this problem. There is no way anyone would be able to stop there vehicle as fast as they need to because of the death wobble when there is ice on the road this could kill someone!! shakes the whole front in uncontrollably!

Powerful shaking of the steering wheel and front wheels after a hitting a road bump at about 50 mph.the shaking continued as i let off the gas and tried to get to the side of the road. It took two of us grasping the steering wheel to get it off the road. If i had not been in the slow lane to begin with, i most likely would have had a serious accident. After doing some on-line researching, i have found this problem is called "the death wobble" and chrysler is well aware of it.i took the vehicle immediately to the dealer who told me my tires needed to be balanced and proceeded to do so. I wasn't more than a mile away from the dealer when i hit a small bump and the wobble was back. This is a very serious issue and needs to be looked into before someone is killed. I am terrified to get back behind the wheel of this wrangler.

Engine caught on fire. Jeep fully engulfed in flames.

Transmission cooler lines are leaking fluid at the hose to tube crimp joints.called chrysler and they said for my vin number there is no recall. Its my understanding there was a recall on 2008-2009 jk automatic transmission lines leak at hose crimp jonts forfor certain manufacturing months in those years but not in mine it wasbuilt in january2008.chrysler winn not assist in cost or repacement.its out of warranty and only has 40,503 miles on it.

The jeep jumps out of gear without any warning almost causing a accident with the car behind me!

Cruise control stopped working, horn stopped working, air bag light stays on and dings constantly.dealership said there was no recall or warranty extension on the faulty clock spring.

Windshield cracked on my 2008 jk wrangler. Right up the middle, seems as if this is a common occurrence on these vehicles.

Driver and passenger side mirrors have both failed.metal housing has corroded and failed.driver side mirror had vibration when driving, when examining the mirror it broke off (in fall of 2016).passenger side mirror fell off while driving with no warning.was driving straight on secondary road at about 35 mph, nothing hit the mirror to cause it to fail. Could have hit another car and is a safety hazard..failure appears to be corrosion of aluminum structure and possible steel post that holds the mirror.there was a lot of white corrosion or mineral build up on the remaining aluminum.have owned the vehicle since new, used primarily in massachusetts.

The jeep's horn, wiper blades, wiper fluid and headlights go off by themselves even when the key is not in the ignition.then the jeep began cutting off while driving in the middle of rush hour traffic.

Thanks

2008 jeep wrangler began to violently shake.automobile is unmodified.very difficult to control under these conditions.

Death wobble.right front wobbles 1 going at any speed when hitting a small bump in road.braking makes it worse. You can only try to slow it down & pull off to shoulder without having an accident.
